This experience although pricey, was worth every penny. From the moment we arrived we truly felt special. Valet was kind and professional, the front desk was truly kind and provided a complimentary upgrade from my birthday. Upon entering the room a bottle of champagne, small birthday cake, and fresh fruit were placed in our room acknowledging my birthday, which was such a nice touch. The room was immaculate!!!! Very well kept, with linens crisped, white, and stainless. There was a fountain outside of our room, which was wonderful because whenever we went to use the restroom, you could hear the fountain while you’re in the bathroom, which gave it a tranquil feel. This was room 472 if you want that room. The bathroom was well kept and cleaned. The small private courtyard was quaint and peaceful. The bed was extremely comfortable. We attended their High Tea and it was just lovely. It was peaceful, the tea and sandwiches were great. Also the desserts were delicious and extra was given to us again because of my birthday. Their live jazz in the evening was great and musicians were so kind. Breakfast was brought to our room the next morning and was delicious. We ask for a special request of beet juice and was accommodated. The spa was amazing. Everything was beautiful and perfect and the massage put my husband to sleep. Again, they provided a small gift in celebration of my birthday. The pool area was gorgeous and peaceful because we got there before the kids arrived and a lot of fun with great drinks. I cannot thank this hotel enough for making my birthday a wonderful one. The small details in every thing we did in celebrating my birthday meant so much. We highly recommend this location and will be back again. To note: pets are allowed, however you can request to be moved away from them like we did during high tea.

Puis nous découvrons notre chambre exiguë et sombre (2 petites fenêtres) où nous peinons à passer entre les 2 couchages (cf photos) qui en plus était située très loin. Sans parler du canapé lit qui n’était pas confortable. Pour le prix de la chambre nous sommes très déçus. Nous appelons la réception et nous parlons au même homme. Nous demandons s’il est possible d’avoir une autre chambre de la même catégorie si possible avec 2 queen bed. Sa réponse sera catégorique et sans appel. Non, l’hôtel est complet et c’est ça ou rien, on peut se faire rembourser si notre chambre ne nous convient pas. Face à une telle réaction nous demandons le remboursement et nous trouvons contraint de trouver un autre hôtel. Ayant réservé via booking le process mettra 2h. Nous quitterons le Bel Air vers 20:15. 2h perdues après un long voyage avec des enfants là où nous voulions juste prendre une douche et sortir dîner. Nous avons connu meilleure arrivée en vacances. Nous regrettons d’avoir réservé la bas et ne recommandons pas cet établissement tant pour la qualité de la chambre que pour l’accueil. Dans la même gamme de prix nous avons préféré de très loin l’hôtel dans lequel nous avons finalement atteri.

This hotel is old and has a lot of charm to it. Lots of random stairs from lobby to valet floor to fitness center. Pros: Every worker we passed by was super friendly and always greeted us. The rooms were nice, shower pressure was amazing. We were on the fifth floor with ocean view but the palm trees covered the view. Bed was comfortable, there was a deck from our room to the pool, live music at the lobby lounge at night time, free 2 hours bike rental at their sister property shutters, right on the beach, and turn down service. Cons: the bed was VERY high. I’m 5’2 and had to step on the side to get up, it was the height of my waist. There was also little room in between the bed frame and chair so I’d always bang my knee into the corner of the wooden frame (of course it’s bruised now). I’d recommend covering the corners with cushions or something to help prevent future injuries. We went to the pool later in the day and it was empty but there were lots of trash/plastic cups everywhere. No clean towels but almost all chairs had dirty towels on them. They didn’t really tell us about the amenities either. If the cons were fixed this would be an ideal place to stay at and rating would change to a 5 star.

I finished a bike ride along Route 66 so it was great to walk 1/2mile to Shutters. There are plenty of food options in the area but the hotel restaurant serves light appetizers and drinks in the lobby (in addition to regular service). The front desk staff was so sweet. I needed to shower after I finished my ride but my husband hadn't arrived yet so they let me use the spa showers. The pool is heated which was great for the kids. It was exceptional to be so close to the beach, we were able to wander and play in the morning before any one else was there. Rooms had all the necessities and were comfortable and quiet. I'd definitely stay there anytime I'm in the area!

My much younger sister and her friend were approached multiple times by a coordinated group of older male guests who were trying to pressure them to leave the hotel and fly to another state (Las Vegas!! I reported this to hotel security, including Mr. Miguel Mora, the Director of Security. He confirmed that the individuals were visible on CCTV and even told me they had been logged into the hotel’s internal security system. I also provided the hotel with a clear, timestamped photo of one of the men taken in the lobby at checkout. Despite all of this, I was later told by Marriott and the property that they were unable to identify any of the guests involved and that “no suspicious activity was observed” — which directly contradicts what their own security team initially told me. It’s extremely disappointing to experience this level of inconsistency and to see how little interest the hotel ultimately had in providing a safe environment or taking a guest safety concern seriously. I travel frequently and chose the EDITION brand because of its reputation, but this experience showed me that the property is not equipped or willing to respond to situations that fall outside of their scripted talking points. I will not be returning to this location and cannot recommend it to anyone expecting a safe, professionally managed hotel environment. The staff at the hotel truly understand hospitality. Kat at the front desk was amazing. She went above and beyond to assist me. The room was a good size and overall well kept. My only complaint was when I pulled back the covers and found a strand of hair. I also read a lot of reviews about the volume of homeless individuals unfortunately there is a lot around the area, however it's not exclusive to this hotel or just this area. My suggestion is be aware of your surroundings and ladies don't walk alone at night. With that said no one bothered us while we walked around.

At no time did he ask what liquor brand we preferred, nor did he mention that they did not serve “well drinks”. Well drinks are typically lower-end alcohol, and therefore less expensive, and usually much less than a signature drink. Upon receiving the bill, we were stunned when we saw they had used Kettle One and Bacardi, both of which are top shelf. Our 2 drinks came to $48 before tip, which was even more than their signature drinks with high end alcohol. We mentioned it to the waiter and his response bluntly was “well, this is what we have”. It was a good first impression. We let them know we weren’t from LA and are visiting and have never stayed at a nice hotel before. For the price of the stay we felt it could’ve been more customer friendly. For example; we had no idea about the destination fees, because nobody told us. All around an excellent team that makes you feel welcome. Valet parking was a bit slow at times; one day was courteous perfection the other just OK. Dinner menu and room service quite limited. In room entertainment was excellent and there is a small pool and gym to keep you balanced. Then there was 1 tiny picture on the wall by the bed and it wasn't even centered. Whoever decorated this room it's like they got 5 minutes in and stopped. Pillows were way too soft and did virtually nothing. Not a good place for kids or families. There are no coffee makers in the room and you have to go to the lobby to get crappy stuff. No free continental breakfast and the prices for food are insane ($9 for a side of bacon, $21 for a basic breakfast burrito). Pool was nice. Check in and out takes ages. Be ready. Am I glad I stayed here once? Sure. Would I do it again? No.

This hotel is stunning and gives you that old Hollywood vibe property-wide. It has a vintage feel to it that makes it so special and worth a visit. The hotel staff were polite and we had some great interactions with their staff. We ate at many of the restaurants at the hotel including 25 Degrees and Tropicana Cafe and both were excellent, pricey but worth it. The pool area is a vibe (pretty awesome to swim in the same pool that Marilyn Monroe swam in). The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom is a little small but adds to that vintage charm. The location is prime as you are directly on Hollywood Blvd and steps away from all of the tourist spots. This was a stay I will remember forever and look forward to coming back in the future.

I have admired the building and aesthetic for yeeeears, but had never gone in. I figured it was just a standard hotel restaurant. I was wrong, this was magical. First of all, if you're a fan of 1930s design like I am, just sitting down and looking around is a treat. Then there's the gorgeous ocean view. The food was anything but standard, it was honestly one of the top 5 meals I've had in my life. The texture, the flavor, the attention to detail all top level, wow! Everyone was friendly and accommodating. No real issues with the room as the bed was super comfortable and I appreciated that the tv had chromecast. We didn’t experience any long waits for the elevator though we were on the third floor so stairs were an option as well. My only complaints were the noise from the bar/club reverberates up to the third floor well past midnight and you can hear the thumping bass. It’s an old building so sound insulation is not the best. It’s not THAT bad but could be a nuisance for light sleepers. Also, the coffee in the library is completely rubbish and tasted burnt. I get that it’s complimentary but my goodness was it awful. Recommend skipping that. Would stay here again if the price was right.

I will say...we did have some paranormal activity, which was cool also. The cleaning lady Lulu was so accommodating and always checked in on us while we were there. The wellness room was infront of the wellness club but there’s no sign so we didn’t know it was there. We booked a private session for the red light therapy but no one showed up for about 30 minutes we ended up cancelling. The room was next to housekeeping so there was constant noise throughout the whole night. Double check on your rooms location. The service could’ve been a lot better but overall we loved the concept it just wasn’t executed for the wellness hotel room.

Due to a lack of information, we lost our luggage in Las Vegas and had difficulties getting it on time from there for a connecting flight to LA over night. The only downside for us was the room itself. While the entire property had a old world charm, the room itself just felt old. The carpet, the lighting, the bathroom all just felt dated and we felt were lacking in comfort. Now that could've just been our room but I still would recommend this hotel to anyone making their way out to Santa Monica!

The Lobby and bar area was exceptionally beautiful, more of a luxurious modern style. The staffs were also very helpful and friendly, we arrived late because of our flight delay but they were still very accommodating despite of your arrival time, we were really taken care of til we check out. As per our room, it was facing the city side and the pool which was also a nice view for us, the rooms were very clean each time we walk into the room, it is always pleasing. The hotel itself was a tourist spot for us. We had a great stay and would love to stay here again!

I got a room with a view of the Hollywood sign and it was totally worth it. The welcome drink, happy hour, and super tasty room service were all major perks. They also let you borrow fun stuff like bikes and picnic baskets, and the pool and gym are a nice bonus. Parking is pretty much valet only since there’s not much street parking. The hotel feels calm and discreet. Our suite was beautiful, with a separate dressing room, spacious bathroom, dressing table with professional lighting (ideal for getting ready), a writing desk and a balcony for morning views.
