My Aunt and Uncle came to visit us from Idaho. My Aunts last request was to have dinner on the water. I looked up the top three on the wharf and Rivas was one of them. A seafood restraunt at the end of the pier. There's no better ambiance and a view than this. The food was good. The flavor of the clam chowder, I would grade as a C. It was missing more goodies and flavor than other clam chowders have. It had too much flour in the rue, but it was hot. The halibut tacos were fresh, but lacked flavor. The beer on tap was fantastic and the servers were friendly. I love the ocean and the view of the sail boats and sea life, which make it so much more enjoyable.

Plenty of food choices, with different categories too! Plenty of options for picky eaters. It's a quiet, nice little atmosphere, with plenty of decor to go around. You can tell they care, and that it's more than a job (I believe it's family operated, but that's just a guess!). On the other side of the bathrooms is this wonderful Cafe. I checked the reviews and they were high so we decided to give it a try. We enjoyed the Cod Sandwich, one of the bowls, a burrito and one of the dilla's. All the food was delicious and fresh and homemade. There's no dining inside. They have several picnic tables sitting outside the restaurant with a fantastic view of the ocean. They are very dog friendly. There is gluten free and vegan options. Wheelchair accessible as well.

First time here and didn’t realize the slowly moving floor was a thing, but it ensures you have a nice window seat at least part of the meal. We got two different MaiTais, the 1944 MaiTai and the Hawaiian, we both preferred the more traditional Hawaiian. Our steak and salmon were both good, well cooked and seasoned. The overall tiki theme is great, and the metal octopus sculpture outside is a nice touch.

I only gave Gilda's two stars for service because of the other employees there; if it had just been Jocelyn's review, it would have been a 5+. The soap used there smells awful long after ( same as in their restroom) dries out your skin. Also it would be nice if they would remove the table from the HANDICAP PARKING.. The parking lot is VERY small and you need to literally squeeze yourself out of your vehicle because of how close the parking spots are here.

I liked the dip though. The location of the restaurant is at the end of the wharf so it's a good location but despite them having the umbrellas for each table, the area is too congested and the sun still hits your face whole time that I was eating there. The oysters were really small and the clam chowder was okay for taste, they should provide bacon-free clam chowder for people who don't eat bacon but they don't. Overall, the prices were outrageous for the quality of food and service we received. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I feel like I throw my money in the ocean.

The place was fairly busy but we got lucky and got a booth by the window. The view was amazing! We started off with the clam chowder in a bread bowl. This was our first time trying so we can't compare it to anything else but this one was delicious. The soup was creamy and the sourdough bread was actually fresh and also quite good. I don't personally eat seafood but I did try the soup and I thought it was really good. For the main I had the pulled pork sandwich and since they obviously specialize in seafood I didn't expect much but it was actually pretty good. The BBQ sauce was good and there was a good amount of meat. The bread again was delicious and toasted which was slightly crunchy. The fries somehow tasted just like McDonald's fries. The other main dish was the prawns and scallops. The dish was really good but we thought it would have been better had the shrimp been grilled instead of how it was served. The vegetables were nothing special and could have used some seasoning on them as well. Service was really good as well so if visiting Santa Cruz again we would definitely come back.

We’ve eaten here a couple times and honestly it’s not great but it’s okay. At this cafe there’s no wait staff taking your order. You order from the menu on the wall and then grab it yourself when it’s ready and have a seat.
