It was my mother’s 80th birthday and we wanted something special but affordable and that is what we got. We could have had an early bird menu which is super but decided in the A laCarte as we wanted the Dover sole which was superb. Credit where due, the food was really good albeit on the pricier side. But for the experience it was well worth it. The waiting staff were all very nice. What ruined my experience was the reaction of the person in charge that day. We had specifically booked a birthday and brought a cake. We were told it was due to the rugby game the previous night. The interior is lovely and old, but it's so dark. When you imagine or picture a pub for a picturesque place such as Dublin, you picture a pub like The Club. We had some stout beers (Guiness and Beamish) which were lovely a creamy. The chicken wings were fine, we had them with the buffalo sauce I believe which was a good option. The steak sandwich I highly recommend and it one of the better ones I’ve had in the area, the steak was a striploin which was very tender and flavourful without being overly salty. For dessert we had the ‘death by chocolate’ case which is exactly what you might imagine with such a name, it does come with vanilla cream which I find brings a great balance to the cake. Staff was very friendly and also knowledgeable about the menu, food and drinks came relatively fast which is always positive. The atmosphere is beautiful, beautiful brown bar which (to me) looks historic/vintage yet very well maintained. Great place to be and will come back for sure!

The menu had a good variety of dishes and our party was not easy to cater for with different spice levels but as for main course we had the signature dish which gave a great variety and plenty with chicken, beef, prawn, lamb and lentil. I would advise if you have a good appetite their is plenty of sauces and additional naan or rice is recommended. We had the starter platter which really is a taster and was delicious but petite. The restaurant was quite busy but a nice atmosphere where their was a buzz. But you could easily communicate within your group. A special request of a birthday celebration was organised and kindly served before desserts were ordered. The overall experience at Rasam was certainly one that would bring me back and recommend to friends and family. A fantastic evening shared with my family and thank you to the Rasam team for a lovely time.

Cracking meal - You can tell the chips are freshly cut (not frozen). The food was cooked to perfection. Loved the Cod & Chips - batter was light and crispy and full of flavour. Thought it was great value for the quality of food you get.
