It was a very confusing experience. Having white tables, doesn’t automatically make a place opulent. Food standard didn’t match the surrounding. Paneer tikka was actually really nice, small but still good. Confused to why a place like that needed such a bright fake green chutney tho. Curries were odd to say the least. I always get sad when restaurants think they can serve whatever and their customers don’t know any better. Had about 5 pieces of lamb in the naga. It was full of heat but lacked flavour and complexity. Butter chicken was more like a korma.. which still tasted good but wasn’t anything like a butter chicken. Naans were nice.

From entering, our group was persistently stared at and whispered about from these female staff and even though they acknowledged that we saw it all, it clearly is not in line with your service to treat guests respectfully as they didn’t find it necessary to stop. Due to us being the last table of the evening, I would of suspected there to be more work in terms of closing the business for the night instead of staff having a gossip between themselves over your customers but I guess I am mistaken. We came for a birthday meal with hopes high after receiving good reviews on the establishment however was sorely disappointed with the food and service we received. WILL NOT BE RETURNING OR RECOMMENDING!!!

I ordered a mixed grill and chicken tikka with pilau rice. I asked what was in the mixed grill and was told they have sheesh. I informed the person on the phone I wasn’t a fan of sheesh so they offered and gave me extra chicken instead of the sheesh. How kind I really appreciate it. The best mixed grill I’ve had. Absolutely amazing and I’ll definitely be ordering from them again! They also delivered very quickly and food was a 10/10. Thank you and we’ll be back.

I had a really disappointing experience here. The chips were awful - they had a strange, off smell, were undercooked, and completely unseasoned. The food overall was bland and tasted terrible, especially for the price - it’s seriously overpriced for the quality. The service was just as bad. We were ignored multiple times, and the food arrived very late and they kept taking the sauces away. On top of that, I was made to feel uncomfortable when staff repeatedly called me “madam” or “ma’am,” even though I’m clearly quite young. It felt inappropriate and really off-putting. The meal aweful, the quality of the lamb was just fat and grissle which I nearly choked on, the beef not much better, as for the sausages I’d love to know where they buy from because they were bland and tasteless. Didn’t even eat half of meal. When member of staff came to table there was No “ was everything ok”, just “ Have you finished and would you like dessert?” My response was “ No, if the dessert is as bad as the main meal then forget it”, she just grinned and walked off with plates, returned with bill no apologies nothing. Amazingly a customer who was seated next to us had commented to her about the meat being tough, he got a reduction off his bill, we weren’t given that hospitality at all. Have had meals here before never this bad and most certainly won’t be returning. Over £40 spent total waste of money. Anyone wanting to use a Blue Light Card on a Sunday for discount forget it they don’t give it. Toby should remember Blue Light Card holders work over 7 days not 6. Discraceful !

Probably best to call ahead and book a table, but my colleague and I had not; we were still received happily and found a table quickly. While I ordered two meats, I believe this resulted in my receiving more ham and less beef—I’ll just order the beef next time. I’m from the US, and we don’t have anything like the dumpling and Yorkshire, which are so good—everything was good! The staff were exceptional, friendly, and prompt. On first impressions, it’s a lot bigger, louder, and you can clearly see a big investment has been made. We were seated at our table and ordered drinks. The mains arrived; however, there had been some confusion, and there was a 4/5 minute wait until my wife’s dish was ready. Again, both mains were lovely. Mine packed some heat and delivered the 3 chilli rating. So, food-wise, there were no complaints; service was efficient. My only criticism is that it didn’t feel like a Thai restaurant; it felt very impersonal and had lost its character we loved. That’s a personal opinion. The waiter was very friendly. The restaurant needs a good over haul & decorating, it's looking really old & shabby. The food was nice, but not like our used to be. I did mention this and they got me a new one, but unfortunately it was exactly the same. The steak was a bit tough. But we had a lovely overall evening, a night out is what you make it. Came here with some family today and as someone who has never been to the beefeater I thought it would actually be alright however that thought was gone when I got my food. People who I was with has ordered 2 mixed grills and at about £25 you would think your getting a deal until you see the plate. We had steak very burned, gammon that makes you depressed that an animal had to die for it and about 7 chips on the plate honestly not worth the money. I had the short rib beef wasn't the best but I've definitely had better. It was served on top of this bread that was basically raw so had to send it back. For 5 people we payed around £140 including a drink each (no alcoholic drinks either). As disgusting as it is i must also mention that I had diarrhea a couple of hours after eating here and so did some of my family. This also seems to actually be a running theme at this place. Overall not worth the visit paying extortionate prices for below average food. Place needs a good refurbishment and menu needs fixing. 2/10

There were many drinks options. My partner did unfortunately have to repeat his drinks order after waiting for 20 minutes with no appearance of his very easy to pour drink so that's a little disappointing. Food was delicious. Piping hot from the kitchen and served quite quickly. Lots of choice too for all dietary requirements. A little expensive though. The atmosphere was lovely. Ambient lighting, comfortable seats, a nice smoking area and outside bar area, and generally very lovely place. I cannot recommend the Nazar lounge enough. The food here is amazing, there are plenty of options to choose from on their menu at reasonable prices. The food is delicious, I often go for the wings. I had the Lamb Chops Special appetiser, which was absolutely delicious - meat so tender and spices amazing. For main I chose the Shoo Coo Tee, a Goan speciality - this was so good, perfectly spiced and complex in taste and even the chicken breast meat was plentiful, succulent and not dry. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough - if you live in Bedford, there is no better Indian food, believe me - I've lived here for over 50 years. We can't wait to return... On arrival we were quickly seated, however within a few minutes we found it to be very draughty so asked to be seated elsewhere and took a table in what must have been a fireplace on years gone by. We had expected a warm, cosy country pub, however it was anything but. Two parties who arrived after us were seated where we were originally sat and they too moved due to the draught. The wood burner at the opposite end to where we were sitting kept pretty much burning out with a feeble flame and any heat it did produce barely reached our table, so we were quite cold for the entire meal. Service was polite but generally very slow for both drinks and food ordering, plus a long wait for the food to arrive. Nut roast was more the consistency of a sloppy lentil moussaka, the small roast beef had only one slice of beef, which seemed measly even for a small option and both were served with dry, overcooked Yorkshire puddings, whilst the veg were actually very nice. The falafel salad was ok and the fish and chips, I’m informed, were very pleasant. The food was edible but certainly nothing to write home about. Decided not to send the food back due to the long wait we’d experienced initially. Overall - a disappointing experience and none of us will be rushing back. Sorry. 😕

We were offered both the Sunday roast menu and the usual menu and when they came to take the order was told its only the Sunday roast so had to change our options. The vegan meal had a Yorkshire on it so that had to go back and they said they would replate and the gluten free had cauliflower cheese on which they said was gluten free. The vegans meals gravy was also questionable as to if it was actually vegan. We asked for more veg as the vegans plate was a little sparse being less a Yorkshire and cauliflower cheese. We also asked for more cauliflower cheese as what we were given was little more than a teaspoon in each plate. We were told no as the kitchen was too busy but then a small bowl of each came out. The 6th meal didn't turn up. We enquired as to where it was and was told it wasn't on the ticket but the waitress had read back the order. By this time there was no lamb left only beef or pork and our friend doesn't really like either and had gone past wanting to eat by then so just decided not to eat. My beef was horrendous very stringy which I reported to them. We did ask to speak to a manager but they weren't there. The staff did apologise and took 3 meals off the bill. To rub salt into the wound when we came out, other people were sat there with burgers off the other menu. It's a shame as our friends had to been there before and said their meals had been amazing from the main menu. The restaurant are aware of everything we encountered so its not a case of why didn't you say something at the time. Drinks are also quite pricey.

Wow is all I have . The pizza was so doughy and rubbery you could of bounced it out the restaurant. The salad had enough salt on it to grit the roads of bedford. We visited on a Saturday evening and there were no more reservations being taken, so were lucky to secure a table at all - make sure you reserve if you’re going at peak time! The first thing which unfortunately strikes is how cramped the place is. It’s a large restaurant but they’ve really crammed the tables in, both in the main dining area as well as the extension to the side. The sheer volume of people in the place, along with wooden chairs on the tiled floor makes it very noisy, although it’s certainly a lively atmosphere. The (what I assume to be newer) extension on the side isn’t quite decorated to the same level as the main area so feels a little detached and ‘no-frills’ but fortunately the level of service from the staff was just as good. The menu is basic, just as you’d expect a traditional small family run place to be, and naturally pizzas are the focus although there are a few other Italian dishes. The choice of pizzas is very large and the prices for even the most heavily topped ones is reasonable. Orders were taken quickly from the staff, drinks were served fast and despite how busy the place was, the main meals arrived really quickly. The pizzas were large although there was quite a space left between the edges and the topping, meaning there was probably too much burnt base for the size. However the toppings were generous and cooked thoroughly. Everyone in the group found the size filling enough to not need any desert orders! The staff were brilliant throughout being really fast, always on hand and friendly. This is a credit to them given how many other diners there were. The noise levels were far too high to make it a relaxing experience though, and being crammed in so tight amongst everyone else was a shame. Other than that though it was a great meal and felt really authentic. I’ll certainly return, just probably not at such a popular time.

In the daytime I would say its easily one of the best pubs you could go to in Bedford, however as just like a bad case of werewolf-ism as soon as night comes it turns into a whole different atmosphere. Truthfully i havent really had much of their food, so i can't honestly rate it, however i did have a couple of their bbq food when they were doing them earlier this year, and those burgers were to die for. Staff are all genuinely really nice people, always chatty and down for some top quality banter, absolutely nothing to complain about the hard-working bar staff, and security who are also generally nice people. Atmosphere in the pub is almost unmatched, as they have really dedicated themselves to offering a high-class feeling pub, with luxury decor and all that good stuff, you just kinda have to go there and soak it all in. Myself and my wife dined here for our anniversary for the first time, and we were really impressed by the service and the freshness of the food. The restaurant is small and quaint, this  helps to create a lovely warm atmosphere and the owners Lino and Roberto make you feel so welcome and could not be more attentive to your needs. They make you feel as though you are in their own home. The starter and main menu is varied and uncomplicated, you can choose from a tapas menu also. All their food is cooked from fresh and their homecooked bread is a real treat. All their fish is sourced from the local fishmongers, you must try the mussels and the prawns in a lime and chilli dressing they are a real triumph. The pasta is made fresh and was perfectly al dente. We cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. 2likeus Bistro is a real breath of fresh air serving fresh quality unpretentious food and a very reasonable price. Cant wait to go back!!!!! So out of the blue we decided to give it a go to this caribian food restaurant, it looked interesting as it was going to be out first time to try the food from that side of the world. I have to say that we have enjoyed the experience pretty much, everything has been top notch. The atmosphere in this restaurant is really relaxing, with the background music that is there if you want to listen to it but it does not interfere in your conversations, that's really nice. The service was fantastic and they have made a really pleasurable experience. Food was really tasty and me and my wife had generous plates. There are a few beers to choose from, but it is the rum menu what rally makes a difference, we'll try next time. Overall very nice eatery. I like it and recommend it, please give it a go yourself.

Great choice of dishes, all cooked to perfection. The best Thai food I’ve eaten in ages. The dumplings and the Salt & Pepper Squid were incredible. This review is based off of our visit tonight and i would never usually leave negative reviews but the whole experience wasn't great. Beef patty was plain, hardly any filling, probably why i couldn’t taste it, The crust was ok My gosh the curry goat, as Jamaicans we know the importance of washing & preparing the meat to a high standard, Jemz does not understand this. The goat meat smell was fatty, gamey & pungent. Need to wash your meat properly & remove the fat correctly. The meat was tender but that is the only positive. The taste was fatty, salty with no familiar Jamaican flavours. I would describe it as salty brown water. The fact that you served it to me is offensive, i don't get how Jamaicans cannot prepare yard food correctly. The fried dumpling was nice, however the ackee & salt fish was so bland, none of that familiar salty fish flavour, lacked seasoning, I was shocked at the lack of flavour tbh. Again the portion of the filling was so so small. The plantain was ok, could’ve been more ripe. Best part about this meal was the Tupperware it came in, i can give that to my mudda to put her good good food in it 😂

When you go to the bar, you're generally faced with 2 options, a queue of people ordering food, no problem, but when their order isn't available, it's a trip back to to discuss other options with family members and then the queuing people get frustrated. Admittedly it was very quiet due to time of day, but staff were so friendly - the service was top class. Elise was our server and she genuinely made us feel really welcome and like nothing was too much trouble. She knew the menu, and gave service with a smile. It was my first time coming here, it is beautiful decorated with Christmas-themed items and trees and the place itself has a very nice and peaceful ambience. We had ordered all our meals weeks in advance from the Christmas menu. They had plenty of options and you can choose from 2 courses or 3 courses. To pre-book a table in advance, it was £10 per person, but this gets deducted from the final bill. The food was delicious and although the portions don’t look big, the meals were very heavy. Well worth the money and I would definitely come here again in the summer time so that I can see more of the view of Box End Park. There is also plenty of parking on the premises which is free.
