Very quiet yet very beautify. We stopped here when leaving Yaminashi. It’s a must see. Only recommendation is out the address for the parking lot out front or Google Maps will take you on very scary back roads that were too small for our car.

Surprisingly beautiful temple with excellent grounds. 300¥ gets you in the main complex for a walking loop in the old structure and surrounding gardens, which is well worth it. The abundance of maple trees makes me think that this would be a prime spot to see fall colors over the back garden pond, so given the opportunity, I would recommend a visit.

You can exit the cave (as I did after the whites, to get some food in the cafe) then return. Wines are available for purchase and there's a good range of prices. The grounds are very pleasant and there are great views across to the mountains.

I visited the garden on the 11th October which was a warm and sunny day. To be honest I initially didn’t have high expectations as the garden looked to be quite small on googlemaps, however I absolutely loved what they’ve packed into it ! The garden looked stunning and I highly recommend it. If I’m ever back in the area I will definitely visit again. They had a very colourful display of cosmos, kochia, roses, various herbs, and many other flowers. There is a beautiful pond filled with Koi, plus lots of paths throughout the garden to get different views. They’ve got signs in many places telling you the best places to take a photo, and they really do help ! At this time of year they also had a Halloween display set up at the entrance. I saw a wide age range of people there, many looked to be locals (people with young kids) so it’s presumably popular. That said, the garden didn’t at any point feel too busy, which has sometimes spoiled the experience when I’ve visited other gardens. There is a small cafe selling kakigori, ice cream etc - you buy a ticket from a machine, however staff are more than willing to help you. There is a small plant shop, a wine shop, and a larger shop selling various herb and other related items. You can try various things there and I ended up buying some peach tea after having been given a sample. Cold peach tea was honestly perfect on such a hot day ! Thanks also to the staff in the larger shop who when I explained I needed a taxi to get to the train station were more than happy to order one for me. Extremely helpful and perfect customer service ! Key points Cost - it’s free to enter ! How to get there - I assume driving is probably the easiest, however as I don’t drive, I walked from Katsunuma Budou no Oka where I’d had lunch. I wouldn’t recommend that route though as there is not a lot of room in places between cars and pedestrians. In addition it is a fair distance to walk. There is an infrequent bus you can use which I believe stops not too far from the garden (ask at a tourist information office for details and a timetable) or simply get a taxi from Yamanashishi station or Katsunumabudakyo station.

It is a nice place to visit as the area is big with a lot of Herb around the garden. Inside this Herd garden, there are a souvenir, beauty product and an ice-cream counter sell lavender ice-cream.

Second best winery in Kofu area after Sakaori. Cherry and blueberry wines were amazing. Very innovative and very tasty. Staff was nice and attentive. It’s just a pity that factory was closed when we visited so no excursion was possible.

Visited this winery with friends as our first stop on our trip. The staff was very friendly and helpful and gave a great lunch recommendation. We chose the recommended tasting which was around 2,000 yen each and included 3 wines (2 whites & a red). The wines were not incredibly impressive but the winery itself had a lovely patio and garden that i'm sure is beautiful in the warmer months. I know this winery has a long established history in the area but we did not learn much about it through the staff or any handouts so cannot speak to that.

The parking lot is about 100yds down the road; don't park in the school lot.

Visited this winery with friends as our first stop on our trip. The staff was very friendly and helpful and gave a great lunch recommendation. We chose the recommended tasting which was around 2,000 yen each and included 3 wines (2 whites & a red). The wines were not incredibly impressive but the winery itself had a lovely patio and garden that i'm sure is beautiful in the warmer months. I know this winery has a long established history in the area but we did not learn much about it through the staff or any handouts so cannot speak to that.

The parking lot is about 100yds down the road; don't park in the school lot.

This is my favorite Japanese wine right now. I tried both their Koshu and Chardonnay and both were very nice. I tried the Koshu with Japanese Kaiseki meals in Kyoto and the Chardonnay with French food in Tokyo this month. I became a fan of Grace Wine. Next time I’m in Japan, I’d like to visit the winery if possible.

Wine tasting is good and handsome staff can speak English! We tried Koshu set and Cuvée Misawa Blanc. Koshu Hishiyama Vineyard 2022 is the best one and bought 1 bottle home. Cuvée Misawa Blanc is a bit expensive but the wine passed the best time… no fruits shown on nose and palate. Overall very enjoyable!

Tucked on a very small street. The winery is a hidden gem. They are very English friendly. They have a dispenser and the tasting is self led but they walk you through the taste. Also, it’s the first ever Japanese wine that was imported into the EU. The story it lovely and the people are very nice.

We had a great time during our visit to Katdunuma Winery. The staff is very friendly, helpful and knew what they were talking about. We also had the honor to meet the owner of the winery and he proudly presented his wines. They have a nice selection of quality wines that you can taste and buy. The winery had a beautiful terrace next tot the vineyards and even a rooftop terrace. I would really recommend anyone to stop here if you are in the area!

Beautiful winery. We went to another winery in Kochu and this winery tasted a lot better to us. I found a really nice red wine with fragrant barrel flavor (see photo). You need to purchase a wine tasting card then choose whatever wine to taste from the machine. You can taste approximately 10 wines with that card, and it can be top up.

This winery is great to get to try a lot of different wines for only 1500 yen. After buying a prepaid card, you can relax and take your time as you taste your way through each wine. The outdoor patio is very scenic and pairs great with wine. A very relaxing and easy experience. Bottle prices range from 1800-5500 yen.
