The swordfish was tender and fresh and they didn’t lather it in sauce! Be warned though, it is messy! Service was just okay, she did her job, but her customer service skills need improvement. We overall enjoyed our food and drinks, but the experience on a whole didn’t really meet our expectations. The broiled seafood dishes were good, as was the lobster. And it was okay but there were some serious issues that were kind of off-putting. First the pros. Our server Kimmy was an absolute sweetheart - very patient in crazy circumstances and got everything perfect despite a few modifications. I mentioned this when I made the reservation and was told that we would have a really nice table overlooking the harbor. When we got there we were seated on an inside table in a room full of families with very loud kids. I certainly don't mind that - restaurants are for everyone. But I would have appreciated having been told that there was no window table available for our party of five. Now for the main entrees beef cheek which was beyond tender no knife required to cut and coated in a decadent sauce that reminds me of a Moroccan/ Mexican sauce with a complimentary green chilies dipping sauce you want to drink and pickled onions- jalapeños and radishes that brings the dish all together. My brother got the noodles which are a classic favorite at the Tasty with tamari chicken, veggi slaw and peanuts. The desserts are all homemade so even though we were stuffed we had to get carrot cake to go. The frosting is not overly sweet and the cake is so moist you can see the carrots and pineapple in each mouthful of yummy goodness. We will be back to try more of the new menu- every table around us were saying how good their food was so you can’t go wrong with whatever you pick!!! The line was relatively short even on a busy Sunday afternoon and we were through it in about 10 minutes. Our food was ready in about another 10 minutes. The cashier was friendly and pleasant. There were tables available for our party of 4 without having to wait for 1 to be freed up. The tables were clean, too. Soda fountain dispensers were in the seating area for access to refills. All in all, the space was very clean and well-maintained including the washrooms. Finally, the food was absolutely delicious! This was the first meal of our vacation and it set a high bar. We ordered fried clams, fried shrimp, and fried fish. The batter on all of them was crispy but not heavy. And the fried fish was especially yummy. Portion sizes were great compared to the cost. It was busy, but we found a parking spot pretty easily and were seated quickly, too. The interior of the restaurant felt warm and cozy. I loved the holiday decorations that had been put up as well.
