Remote Temple in midst of the jungle, long pathways leading to different buildings, some timber others stone. Spiritual place with lots local widlife around
Following the GPS directions was very easy, and once I arrived, I was impressed by how spacious the temple grounds were. Since it is located in a forested area, you’ll often see deer and peacocks wandering freely around, which makes the atmosphere feel lively and close to nature. The temple itself is beautifully designed with detailed architecture, and the facilities are well maintained, including very clean restrooms. One of the highlights I highly recommend is the large wooden pavilion, built from timber sourced from under the Lam Pao Dam. It has a truly majestic and sacred feel, with intricate craftsmanship that shows great dedication and artistry. Another remarkable feature is the sandstone carvings that decorate the outer structures. While it can get hot outside under the sun, once you walk into the main temple grounds and the wooden pavilion area, the air feels cooler, shaded, and peaceful. The entire area is well-kept, clean, and perfect for walking around and taking photos. There is also a cave with a reclining Buddha statue, which is said to be from the same historical period as the construction of Wat Phra That Phanom, making it both culturally and historically significant. Overall, this temple is a stunning place to visit. It combines natural beauty, impressive architecture, and sacred history. Highly recommended for sightseeing, photography, or simply enjoying a calm and refreshing atmosphere. 🙏✨
A very peaceful and beautiful Buddhism temple in Kalasin province. The temple is on the way to go home and we visit when we passed by. I like the temple a lot, tons of trees, peaceful atmosphere, very grace pagoda. Ancient carved Reclining Buddha and other wild animal, deer and peacock.
Beautiful wat, very clean, recommended visit sure
This temple is a must see if in KALISIN you must make the trip. We drove to the Main entrance and the gate was closed so we turned around and headed home. Stopping just ahead to get a drink before going back my wife asked why the temple was closed and found out that the gate is not locked just open and shut it once we where in there are wild animals there they want to keep them off the road. Wonderful news see my photos words can not do this place justice.
The recommended place for those who are ancient temple lover.
One of the most amazing temples I've been to!!! This place is a must-visit if you are in Kalasin. Aside from its, serene atmosphere, you can strongly feel the power of Buddhist's faith through its picturesque architecture. Make sure to visit both sides of the temple. The inner side, where the original 2500-year-old lying Buddha is, has a large variety of Buddhist amulets. Plus, this inner side is filled with peacocks! I've never seen so many peacocks in an outdoor space like this. Definitely remarkable.
Beautiful temple. The size is beyond belief. Amazing to see
