Amusement park
Water & Amusement Parks
Wooden roller coaster, seasonal water park & lots of other rides featured at a local amusement park.
Slide 1 of 8
A charming smaller amusement park, with friendly staff . I actually really enjoyed this park . Yes it's much smaller than many , but it is very nice and has a decent amount of rides. I'd say the best one is Shivering Timbers, which was surprisingly smooth overall with a few rough spots ( I expected it to be much much rougher) . The water park also looked to be really good, though I only walked in there and looked around. Overall though if you're in the area I'd definitely say check this park out ! Only real negative I can say about my visit was that thunder hawk was down the entire day unfortunately. I had really hoped to get a ride on it , maybe sometime in the future!
A smaller family friendly theme park with a nice water park inside. If you're looking for dozens of crazy coasters this isn't the place, but if you can get by with a couple, want a water park, or have younger children this is a great spot. We went in a nice day in the middle of the week shortly after opening. The line to get in took less than five minutes and we walked right on to the first few rides. By mid day it was a little busier, but certainly not crowded. Only waited in one line over fifteen minutes including water slides.
My kids had a blast here, the ticket prices are fair and there is tons to do here. They have a large variety of rides for all ages. They are even chubby-friendly as my hubby was able to ride everything with ease! The park is clean and well-maintained, and the staff was mostly friendly. Some staff had attitudes, but most were nice. The food prices are OUTRAGEOUS! The burger and fries were 16 bucks and it was a frozen over-salted patty. Was gross. That was the only downside. The drink cups are so worth it! Pays for itself. I will be back a million more times its well worth the money. Just pack a lunch!
Feelings of nostalgia as you see some classic rides mixed in with the new. We had a great time at both the water and amusement park. Affordable and perfectly sized for a day full of fun all ages can appreciate. Over 8 water slides to match all thrill levels! I would not purchase the food plan, it was a waste and did not include beverages. Honestly, if you eat breakfast before hand, you will only eat once around mid-day because you are captivated and having such a wonderful time. You truly only want a cold beverage or ice cream.
Had a lot of fun at the park! Shivering Timbers is such a fun ride! We spent two days at the park and overall had a great time! The good: -Park is clean, does need a little maintenance such as fence painting. -Shivering Timbers, Wolverine Wildcat, Sea Dragon, Logrun were all very fun! -Beer Garden was a nice spot to relax at both the water park and amusement park! -Lines are not super long! Except for Wild Mouse. (That one they need to figure out) -The train that takes you from one side of the park to the other! Super fun! -Season passes work here! Along with season drink pass! Huge win! The bad: -The water park smelled like poop. Legitimately spent most the day gagging because I kept getting smells of it. This was my biggest complaint of the entire park. -Could use a few new coasters. I know a lot of funding gets allocated toward Cedar Point, but this park is in desperate need of a few smoother coasters. -Food options! Not many great food options. We ended up spending $60 on a pizza there for all of us! Insane! Overall, I would rate the park 4/5! It's a great family park and love not having to wait 3 hours to go on a ride. Super fun two days were spent there!
We had a great day at the park! The mobile app for the park was a life saver! It told you how to get to the rides you wanted to ride. If you were looking for food, it guided to there. It was very convenient and great to use. Having upgraded to the drink plan was handy! Anytime you were thirsty, just stopped at any one or the drink stations and get your beverage of choice! Looking forward to going back real soon!
it's a fun and great place for family fun!! be prepared, no cash. i found this out the hard way. and holy cow, i remember when tickets used to be $25 to get in, for both parks. now, it's $25 for parking, $60 entry fee (just to get in, riding rides or not) and an extra $69 for the Fast Lane passes. just giving people a heads up on things that i didn't know. ♡ also a recommendation: ADD "fast pass" rides to the water park too! side note: Thunderhawk was down, super disappointing!
We had such a great time at Michigan's Adventure! The kids love the wave pool, and we rode several rides, including the Shivering Timbers and the Mad Mouse. The park was clean, the staff were friendly, and the food was good for the theme park. It was a full day of fun during our Michigan vacation. This park has always been our go-to spot every time we visit the area, and it never disappoints. Highly recommend for families looking for both thrills and water fun!

Wide expanse of public beach on Lake Michigan offering white sands & a view of a lighthouse.

We watched the sunset on the beach here and it was absolutely stunning. The sand is so soft and bright. It’s a decent walk from the parking area to the shoreline, but worth it. They have a huge park, a pier you can walk to a lighthouse and great public restrooms. There’s also a cool restaurant chill space that hosts concerts called The Deck. We will be back!
This was my first time at Pere Marquette beach. It was absolutely lovely. I enjoyed the walks along the pier. The scenery was just beautiful! I came at a good time, as there was no paid parking after September 15th. The beach was clean the water was clear. I've been passed here on busy days and I don't think I would want to be here when it's busy but today there was very few people
I love this park. I drove all the way from Ohio just to see this beautiful beach and to see lake michigan. Such a beautiful site to see that words just can't be put into. I visited it most recently and it was really crowded but that's to be expected in summer. My last visit before this summer was when I lived in muskegon and I visited in late fall/winter and that was also wonderful. But just very cold. 🤣
Great beach. The water and sand was clean. They have bathrooms and changing areas. A small café with a small menu and ice cream. Outdoor shower to rinse the sand off. A large playground. A walking mat for easier walking to the beach, this is great if you have a wagon or in a wheelchair. At the end of the walking mat they have tables for family's that have someone in a wheelchair in their group. They even have an area with tools for bike repairs. The restaurant The Deck is also located on the beach. The Deck has great food, drinks and entertainment on certain nights. The only con is that they raised the parking fee to 10.00.
The beach was great beautiful. Parking enforcement is terrible. You can see by the pictures I posted that there was one meter out (there was also a second one out, not pictured) that had two parking enforcement patrols park adjacent to the meter that was out of order, both actively writing tickets for cars parked near the meters that were not working. What a terrible way to represent the city.
clean sand with rocks, pebbles, or shells unless you in the water even then it's clear. plenty of parking on both sides of the beach and way more usable beach then in prior years
Nice place, you can go up into the light house for $5. When its open for tours. All volunteers and the money goes to restoration of the 2 harbor lights. Very knowledgeable guides on site
Beautiful clean beach with a playground. Bathrooms were clean and the sunset was absolutely stunning. Highly recommend the lighthouse tour and a walk out to the brake light. Parking is $10 for the day, you can come and go.

Probably the prettiest beach we've seen. The sand is beautiful the water is clean and the beach is real long so it's possible to escape the people when it's 95 degrees weather and everyone is at the beaches. There's lots of parking too.
Nice trails. They are remodeling the visitors center now so it’s closed by you can walk around the construction to get to the trail heads. The new visitor center is going to be great. Minnesota does a great job of improving the parks For us all to enjoy.
Nice state park. Clean restrooms. The beach is a hike from the camping grounds. Beautiful trails for biking and hiking. Beautiful beach. Not a 5 star only because its not super close to the beach, quite a hike to it and no full hook ups, only electric.
Tall trees make for shaded sites, most sites seem to be a close enough walk to the trail to the beach. Pretty large state park overall but didn't feel overcrowded with most sites filled. Will be back someday from MN!
State parks are supposed to make you feel relaxed and inviting but it doesn't feel like that here, the park attendant came up to our rig (truck & travel trailer) first thing telling us that they don't have trailers like this in here, so... please if your going to be up there park so you can pull out cause it gets packed up there... so, we pull in and find a big motorhome up in the top parking lot and their not packed facing out... why are you discriminating our rig? Not friendly at all here, came to grill out and enjoy our afternoon as a family! Everyone is speeding and it looks like all they hire is children
We sure enjoyed our camping here! We had perfect weather and there was no mosquitoes. The water was refreshing and the camp host was so friendly! The newly rebuilt, bathrooms and showers were wonderful to use. This is our favorite place to go camping and we look forward to our yearly weeklong camping at Hoffmaster State Park!!
Amazing beach and nice campground. Plenty of showers and fairly clean. We were fortunate to not have anyone on either side of us because there isn’t much separating each of the sites.
This park is clean, well-kept, with a modern and well maintained restroom. The beach area is spacious and clean as well. One of the best beaches to visit along Lake Michigan. Definitely the best in the Muskegon area.

Naval history is on display at this spacious museum complete with tours of a preserved WWII sub.
Slide 1 of 8
It’s been many years since I’ve been here! This museum has changed in a major way. They have an indoor up & down stairs area. The indoor explains submarine function & history also including other service branches & units. The upstairs mentions the US Merchant Marine, a Marine aviator, USGI field equipment, war posters and various ship models. The Silversides could be a better museum. It would be nice to see an indoor exhibit of submarine escape w/ lockout chamber explaining, how SEALs enter & exit a sub. It was also awsome to meet the curator! I do recommend checking this place out. 👍👍🇺🇸😁
We loved it! Museum is full of WWII info and related stuff from the Silverside. The sub is still amazing after all these years. Everyone was friendly. Attractions inside are interesting with lots of real objects to see and explore.
For those into history, this is a must see. I toured the submarine , and it was amazing that we had that kind of technology back then in those tight cramped spaces. It's nothing like what you see in the movies. Nothing. If I lived in the area I would go back a few more times by myself. So I could read every little detail and tour the sub again.
We visited the Submarine Museum and ship in October 2025 for a Scouting America campout—and YES, we actually spent the night on the sub! Total bucket list experience. The Museum The museum is really well done and gives a great history of submarine warfare and this specific boat. There’s a short film in a small theater, several walk-through exhibits with artifacts, and a nice gift shop. It’s the perfect warm-up before going on the ship. The Submarine Most of the sub is still intact and you can explore the main areas. Just remember—it’s a real submarine, so the spaces are TIGHT. Very cool to picture 72 sailors living and working in those close quarters. Overnight Experience This was the highlight! We had pizza on the 2nd floor of the museum, then got a few hours to explore before loading onto the sub for the night. Scouts slept in the torpedo room and leaders stayed in the crew quarters. It felt surreal to sleep where the actual sailors once did. If you’re anywhere nearby, take the time to visit—and if you ever get the chance to do the overnight program, DO IT. It was an amazing experience and I’d go back in a heartbeat!
The museum has both indoor and outdoor sections. The outdoor part features a submarine that you can board and tour. The indoor museum displays exhibits on World War II history and the USS Silversides submarine. It has two floors, with most of the exhibits located on the first floor. There is also a theater. While the video may not be professionally made, it is helpful to see a recording of a typical tour guide inside the submarine. Both sections require paid admission. Overall, it is an informative museum and worth a visit.
We went here with our Scout group for an overnight adventure and it did not disappoint. We got a private tour of the Sub, a demonstration on how a submarine works, and a rare opportunity to sleep on an actual submarine overnight. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity that we will always remember. The facilities were very clean, the staff was helpful and knowledgeable with any questions we had. We would definitely come again.
An impressive museum! It’s self guided and fairly priced. There are a lot of things to read, some interactive exhibits including a periscope to look through and the submarine to tour, a well-stocked gift shop, and theater to watch a short film. They include world history spanning hundreds of years and Michigan and the Great Lakes ship building during wars. I would visit again.
Who can be the first to get this right: how many gauges are on the USS Silversides? Clocks count (a gauge of time); indicator lights do not. Just ballparking, maybe 300? Subs are highly complex - no wonder they required a large crew. I've toured many historic warships; I don't recall seeing one in better condition inside. Kudos to the preservers of this historic sub! There are a lot of interesting things to notice, like diesel engines that compress the fuel & air mixture from both sides! We enjoyed the museum too; it was like a WWII refresher course.

Wow what a huge state park. As you drive along there's plenty of sandy beach to enjoy Lake Michigan. Lot's of hilly sand dunes. There's different campgrounds to find your perfect spot. Connected to the channel with views of the light house and the submarine. A must see and stay for day's state park.
There's a little bit of wonder when it comes to this park... Wonder to be found in the sand, in the lake, in the trails. But really this is just a beautiful portion of Michigan's natural identity. And more than once I've been drawn to its wooded paths or sandy hikes, or even just wanted to find a quieter spot on the beach to enjoy the ever changing views of the Great Lakes wondrous inland freshwater oceans from afternoon to sunset. This is a great place to find all that and more. With the inlet creating a smaller lake on the other side of the park, you can catch a gorgeous sunrise as well, and enjoy lots of local birds singing and waves lapping gently at soft sand beaches. Sometimes you can catch sight of a freighter going through the channel, or sailboats meandering around the lake as they tack back to their slip. And the best thing to wonder about? When you're going to come back next. Because this is a place that takes hold of you and beckons you to return.
Grew up coming to this park, as I get older the dunes grow hard to climb. Great place to spend the family. Not as crazy as Grand Haven and you might actually get beach time without being hit by a kid and their football. Come Make memories for you and your family like I did.
From the entrance to the exit this park had everything we could want. We got the beach and trails. Then the sunset. We witnessed the monarch butterfly migration and saw the northern lights all in one day. Don't miss the luge park and all of its activities. Winter, summer or fall this place does have it all.
This State Park has two campgrounds. The North is very wooded and has hills (dunes). There is access to Lake Michigan from this campground. It is also across the street from the Muskegon Spirts Complex. The complex has luge runs, zip lines and walking trails. Pretty nice. They also have a lighted trail for walking at night. We stayed in the Channel Campground which is located by the channel from Lake Michigan to Muskegon Lake. There is only a small beach on Muskegon Lake. The Lake Michigan beach you would have to drive to. Most of the campsites have paved pads for trailers. The rest rooms are good. There is access to several hiking trails which go up into the dunes. These are hiking not bike trails. Overall it has been a relaxing stay.
Beautiful state park went and did the zipline, the rock walls and the luge. Don't pass up the beach here it's one of a kind being quite a beautiful sandy open freshwater body of water.
Very nice, well maintained trails. Excellent maps for direction and distance. Not much cell service. Pretty easy hike to Lost Lake.
This is by far one of my favorite Michigan state parks. When the temps are hot on the beach the shaded campground offers a shady respite. The sunsets do not disappoint. This year the water spigots either didn’t work or were trickles of their former selves. It made collecting water for dishes and drinking a bit challenging. In the Fall you need to be careful because the bounty of acorns are constantly dropping and they hurt if you get beaned in the noggin. We have a vintage metal camper and it scared the poo out of me at night because they sounded like little explosions 😂 Ruth Ann’s is an adorable ice cream store that you can easily access from the campground on foot. One thing I noticed is that there are multiple arc/trailer sites with the fireplace on the right. If it’s not a pull through that makes it hard to position your camper so that the fire pit is on the same side as your door instead of behind your camper/ trailer

What an incredible journey through military history aboard the USA LST 393! It was fascinating to explore the rich stories and experiences this vessel carries with it. Those who work there clearly love the ship and enjoy sharing their knowledge of it.
An independent organization of dedicated souls make this an amazing museum dedicated to the service of our military men and women. The ship is filled with exhibits but more than the ship, it is filled with stories. Scan thru the photos of the many reviewers to for there are many excellent photos already posted.
Really cool place to visit. They have memorials of all wars and branches if military. Have fun exploring the ship, and you can get up close to the items in the museum too!
This is a really cool museum that is definitely worth the trip. Tremendous artifacts and momentos of those who fought in the US Armed Forces throughout our nations history. Staff was exceptional. They were very informative and friendly. Go check it out!
This museum has so much more research and history than I could have ever imagined! They have created a retired ship into such a great learning opportunity for people of all ages. They have a lot of different aspects of the military on display and different wars! They have done a great job of restoring and preserving the history of this ship.
As a navy veteran I felt right at home exploring the ship. I highly recommend watching the video to the right of the gift shop because it shows how the LST approached a shore, unloaded its cargo, and then was able to exit the shore. I was amazed how much cargo a LST could carry. Do be advised the ladders (stairs) are very narrow and steep.
Well restored ship with some of the best military museum pieces I've seen. Definitely worth a visit!
A genuine treasure for the city of Muskegon. This WWII LST (Landing Ship Tank) during the war there were almost 1,200. Only 2 survive today.

Enjoyed a interesting historical tour at two beautiful Queen Anne style homes and carriage house. We had the best, engaging tour guide that shared many interesting facts. I'm so glad we made this stop when visiting Muskegon.
Loved this place! So much history and intricate art work, the restoration work shows a lot of care and tour guides are always reaching and learning!
All the homes and experiences at this stop were top notch. I've toured a lot of historic homes, all over the country, and these homes were in my top 5. The staff was amazing and they have done a fantastic job preserving these homes. We truly got to tour the entire home and the attention to detail is outstanding.
I LOVED visiting these historic mansions and Terry was an amazing tour guide. Both mansions have been lovingly restored and it was fascinating learning about the families and local history. We also visited the Fire Barn. A must see in Muskegon!
We didn't take the tour but walked around the grounds. Houses are beautiful with very distictve architecture. Easy access via street parking out front.
We love going through these old mansions. We've been here for Christmas and other times, but this time we took the "backstage" tour that is a guided tour into places the regular visits don't allow. Our guide did a great job on this "white glove" tour showing us things you don't normally see and answering our questions. All the ropes were down, so to speak, and we saw EVERYTHING!
This place is spectacular. The tour was so interesting. We had Beth for a guide and she was top notch. We enjoyed every moment. Even the little store and the lady who cashes ylu out is enjoyable. Everyone was so kind and you get to view a total of 5 buildings with your 15$!!. It's great!
Impromptu stopped in Muskegon, and we found the historic district. Beautiful homes on this street. Worthwhile, if passing through and looking to do something on a road trip. We did the tour. No A/C.

Great place to see some art! Visited the Festival of Trees exhibit in 2023! Cost was $5 plus general admission of $10. They also had other cool displays too like Oddities & Delights cheeseburger and cow displays! In addition to the general art/displays they have.
Loved the gift shop! The art work was beautiful! Ended up going there on Thursday by chance and it was free to get in!
The museum is beautiful with a diverse collection of artwork! The pieces were stunning and interesting! There were a vast number of techniques and textures, from leather carved pieces, glass, wood etc. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable! One staff member in particular was attentive and enhanced the experience!
There is a beautiful glass collection to view which is one of the best presented I've seen, the lighting is perfect on each object and the totally blacked out room makes every single piece glow. I was there to see this year's Michigan Contemporary Art Exhibition. I have a piece included and am very honored to be in it. Beautiful exhibition spaces and very thoughtfully hung. This exhibition is totally free to view, as is the parking lot behind the building. Highly recommend
“Do you love the world?” I do! So there! - Jeanne Monteagle Julia Child is a cool chick. It’s worth it to pay the extra coinage $8 to see her exhibit. Thursday’s are free - fyi. I would have easily been there 3-4 hours. Nice, well curated exhibits and a refreshing/ enlightening way to spend the day. Love your life. Exactly as it is.
First time visiting this museum. We went to see the Art Nouveau: Age of Elegance exhibit. Didn't disappoint. This museum is expansive and offers many styles and mediums from glass to oil and canvis to sculptures. 12$ entry fee is well worth it.
It's been quite awhile since I've been. The new addition is very nice. Check the website. There are days that offer discounts made available by some local foundations. Wear good shoes the concrete floors can be hard on older bodies. Check out the portable chairs. They are light enough to carry and make it good to rest and look at individual paintings.

Great place to bring your dog. Chase had a blast in the sand dunes and on the beach.
Awesome park so close to home I didn’t even realize it. Well kept and dog friendly. We watched the sun set and played on the beavh, not bad at all!
We took our dog there. She loved it. The beach, water and grounds were very clean. Sugar sand, on the beach and in the water. Perfect for chasing your dog and throwing the frisbee in the water. I've been many beaches around the world and sorry about your fancy ocean beach, nothing compares to good ole lake Michigan, right in our own backyard. A real national treasure. A HUGE thank you to everyone pitching in to keep it clean! Fantastic job! I appreciate your efforts!

Beautiful Park and views but in order to get to the beach, there is hike down sand dunes. It's also a dog beach if you're not a dog person. They also have pavilions that are located on the opposite side of the beach area.
Extremely beautiful view of Lake Michigan. Wish there was more in regards to safety

My kids (2 and 4) always have such a great time at this museum! It’s definitely more geared toward children, with plenty of hands-on activities to keep little ones engaged. I’ve noticed that older visitors sometimes seem caught off guard by the energetic atmosphere, as kids are often running around and exploring. That said, we’ve always had a fantastic experience — we’ve even met up with friends for playdates here. Plus, it’s free for Muskegon locals, which is a wonderful bonus. Highly recommend for families with young kids!
We loved the STEM rooms and learning about all the native animals. For the kids it's all about the interactive things.
Beautiful place, well worth your visit. Just finished a 15.5 million renovation.
Great exhibits about Muskegon's history and a good stem room. Love the ancient history of Michigan's environment on the basement level. Free for Muskegon residents.
Before anything else, I just want to say thank you for having the sensory bags available! They were the reason that we were able to visit your museum with our nephew in the first place. The kids did enjoy the museum overall, but felt that the activity rooms could use an upgrade if possible! Some of the available toys were simply aged or not as accessible as modern toys/usable artifacts. Curation wise, I definitely got the sense that the museum centred around Muskegon's history; however, I don't feel as compelled to re-visit as I do, say, comparable museums such as the UP Children's Museum or Science North in Ontario. Some possible improvements could be updating some of the displays to more accurately reflect the past twenty or so years, create more interactive displays, and perhaps come up with a more unique display to Muskegon itself. Plenty of other local museums feature similar information on WWII and the different ages of our planet, but is there something particularly different or important about Muskegon or the county that could be featured in a new display? Something like this would make me want to come back.
Smallish museum but well designed with a variety of high quality artworks including paintings, sculptures and special exhibits. The Christmas exhibit is like taking a step back in time with all sorts of vintage items. Definitely worth a visit.
The Museum offered many hands-on things for kids to learn through, the Science room was a bit sparce due to people taking things I'm sure. The girls I took had a blast and that's what mattered most to me.
This is a must visit if you have littles. They hand two different hands on areas, along with interactive elements throughout the entire museum. Our son could've spent all day there. The staff was also super friendly, and we had a great time.

Today was my first visit to this gem of a local museum. I did not expect such a rich, lovely experience! Jim was the best tour guide ever. I learned so much about local industry and his stories made me feel transported to another time. It was engaging and fun, and I left there loving Muskegon more than ever. Can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you, Jim! 😁
Did you know that Raggedy Ann & Andy dolls were made in Muskegon? Or that it had one of the largest refrigerator factories in the world? There is one small section of industry highlighted after another. Staff are very excited to share the museum and will eagerly answer any questions. This museum is largely focused on the industries that are or have been in Muskegon. It doesn't have info about its logging history, although I suspect that is found more at the Hackley Home museum. We spent about 1.5 hours here and really enjoyed it. 2 hour parking on the street and other parking on side streets nearby.
The Muskegon Heritage Museum of Business & Industry is located in the historic downtown, right across from the Amazon sign. Don’t be fooled by the name—it refers to the Amazon Knitting Company, which was native to Muskegon long before the existence of the online retailer. The museum is quiet and surprisingly informative, offering rich insights into local history and the manufacturing industry. Exhibits include steam engine-powered "appliances," vintage bowling machines, the lumber trade, and more. It’s truly a hidden gem in the Muskegon area.
Must-see museum in Muskegon. We learned so much! It was really awesome seeing the HUGE steam-powered hydraulic machines. I've been an avid bowler since I was a kid, so of course I loved all of the Brunswick history.
We had a fantastic visit to this museum. Jim gave a wonderful tour and went above and beyond to make it a great experience! You would never guess by looking at the outside of the building how much is in there: a working steam engine, working bowling pin setter, player piano, and much much more!
Amazing place. Has 3 stories packed full of history and information. I could roam this place for hours. Maybe the greatest historical museum centered around industry in all of West Michigan. There’s also very nice people who work here.
It's amazing that so much of muskegon's history fits in this space. The displays brought back many memories of my hometown.
One of my favorite museums. Represents local business and industry history. Lot of really neat stuff.

On the outside the mall is quite overgrown and not taken care of, trees, weeds, and bushes are growing wild and are a disaster. And once you step inside the mall, you're greeted with a pleasant surprise, the mall is quite nice! And I'm talking about the building itself, its well lit, clean, easy to roam around and doesn't have any funny smells. BUT, the mall is missing one thing. Stores! There are hardly any places left inside. My photos on this review show the current state in July 2025. Its bare, walking through it there aren't many people either, even on the busiest day of the week which is Saturday. This mall won't survive in it's current state, it'll be interesting to see how it's turned around since the Family Farm & Home store just opened on the property which is not accessible from the mall itself.
Langes runs this mall! If you geek out on any pop culture go to Langes and see what they have! Shirts, plush, pins, statues, toys and best of all Comics! Plus the Record and card store add to the pop culture fun of the mall and are right outside langes now.
The Lakes Mall is a wonderful place just to hang out. The businesses are trickling out and some of the smaller shops are expanding into some of the vacant stores. I think something really needs to be done to bring back the liveliness of these malls and as long as private Equity firms decide that they're going to own everything that will be a lost cause. I enjoy some of the shops there and I hope they continue to be successful. And I think human beings need to get up out of their Collective chairs and go down to the mall and buy some things when it makes sense financially for them.
See, it's a great mall. I went out with some friends and we had a great time... Especially over the Pokemon cards! But we had to leave because they close at 7. What kind of closing time is that? Why can't we have some time for it to be open until maybe 9? I just feel that 7 is a little early for hanging out with friends, just my opinion. Food was great though...
The mall is there however many anchor stores are no longer and several local and vintage shops have popped up like comic books and a hat store. The bathroom was not very clean and the security is not walking around when I have been there they are sitting or on a cell phone. Could definitely use some updates and sad to see many things leave the Lakes mall. The new Farm and Fleet store does not have an entrance into the mall you can only access from outside which was a bit confusing.
This mall...is dying. Has been for some time now. I actually worked there on the very day it opened, sad to see it go downhill so quickly. The only reason I go there now is to check out what Static Video has in stock, and to take liminal pictures (it's a GREAT location for that if you're into it!) Always smells like Auntie Anne's (no complaints there!) and is very quiet if you want a place to just hang out with very little people around or to do some mall walking.
You know, as I vote on like the millage for the library, and the millage for Fruitport schools, I really wish there was some way as a community we could band together to make this some sort of public establishment. I don't know if that makes sense, but it's hard to see our local lake Smallville missing when if we each could contribute like $5 to the right resource per year, we might be able to keep this establishment open and flourishing. Might be some sort of entrepreneurial opportunity for someone out there, just hurts to see it decay.
The mall was clean and not crowded. I was pleasantly surprised at how empty the play place was as well. The only bad thing I could say is that there were not many stores open and service was a little bit lengthy as I was only customer in food court

Great Fun, Very Interesting, Really Nice Museum, Very Reasonably Priced, Absolutely Love The Soda Bowl, the Malts are Amazing!! The People have done an amazing job of restoring that beautiful Ship!!
Had a lovely breakfast served by the clipper's volunteers for Memorial Day. It's always great to see people so enthusiastic. I must come back for a proper tour someday, but the "Soda Bowl" Cafe was a nostalgic treat.
Been meaning to swing by here for a while and finally made it in. Lots of great details on the ship. Lots of original furniture and dining booths. The tour is self guided with a pamphlet. Weekends it would be busier and they have a little ice cream area that only operates on weekends also. They do have special events and there is a dance floor. On Sunday's they will give tours of the engine area. This ship has quite a history and I would recommend a visit here.
What a delightful afternoon! It was an impromptu break during a long drive so we didn't know what to expect. The knowledgeable guide educated us about the fascinating history of the ship (it is older than the Titanic!) as well as the general industries around the Great Lakes. Several places have been restored to original. It was like stepping back in time. The hour long tour was well worth the cost of admission.
Very interesting ship to see both what it was like and what time does to a ship. A bulletin explains the history of the ship and gives directions for the tour. If you are planning to enjoy some ice cream like we were, call ahead to make sure it's happening. It's all-volunteer, so it may be happening, and it may not. Lots of good places nearby for ice cream. Here's a summary of the ship's history from the organization's website: Commissioned in 1904 by the Erie & Western Transportation Company, the steamer JUNIATA was a luxurious 361-foot passenger and package freight vessel built for service on the Great Lakes. Powered by a rare 3,000 horsepower Quadruple Expansion steam engine, she accommodated 350 passengers in first-class comfort with elegant mahogany interiors, fine cuisine, and grand architectural features. Operating between Buffalo and Duluth, she served for over three decades until 1937, when stricter safety regulations required her retirement due to her wooden superstructure. In 1940, the JUNIATA was purchased and transformed into the S.S. MILWAUKEE CLIPPER, featuring a fireproof steel superstructure, air-conditioned staterooms, and modern amenities like a movie theater and dance floor. She served as a passenger and auto ferry between Muskegon and Milwaukee from 1941 to 1970, with continued use during World War II and year-round service through the early 1960s. After several ownership changes and relocations, she was recognized as a National Historic Landmark and eventually returned to Muskegon in 1997 by a preservation group dedicated to restoring the historic steamer to its former glory.
I stopped by to visit the ship and was very impressed by the museum. I did not have time to tour the whole ship but I look forward to revisiting in the near future. The staff was very kind and informative. This is a great stop for anyone interested in Great Lakes, nautical, or commercial transportation history.
Took a step back in time with a self guided tour with so much history. It was easy to navigate with areas being blocked off so you can find your way across multiple decks. I met the curator, Ray (I believe that was his name...i'm bad remembering names), and he shared so many great facts about the Clipper, including his personal stories. The Soda Bowl was a nice treat to have in the middle of the tour. Our family of six had a great time!
I stopped here at the Milwaukee Clipper with my mom, and it was an interesting experience (in a good way). We always come over on the Lake Express, and we wanted to finally tour the ship, so we gave it a try. The service was great onboard, the actual tour was informative, and the price was not bad either. First, the service. All of the volunteers working at the Milwaukee Clipper were kind, passionate, and informative. You could tell they were interested about the vessel, and it made for an enjoyable experience. The only gripe I have with the Clipper is the spotty availability. For a Friday, the hours are 1-5pm and the gate is supposed to be open, so we get to the attraction and it was closed with a posted phone number to call. We called the phone number and it wasn’t even the Milwaukee Clipper that answered. So, that was an interesting miscommunication. My Rating for this Category: 4/5 Second, the tour itself. The tour was fabulous, and the tour guide takes you all around the vessel, explaining everything in detail in the process. Their enthusiasm was appreciated, and she always made you want to know more. The tour took about 40 minutes which was plenty of time. My Rating for this Category: 5/5 Finally, the price. My mom and I paid about $12/piece, and for a 40 minute tour of an extremely historical boat, we found the price to be reasonable. There are other pricing rates available depending on various circumstances. Also, with the great customer service, we had no complaints here. My Rating for this Category: 5/5 The next time that I am in the Muskegon area with friends or family between Wednesday and Sunday, I would have no reservation taking them on the Milwaukee Clipper. The great tour with great service and a nice price makes this a no-brainer when in the Muskegon area. So, I have no reservation recommending the Milwaukee Clipper tour to anyone’s

Best kept secret art space in downtown muskegon in the lower level of the Century Club Building. Beautiful art from some of the finest of West Michigan's own talented artists. Watch for classes, open studio time, open mic, all to give you a fuller art experience! This won't be a secret long, so get in now!
Renae the owner publicly announces she is into segregating people, states she believes they should be tattooed visibly on their forehead to prevent her from ever being with them. Full of bigotry and hate, I suggest you don’t fund her business, and that she as a business owner better presents herself to people.
Theres such a diverse collection of art here. You have something for the Young and the old, the edgy and dark and the traditional.

This little garden is sooo cool and such a peaceful little spot, home to a fish pond, butterfly waystation, wildflowers and lots more! Also, benches to enjoy it all! They have quite a few small public gardens like this around Muskegon and it’s awesome to see! You definitely have to check this out!
Very beautiful, small attraction to look at in downtown Muskegon!
An unexpectedly cool little patch of color tucked into a quiet neighborhood of Muskegon. Mini reimagining of Monet’s Giverny garden spot, complete with pond and water lillies - and bridge. The flowers are on fire, and there are goldfish in the pond. It’s tiny but very cool.
This is a mini park inspired by Claude Monet's garden at Giverny. There's a replica of the green bridge over a tiny pond and flowers all around. Sit down on the bench and enjoy the view while taking a break from walking around enjoying the old buildings and museums nearby. Edit: Added pictures, July 2023.
Very beautiful. I hope they do more like these in the future 🌻
What a cute little garden!
Tiny garden but lovely all the same and adds another interesting spot to downtown Muskegon. Spot the goldfish in the little pond.
This was a lovely little compact garden, short walk from the Muskegon Art Museum.
