Really warm, inviting, and full of character. The staff are all lovely and very accommodating, especially when I asked to add avocado and eggs to my dish. I ordered the baked eggs with beef sujuk, which had great flavour overall, but unfortunately came out cold, so I’d rate it a 4/5. The muhammara and dukkah were nice but could’ve used a bit more flavour. The coffee was good but also came out a little cold, which was a shame. I also tried the chia pudding, it was okay, nothing special. Still, the service and atmosphere made up for it. Definitely a cool spot worth visiting, just hope the food’s hotter next time!

After several return visits here, Ive tried plenty of their menu and some repeatedly. Each and every time, I never leave disappointed. Consistently good coffee and food that impresses. The Italian scrambled eggs paired with the hash brown is one of my favourites. Then there's the char grilled sourdough bread...I swear this gets baked fresh every morning, this stuff is to die for! What better way to pair among the best eggs in Sydney (yup! I said it and I'm not sorry). This is my Mrs go-to that she orders and I always manage to steal some off her hehe. Why I don't order this myself? Well...that's because this place made me fall in love with eggplant. Yeah...eggplant, of all ingredients. Their eggplant toastie is next level and nothing live Ive ever tried anywhere, really. Crispy eggplant, soft and creamy centre, all neatly concealed between creamy, stretchy melted mozzarella, some amazing mystery sauce I can't quite figure out yet (it's driving me nuts!) and fresh thick, crunchy, grilled sourdough. TLDR - good food, very pricy, terrible system. First of all the food is good. Bagels in Australia generally taste just like bread, which has been a big disappointment for me. But they make the texture right so good job on that part. As a hospitality person I strongly disagree with how they handle orders and delivery, though. They don’t lead you to table, and they don’t give you a table number either. So when the food is ready it takes a long time to arrive as the staff took too long trying to figure out where the food is going. I’m genuinely shocked that they don’t have a better food delivery system in store, it seems very unprofessional. I watched the staff looking lost, taking laps and asking multiple customers if it’s their order - food is exposed to air and they talk over the food. It’s not hygienic nor efficient. All food items became cold and rubbery as staff spent so long sending them to tables. Ordered blueberry bagel with cream cheese and loaded avo on rye bagel. The blueberry bagel is missing the blueberry flavor so it basically tastes just like a plain bagel. It’s cool that they use house cream cheese but i could barely taste the cheese. It tastes like a whipped cream or ricotta to me. Again, great bagel texture, but only the texture. Loaded avo was quite good. Except it was also completely cold by the time we received it. Lost the crispness as it took too long Also ordered a small almond cold brew, it cost me 7.3 and portion was so small that it almost looks like a free sample in supermarkets. We both agreed it’s the perfect place to enjoy a meal out, whether it be breakfast, lunch or in between. The cafe had a great atmosphere and although it was very busy we didn’t feel rushed or crowded at any time. We ordered the Brioche French Toast and the Amber smoothie as well as the Mushroom Duxelle on Charred Sourdough and the Purple smoothie. Everything came out very quickly and looked incredible. I loved all the colours and you can tell a lot of effort goes into each plate. The French toast was delicious and all the elements worked really well together but I would have liked to have some more fruit and crumble. The bacon and poached egg with the mushroom duxelle on charred sourdough and was a winner and the side of bacon was big enough to share so it was definitely worth adding as a side. Both of our smoothies were healthy and delicious too and looked amazing in the mason jars. We definitely recommend a visit to The Wren, we know we’ll be back soon.

This cafe could have so much going for it. A lovely building, great location, easy parking but.. the food, service and cleanliness were appalling. The coffee was acceptable. The food was truly dreadful. We had the dumplings, corn fritters and poached eggs on toast. No way had those corn fritters been made on the day, stodgy, stale and extremely salty. The side salad with the dumplings was old and the dumplings themselves were fine though. The poached eggs were very unappealing with hard dry toast that didn’t even have a smidge of butter on it. It is also expensive! Which, if the quality were great, we wouldn’t have minded. The outside chairs were extremely uncomfortable and the couches too dirty to sit upon. There were little piles of rubbish on the edges of the courtyard and a general air of neglect and DGAF. This is a fabulous building but the cafe business needs to be completely revamped. We pre-booked the hi tea for a group of 8. They catered for our dietary needs. The cafe has a nursery up front. Some on site parking, indoor and outdoor seating, toilets and a garden at the back. I took my parents here for dinner on the weekend, they can be quiet picky when it comes to ethnic food, but to my surprise (in this case not at all) they BOTH loved the food. I told her I wasn't going to drink it and would not pay for it. She storms off, then the same young waitress with a sour face comes around to refill the sugar jars, when she comes to our table, she rudely slammed the jar on the table in front of me!! She's lucky I held in my temper. We had also ordered a cake which was so ordinary that I almost refused to pay for it too. They charged almost $10 for a small slice of cake! I wouldn't be surprised if she was dishonest and inflated her prices to make up for the disgusting drinks I refused to pay for. We came here for cakes The honey hazelnut cheesecake didn’t look as appealing as the others that were being showcased but don’t be fooled in fact it was the most delicious. Five stars with no hesitation We also ordered lychee mousse and matcha cream . Unfortunately the match green tea was way way too sweet which was a disappointment becos I ordered it for my mum who has pre-diabetes.

My mother in law and I ordered the Pancake stack, and it was COLD, it tasted like they just finished sprayed the roach spray in there little cubicle and the aroma came on the pancakes. Like literally. The only fresh thing out of our order was the Chorizo sausage and the bacon we ordered on the side. Very disappointed. The customer service was great, but they were like busy moving around as if they had heaps of customers which there wasn't. They could have done better. Not going there anymore for pancakes for that matter.
