With an art pass it's £3.50 which I think is okay, but £7 for a museum this small is too much. That being said, the staff are excellent and the museum itself contains plenty of information. I am hugely interested in the Georgian period and love Bath as a historical city, and its architecture is a huge part of that. It's small and compact, and you could spend 1-2 hours there (I only had 1.5 hours and I was rushing, but I read everything). If you enjoy architecture, particularly Georgian, you'll enjoy yourself and it will be worth it, but if you are just passing by you may feel bored and as though you were overcharged.

Built by William Beckford as part of his landscape gardens to keep part of his collection of art. It is set in a beautiful location overlooking magnificent countryside. Indeed from the top we were able to see the White House at Roundway Hill Devizes which was amazing. We had booked the lantern tour as well as standard access which allowed us a guided tour right up in the top of the lantern. The gentleman who was our guide was friendly and informative. The architecture of the tower is spectacular especially the winding staircase to the top. It was good to be able to see some of the architectural details and restoration. If you decide to go up to the lantern remember there are alot of steps! The Lansdown Cemetery has taken over part of the original landscaped gardens, and William Beckford was the first burial in the new cemetery which was established after his death, the cemetery is interesting in itself and if you follow the main path it leads to the Grotto. We were delighted to see a coffee van by the Grotto entrance which was delightful 😊

I spent the rest of the time in there laughing while trying to find the exit before my untimely death arrived. Whoever you are, you really made the experience, and my day. There is also SO much to look at, each room has so many props and pictures and trinkets and the stairways are covered in the most amazing posters. It just gets better and better the higher up you go and there is something to touch or play with or listen to on every floor. Staff were really lovely and being the middle of a weekday in November I'm pretty sure we had the place to ourselves!
