We were driving thru from Florida and we stopped for dinner. We sat at the bar, which was quaint and welcoming. They had a fabulous array of seasonal autumn cocktails. I ordered the Mrs Rogers and was properly balanced. We also decided on the deviled eggs, the farm salad, and we split the ginger pumpkin bisque pork chop. Everything was incredible, even all the attentive staff who always checked in on us. This is our second time stopping here for dinner and it hasn’t disappointed yet ❤️

They raved on and on about the food and beer. I’m not a beer drinker but definitely love food. So I came for the experience. Ordering is done at a counter and then delivered to your perch. The dining area is filled with brewing equipment and has high ceilings. As you can imagine, the acoustics help the sound resonate, and it has a cafeteria roar. The food has nice presentation but the flavor was lacking. Basic average burgers and limp natural cut fries. The cheese curds wanted to be good but the beer batter was too light and it lacked the texture to complement the gooey cheese. I don’t drink, so I did not have a beer delivered to the table. I missed out on even getting a beverage, because I found the drink fountain just before we left. It’s not anywhere near the ordering counter but down a hallway on the way to the restroom. Ate there at lunch. Prices are still high but the quality is better. The service has improved also. Although, the person who took my order sat down to eat and didn't inform the other person about my desert. The food was very tasty but was not spicy as I requested. Most of the tables have cracks in the polyurethane tops. Most of the decor is dated but the food is fresh and worth the trip. (7 months ago) Before pandemic, this was my favorite Indian restaurant. Ate here 3-4 times a month. Yesterday was the time I returned since covid. Lot has changed. No buffet. Prices have increased and portions are smaller. They were supposed to be vegan but had butter and cheese on them and in 15 yrs going to this location - or any location - I have never been presented with this. I also ordered a large vegan pizza which was not vegan, so that was a huge waste of food. I ordered a small thin crust regular pizza for a family member - she said it was gross but mostly inedible because it’s a thin crust but had so much cheese and toppings that the crust just broke away and she wasn’t even able to put a slice in the toaster oven to reheat. It felt so out of the norm I couldn't believe this was truly a Mellow Mushroom. First, it took us a good bit longer to get seated than you would expect at any restaurant, especially one that was not very busy and decently staffed. Then we were sat right next to the restrooms so we could enjoy our meal to the never ending chorus of toilet flushes and squeaking doors. It took another 10minutes for our server to even come to our table. We ordered a pretzel bite app with 2 sauces and when it arrived it was missing one of the sauces. We told our server it was no big deal, as long as it wasn't on the bill (we were stopping by on the way to Savannah so we didn't have time to prolong our dining experience). Then our pizza arrived missing a topping and a spatula but I also realized we were never given any silverware and when I brought this to the attention of the young lady who brought out our pizza she returned with packets of plastic togo cutlery... there was no way I was going to be able to cut up the pizza for our 2 toddlers with plastic knives and a fork. But I figured I would make due because surely they must be out of clean silverware? When our actual server came by we told her about the missing topping and again just asked to keep it off the bill but also if we could get a spatula to serve the pizza and a metal knife and fork. She returned with the spatula and I saw her grab us several sets of silverware rolled in a napkin so the other server had intentionally just provided us with the togo plastic cutlery. I am not one to leave negative reviews, you can check my profile to confirm it, but this location was just such a sour experience and a tarnish to the Mellow Mushroom brand. I highly recommend you skip a stop here if you're looking for a nice hassle free family dinner.
