BTW we had Thia food yesterday at Harndorf family cooks, a third of the price was delicious made with love, service was exceptional This restaurant is for the like for those people who look beautiful but r seriously fake. I am on a low sodium diet for health reasons. I let them know weeks before when we booked. They did not tell me they could not accomodate my diet. We went there to celebrate our daughter’s 21st. The waiter said they can handle my diet and will try to make any dish I want. So we started discussing what menu items could be adjusted and it was basically you can have this meat with nothing else. No sauce, no sides. Nothing. I suggested using normal herbs or finger limes (which they had with another dish). He said chef can omit but doesn’t like to change the dishes. I was embarrassed. What is the point of a chef if it is not to make all customers happy? I’ve attached pictures of what they were able to come up with. Some seared scallops and grilled quail. Yesterday we went to Fino and before that Wanera wine bar and the chefs came out to discuss how they could accomodate and adjust the dishes so I did not miss out and the whole experience was special. As opposed to Vintners where the waiting staff could see that we were unhappy and did not care. They cared about making their chef happy and nothing else. When we paid our bill I explained to them that they not only ruined my night but my wife’s and daughters as well. We went there to celebrate an important birthday and just left shocked and angry. The chef didn’t come out to discuss. I was told I could send an email or call later to discuss. Just terrible. I’m sure the food is great if you don’t have dietary requirements. But if you do, avoid at all costs.

Mostly we have to park on the roadside because it is so popular. Every single pie makes Vilis or Balfours look like a poor relation...This Bakery ensures you get between half and a third more than Vili's or Balfours. Family member is crazy about the Pretzels and the Banbury. Husband likes the pasty. The shepherds pie has like a crazy little flavour in the mash potato topping. I thought it was zizzed up onion, so fine there is no texture just flavour, but it may be a little titch of horseradish....either way, I make sure I take some cold ones home for later. There are good toilets in store. Lots of cold drinks plus excellent coffee. And ice cream...The final bonus are the cuckoo clocks kindly set to go off one after the other. You will love it.

Went to ask for some fresh chilli and had a peak into the kitchen and honestly this is the cleanest kitchen I’ve ever seen. On top of these dishes I’ve also tried the pho. The place is run by the family so you get to meet the people behind the wine and the winemaker himself personally shucked the fresh oysters to go with my Eden Valley Riesling. I would give it 3 1/2 stars this year. I d rung in advance and was told there was a vegan and veggo menu as i have friends who do not eat meat. Sadly us omnivores were not too happy either with the entree selection was dry and tasteless and the 1 small prawn on a stick looked lacking so the meal started on a downer. The deserts were nice but no wow factor like the previous chrissy. The main meal for the veg friends was like a barley risotto but flavorless and did not smell good at all not worth the $100. Per meal price for them. The service was not as good either ,, not happy staff this year they were put out when we asked about the veggie menu and never seemed interested after that which was sad after our other Wanera experiences being so nice. Finally I know its a wine bar but the wine selection needs to cater for all budgets a cheap and cheerful bottle of each variety means everyone may enjoy a wine. So last christmas 2021 was great and i gave 5 stars an amazing christmas lunch. Tasty food including a lovely entree and dessert shared selection. Main courses yummy and good selection of aldentee vegies. Polite and cheerful waiting staff and just a lovely laid back lunch. No long waits between courses either which is amazing as just lately resturants seem to take forever to get each course to table. We plan to make this venue our go too date night treat. He dumped drinks down hard on the table, pushed my friend's phone roughly out of the way to fling a drink in front of her and totally missed both my husband and I when we asked for something. We dined indoors with a handful of other patrons, and had a Gnocchi with beef ragu; a crumbed chicken sandwich, wombok slaw, & fries and a couple of Tempura fish (Alaskan Pollock) and fries. No prob, we were told there might be a wait on meals as they were busier than expecting to be. There wasn't given the number of large tables being served. The three front of house staff were great, attentive and professional. When settling the bill the staff member apologised for the delay. Again, there wasn't any. Just fantastic, over hearing conversations staff where having, they were on the ball, recognising share meals and getting extra plates. Asking people if meals were OK, and if there people wanted anything else. We have been here a few times over the years, including big birthdays. Always nice food, and great service.
