Haven't been to a sonic in many years. I wonder where all the ordering stalls went? Great place for mobile orders. Really quick with my slush Thanks y'all!
Got into El Paso late and took a ride up the scenic drive. Amazing voew of the El Paso/juarez area
Great views if you look out across the city. Disgusting view if you look down the hill at all the trash and empty beer bottles thrown from this pull off. Sad that the people who live here don’t care enough to take care of this place.
Senic View Overlook in El Paso, TX Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Senic View Overlook in El Paso, TX, is a stunning spot that offers breathtaking views of both the city of El Paso and Juarez, Mexico. The overlook is steeped in history, having been built back in 1920, and remains a popular destination for both locals and visitors. Top 3 Lesser-Known Facts: 1. Historical Significance: Sonic View Overlook was originally constructed as part of a larger project to create scenic routes and public spaces in El Paso. It was intended to be a place where people could enjoy the natural beauty of the area while also appreciating the engineering feats of the time. 2. Architectural Style: The overlook features early 20th-century design elements, blending seamlessly with the natural landscape. Its construction used locally sourced materials, making it a unique example of regional architecture from that era. 3. Cultural Landmark: During the 1920s and 1930s, Sonic View Overlook was a popular spot for community gatherings and events. It has witnessed countless sunsets and has been a silent observer of the growth and changes in the cities it overlooks. Interesting Story: One intriguing story about Sonic View Overlook involves a local legend from the 1930s. It is said that a young couple, deeply in love, would meet at the overlook every week to watch the sunset together. Despite the hardships of the Great Depression, their love blossomed, and they eventually got married right at the spot where they had shared so many sunsets. Their story became well-known in the community, symbolising hope and enduring love during difficult times. One of the Plaques also mentioned that in the 1920 there was a belief that Explosions or dynamite would cause rain. During a drought the city of El Paso requested for this testing to be tested here but no luck in bringing needed rain. Appeal for Preservation: While Sonic View Overlook is undeniably beautiful, it is disheartening to see that not everyone respects this historic site. Littering is a significant problem, with trash often being thrown over the edge despite the availability of trash cans. It is crucial for visitors to take responsibility for preserving this area by properly disposing of their waste and respecting the environment. Keeping Sonic View Overlook clean will ensure that future generations can continue to enjoy its beauty and historical significance. In summary, Sonic View Overlook is a remarkable place with stunning views and rich history. It deserves to be treated with care and respect to maintain its charm and significance for years to come.
Beautiful sight, great place to chill and relax
Beautiful views. You can see Mexico on the other side. Its was something new for us we were excited. We did need to go all the way to the top. It was cold and windy. If you look at the pictures where you see the X in red. Thats a placita in Mexico.
Beautiful scenery . ❤️EP

The Zoo is always a fun place to visit and enjoy the company of wonderful animals, cool down in the splash pad, take a ride on the carousel 🎠 ride, run around the playground and indulge in a tasty treat. Love making memories with my family! 🦒 🦓 🐅 🐦
It's a zoo, surprise, honestly it's a decent zoo I've been to better also to worse. You can never predict if the animals are going to be active or not. I was sad to hear about the loss of a giraffe I was told there were still 3 there but we never saw them. When we went to the zoo had a few sections down for maintenance and repair but it didn't dampen the experience much. I liked how people in the park were passing along info to fellow guests about closures and better spots to see an animal very friendly. Bonus info You can purchase a ticket to get a face-to-face with a few of the animals for $40.00. We opted for the penguins encounter and it was great! They gave us instructions on how and where we could pet the penguins amazing experience I would highly recommend it if you want to do something a little more memorable. The staff was friendly and helpful.
I really want to support our local zoo, but every time I visit, I leave disappointed. Too many of the animal enclosures are consistently closed, which takes away from the overall experience — especially when you’ve paid full admission. I find myself trying to justify bringing the family, only to remember why it ends up feeling like a waste of time and money. A zoo should be more than just a walk through pathways. If most of the animal exhibits are inaccessible or hidden, it makes more sense to just visit a local park. For the price, guests deserve to see what the zoo promotes — not empty habitats. At this point, I’d rather make the 2-hour trip to the Albuquerque Zoo, where the experience is consistently more complete and worth the drive. El Paso Zoo has potential, but it really needs to step up — either improve accessibility to exhibits or adjust pricing to reflect what’s actually available.
The wife and I took our now six year old autistic son and his friend with us here last month to do a little something to do with different wildlife for his birthday week . We were really impressed with our trip and how the boys enjoyed their time here. The people are absolutely awesome and the atmosphere was great.
Visited the zoo for Halloween with my daughter, bought the tickets previously online. I was scared it would be too packed but found parking quick and got in the zoo in no time, every year the zoo gets better, ive been attending boo at the zoo for several years now and it never disappoints my daughter loves it every time. Thank you!
The setup is great the only thing was that the lion seals windows for out of water viewing were incredibly dirty, but all else the Zoo is a nice setup.
I liked this experience because the concert was one hour, and the pieces were short, a few minutes long. Often when I go to the symphony, it's a two or three hour event with the music pieces lasting a long time. It was good for my hyperactive self. Parking was easy at the zoo. It was casual experience, but elegant. This is my first time at such a event. #candlelight
My daughter's and I always have a great time. It's beautiful and peaceful with plenty of activities and educational sessions as well

Great place in El Paso Texas... You will love this experience! Once you are taken up the mountain, you have the option of staying and doing some sightseeing...or if you are up to it!... an awesome hike! They have access to a trail way above the desert sky... It's beautiful up here. We went early since it takes about 10-15 mins to load everyone in and take them up in groups of 6-8 depending. You could have a small picnic since the wind up there does not really allow for a full picnic. The trip up is pretty awesome! My daughter was a little scared but once we got up there, she absolutely loved it! Oh and take some money, they have a gift shop at the top. I can't believe that I grew up in El Paso and I never visited this park before. Parking is free but limited. Restrooms are clean. You do have the option to just hike for the day and I believe that it's free. You can see all of El Paso, parts of New Mexico and Juarez!
First time doing anything aerial and my husband and I loved it. The park rangers were very informative and knowledge. Great view of the mountain ranges and cities. On the website it suggested that you call before arriving due to weather conditions, please call ahead. A must do if you're in the area.
This is such a fun activity for a weekend adventure. I've been on it twice and both times I was just as impressed with the mechanics of the tramway and enthralled with the views at the top. The ascent is around 900ft with the gondola moving at a speed of, I believe, 9mph so it's nothing extreme. This is definitely a must if you have visitors from out of town. Just, overall, a lot of fun.
Great and cheap way to get to see all of El Paso and beyond. 360° view at the top with maps that point out all the different landmarks. We went on a Saturday evening and no one was there, but we were told it does get insanely crowded when deployments are about to head out from Fort Bliss and families are visiting.
Beautiful! I live in KC and every time I go to El Paso, this place was always closed! It was either due to rain or snow. However, this was a wonderful experience going up the mountain on the tram. The Park Ranger was very informative and made it a pleasant ride. We went on a sunny winter day and it was way colder up on the mountain. There’s hiking trails, awesome scenic views overlooking all of El Paso and Juarez, Mx. Must see if you’re in El Paso!
The line can be a little but it's worth the wait. Smooth ride on the tram. Beautiful mountain scenery. Very nice view of El Paso, Ciudad Juarez (Mexico), and New Mexico. Will visit again next time I'm in El Paso.
A must for native El Pasoans or those new to the area. Gives great views of nearly the entire city, Mexico, and New Mexico without the need for hiking (unless you want to). There's plenty of space on the viewing platform; I never had to fight for viewing space. Unfortunately, the gondolas lack any kind of air conditioning, so expect the four-minute ride to be stuffy. There's no running water at the top either (but there is a bathroom) so bring plenty of bottled water unless you want to purchase some at the gift shop.
Hands down an El Paso must. Very special views from this place. It's only open on weekends and I recommend sunrise or sunset to beat the crowds. It's much colder at the top so bring a jacket!

Family fun outside, enjoying nature, a hike (50 minutes climb/hike to Aztec cavws) only 5bux to park. We'll go again soon! Sooo pretty!
We had a memorable time camping in the Franklin Mountains State Park this weekend. The scenery is unmatched if you're looking to reconnect with nature, and even though there are other campers nearby, it still feels pretty isolated compared to other places we have camped, which is awesome. The trails are never-ending and it is such a peaceful overall camping experience. Watch for rattlesnakes, and enjoy other wildlife sightings as well. There are trails for all levels of hiking experience. Just make sure to bring plenty of water. We chose to hike early morning and early evening to avoid the scorching sun and it made all the difference in the world. We camped with our little Casita, a generator, and our two dogs though there were plenty of people roughing it in tents around us. The campsites are pretty nomadic (no hookups, no street lights at night, etc) but there is an outhouse for doing your business. If you are looking for a phenomenal camping experience that truly puts you in the center of nature's majesty, this is the place you have been searching for. If you're looking to be lined up beside other campers in neat little rows, have no privacy, but have slightly more amenities, this is not it. The only suggestion I would notation for the park to improve upon is the gate for after hours coming/going. We were given a code for gate access if we needed to go anywhere outside of the parks normal operating hours of 8-5. The code is for an actual padlock and you have to manually swing open the gate, drive through, and then get out and close it behind you. While this is a pretty straightforward process and we are not lazy individuals, the issue arose when we were bombarded by other patrons trying to gain access to the park at 6:30 AM on a Saturday morning. People showing us receipts where they had paid for access online, people trying to follow our vehicle through the gate, etc. This put us in a very uncomfortable position since we are not supposed to let anyone in. With an automatic gate that requires keypad code entry and operates on a timer to only let 1 vehicle through at a time, this issue could be remedied. The office/facilities seem new/updated so my only suggestion for improvement would be to update the gate/ how campers and patrons are able to enter the park. Overall, best camping experience we have ever had, even with the gate issues.
So we had some family in town recently who had never seen the Franklin Mountains State Park. We took everyone on a weekend adventure trip here. Everyone loved it even the children! Great place for a family outing and to get away from technology and things like that for those who are connected with technology.
This park is a great hiking destination. The perfect place to go and clear your head. It has the most breathtaking, relaxing views and the hike paths are clearly marked and clean. Well worth the trip and the 5 bux to get in!
We had so much fun. When you get in there, you have to stop at the main building. They were super nice, they gave us a map, gave us directions, and answered questions we had. We set up a National Parks account. We had to use the bathrooms there, they were so clean, I was impressed. We took our 3 year old on the trail to the Aztec Caves, a little less than 2 miles. So beautiful. The trail gets a little narrow and steep. Very steep at the cave entrance. And there's loose rocks, so definitely wear shoes that have grip on the bottom. But my three year old completed the hike. It was awesome, so beautiful. We will be back.
Pretty place to connect with the nature. I love it, it's a huge place with different areas, if you go to the park offices the place it's more " kid friendly" more easy for newbies on hike like us Also have picnic areas, to rest and eat, restroom, you must have bring your own food and water. Great experience just for $5 dollars per person older than 12
Went hiking and had alot of fun trekking up jusy one of the trails (Aztec Caves Trail) at the Franklin Mountains State Park near El Paso, TX. Good trail for most, wear good shoes, and have fun!
Beautiful park. Definitely take the trail to the Aztec Caves. It's challenging but I saw kids make it up to the caves. Be sure to go around to the left of the first cave to see the second one. There may be more but I was hot, tired and a little more than sunburned after spending the previous day at Hueco Tanks. Bring a lot of water and sunscreen if you go in the summer.

I was originally upset with my experience of the Blue October concert here but it was beautifully turned around by amazing staff. My mom and I didnt pick our seating (the tickets were a gift) and they were very unfortunate placing for me as I can not stand long due to a medical condition and everyone in attendance wanted to stand...I have 0 view of the stage from my seat and decided to start leaving as I was upset but a staff member was kind enough to find us seats on the balcony that greatly improved my experience! The stairs are hard for me but were worth it, I believe the staff member was a manager and I didn't catch his name but I say THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR KINDNESS! I wish the place was more handicap friendly but regardless I appreciate the help and hope to come here for future events as I do enjoy plays/musicals as well!
A beautiful theater, for sure! Sitting is tight and a lot of stair climbing. Seniors will struggle here. Especially if your seats are on the balcony or heading to the restrooms. No elevator that I saw. Cost of drinks, astronomical! A picture I included, has the cost. For the ladies . Make sure you take a small clear bag. Otherwise, you can't take your purse in. The Temptations did not fail.
One of the best-preserved silent film theaters in the world. The history, design, craftsmanship, and overall restoration were amazing to learn about. We had a guided tour led by the El Paso Community Foundation and got to see every part of this amazing gem. We were even treated to an amazing pipe organ performance by two gentlemen who were excellent musicians. If you ever have a chance to watch a film here or attend an event, don't miss the opportunity.
What to expect: parking lot $15 in a multi layer lot. Bags will be searched and have to be in a see through material so will save you the time from returning them to your car. Inside was surprising antique look and huge audience area. Bathrooms can be a line during recess but the kind staff are there to guide you to another hidden bathroom by the elevator. Love it and I am glad I went.
Love the architecture and the design! Supper cool place to catch a musical.
Good shows with helpful staff. Very enjoyable atmosphere with clean facilities. Great customer service. Thank you!
The plaza was refurbished in 2017, and they did a great job. It's beautifully done. The men's bathroom space could be improved a little. I went to see the 50th anniversary of Kansas. If you're a fan of their music, then it's worthwhile. The sound quality was very good. It's not a huge venue, but it seemed to have ample space.
The ambience is fine, the seating is not. I think the last time I was in the theater was for Glory Road when Don Hankins passed away. It's a beautiful theater, but not designed for 21st century humans.

It's a neat place for climbing, hiking, and sight seeing. There is a lot to discover in this place and the people working there are nice. It's even better when you have a guide like Julian, who is clearly very knowledgeable of the park and will guide you to some of the best places that Hueco Tanks has to offer. I can't emphasize how brilliant Julian was as a guide. He's full of cool facts about the place and knows how to get people all over the place safely. Anyone visiting this place needs to understand that they need to be at least a little bit fit physically because some places are challenging to get to, but they are worth it.
This is a unique park that has a limit to the number of people who can enter daily. It’s known for its petroglyphs and Hueco tanks, which translate to hollows that hold water, some of which can be seen easily and others that are only accessible by Ranger guided tours. We stopped by on the way to New Mexico and there was no one available for tours at the time. It’s really hot during the summer and therefore not very crowded. You’ll need to plan ahead in cooler weather. They don’t take online reservations - you have to call in.
Hueco Tanks has been on my elderly father-in-law's bucket list since reading about the tanks in his Western novels. We had permits for Sunday, but it was supposed to rain, so we decided to try Saturday morning. The two young ladies at the check in were absolutely precious and made sure he got his wish. The gentleman in the video area was very patient and explained the trails carefully so we would know what we should attempt and what we shouldn't. He also arranged for Carlos to show us around. Carlos was extremely knowledgeable and incredibly patient. The area is beautiful and definitely fulfilled a wish for my father-in -law. The people who work there are just as beautiful and special as is the state park.
Great way to spend a day! Wear good hiking shoes and enjoy some beautiful scenery! My only complaint is that our peaceful adventure was constantly interrupted by gun fire from a nearby shooting range.
Great park. Limited for 3 night only. Only 20 spots.but don't go if you are not planning to visit the historical site.which need permit. And book a tour.if to, there no reason to come her.
This was one of the best state park experiences we’ve ever had! We did the Pictograph guided hike #1 and it was fabulous. Park Ranger Nicole did an outstanding job and her knowledge of the flora and fauna, park and pictograph history made it a meaningful experience. Highly recommend! This park has limited access so reserve early.
Went on a guided tour with a friend! The ranger was great! She didn’t pressure anyone to do any activity that they were not comfortable doing. We even saw a group of javelinas in the park before our tour started. Be sure to stop at the headquarters office to pay when entering the park, and stop in to let them know when you leave the park. I don’t recommend hiking here when it is too hot outside.
I recently visited for some day hiking, and tried exploration of a true oasis in the rough deserts of West Texas... this was nothing less than spectacular. This was my first trip to Hueco Tanks, this is part of the Ysleta Del Sur Pueblo ancestral lands, and as a descendant of the Ysleta/Tigua I truly appreciate the care taken of this land, and the respect shown to the archeological significance of this site. A wonderful place to visit, I look forward to returning and taking a guided tour. Thank you to the caretakers of this land.

A very nice museum. They do not have much of the modern equipment or information but I guess because it’s a museum it’s normally more about history. For that, they do a great job of discussing the historical aspects of the BP and the displays include an airplane and helicopter as well as a number of other vehicles. They have seized “vehicles” and weapons on display as well as two very moving memorial rooms. The agents of the BP have been through many good and many rough years of service and are to be honored and appreciated for their commitment and contributions to protecting our great Nation. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Ask questions and find out! Definitely worth a visit.
I am so glad we took the time to visit the National Border Patrol Museum in El Paso. It's a truly unique and educational experience, providing a deep dive into the history of the U.S. Border Patrol, from its founding in 1924 to its modern-day operations. As the only museum of its kind in the United States, it offers a fascinating and informative look at the evolution of their duties, technology, and vehicles. The exhibits are incredibly well-done, featuring a wide variety of historical artifacts, including decommissioned aircraft, vehicles used for smuggling, and uniforms. I was particularly moved by the memorial to the officers who have died in the line of duty, which gave me a new respect for the dangers and sacrifices faced by Border Patrol agents every day. It's a fantastic, free attraction that is well worth a few hours of your time. I came away with a much greater understanding of the vital and dangerous job that the Border Patrol performs. It's a must-see for anyone interested in American history."
Despite the recent turmoil surrounding ICE, border patrol agents enforce the law of the USA. The individuals have made countless sacrifices to protect our borders, including the ultimate sacrifice. All of us are grateful of their service! A must-visit if you are in the area.
How many years have we lived here and not stopped in? Friendly staff and all laid out in an easy to navigate museum. The history and photos are pretty amazing. The ingenuity of some items here is awesome. Very kid friendly, the vehicles were of particular interest to the younger ones with me.
Free to the public! Donations encouraged. No Lines, great place to visit with family, by yourself or in small groups. Staff was super friendly the gift shop has tons of merchandise.
If you haven’t been yet I highly encourage it. I was a local photographer for the past 4 years and one of my favorite locations have been the museums location. It’s beautiful, but the museum itself is very cool. I always encourage my clients to go, my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it when we went. So glad we had the time before our next move!!
Decent museum. Free entry, no waiting. Air conditioned. In a classic boring government building. Lots of artifacts from attempted illegal crossings. Some interesting vehicles and other items on display.
Another accidental find for us. It is a great place. I enjoyed it much more than I was expecting too and it's free.

El Paso Museum of Art is a wonderful place that depicts the long history of El Paso since its inception. The artifacts kept in the exhibit are quite interesting. It has various diverse elements. The building architecture and surrounding is also very good. The museum is very well maintained and free to visit for the public. It has a small kids' play zone. Need to plan an hour or two to properly explore the museum. The location is easily identifiable and has other relative museums of the city that are close by as well
Very nice building and very clean. It was easy to get to, only a 10 minute walk from our hotel and it was free admission. The museum itself had some interesting exhibits, but overall I found it boring. It didn’t take long to walk through the whole thing. I felt it wasn’t as captivating as other art museums I’ve been to. But it is worth a visit if you are in the area.
Loved this free entry museum!! We took our time looking at every piece and it was better than museums we’ve paid for! The Selena features were unexpectedly informative and added an extra personal touch connecting it to such an icon who’s performed in El Paso. Would definitely come again.
BEST place to appreciate art. My son attended the art camps there, and now he is an author of his own comic book. #DinoDudes
This is a good way to burn some time downtown El Paso. This is not a typical Museum, the art displayed on the walls is painted by what I assumed to be local people or artists. There are different types of art, from paintings to handmade objects. It was pretty neat to see. There is no complaining when the entry is free. The place is well-maintained and very clean. Overall, it was a great stop while you are downtown. Conveniently placed across the parking garage downtown!!
Unique, diverse art experience that we really enjoyed!
Superb free to visit museum with galleries on two floors. There are exhibits which include the work of young local artists and iconic religious art. However, the two most powerful collections are based on gender motivated violence and of art based on experiences connected to the nearby border, which are both excellent.
Soooo glad we squeezed in a visit after our meetings while we were in El Paso! An amazing little jewel of a museum with a truly varied and moving collection. A must-see! Will visit again my next trip to the area😀

I had the privilege of visiting the Fort Bliss Museum, and I was truly impressed with the experience. The museum is a hidden gem that offers a fascinating journey into the rich history of Fort Bliss and the military. The collection of artifacts and exhibits here is remarkable. From the well-preserved uniforms and weaponry to the detailed accounts of historical events, the museum provides a comprehensive insight into the military heritage of Fort Bliss. Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply curious about the area's past, there's something for everyone to appreciate. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, offering guided tours and answering questions with enthusiasm. Their passion for the subject matter is evident, which enhanced the overall experience. The museum's layout is well-organized, making it easy to navigate through the various exhibits. It's a perfect place for both individuals and families, as it educates and entertains in equal measure. If you're in the Fort Bliss area, don't miss the opportunity to visit this museum. It's a great way to pay tribute to the brave men and women who have served and learn more about the history of this remarkable military installation. Overall, the Fort Bliss Museum is a must-visit attraction, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in military history or those wanting to gain a deeper appreciation for the sacrifices made by our armed forces.
Located on Ft Bliss, this very large building holds a number of tanks, artillery, and other vehicles used over he years by the US and other Armies. There is not a lot other than these various military vehicles in the building, in fact it is probably more than half empty space, so lots of room for growth. Still, it provides a great opportunity to get up close and personal with every major tank iteration the Army ever used. All are hands off, but each has a nice poster with the very basic information about the vehicle. Didn’t take long to wander through but enjoyable experience as an Air Force veteran from the Desert Storm era. Kids will love this too.
Visitors must get a pass at the Chaffee Gate - so tell Google to take you to the Chaffee Gate instead of the museum. I was unable to enter the museum due to a government shutdown, but the tank displays outdoors are nice
Great for kids. We went at 9:00 and had the place to ourselves. Lots of information, take your time and enjoy.
Much to see and experience for those interested in 1st Armored Division and Fort Bliss history. This museum has room to grow as there is much available space to add new displays...expect to spend an hour here.
Great museum filled with military history.
One of my favorite museums! I really enjoyed coming here. I hope it gets some upgrades and more people come here. It’s really something to look at. We shall revisit.

Incredibly powerful and moving experience. From the moment I stepped inside, I was enveloped by the gravity of history, with exhibits that are both educational and deeply emotional. The museum provided a comprehensive look at the atrocities of the Holocaust and the harrowing stories of those affected. The layout of the museum is set up through different rooms that are emotionally impactful. It is a somber experience, but one that leaves a lasting impression and inspires reflection. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to learn more about the Holocaust, its survivors, and the importance of remembrance. 5 stars without a doubt.
Enjoyed the museum, very informative. It painted a clear picture of how much pain and suffering was experienced during that time. Worth going!
Great place, great staff. Educating experience
Very educational, so sad and mad to see what people and children went through, sickening, but we were educated and would go again. Please if you get the chance GO.
Absolutely breathtaking and a must-see! When you arrive, expect to receive the kindest greeting. After signing in and getting a short description of the self guided tour, you are on your way. Stepping through the double doors, you are whisked back in time to Pre-world war II. Travel through the footsteps of the German Jewish community. Free to enter and tour, but please donate to the museum since this is mainly funded by donations.
This museum is very eye opening. You get a feeling as soon as you walk through the double doors. I liked to sit on the bench and listen to each video...it's very quiet. You have time to read. The pictures on display made my heart ache. The personal items made the experience that much more understanding. I respected some of the exhibit was placed behind a half wall for those visitors that might not be age appropriate. I would recommend this museum very much.
Wonderful experience. Very clean facilities with friendly employees. Everything is authentic so it's an incredible thing to see. It really is educational and is a perfect place to learn about the Holocaust. You can take as long or as little time as you like. They even have educational films and clips on Tvs along the way.
Wonderfully done museum with real artifacts. Well done video tour and timeliness as one walks through the holocaust from beginning to end. Includes interactive exhibits as well. The museum is free and accepts donations. They have a good book store and gift shop as well.

Another beautiful church in the region. Museum Staff are extremely friendly. The church, the old jail and the museum are a very little trip. During the year San Elizario has many events. There are many art shop in the Main Street.
Have driven this trail several times. Always different depending on the season. Always enjoy visiting the 3 missions again.
This was a very good excursion. Lots of history and the Missions are still in use.
First of all, this is really nice surroundings! I am very curious to know if this is the location for the white church that I’m using here, as my “ChurchCruisin” profile picture? Thanks a lot for the information! //God Blessed, Richard. (Ephesians 1:3)
If the door happens to be locked when you arrive, you can get the security guard who was so friendly to let you in to look around and get brochures. Historical facts and neat old artifacts to look at! The Mission is across the street diagonal from the association. It's one of three on the trail. Also stop at Lincon dairy along the route!!
Excellent Day Trip! visitelpasomissiontrail.com tap on all for all information.
Good experience to learn about this Mission trail heritage.
Driving the mission trail and visiting the sites is a step back into history.

Despite being in the middle of El Paso, this old cemetery looks like it belongs out in the desert. There are some very old graves and many show their age. Observed owls and lizards, but more importantly, got to see the final resting place of Texas' most notorious outlaw, John Wesley Hardin. His grave is protected by a cage to prevent vandalism. If you walk to the other side of the cemetery, there lies John Henry Selman Sr., the man who shot Hardin in the back of the head after a dispute between Hardin and his son, John Selman Jr.
Alot of history here, very pleasant to visit. I've been coming here for a long time. Would recommend to visit if you're in the area, they have several different day or night tours you can take.
A unique stop in El Paso. Lots of history in this cemetery with Presidents, outlaws , buffalo soldiers and giants just to name a few of the residents.
Interesting cemetery with some interesting local history. Interesting Dia de los Muertos celebration.
Unique cemetery with a lot of history behind it. Spent a lot of time here doing genealogical research, found several relatives graves here. Great-great grand parents, great grand uncle and other distant relatives from the past. Summer they have tours and events anout the people buries here, and if you dare try the paranormal tours at night. It is awesome!
Lots of rain this summer means lots of weeds which made this old cemetery look even older somehow. Lots of lizards and ground squirrels. Really neat old tombstones and gravesites. This place is huge.
I have a couple family members here who I miss very dearly. And when winter comes it’s hard to visit because of the cemetery’s hours. Most cemetery’s are 24 hours. The only great side about that place is the people resting there.
This place is really worth a visit! A lot of historical spots, plus some nice monuments to the Buffalo Soldiers and other veterans. Worth your time to check it out and walk around for an hour.

Nice place to stop by along the US-Mexico border. Nice and short exhibit inside. A quiet walk around the picnic area outside, very peaceful. Very very few people, especially compared to other tourist areas in El Paso.
Playing tourist in my hometown today. The Chamizal is a nice place to enjoy and learn about our culture. It’s offers great well maintained open space to walk around, enjoy some entertainment and view some beautiful murals along the way. Best part it’s all FREE for everyone to enjoy!😉
It was a beautiful place what we could see from the outside, but unfortunately, we drove all the way there To get our stamp in our national parks pass book and it was on Sunday! A lot of history I would’ve really enjoyed learning more about it, but you’re in the meantime I looked up a bunch and we were able to at least walk around the grounds. I WOULD RECOMMEND
Interesting and well-kept historical memorial a stone’s throw from the border and bridge to Mexico. The visitors’ center isn’t open every day so I recommend checking the hours before you go. Plenty of parking, nicely-groomed grounds, and a paved walking path with some sitting areas and shade trees.
Went here because shockingly it was raining the morning of April 1. No April fools. Most city museums are closed on Mondays so this was the only thing we found. We were surprised at how much we liked it. Very interesting history and something you never think about: what happens to an international border when a river changes course? They presented the information in such a good way that it kept the attention of my 10 and 8 year old boys. Additionally, they actually have great Tshirts in the gift shop that are very comfy if you’re like me and buy shirts at every NPS site. 😀
Well maintained park with views of the border wall and border crossings into Mexico. The Visitors Center has an informative exhibit and friendly park rangers! Great visit for people new to the area or to bring El Paso visitors.
Really wonderful little museum to complement this historic urban park. I was surprised to see such great exhibits. The ranger working, Danielle, greeted me and introduced me to the exhibits. She was incredibly friendly, helpful, and approachable. I even bought some souvenirs at the gift shop. The park itself is not very large, so it's easy to walk around and see the second international boundary marker (the one closer to the road and not on front of the museum). There were not many people here which made for a peaceful evening, but there were quite a lot of high school kids walking through when I arrived at rush hour.
Large beautiful park and monument, commemorating the peaceful resolution of the “chamizal problem”, a decades long border dispute between Mexico and the US. As part of the resolution land was set aside to memorialize the peaceful resolution and friendship between the countries. There is a park with walking trails and also a visitors center/cultural center. Inside is a small but extremely interesting museum about the conflict and the resolution. There is also an art gallery and theater for cultural performances. The park is staffed by some of the friendliest and most knowledgeable and proud park rangers I have ever encountered. As a national monument it is park of the national park service so there is a passport stamp station inside. The outside is also a great place to walk around and the grounds open early for recreation. The park and buildings are impeccably maintained. Highly recommend this monument if you are in El Paso! You will learn a lot and enjoy yourself immensely.

It's a wonderful museum with artifacts, pictures, and dioramas of prehistoric settlement of the region. They have a fantastic collection of pottery and beadwork on display. Don't miss the collection drawers of beadwork, moccasins, and stone work. Admission is free, but they accept donations to support operations. There is also a lovely desert garden with walking paths and interpretive signs. The parking lot is a little small for trailers and RVs, but you can park in the Border Patrol Museum next door and walk over using the nature trail.
This is a very interesting and well laid out museum. It’s not very big, maybe 30-45 min to wander the two large rooms, but it has just enough detail to be interesting. Great overview of area history from archeological sites in TX, NM, and AZ. Outside the building is a great botanical garden with local plants, well labeled. Free to wander around but why not make a small (or large) donation to help support such a great place? Worth a trip if you’re in or coming through El Paso.
It always very education to be at this place, it’s great to know about the rich cultural history of the area. And always great merchandise at the gift shop. The outside area has an amazing view to the mountains
Nice place, we were there for dia de los doggies. No dogs inside the museum so we can only review the grounds. (They offered to watch our dog but we declined). Grounds are very nice as are the staff and volunteers.
This was a really awesome museum. We loved all the exhibits and information. I loved the walking trail with the plants all labeled so we know what we are looking at. Highly recommend! You won't be disappointed!
Several beautifully created dioramas depicting the ancestral progression of the Aboriginal population. What I found particularly interesting was the origin of mezcal from burnt agave. Also, spare a moment and check out the Border Patrol Museum next door!
Went to the pavilion outside for ghost stories that started at 7:30 pm. The museum was closed. Had a great time learning about paranormal activities that happened in El Paso’s past. It was hosted by: Lost El Paso Paranormal Community.
Great place to visit and learn about the culture that surrounds El Paso. Outdoor scenery includes a variety of plant life that are labeled. Desert plants. Lots of historical information..

It is truly incredible to see and hear about how the Magoffin family lived through generations in this home. The staff is very knowledgeable about several aspects of the house and as well as the family’s personal lives. I had the opportunity to bring my son to a family reading event that included an activity and snacks. I found out about this on their instagram page where they often post about camps and events for kids and families to bring notice to this beautiful historical site.
A visit to the historic Magoffin Home in El Paso is a must, enhanced by the knowledgeable staff and docents. Martin, in particular, is a phenomenal storyteller, bringing the Magoffin family's "rags to riches" story to life through an interactive tour. Discover the pivotal role the Magoffin family played in El Paso's incorporation into Texas. This is a must-see attraction for both residents and visitors. My photos do not give this tour the justice it deserves.
We requested permission to take photos here for my son’s wedding, even though we did not have a professional photographer. The staff kindly allowed us to do so with just a $25 donation. They were incredibly welcoming and attentive throughout our visit, making us feel comfortable and cared for. We were given access to the outside of the building as well as the garden, which provided beautiful backdrops. The photos turned out wonderfully!
We had an unplanned visit as we were visiting White Sands and had few hours to kill before our flight. We made it just in the for the last tour and it was only me and my partner so we got to have a private tour. Our guide, Danielle, was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. You could tell how much passion and care she has for this place and El Paso in general. It really was the highlight of my time in the city!
We visited for the first time on Sat Dec 3 for the Holiday Open House and loved it. The home is a beautiful example of adobe architecture. The original family furnishings make it so easy to imagine life during the time period. Mostly we loved the engaging conversations we had with the staff and volunteers about the history of El Paso and the history of the home and family.
Really enjoyed seeing an example of a house from the time periods during settlement of the area. A lot different than houses from my area and it was great to see how it has stood the test of time. The walking trail to get there isn't all that great. This is by far the best part on the self-guided Magoffin walking tour.
A rather unexpected journey you'll get !!! Was scheduling only 30 mins for a short visit, turned out to be an "El Paso History Time Machine Travel Journey". 🤓 First, you'll need to register your visiting at the Visitor Center, they will then play you an introduction video at the lobby of the Visitor Center. Then they will walk you across the street to the Magoffin House, which was built in 1875, is a combination of the local adobe style combined with Greek revival details and is an example of the Territorial style, while still well preserved.
Had a great time touring this site while cosplaying. Machelle was fantastic. Very knowledgeable.

After missing an opportunity to buy a leather messenger bag in Spain, and not finding what I wanted on Amazon, I went to El Paso Saddle blanket in Anthony, Texas. And I found just what I was looking for. And at the price I expected pleatger. Nope. Real glove leather. Fabulous. So, why go to Spain or even Mexico when great things are to be found just off I-10 in Anthony.
Just ordering from Amazon. They don't sell to the public. It was better when they use to be on airways back in the day.
Their selection is broad; pricing is modest/fair on most items; they fill orders swiftly; their paperwork is clear; their packaging for shipping is top-of-the-line (very protective of their inventory); and they've been friendly every time I've communicated with them (that's important to me). I recommend them.
El Paso Saddleblanket is an amazing place!! The customer service is exceptional and in one word EXCELLENT!! The gentleman who helped my mom and I was patient and kind. I am so very glad that they are no longer open to general public and service only business owners now! Dusty and Bonnie the owners are down to earth and encouraging. They greeted us and even offered to serve us beverages. WOW!! The products have an exceptional quality!! Everything was beautiful. I am looking forward to my next visit even if it is an 8 hour round trip. These folks are all very amazing. BUSINESS OWNERS you must go check them out!! 4/5/2016
Great selection and outstanding service. Yes it is closed to retail sales, but all can obtained shopped through the website. We shop wholesale and there is enough selection to occupy the entire showroom. It is a fun and exiting experience shopping here. Thank you for making these product available to our city. Thank you
Love this place! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Lots of awesome selection and the showroom is something you have to see to believe. In regards to other reviews, it is no longer open to the public, only for wholesale. If you are not a business there are over 11,000 retailers in the world carrying their products, find a location to purchase from. As a retail family, El Paso Saddleblanket is one of a kind for us! So many great products.
Was welcomed and treated incredibly well by the staff and owner himself, signing up for a wholesale account was simple and straightforward, the showroom featured thousands of items at great prices. 10/10 recommend for anyone looking to move southwest products
Absolutely terrible customer service. We came in with a business license and wanting to spend minimum $1000, yet 4 different people told us we could not see product or go in the showroom. We told them we wanted to be dealers for the blankets and they told us no. DON'T BOTHER GOING THERE. They will give you snarky attitude and turn you away. Also, their reply is FALSE. Trying to cover it up. I said I wanted to buy things for myself AFTER I was told we could not use my boss's business license. No matter what I said, they said no. We provided all documentation needed as well as telling them to contact my boss by phone. Customer service is incompetent and disorganized. 4 different ppl told us 4 different things. They asked for something, I gave it to them, then they still said no. I gave them proof of documentation as well as authorization confirmation, bosses #, ect. We will gladly take our business elsewhere. Good riddance.
