They were very attentive and good at responding quickly once you got their attention. The meat starters in particular were perfectly cooked with a great level of spice. The vegetarian starters were really good and again had a good deal of flavor. The aloo tikki was a bit soggy but other than that we were really happy. Unfortunately once the mains arrived, the fun stopped. Almost every dish we ordered was bland, and lacking any discernible spices. The chana masala had no masala, the palak paneer had no real flavour beyond the greens, the paneer chili was not spicy at all. The palak kofta was pretty good albeit the koftas were really soggy. The mixed grill was pretty good similar to the starters so if you've ordered the Awjain chicken or Tawa Sheekh, I wouldn't bother. It doesn't seem value for money for just another two pieces of chicken and two chops, I'd order it separately. We received a free kulfi as our aloo kulchas tasted weird to us which was a sweet touch but ultimately it was grainy/crystallized.

As a whole the visit would have been fine, had the food not been such a let down. The "fish and chips" was in fact a mere slither of fish with 40% batter which was even undercooked. The chips or rather fries were inedible. Completely overcooked and oily. To make matters worse, the meal was expected to come with mushy peas but I was just served regular peas. The best part of the dish was unfortunately the tartar sauce. We would have liked the opportunity to share this feedback with the staff however once the dishes were served we were not made aware of any condiments available or asked if we are ok with our meal. I would like to think that I just caught The Prince of Wales on a bad day, however I will not be returning to find out if that is indeed the case.

Food was amazing … if you want a restaurant which is family run, an excellent specials menu from Crab/Lobster to Fillet Steak, then go to Le Petit Nantais. It has a great atmosphere, excellent romantic venue for couples to a Sunday afternoon venue with the family. We went on Sunday afternoon for my husbands birthday and started with Oysters, followed by French Onion Soup & main course was Steak Rossini with Foie Gras on a bed of Crostini with Dauphinoise potatoes. Price … spare no expense but it was worth every penny.
