Any time of the year is a great time to visit Fellows Riverside Gardens. Take a magical stroll through absolute beauty! Lots of events are planned throughout the year. The evening walk through to see the Jack o lanterns and Christmas lights are a definite highlight. I’ve been there by myself to take some time to reflect and I’ve gone with friends and family to share the beauty. It’s also a great place for photography. The Gardens are closed on Monday so make sure you plan another day.

Absolutely one of the most beautiful venues for a wedding! Our ceremony was held in the rose gardens, and our reception was in the hall on the lower level of the building. The entire staff was so friendly and helpful, and all our guests loved how convenient everything was. There's so many spots around the gardens for photos, and it's large enough that we were able to have 100+ guests attend the ceremony. Inside, we had 200 comfortably. And, last but not least, the food from Inspired by Kravitz was very good! We had ZERO complaints about anything!

Beautiful free gardens, art gallery and cafe!
It was a fantastic pit stop between Cleveland and Pittsburgh. Good place to stretch your legs, have a snack and learn about the area.
The grounds were partially under construction for expansion to add a children's garden. The regional flora representation is impressive. The only drawback was the lack of clear signage for the perennialsand trees. Many of the signs were for spring bulbs that were out of season.
A curiosity is the sculptures in the top corner beyond the mall. They were beautiful but had no plaques to indicate the artist.

The only local planetarium, so it's a good experience. Strange hours because it's actually a classroom at YSU. But they open it to the public as well. There is NO ventilation or air at all to the standing area and tickets must’ve been oversold because there was basically a crowd crush incident at ice nine kills . FOUR people in JUST the group around us had passed out, as well as my boyfriend who was rushed in an ambulance to the ER with a dangerously low blood sugar and extremely high temperature. Not to mention, none of the security helped. Me and other fans had to carry him to the medics. Getting a refund for my tickets, BE CAREFUL!!! Medics were amazing though.

The Covelli Music Center itself is an awesome venue—easy to get around, great atmosphere, and perfect for a night of live music. The show lineup was a mixed bag, though. The Funeral Portrait completely won us over live (new favorite for sure), and Kim Dracula delivered what was hands down one of the best sets I’ve seen all year—even compared to festival performances.
Dayseeker, on the other hand, didn’t quite hit the mark for us, and Ice Nine Kills closed the night on a flatter note. We ended up leaving early since the energy wasn’t as engaging or inclusive as the earlier bands. Spencer’s decision not to interact with the crowd was fine in itself, but in an arena setting, a little more appreciation for the moment would have gone a long way.
Venue experience? Solid 10/10. Concert as a whole? More of a 6/10—saved by two phenomenal openers.

I had my ceremony and reception done at Stambaugh Auditorium and had an amazing experience. I primarily worked with the event coordinator, Shannon Burns, who is fantastic! Shannon helped me organize the wedding every step of the way. She was very professional, patient, and accommodating. She took every request I made into consideration and provided me with her own ideas and expertise as well.
Both the ceremony and reception were done upstairs in Christman Hall. The hall was beautiful and Stambaugh itself looked amazing with all of the holiday decor/decorations throughout the building. Everyone we worked with were so professional and helpful. The venue itself was actually a decent price, however, be mindful that you do have to book one of their approved separate caterers which adds more to the cost, especially if you are trying to stick to a budget.
All in all, the experience was great and I highly recommend booking Stambaugh Auditorium for a special event!

I have been to Mill creek park 2 times now and each time I’ve left feeling refreshed and happy. I started my latest adventure at lanternmans mill parking area and ventured to the suspension bridge to get some photos. I loved seeing the wildlife wondering around the park, squirrels, black squirrels, chipmunks , beautiful birds and even deer. I seen nothing but smiling faces as everyone seemed to have a positive energy from this place. The park was very well maintained and was happy to see there wasn’t a bunch of garbage all over the place. The trail was very easy to walk on, would not have taken a stroller on it though. I made my way back to lanternmans mill to take some more photos, the mill is beautiful and very relaxing to just stare at the waterfall, all in all I can’t wait to come back and spend more time exploring and finding new things. 2 thumbs up from me :)

I walk here quite often. I use the walking path which is super nice. It’s nice to see other people always out as well walking, running, bike riding, etc. No matter what time during the day I go there are always people which is nice because I feel safe. The parking can be an issue but there are two ends you can park at. They also have cameras incase anything was to happen to you or your vehicle which I really appreciate. Great concept, but not ran very well. Seems like there's a lot of penny wise & pound foolish decisions being made. Who the hell doesn't turn on the heat when it's 50° and raining outside?
Not only that, but a lot of the vendors were in this like back room that somebody mentioned otherwise I wouldn't even have thought to go back there - and only half the lights were turned on. I'm not sure why you wouldn't mix vendors so you generate foot traffic for everyone? On top of all that, it was filthy. Like, the walls behind the stands still had factory dirt on them so I guess the owner doesn't have a hose?
What's the point in putting out all your propane heaters if you're not going to turn them on 🙄 but something tells me that's another cut in the O&M budget in favor of profit. The place still has its big infrared heaters I don't understand why those wouldn't be fired up.
So yeah, fix the heat, turn the lights on, clean the place up, paint it, and mix up who is staged where and it could be a lot more fun.

The point is the leave nature as is—not to ruin it by paving trails so you don’t need to watch where you are walking. There are some graded trails for those with actual mobility issues. Who gives a one star because their child trips on a step? For we locals, the Ford Nature Center is yet another reason to be proud of our valley. I am one who learned to love and appreciate nature from the patient and wise Mr. Washington, and I know he would approve!

We are locals, but I’ve never been to this nature center. On a whim I decided to check it out. It was way better than I had even expected, absolutely beautiful, very informative. I learned a lot about Millcreek Park, birds, nature, and some of our local history. The staff was very kind. There is a gift shop, but it does not cost anything to go in and see inside the facility or walk the trails outside. I don’t know how anybody could complain about this place. Mill Creek Park does an excellent job!

We visited the Deyor Performing Arts Center in Youngstown, Ohio for a special event. It contains the Edward W. Powers Auditorium, which was built in 1931 and was originally called the Warner Theatre named after Sam Warner. The style is Art Deco and the auditorium contains some very interesting art. The Auditorium hosts events throughout the year and you can find schedule by visiting the Deyor website. This is one of those mostly forgotten venues that only locals are aware of. Definitely worth the visit.

Horribly organized, next to useless staffing. We showed up early, and it took over an hour to get through the front door. They kicked people out for having a purse. There was no sign that said you couldn't have a purse, and no staff said anything as they saw people pile up outside. There is no way to find your seat without assistance. The staff hid in the shadows, watching people walk around in circles searching for a seat. They really let people walk around in the dark and disrupt the show for over 30 minutes. Enjoy the small seats! At least it's a pretty building on the inside.

Refreshing!
On our most recent trip to Ohio as part of our summer road trip (we are from PA) we chose to veer off to let the kids cool off. It was nice knowing that there was a splash pad available at this location. Not only was it a place to cool off, but also one to get absolutely drenched if you wanted to.
The theme of the splash pad appeared to be a garden. There were flowers with sprays of water that came up out of them, and what looked to be tulips in the area that had buckets that would fill and dump when they were completely filled. There were also archways you could run through and mushrooms that poured pools of water.
Restrooms over by the par, three golf course, made it easy to change for the splash park and then out of your wet clothes afterward.
There was a birthday party going on when we arrived so there were a lot of kids to play with. Behind the splash pad was a playground area and some pavilions.
Might I add that the people in this area, at least one that we came across was very honest. Our daughter had left her phone in the restroom and we had been about 45 minutes away when she realized that she had left it so we returned. We called the par 3 and nobody had turned one in and checked the bathrooms and did not find. A few of the family members from the birthday were still sitting socializing and I walked over to ask if they had happened to see a phone that was left in the restroom and one of them handed it over to me. I believe she was waiting to see if someone would show up and she was keeping it safe. You don’t see this a lot today so I was very thankful to her and just wanted to mention that there are some wonderfully honest people out there and that, I thank her over and over again for making my daughters day!
I will definitely return to this area on future visits!

The playground is one my favorites. Esp the mushroom nature one near sand box. The sandbox had dinosaur bones you can dig to... Heard they removed it but not sure if that is accurate. I thought that was an amazing hidden diamond so I hope they didn't remove them. And it was just refilled heavily with more sand.
Splash pad there but not sure if a button to press or not. We were unable to get the water running last time we were there. Not sure if it has button like other parks or if certain times. Wish they had information signs clearly stating.
They looked to have hockey place and volleyball court. Pavilion.

Definitely a hidden gem.
Only complaints were the parents not watching or correcting their children's behaviors. Ex. My son (5) had a much older kid (10+?) that threw sand right in his face and eyes. Another few girls that were putting sand in the water fountain that was already overflowing and backed up. Trash seems to be an issue. Parents not cleaning up after their kids or kids not cleaning up after themselves.
It's such a nice playground and park. It's a shame to see people misuse and abuse it.
People tend to ruin good things... I hope to go back and see it cleaner and parents watching their children better.

Today was my first time that I went to the library in Downtown Youngstown, and I was so impressed and surprised that there were a lot of books and activities for people to do, including for children.
This library is handicapped accessible and has signs in Braille for the blind and visually impaired.
The aisles were neat and clean, and everything was labeled big enough for people to see, including myself.
Also, the library offers many services, and it is a perfect place to take pictures and selfies.

Attended the 2022 Brew Ha Ha Summerfest at the library, a fundraiser for children's programs. Nice facility! Security guard was a little rude though. I was busy studying for finals, minding my own business, and he tells me the library closes in 30 ( which I was well aware) and then states “ getyo feet out that chair” (rudely). Didn’t know that there was a facility rule on how to sit in a chair. I was cross-cross-applesauce, fuzzy socks (no shoes on the chair of course). Then, as I’m packing up walking to the door, he goes right in front of me and locks to door, and says in a smirky tone “ just locked it you have to go out another door”. Sir, you knew I was about to walk out that specific door and couldn’t wait or unlock it for a second? This was the security guard working 12/9. He can lose the attitude and be a little nice to public visitors. Anyways, as I mentioned before, the facility is beautiful and a nice quiet place to study!

The park is a great place, very well taken care of. It is a great place to take your kids. It has a dog park as well. They even have Frisbee golf there. But our favorite place in the park is the playground. As an adult, I wish I could have played at a playground like the one here. They have a castle for the older kids to play at. We rented the rotary room in the Lariccia building and couldn't have had a better experience for my bridal shower. The staff was wonderful to deal with, they set up all tables and chairs for us and we did not have to tear them down. The facility was clean and the kitchen is immaculate! We couldn't get over how nice it was. I would highly recommend renting facilities from boardman park over other local parks in the area!

I went just for the dog park. You have to be a member to visit the dog park. Im not a resident of Youngstown, I was just driving through and wanted to let my dog run around and couldn't because of it. You have to pay $40 a year for residents or $65 a year for non residents. I asked a guy who is a member how it works. There's a code on the door. The park overall does look very nice and inviting. I specifically went for my dog and wasn't allowed to use that area. Im sure if you went to the park for other areas, you would love it there.
