Also, it served just lukewarm which was quite disappointing. Also, the mimosa flight was just okay. Out of the 4 flavors, only two were really good. This is the first brunch place where all the mimosas on the flight weren't good, and its unfortunate because you can switch flavors out. The lavender one tastes like medicine. We also had the green tomatoes, beignets, cheese grits, and bacon sandwich. All those food items were delicious. My cousin raved about the grits and we loved the beignets. I would recommend this restaurant, just not the mimosa flight or biscuits and gravy.

The pickled green beans were perfectly tart and it was precisely what I needed to pick me up. Soon I started with the fried green tomatoes- I loved both the presentation and the bacon jam they top them with. Afterwards I ordered the gulf shrimp omelette which came with delicious cheddar grits and a huge biscuit with a to die for crab butter. Not only was the food delectable, but the bartender Michael was an absolute pleasure to speak with! In fact, each of the staff were fun, courteous, and engaging! I will definitely be a regular here from now on!

The food is always good at that location, but the service is somewhat shotty. It just depends on the day & time. So when we discovered that frothy monkey had made a new location in Homewood, we decided to check it out to see if we would get an even better experience than the one that we receive downtown. To say the least, we were disappointed. We ordered the French toast, which describes having apples and cinnamon, and usually an order of French toast is 2 pieces of bread, cut in half, giving you four pieces of French toast for an order. This was one piece of French toast, 2 pieces, for $14. That is absurd and honestly unheard of. I dont know if that was a kitchen mistake...but even still, the server should have caught it at expo and had it fixed with another piece of french toast & the right garnish of apples and cinnamon like the description states. Also, if this was the mistake on behalf of kitchen staff, this should've been caught by our server....which brings me to my next point. Our server was kind and attentive up until taking our order, getting us what we needed, and then being in a rush to leave the entire time. This is the same experience that we have had at the downtown location where our server was in a rush to leave so they got our order, put in in, no follow ups whatsoever, just to be able to clock out & leave quickly. I totally understand wanting to leave for the day after being at work for the majority of it, but at least check in with your table to make sure they need more water or anything else. My partner ordered the hash, in which the first time they forgot one of the key ingredients of sausage. They remade the order, but the next time around, it was a different portion with less kale and a prominent amount of sausage. Yes, this is a thorough review, but it's necessary because I, too, am in the industry and the decline of service and staff double-checking things and catching the simple mistakes is just getting out of hand. I was going to even leave a decent tip for our waitress...but she was in such a rush to leave, snd walked right past us to do just thay with purse in hand, that it felt pointless to leave the amount I was going to, so I retracted a potion of it because when it came down to the food, we weren't impressed. I was tipping solely because our server and the manager who checked on us were kind to us. Either way, we will most likely not be back. And I'm sure you all could care less, but I had to leave this review so the mistakes can be hopefully be fixed by the staff, & hopefully remedied for customers the next time around so they don't have to have the same similar experience.

This was such a clutch sub because the Chihuahua cheese is creamy, with some great hints of acid flavor and it was super melty. The burger as a whole was delightful and quite flavorful. My son and I met there and luckily found parking pretty easily. It’s a really nice area of Homewood with lots of quaint stores around. You walk up to order your food and find a seat. After she made a couple of phone calls and no one answered, she finally said you know, I can help. She asked for a little time and she came from the back with a beautiful a two tier cake. It was perfect. She also noticed on the cake that was ruined that my niece wanted a textured icing so she went the extra super Duper mile and textured the icing on the cake she made for us. We also purchased a chocolate cake for the grooms cake because it was also ruined. The kindness and support that the staff at this bakery provided us in the mist of a complete disaster was beautiful and heart warming. They could’ve easily said not our cake, not our problem plus it’s almost closing time but no, we were offered a solution and comfort. I am back in Dallas,TX now and I can’t stop telling everyone about our wonderful blessed experience. I am so sorry that I cannot remember the name of the wonderful lady that made the cake but she knows who she is and I really hope she shares her wonderfulness with everyone in the Edgar’s Bakery family and in Birmingham, Alabama. FYI, Edgar’s did NOT make the cake that fell. Edgar’s kindly made the perfect cake that replaced it.

We tried going to the one closer to downtown Birmingham on a Sunday, but there was at least a 30 minute wait. I placed an online order through their "business preferred" platform Clover at 9:16. I was told 15 minutes. I walk in around 10 minutes after, and it's not ready, no biggie I'm early. As I'm waiting, I watch several people come up, order, and get their food long before I would. Finally at 9:50, I get my food. Their business has coconut water available for online ordering, but they had no idea whay I was talking about so they gave me a water. I ordered two bagels. One turkey melt, one Lox. It took roughly 35 minutes to get my food. On top of that, I get to my car and pull out my melt. And there is a hair in the turkey melt. I understand being busy, and working in the food industry is incredble taxing. I am still a waitress, after all. But seriously? I work incredibly hard at my job to make sure every single guest has a great experience, and I would like to assume other businesses do as well. But they seriously dropped the ball.
