The last time we were there, I got the mussels in white wine appetizer special, and the portion was very generous, not to mention so delicious. Some of the pictures on Google Maps are deceptive, there are 20 covers upstairs and a further 20 downstairs and the place is clearly popular so advised to reserve. The staff are very attentive and with customary Thai welcomes and humble service we were treated to lovely food, efficiently served in a pleasant environment. It was also competitively priced. Every member of staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly. The restaurant was calm, clean and had a lovely atmosphere. But the absolute shining star was the food. I have eaten in curry houses all over the country and the quality and flavour was the best yet. Every dish had beautifully balanced flavours and even the hotter dishes were balanced and fragrant rather than just killing it with fire. The duck was especially delicious and I also recommend the ginger and honey naan which was the perfect accompaniment. As a family of 4 we all thoroughly enjoyed every dish and had clean plates all round. Even my 15 year, who is usually very spice averse, loved the garlic chilli chicken which, despite having a decent kick, was so full of flavour. Will definitely stop in again when passing.

Either train your staff to address no dogs policy ( even in the outdoor bit ) or give the full refound after misleading someone to believe dogs are fine when they serve you a drink just to kick you out 5 min later. Popped into the White Horse last week to have some lunch and refreshments while I was waiting for my car which was having some work on it to be completed at a local garage. Our other dog was made to feel very welcome including being allowed into the bar area where we had our evening meal on a table setup specially for us, while the other guest were catered for in the restaurant. All the staff were excellent in particular Rob and Allan showed great customer service and allowed us to remain in the hotel while we waited for the outcome of the operation the next day. The meals were excellent especially the vegetables, kudos to the chef. Lovely breakfast. The house and grounds are lovely and has very period character. Only issue was the loose flags in the carpark which made a noise when cars ran over them but probably only an issue if you are in separate coach house rooms. However every thing else was excellent.

Rooms are dated but the decor in the rooms make them very well presented. Staff helped us if we ever needed anything and they were bright and cheerful which is always nice to see. Plenty of space and tables outside for a sunny day, dogs welcome...great drinking barrel for them outside. The ladies toilets were small but very clean and hygienic items provided which is a lovely touch. Would highly recommend and I can add my first South African dish to my belt. We will definitely be returning for Sunday lunch and/or drinks in the winter months. Thank you

We booked a table for 14 and the owners were so accommodating, setting up a lovely table for us outside.
