The menu looked amazing in the hotel room and the delicious smell wafting through the door certainly had our taste buds dreaming. However that is where the dream ends. Staff wandering around aimlessly and not paying any attention to guests. Table booked for 7, and we arrived early to have drinks at the bar. We were seated a little early yet half an hour past before order taken, and a further 10 minutes before we even got our drinks. 19.50 and my husband has just had to chase the order. This is totally unacceptable and to be honest if it hadn't already been paid for I would be telling the staff to poke it. That said when our smothered platter finally arrived it was delicious albeit minus the coleslaw and BBQ dip. Puddings ordered, came a lot quicker than the mains and we're okay. Not going to be rushing back 😒

Restaurant was lovely staff very friendly and polite. Unlimited cooked and continental breakfasts. Also as much juice, tea and coffee. Downfall was as food is served to order our breakfasts came served luke warm, sausages were not cooked on all sides, bacon over done. Food presentation was nice, but didn't enjoy the breakfast it as it wasnt hot enough and didn't ask for any more. Also there wasn't a sufficient supply of pancakes everytime my son went up to the continental counter there wasn't any pancakes. Usually we would have another plate of breakfast items but due to temperature served we didn't bother. Kids eat free think with every paying adult

I am always seated really quickly whether I have first booked a table or have no reservations at all. The staff are very attentive but not too overly moddycoddling, giving enough time to choose dishes, whilst not leaving you sitting around feeling frustrated. For today's meal I was greedy and opted for 2 mains; the Thai Green Curry (Vegetarian), and the Chicken and Bacon toasted club sandwich. A very good price at around 12 British pounds for both meals!. Both dishes were delicious. I especially enjoyed the sweet potato in the Green Curry, an addition I'll definitely be adding to my own recipe next time. The Curry was not overly spicy but had a nice moderate kick of fresh chilli. The sandwich was very standard but cooked well and all the ingredients fresh. Overall another great meal at the Queen Inn, my favourite local eat for both value and great service. I have also included in my review pictures of the Sunday Roast. I usually opt for the trio of meats. The food is beautiful and delicious for the price, and for only 1 pound extra you can upgrade to unlimited roasties, gravy, and Yorkshire puds (Which I always do by the way). I leave feeling very satisfied and very gluttonous, but often with a smile on my face :). Thank you and a shout out to lovely Lauren, who's been my waitress a few times now, topped me up on tatas and yorkies, and always with a pleasant smile. Much appreciated Lauren. After eating I'd highly recommend a walk around the local Dartmouth Park RSPB to alleviate any guilt and calories. If visiting the Birmingham, or West Bromwich area I'd highly recommend you try this place. Tasty food and really friendly and welcoming staff. A nice escape from the often miserable frowns of West Bromwich town.

Made sure to check for allergies and gave us the necessary binder. Food was also amazingly portioned, aka big sizes. Also priced pretty well, had a steak and it was cooked to my perfection , a medium rare and the perfect crimson colour for me. Drinks were great, toilets were nice and clean. Overall atmosphere was amazing. Bit of a long wait for food despite an early evening dinner of 5pm and emptier service that soon picked up at around 7pm. Nevertheless the service and food was worth it. Also appreciate the free parking available, when there's space.

We were a table of 6 and once seated, the service was good. Good vegan choice on the menu. One of our group is vegan and said the hot dog was really good. We enjoyed every meal except the chicken dinner. The chicken was a weird texture. The staff seemed rushed off their feet to be honest. We like this brand of pub and normally go to the Lakeside in Oldbury but thought we would try here for a change. The atmosphere and service is definitely better in the Lakeside. Lovely venue. A hidden gem with nice scenery. Ample amount of parking. Toilets kept nice and clean. Restaurant is very nicely decorated with a nice atmosphere. Food had pre ordered with it being a large party. All orders were correct. The food was amazing! All very fresh and well presented. I had the mushroom arancini for starter and the braised beef for main. The meat was cooked to perfection. Some other meals we had were the soup of the day, halloumi fries, chicken skewers, cajun chicken pasta, fish and chips and kids bolognese. I cannot fault any of the meals. Excellent value for money for the set courses. My only feedback is that the staff could have been a bit more 'smiley!' Overall, a nice evening and would highly recommend the food.

I had the sea bass with potatoes my friend had the fish and chips but ordered sweet potato fries instead. The drinks came quickly and shortly our food came. They didn't swap the chips for sweet potato fries, they had to be cooked while my friend waited. My seabass looked and tasted nice. We knew we were on a time limit, but we were asked three times if we had finished, when I had food on my fork to eat. The last time the waiter came I was just about to eat and he asked if we had finished. I told him to take the plate whilst he reminded us they need the table at 2pm it was 1.55pm. We didn't order a dessert, no point considering we felt rushed to eat and constantly being asked if we had finished. I've removed my 4⭐ review. I had afternoon tea with friends on a Saturday afternoon. I've got to say I thought our afternoon tea, very poor! They brought out the cake stand. We looked at it and all I can stay it didnt look appetizering! The top shelf had 2 scones, one plain and one with currants, and what we thought was a caramelised onion quiche. The second shelf had what looked like victoria sponge cake and some sort of chocolate cake or biscuit. The bottom shelf had one ham, one egg, a small minute wrap and two sausages rolls. Ideally there should have been two of everything and identical. We shared the plain scone, neither of us liked currants. How do they propose we share the one ham and one egg sandwich and the tiny wrap between two people. It doesn't make sense! My friend asked for no pork and they made up a separate plate of food, which looked like it was taken from a buffet table. I assumed they thought she was vegetarian because all the items were vegetarian. Whereas they could have done coronation chicken/plain chicken or tuna and cucumber sandwiches. It all looked slap dash to me. My friend had to wait for her food, when the could have brought it all together on separate plates. Even the water we asked for came with the three glasses sacked and left on the table for us to sort out ourself. Whereas they separate the glasses and pour the water for you. I know others have given good reviews for the afternoon tea, but we will definitely not have afternoon tea here again. Compared to other reviewers photographs taken at the same place, what we had on the day was appauling! I've had better afternoon tea,! I thought the service was poor, we didn't leave a tip...

However, our recent visit for afternoon tea was quite disappointing compared to previous visits. Staff very friendly, all very clean and efficient etc. BUT sorely disappointed with the accessibility, lifts very small and therefore not really an option to wait for with tight turnarounds. Only five chairs provided during lunch/coffee breaks which when suffering from a long term health condition which causes fatigue is really disappointing. I was left feeling so unwell on day 1 I ended up having to leave early and go back to my hotel to sleep so I would be able to attend any of day 2, this would have been helped by being able to have somewhere to sit down while eating, or a quiet space to escape to. Simple things like having arms on chairs would also help this - even having some chairs available with arms so you aren’t having to hold yourself up the whole time whilst sitting in lecture halls. Lots of split venues up and down stairs so constant climbing up and down stairs (or waiting for the lifts). Food was “alright” - it had been massively oversold, we were told the conference had returned to this venue based on overwhelming positive feedback two years previously, however the food was just basic, the venue used last year was much better in this regard and in terms of accessibility. After joining not long after the lockdown I started my path onto the water, this commenced at the local reservoir in the summer where I learnt the basic controls of the boat on flat water along with many touring trips along our local scenic rivers. We run a programme of community activities including Junior and Youth Clubs to deter anti-social behaviour from children and young people and in the past year have taken young people to outward bound activities, West End shows, the Space Centre, Science Fairs etc and involve young residents in estate wide litter picks to provide a positive attitude to their home community. If I was going to be super picky it would be that the pineapple on the menu wasn’t detectable on the salad, which was a shame as it would have make an excellent dish exceptional. It was our first time here and we were positively surprised. First the staff was very friendly and welcoming which gave us a good first impression. Then the restaurant itself is cozy with small rooms with few tables. We were seated in a very quiet place which was exactly what I asked during my reservation. The food was very delicious. My Husband had the nut roast with chestnut and butternut. It was served with Yorkshire pudding, gravy, potato, carrots, cabbage and a side with peas. Even the public car park nearby was full so we had to wait for someone to leave for an available space. This is our new favourite address is Broadway and we would love to come back.

We stopped at this pub on a long walk on Sunday, without a booking. It was very busy so we weren't expecting to get in, but the team spent some time working out comings and goings and managed to find a way to fit us in if we were happy to wait for 15 mins (which was great for us).
