We planned on coming here during our trip to Dundee after seeing a video about it on Tik Tok. Warm and welcoming as soon as you walk in. We had soup and a smokie to start. Fish and chips and sea bass for mains which were both really good. The sticky toffee pudding and maple and pecan bread and butter pudding were sensational. Superb selection of whisky. The atmosphere was lacking a bit, nice decor but it wasn't busy and felt quite "stiff" maybe some quiet background music would help? Staff were nice but felt attentive at the wrong times. We were rushed to put our order in (came over 3 times in the first 5 minutes of being sat) but when we had questions, wanted re-fills or wanted to pay they were nowhere to be seen. Food was nice, highly reccomend the massala fish or smokies as these were both incredible. Everything else was nice and well made but nothing spectacular. Overall would definitely come back but maybe when it is a bit busier so the atmosphere feels more full and energetic.

Thankfully we came across the Bellrock Restaurant which has a traditional chip shop attached to the restaurant where you can get anything on their menu to takeout. The owner confirmed that the fish and chips were suitable for a halal diet and we were even more assured we made the right decision when we seen how busy both sides of the establishment was. We opted for the battered cod and chips which were cooked fresh in front of us and were delicious! The batter was light and crispy which is just how we like it and hey serve generous portions. Great food, great service and I would definetley come again! If you are looking for some top quality fish and chips i would highly recommend the Bellrock to all if you are in the area!

Plenty of tables (although I think even then it could get full quickly, as it's so popular), the food is delicious and in good size portions. They do a great deal which is soup, sandwich and a tea or flat white for a great price. I had the creamy curried parsnip and it was one of the best soups I've ever had. Personally I’m split between Marcos and the Golden Haddock. We ordered tonight for delivery to Carnoustie. Delivery costs £5 out here which is on par with others. It was estimated 90 minutes but arrived after about 35. The food was all beautiful. My fish supper came with a little extra bit of fish which was fantastic (see the pic). The portion of chips was a bit disappointing, I’d probably say one of the smallest I’ve ever had as part of a supper. I had a couple of fritters ordered too, so it wasn’t too bad, however given it costs 3.30 to go from a single to supper I’d expect a decent amount of chips. My girlfriend had a half battered pizza which she said was nice. I could hear the crunch any time she bit it which is also good. Onion rings: in most chip shops across Scotland when you get onion rings, it’s those terrible frozen ones that arrive - not hear though! Proper home made onion rings that have been battered. They’re fantastic. All in all, another delicious meal and great service time. A shame about the chips, but that’s overshadowed by how excellent everything else was.

The interior and cutlery is absolutely beautiful. We order a chilli con carne, a pot of tea and one plain scone with cream, butter and jam. The scone was one of the best cones I have eaten, and the chili con carne was good with plenty of chesse baguettes and a salad. All for a price of £20 which I think is a bargain. We had lunch in the bar as the bar is dog friendly and our 4 legged companions are made to feel very welcome. The staff were warm and friendly. The food was great quality, good portion size but a little pricey for my liking. Still worth it though. There is sufficient parking outside. Mens toilets in the bar are typical of an old fashioned bar so not the greatest and definitely not wheelchair friendly. I would have rated this 5 star but knocked it down slightly as there was very limited food options for the dog and I think prices are on the high side. That said, food prices are shocking so maybe I expect too much. Worth a visit and we will return.

Up from the South coast visiting family in Scotland we were trying to find somewhere that would be really special for a family meal. This place did not disappoint. Proper Italian pizza with the best dough and crust I've had outside of Italy. The ingredients on the pizza were incredibly high quality too. Proper Italian meats, buffalo mozzarella that was incredibly fresh and creamy, unusual ingredients like truffle that you normally only find in high end restaurants. Nice selection of beers and wine too. The pizza oven here is imported from Italy and it's beautiful. You can watch the pizzas being made from the best table in the restaurant. The restaurant itself is really stunning inside with nice lighting and smart bathroom facilities. The staff were very friendly and helpful but just one bit of advice for the young servers you should wait for everyone to finish eating before you start clearing others plates away. I was really surprised that the place wasn't busy on a Friday night. Maybe the location being a bit tucked away. Many thanks and good luck for the future. We ordered from Saffron Indian Cuisine in Arbroath, and I was really impressed with how quickly the food was delivered everything arrived piping hot and perfectly fresh. The lamb biryani was full of flavour, tender, (but had 2 large fattier bits of meat) and it was wonderfully spiced, while the chicken bhuna was absolutely delicious, huge chunks of chicken breastfeeding that was rich, aromatic, and perfectly cooked. The only small letdown was the rather odd salad that came with the meal not quite what I was expecting, though it might just be a regional twist. Overall, though, the food was excellent, and I’d definitely order again!

Tonight went quite bad. Firstly I called the shop to order a DELIVERY. Initially it was the owner that answered the phone as the regular manager a very nice woman called Julie is on 2 weeks holiday. As soon as I asked for a delivery he passed the call to a young persons to take the order but they had not been told it was for delivery so after waiting longer than usual I called back. As expected they had placed it as a collection so it had been sitting in the shop COOLING. They said they would send it out ASAP and it arrived within 15 minutes (very good). But they had only added one portion of side salad and sauces instead of the two that should have been there for the 2 large chicken tikka kebabs. The chips were also quite cool. I called the shop back to have the owner make the assumption I had placed the order through some online app which was incorrect. Surprisingly it turns out if you order through these apps that they promote their shop discount on it means you get a smaller portion and share the side orders which I find hard to believe anyway. After I had to forcibly talk over his rant to explain I had called the shop directly as I always do he apologised and said he would send the order out again. After another 15 minutes or so the driver came to the door and handed me a single side salad and sauce container. So by this time my friend had already had to leave for a 80 mile trip he was making late in the evening and was the whole reason we had ordered a takeaway instead of cooking a meal. I have been let down through incompetence with this shop several times before but the food is definitely very good and is why I have continued to order from them. I’m not sure now if I will bother ordering again except perhaps going in to collect in person and ONLY when the regular manager is working.
