Gorgeous park with a cafe serving tasty food and drinks including vegan ice-cream.
Lots of birds, squirrels and a lake and streams/small waterfalls.
We come here every time we holiday in the Scarborough area.
There are disabled toilets and my husband can navigate about 95% of the park using his electric wheelchair.
There were cute goslings there this time round and there are plenty of ducks, gulls and geese with a few swans also gracing visitors with their regal presence.
Definitely worth a visit, with boat rides and picturesque walks etc to keep you active

The park has multiple entrances, includes a lake (with island), pedalos (dragon boats), cafe, mini golf etc. We visited straight after having some train rides just over the road. There was a bit of a wait for the dragon boats, but it is the school summer holidays...! We comfortably fitted the whole family in... although I regretted being volunteered by the kids to do the peddling!

Stunning park close to North Bay beach. The park has something for everyone. The main attraction would be the pedal boats.
There is an elevated island in the middle with an oriental building to the top. There is ample seating and toilet facilities.

We used our English Heritage membership for entry to Scarborough castle for a slightly more relaxed hour or two after visiting a rather busy south bay area! The walk up the hill to the castle was broken up by a quick play on the playground...
Upon entering we was given the option of audio guides and also advised that there was some taskmaster activities, which obviously appealed to the kids as they have limited attention for actually going round the castle ruins!
After listening and reading about some of the history we proceeded to the taskmaster activities, given instruction on how it runs and got started. There were 6 activities in total, all slightly different. These are great if you can be in a group of 4 to 6 people (with one acting as the scorer / judge for points). Kids (and grown ups) all enjoyed this and it was a bit different! After taking some 'winner' photos we carried on round the headland.
The views from the headland / castle are wonderful, and there is so much history to learn about. They did have some guided tours which when I listened in on one sounded really informative! It's useful as a reminder that in terms of a castle there is not much left, you can climb part of the keep and walls and walk round the headland area.
We enjoyed our visit, and the weather being pretty good certainly helped!

We had our dream wedding made a reality thanks to the Scarborough Spa!
We booked the Sun Court after our first look around with the fantastic Naomi, who painted a vivid picture of how stunning our day could be at this historic and breathtaking venue. We had always admired it from afar, but it is even more beautiful when inside and set up for a special day.
We booked not only due to this, but how much we felt we could trust Naomi and the team to handle something as special as our wedding & were proven right many times over.
Nothing was too much trouble for the team & the dream never too big, with every suggestion or request we made (including on the day!) met with a smile and a “no problem, of course we can”. We and our guests were floored and were raving about the service and how friendly all of the spa team were and how they had understood our vision as if it were their own.
The food was another amazing highlight, with the daube of beef just MELTING when pressed with a fork and the vegetarian options met with surprise by our guests who chose them, at just how generous and considered they were. Wedding food can be incredibly generic, but the dishes really stood out and were another memorable part of the day.
We could carry on forever about what we loved about our day; so will just say that we would absolutely recommend anyone on the fence to go ahead and book their big day here!

The Scarborough Spa is a great building 😁 parking is either in local car parks or street parking which can be difficult in the height of the summer season so we parked on a paid for private driveway for £3.50 just 10 minutes away. Security getting into the gig was quick with polite staff👍 No food allowed inside but you could buy inside at reasonable prices or go out with your wristband pass. Plenty of bars and a decent amount of very clean ladies loos 😜 you could take a small bottle of water into the venue but the biggest annoyance - nowhere to refill if needed and as it was sweltering outside it was double sweltering inside🥵 The bands were as always fabulous 😍 the lights and sound quality inside the Spa are brilliant and you can move around the venue whenever you feel like a change of view 😁 really looking forward to Ferocious Dog there later in the year 💯🥰

I didn't know what entirely expect from the museum, but it's really just a museum about geology and costal things. IT'S TINY and you will be out in just about 30 minutes, but then it's just a fiver. On the other hand, that grants you entry to the gallery too. You can go in the big oval room and then there are two more rooms. Really not the biggest. If it was not ant history of the town, I'd be giving 5*. But the entry is still reasonable unlike some other museums.

Small museum, but still some interesting exhibitions, especially the old maps/pictures of Scarborough. Visit takes around 30 minutes I would say, but I'd still recommend the Rotunda Museum.
Buying a ticket also gives you admission to the Scarborough Art Gallery, so it's definitely worth the £5.

This is a little hidden gem tucked away in a beautiful crescent just off the city centre. When I visited they had a wonderful if compact exhibition of works by Atkinson Grimshaw and another of works produced by local prisoners, which was powerful and moving. In Scarborough for a trip to the theatre and not very mobile at the moment, I decided to visit Scarborough Art Gallery.
There is a charge of £5 but this is actually for an annual pass to the Art Gallery and the nearby Rotunda Museum.
I explored the ground floor which had a small shop and 2 excellent exhibitions in place.
I would have liked to go up to the first floor, but there is no lift and the beautifully sweeping staircase was a little too challenging for me on this occasion.

Outstanding gallery, definitely one of my favorites. A wonderful, charming, oasis, of creative calm.
These days a small entry fee is required, three pounds. Which, considering, these extremely challenging, economic times we find ourselves in, is more than fair.
Once purchased, it allows multiple visits.

The workers were very kind and passionate people. The exhibits, displays, and touch pool were very well taken care of.
I enjoyed the entire experience, though not all animals were available for viewing at the time I arrived. It was a wonder to see the land and sea life at this aquarium. My fave was the chameleon at the rainforest exhibit!
And absolutely adored the photos we took at the start of the tour. We just had to buy prints and downloads of the photos. Great experience!

Very good for adults and children. We found it very interesting and factual. We spent two and a half hours here, we didn't rush. You have to pay for parking which is not very much. We really enjoyed our visit to this sea life adventure. Easily accessible from town center via bus, it is open from 11-3. The tickets are affordable.
Toilets as you enter and you can also take photographs which you get to buy later on in the trip. So many beautiful aquatic creatures in this well maintained habitat, the staff is very well informed and there are many places to rest during the trip. We spent 3 hours there and could have spent more if the only bus out was not running at 1350 (the next bus is 5 and sea life closes 3).
Otter display was closed but the sharks and sea lions were our favorite. We got to see the sharks being fed and the gift shop was reasonably priced. We also met vipers! Each staff member was so friendly and lovely- thank you.
Loved our visit and will go again.

Have been here before but definitely almost 20 years ago. Went on a cloudy Thursday, just gone 10 am (all children had gone to school, our 15 year old wasn't starting back until the Friday). Friendly staff, all of them...one guy was telling us some really interesting information regarding the jellyfish, was nice of him to take the time to answer our questions. We were able to walk round leisurely as not hugely busy. Saw the seals being fed and talk by Josh who was funny and knowledgeable. Saw the penguins being fed also, Bev gave that talk I believe. Spent between 2-3 hours here. Daughter loved it as she's a fan of aquariums. Cafe was good, nice selection of regular lunch food, sandwich selection, toasties, hot dogs, chips, nachos, onion rings etc so easy for many "particular" eaters and reasonable pricing. Toilets very clean. We just had to buy the souvenir photos at the end as well 🤣

Visited with 2 friends using my Merlin Annual Pass and prebooked tickets to have cheaper tickets.
We attended the Seal, Penguin and Shark/Ray feeds and talks.
Niamh was amazing. The knowledge provided was educational but also fun. Engaging for both children and adults. Niamh’s visible love for the job made for an energy that was just contagious. She was very friendly and answered questions when asked by anyone.
The only negative was that there was construction work being done on the Otter habitat meaning that we were unable to see them. This also meant there was drilling and digging causing loud noises and re-directions around the complex. However this did not affect our day.
Just means we will have to come again when it re-opens next year.
A Fintastic day was had by us all.

I bought special tickets to to feed the Seals as a surprise for our 25th Wedding anniversary. This included a guided tour of the rest of the exhibits and our guide Bev was brilliant. We both use walking aids to get around and we didnt feel rushed. Once we made it to the seals we weee givena bucket of fish to feed them it was great to see them swimming round and catching the fish, we also got to feed the grey mullet. Included in the ticket was admission tickets to look round after the tour and a great breakfast cooked fresh, this was all before the doors actually opened to the public.
We had also booked to go to the Deep a few days later, but we found ourselves comparing it to the sealife centre and felt let down because of how great the sealife centre was. If you have the chance to do something special then I recommend paying to feed the Seals. A big thank you to all the staff (especially Bev) at Scarborough Sealife centre for making our visit so special and memorable.

After the walk down from the main Scarborough station the kids were excited to get on the train - one of the first in queue, predicting it might be busy...! The train takes about 10/ 15 mins to go from one station to the other, at which point you can jump off and have a wonder round before travelling back again. 4 decent slides for 1 to 4 people, a wave pool every 30 mins, nice kids area and 2 very hot outdoor pools. We went 3pm to 6pm (can see how busy it is when book), so fairly quiet, little queues on slides. Outside pool was fantastic with bubble jets on every 20mins or so, great when sun sets.
Clean changing rooms and a wristband locker system (given free when enter) makes it simple to come in and out if using cafe or loungers.
1 star reviews seem to be from people charged full price to watch (bizarre, should do spectators for £3 maybe?).

Overall i think if it wasnt a warm day and you couldnt use the outside loungers, i would find the price a little too much for the experience. The day we visited the lockers weren't working so we had to get staff to open and lock them, which seemed a little dodgy as they only wrote the locker number on the wristband and didn't check it every time. However, the place was great in terms of the outdoor pools, the splash area for kids and the outdoor loungers. It felt a bit like being on holiday (but not quite!). The food was quite good and we enjoyed some drinks on the loungers, but they were cleared off the loungers before our 4 year old had even drank half his drink!

Lovely water park, 3 hour time-slot gives you chance to ride all the slides a few times. The 4 person and 2 person slides were a lovely shared experience with the kids. All the slides were great for older kids as they were quite fast. The outside pool was really warm and it was a nice contrast to the cold rainy weather. The kids really enjoyed the wave pool too.
A bit of queueing for the slides, imagine this can be a bit much when it's really busy but it wasn't too bad when we visited and the queues looked long but went diwn quite quickly. The staff were really friendly and the shower facilities were good.

Loved it. Plenty of parking to start, changing rooms were clean. The swimming side was great, wave pool was decent, the outdoor heated pool was lovely. The 4 slides, what a laugh, went on all of them multiple times. The staff I found very friendly and helpful. If there's anything to pick at, is that i wouldn't eat there the cafe food is expensive. One warning would be to anybody who may struggle to walk the slides are up 2/4 flights of steep stairs. Overall 2 kids and 2 adults had a great afternoon and would definitely go back

Family of 3 went at 1530 on a wet and windy Thursday before October half term.
Friendly staff, pool and slides were excellent, changing rooms clean and well maintained. We used up the full three hours and thought it was good value for money. My only criticism was that some of the tables were not cleared of empty food and drink and cleaned down whilst it was quiet and the kitchen staff were stood chatting. However, all in all very good and we will be back again.

Visited Scarborough open air theatre this evening to see shed seven as well as opening acts. It is a lovely outdoor theatre with a very large capacity. The music atmosphere was great and obviously the band were amazing. Only thing that lets the venue down is the lack of bars / food to accommodate the large capacity of people! There were 2 bars to queue at for drinks but the lines went on forever so I didn’t bother and a gig is always better with booze!

Amazing venue that felt very intimate. We chose the tiered seating. From our view, you could see that the standing area was very narrow and main entry was from the left side as you look towards the stage. If you can definitely enter standing from the right side. We attended an Ayckbourn play. It was mediocre, but it was broadly a pleasant evening.
I am, however, utterly shocked by the lack of diversity in the audience. You can see almost everybody in an in-the-round setting, and other than one person everybody in the audience was white. The SJT are clearly restricting the access of people of colour to the performing arts. There should be no place for racism in Scarborough. The SJT needs to have any public support it receives withdrawn until it solves its problem.

The church of St Mary dates from 1150. It is believed to have been built by the masons that were employed by the castle and whether this is true or not what is certain is that it is the place where they would have worshiped.
Sadly, the church suffered severe damage during the English Civil War when it was used as parliamentary base for the troops to launch attack on the castle.
All of the original stained glass windows were destroyed during the English Civil War and the windows that we see today are all 19th and 20th century replicas.

This church offers cakes and refreshments (and the cakes looked so good) but we had sadly already eaten. A lovely broad bay with a sandy beach and lots of attractive beach huts, amongst which there seemed quite a thriving hut community. Having given notice by email on the morning of my visit that I wanted to research HMS Scarborough's visit to the town in June 1971, when I was a Royal Navy cadet, the three volunteers hadn't been passed my request by whoever answered.

Wow I loved this place. It was like stepping back in time when I went through the doors. I was holidaying and thought I would go to the cinema. The latest James Bond film was on.
I was shown a plan of the seating and asked where I would like to sit. It was really busy. I went up the steps and was shown to my seat.
The seats were like they were back in the 1950's red velvet, and nowhere to put your drink. There was a stage with red curtains pulled, where you could see the screen behind them.
A young man came selling sweets etc at the end of each row, from a wooden box. I loved it. The place filled up and the film began. There wasn't a sound from that audience.
What a fabulous night. If you live local go to.it, if you visit Scarborough make it a must. Loved it!

Took my niece 5/8/2025 to see the Legend of Ochi and unfortunately it felt like the cinema needed a good clean, it smelt fusty and the seats were really small and uncomfortable. We also had to sit through 30 minutes of adverts - the audio was really loud - then after half an hour an 'Intermission' appeared for 5 minutes! The staff were very friendly and helpful but it's a shame it didn't smell clean and that we had to wait for 35 minutes before the film started, because it's the only cinema in Scarborough. Cinema like it's 1923! Really cool decor, super friendly staff. My husband REALLY liked the intermission scene (badly pictured by me). I particularly liked the carpets. Ticket prices reasonable, as are the sweets and drinks on offer from the snack bar. Now operating a one way system, where you leave by the exits at the side of the screen after the film. Been wanting to visit here for a while now, mainly due to it's unique location and also due to the great rides that they have on offer here! Yes, it's a small sized amusement park and it's quite crammed in, yet they have something for everyone and for all the family and it's decent value with a nice atmosphere as well. They operate on a top up based reloadable card system and it seems to work well and we found it easy to use and understand. The notable stand out attractions for me were the amazing jump n smile King Frog ride and the world's only lifting sizzler twist ride called Cyclone. The level of bounce and intensity of the Frogs were sublime and are as good as any other set out there and the Cyclone was great fun and really packed a punch. Definitely a ride to tick off and say that you've been on it. There was also a good few juvenile rides for the kids as well as a Miami type ride that looked very good plus a rather attractive looking dodgem set that was conveniently located inside.

Furthermore, to make matters worse took my 8 year old son on exposure and the young woman who was operating it didnt even check ours or anyone else's safety bar was pushed down and locked in properly, and when I shouted her because she was about to set the ride going and my son wasn't secured in properly she then got someone else to do it, are your staff really so negligent and careless they are willing to risk the safety of our children? Other parents didnt seem happy either as they were knocking on her glass box to try get her attention. Safe to say I am very unhappy and will not be returning.

It took me an hour to walk there from the Railway station and it involved some very steep climbs but the view from the top was spectacular!
The War Memorial is huge; a fitting tribute to the many lost in the wars since the First World War. It was sad to see many examples of 3 or more from the same family but I was also interested to see recognition of the loss of life of civilians and those lost at sea.
Close to the War Memorial are some information boards.
I was lucky that the weather was quite good, breezy but fairly clear, so there were some great views out across the town.
If you have any problem with walking up inclines I would suggest that you drive there as there’s walk involves very steep sections.

Came here over 20 years ago and remember it being really scary and highly impressive for a haunted house attraction. Sadly, on my return in 2025, it was tragically disappointing. It was badly lit most of the way round so I couldn't see half the scares or animatronics. Clearly the lights weren't working the way they should. The dinosaur was very slow and faultering the way it lowered down, completely lacking any surprise or impact. The Jaws exhibit felt like a joke and really let's the side down. In fact almost all of the experience felt tired and outdated, like the management have given up on the idea of improving our even maintaining it. On the basis of providing much needed support to what could be a really great horror attraction, I'd recommend going. But on the basis of Terror Tower itself, as it stands, I wouldn't bother.

Absolutely fab. The young lad on the reception is a credit to the place. My 9 year old autistic nephew got instantly terrified as soon as we went in. He was so nice to him and offerd to put the lights on inside and walk around with my nephew and myself. He explaind what was in every room as we were going around. Super nice of him to take the time to do this. Made my nephew feel very at ease, to the point when he woke up the next day he felt brave enough to do it again, properly. Even though he was still a tad scared 😄 🤣

Previously had wonderful experiences at terror towers circa 2014 and 2022 and had the pants scared off us. Today (2025) sadly left us cold. Pants remained firmly on.
The young man on the desk was very sweet and saved our bags for us, remembering whose was whose. Any quality of experience started and ended here.
The animatronics were largely faulty, the whole amusement was badly lit and often clearly not functioning at all. Most notably the finale dinosaur room was completely dark, no photograph was taken so we were unable to commemorate our previous runs. Perhaps this was for the best.
The new 'jaws' feature felt like a miserable school outting to a floundering sealife centre. The child who chased us out of the building in his shorts and tshirt was somewhat lacklustre. I dont think his heart was in it. Shakespeare 'twas not.
Should have offered us a discount on account of only half the exhibits working. Or at least put the light on so we could see what was meant to be scaring us.

The Sea Wall Heritage Trail is probably one of the better things to do in Scarborough if the weather allows it. It’s a nice walk along the water with nicely made circles with short information bits of information regarding the city and its region with fitting images and carvings. This Sea Wall Heritage Trail is well worth the usually windy walk around the headland. I’m sure most people DeJon have visited Scarborough a few times will think that they know most of the interesting facts but I bet they’ll learn something new here.
The Trail consists of a number of grey stone plaques set onto the top of the sea wall and covers Scarborough’s rich history going back to Star Carr and through industrial, fishing and famous Scarborians.

There are structural works going on which doesn't make as pleasant as it might, but it is a station of two halves. The Coffee Room at the main entrance was excellent. Good, hot coffee, made by a friendly, cheerful young man. The gents toilets however were atrocious and I wouldn't give them any stars if that was possible. Out of 3 cubicles, one was completely blocked, one had no paper and the third could not be locked. When I checked back about an hour later nothing had changed, and for that there is no excuse. A very poor show for a busy station in July.

I bought my ticket on my phone for the train and my phone ran out of battery. So I approached a staff member on the platform and explained my scenario. I expected to have to pay for another fair since this would be the kind of scam every cockroach would try, but he gave me another option, talk to the conductor.
So i talked to the conductor, nice dude, really helpful. He sent me off to the ticket office to try and see if they had a charging cable from lost & found. His colegue in the back managed to source 1 that fit my phone, and as my train had 10 minutes before leaving, I managed to get 8 minutes charge on, (13% battery)!!! All the while, the original staff member I was talking with had been watching my bag on the platform as I was sorting this out.

We dropped by this place when walking through the park. It was busy but the staff were efficient at working the queues. It is not an extensive trail but it was enough to keep two young teens occupied for a short while. There was no pressure to get off after once round nor was there a time limit. Always a bonus.

It was £9.50 per child which is ok and includes 30 minutes for them to go wherever they want on the ropes. The young man working here was great today (26/6), he helped our autistic son when he panicked on one of the walkways. He held his hand over the ropes and stood behind him encouraging him to keep going until he got back to the beginning. There is a nice shop and cafe here too.

Went on with my 5 year old daughter. Whilst we were up there the heavens opened and we got absolutely soaked. It didn't make the trail too slippery however and at no point did I feel unsafe. The staff were friendly and helpful but left you too yourself when up there (not a lot they can do once you're up there, although there was someone up there keeping an eye on things). Only dropping a star as it's quite expensive and there's not a lot of variety to the actual activity between ledges. If you've got the money however and fancy it, it's definitely worth doing.

My daughter changed her mind after only been harnessed up and walked up the stairs didn’t even attempt to walk in the trail as she was scared. Man at bottom was very kind and said we could use the ticket £10 (just under) on any other lake side attraction. Women (blonde older women) who claimed to be the manager when we went to pay extra at the booth so we could all ride the water chute said that wasn’t allowed and took away out ticket. We then had to pay £12 to ride the chute not an extra £2 … absolute jobs worth she was ruined my daughters day, said once your harnessed up and walk up the stairs then that means no to a refund or transfer to other rides she claimed … how the hell would a child know if there going to be scared before they walk up the stairs and assess the height and how there feeling? Disgusting manager, the lad she told off for saying we could transfer looked fed up off her too. Lovely park and area but get some decent people running the show. Also other reviews on here say people have had refunds so she might wanna get her story straight. Can’t pick and choose. She needs some customer service lessons. I’ll be taking this further.
