The main patio is only feet from the bay with stunning views. We were lucky enough to have dinner while the sun was setting. Service was quick and friendly. We accept to stay outside. After 30 mins they called us and said that you can come inside in the next 10 mins! The young staff (3 people) didn’t have any experience to manage that situation. Even after we went inside nobody served us for another 7 mins! We had stopped for an overnight in Parry Sound and needed a place to eat. We stumbled across this place and what a gem it is! The views and service were great. The service was extremely slow the day we went, there were multiple tables available but they kept us waitingin line. When we finally got our food, we thought it was delicious. I got the white fish which is larger flakes and a more dense texture. The batter was light and crispy. The fried fish had no traces of oil in the fried batter. Guess consistency not a thing. Had a reservation for 6pm. Walked into a restaurant with only 1 server on pub side and no service on fine dining side. If this restaurant was under staffed they should NOT have been open for fine dining. You pay much more for good service and food. We were the only ones on Disalvo side. Ordered 2 Steam Whistle Beers that were flat. The server should have saw there was no head on the beer. I have been a server for years myself. At least tell the customer you are alone and be honest. After 15 min of no return. We Got up. My boyfriend insisted to pay for the beers. I said not to, beer was dead and if the server had of come back we could have told her. He left a 20$ on table. We got up and walked out. I left but my boyfriend was stopped my the only server. She said she was sorry, they were understaffed and she was alone. The bill on other side would have been double the pub side. Having a restaurant under staffed on a Sunday evening is gross. Like I said, close one side and not take reservations. Not sure if I will give this place another try? My sister hated her 1st time, flat champagne too. But had a better experience next time. If consistency is not there you will loose customers. Do Better! I have been in this restaurant over the course of my life. Many name changes and menu's too. I was somewhat reluctant to try this but it was my birthday and my boyfriend said, how bad can fine dining be. As we entered, it had the reg pub look I was used to. Knowing the layout that fine dining must be off to the side, I was pleasantly surprised. Wow! Way to step up that room. It was beautiful, comfortable seats, nice level of music. Really classy. Now Ashley was our amazing waitress. She was working the room like a champ. Took orders and brought drinks out quickly, good at suggestive selling. Beer was SO cold, yummy. I like the chilled class water bottles at each table as well. Settings are well thought out. I appreciate spacing out guests tables as well. The appetizers were delicious. Home made bread and fresh salads. Meals are served hot, plenty of it and even know i was so full, we shared a desert too. A wonderful experience from start to finish. Our server was nothing short of amazing. The food on the other hand was terrible. We ordered the scallops as a starter and arrived ice cold in the middle. We thought "that's okay it happens to everyone" then our entrees arrived. Update : as I wrote, some of the fries were UNDERCOOKED. That means they were still hard ( not too soggy as you responded). What I didn't mention was that, I was waiting, standing between both closed windows while the cook and server were inside because I didn't know which window to order from. A woman walked up from behind me and up to the right window, where the server opened her window and began chatting. It sounded like they knew eachother and i thought she may have been picking up an order until I heard this woman order for her family! I was on a lunch break from work on limited time and didn't appreciate your server not taking my order first since I had been standing there first, regsrdless of knowing this other customer. So to get my order and rush home only to find some of my fries were undercooked (hard) was disappointing. Trust me, I love nothing more than giving 5 star reviews and wish that was the case every time I choose to spend my hard earned money but unfortunately that's not always the case. The batter is light but so flavorful and a fabulous crispness that makes every bite delicious. Their tartar sauce is also light and fresh with a bright dill flavor. Nothing special and pricing was high for what you get. It was $10 for the medium size you see. Kart is pretty and looks great. Easy to access location by the Canadian Tire with lots of parking space. There is something wrong with the food. I’ve never experienced this at any other Mc Donald’s. It’s as if they pre-cook everything and then cook it again when you order. The fries are harder to chew, dry and very little salt. The burgers are always cold. The drinks.. mixed reviews here. Pop seems watered down with not much flavour. We keep forgetting how horrible this place is and stopping there. We will NOT make that mistake again! There are so many other restaurants close by. Don’t wast your money for something you think is going to be familiar… it’s NOT. Drive through I can’t comment on, but if you need to go inside the restaurant, be prepared to wait unless you use the kiosk to order. You feel invisible. We have been coming to this McDonald’s for over 27 years and it has only changed in the last year. We are so sad… so much for tradition.. this one will be broken. Not going back. Corporate should look into this place.
