我们是9月份去的，非常棒的体验，原本是要订露易丝湖那家fairmont，结果订错了，没想到体验非常好，下次还会去。我们被免费升级到gold景观房，附送早餐，退房的当天早上回房间还发现了Mario特意叠的大章鱼，很惊喜！非常推荐这家酒店！

毫无诚意，根本不吧普通住房客户放在眼里，整个感觉只面向高端客户似的。一开始居然把我们安排在停车场旁的三层酱油building里，房间昏暗空大，窗户外一大半被立体停车场挡住。跟前台投诉升房以后main building 的9楼早上睡觉的时候高层施工，白天却都去休息。连他们自己前台以及shop员工都觉得这家酒店很过分。最后一天叫打扫房间，答应好了却两小时不来，最后只能打电话让拿来几体条新毛巾。太糟糕了！服务简直不入流。 建议去更贵但是好的多的路易斯湖那家。banff住普通3星以上就可以了，这种纯浪费钱。

Loved the room, it was quiet and backed onto the forest. It was terrific to have a wood burning fireplace, particularly since it was fairly cold in the evening. Check-in was fast and easy, all staff were lovely. My only suggestion would be to replace the chunky metal room keys with cards, it's definitely more convenient to slip a key card into a wallet then to fumble around with a big metal key. Otherwise, everything was perfect and we'd definitely return.

We did a roadtrip from Vancouver to Calgary and this was our favourite accommodation. The windows in the seating and eating area are facing the mountains where you can watch the sunrise each morning. The staff is super sweet, helpful, and professional. The website tells you about all these “complementary” amenities, but they only tell you in person at the time of checking in that you’re going to be charged $20 for each night whether or not you use them. The rooms look much better in the photos than reality, and the bathroom was tiny and dated. We were really looking forward to staying here as the pictures online looked wonderful. When we entered our room for the first time, we both stood there for a second and began complaining about how it did not look like the pictures at all. The room was very unwelcoming. Dark, outdated, lifeless and half the size we were expecting - I’d was quite small! The pillows were very lumpy and flat. The pillow itself had a couple of what seemed to be blood stains. The shower must’ve been the worst part. We couldn’t even adjust the shower head which was pointing to the corner of the shower, forcing you to shove your face on the glass door just to get your back cleaned. The shower head is also covered a thick coat of limescale. I’ll also just throw in the mention of half-ply toilet paper. There is no ceiling light so we had to rely on the night table lamp. There is also one floor lamp but the switch is far under the desk, I had to awkwardly lean my leg far under there just to reach the peddle switch. The view outside the balcony is nice, beautiful sky full of stars can be seen at night. But their photos did a great job at hiding the highway right outside your balcony! It was always loud and you can’t really sit out there to enjoy the view without being disturbed by all the passing cars. Worst of all, you can see your neighbours’ balconies too and unfortunately you can even see into their rooms if they haven’t closed their curtains! We haven’t stayed at many hotels but we were also surprised that we were not offered help with our luggage. There is no elevator so we had to lug 4 luggages up a large flight of stairs. We had dinner at the bistro on our first night. The service was slow, but we had a great waitress to keep us entertained. The food was just ok, nothing special and not good enough to return a second time. The room did come with a safe, a closet, and bathrobes which was nice. But the quality of the room was very disappointing, especially for $1000/night. We then left for another hotel in Jasper for a few hundreds cheaper and it was so much better, we couldn’t help but compare. Unfortunately we will not be returning here.

The building is on the older side and it is very notable. However for the price and location it is a very good stay ! Check in was easy and we were able to get in a couple hours early. The unit was clean but heavy wear and tear. Flooring was worn out, one drawer was broken, cover around a light fixture was gone, rug was worn out. Although the unit needed some TLC, beds were comfortable and we slept great. Facility was decent, sections felt a little abandoned like the fitness area and rec area around the pool. Pool locker rooms and showers were updated but the pools were in need of TLC and water was dirty. I likely would not stay here again for the price based on the need for TLC. This left our bathroom soaking and us using multiple towels to mop it up no matter how we tried to stop it the 3 nights we were here, because water would always hit the curtain and just seep out onto the floor. There was no working fan in our bathroom either, so I don’t think this place will hold up well to water damage in the long run. Our toilet bowl was weirdly sweating the entire time we were here, and it sounded like we were breaking the toilet every time we flushed, and the pipes in our walls would rattle if any of the rooms around us flushed. There were also a few small holes in the wall/patches of ceiling peeling, which was not that big of a deal, but it looked like a cheap motel, and was not what I expected for the cost of the room. The cleanliness of the hot pool was also somewhat gross. The floor and every surface in there looked like it needed a desperate power wash, and obviously the hot pool is meant to look natural but you could see a layer of grey grime on everything. The water was not the cleanest looking either, and again this is not the hotels fault, but multiple times I saw adult men get out of the wood sauna sweating, and immediately get into the hot pool, which was gross. The wifi was really crazy bad at this hotel. I struggled to use my phone for more than 3 minutes before being disconnected, and having to constantly reconnect it. It was not possible to stream any TV shows on my laptop because the wifi would keep disconnecting before anything could load fully, or if it stayed connected it was a single bar that could not load anything. I can’t imagine trying to work remotely from this hotel because the wifi is not stable enough. This was a big shock as we had just spent the previous few days in a much more remote area of the Rockies with no issues with wifi, and then we got here to the city for our most expensive hotel on the trip and the wifi was nearly unusable. The hotel had nice features too. Again the staff was very nice, both the front desk and the room cleaning staff were wonderful. The Chilis in the hotel lobby was super convenient and had a wide menu with lots of options. The landscaping of the hotel was super nice, and it was beautiful with the fall colors changing in the courtyard. The front desk had lots of good activity information. I’m just shocked by the cost for a room here as it wasn’t good, let alone the great room required to justify the price.

On the weekend of November 8th i surprised my wife for her 40th birthday with a couple nights stay in Banff. Iv told her about the grotto style hot tub that's underground so i chose the Fox Hotel. upon arrival we noticed in our room that the toilet seat had urine with hair stuck to in all over the back of the toilet where the toilet seat is screwed in. after seeing that we decided to look a little more and found the tv remote was sticky with residue of something on it. The TV was also from 2002 and had the worst quality of picture. (Not a big issue because we were there for the mountains but it was still disappointing to see. We also noticed that they do not have fridges in the rooms anymore to keep left overs in. instead i had to hide my food outside our room door to keep cold outside. once we assessed our room for all the sticky surfaces (Note: do not look behind the night stands in these rooms.) we decided to head to the hot tub to relax. when we left our room there was a cigarette butt and a zin tobacco pouch that was sitting just outside our room door. we stayed for 3 days and both were never picked up. the cleaners had to walk over them to get into our room and still nothing was done. once we arrived at the hot tub door our room key wouldn't work so we had to go back to the front desk. once fixed we entered the hot tub to find a very murky hot tub that looked dirty. We decided to stay and made sure to have showers once we got out. when we walked back to our room soaking wet and cold our room key wouldn't work for our room so we had to head back to the front desk again to get it sorted. That was basically the extent of the disappointments from the Fox Hotel and thought to let people know that the price to stay at a hotel like this is very high considering what you get. i wouldn't recommend staying here. There are way nicer or should i say maintained hotels on the strip for a cheaper price.

This time, I reserved a pet-friendly room and also reached out to customer service to ask if they could help with a birthday surprise for my partner which is to decorate the room. Hot pools are great in winter, smores at happy hour are such a great touch. I did have an incident with key cards not working and the staff acadently walked in on me changeing but they apologized and gave a discount which was super kind of then. Front desk was super accommodating and kind. I arrived early for check in so they gave me complimentary bus tickets to make my time exploreing town easier. I decide on this hotel because it had pool , sauna and steam. When we reached there and checked in the room , the room was downstairs and you have to take the stairs or elevator to go down to the room. Parking is very tight and we could find a parking close the elevator or room , I gave both even on the side of the room, the parking space is very tight and while backing up you have to be very careful. If you are going out for dinner etc in the night be ready to park far away from the room. There was one window in the room for outside view but the blind was broke so we couldn’t open the blind and enjoy the view. Sauna, steam and fitness rooms were all the way on other side in different building and you have to take 2 flights of stairs. My wife wanted to use sauna in the evening so first I went yo check it and didn’t find it family friendly , it was like haunted place , very old with some bad smell and no one was there. Hot tub was closed totally so we didn’t use any of those facilities during our stay. Also the swimming pool is in reception building , pretty awkward location and very dated. They gave us bus passes that we didn’t use as only one bus#2 comes there with limited route and have you have to wait outside in the cold, we had rental car so we decided to drive everywhere. You can borrow bear spray and umbrella from front desk that was a nice thing. Housekeeping didn’t clean our room one day at all and didn’t even change towels etc. even after we told them before leaving. I would expect this kind of experience when we paid up to 380$ per night during off season, spent 5 nights mentioned our special marriage anniversary occasion during the reservation. I would stay here for the price we paid , I would book somewhere else which is much better kept , family friendly with ample parking and hot tub etc. they do need serious renovations.

We stayed in the "superior double queen with balcony" and it was SO superior that we didn't even have bath robes. The location is fantastic, and we were given bus passes for the day. The in room soap and shampoo/ conditioner is rocky mountain soap co. So that was nice! They do have a keurig that comes with 2 pods of french roast and 2 pods of decaf, and you get a few packets of sugar and coffee mate. I would come back to this hotel, if it were a fraction of the cost, but nothing made the hotel anywhere near worth $300/ night.

The staff were lovely and very helpful. We had breakfast every morning (waffles and sausages or pancakes and bacon with coffee and orange juice). So why do I rate it only four stars? Let’s look at the pros: it’s up the hill and away from the noise of downtown. Units with a gas fireplace turn on with the press of a button and are wonderful for cold nights in the mountains. Kitchens are well equipped and it’s nice to have the ability to cook or heat up a meal in the comfort of home. The complimentary bus passes make it easy to get downtown without having to drive or park. Parking is easy and free, often located right in front of the door to your suite. There are nice walking trails nearby. The cons: as others point out, the units are pretty dated. The carpets could use a good cleaning, or better yet replacement. I always bring indoor shoes to wear and they get absolutely filthy just from walking around the room. I’ve encountered clogged showers and fireplaces that don’t work. To the credit of the employees, they have always responded promptly to my requests for repairs. Basically this hotel could use some TLC or a deep clean at the very least. I don’t mind the outdated decor but the dirty carpets have to go. I will definitely stay here again in the future but I wanted to be honest about my experiences for others to see (and hopefully management). For the price they charge we should expect a little more. I had seen some of the reviews previously and wasn’t sure what to expect. Upon arrival into Banff, you’re already so enamoured by the town’s setting among the mountains that you know that most of your time is going to be spent outdoors. We have always used our hotels simply as a base, and this hotel was no different. We were greeted and checked in with ease. The gentleman on reception was friendly and clear about the available facilities, parking charges and the purpose of the security hold. The room itself was good; nothing like the reviews I’d read. Bed sheets were pristine and bathroom facilities were as clean as you would want them to be. We were on a room-only basis but there was a kettle and a fridge in our room so we could store any groceries we happened to pick up during our stay. Pool and sauna facilities were available at a neighbouring hotel that I believe Charltons own, but we didn’t use these- barely had any time! The nights were peaceful as it’s about a 10-minute walk into Banff town centre. Other guests were obviously courteous and respected the quiet hours information published in and around the hotel. Another lady worked on the front desk also gave a fantastic recommendation for a coffee place, which became our local haunt for the duration of our stay; Whitebark Cafe, for anyone interested. Check out was seamless and the charge for parking came off of our security deposit, the remainder of which was released immediately as available funds, but took a few days to show on statements; though, they do advise this could be the case. All in all, a great base whilst in Banff, beautiful setting, friendly staff, clean room and great facilities.

The location was pretty good and highly walkable from the town. There was also plenty of parking around and it felt like a pretty safe neighborhood. Cons: This is one of the worst hostels we have stayed at. The first night we were here, there was extremely loud music till 1.30AM with bass literally rocking the windows. Apparently, someone from the staff was moving out of town and there was a huge party at the cost of comfort of the guests. (Quiet hours, remember?!) Secondly, somehow their main electricity switch keeps turning off due to excessive load at night, which means it's totally possible that there will be no fan, outlet or lights working in the middle of the night. Two out of three nights we had to face this and had a horrible experience. Lastly, the bathroom maintenance was horrible. To add cherry to the cake, my spouse and I were given separate rooms, which is understandable if there are a lot of bookings. But after our first night at the hostel, we saw there were empty beds (as confirmed by the staff at the front desk) in both of our rooms when people checked out. Despite this the staff did not accommodate our request to keep us in one room which is not that big of a deal at other hostels. People have pointed out staff being rude and treating the hostel like their own personal space on other forums as well. Do not recommend at all. Bad experience overall.

The hotel was really wonderful! The rooms were clean, beds super comfortable, and decor/view was modern and beautiful. At the last minute the hotel offered to upgrade us to a Loft room for a minor fee and I’m so glad we did that. The extra room and kitchenette was a great idea for the four nights we were there, not to mention the view! We would 100% stay here again and recommend to anybody staying in Banff! The parking garage was easy in/out but would be tight for a huge SUV/full size truck.
