The food is a fantastic example of vegan food, people assume that because it’s vegan it is often lesser in some way but these dishes are perfectly crafted to leave you feeling full and satisfied. I’d never have even thought to put these ingredients together or cashew in my mac and cheese but wow so tasty. Rustic decor, friendly service, fantastic breakfast and lunch menu, plus tasty, strong and fresh coffee. I ate here two days in a row. My breakfast on the first day was incredible. But when I walked in I was pleasantly surprised on how welcoming it was! The decor was beautiful and welcoming! Lucky that it wasn't an allergy otherwise someone would have ended in a hospital just because they didn't read the instructions.The other person ordered a meal with chicken which was tough and over cooked. The other 2 party's meal arrived 1 hour later when everyone had already finished their meal. Ordered a simple steak and burger. The steak was asked to be medium and it was definitely rare instead. The steak knife was useless; blunt so couldn't even cut the steak quick enough because by the time I got half way through to cutting it, it was cold and tough. Noone even bothered coming to check if the food was OK for us or if we needed anything. A few tables away they had a cleaning spray which hadn't been moved since we got sat down. It was just hung on a chair, which was so easy for a child to grab (health hazard). They also had a trolly full of dirty dishes pilled up near the area where they sat us. The chef was wearing jewellery which clearly means they don't care about the food hygiene. The waitress came to collect some food and decided to tie up her hair right before picking up someone's food without washing her hands. The toilets were disgusting.Not even a sorry for the delay. This experience was overall terrible.

For example being asked how our food is once we had finished. We asked for tops ups and these never came and had to go to the bar ourselves. At this point the restaurant was very busy, tables were not being cleared, they were lots of delays. A number of people were refusing to pay. Eventually a manager came over to us and he did his absolute best to bring our experience back round, offering us free dessert and even going to make them himself to speed up the process. We came to eat here on Sunday 16th November and it has to be one of the worst experiences I have ever had. I’ve worked in hospitality for 20 years so I know full well the standards a place should have. Firstly, our Nachos that came out as a starter were cold and very dry, half the toppings were missing and they barely had any cheese or sour cream on them, these are priced at £15 on the menu, surely no one would be happy with that price when receiving such poor quality food. They had clearly been sat on the hot plate for a considerable amount of time! Similarly, our mains then arrived which were 2 of the blackened salmons, which were just as bad, they were cold and dry and the glaze had been applied to the salmon skin, instead of the top of the salmon as you would expect. The mash was cold and gloopy and the corn on the cob was bone dry and cold. All of it inedible. We spoke with our server who agreed none of our food was to standard and he understood as he wouldn’t want to eat any of it either! Admitting this is happening often. He then got a manager to come and speak to us who was just a reflection of the standard of the food and environment to be honest. She was unsympathetic and offering to take the nachos off of the bill and was not going to offer to take our mains off too, I flat out refused that we were going to pay for any of our food as it was inedible. Again we were not disappointed. I had a burrito with triple cooked chips it was delicious my husband had whiskey river burger and triple cooked chips. It was a big buerger and he really enjoyed it. While upstsirs was the usual super fast and soulless jump up, downstairs in the tiny basement club they were playing some of the finest hardcore and jungle I've heard of in a long time - and I go out in London regularly. DJ John and the other djs played tunes I hadn't heard of for a good while, and they just kept on rolling. What was supposed to be one stock turned into to staying the 3 hours until it closed at 2. Lovely people, good value drinks, great atmosphere and PHENOMENAL music. I hope they do more events with that music, as they will be very popular in my circle indeed. We waited over 40 minutes for cocktails, asked the only staff member we could find three times about them and were completely ignored. She was right next to us all this time, heard we’ve asked multiple times why is no one even starting the cocktails 30 minutes after we've placed the order but said absolutely nothing, just continued her dinner, didn't even asked another member of staff to sort them out as it's been so long already. The third time we’ve asked about the cocktails no update was provided, instead the waitress apologized saying she had a “more important task” to deal with which we overheard was a cold burger being sent back from a different table. What made the whole situation even worse was the behaviour of the manager, Claire. The first time we spoke to her she claimed she had been “caught up in the kitchen,” but she was actually sat at the table right next to us eating with her friends. Whilst she was sat there, one of the cooks even came over to her table, rolled her eyes, and complained about “someone ordering a bunch of sharers via the app” which turned out to be our order. Truly embarrassing and unprofessional. After she finished her dinner, she went into the kitchen and barely came out of it. Whilst trying to find someone and get an update on the order, I could clearly hear everyone in the kitchen laughing and joking whilst the cocktails were still not even started. In the rare moments someone was actually on the floor, we managed to approach Claire about the cocktails and mentioned it had been over 40 minutes. Bare in mind, the place was empty, only another table of and the manager’s friends. The manager dismissed us, claiming we were lying and that it had only been 20 minutes. We then showed her the order confirmation email, which clearly proved it had been exactly 46 minutes since we placed the first order. When our food finally arrived, almost an hour after, the cocktails were still missing and the order itself was wrong and stone cold. Instead of being told certain items weren’t available, they simply swapped them out without saying a word. Claire shouldn’t be working as a manager in any establishment. She treated the place like it was her own personal hangout with absolutely no regard for customers. Except for a single girl who seemed to actually care, no one else was doing any work. The rest of the staff were literally just sat in the kitchen ignoring orders and customers. We asked for a refund for our entire order and left. With Claire working there as a shift manager, we will not be returning and strongly advise others to avoid this location particularly due to the shift manager Claire and her work ethic.

While waiting, we witnessed the bouncers enforce their "dress code" with what can only be described as a blatant double standard. They turned away several groups of Black and Asian men for wearing "the wrong trainers" or "not fitting the vibe," only to let in groups of white lads wearing the exact same or even scruffier shoes moments later. The prejudice was so obvious it was sickening. It left a sour taste in our mouths before we'd even stepped inside.
