We were visiting from USA and celebrating our 15th Anniversary. Since we have been to The Bukhara at ITC Maurya in New Delhi we were looking forward to dining at this place. The ambience was decent. They sat us at a table of 8 vs 4, which was really weird given the entire place was empty. Then different severs rolled in at different times and placing our appetizers at the far empty end of the table .. super bizarre. The food was below sub par and extremely disappointing. Salty to start with. The food presentation was sloppy and given the reputation of the restaurant it was very surprising how they could let this mess leave the kitchen. The chicken was dry and tasteless, again heavy on the salt… there are other ingredients. The drink order the second time took forever and it arrived after we had paid the check. The famous daal Bukhara was dry, cold and not upto its known standards like the one in Delhi. We know good food and this was a disaster of a meal. 😞🙁 Update: 3/28 The Head of Food and Beverage contacted me and inquired to what transpired. He was generous and offered us a visit back with a complimentary meal and we were happy to know he cared and was willing to make things right. Unfortunately we were leaving the following day so we could not go back. I appreciate his thoughtfulness and willingness to make things right. It was much appreciated.

The overall experience was quite average. The food quality was okay, but nothing special to mention. The sambar was decent, but the Rasam was really disappointing — it had a strange smell and the taste was quite off. The service definitely needs improvement. Although it was Sunday, this time we had little average experience regarding staff service as restaurant got full they weren't able to cope up and we had wrong serving one time and very delayed service. This wasn't expected from hospitality like Express Hotels. We could leave after almost 2 hr and 15 min due to slow service. Will definitely think 10 times before planning again.

The interior and atmosphere was good. The food was kind of disappointing. The prices did not match the taste, to be honest. Everything tasted bland and almost the same. The lassi was good though, but it is not something that can be easily messed up. The aaloo tikki chaat just had aaloo tikki, sauces and pomegranate seeds. It lacked any crunchy or chaat elements to be honest. The Kulcha and Amritsari Paratha lacked flavour. Even the green chutney and aachar (complimentary) were not it. The chhole that came with it was also bland. I can understand the restaurant wanting to keep the taste as per the major clientele but I still missed the expected burst of flavour. The red garlic chutney was yummy (complimentary) though. The adjacent table was not cleaned from before we arrived or even after we left. Gave them 3 stars on food and got questioned on that, but that was just them being concerned to make things better, I guess. Overall I genuinely liked the atmosphere, the interior has been set up beautifully. If only the food was good.

The food quality and taste was really nice. Definitely value for money kinda place. They can improve on their service a little. We went here on a weekday evening. Upon being seated, there was a definite delay in offering the menu card and water. Later, we decided on having a plate of chicken biryani and a couple of chaas. The waiter was knowledgeable enough about the quantity and helped in estimating the portion size accurately. Onions and lemons arrived, with a long hair twining through them. We flagged it, it was replaced promptly. The food arrived soon. Beautifully decorated with Birista and well cooked chicken pieces inside. Except, not all were chicken. We did find and identify at least one piece which was mutton. There's a reason mutton is called red meat and chicken white meat, the difference is very evident. Anyway, us being non vegetarians anyway, we did not cause havoc, but told the manager later. His first reaction was of denial, then, when presented with photographic proofs, it changed to apology and being offered a new plate, had we raised it then. He could have waived off the bill, as a note of apology and thanks for not causing havoc amongst other customers, but that thought comes only if you believe in customer service.
