They have an outdoor area with regular tables and the indoor section has both a bar and two large communal tables. I absolutely love the vibe and have for the past few years. We did the Wednesday Night Special flight for $21 (my favorite number) which included 3 tastings of drastically different Pinot Noirs from around the world that all come out at once so you can do a true side-by-side comparison. FOOD: They have a menu with curated items that are meant to be shared, and the top three I recommend are the meatballs ($18), baby beets ($16), and smashed potatoes ($14). As a goat cheese connoisseur, I recommend everyone get the sweet Baby Beets, with marinated red baby beets, aged Cabernet Sauvignon vinegar, whipped honey goat cheese + mascarpone, candied pecans, and micro arugula greens. SERVICE: the staff was friendly but the the service was quite slow, having to get up from the table and walk to the bar twice to ask for another drink and silverware, as well as trying to track someone down for the check. ATMOSPHERE & AMBIANCE: the restaurant/bar looks upscale, and had a warm cozy feel with dim lighting and candles set atop wine barrels. There was a piano player in the back to set them mood. It seems to cater to an older, more mature crowd in the age range of mid-30’s and up. There is a good amount of seating throughout the restaurant and they were placed in a way to avoid overcrowding and to give each party there one sense of personal space. The seating options were bar seats (approx 8-10), 2 high top tables (each seats approx 4-6), and several regular tables at the center of the restaurant (from what I saw it looked like the tables could accommodate 2-8ppl/table). I had been waiting a couple weeks for a particular bottle to come back into stock before placing an order. Once I saw it, I ordered 5 various bottles and paid for the local delivery. The order confirmation told me to download an app to track my order, which I did. The next day, I kept checking and the only status was Order Received. At around noon, I received a doorbell notification and saw someone with what looked like a bottle delivery. I did manage to get it, but even after it was delivered, the order status still only showed Order Received. By the time I opened the box, I noticed that the one bottle I was specifically waiting for was missing and another cheaper bottle was included instead. Since there is no phone number online, I sent an email to let them know about the mix up and ask how we could resolve the issue. Within 10 minutes, I received a reply apologizing for the mistake. They not only refunded my original delivery charge, but they were also going to send out the correct bottle the next day at no additional charge to me. When I offered to either pay for the bottle I mistakenly received or return it to the delivery driver, they insisted I keep it and try it as it was one of their favorite bottles! Say what? Had extremely high expectations going in, and was left feeling disappointed - not due to the service, or even most cases of the food, but the handling of a bug in our food. In our Drunken Noodle dish, we found a decently sized bug (2cm x 1cm) in our dish, likely mixed in with some of the vegetables used, and promptly reported it to our server who helped to bring it back to the kitchen. Our server kindly asked whether we'd like it remade or offered an alternative, to which we asked to have a look at the menu & that we'd maybe choose dessert for what we replaced instead. We later asked to add mango sticky rice (2x) to the order. What was disappointing was that on the bill, only the Drunken Noodle was comped - with no other mention of anything else despite the bug in our food. I asked if that was the best that could be done, to which they removed the next lowest-priced item on the dish (a tostada). Overall, it left us feeling as if we'd been pretty "cheaped out" by the situation and that they were relatively unapologetic for the bug in the food that ruined a dish and soured the experience. Was surprised that they didn't just immediately comp the dessert (~$19 each mango sticky rice), without asking, which seemed to be the idea based on the dialogue after we notified of the bug. Instead, it took an extra round of us asking, for an even cheaper dish to be comp'd. Back to the life lesson I learned, which is to always ask for tap water. I just figured it might be $6 per bottle but nope I guess that is how they pay their rent by charging as much for a bottle of water as a bottle of beer. I hope they train their staff to include tap water as a water option. Would I recommend Spago to a friend? Sure, but I will definitely warn them to not order the still or sparkling water. As Joey Swoll might say, Spago do better!

Wine and water were topped up without asking, service was discreet but efficient. Courses were timely and food was great. We sat on the patio, which was a decent size, but felt intimate.
