The food was fantastic, they informed us that they had just changed the menu, I had the chicken fricassee, beautifully rich and creamy sauce cooked to perfection and with real quality presentation. My wife had the beef bourguignone which was rich in flavour and delicious. Daughter had the small portion of mussels with fries on the side, which was lovely and still a generous portion. We also had a chicken and chorizo pizza to share as a starter, very nice but in total, probably more than welcome needed!! Will try the desserts next time. This place seemed nice with its outdoor “pop-up” terrace to enjoy the last of this summer’s alfresco dining! I went in the pub to order which is very nicely done out, a lot smaller than it looks from outside but a nice cosy atmosphere. We ordered two burgers and a ham sandwich for my 2yr old (nothing else on the menu for him really, it would be nice to see a children’s section but maybe they don’t want kids there really, hey-ho..) with a few glasses of coke and a fruit shoot came to just under £50. The guy behind the bar who served me was very good, polite, friendly etc. The food came out via the waitress who asked us if we wanted any sauces etc, promptly brought them before rushing off. Fair enough she was busy so I’ll let her off, admittedly we did have burgers, but, some cutlery for the salad and chips would of been good!!! The beef in the burgers was clearly high quality, very tasty too. The ham sandwich was good quality too. Overall a good experience but a bit pricey really so 4/5 from me.

Great night and venue all done by volunteers who were great and so friendly. The cinema got to be seen to appreciate, with a bar and lovely snacks. It’s a real step back in time.. there is a small upper floor with classic cinema seats in a couple of rows then downstairs there are a couple of sofas and armchairs but in the main there is a selection of chairs and tables where you can either enjoy an intimate date or share a few bottles of wine with friends. The building itself is stunning and during the day you can enjoy the surroundings with tea and cake.. they show a wide selection of films, lots of art house and classics often with a small delay to the big hitters meaning you can wait to treat yourself. Bookings can be made online in advance with membership options and reasonable prices. There is no parking but there are a lot of free street options in the evenings and local carpark options. During the day you can park up for a free 2 hours at Morrisons and take the short walk up the hill to enjoy the daytime cafe.
