The family-owned restaurant came highly recommended by the locals, so we had to try it. The stuffed mushrooms were great appetizer for sharing, and the crab dip was amazing. I ordered pork ribs with spaghetti for my entree. The ribs were saucy and tender, while the spaghetti came with meat sauce that was full of flavours. While I am not exactly a pasta expert, I could imagine eating that meat sauce everyday. The chicken parm and chicken breast also received rave reviews from my table. I came out of the restaurant full and satisfied. This restaurant is now my choice place to visit whenever I am in the area craving for Italian cuisine.

For starters, I’d highly recommend the steak tartare. It was excellent: high-quality beef, generously portioned, with capers for just the right balance. We shared it between four people, and it was more than enough. To finish, we had the sticky toffee pudding. Be warned, it’s very sweet, but also rich, indulgent, and beautifully done (we shared it between four!) British food often gets a bad reputation, but The Common Stove proves just how good it can be. A big well done to the team for delivering such an impressive showcase of British flavours.

Everything from start to finish was fantastic. Drinks were coming down the stairs before the entire group had even finished ordering their cocktails. We were there on Sunday of the Thanksgiving weekend in order to celebrate a birthday. The steaks were excellent - cooked exactly to order and they were seasoned perfectly. The potato of the day was delicious. Two of the group had Caesar salad to start and both of them said the salads were excellent. Of course we had dessert! The server went out of her way to ensure the pumpkin pie had whipped cream with it. The warm butter tarts with ice cream were yummy. We were also pleasantly surprised when all the staff signed a birthday card for the birthday girl. What a nice touch. Thank you Era 67. Unfortunately, this visit was highly disappointing. Our reservation was for 6pm on a Sunday evening and the restaurant was very quiet with only about 3 other tables. They were out of two of their main dishes, Prime Rib and Tenderloin but failed to mention any of this until we ordered our entree's. Four of Five in our party were looking forward to these meals and had we known prior to ordering drinks etc, we would have likely chosen to dine elsewhere. While taking our order, the server was slow to enter items on his tablet and at times repeated orders back incorrectly. We also had a mishap when our server was grinding fresh pepper for our guest, and dropped the pepper mill on his dinner plate, landing on his steak and mashed potatoes. In doing so, he just picked up the pepper mill and said we could apply it ourselves. No real apology, no offer to exchange his meal etc, and said his wrist got sore. The whole experience from the moment we walked in the door, to service and atmosphere was very lack-lustre. At least our food was fairly good. I understand we are all human and subject to error or an "off" day. Hoping they can really turn this poor experience around as we have recommended Era 67 many times in the past.

Overall the experience was positive and I left knowing I would return for the food again. The menu was straight forward. There was a small selection of appetizers, entrees that weren't burgers and then, of course, burgers. The multitude of options made ordering fun. There are an incredible amount of ways to customize your dinner. I settled on the PB & J with chicken as the protein, a potato roll bun and onion rings. When the food arrived I was pleased to see the onion rings weren't the same frozen then fried onion rings I encountered at 90% of other restaurants. They were great. Next was my PB & J chicken burger. I am an adventurous eater and getting peanut butter & jelly on the burger was a first for me. I was quite impressed with how well the flavours worked together! The chicken was cooked in a way that I like and the sweet peanut butter and jelly flavours complimented the other ingredients on the burger. I think I would order this again! For dessert they had a deep fried cheesecake on the menu. I just had to indulge. What I got were two Twinkie sized treats covered in powdered sugar and served with jelly on the side. It's dessert so of course it was super delicious! The restaurant itself is your typical sports pub and this isn't necessarily a good thing. There were numerous television sets every angle you look at and, of course, the music was blasting. It just subtracted from the experience with is ultimately why I am only giving this place a four star review. Overall, and as I said earlier, I would return. The food is always amazing. Most of the waitstaff are very accommodating and offer great service. With extensive management experience I am constantly observing my surroundings when out for dinner. The kids could not remember ever coming here before so it was new for them. The lineup goes pretty quick. They have taken your order and settled up payment before you even reach the inside. The cheeseburger was on the dry side and overcooked. Surprisingly, as many of the patties I saw were cooked to perfection. The location is perfect for a pitstop which draws the crowd. The staff were energetic and positive. They were responsive but not necessarily the best problem solving. From our room we looked at the menu online. We ordered the osso buco which came with redskin mashed and veg. And chicken marsala which our menu said was chicken parm with tortellini in a rose sauce. (We assumed the parm had a marsala sauce) The osso buco was cooked very nicely, the marrow was tender and easily came out with a knife and the meat was tender but not braised too long. The seasoning was a nice traditional style-ish (some placed do tomato based now) the sauce/gravy was very meaty and thick. It didn't have the cinnamon undertone you usually find. Even if not purely traditional, it is among the best I've ever had and the portion was enormous. Being the last serving left, it might have been more generous than usual. The price was moderate compared to entrees at chain roadhouses, so very good value for the quality we received. Marsala is usually breaded chicken breast medallions and often with mushrooms in a marsala wind reduction. Our online menu seemed like a twist, being parm. Like the osso buco, the chef is free to bring their vision. Sadly the online menu differed from the paper menu, which we never saw until the meal was not what we expected. It was skinless, boneless chicken breast with mashed and a white marsala sauce. So the special, steak Oscar, one would expect steak with crab or lobster. The steak with 4 jumbo prawns is not steak Oscar, I don't know why they didn't call it surf and turf. Clearly at this restaurant you have to ask a lot of questions and know that the online menu is not kept up to date. The caesar salad was dressed appropriately, came with a creamy dressing that had no noticeable anchovy flavour. The serving size was a bit modest but had plenty of croutons that tasted fresh and were nicely seasoned. There was a mistake in the ordering and by the time it was fixed our entrees which sat on the counter were not so hot any longer. We were bringing them back to our room where we were able to microwave them briefly. The apple blossom and chocolate mousse were nice, as good as what you'd expect from something purchased from a good restaurant supply company. Except for these things I would have said 3 stars: 1) The staff, even if not precise were warm, and delightful. 2) The space was peaceful and casual, well enough lit but not bright, clean and spacious. It was nice to be there. The A/C was pleasant, not too cold and cool enough. 3) The osso buco was outstanding, at any price. Not offering a pasta of any kind to accommodate the menu mix-up and that the food was not hot by the time it was all ready to take to our room, that kept it from 5.

What an amazing spot, the staff and owner (?) were so kind, patient and happy. The whole street smelled amazing and I adored seeing the staff in the back giggling and goofing around. Clearly amazing management here. We got cinnamon rolls (Chelsea buns) and my only regret is not getting more. I think I said “wow these are SO GOOD” about 4x while inhaling my roll. The butter tarts were also superb. I’m glad my mom was able to experience a bit of nostalgia, and I was able to try a new, amazing spot. We might be almost 2 hours away but we’re definitely planning another trip out there soon :) Thank you for the memories and goodies!!

What a disappointment that was. Luckily this is the last time we'll be back here. The pizza is burnt on the top. I mean you have to be blind not to see that you have burnt pizza so no quality check like some other pizza places. Garlic cheesy sticks are were so bland that you taste no cheese at all. The sauce is literally the only thing that gives those things a flavor. The biggest issue of why we will never be back and can't recommend this place is because the workers can't do simple math or over charged us on purpose. It really doesn't matter which because its the principle not the couple bucks. When I arrived to pay, she input flat 30 into the machine and I asked her is the total really 30 flat? She said its 29.97 so she just put 30.00 because its easy. Yet the real order is $28.12. Not sure why would a business want to lose customers with ripping a buck or two here and there but when you ask to double check the bill and she bluntly lies about it while looking at the number is beyond me. Dishonesty? Incompetence? It really is a foreign concept. The experience and customer service is why people come back. Not because your pizza is mediocre.
