The trails and visitors center were closing at 5 and we had about an hour to explore before the gates shut but we were able to walk around and climb to the top of the temple mound (there's also parking at the bottom of the steps but we opted to walk from the visitors center). Between the natural beauty and the cultural significance of the area, it's a must visit. The visitor center has very informative displays and a large amount of artifacts to view. I suggest starting off there to give yourself a good background before viewing the mounds. If you're a gift shop fan like me, the one here is small but mighty. I was happy to see they had items from local artisans for sale as well as the usual shirts/books/ magnets. The folks working in the visitor center were lovely as well. The mounds and trails were spectacular. Trails were well maintained and easy to follow. If you're limited on how much walking you can do, many mounds are visible from multiple parking areas along the road through the site. There is a staircase that takes you to the top of the largest mound which provides spectacular views and lets you immerse yourself in the significance of the site. Hiking trails are available around the area, and are all fairly short but pleasant hikes. There are many seating areas throughout if you need to rest or just want to sit and appreciate the area. Definitely bring of water and sunscreen because it's Georgia and the areas around the mounds are mostly in direct sun. There was a large amount of wildlife around as the park was not very crowded. The thing I was most surprised by was the amount of native wildflowers and other flora through the area. If you're a native plant lover, you'll find an unexpected treat here. I spent about 4 hours at the park and didn't make it through everything, so if you're a real history buff or like to meander, you could easily spend a whole day.

First they definitely overbooked because they tried to fit 2 schools with several classes in and it’s only so big. I went into the gift shop no one greeted me or even smiled for that matter and they were talking as I came in but then stopped as I was shopping around and just stared at me while I was shopping around which made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcoming, I almost didn’t want to buy anything but I only did it for my son or I would have left, I also thought some of the items were overpriced. If they didn’t overbook and seem so frantic at times it may have been more enjoyable.

The lady I spoke with at the office was very sweet. The paths are narrow but you can drive around if you don't want to fight the hills. Beautiful scenery all around. I especially Iove the layers to it and all of the little steps to get from one level to the next. Be careful though, some are loose. There's a lot of history here like the Allman brothers and band member. The Hebrew burial ground was interesting and my favorite spot in Rose Hill. I can't read or speak Hebrew but it makes me want to learn. My little girl is very sensitive, she particularly feels for the children's grave. She laid dandelions on the children's graves when she spotted them and would tell me what she thinks they would be doing if they were alive today. So sweet. I recommend it to anyone who has a little extra time for a stroll. There's also flag that you can go towards to get to the soldiers area. It's a nice memorial with some informative plaques. I think there's something for everyone wether your a history buff, photographer or just needing to get in a few extra steps for the day. Both Brenda and husband Wayne delivered very informative and insightful details on the home and family. Wayne has a tremendous knowledge of the Civil War and it’s impact on Macon. I missed out on even getting a beverage, because I found the drink fountain just before we left. It’s not anywhere near the ordering counter but down a hallway on the way to the restroom. When I walked in, the first thing I thought to myself was, oh, this isn’t “a” joint, this is “the” joint. I was quickly taken to my table and handed the menu. What I Ordered: Just a quick note here… it took less than 2 minutes from the time I placed my order until I got my plate. They’re impressively fast. I have literally waited longer at a fast food restaurant. So if you're in a hurry, this is an outstanding solution. Biscuits and Gravy with a side of Bacon and 2 Scrambled Eggs = $15.00 The biscuits are the star here. They're crispy on the outside and perfectly textured on the inside. Not too dense, not too flaky. The bacon was crispy perfection and the eggs were delicious. The gravy on the menu says it is served with a sausage gravy but it's actually their peppermill gravy with some sausage cut up on top of the biscuit then they pour the peppermill gravy on top. So it's not really sausage gravy but in essence, it tasted pretty good. Though I have to admit, there's nothing like a real sausage gravy. Overall, I really enjoyed my breakfast. I “people” watched and saw many folks picking up “to go” orders, a group celebrating a birthday breakfast and quite a few people walked in coming from a 3rd shift of work. H & H Soul Food is located at 807 Forsyth Street and they have free parking in their parking lot. Where should I go next?

That makes me so sad because this used to be a beautiful city. Walking through this park we saw trash all over the banks of the pond, the playground equipment was dirty on all 3 playgrounds. There were homeless all over the park. Worst of all, we walked passed one of the bathrooms and there was the largest pile of human feces any person has ever seen ever. It was covered in flies and people just walked by like it was normal. There were grounds keepers every where.. I would say do better but yall won't. We'll just go back to Lincoln, thanks for the reminder of why we dont come to macon.

She took it so seriously that I was very impressed by Ashlyn's concern and hospitality to make sure that my partner would be able to enjoy the food. We also appreciated that she noticed my partner and I's Straw Hat pirate shirts from One Piece. She has such a wonderful personality and really knows how to engage guests. A wonderful hostess! This was my 2nd time eating at Kinjo's. The first time, I had only ordered food for delivery. Dining in is definitely the way to go, it's the best way to enjoy all the food fresh! Looking forward to my next visit, definitely one of my favorite dining locations in Macon now!
