Superbe découverte. Plats à partager ou pas. Les poulpes sont excellents, très loin du caoutchouc qu'on nous sert en général. A fantastic little restaurant that serves traditional Portugese cuisine.
We came in for a very late dinner but the servers were still very friendly. Interior was warm and rustic and very cozy.
We got couple tapas and a main dish to share.
My favourite was the whole fried squid which was hot and fried to perfection. The puff pastry and goat cheese and ham was also very tasty and I would recommend you get multiple because you only get one per order.
The shrimp curry was good but I think there are much better options in terms of the main course.
Overall I would recommend this place if you’re ever in Sintra!

Incredible meal with an unbeatable view of the sunset, either reserve or come a little early to snag an ideal spot on the patio. The food here I pricey but justified based on the location, quality of the food and the service provided. Our server Nuno was fantastic, super friendly and gave amazing recommendations. The beef tartare was interesting, a very balanced dish that was honestly quite surprising. The scarlet shrimp paella was fantastic, super deep shrimp flavour and the scarlet shrimp themselves were unbelievable soft, the juice from the head pours right out, to elevate the rice that much more. Clams were also good with some really fantastic bites but I don’t think this is my preferred style of preparation. Not pictured was a chocolate mousse dessert that was also very good.

Calidad y sofisticación en la comida, es alta cocina portuguesa, todo preparado por la chef, la atención es íntima por la familia dueña del restaurante. Hay que reservar, son 7 mesas, abren a las 7 pm así que todo es preparado al momento, no hay nada que desmerezca, la entrada, los principales y la sobremesa exquisitos, el vino de la casa del sur de Lisboa muy bueno, es un lugar que sin duda deben de visitar en Sintra.

É um local que deve definitivamente visitar em Sintra.
Quality and sophistication in the food, high Portuguese cuisine, all prepared by the chef. The service is intimate, provided by the family who owns the restaurant. Reservations are required; it opens at 7:00 p.m., and everything is freshly prepared. The appetizers, main courses, and desserts are exquisite. The wine from Casa do Sul in Lisbon is excellent. It's a place you definitely must visit in Sintra.

We had an amazing dinner here. We accidentally arrived too early, but the restaurant owners were kind enough to allow us to seat inside and wait for dinner to start. Everything on the menu was delicious and this place is definitely worth reserving for dinner when in Sintra. Dishes are perfect for sharing.
All the staff in the restaurant speak excellent English and they would explain the dishes to you and which part of Portugal they’re from.

Great place to taste small local dishes that are also vegetarian. The team, the owner and the charming wife Yolanda who is a great cook were very attentive and lovingly explained what was on offer to every single client. The dishes were the best I ve had on this 10 day trip. I had the chickpea paste, beetroot salad, melted goat cheese on toast and the fantastic egg roll for dessert. A great find in Sintra

We came here with our tour guide, who picked the dishes for us, and trust me, everything we tasted was so good and made with love. Do NOT miss out on desserts. Pensão Sisudo is a really nice budget friendly guesthouse. The rooms are small but cozy and comfortable. Breakfast is really nice, breakfast is left in boxes in the kitchen, it includes a loaf of bread, chorizo, ham, cheese and butter. Also there are always great fruits, yogurts and coffee available.
It is worth mentioning that the entrance to the guesthouse is very narrow and the stairs are really steep, so its not suitable for people with disabilities.
The best part is the restaurant downstairs—it’s absolutely fantastic. Everything isl delicious, especially the octopus! Highly recommend visiting it. (But Its closed on Sunday evening)

Tourists beware: They bring very expensive appetisers (bread, olives, cheese) without asking if you want any, so we assumed they’re free (as is usually the case with bread in France, Germany etc.), but they charge you for them in the end (they cost us more than our starters combined). So just make sure to be very alert and tell staff before you’re heading to your table that you don’t want any appetisers (they virtually beat us to it, since the appetisers were already put down on our table whilst we were still hanging up our coats). Wow what an experience, we got to try every Portuguese food. The Barnacles were something new to me and they were surprisingly very nice, I could have eaten a lot more but had to save space for the main dish which was the duck rice, it is a big portion and very filling but tasty. The calamari strips were a good starter. The various desserts were great 👍 overall a fantastic restaurant.

Found this place through Google Maps, and it had that true local hidden gem vibe. We were the only Asian family there, which made it feel even more authentic. Most of the food I’ve had in Portugal hasn’t been bad, but I hadn’t come across anything particularly memorable—until this meal. We ordered one of their fresh fish dishes, simply cooked and served with vegetables. Nothing fancy, but when you drizzle some olive oil over it, the flavor really shines. Came here for brunch and was so glad to find that they offer gluten free bread!
So I had the sardine sandwich which was so good! Big portion too! The sardines went so well w the goat’s cheese, pickled onion and veggies.
My partner had the chicken empanada (so much filling in that tiny pastry!) and the Travesseiro de Sintra. He said the empanada was really good but would have been perfect if they had heated it up.
I went back and ordered a chicken salad to go for dinner. It was also really good. Generous portion and flavours went well together.
It can get crowded and for good reason!

Our dinner was delicious. It’s really just a friendly, comfortable place to enjoy a meal that is made with care. I had the mixed shrimp, octopus and cod meal . Everything was prepared perfectly. My husband had the cod burger, which also was delicious. Both came with delicious sweet potatoes. Finished with the chocolate cake, warm oozing chocolate. Mmm. The meals aren’t huge but large enough to fill an appetite. Prices are very fair. The staff was friendly and great service.

If this restaurant were in Lisbon, I’d eat here every day. It’s a hidden gem tucked away in Sintra, I only wish it were easier to get to!
You must try the seafood rice. it’s the real deal, full of fresh ocean flavor, not like the instant or artificial stuff.
The cod fish the staff recommended was absolutely delicious, and the draft wine tasted almost like sparkling wine — so refreshing and smooth.
I came here with my mom, and it turned out to be the happiest meal we’ve had during our trip to Portugal. Thanks to all the staff and chefs! They’re so welcoming and kind.

Are we really enjoyed this restaurant in Sintra Portugal. It was a lovely setting and featured authentic Portuguese food. Our server was wonderful. Two of us had fish soup as an appetizer and it was delicious.

Food: I wanted some sardines before I left Sintra and this was the place that was recommended and it did not disappoint. The sardines were done well and so was the salad and the potatoes which were soft and fluffy. The olive oil with the sardines and the potatoes also adds a nice depth to the dish. Additionally, the salad with the red peppers on the side work well as a pallet cleanser.
Service: I think that the service here is good! The staff were all nice and hospitable. We got to have a conversation about foreign currencies and this place welcomes locals and foreigners alike whilst being a bit far away from the main streets.
Atmosphere: It's kind of quiet but everyone did seem like they were having a good time and enjoying their meals at the table!

Really cute location in a hotel in Sintra. Our tour guide recommended we go here for lunch to eat some traditional Portuguese cuisine. The service was great - our waiter was very kind and personable and explained some of the dishes to us.
We ordered the veal steak and steak as mains and garlic prawns as a starter.
Prawns were disappointing - slightly overcooked and sauce was a bit salty. We noticed the last prawn on our plate was not deveined at all - which was pretty disgusting and unsanitary. The bread was not good. Dry and cold.
The veal steak I ordered was quite good, but the other steak my cousin ordered was not. Undercooked (she asked for medium) and the creamy sauce with capers did nothing to improve the flavor. Maybe we ordered the wrong things but we were disappointed with the food.

Buscando un buen restaurante cerca de nuestro alojamiento,nos recomendaron este, pero se olvidaron de decir k no tirásemos para adelante si no había aparcamiento porque es horroroso.
Una vez conseguimos aparcar en una explanada cercana antes de llegar, nos sentamos en unos bancos grandes de poca estabilidad en una mesa compartida.

We had a truly memorable dinner at Arola during our stay at Penha Longa Resort, for few times. The view alone is worth the visit — wide glass windows offer a stunning panorama of the forested hills.

The charcoal red wine aged beef entrecôte is medium rare. It is so flavourful after aged. The marbled piece is tender and juicy. The cooking was just right. It is so easy to over cook entrecôte as it is thin. Really loved this dish.
The monkfish blacking pudding rice was tasty. The rice is fully cooked with the flavour of all other Ingredients. It is not as oily as paella and it is not as starchy as risotto. It is well done.
Other dishes are good too especially the
“Caça” Croquette. The Shrimp Madagascar has a small portion. The ingredients are good and fresh. It is classic and also a bit lacklustre given how the other dishes were presented.
Excellent service. The server is very patient, knowledgeable, tentative and friendly. He has kindly offered a list of recommendations on things to do in our next stop in porto.

We were greeted with such kind service and immediately felt 'at home' and it kept on going from there. The staff were very accomodating for little ones among us too, which I especially appreciated.

O restaurante Terrace, dispõe de uma vista privilegiada para o mar, um menu bem elaborado e delicioso!!!
Na sequência das fotos, como prato principal o Confit de perna de Pato com Gnocchi de Espargo, Trufa e Parmeggiano, gente SURREAL de gostoso! Para entrada o Tártaro de Atum e Manga, delicioso, bem tropical e fresquinho! Pra quem gosta de peixe cru ou ceviche, vale muito a pena. Também pedimos foi as Gambas à Agillo, o tamanho das gambas é perfeito pra petiscar com uma cerveja gelada ou vinho branco! e por fim o último prato foi o Tarte de Bacalhau com queijo Brie, compota de cebola e salada de frutos secos! Afff desejando novamente!

It’s a complex answer, but COME ON PEOPLE… it’s the FOOD! If there is actually a story behind it all, coupled with great service and ambiance, then you’re getting five stars from me! Some intangible details are lacking for the lower tier of three stars on the Michelin scale, but the food and pairing is up there with the best of the best! :)

Just experienced one of my favorite meals here at Midori!
While the prices are quite steep and warrants a visit as a special occasion, I found the value to experience well worth the cost. We opted for the 9 course experience which consisted plates from appetizers, sashimi, sushi, cooked dishes to dessert. The portions were a bit small and reality was a good thing as there are so many dishes part of the experience that you should be beyond satisfied with the overall portion amount.
Every dish we experienced was so beautifully prepared that it was almost a shame to eat instead of just view.
Service was too notch as to be expected in a Michelin starred restaurant, but also to a bit to break the ice with our server to get a more relaxed experience. I’m not one for a stuffy environment.
The restaurant is quite small, but perfectly set up in a very spacious way and for a good part of the meal, we had the place to our own.
You will be seated overlooking the magical Sintra mountains and the well manicured grounds of the hotel.
Every part of our experience was just great and highly suggest a visit for your next special occasion.

Exceptional, amazing, wonderful, lovely! I can only rave about this unique and tasty dining experience. The staff was so kind and attentive, the view of the mountains was lovely, the ambiance was very relaxing, and some of the dishes had delicious combinations of flavors I had never experienced that were truly challenging my brain (in the best most delightful way). I also came for my birthday, and they really made it feel very personal and special. The whole experience lasted about 3 hours, but for us it was definitely necessary in order to make space for all the food (9 "moments" aka 11 small courses). We went here for dinner on our way back from the beach and had one of our best dinners in Portugal. The owner, Luis took amazing care of us and made us feel super welcome.
Now for the food…. everything was absolutely delicious. The couvert were rolls and tuna paté, freshly baked and homemade. We had two different seafood soups each for 4€ and what you get for that money is ridiculous. Full of perfectly done gambas, mussels, clams, everything you could want… I was blown away. Main course was their signature polvo (octopus) and bacalhau and both were spot on. The fish juicy and flavorful, but the octopus knocked it out of the park, best we‘ve ever had (!) and a huge portion at that, for around 20€. They understand price/value, let me tell you. Dessert was equally delicious.
If you come here, you’re gonna have a good time.

This typical Portuguese restaurant was started by Julio and now is managed by his family. It serves excellent Portuguese food with an option to have a set meal for €27 per person. This price includes appetisers, wine, one main course and dessert.
There is a long list of main dishes available, ranging from fish, meats to pasta and vegetables. The better choices in the list are the oven-roasted veal, grilled cod and grilled black pork steak. The appetisers consisted of olives, salami, cheese, bread and melon fruit. Be careful not to over-stuff yourself! Service was ok, not all speak english but you can communicate. they only thing I would give lower star is that they don't speak English but I will not as the food was really good, they even had percebes which you don't easily find in Lisbon and if you too is very expensive. Amêijoa Boa! So these are pretty much the best clams you can buy hence the high price of €25 euros, but they're almost falling out the shell they're so big and juicy. The owners don't need to buy such a premium type of clam so they obviously care about the quality of the produce they sell which I love.

Ich war am letzten Tag meines Aufenthalts im benachbarten Hotel eher zufällig hier essen – und es war die beste Entscheidung! Der gegrillte Thunfisch war unglaublich frisch, großzügig portioniert und perfekt gewürzt. Dazu gab es eine bunte Auswahl an Gemüse und Süsskartoffeln – endlich mal ein Gericht mit Geschmack und Liebe zum Detail.

No dia de Santo António de 2017 descobri este simpático restaurante familiar especializado em grelhados. Apesar de agradável sugiro que não fique na esplanada se não gostar de levar para casa o cheiro dos alimentos grelhados.
Comemos duas doses de sardinhas que estavam muito boas. Cada dose é composta por 6 sardinhas e 4 pequenas batatas cozidas com casca (10.80€ a dose).

Todos sabemos que por vezes apanha-se uma sardinha mole (ok há quem goste) mas se a sardinha fica na travessa praticamente inteira faz parte do serviço perguntar porque motivo não foi comida. Há casas que têm o cuidado de substituir as sardinhas que não estão boas. É um mimo que o cliente aprecia.
Para além da esplanada o espaço dispõe de duas salas agradáveis. Na cozinha é visivel a preparação e o empratamento dos pratos. Os WC encontram-se no exterior, o que poderá ser complicado num dia mais chuvoso. O WC das senhoras dispõe de fraldário. Não dispõe de TPA, por isso não se esqueça de levar dinheiro.
