This beach had very calm and clean waters, fine sand ideal for making sand castles and clean enough for kids to play around with. Family friendly place be it day or night. Ideal area to be with family. Very relaxed environment, beach boys selling seats to tourists, helpful people around.

Kata Beach, eh? Now that’s a slice of paradise that could make any snowbird trade their toque for a snorkel. The sand’s so soft it’s like walking on sifted flour from your grandma’s kitchen, and the water’s bluer than a Saskatchewan winter sky. You dip your toes in and instantly forget what frostbite even is. We parked ourselves on the beach like a couple of seagulls with nowhere better to be, sunscreen layered thicker than poutine gravy. The waves rolled in just strong enough to keep things spicy—perfect for a quick boogie without losing your swim trunks to the sea gods. There were paddleboarders out there balancing like they’d just passed Level 10 yoga, and we’re over here trying not to spill our mango shakes. Everywhere you look, folks are smiling—locals tossing out friendly “sawasdee!”s like it’s a small-town hockey rink greeting. The sunset hit and boom, the whole sky went maple-syrup gold. Absolute beauty, bud. Then night rolled in, beach bars lit up, and the tunes kicked harder than a double-double caffeine hit. Kata Beach isn’t just a vacation—it’s a full-on beachin’ beauty, the kind of spot that makes you say, “yeah, I could hang my flip-flops here permanently, no problem, eh?”

Kata Beach is beautiful and relaxing clean sand but not super, clear water, and a really chill atmosphere. Great for swimming, sunbathing, or just enjoying the view. Plenty of food and drink spots nearby too. Perfect place to unwind!

We visited Kata Beach and really enjoyed it. The water was clean and nice for swimming. Sunbeds were available for rent at 200 THB. Overall, a pleasant beach experience.

Really disappointing you can't leave one Chang in the tap any more during happy hour. Been coming 6 weeks and was never a problem. Great decision 🤣

Amazing location just off the beach with great food, drinks and surfing lessons. We stayed here for a while and ordered one of the huge pizzas and a Chang tower. It had a great atmosphere and the staff were lovely.

Amazing lasagna! Beautiful decoration. Got a 1 for 1 beer promotion, however they serve it immediately, it doesn't stay cold even with the ice bucket so I'd recommend going with a friend 😆

Unprofessional and Unfair Experience – Very Disappointed Our group of 8 arrived at the surf house at 11:15, ready to go. We politely asked if we could start our session at 11:30, but the staff told us it was only possible to begin on the hour. So we waited until 12:00, assuming that was our only option. When we finally started at 12:00, it was just the 8 of us – which was fine – but between 12:15 and 12:25, the staff allowed *another* 8 people into the session. That meant we had to share the wave with double the amount of people for the majority of our paid hour, drastically cutting down on our time and experience. To make matters worse, only *after* we had waited 45 minutes were we told that it *is* possible to book 30-minute sessions. That information would have made a huge difference if we had known it earlier, but by then it was already too late. Overall, this felt poorly managed and unfair. The lack of clear communication and inconsistent policies negatively impacted our experience. If you're paying for a specific time slot, you expect it to be organized and respected. Sadly, this was not the case. I hope management seriously reviews how they handle scheduling and customer service – because no one wants to feel misled or shortchanged, especially in a group. --- Would you like a shorter version for posting as a public review (e.g. Google Reviews or TripAdvisor)?

Disappointing Experience at Surf House Kata – Not Tourist Friendly Anymore I rode my motorcycle to the Kata area of Phuket — a popular tourist spot I’ve visited many times over the years. I decided to stop at Surf House, a place I’ve been to multiple times and always enjoyed. I arrived, ordered a beer, and asked about the happy hour. The menu clearly stated a discount applies when ordering two beers, which I confirmed with the barman. He asked if I wanted both beers immediately — I said no, and ordered the second one about 10 minutes later from another staff member. I placed the second order in Thai — a language I’m confident enough in for something simple like ordering a drink. The staff member just gave me a blank look. I repeated my order, and he switched to English, asking if I wanted a beer. After handing it to me, I asked (again in Thai) if he had understood my order, and he suddenly started shouting, claiming he was just confirming my order in English. He was visibly angry and shouting loudly, which was completely unnecessary and uncomfortable. When I went to pay, the happy hour discount wasn’t applied. I was told by another staff member that my second drink “wasn’t a happy hour drink” — which makes no sense based on what was shown to me earlier and the timing of my order. Overall: extremely disappointing. What used to be a fun and relaxed spot now feels hostile and unfriendly to tourists. Based on this experience, I won’t be returning — and I can’t recommend it anymore.

As an experience, elephant trekking is nice. However, in this place it seemed like the animals were not treated well. I would suggest to you all to prefer an ethical elephant sanctuary instead.

Animal exploitation disguised as tourism This is not nature, it’s confinement. In many cases, the training required for animals to accept human contact involves violent methods. Even places calling themselves “sanctuaries” may hide mistreatment. The safest way to protect animals is to avoid paying for any activity that uses them as entertainment.

So unethical to ride on elephants. It causes spain injuries and chronical pain to elephants because their backs are not made to carry heavy things on it. Elephants are usually kept in hunger and under violence to keep them under peoples control. So sad for animals, they deserve better. Do not support animal abuse!

I was in one of the cars that was blocked by your water truck. Plenty of room to park and fill that tank without affecting others .. but you choose to just sit in the middle of them road block is while listening to the honking and complaining.

Loved seeing the elephants but would of been better in a different setting. Didn't realise till we were there. Elephant look looked after but not a fan of the chains etc

The elephants were beautiful. We saw the reviews and assumed it would be ok but it is not. We regret going for it but we didn’t see anything wrong until we were on the elephants and saw the sharp sickle. In fact our daughter changed her mind on swimming with the elephants and we asked for refund for her and the staff showed how unhappy they are. One of the staff was very ruthless with the elephants. They use the sharp sickle to control the elephants and I saw him poke straight into the elephant’s head and caused a bleeding hole. We feel very bad and we hope to warn others not to support this establishment. Go to other elephant sanctuaries!! Do not support Kokchang.

I didn’t go in, but from outside I saw elephants kept in small enclosures and used for rides and baths with tourists. This is animal exploitation. Please support only ethical sanctuaries.

On the beach, there is a small but very spacious park, which will be interesting and useful for both adults and children, - here are wonderfully combined: sports simulators, playground with slides and swings, very convenient and comfortable gazebos with benches, - where you can relax from the heat and refresh yourself! On the territory of the park is a nice, soft lawn, a small number of tall palm trees, and it is located on one of the most popular beaches of Phuket - Kata. In the evening, after the heat subsides, a large number of Thais and foreigners go jogging and other active sports here. The clean, well-maintained park is a good place to come here in the evening after the heat has died down and spend time with your kids or friends doing some exercise! Kata beach community park is a great place for families with kids who want to enjoy outdoor activities. The outdoor exercise playground and Zumba dance classes offer a fun way to stay active and healthy. A peaceful green space right next to Kata Beach, Kata Beach Community Park is ideal for a short walk, relaxation, or enjoying sea views away from the main crowd. The park has a few benches, trees providing shade, and open areas where locals often gather in the evenings. It’s also a good spot for watching the sunset without standing directly on the sand. Clean and calm, it adds a nice local touch to the busy beachside area. Pros: Quiet and relaxing. Shady seating areas. Nice sunset view. Cons: Limited facilities. Small in size. Can get a bit crowded during evenings.

This is a beautiful beach but limited places to swim. Most of the beach is taken up by private hotels and exclusive restaurants. There is a playground, public shower, public restrooms, a sand bocce ball and life-sized chess board and beautifully kept grounds. We didn't stay and I didn't take photos.

Yummy banana and Nutella roti that was crispy and generous in fillings (tho slightly on the higher side in terms of price) But overall - felt like a tourist trap having to haggle for prices of clothings. Would prefer Chillva where prices of items are clearly stated instead of having to haggle.

We had some good foods at the Kata Night Market. Highly recommend the following vendors: Crispy Prawns, Coconut Ice Cream, Mr. Coconut Station. We had a bad experience with the Seafood Lovers. The price for the lobster was $2,000 Bahts for 1kg. We picked one, asked them to weight it. They said that they don’t weigh. They charge per lobster. The price for crabs was 4 for $500 bahts. They pick different sizes, mostly very small ones. Customers can’t pick. The cashier was the rude. Don’t waste your time at the Seafood Lovers.

By far the BEST night market in Phuket area! The food stalls are very clean with high standards, especially comparing to any other market in Phuket I got to visit. We tried quite a few options and everything was so delicious, while the prices were very low considering the quality of the food, so 10/10 value for money! I really recommend the gyoza stall where they not only fry them by order, but they actually fold them by hand right in front of you! Another hit was obviously the banana roti stand - warm and delicious, just melts in your mouth. Another one on the sweet side was the mango sticky rice stall, where you can choose the flavors of the rice out of 4 options - original white rice, blue butterfly pea flower rice, green pandan rice or red dragon fruit rice. Lastly, make sure to not skip the coconut ice cream stall! They carve the entire inside of coconut and add its flesh to vanilla ice cream, mix everything together and then return it to the coconut and use it as a bowl. You can then add your own toppings, unlimited! Literally there wasn't a single dish we tried and got disappointed, also when comparing to "real" Thai restaurants, which says a lot! If you're in Phuket area, make sure to visit this amazing market!!

The portions are good, and most stalls keep everything clean and fresh. There are also stalls selling clothes, souvenirs, bags, handmade crafts, and small accessories. It’s not too big, so you can explore the entire market in 30–45 minutes without feeling rushed. The vendors are warm and not pushy, which makes the experience more enjoyable. Perfect place to grab dinner, try local dishes, and pick up small gifts. A must-visit if you’re staying in Kata or nearby!

We went there after a long day. We walked around the market. There are plenty of food stalls and kiosks. It started raining heavily when we were eating so we had to take cover under under the shades. The prices here are relatively cheap and you can find a big variety of stuff

The food stall variety here is great. They are very clean with high standards, especially comparing to any other markets in Phuket. We tried quite a few options; steamed fish, gyoza, vegetables, noodles and mango sticky rice and everything was delicious. Prices were amazing, especially considering the quality of the food. 100% recommend.

My wife and I took this tour on a Monday morning a few hours before our flight home and had a wonderful time. Our tour guide was very animated and obviously loved his job! Great tour through history all the way to current time. Definitely recommend this tour for any whiskey aficionados or anyone with just a taste for Jameson.

I paid about $26 for the Jameson Distillery tour and it was worth every penny. They start with a really cool 3D projector story about the history and how Jameson is made, then you move into a tasting room where you try four different Jamesons and learn how to properly smell and taste whiskey. It truly feels like a world-class experience. The premium ones were noticeably smoother (whiskey by itself definitely grows hair on your chest 😂), but it was fun, informative, and delicious. After the tasting, you get a drink included — they already have a bar set up with several cocktail options, and if you want another drink afterward you can buy more. The tour guide was incredible — funny, knowledgeable, and made it feel like he actually believed every part of the history. It was so good I found myself thinking, “Do y’all hire? I could work here too.” The staff overall was extremely friendly and helpful. They’ll even hold your bags if you’re coming straight from the airport like I was. There’s merchandise at the end if you want to shop, and the whole experience is just a lot of fun from start to finish. I would 100% come back and I’d tell anyone visiting Dublin to add this to their trip.

Exactly everything you'd expect from a distillery tour. Great tour guide, samples of the whisky, and the best ambiance. All the employees were stellar and very nice to chat with. You can also purchase exclusive bottles you can't get anywhere else in the world.

This is one of the best distillery tour I’ve ever done! I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Dublin. Our tour guide was really informative and had a great demote of knowledge about the history of Jameson’s. I’m not usually a Whiskey drinker but after trying a Jamesons, Ginger Ale and Lime in the bar I am converted.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Jamison Distillery. I went with my husband and my daughter. It was very informative and quite interesting. There were several experiences during the tour. We tasted whiskeys that we hadn't tried before. Our new favorite one is Black Barrel. We've bought a bottle now that we're back home and have shared it with a neighbor. He is now a fan! I recommend going on this tour. It's fun, educational, and it even has a cute little shop inside.

Not the most welcoming gym and they don’t care about beginners. Just go to Naka Muay Thai up the road(just get a grab will cost you nothing). Over there you’ll feel more welcomed and it’s a different level of coaches. More professional and tourist friendly.

A nice, small local muay thai gym in the heart of Kata Beach. Personal session is 1 hour, it costs 600 THB and includes warm up, pads, heavy bag, abs and recovery at the end. They give you hand wraps and gloves there for free. I was there at 08:00 in the morning and I was alone with the coach. Not a bad experience, to be honest. I also asked and bought the gym’s t-shirt to support the gym.

I'm from Russia. I went to a personal training session on 11.11.2025. It was very interesting to train in a real Muay Thai gym and in such a climate. I really enjoyed it, thanks to the coach.

Old school facility with authentic Muay Thai. I've trained in fair few places in Thailand - whilst Chang Gym is not fancy or with the newest equipment, Fasai and team are phenomenal. The quality of the sessions (1:1 and class) is top notch - the trainers are particular with technique and push you to get the best session possible. Special mention to Um for improving my elbows and knees🙏🏼 Can't wait to the next time I'm there!
