California Science Center's best feature is completely free admission! While the star attraction Space Shuttle Endeavour is currently closed for display (being prepared for vertical launch position in a new facility), there are still plenty of interactive science exhibitions to explore. IMAX films cost extra, but all permanent exhibits are free - amazing value for families! Located in Exposition Park right next to USC campus, very convenient via Metro Expo Line to Expo Park/USC station - just cross the street and you're there. Parking is $15 if driving, so I'd recommend public transit to save money. The current Endeavour Together exhibition shows the shuttle program story and incredible footage of the shuttle's 2012 journey through LA streets. While missing the shuttle is disappointing, the museum promises the new facility will feature the world's only complete shuttle system in vertical display - definitely coming back for that! Overall, it's an excellent science education venue perfect for families to explore together. 加州科学中学非常适合小孩子来玩。周六有非常多家长带着小朋友来。现在有新的展览，《狗和人的关系》。停车是12.2刀，科学中学免费进入，若是想看奋进号航天飞机，需要买3刀的票，网上买或者科学中心门口的box office都可以。

场馆面积不大，但是因为楼层很多，所以里面内容很丰富。 一进门就有个惊喜，因为有腔棘鱼的标本！我没查到世界上究竟有几个博物馆有腔棘鱼的标本，不过以此鱼稀少的数量，恐怕能看到的地方是不超过个位数的。 在最下层的是一些加州本地的生物介绍。比如某只带有编号的山狮。可是对于外地人，可能共鸣不大。 但是一些员工很热情专业。在老鼠那部分，员工主动向我女儿介绍了那几只活老鼠的习性。也和我聊了圈养动物的心理影响。 楼上一层是很多北美本地生物。比如某些美洲野牛和熊之类的。 有意思的是再上一层有一个恐龙化石，它的前肢不是向前，而是和鱼鳍一样向后的，而且骨骼是巨大的瘤块形状。为此我和工作人员聊了一下，对方介绍了几个猜想的进化模型，但是也强调对此并无定论。 总体来说，就自然博物馆，本地化的动物很多，集中在北美和洛杉矶上。

We got the ticket that was everything but "Smash It". The staff is so friendly & helpful! I called ahead of time for parking info (garage in the back, $20 flat rate I believe) and general questions. The main attraction (Museum of Illusions) is the best of the three. You get to appreciate the artwork & creativity of these artists (usually signed on the side.) Though they have an indicator for most of these where the camera should be for best presenting the illusion (tripod for rent $10), preview anyways and check different levels so you can see what you really want. Giant's House comes second(-best.) These props are SO COOL and for a good amount of things you can climb on them etc. It feels like a playground and the space is so colorful! I also believe it's easiest to take pictures here since it's concept is the most straight-forward -- the real challenge is being able to climb on top of things if you want to interact with the giant pieces that way (as we are short!) Upside-down House is interesting. You can definitely get good pictures, but the impressive part is really seeing the "house" itself (assembled & decorated well!) I recommend a larger view on your camera so you can properly have the "floor" in the picture as well for reference/context. Holding the illusion is definitely the challenging goal here, so maybe brainstorm ahead of time. Hand on surface is like a handstand. Jumps go a long way. Consider hair. You might end up more-so with a "zero gravity" look rather than upside-down; that's cool too. But yes, these were really neat to see the results of later, concept kind of like a roller coaster pic or photo booth where you get it in the end. (:

The parking is free and right next to the ship. The volunteers working there were all extremely friendly and kind people.
