Specialty Museums
The USS Silversides Submarine Museum in Muskegon, Michigan is a spacious museum dedicated to honoring and preserving the military history. Visitors can explore the 2-story museum building, tour the preserved WWII submarine USS Silversides, and visit the prohibition-era U.S. Coast Guard cutter USCGC Mclane. The museum also offers activities such as overnight camping experiences in a submarine, shopping at their store, and attending various events. In addition to its expansion with the Robert G.
It’s been many years since I’ve been here! This museum has changed in a major way. They have an indoor up & down stairs area. The indoor explains submarine function & history also including other service branches & units. The upstairs mentions the US Merchant Marine, a Marine aviator, USGI field equipment, war posters and various ship models. The Silversides could be a better museum. It would be nice to see an indoor exhibit of submarine escape w/ lockout chamber explaining, how SEALs enter & exit a sub. It was also awsome to meet the curator! I do recommend checking this place out. 👍👍🇺🇸😁
Barnacle B — Google review
We loved it! Museum is full of WWII info and related stuff from the Silverside. The sub is still amazing after all these years. Everyone was friendly. Attractions inside are interesting with lots of real objects to see and explore.
Michael F — Google review
For those into history, this is a must see. I toured the submarine , and it was amazing that we had that kind of technology back then in those tight cramped spaces. It's nothing like what you see in the movies. Nothing. If I lived in the area I would go back a few more times by myself. So I could read every little detail and tour the sub again.
Joe W — Google review
We visited the Submarine Museum and ship in October 2025 for a Scouting America campout—and YES, we actually spent the night on the sub! Total bucket list experience. The Museum The museum is really well done and gives a great history of submarine warfare and this specific boat. There’s a short film in a small theater, several walk-through exhibits with artifacts, and a nice gift shop. It’s the perfect warm-up before going on the ship. The Submarine Most of the sub is still intact and you can explore the main areas. Just remember—it’s a real submarine, so the spaces are TIGHT. Very cool to picture 72 sailors living and working in those close quarters. Overnight Experience This was the highlight! We had pizza on the 2nd floor of the museum, then got a few hours to explore before loading onto the sub for the night. Scouts slept in the torpedo room and leaders stayed in the crew quarters. It felt surreal to sleep where the actual sailors once did. If you’re anywhere nearby, take the time to visit—and if you ever get the chance to do the overnight program, DO IT. It was an amazing experience and I’d go back in a heartbeat!
Jody G — Google review
The museum has both indoor and outdoor sections. The outdoor part features a submarine that you can board and tour. The indoor museum displays exhibits on World War II history and the USS Silversides submarine. It has two floors, with most of the exhibits located on the first floor. There is also a theater. While the video may not be professionally made, it is helpful to see a recording of a typical tour guide inside the submarine. Both sections require paid admission. Overall, it is an informative museum and worth a visit.
QL Q — Google review
We went here with our Scout group for an overnight adventure and it did not disappoint. We got a private tour of the Sub, a demonstration on how a submarine works, and a rare opportunity to sleep on an actual submarine overnight. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity that we will always remember. The facilities were very clean, the staff was helpful and knowledgeable with any questions we had. We would definitely come again.
DAn K — Google review
An impressive museum! It’s self guided and fairly priced. There are a lot of things to read, some interactive exhibits including a periscope to look through and the submarine to tour, a well-stocked gift shop, and theater to watch a short film. They include world history spanning hundreds of years and Michigan and the Great Lakes ship building during wars. I would visit again.
Hannah J — Google review
Who can be the first to get this right: how many gauges are on the USS Silversides? Clocks count (a gauge of time); indicator lights do not. Just ballparking, maybe 300? Subs are highly complex - no wonder they required a large crew. I've toured many historic warships; I don't recall seeing one in better condition inside. Kudos to the preservers of this historic sub! There are a lot of interesting things to notice, like diesel engines that compress the fuel & air mixture from both sides! We enjoyed the museum too; it was like a WWII refresher course.

Nature & Parks
Muskegon State Park encompasses a vast 1,000 acres of natural beauty, showcasing rare coastal plain marshes, dunes and woodlands. In addition to walking the scenic trails on offer, the park also boasts exciting winter and summer activities such as zip lining and luge runs. The staff at Muskegon State Park are exceptional in their speed, accuracy and commitment to safety while making all participants feel welcome regardless of their abilities or age.
Wow what a huge state park. As you drive along there's plenty of sandy beach to enjoy Lake Michigan. Lot's of hilly sand dunes. There's different campgrounds to find your perfect spot. Connected to the channel with views of the light house and the submarine. A must see and stay for day's state park.
Lynda S — Google review
There's a little bit of wonder when it comes to this park... Wonder to be found in the sand, in the lake, in the trails. But really this is just a beautiful portion of Michigan's natural identity. And more than once I've been drawn to its wooded paths or sandy hikes, or even just wanted to find a quieter spot on the beach to enjoy the ever changing views of the Great Lakes wondrous inland freshwater oceans from afternoon to sunset. This is a great place to find all that and more. With the inlet creating a smaller lake on the other side of the park, you can catch a gorgeous sunrise as well, and enjoy lots of local birds singing and waves lapping gently at soft sand beaches. Sometimes you can catch sight of a freighter going through the channel, or sailboats meandering around the lake as they tack back to their slip. And the best thing to wonder about? When you're going to come back next. Because this is a place that takes hold of you and beckons you to return.
Tom P — Google review
Grew up coming to this park, as I get older the dunes grow hard to climb. Great place to spend the family. Not as crazy as Grand Haven and you might actually get beach time without being hit by a kid and their football. Come Make memories for you and your family like I did.
Zachary S — Google review
From the entrance to the exit this park had everything we could want. We got the beach and trails. Then the sunset. We witnessed the monarch butterfly migration and saw the northern lights all in one day. Don't miss the luge park and all of its activities. Winter, summer or fall this place does have it all.
Theresa S — Google review
This State Park has two campgrounds. The North is very wooded and has hills (dunes). There is access to Lake Michigan from this campground. It is also across the street from the Muskegon Spirts Complex. The complex has luge runs, zip lines and walking trails. Pretty nice. They also have a lighted trail for walking at night. We stayed in the Channel Campground which is located by the channel from Lake Michigan to Muskegon Lake. There is only a small beach on Muskegon Lake. The Lake Michigan beach you would have to drive to. Most of the campsites have paved pads for trailers. The rest rooms are good. There is access to several hiking trails which go up into the dunes. These are hiking not bike trails. Overall it has been a relaxing stay.
Richard D — Google review
Beautiful state park went and did the zipline, the rock walls and the luge. Don't pass up the beach here it's one of a kind being quite a beautiful sandy open freshwater body of water.
Sam I — Google review
Very nice, well maintained trails. Excellent maps for direction and distance. Not much cell service. Pretty easy hike to Lost Lake.
Justin M — Google review
This is by far one of my favorite Michigan state parks. When the temps are hot on the beach the shaded campground offers a shady respite. The sunsets do not disappoint. This year the water spigots either didn’t work or were trickles of their former selves. It made collecting water for dishes and drinking a bit challenging. In the Fall you need to be careful because the bounty of acorns are constantly dropping and they hurt if you get beaned in the noggin. We have a vintage metal camper and it scared the poo out of me at night because they sounded like little explosions 😂 Ruth Ann’s is an adorable ice cream store that you can easily access from the campground on foot. One thing I noticed is that there are multiple arc/trailer sites with the fireplace on the right. If it’s not a pull through that makes it hard to position your camper so that the fire pit is on the same side as your door instead of behind your camper/ trailer

Museums
The Muskegon Museum of Art, established in 1912, is a charming museum showcasing an impressive permanent collection of American and European artworks. Visitors can admire works by renowned artists such as Edward Hopper, Winslow Homer, August Rodin, and more. The museum also boasts a contemporary studio glass collection featuring pieces by Dale Chihuly and Dante Marioni. Originally known as the Hackley Art Gallery, the museum houses original works purchased through the generous Hackley Picture Fund.
Great place to see some art! Visited the Festival of Trees exhibit in 2023! Cost was $5 plus general admission of $10. They also had other cool displays too like Oddities & Delights cheeseburger and cow displays! In addition to the general art/displays they have.
Jasmine A — Google review
Loved the gift shop! The art work was beautiful! Ended up going there on Thursday by chance and it was free to get in!
Lindsay N — Google review
The museum is beautiful with a diverse collection of artwork! The pieces were stunning and interesting! There were a vast number of techniques and textures, from leather carved pieces, glass, wood etc. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable! One staff member in particular was attentive and enhanced the experience!
Rene T — Google review
There is a beautiful glass collection to view which is one of the best presented I've seen, the lighting is perfect on each object and the totally blacked out room makes every single piece glow. I was there to see this year's Michigan Contemporary Art Exhibition. I have a piece included and am very honored to be in it. Beautiful exhibition spaces and very thoughtfully hung. This exhibition is totally free to view, as is the parking lot behind the building. Highly recommend

“Do you love the world?” I do! So there! - Jeanne Monteagle Julia Child is a cool chick. It’s worth it to pay the extra coinage $8 to see her exhibit. Thursday’s are free - fyi. I would have easily been there 3-4 hours. Nice, well curated exhibits and a refreshing/ enlightening way to spend the day. Love your life. Exactly as it is.

First time visiting this museum. We went to see the Art Nouveau: Age of Elegance exhibit. Didn't disappoint. This museum is expansive and offers many styles and mediums from glass to oil and canvis to sculptures. 12$ entry fee is well worth it.
Rorie M — Google review
It's been quite awhile since I've been. The new addition is very nice. Check the website. There are days that offer discounts made available by some local foundations. Wear good shoes the concrete floors can be hard on older bodies. Check out the portable chairs. They are light enough to carry and make it good to rest and look at individual paintings.

Pere Marquette Park is a picturesque public beach located on the shores of Lake Michigan, boasting white sands and stunning views of a lighthouse. The park is home to The Deck, a beachfront restaurant that has undergone significant renovations over the years to offer live music, ample seating, and family-friendly activities. Nearby, Dockers Fish House at Harbor Town Marina provides visitors with delicious dining options and breathtaking views of Muskegon Lake.
We watched the sunset on the beach here and it was absolutely stunning. The sand is so soft and bright. It’s a decent walk from the parking area to the shoreline, but worth it. They have a huge park, a pier you can walk to a lighthouse and great public restrooms. There’s also a cool restaurant chill space that hosts concerts called The Deck. We will be back!
Melanie R — Google review
This was my first time at Pere Marquette beach. It was absolutely lovely. I enjoyed the walks along the pier. The scenery was just beautiful! I came at a good time, as there was no paid parking after September 15th. The beach was clean the water was clear. I've been passed here on busy days and I don't think I would want to be here when it's busy but today there was very few people
Twila K — Google review
I love this park. I drove all the way from Ohio just to see this beautiful beach and to see lake michigan. Such a beautiful site to see that words just can't be put into. I visited it most recently and it was really crowded but that's to be expected in summer. My last visit before this summer was when I lived in muskegon and I visited in late fall/winter and that was also wonderful. But just very cold. 🤣
Robert T — Google review
Great beach. The water and sand was clean. They have bathrooms and changing areas. A small café with a small menu and ice cream. Outdoor shower to rinse the sand off. A large playground. A walking mat for easier walking to the beach, this is great if you have a wagon or in a wheelchair. At the end of the walking mat they have tables for family's that have someone in a wheelchair in their group. They even have an area with tools for bike repairs. The restaurant The Deck is also located on the beach. The Deck has great food, drinks and entertainment on certain nights. The only con is that they raised the parking fee to 10.00.
Tammy C — Google review
The beach was great beautiful. Parking enforcement is terrible. You can see by the pictures I posted that there was one meter out (there was also a second one out, not pictured) that had two parking enforcement patrols park adjacent to the meter that was out of order, both actively writing tickets for cars parked near the meters that were not working. What a terrible way to represent the city.
C M — Google review
clean sand with rocks, pebbles, or shells unless you in the water even then it's clear. plenty of parking on both sides of the beach and way more usable beach then in prior years

Nice place, you can go up into the light house for $5. When its open for tours. All volunteers and the money goes to restoration of the 2 harbor lights. Very knowledgeable guides on site
Steven T — Google review
Beautiful clean beach with a playground. Bathrooms were clean and the sunset was absolutely stunning. Highly recommend the lighthouse tour and a walk out to the brake light. Parking is $10 for the day, you can come and go.

The Hackley & Hume Historic Site in Muskegon, Michigan features two Queen Anne Victorian homes that belonged to lumber mill owners Charles Hackley and Thomas Hume in the late 19th century. These homes have been meticulously restored to showcase their original grandeur, with period decor and ornate carvings, stained glass, stenciled walls, and ceilings.
Enjoyed a interesting historical tour at two beautiful Queen Anne style homes and carriage house. We had the best, engaging tour guide that shared many interesting facts. I'm so glad we made this stop when visiting Muskegon.
Keri T — Google review
Loved this place! So much history and intricate art work, the restoration work shows a lot of care and tour guides are always reaching and learning!
Lindsay N — Google review
All the homes and experiences at this stop were top notch. I've toured a lot of historic homes, all over the country, and these homes were in my top 5. The staff was amazing and they have done a fantastic job preserving these homes. We truly got to tour the entire home and the attention to detail is outstanding.
Katey G — Google review
I LOVED visiting these historic mansions and Terry was an amazing tour guide. Both mansions have been lovingly restored and it was fascinating learning about the families and local history. We also visited the Fire Barn. A must see in Muskegon!
Elizabeth M — Google review
We didn't take the tour but walked around the grounds. Houses are beautiful with very distictve architecture. Easy access via street parking out front.
Rorie M — Google review
We love going through these old mansions. We've been here for Christmas and other times, but this time we took the "backstage" tour that is a guided tour into places the regular visits don't allow. Our guide did a great job on this "white glove" tour showing us things you don't normally see and answering our questions. All the ropes were down, so to speak, and we saw EVERYTHING!
Steve J — Google review
This place is spectacular. The tour was so interesting. We had Beth for a guide and she was top notch. We enjoyed every moment. Even the little store and the lady who cashes ylu out is enjoyable. Everyone was so kind and you get to view a total of 5 buildings with your 15$!!. It's great!

Unruly Brewing Company is a vibrant craft brewery located in Muskegon, offering a wide range of American ales and an assortment of sandwiches. It's known for its lively atmosphere, diverse beer lineup including seasonal and experimental brews, and the distinction of being the first brewery to brew beer in Muskegon since 1957. The brewery also features an outdoor beer garden, live music events, and free tours.
I am very pleased with my experience at Unruly Kitchen. Did you know that their tacos are only $ 1 on Thursdays? Yes, and their tacos are delish. Staff are personable and attentive - service is excellent. Unruly cares about it's customers, as noted by the yellow safety paint on the step down, front entrance. Well done, I say. I am a fan of Unruly Kitchen.

We visited during the day for lunch and were very pleased. The staff was super friendly and showed pride in their locally sourced food, which was absolutely delicious. Beer was quite good, as well. Love that they have outdoor seating.

Unruly Brewing company is a must visit, we were greeted with friendly service and great backstory about the location, menu options and the wide beer selection. I highly recommend the Jumping Joe, excellent flavor and portion size with terrific house made pickles. Thank you Unruly Brewing, cheers! 🍻

Great place, amazing stage. 3 solid rock bands with no cover on a Friday night. Very cool place.
Jeremy S — Google review
Definitely a dive, has bands here, drinks and food are all self service, you order and you bring to your table or chair. A bit no frills but works well here. People are generally friendly and helpful here. These guys make their own spirits and beer, the former I tried for whiskey and it’s very good. The Beer, I has a Tirim and it’s quite good too. I eat the Turkey the Barbadian, and it made fresh and hot, and they give you a tag to signal you when it’s ready - great when it’s crowded and or when it’s loud with a band. The TTB is quite excellent! And with chips too. Well worth it here, will come back again!
Tom K — Google review
Kind of a meh place from my one experience, but nothing to really complain about. There was karaoke going on, and sports on the tv, but it was just kind of boring. They have decent drinks, beer, seltzer, and cider, but nothing to race back for. The prices seemed high, too.
Marianne G — Google review
Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff here. I enjoyed the theme of the restaurant and the pinball machines. Food was alright. Got the Cuban sandwich and unfortunately the pulled pork was pretty dry and tough. I wished the sandwiches came with fries standard, as opposed to kettle chips.
Devin C — Google review
This place has really lost its *charm* Pictures of naked women on the walls, the food was mediocre. The worst part was the bartender. Brunette seemed to be under the influence of something. Rude and condescending toward us. The last time we gave this place a try we had her and another guy and she was the same way. We will skip this from now on and go to pigeon hill.

Nestled in the heart of Downtown Muskegon, Pigeon Hill Brewing Company is a vibrant hub for craft beer lovers and locals alike. This brewery takes pride in its diverse selection of Michigan-inspired brews, ranging from refreshing lagers to bold stouts and tangy sours—all available on tap. Founded with the vision of creating a welcoming community space, Pigeon Hill embodies local tradition while serving up pints that celebrate the region's rich brewing heritage.
Stopped by shortly after noon on Sunday. Long list of beer on tap. They also made a Bloody Mary for the folks next to us at the bar. Tasty beer. Just snacks but take in food was allowed at that time. The bartender was informative and knowledgeable. Enjoyed our visit.
Dave V — Google review
We hosted our rehearsal dinner here in their event space and Pigeon Hill exceeded all expectations! Price was not only extremely reasonable but service was absolutely top notch. They made sure all of our guests had drinks in hand and served more than enough food to feed everyone. We had a couple special requests, such as serving only appetizers first and then dinner later on, and they were more than accommodating for all of that. Special shout-out to Alana who helped us plan it out from beginning to end, super responsive and helpful all throughout. If I'm ever hosting a large event again, this place will be top of mind!
Joshua N — Google review
Amazing beer here. We came with a big group on Saturday night and there was tons of space for our group of 12. The Journeyman Porter and Lager Dave were both absolutely delicious! Their food was pretty average and honestly not worth the price we got two pizzas and a soft pretzel. It has a great lowkey vibe and you order at the bar and sit where you want. Come for the delicious beer and good times with friends!
Peter M — Google review
I absolutely love local breweries. Come here grab some good beers and support a privately owned brewery.
Liam A — Google review
There was a large variety of beers on tap. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The kitchen menu is very limited, with choices of pizza or a soft pretzel. We did enjoy a pizza.
Jim C — Google review
We came with our kids and enjoyed a pizza together. We also had a beer, the guy made a great sweeter recommendation! I was sad they didn’t have any sours, but that’s okay! Cute vibe, super friendly staff, and they even had good local recommendations! We forgot to get a pic of the fresh pizza, it was too good. It was thin crust and super tasty, and was also prepared quickly!

I love this place for the staff and the beer. Every draft and every to go 6 pack is always top notch. You can really taste how much they care about the product. Pigeon Hill is OG to the brewery scene on the lakeshore and they have been my favorite from the start and still are to this day.

The Muskegon Heritage Museum of Business & Industry is a unique destination that showcases the industrial heritage of the community. The museum features an operating antique machine shop, a working Corlis Valve Steam Engine, and a fully functional 100-year-old printing press. It specializes in displaying Muskegon's industries, businesses, and products made in the area. Visitors are drawn to the working bowling alley and the opportunity to witness demonstrations by friendly docents.
Today was my first visit to this gem of a local museum. I did not expect such a rich, lovely experience! Jim was the best tour guide ever. I learned so much about local industry and his stories made me feel transported to another time. It was engaging and fun, and I left there loving Muskegon more than ever. Can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you, Jim! 😁
Patty O — Google review
Did you know that Raggedy Ann & Andy dolls were made in Muskegon? Or that it had one of the largest refrigerator factories in the world? There is one small section of industry highlighted after another. Staff are very excited to share the museum and will eagerly answer any questions. This museum is largely focused on the industries that are or have been in Muskegon. It doesn't have info about its logging history, although I suspect that is found more at the Hackley Home museum. We spent about 1.5 hours here and really enjoyed it. 2 hour parking on the street and other parking on side streets nearby.
David B — Google review
The Muskegon Heritage Museum of Business & Industry is located in the historic downtown, right across from the Amazon sign. Don’t be fooled by the name—it refers to the Amazon Knitting Company, which was native to Muskegon long before the existence of the online retailer. The museum is quiet and surprisingly informative, offering rich insights into local history and the manufacturing industry. Exhibits include steam engine-powered "appliances," vintage bowling machines, the lumber trade, and more. It’s truly a hidden gem in the Muskegon area.

Must-see museum in Muskegon. We learned so much! It was really awesome seeing the HUGE steam-powered hydraulic machines. I've been an avid bowler since I was a kid, so of course I loved all of the Brunswick history.

We had a fantastic visit to this museum. Jim gave a wonderful tour and went above and beyond to make it a great experience! You would never guess by looking at the outside of the building how much is in there: a working steam engine, working bowling pin setter, player piano, and much much more!

Amazing place. Has 3 stories packed full of history and information. I could roam this place for hours. Maybe the greatest historical museum centered around industry in all of West Michigan. There’s also very nice people who work here.

The Muskegon Museum of History & Science, part of the Lakeshore Museum Center, is a family-friendly destination that has been showcasing the rich history of Muskegon County since 1937. The museum offers hands-on exhibits and educational programs for visitors of all ages. From exploring animal food webs to engaging in interactive activities at the STEM Center and Body Works, there are plenty of opportunities for kids to learn and have fun.
My kids (2 and 4) always have such a great time at this museum! It’s definitely more geared toward children, with plenty of hands-on activities to keep little ones engaged. I’ve noticed that older visitors sometimes seem caught off guard by the energetic atmosphere, as kids are often running around and exploring. That said, we’ve always had a fantastic experience — we’ve even met up with friends for playdates here. Plus, it’s free for Muskegon locals, which is a wonderful bonus. Highly recommend for families with young kids!

We loved the STEM rooms and learning about all the native animals. For the kids it's all about the interactive things.

Great exhibits about Muskegon's history and a good stem room. Love the ancient history of Michigan's environment on the basement level. Free for Muskegon residents.
Amanda R — Google review
Before anything else, I just want to say thank you for having the sensory bags available! They were the reason that we were able to visit your museum with our nephew in the first place. The kids did enjoy the museum overall, but felt that the activity rooms could use an upgrade if possible! Some of the available toys were simply aged or not as accessible as modern toys/usable artifacts. Curation wise, I definitely got the sense that the museum centred around Muskegon's history; however, I don't feel as compelled to re-visit as I do, say, comparable museums such as the UP Children's Museum or Science North in Ontario. Some possible improvements could be updating some of the displays to more accurately reflect the past twenty or so years, create more interactive displays, and perhaps come up with a more unique display to Muskegon itself. Plenty of other local museums feature similar information on WWII and the different ages of our planet, but is there something particularly different or important about Muskegon or the county that could be featured in a new display? Something like this would make me want to come back.
Natalie L — Google review
Smallish museum but well designed with a variety of high quality artworks including paintings, sculptures and special exhibits. The Christmas exhibit is like taking a step back in time with all sorts of vintage items. Definitely worth a visit.
Joe A — Google review
The Museum offered many hands-on things for kids to learn through, the Science room was a bit sparce due to people taking things I'm sure. The girls I took had a blast and that's what mattered most to me.

This is a must visit if you have littles. They hand two different hands on areas, along with interactive elements throughout the entire museum. Our son could've spent all day there. The staff was also super friendly, and we had a great time.

The Muskegon South Pierhead Lighthouse, built in the early 1900s, offers docent-led tours to the top for panoramic views. Climbing the 48-foot-tall ironclad tower provides a unique experience of traveling back in time. The lighthouse is open for tours from Memorial Day to Labor Day and visitors can walk out on the pier to get up close and personal with it.
Located near the bathroom building. Nice walk on the concrete/stone pier out to the old lighthouse. Not sure it's ever open to go in it. Closed when I was there. Wonderful views of the lake and the Pere Marquette beach. Also views of the newer lighthouse. Paid parking. Lots of parking but went late in the day.
Barry G — Google review
I was excited to visit this lighthouse until I realized how dangerous the path is, especially with kids. It starts off wide and then gets so narrow that you can barely fit two people side by side, let alone walk past someone coming the opposite way. The path has big, broken chunks so it could be easy to trip on an already dangerous walkway. I loved that it went way out. I wish there was at least a railing to feel more secure, especially with younger kids. It gets very windy out there. Its free, so there's no tickets to buy. The path is right next to The Deck restaurant. The lighthouse itself is very old with graffiti unfortunately on it.
Elizabeth J — Google review
The lighthouse can be accessed on foot from the U.S. Coast Guard station. It’s a short, easy walk along a wide, concrete-paved pier. The red paint of the lighthouse contrasts beautifully with the blue lake. I just wish it were less crowded. There is plenty of parking available, but payment is required.

Very old but functional light house. Unfortunately by the time we reach there, it was closed. We couldn’t find the timing info mentioned anywhere (or we might have missed it) but it closes at 5 PM (Update : this info is available on fb page) . Due to its condition, visitors cannot walk up to the top. (Heard it somewhere else) But walk towards it, is enjoyable due to view of the lake and water activities. Update: It seems the information I had earlier about 'not being able to climb or this being non functional, was misleading and one of the volunteers has responded below with correct information. Thank you for corrections.

Flea market
The Muskegon Farmers Market has made a successful move to downtown and is now managed by the City of Muskegon. It is the largest open-air market in West Michigan and features the Western Market Chalets, which are standalone micro pop-up shops with local vendors. The market is open weekly during spring, summer, and fall, offering a variety of seasonal farm-fresh produce, specialty food items, crafts, and more.
Plenty of stalls mostly hosted by individuals and small businesses selling not just farm produce but lots of other types of food, candles, arts and crafts, etc. Visiting on a holiday weekend it was though very busy.
Brian M — Google review
We enjoyed our visit and made many purchases of cheese, fruit, coffee, and donuts! The parking was easy and there were many vendors, all of them covered against rain. Bring cash- most of the vendors accepted credit card or tap to pay but some were only able to accept cash unfortunately. No dogs are allowed on site and there was a loud live band.
Patrick S — Google review
Went here on a gloomy Saturday, which also happened to be the same day as a Harley Davidson motorcycle festival across the street. The fire station next door also had their doors open to the community. There were lots of people and lots of vendors. We definitely picked one of the best days to go as the weather wasn’t too warm. This market has a nice variety of vendors and food trucks, everything from art, jewelry, baked goods, local meats, and vegetables.
Nabeel K — Google review
First time visiting on Saturday and was pleasantly surprised the market was so big! Great variety of items! I highly recommend checking it out! The vendors were all very welcoming and friendly! Will definitely return when in the area.
Janine H — Google review
Just. Sites off season on Oct 25 and I was pleasantly surprised by how big the market was. I daytripped from the Ann Arbor area, and our market is a lot more expensive. I got several stems of flowers for $1 per stem, a plant, and a few other things. Everything was much more affordable than Ann Arbor. Do bring cash, some of them only accept cash/checks or have a min of $10.
Megan K — Google review
I drive to the Muskegon Farmers market on Saturdays for Kaufman's produce. They are certified organic and actually grow the stuff they sell., Their produce is usually in better shape than the others, many who appear to simply buying from wholesalers, not growing themselves, and certainly not organic. Kaufman's prices are quite competitive with the others, yet certified organic! While at the market I occasionally wander over to laughing tree bakery for bread and scones made from organic flour. They could use less sugar on the scones, they are too Cookie like with all the sugar. Would also be nice if they would buy a gas oven to get their crusts under control 😊 the crusts are a bit tuff due to their brick oven, which I think they fire with wood. But still best in area, gotta go to whole foods for better.

Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park, located in Muskegon State Park, offers a range of outdoor activities for visitors of all ages. In the winter, guests can experience the thrill of luge on an 850-foot ice track or enjoy ice skating on a lighted trail through the woods. The park also features cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails. During the summer, a fiberglass luge track is available for those seeking adventure in warmer weather.
Absolutely Worth the Visit — So Much to Do! This was our first time visiting Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park in warmer weather and we had an amazing time! It’s the perfect place to spend the day with family, friends, or kids. There’s so much to do — we honestly didn’t want to leave. We started with zip lining, which was a blast. Dan and the team were fantastic — they made safety a priority and explained everything clearly, which made us feel comfortable and excited. Then we tried archery, and Tim was basically a sensei! He was such a great teacher that now we’re buying our own bows and setting up targets at home. The summer luge was fun — not quite the thrill of the winter luge, but still a really unique and exciting experience. Rock climbing was my daughter’s absolute favorite, and we loved all the lawn activities too: badminton, football, corn hole, and ping pong were all available and added to the fun. The park itself is beautiful — great for a hike or just relaxing in the forest. We decided to get a season pass and will absolutely be coming back. Huge thanks to the staff as well. I wasn’t feeling well at one point, and they were so kind and quick to help — they even brought an ATV to take me back down to the lodge so I didn’t have to walk. That kind of care makes all the difference. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy the outdoors and try something new.

This place was well worth the money! I went with my husband and 2 teen daughters and we had a great time! The guides were all amazing, super friendly and informative! We could have spent the whole day there with all the the activities but we left for lunch! Pack some food and take your time to enjoy it all!
Aimee P — Google review
Not worth the money in our opinion. Staff was great though. Zip line, they were very helpful to drive us up instead of walking up the 88 stairs. Did get to zip line twice, so that was nice. The wheel luge was extremely short, two turns and you are done. Had to carry our own luge carts (not light) uphill and stairs. If the luge luge was longer, would have been better. Other visitors trying to find their way in the trails, but is beautiful property. Would have liked a bit more for the money.
Kathleen C — Google review
The first for me and my husband zip lining and it was a great experience. I am glad my friend talked me to go. Thank you Dianne for making me go. I would recommend my family to go to the Muskegon Luge Adventure sports park. 😀

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ THIS IS WHAT I LIVE FOR. 😭💙 If I could give this place more than five stars, I would. Ten out of ten. A thousand out of ten. There are not enough stars to express what Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park gave me—not just an amazing day, but something soul-deep. Something life-affirming. Something I almost never find in this world as a physically disabled person who craves adventure. I’m not just someone who enjoys movement—I need it. I need the thrill of motion, the emotional release that comes from activity, the grounding that comes with pushing my body in whatever way I can. But finding places that understand that, that welcome that, and that actually provide safe, inclusive access to real adventure is nearly impossible. At Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park, I didn’t have to fight to be included—I already was. I didn’t have to prove myself, explain myself, or justify why I wanted to participate. No one looked at my wheelchair or support needs and paused. They looked at me and said: “Hell yes, let’s do it.” 🙌 And they meant it with their whole hearts. From the moment I arrived, the entire experience was seamless, welcoming, and filled with enthusiasm. Their adaptive setup is thoughtful, professional, and built into the core of what they do—not a side feature, not a half-effort, not a reluctant accommodation. It’s part of the core values of the park. That alone is worth shouting from the rooftops. Every single person on staff showed up with compassion, confidence, knowledge, and pure excitement. There was no awkwardness. No hesitation. No pity. Just celebration. Just joy. They saw me. They treated me with dignity, warmth, and enthusiasm. They didn’t ask if I could keep up—they made sure I could fly. 💙 Their 1400 ft. dual zip line—gliding from the top of a Lake Michigan sand dune and soaring through the forest—was one of the most electrifying, freeing, and healing things I’ve ever done. 🌲☀️💨 I’ve never experienced this level of inclusion and excellence anywhere else in the world. And I’ve traveled. I’ve tried. I’ve faced so many barriers, even in places that claimed to be accessible. But this place didn’t just meet the standard—they redefined it. Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park is hands-down the BEST business I’ve ever encountered for adaptive recreation. They deserve every honor, every grant, every spotlight, every ounce of praise. What they are doing is more than business—it’s a movement. It’s a model. It’s the future of what recreation should look like: accessible, thrilling, inclusive, human. They don’t just make space. They make belonging. They don’t just accommodate. They invite, empower, and celebrate. That kind of environment is revolutionary. I left feeling more like myself than I have in a long time. Not limited. Just me. Laughing. Soaring. Alive. 💫 So if you’re even remotely considering a visit—go. GO. GO. GO. Whether you’re disabled or not, whether you’re local or driving across the state—you will not regret it. The memories you’ll make here? They’re life-changing. To Daniel Bonner and the entire team at Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park: Thank you for giving me a day of joy. Thank you for giving me space without apology. Thank you for giving me permission to live boldly. And thank you for reminding me that my body is still capable of adventure, thrill, and belonging. I’ll be back. Again and again. This place is a treasure. And I will never stop recommending it to anyone and everyone I meet. 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Our family of 8 participated in the Ultimate Adventure Package Saturday, September 2025. First of all, the weather was perfect! On top of being friendly, fun, engaging, and patient, the entire staff had our safety in mind every step of the way! Each activity area was neat & clean. The staff provided a thorough explanation of each activity, and performed multiple safety checks at each, as well. We felt "safe" and knowledgable on what to anticipate!! The "office staff" was very helpful with registration and communication via email was thorough and timely! We are looking forward to returning next summer, but first, we plan to participate in the upcoming winter activities!!

Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park is an awesome place packed with fun all year round. The luge track in winter is thrilling yet safe — perfect for both beginners and adventure seekers. There are also ice skating trails, snowshoe paths, and a great family-friendly atmosphere. In summer, the zip lines and bike trails are an amazing way to enjoy the outdoors. The staff is friendly, helpful, and clearly passionate about what they do. Everything is well-maintained and organized. Definitely a must-visit spot for anyone who loves adventure and nature!

We had such a great time at Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park! The all-inclusive fall package was totally worth it — we did the luge, zip line, and archery, and every staff member was friendly and thorough. The archery instructor especially stood out for their patience and detail. Loved how accessible the park is too — even offering a wheelchair for rough terrain and help carrying gear. So, we didn’t listen to our friends and didn’t get there early enough to get a good spot. We ended up waiting for 45 minutes, but guess what? We ended up getting a great deal on some cool beach gear at the store! They even gave us a buzzer so we could walk on the beach while we waited. It was a super hot and sunny day, so we learned our lesson for next time: reserve a spot first or get there early. But the experience was still awesome! We could swing, eat, drink, or sit at a table. We did a little of everything. We watched the show from the top deck, and the band played a bunch of classic hits from different decades. It was a great addition to our amazing food. I had the chicken tender nachos, which were huge! I think every meal ordered by our group could have fed the whole table. The portion sizes are huge, so be prepared. Everything was delicious, though. I highly recommend it. The only downside was that it was hard to hear our waitress or each other with the music, but the service was great. She made sure we had a great time at the Deck.

First time here, and it wasn't the worst experience. The atmosphere of the beach deck & ground beach area was very nice. Heard live music with lunch & had a few drinks also. Food prices were ok, but could be better, food definitely was sub-par and tasteless. The big beef slider was dry & just kinda slapped together (as you could see in pic there) the hot honey slider was a dried out chicken tender. I had more bun than meat products. The summer sampler wasn't too bad, but just basic tortilla chips out of the bag, plus 4 sauces.I probably won't be back again due to this & some of the drinks being priced high also. Paid 5$ for a can of Miller Lite & 7$ for a can of Two hearted. The waitress was very nice tho & very attentive to us. Her customer service was right on, so shout out to Casi H. Ty Wish the bathroom upstairs was definitely bigger with more stalls since the place is so big & lots of foot traffic you'd think they'd want expand that somewhat due to do many people about. Four in our party total spent well over 100$ & was kinda disappointed overall.

This place checks all the boxes! Not ALL the food is amazing but what I got was!! The Dirty Nachos is where it’s AT! Atmosphere ✅ Service ✅ Food ✅ ❌Do not get the chopped brisket… it’s more like roast beef 👎 and massed produced And I’m sure the drinks are great, but I don’t like not get the Whiskey Peach Lemonade again, just tasted like lemonade.

Hello amazing beach front property that makes you think you’re in Florida but you’re not! We were so surprised to find this place on one of our stops up the coast that we had to stop and enjoy some amazing drinks and equally awesome live music. The weather was fantastic for September and this is permanently on the list of places to go back to. Locals have it good with this establishment. We didn’t have any food so cannot comment on that but all the staff seemed happy to be there!

We had an absolutely amazing experience thanks to our server, Chris J! From the moment we sat down, he was attentive and always nearby without ever being overbearing. He gave us thoughtful recommendations that ended up being spot-on, and he made sure we were totally satisfied with everything we ordered. Chris is extremely personable and relatable, he made us feel like we were genuinely being taken care of. He never rushed us, gave us plenty of time to make decisions, and checked in just the right amount to make sure everything was perfect. It was clear he really cared whether we were enjoying our food and drinks, and that made all the difference. The Deck is lucky to have someone like Chris on their team. He truly elevated our whole experience, and we’ll definitely be back!

The Hot Chick fries were outstanding and just like the picture. However, I was disappointed when I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich and it came out as Buffalo flavor which is not the same as Nashville Hot. I don't like buffalo flavor. Hank's Tavern, a sports bar owned by renowned restaurateur Hoby Thrasher in Muskegon, offers a sophisticated yet relaxed ambience. This establishment serves a combination of American and Mexican cuisine, with an emphasis on delectable bar fare. Start your meal with tantalizing appetizers such as hand-dipped onion rings or fresh guacamole accompanied by tortilla chips.
We were on a road trip and decided to give Hank’s Tavern a try after hearing good things about their gluten-free options. The vibe was super relaxed and welcoming. We sat on the patio, which was really charming with its covered area and pretty window planters full of flowers. The whole experience was great, and our server, Alex, was super sweet and attentive. I went with the gluten-free 1/2 pound BLT sandwich and a side salad with balsamic vinaigrette, while the Mr. opted for the gluten-free kickin' chicken sandwich with a side salad too. We both had Pepsi to drink. Honestly, that BLT was hands down the best I’ve had in a restaurant! The gluten-free bun was fluffy, perfectly toasted, and didn’t even taste gluten-free. The bacon was crispy, the mayo was just right, and the tomato slice covered the whole sandwich, so every bite was spot on. The salad was fine, but the vinaigrette could have used a bit more kick. I’m seriously still thinking about that BLT—I should’ve gotten one to-go! I highly recommend Hank’s Tavern. They’re fantastic at handling dietary restrictions, the food is delicious, and it’s a great place to sit back and enjoy your meal.

Hank’s was my absolute favorite place to dine! Recently had a bad experience. Celebrating our anniversary 8/26/25. Ordered the hobo special as I always do , ordered well done. Ate half at the restaurant and took the rest home for leftovers. As I began eating my leftovers and got towards the middle of the hamburger patty it was pink. I took photos , called the restaurant the next day and the manager said since I did not have the meat still there was nothing she could do as it was their policy. I informed her I had photos and she still offered nothing not even an apology initially. Never had an unpleasant experience until Now. The customer service experience was dissatisfying and handled poorly. I hope any customer concerns are handled better in the future. I don’t see myself dining there again considering the response from management.

Hank's Tavern is where it is AT in Muskegon. The food was amazing, fresh and hot. The server (Jessica) kept our drinks topped off and was very understanding of our Gluten Allergies. The GF bun was THE best I've ever had, didn't turn to mush and break apart like every other one I've ever eaten. I had the Turkey club on a GF bread with a Garden Salad and my hubby had the 50/50 burger with fries. Both of us greatly enjoyed our meal and will be back when we end up back on that side of the state. Thank you Hank's Tavern to making people with food allergies feel welcome and understood! Ya'll are onto something great!!

I know you're not fine dining but with no one waiting for a table, please don't bring my bill down halfway through eating my dinner. And moving my empty plate so you have room to serve a cocktail should be the clue to remove the used plate altogether. 5 trips to see if I had put out my credit card and never take a dirty dish with you. A little better service would have really improved your tip.

Found this place on a cloudy, windy day while delaying heading over to the nearby amusement park. Cute little beach with a picnic area on one side and a dog park on the other. Boardwalk of sorts connecting the two above where the beach wanders. Be warned of the numerous stairs if you choose to go that route, I think the view is worth it. My kids may not have agreed so much.

Experience the rich history of the SS Milwaukee Clipper, one of Michigan's most renowned and oldest passenger ships on the Great Lakes. This historic vessel, which predates the Titanic, is now permanently docked in downtown Muskegon and open for tours. Immerse yourself in its fascinating past as you explore state rooms, a movie theater, a dance floor, and an ice cream parlor during its ongoing restoration process.
Great Fun, Very Interesting, Really Nice Museum, Very Reasonably Priced, Absolutely Love The Soda Bowl, the Malts are Amazing!! The People have done an amazing job of restoring that beautiful Ship!!
Craig F — Google review
Had a lovely breakfast served by the clipper's volunteers for Memorial Day. It's always great to see people so enthusiastic. I must come back for a proper tour someday, but the "Soda Bowl" Cafe was a nostalgic treat.
Tracey-Anne C — Google review
Been meaning to swing by here for a while and finally made it in. Lots of great details on the ship. Lots of original furniture and dining booths. The tour is self guided with a pamphlet. Weekends it would be busier and they have a little ice cream area that only operates on weekends also. They do have special events and there is a dance floor. On Sunday's they will give tours of the engine area. This ship has quite a history and I would recommend a visit here.
Robin D — Google review
What a delightful afternoon! It was an impromptu break during a long drive so we didn't know what to expect. The knowledgeable guide educated us about the fascinating history of the ship (it is older than the Titanic!) as well as the general industries around the Great Lakes. Several places have been restored to original. It was like stepping back in time. The hour long tour was well worth the cost of admission.
Heather S — Google review
Very interesting ship to see both what it was like and what time does to a ship. A bulletin explains the history of the ship and gives directions for the tour. If you are planning to enjoy some ice cream like we were, call ahead to make sure it's happening. It's all-volunteer, so it may be happening, and it may not. Lots of good places nearby for ice cream. Here's a summary of the ship's history from the organization's website: Commissioned in 1904 by the Erie & Western Transportation Company, the steamer JUNIATA was a luxurious 361-foot passenger and package freight vessel built for service on the Great Lakes. Powered by a rare 3,000 horsepower Quadruple Expansion steam engine, she accommodated 350 passengers in first-class comfort with elegant mahogany interiors, fine cuisine, and grand architectural features. Operating between Buffalo and Duluth, she served for over three decades until 1937, when stricter safety regulations required her retirement due to her wooden superstructure. In 1940, the JUNIATA was purchased and transformed into the S.S. MILWAUKEE CLIPPER, featuring a fireproof steel superstructure, air-conditioned staterooms, and modern amenities like a movie theater and dance floor. She served as a passenger and auto ferry between Muskegon and Milwaukee from 1941 to 1970, with continued use during World War II and year-round service through the early 1960s. After several ownership changes and relocations, she was recognized as a National Historic Landmark and eventually returned to Muskegon in 1997 by a preservation group dedicated to restoring the historic steamer to its former glory.

I stopped by to visit the ship and was very impressed by the museum. I did not have time to tour the whole ship but I look forward to revisiting in the near future. The staff was very kind and informative. This is a great stop for anyone interested in Great Lakes, nautical, or commercial transportation history.
Bret D — Google review
Took a step back in time with a self guided tour with so much history. It was easy to navigate with areas being blocked off so you can find your way across multiple decks. I met the curator, Ray (I believe that was his name...i'm bad remembering names), and he shared so many great facts about the Clipper, including his personal stories. The Soda Bowl was a nice treat to have in the middle of the tour. Our family of six had a great time!
EMBPL4 — Google review
I stopped here at the Milwaukee Clipper with my mom, and it was an interesting experience (in a good way). We always come over on the Lake Express, and we wanted to finally tour the ship, so we gave it a try. The service was great onboard, the actual tour was informative, and the price was not bad either. First, the service. All of the volunteers working at the Milwaukee Clipper were kind, passionate, and informative. You could tell they were interested about the vessel, and it made for an enjoyable experience. The only gripe I have with the Clipper is the spotty availability. For a Friday, the hours are 1-5pm and the gate is supposed to be open, so we get to the attraction and it was closed with a posted phone number to call. We called the phone number and it wasn’t even the Milwaukee Clipper that answered. So, that was an interesting miscommunication. My Rating for this Category: 4/5 Second, the tour itself. The tour was fabulous, and the tour guide takes you all around the vessel, explaining everything in detail in the process. Their enthusiasm was appreciated, and she always made you want to know more. The tour took about 40 minutes which was plenty of time. My Rating for this Category: 5/5 Finally, the price. My mom and I paid about $12/piece, and for a 40 minute tour of an extremely historical boat, we found the price to be reasonable. There are other pricing rates available depending on various circumstances. Also, with the great customer service, we had no complaints here. My Rating for this Category: 5/5 The next time that I am in the Muskegon area with friends or family between Wednesday and Sunday, I would have no reservation taking them on the Milwaukee Clipper. The great tour with great service and a nice price makes this a no-brainer when in the Muskegon area. So, I have no reservation recommending the Milwaukee Clipper tour to anyone’s

Went here for dance force xpress nationals. Beautiful theatre. I wish we had more like this one. Vintage yet up to date. Clean both inside and out. Conveniently located in a nice architectural area of buildings with plenty of places to eat. Make sure to take a walk around the whole area so you dont miss anything.

Echoes of Pink Floyd did an excellent job. Their performance brought a lot of great memories back. Will definitely see again and highly recommend. This theater is great as well. Lots of activities and events (including free). Sarah, front of house lead, was awesome as well. She did a great job in helping with a rowdy guy.

Beautiful theater with kind staff! We appreciate the free kid's movies! A worker responded quickly to clean up a child’s throw-up, though they accidentally missed the correct spot. A volunteer dismissed my polite mention of it entirely, but overall, it was likely an oversight in communication, and at least the clean-up attempt was quick! It would have been sanitary, too, if it hadn't taken place in the dark. The worker was patient with the process and didn't seem troubled one bit, at least. If I didn't read between the lines, I might have assumed the volunteer, and therefore, theater didn't care about health and safety at all based on the volunteers reaction. We were pleased with everything in general and had a really great time! Thanks, Fraunthal! 🙏

Aquastar Cruises offers a unique way to experience Muskegon from the tranquil waters of Lake Michigan. Whether it's a sunset cruise or a special event, the friendly staff ensures an enjoyable time on board. While enjoying the beautiful views and recorded music, guests can also take advantage of amenities such as restrooms and refreshments. In case of any inconvenience, the company goes above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction by offering alternative options and discounts for future cruises.
Aquastar is amazing! From the owner to the entire staff, the service is more than exceptional. Great location, several cruise options and special events, some with live music or a DJ. The dock and boat are clean and very well maintained. My wife and I have been on a few cruises at different times and it's been a new adventure each time. We always have an exciting experience. Taking in the views of Muskegon Lake and out on Lake Michigan is breathtaking, especially the sunset cruise.(Our favorite!) There is a well stocked cash bar on board with snacks and beverages for the kids and the adults. They also do a lot for the area communities. We did a fundraiser cruise for Special Olympics last year and it was a great success, Shout out to Patrick and his staff for helping us pull this off. We had a couple raffles and 50/50's and Aquastar gave a percentage of the ticket money back to our cause! They also gave a captain's hat to all of the Special Olympic Athletes who attended. That speaks volumes for the kindness and integrity of this company. We are so grateful for that. Hoping to do another fundraiser later this year. Much warmer than the Polar Plunge event we always do. Haha! Thank You again Aquastar Cruises! Keep up the great work! Definitely will (and have) recommend you to everyone!

Highly recommend. We had the best little happy hour cruise! Perfect start to a fun evening with friends. The band was fine & the bartender was slow, but it added to the charm! We went to The Deck after our cruise and ended up seeing the sunset cruise later, which spent more time on Lake Michigan and looked absolutely beautiful! 🤩 We plan to book again and check that out.
Karen W — Google review
We had a great time on the boat. Of course it always helps when the weather is perfect, which it was, and the water was smooth enough that we were able to grow out on Lake Michigan. It was a completely enjoyable day. The crew was friendly and efficient, and was happy to take pictures for anybody who requested it. There are a lot of different seating choices, including tables upstairs and downstairs, row seating and even individual chairs which can be arranged (within reason) however you want. The downstairs is completely enclosed, so if weather isn’t good, there is still a place to sit and enjoy the cruise, but the upstairs has an open area in the front and then open air with a cover over it toward the back. So you can be without cover at all, partial cover, or completely covered. Parking was easy, with a lot right by the boat, and there’s a building you can wait in with seating until it’s time to board. There is a snack bar on board with beverages that only take credit or debit cards. Overall, it was 100% enjoyable experience. We were a party of five women, all senior citizens, and some with moderate mobility challenges, and everybody was able to climb the stairs fine, and not have any problems getting on or off the boat. There were all ages and families and anybody would enjoy this tour.

While planning out vacation, I found Aquastar cruises and knew that was something we had to do. They did not disappoint! The ship was really clean, they have a bar and with snacks on board. Everyone on board was really friendly. We took the sunset cruise and the views were absolutely incredible. It was cloudy so the sun wasn't completely visible, but just before the sun set completely, the clouds moved and we had the most beautiful view! If you are in the area, I would highly recommend the sunset cruise.
Heather S — Google review
I recently went on a sunset cruise with a few friends. We had a lovely time on the boat and the sunset was beautiful. I appreciated that the boat had a bar where I could enjoy a drink with our cruise. The best part was enjoying the songs played by an awesome musician onboard. He sang great songs and made the whole trip even more enjoyable.
Carolyn R — Google review
Purchased sunset cruise tickets for my parents 70th Anniversary. They loved it! 🛳 Everyone was amazing. The crew making sure they were enjoying themselves, getting them drinks, helping them down the stairs and even walked them to their car at the end of the cruise. Thank you Aquastar for making this a special memory.❤️🛳

We’ve absolutely loved working with Aquastar Cruises here at the White Lake Area Chamber & Visitors Bureau! For the past four years, they’ve brought their beautiful vessel up to White Lake for a full day of White Lake History Cruises—three back-to-back sailings each time—and every year they’ve been great to work with. Their crew is professional, friendly, and committed to creating a memorable experience for everyone on board. Whether you’re booking a private event or hopping on one of their summer cruises out of the Mart Dock in Muskegon, you’re in for a great time. Highly recommend!

The Lake House Waterfront Grille and Event Center is a stylish eatery located on the shores of Lake Muskegon, offering a casual and unpretentious ambiance, delicious seasonal cuisine, and spectacular views. In the summer, guests can enjoy al fresco lakeside dining on the beautiful deck and outdoor bar, while in winter, they can savor a romantic dinner next to the cozy fireplace.
The calamari was delightfully light and seasoned with accompaniment. I enjoyed my first perch dinner that held nice light breading.

The lake house was so beautiful and delicious! I was looking for where to take my family for a nicer dinner on the 4th and this did not disappoint. The atmosphere was amazing, they had nice music playing in the background and it almost sounded live. Our server Brandon was very kind and gave lot of attention despite the restaurant being more crowded. Food took a little while to get to us, but everything tasted delicious! I especially loved the raspberry sorbet — very refreshing!

This restaurant is located in a very beautiful area. It’s designed for great indoor and outdoor dining with beautiful views of the lake and boats with a lovely viewing deck. The staff are excellent and very attentive. The food is good but could be better. We have been here on three occasions and the food can vary. I guess it depends on the day and who’s cooking. We ordered simple this time. The crab cake appetizer with a jalapeño bacon jam and slaw. The jam was incredible. The cakes should have been fried. They tasted maybe microwaved or baked. We both ordered burgers, which were prepared as requested but very dry, no seasoning. The bun was toasted, my husband had a hearty amount of fries, but paid extra for fries because the burger came with chips. I wanted a salad instead of chips and that was extra! We paid over $70 for two burgers an appetizer with 3 crabcakes and a pop! My husband did have a pop. I will say the rolls brought out while we waited were good. They were basil flavored rolls, with a garlic and basil butter. I guess we’re mostly paying for the view and service! We were celebrating our 44th wedding anniversary!

We went to The Lake House for the first time with our best friends, for our wedding anniversaries. The setting is right on the lake, next to the marina, which is nice. My initial impressions were that the restaurant was clean, but felt a bit dated; like being ushered back in time to an 80s/90s movie, which my wife really liked. I felt like The menu was kind of small and the prices a bit high. Our food was very good, but our friends said the gnocchi had way too much sauce on it and the broccoli was overcooked. Our server, Bradley (I think) was phenomenal. We had the best time with him and he attended to our every need. He even hooked us up with free desserts for our anniversaries, which were amazing! We live about an hour away, so I don't think I'd ever drive that far again just to go there, but if you're in the area, it's worth checking out.

I can’t rate the food as I couldn’t get service. We were seated immediately, a waiter and waitress were working the booths in front and behind us but missed us somehow for over twenty minutes. As she passed, I tried to get her attention but was ignored.

Very nice restaurant right by the lake and look into the marina! Great selection of wine and beer with great lunch and dinner menu! Most impressive thing is the kitchen or chief can twist or alter the dish to your liking which was amazing! We have our perch cooked the we like and they accommodate it! Five stars just for that!

Restaurant
The Station Grill, located in Muskegon, is a unique dining destination housed in a former 1940s gas station. This quirky restaurant is known for its acclaimed gourmet burgers and Tex-Mex-inspired dishes, including award-winning chili. The compact dining room exudes a retro vibe and offers a fun and entertaining experience for guests. Since 1972, this locally owned establishment has been serving mouthwatering menu items and ice-cold beer to patrons.
Always a pleasure to have a meal at the Station. There is a reason why they have been around for such a long time. Any given day and time, they are packed to the gills. You can always tell who the regulars are just based on how the staff speak with them. They know each other by name, catch up on news about family and there are many regulars. I am not one as I live a bit further, but my family and I are always treated well and staff are always attentive. The food is excellent. I am a BIG fan of the buffalo chicken sandwich. My family are burger fans and they tell me the burgers never disappoint. The decor is more of an old school style diner/restaurant. The environment is casual, loud (when busy), and comfortable.Family friendly - great environment for young ones (maybe not kids that are sensitive to noise).

Awesome place! That 'Vette on the wall could be a '74; I once had one and still think it's the greatest body ever made. We ordered a large Buffalo Chicken Nacho Supreme, thinking we'd probably order more food later. They kindly split it in two without us asking, and it was so big that we didn't need anything else. So it ended up being a cheap meal for two that we both really enjoyed.

The food here was absolutely delicious, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. I really loved the experience. We were originally seated at a table for two, but one of the male staff members kindly and politely offered to move us to a table for four — it was such a thoughtful gesture and made us really happy. Thank you so much for the great service!

Having asked a co-worker about a different place to get food from for lunch break, I found myself at The Station - cool place! They graciously took my order the last 25 minutes or so that they were open and I really appreciate that - we try to get our breaks in earlier during shifts and aren't always successful and able to eat. I loved the fries and the nachos I got were unique. Thank you for being in business!

Fatty Lumpkins Sandwich Shack is a lively and vibrant eatery nestled in a bustling neighborhood. This small deli in downtown Muskegon offers an array of generous classic and innovative sandwiches, as well as salads. The menu features creatively named options like the Patty McFatty, which combines corned beef, pastrami, baby Swiss, and homemade coleslaw on light rye bread.
My son and I had the Fatty, my wife had the Italian and it has been by far the best sandwiches we've ever had. A local recommended the place to us and they were spot on the money with this place. Highly recommend and the staff were super awesome as well.

It’s not often I 5 star a restaurant/deli. This one was earned. The staff were super friendly. I had the pastrami sandwich and it’s the best I’ve had since the one I had at Carnegie Deli in NYC several years ago. The sides were also very good. Pricing was higher than average, but I’m very willing to pay it considering the staff and quality of the product produced. Well done!

I’ve been coming here for years and they’ve never let me down. Service is consistently kind, everything is fresh, and you can tell they care about the details. Today’s standout was the chicken noodle soup. The touch of dill took it from good to unforgettable. It’s easily the best soup I’ve ever had. If you’re on the fence, do yourself a favor and give this place a try. Highly recommended.

We had the Italian sub and roast beef (we split) and both were excellent. The service was fast and presentation was great. The cashier also talked us through the menu and made helpful suggestions. This is a gem that should be protected at all costs!

Fatty Lumpkins is hands down one of the best lunch spots in Muskegon! We tried the K.C.’s Kickin’ Chicken and the Hammy Some Salami, and both sandwiches were incredible. The Kickin’ Chicken had just the right amount of spice with the buffalo chicken, provolone, and veggies balanced perfectly by the creamy ranch—flavorful without being overwhelming. The Hammy Some Salami was stacked with quality meats, fresh toppings, and a great crunch from the peppers and onion. Both came on fresh bread that really made the sandwiches stand out. The portions were generous, prices were fair, and you can tell everything is made with care. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and service was fast and friendly. If you’re looking for a fresh, delicious sandwich in Muskegon, Fatty Lumpkins is the place to go.
Chad — Google review
My husband and I were in town staying at an Airbnb with adult daughter, her husband and daughter. We kept reading great reviews various platforms about Fatty Lumpkins. We wanted to go our first day but it was after 3:00 pm and they were already closed. So we arranged to go a different day. Parking was difficult as it's a small place with mainly street parking with a lot of houses around. But there's a parking lot across the street and down that we parked in. I think it's allowed, we weren't ticketed or towed. When we walked in it was a tiny "shack" just got ordering and a few tables for eating but it was full with very little room. We figured we were obviously getting our sandwiches to go. We had just come from a museum so I needed to wash my hands and there was a sign pointing me to a restroom. Wow, am I glad I needed to wash my hands. Through the door I was led to another building which had lots of seating, was super cute and quaint complete with a chest set and jukebox. Plus the restroom. Between the two buildings there were a few outdoor tables and chairs too. Obviously it's just the newbies who don't know these things but if you are like us and only in town for a quick trip or first time visit, it's nice to know these things. The sandwiches were all good. A great variety to choose from and an option to create your own. The names are fun too. The meat and cheese were fresh and the sandwich bread/bun was some of the best I've had for a sandwich in a long time. I love vinegar and oil on a sandwich and that's how they make theirs. Oh, so good. Now I know why they came so highly recommended.
Posh L — Google review
I recently watched some great reviews of Fatty Lumpkins, decided to visit and they definitely lived up to those reviews! They have a couple smaller buildings and are located kind of on the edge of where residential meets commercial which automatically gave it a more homey feel to it. The owners and staff are quite friendly and engaging with customers and the menu was a bit more focused on doing a few things and doing them well.... at least based off the food I ordered! I highly recommend this place if you're ever in Muskegon and looking for a locally owned establishment

It houses an extensive collection of firefighting artifacts such as call boxes, ladders, hooks, hose carts, and a LaFrance Fire Truck. The upper floor showcases uniforms, photographs, and a replica of fire fighters' sleeping quarters. Sponsored by Charles H. Hackley, this museum offers a glimpse into the city's firefighting history and the evolution of firefighting equipment.
Definitely check this place out along with the tour of the Hackley and Hume homes. It's all part of the ticket price and so interesting!

What a wonderful small museum depicting firefighting history. We took our 3 year old grandson, who is currently very much into firetrucks. He had the opportunity to sit on a very old firetruck, as well as seeing where the firefighters slept, bathed, and ate. He thought the chamber pots under the bed were a funny object, especially as we explained to him the use of the pots. Outside the museum were two wonderful ladies that gave our little one a basket so that he could gather eggs and put them into an egg carton to sell. They also showed him how clothing was washed before the invention of the modern day washing machine. Beside the museum was a historical home that was open to walk through and learn a bit about its occupants from the past. All in all a wonderful time! I recommend if looking for something to do while in Muskegon, put this little gem on your "to visit" list. *Tickets are inexpensive but must be purchased at the Hackley and Hume Historic site (worth the visit as well) around the corner from the museum.

These historical landmarks are amazing and a must see. To be able to walk through them. With only a couple areas roped off. Because of because of items that are staged You are given a complete tour of the first floor and second floor of these houses. Please note this is no longer free. To get tickets, we had to go one block, hackley/ Hume Carriage barn. I believe you can get tickets for the firehouse and depression House next door separately, but we opted to get the full tour of the Hackley house and Hume house tour, which also included the firehouse and depression house. It was well worth the time in the cost. This was an amazing tour and well worth the time. To be able to walk through each house into each room, paintings and wood craftings of the time. To listen to the events that took place in these homes and what these families have met to the Muskegon area is amazing in itself. For the craftsmanship of these homes I would say there's no other that I've seen.

As a +20yr FF from TX, this the best preserved "1900 era" firehouse I've ever seen. I'm not aware of anything comparable in the US. Simply amazing. The preservation is superb. A true national gem. It should be on the US National Register. The staff was very friendly.

Not much to the fire barn, but still interesting. Definitely take this tour as part of Hackley and Hume homes.

I love going inside the Fire Barn and looking at how things used to be at the fire department. It is set up so the public can walk through it and see how the fire dept used to be set up and an upstairs displaying the living place for the firemen. It even has a public restroom. Very cool place to visit if you happen to be in Downtown Muskegon.

Took the grands to the fire barn on monday 7/18. Susan was our guide. What a blessing! She had all 3 kids engaged and interested the whole.time..not an easy job! They talked about the fire barn over dinner and the campfire that night. They learned more than I thought they did!!

Fun free Fire Museum. The kids enjoyed but there isn't a ton for them to do. Great place for a short stop and some firefighter history.

Drive-in movie theater
Getty Drive-In is a classic 50s-style drive-in theater in Muskegon, offering four screens showing double features with in-car sound and a vintage concession stand. It has been a popular destination for couples and families since it opened, maintaining its nostalgic charm with a creepy old game room. While some miss the old window speakers, the digital sound and picture quality are fantastic after the upgrade. The drive-in provides an authentic old-school American cultural experience.
If you're looking for that nostalgic, all-American summer experience, Getty Drive-In on Getty Street delivers every single time. The moment you roll in, there's a feeling of stepping back in time—in the best way possible. The layout is easy to navigate, with four massive screens showing double features, so there's always something for everyone: action, horror, family flicks, or comedies. The staff is always friendly and efficient, especially during busy nights. The concessions stand has solid options: buttery popcorn, nachos, and classic movie candy—fair prices and quick service. The sound through the FM radio is surprisingly crisp, and the screens are bright and clear even from the back rows. What makes Getty special is the vibe: families with lawn chairs, couples curled up in blankets, kids laughing between movies. It's pure summer magic. Whether you're here for date night or family fun, this place never disappoints. Just bring bug spray, arrive early for the best spots, and settle in for a beautiful night of cinema under the stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) A Muskegon tradition that’s still going strong. Long live the drive-in! 👆👇🐥🥰⚡⚡💙😗😉.

I was looking forward to giving this a great review because we enjoy going to drive-ins so much. But one small slip can make a big difference. We went Monday night to watch Twisters and everything was great until the climatic final where things are settled. While people were being blown about, water tower tumbling, the sound had change to soft music that just didn't match the destruction. And it just kept going! Finally I went and told the concession stand that someone hit the wrong switch on screen 1 sound. It was fixed quickly then but not soon enough. Little things make big impressions.
Bradford K — Google review
Great place, no drama, a playground up in front of movie screen so you can entertain littles. Lots of snacks. You can rent a radio or use yours. & if you're car battery dies the theater employees jump your veichal. Lots of memories from childhood too. Sentimental place for me. Definitely plan on returning soon.

This place rocks! I love that there is a drive-in theater in West Michigan. It is everything that you dreamed of and more. First off, you get to pick where you want to park. The spaces aren't very big, but there is plenty of room for a normal-sized vehicle. There are multiple screens, and back-to-back movies on each. The screens are plenty big, and I doubt there is a bad spot to park in the whole place. In the center of all the screens, there is a small building where you can get your popcorn, candy, and drinks, and there are also bathrooms there as well. The only downside to coming here is that it's often quite late when your movie finishes. Starting at dusk in the middle of summer when it doesn't get dark until 10 is a sticky situation. Love it - can't wait to go back!
Marianne G — Google review
From the moment we rolled in, smiling staff set the stage for a visit that felt warm, easy, and fun. Every hello and every thank-you carried genuine friendliness—start to finish. The space was sparkling clean, the atmosphere light and delightful, and the vibe unmistakably family-friendly. The service was timely, and the whole experience reminded us why little details matter so much. Thank you, Getty’s—until next visit!
Grace W — Google review
The prices are great, there's a lot of parking with plenty of space between vehicles, and the spaces can fit two vehicles. There's a decent variety of options on concession stand menue, but they need to work on there walking tacos. We ordered 2 walking tacos and they were all meat and fritos. There was hardly any lettuce and they were realllll stingy with the the shredded cheese, who puts shredded cheese on walking tacos?. Other than that the experience is great.
Ksia91 — Google review
Getty Drive In is a total blast from the past. Awesome screens, super friendly staff, and a fantastic time reliving the good ol' days of drive-in movies with my wife. The nostalgic experience was fun, but the radio signal for the movie audio was a bit fuzzy. Despite that, I'd totally recommend it - the pros outweigh the cons. 4 stars!

The best drive in experience and amazing prices. Don't recommend their walking tacos though. They put shredded cheese on fritos instead of nacho cheese.. who does that?! Lol.

I attended a Baker College Graduation here. I've never been because I'm from Flint, MI. It's a nice Arena. It was to small for this graduation 🎓 commencement though. People stood around the top wall for the entire ceremony. And to acknowledge that many grads I'm glad it wasn't me. They, the arena could have unlocked the private cages that are around the top so that these folks could sit at the bar stools that was a shame no one thought of it. It was interesting that they allowed grads guest to sit in the extra seats on the main floor. That was good but I believe these folks just took it upon themselves to go sit down somewhere. The staff on the main floor accommodated I thought that was a positive. I'm sure they realized the situation. It was a wonderful day and visit. Thank you for being a part. Muskegon was beautiful. Loved this town.

I have been attending games, shows, and concerts here for many years, back to the time it was known as the L.C. Walker Arena. Its a good venue to catch a game or a concert. It has always been a venue I have enjoyed over the years and will continue to attend games or shows there in the future.

Muskegon Lake is a 4,232-acre freshwater coastal plain estuary that offers a variety of outdoor activities. Visitors can enjoy hiking, fishing, and boating in the area. During the summer months, trolley services are available around both Lake Michigan and Muskegon Lake. The proximity to award-winning beaches makes it ideal for bringing bicycles along to explore the numerous bike trails in the city and throughout the county.
Not sure why you would got to Muskegon lake when you can go to lake Michigan but the views are great.
Brock B — Google review
This lake has a lot to offer. There are fish to be caught from many species. From gills, perch, bass, walleye, and pike are a few of the common species that are often targeted. If you can time it right in the fall you can fish for salmon as they start their journey from Lake Mi to the mighty Mo as the locals refer to as Muskegon River. This offers the fishermen with a smaller boat to battle a salmon on the end of the rod. Along with fishing, Muskegon lake can be a great lake to take the sailboat out and “catch a breeze”. With it’s location so close to Lake Mi. there is usually a good breeze to tame your skills on a sailboat.Beware of the shallow area with rocks in the center of the lake towards the west end of the lake. This could be easier to run into if you are boating at night and not familiar with this location. With the size of the lake there is usually plenty of room for everyone to enjoy the water. Even the room for the Lake Express to slide on through as well. If you are just boating through to head out to lake Mi. or spending the day on the lake, there is plenty to do for everyone here.

Some of the best service I’ve experienced in a long time! The staff worked seamlessly as a team and genuinely seemed happy to be there, which created such a positive and welcoming atmosphere. It really set the tone for a great day. While the breakfast menu was a bit on the smaller side, every item we tried was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Sometimes a limited menu just means they focus on doing each dish really well—and that was definitely the case here. Highly recommend for a cheerful morning out!

Stopped here for breakfast on our way out of town after hearing it was a great breakfast spot from some locals . Have to say it they were on point . The atmosphere is typical diner which we love . Simple menu with breakfast and lunch items that are all reasonably priced . Our server was great and the food came out quickly despite the place being packed . My wife ordered her eggs over medium which most places cannot get right , Carmen's kitchen cooked them to perfection ! Son ordered the French toast and it was probably in the top 5 best French toast I have ever tasted . The bread was not flat and soggy like most french toast but fluffy and full of flavor. It didn't even need the syrup ! Would definitely stop back by if we are ever in the area again .

This cozy venue, known as US 31 Bar-B-Q, serves slow-cooked meat and traditional Southern sides. With a long-standing presence in the area, it holds nostalgic value for many locals. The menu is simple and displayed under plexiglass on the table, making it quick to decide what sandwich you want. Despite its small size, the restaurant efficiently delivers your order within minutes. The staff is welcoming and accommodating to first-time visitors.
Talk about unique roadfood, this is it! One of a kind old school BBQ. The food was absolutely delicious, the setup inside is very much like a diner (even the snappy quick service with a smile) the menu is very simple, there's maybe about 10 things, but its mainly about sliced barbeque beef, pork & ham. Since I had the option to get all three on one sandwich I did! They have a very unique coleslaw relish based barbecue sauce then I've never experienced anywhere else. The prices are not to be believed, it's really inexpensive.
Burton F — Google review
Ate 10 BBQ sandwiches, crushing a recently broken record that stood for a long time. - BBQ Sandwiches - $4.85: They offer pork, beef, and ham. My favorite was ham. I ordered 8 pork, 1 ham, and 1 beef. The bun is a store bought bun of medium quality (Pepperidge?). The meat is thinly sliced shavings. The relish makes their sandwich unique. The relish has cabbage crushed very small and has a great texture. It is mixed with a BBQ sauce that is of medium sweetness. - Service: Their secret sauce is a very pleasant staff! Our experience there was stellar. The waitress was very positive and helpful. The kitchen staff who came to watch this crazy person break a record were very supportive and cheerful. This is as mom-and-pop shop as you can get. - Atmosphere: Small sit down diner. There are about six booths seating four each and ten bar stools at the front counter. It was very clean. - Conclusion: If you are in Muskegon, you have to visit them once if you like BBQ sandwiches. They are super cheerful. Visited on a Saturday at 1pm.

I recently visited US 31 Bar-B-Q and was absolutely blown away! Forget everything you think you know about traditional shredded or slabs of BBQ – here, they thinly slice all their meats, and it makes such a difference in texture and flavor. Topped with their homemade coleslaw, every bite was pure perfection. Beyond the incredible taste, finding a BBQ meal of this quality for under $10 is practically unheard of these days. It's truly insane value for money. The food is consistently great, and the unique preparation sets them apart.
Parker B — Google review
Update Sept 2022: the prices have increased by a modest $0.20 in 3 years on pork bbq, and equally modest increases on the other offerings. U.S. 31Barbque is one of 3 local food cravings I satisfy upon returning to Muskegon after long absences. I prefer the pork sandwiches, but ham and beef, as well as combos are also available. The various pies are highly rated, but I can only speak of the Baklava, its a great way to finish your meal. The meats are prepared on premises, and the sauce/relish is unique. After many decades eating here it never grows old.
Tom R — Google review
It was cold and wet by this point in the day, so we wanted soup. This place had chili, so we went here. Chili was actually pretty good. Not very spicy by any means, and had meat and beans. I'm definitely a beans in chili kind of person. Liked their fries too. Honestly, I'm more rounding this up to a 5 because their prices are so low. That was a solid bowl of chili without spending much money.
Eaglewing13 — Google review
This is a nice little reastraunt with good food I had a beef sandwich and I liked how they put corn in it. I also enjoyed the chilli it was hot but it didn't burn. It was a clean store with nice design.
Daniel G — Google review
Always a great experience. It's best to go in, knowing what to expect. The building is a small diner type place. The BBQ is a relish based sauce, not the brownish red sauce many equate to BBQ. It is sandwiches, made with piled up, thinly sliced Beef, Pork and Ham, (either or combination of them) that is smoked onsite. The food is delicious, but can tend to be messy, so you might not want to wear your best clothes, or eat carefully. They also have fries, drinks and dessert. They are not open late, only until 7pm, and closed Sun.

Yum Yum Sushi offers a diverse menu with three distinct items that received varying ratings. The Yum Yum roll, receiving the highest rating of 5 stars, is praised for its delightful combination of flavors and textures, featuring spicy crab, sweet mayo, crispy crumbs, and tender rice. On the other hand, the Rainbow roll is considered good but unremarkable, earning a steady 4 stars.
I ordered General Tso's and Pad Thai. The General Tso's chicken was VERY good and you can tell it was REAL chicken breast. The fried rice was bland and didn't taste like fried rice. I didn't care for the pad Thai as the noodles were too soggy. Lol the broccoli I added to the pad Thai dish tasted good in the sauce though. Will definitely give this place another try.

Decided upon this place while in town staying at an Airbnb not far from here. It was myself, my husband, our adult daughter, her husband and their young daughter. We knew nothing about the place other than reading about a few good reviews both on here and on Reddit. When we walked in we were all a little surprised it was an order and take type place. There are a few tables, but you order like a take out/fast food place. We didn't want to leave since we were there, all very hungry and wanted sushi and the reviews were good. The weather was good so we decided we would get our food and eat on the deck at our Airbnb. We ordered and waited. The service was quick and there were chairs to wait. It was our daughter's birthday and she was wearing a tiara saying so. The gentleman at the register was very friendly and helpful, both with ordering and with celebrating her birthday by giving complimentary Ramune. We got 11 sushi rolls and the price was INCREDIBLE! And the taste was SO GOOD!! I wish I could go back! If ever in town again, it will be the first place I go. Everyone loved it, even the 4 year old granddaughter. I wish I had gotten pictures, we ate it too fast.

I ordered 3 items and they all would get different ratings. Yum Yum roll gets 5 stars. Spicy crab and the sweet mayo and the crispy crumbs and the tender rice. Great balance of taste and texture. Rainbow roll was good. Nothing out of the ordinary. It's a simple, boring roll, but steady - 4 stars. The tuna sashimi was at best 3 stars. Portion was huge, but the texture was like it got frozen and defrosted. Just a little mushy. Also, when you eat this last, there's the law of diminishing returns too. Definitely worth visiting again. No indoor dining though so all take out which was a bit of a bummer too.

CJ was our waitress and she was absolutely amazing—super friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. The whole staff was great and attentive. Everyone was welcoming and the service was top-notch from start to finish. They’ve got a new menu and everything we tried was seriously delicious. The Wedding Crasher cocktail was a favorite—so good! The pasta primavera, walleye, and seafood gnocchi were all packed with flavor and cooked perfectly - even the table bread was amazing. We’ll definitely be back soon!

I would have given three stars but we were served a bad lobster tail and still got charged $27 after my husband and I BOTH had to taste a bad tail and almost feel sick. 🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮 Other than that, atmosphere was great and service from our waiter was great. They do simpler foods better than the fancier things on the menu. Our son’s kid steak and fries tasted better than all of our food. Our mussels were overcooked and therefore dry, and the broth they came in lacked flavor but was acceptable. The ribeye steak we had was SUPER salty, we already addressed that FOUL lobster tail, and the pork dish was great flavor, but overcooked and a little dry as a result. Oh, and the DRINKS! One was great (a peach drink), but the green drink we got tasted like a processed hot mess! Overall we spent $225 here and got the quality of a $75 meal at MOST. Our waiter and the atmosphere were great for us and our two littles, but the food was REALLY a letdown.

We came in for dinner on a busy Saturday night and had such a great experience. Our server, Ryan, was awesome! Super friendly and really knowledgeable about the menu. One of us has food allergies, and the manager actually came over to talk with us personally. It really put our minds at ease knowing how seriously they take allergens and cross contamination. The food was delicious, and the whole vibe was great. We’ll definitely be stopping by again next time we’re in town!

We’ve come to the hotel for work once a year. This place ranges from mediocre to terrible. My fiancé has never had a steak cooked properly (tried twice 🤦‍♀️). Management doesn’t seem to care and the menu is never the same. Although the space is nice it lacks attention. There are plenty of other local spots downtown we’ve grown to love!

I stayed at the Delta Hotel for one night, which was a nice experience relatively. When i used this restaurant for breakfast, my whole experience flipped. Before going to the restaurant, I was impressed with the reviews so maybe my experience was an unfortunate incidence. Anyhow, the problem started from the beginning when the young lady greeted me and provided me with a cup of coffee and water as I requested. When she brought the coffee to me, the coffee was not hot and it was spilt into the saucer. When I requested her to change it, she took it, simply put a napkin under the cup, and brought back the same cup of coffee (not hot and this time lost more temperature) to me. When I ordered the Avocado toast with sunny side egg, the egg was not cooked; the egg white was not cooked. When i mentioned the issue to her, the attitude and gesture was not friendly. She asked me if I was talking about "the yellow thing." When I said that no, I know "the yellow thing" is yolk and it should be runny, the egg white was not cooked, she said let me ask "her, " probably she was referring to their chef/cook. She returned with the same non-friendly tone mentioned that their "she" can do something for that. At this point I was not comfortable to stay. I left the hotel without having breakfast. I hope they train their staff and also whoever is working in the kitchen.

Oh my. We ate so much, but ended up bringing home half our entrees anyway (they traveled 5 hours in a cooler and were yummy dinner again!). Service was great, on a Saturday night too- prom and grads were apparently partying elsewhere because we only saw 3 other tables in 2 hours. Anyway it was great, nice menu (tough choices), and decent wine list too. I’m sure traffic will pick up during summer- avoid much of the colosseum hype tho and go enjoy their recessed lounge with firepits!

Our waitress was great and very nice. She made sure to check on us often. Unfortunately the food was not worth the price. The restaurant was almost empty and music very low which seemed a bit awkward. It’s a great looking place and I think has lots of potential. Would definitely go back for drinks and appetizers only but wouldn’t recommend food. If they just made some changes could be great. Wait staff was great and very welcoming.

I feel so bad I didn't leave a review this summer. We went to this restaurant and had, THE BEST service, food, drinks and time. Our server was Bayroni! She was great, we had a party of 10 and got right in.

The Valkyrie @ The 4 Corners is an exquisite upscale dining establishment that offers a delightful culinary experience. Although it may be slightly pricier than your average restaurant, the quality of the food justifies the expense. The menu boasts a variety of mouthwatering options such as succulent lamb, tender steak, flavorful fish, and delectable burgers. Additionally, patrons can indulge in an array of craft beers, unique cocktails, and an extensive wine list.
We had a great meal and experience here. We both had 2 drinks, I had a captain and coke then a Carmel apple crown. Both were great and I was happy that I tried the crown drink. My girlfriend had 2 raspberry mules and she loved both of them. We started with the spinach artichoke dip and it was very good. I had the Valhalla burger and she had the shrimp po boy both were fantastic and the regular fries were great as well, good crunch but not over done. We will be happy to eat here again some time.

My wife and I really enjoy this spot for date nights. It's food is reasonably priced and on par with muchore expensive dining. The specials don't miss and the drinks are all solid. We particularly enjoyed the Pork Ribeye as shown in the picture, but their French Dip, Short Rib, and other dishes have all been great. They usually have live music and the business card is for the band that was there Saturday, which was really good. Overall, just a great vibe with really good food and entertainment.

This is our second time here and the food is amazing!!!! Service is excellent and we will definitely be back. Highly recommend the spinach artichoke dip and the sangria. Soo yummy!!!!
Emily M — Google review
We live nearby but rarely visited due to the noise of the axe throwing and the excessive lighting even though the food was exceptional. Both the noise and high lighting are gone now. The food was so very good. I had the Shrimp and Grits, the hubby had the Valkrie Dip. Both were amazing and the service was great. Nice blues playing in the background. We will be back often!

First time visiting and it was worth every minute! The spinach and artichoke dip was out of this world! Matt our server was wonderful and very quick to bring our orders with a big smile. Loves the variety of different items on the menu but it made it very hard to pick! :-) Plan to visit many many more times!

My husband and I had dinner and drinks here for the first time last weekend. At that point, the restaurant had only been open for 3 weeks. The staff is still learning, but they did a great job! The drinks were spot on and the food was amazing! We say at that bar and received excellent service. Their wine selection is one of the best you'll ever encounter! Highly recommend!
Kristen W — Google review
Wonderful higher end dining. Little more expensive than average restaurant, but worth the price. Lamb, steak, fish and burgers are the main dishes. Craft beer, unique mixed drinks and a wine list. Lower end 12 for dinner and higher is near 30. Wait staff very knowledgeable and handled our table of 20 with ease, dealing with multiple dietary restrictions. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal. Steak cooked to perfection with a wonderful glaze and burgers were divine. There's ax throwing too, for some recreation but not disrupting the serenity of a wonderful meal. Live music was very nice too, not too loud.
Jessica S — Google review
The Valkyrie is amazing and you should come here. The flavors and sense of place were exactly what I was expecting and the presentation was beautiful. The flavors were of course great. The beef tartare was perhaps the best that I have ever had (I've probably had beef tartare a dozen times at restaurants around the world). The smoked salmon flatbread was good (though I was not wowed by it only because my wife regularly makes something similar). The quality of the smoked salmon was excellent. My wife had the hamburger which was one of the best and most original she has ever had. The smoked beets were a revelation -- they are excellent smoked; I had never had them that way before. Everything was perfectly seasoned. The rye bread pudding with beet ice cream was amazing. My wife hates caraway seeds and yet she still loved this. It was the perfect not too sweet dessert and though I have been eating desserts at good restaurants for two decades this was one of the few interesting and new desserts I've had. Multiple cocktails looked good; I was designated driver so I only had one at the beginning of the meal, a Greenland (I love my green Chartreuse!). My wife appreciated the wine flights and the availability of nice wines by the glass (thanks to a Coravin). Service was impeccable. The only negative thing was there was a band playing as it was a Saturday night and they were too loud (over-amplified). The music was good, at least. Still, considering they have only been around for three weeks this is a small problem.

Step back in time and experience life during the Great Depression at the Scolnik House of the Depression Era. This historic house in Muskegon has been meticulously renovated to reflect the 1930s, with period-appropriate decor, furniture, and even radios playing music and shows from that era. As part of the Hackley Hume Historic Site, a visit here provides insight into how families coped during tough times by converting and renting out parts of their homes.

Putters Creek Amusements is a clean and enjoyable mini-golf course in Muskegon that offers evening games until 9 pm. The unique targets make the game fun for friends and family. In addition to mini-golf, visitors can enjoy go-karting and Gellyball, which provides an exciting experience despite leaving minor welts. The well-maintained putt-putt course has friendly staff, and the go-kart ride lasts over five minutes.
Putters Creek is by far our favorite place for mini golf! Our family loves the water feature of the course & it makes it more enjoyable than all the other boring courses. Not only is the course very cute but the staff has always been great to us. The owners are fabulous and you can tell they want every guest to enjoy the experiences they have to offer. Been here a few times & will always choose Putters Creek over any other. Hands down. On the plus side, there’s a very cute pup that will wonder and come up to greet you. 😊 I can’t recommend this place enough!

Our family loves going to Putters Creek every year. The landscaping is meticulous. Each hole is so fun! This golf course is perfect for all ages. Some holes are in the sun but there is also ample shade. The owners are sweethearts. All staff are very kind. We love taking our family from out of town here as well!

Our family "schools out for the summer" tradition is to go here! It's a great place with an awesome dog (although, watch out, he does enjoy stealing your ball from time to time. Who doesn't love a free mulligan? LOL). Staff are welcoming and friendly throughout the course, and it really is a solid 18. Add in golf carts and jelly ball, at fair prices and they cannot be beat!

My family and I had a blast playing putt putt, driving go karts, and eating ice cream as well as participating in a raffle they had going with Muskegon rescue mission. Really appreciate all the local collaboration that this family-owned place has and definitely have our eyes on the jelly ball court and the water options for next year!

Our family signed up for the glow golf and goblins event. We arrived at the time they requested, were given instructions on what hole to start since it was a shotgun start, glow in the dark golf balls and a goodie bag with glow sticks and candy. Event started right on time with the air horn and our family had a blast. We even got to meet their dog featured in their advertising. If you are visiting the area or live in the area go have some fun and check them out.

Had a great time on the rented kayaks. We went out for 2 hours on the river. It is calm enough to go up and down the river so we started by going up river and then floated back down. Lots of turtles and other wildlife to see. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. We want to try the little power rafts next time they look fun!

Nestled in downtown Muskegon, Topshelf Liquor Bar & Pizza is renowned for its hand-tossed pizzas made from scratch with fresh and delicious toppings like pepperoni, sausage, bacon, ham, and salami. During the summer of 2020, it was located in the same building as Pigeon Hill Brewing. The pizzas have received high praise for their generous and top-quality toppings along with a perfectly made crust.
Let me start off by saying the bartender-ess was faabbbbbulous! It was very clean inside. I felt very comfortable. The area was nice and upscale. The food was great. Very tasty. I had a strawberry long island, wing and fries. Nice bar food. They even have a few IPAs. Impressive. I left with a riding cheeseburger as a souvenir lol. The cook last night was also great. He even chatted with us for a sec and laughed! Thanks for going above and beyond to get our last minute orders in!! I definitely will be back!

We had an awesome time at Top Shelf! The pizza was seriously delicious—crispy crust, great flavor—and the beer selection was on point. The atmosphere was super chill and fun, perfect for hanging out after a long day. If you’re cruising around the area (on two wheels or four), it’s a great stop to relax, grab a bite, and enjoy some good company. Definitely coming back!

Was in Tuesday 7/1 it seemed to be a very busy Tuesday night. There were three young ladies working very hard. The bartender came out from around the bar to take care of us and another table. She apologized profusely about how busy it was and what was really a small wait to get to us and did her best to take care of us and the restaurant. The food was great even with the business of the place. The drinks came out fast and service was great!!
Chadd S — Google review
Can’t talk about atmosphere because I did pick up but, the pizza was great, well-priced and topped! The sauce was well-balanced and fresh tasting. My only sadness was that it was family cut 😅 we ate it just the same!

We went tonight for our usual pizza and we were shocked to see Reggie was no longer working there. The girls were doing great, but Reggie could work circles around any one there, and we’ve been coming here just about every week for the last two years. He always knew what was going on all over the restaurant. Never did we wait for service or refills on our drinks. So, from a loyal customer, we are very sad with him not being there.

Not good at all, night and day compared to Top Shelf on apple. From the customer service to the food sucks. If I order the same item on apple st. no problem, order here it’s in the trash. I ordered once before on Western and I just thought ok mistake. Then we tried again gross, this time they deserved a review. 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

The Michigan Irish Music Festival is an amazing event that offers a beautiful location, delicious but indulgent food options like fried ravioli and butterfly chips, and a variety of whiskey and beer tastings. The energetic music sets the perfect atmosphere for a great time with friends or family. Despite the use of 'Barney bucks' instead of real money or credit cards, attendees enjoy the festival's excellent venue, food, and music. The festival also features clean facilities maintained by helpful volunteers.
Very well run event. Great music, food, and drinks. Plenty of people to answer questions and assist with any issues.

They really know how to put on a show here! Sound systems were exceptional. The musicians were so varied and very talented! It was well-organized and clean.

We have attended Michigan Irish Music Festival for years. We always have a fantastic time. There are many fun activities for kids and a large playground for them. There are so many tents filled with extremely talented musicians throughout the weekend. You can find so many Irish themed items and food choices to purchase. And, of course they have booze to drink. The one tent we always attend is the Irish Wake tent. A lovely couple explains the traditions surrounding the death of an Irish person, and how traditional customs came to be. The couple is so kind, they are so knowledgeable about Irish cultureand traditions, and they are great storytellers. I highly recommend attending the Irish Music Fest, and be sure to stop and learn about the Irish Wake.

Great time. I look forward to this every year. I spent the summer in Denver, and my return date for coming back to Michigan was making sure I could make it to the Irish Fest. My favorite band that plays there each year is The Moxie Strings. This year, one of my friends played with the band The Barley Saints and it was awesome!

It was an amazing event. The location was beautiful and the food was unhealthy but delicious!!!! I personally loved the fried ravioli and the butterfly chips. The whiskey tasting experience was mediocre with about 6 different types of whiskeys , I don't think the cost was justified. The beers where pretty good as well ....and the Music was just so energetic. The only negative for the entire event was that they use something called as the Barney bucks instead of real money/credit cards. I think it was 1$ for 1 ticket. I highly recommend buying these tickets as soon as you enter cause most of the items can be bought only using these tickets.

Muskegon native who has driven past the place a million times on Henry Street. Popped in on a Thursday afternoon to get a feel for the place before it filled up for the after work folks. This place has always had a lot of cars parked outside. The bartender says they remodeled the main area during covid and it looks clean and updated. Karaoke space has lots of room unlike some places that want ya to sing in a corner and provide clearance. The main area has one pool table with a king of the hill setup(challenge the winner) of rules next to it which I haven't seen at a lot of bars before. I love the idea of some grizzled pool master holding the table at will and taking on all newcomers. The "pool room" wasn't updated with the rest. While the furniture is dated (and some like it that way), It has two well loved pool tables that haven't been neglected maintenance wise. Overall DJs seems like a well loved bar for Muskegon locals lookin for a song and a game of pool. There's love for veterans here as well.
Daniel — Google review
I always love good bar food and DJ's has the lock when it come to their somewhat locally famous Spicy Chicken Wrap. It's a large tortilla stuffed full of chopped spicy chicken tenders and loaded up with lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, and ranch dressing. The wrap comes with chips and a pickle spear on the side. I'm not sure anymore what the cost is for one of these monsters, but it doesn't really matter because they are THAT good. Maybe I'll pick one up for lunch tomorrow. DJ's also has pizza, burgers, and a large selection of delicious fryer foods. Head out to DJ's Pub and get you a nice cold beer to go along with your Spicy Chicken Wrap. ⭐️Be sure to tip your waitstaff/bartender.⭐️

I want to post an update since my last review on this place. I continually go there because it's close to home. I love to play pool and they have several tables. I enjoy the regulars up there, they are pretty good people. Good staff too. The karaoke is fun. The last time I reviewed I had some problems with one of the wait staff, Tuna. Ever since that review several months ago I have to say that she has been nicer to me personally, and her service has gotten better. I know a few other people have had some problems and when I said that I thought the service has improved and I was going to change my review I actually had several people mad at me. Of course I don't see any reviews from them, and I am going to speak to my personal experience. I think she is still rough around the edges but I do not consider her the worst person to ever wait on me anymore. Because of this, this has become one of my favorite Hangouts. Now hopefully they get more than 4 poolsticks.

Me and my wife had 2 whiskey sours both of which were made perfectly (not to strong not to sour) both drinks were 6 bucks I think? then some jalapeno pepper bites which were hot and cheesy! Muskegon South Breakwater Light is one of two historic lighthouses in the City of Muskegon. The South Pierhead Light occasionally offers inside tours during the summer and live webcams can be viewed on the NOAA Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory website. Heritage Landing, once an industrial scrap yard, has been transformed into a lakefront gathering place with a park and community festivals. Visitors rave about the breathtaking sunsets at this beach, which also offers views of three separate lighthouses.
A beautiful view and sunset spot! Easy walk for most. There are some places that people could trip, so watch young children and adults that need walking assistance.
Becky F — Google review
Like many others say, this is a great spot to watch sunset. The path has a few areas that need repairs, though. Wheelchair /strollers could go all the way to the end if repair is done.
Junwoo L — Google review
A bit more than a half mile walk out to it. The first half is wide and smooth, the second is a little crumbly, some concrete missing, but not at all hazardous if you just watch your step. No signage to explain the historical significance, but still pretty cool to see.
Melody M — Google review
Nice walk out from The Deck watching the boats go back and forth and to get a photo or two of the lighthouse itself, as it happened today I also got a few snaps of mink (I thought it was an otter at first) with some fish it had caught.

OMG....Breathtaking sunsets. Best sunsets I've ever seen have been at this beach. You have a view of 3 separate lighthouses. Pier that is nice and wide, runs along beach then curves and angles straight out into Lake Michigan and ends with a fantastic view on lake and 2 other lighthouses across the way for the harbor/channel for ferry that goes to Wisconsin.

Nice location right on the lake for a short walk or jog. A great place to view the snow clad lake shore in winter. In winters, the lighthouse maybe partially snow covered which offers a nice contrast to its red paint. Lighthouse is about a 10 mins walk from the parking and generally there is sufficient parking.

We arrived just before closing but they were very friendly and were willing to stay as long as we needed. They told us about things to see and do in the area and checked on closing times for us. When we left they even offered to give us tickets to a baseball game. This is a converted train depot, now a visitor information center with brochures for everything in the area

very nice preserved station. Knowledgeable staff. Info. I had walked by this 19th century Industrial building with "Amazon" on it. No, it wasn't. It was an old fabric factory, upgraded to Condos. A short walk from the station is a World War-2 vintage LST (Landing ship, tank) open for tours. A little further down the coast line is a World War-2 vintage submarine, SS-236 "Silversides". Nice park along the water.

Muskegon Channel is a picturesque waterway that connects Muskegon Lake to Lake Michigan, offering stunning views and plenty of activities. Visitors can watch large ships and boats pass through the channel, stroll along wide sidewalks, enjoy beaches, restaurants, walking and biking paths, and even go fishing. The area also features attractions like the Silversides Submarine and accommodations such as the nearby Pigeon Inn. Additionally, thanks to a donation from Kali's Cure for Paralysis Foundation, Inc.
Had my grandsons Birthday Party down there by the channel, the atmosphere was beautiful… plus we got to see one of Michigan’s sunsets!! 😊

Loved watching g the boats. Bathrooms were nice. Had a blue drinking fountain, please one for Pets. Only thing is the cost. $15.00 that’s a lot never use to cost one way for the city to make money

Great place to watch the boats in the channel!

Beautiful views all along this channel. One end is Muskegon Lake and the other end is Lake Michigan. Lots to do and see…from watching the big ships and boats go through the channel, to beaches, restaurants, walking/biking paths, and fishing! You can also visit the Silversides Submarine which is located here as well. And the Pigeon Inn is nearby if you need a place to stay.

The Lake Express Terminal in Milwaukee and Muskegon offers a pleasant and serene experience for travelers. The ferry ride across Lake Michigan is described as enjoyable, fast, and fun. However, it's advised to be prepared with sufficient funds as the trip can be costly. Overall, visitors highly recommend this experience for those seeking a unique journey across the lake.
My wife, Victoria, hopped the Ferry at Muskegon. Bought round trip tickets and the price was quite reasonable...$229. She tells me that when she left on Saturday the ride was smooth as a baby's butt. On the way back from Milwaukee on Monday, the ride was exciting...a bit bumpy. She enjoyed the ride and had a great time with her sister. Try the Ferry...an adventure to be had Frodo.

We booked a return trip and had Ryan Miller taking care of the cabin. I have not had such great service since the mid 90s in first class on Singapore Airlines. Ryan was amazing greating people who had been on the ferry a year before, like long lost friends. The crossing was fantastic, smooth like being in a high end car. Great Job Lake Express.

Theme Parks
Michigan's Adventure is a local amusement park that offers a wooden roller coaster, seasonal water park, and various other rides. However, the size of the park and the number of rides available may be disappointing for some visitors. The food stands were not set up during a weekend visit, and many of the rides are old. As an amusement park related to Cedar Point, it was expected to have more and newer rides.
A charming smaller amusement park, with friendly staff . I actually really enjoyed this park . Yes it's much smaller than many , but it is very nice and has a decent amount of rides. I'd say the best one is Shivering Timbers, which was surprisingly smooth overall with a few rough spots ( I expected it to be much much rougher) . The water park also looked to be really good, though I only walked in there and looked around. Overall though if you're in the area I'd definitely say check this park out ! Only real negative I can say about my visit was that thunder hawk was down the entire day unfortunately. I had really hoped to get a ride on it , maybe sometime in the future!
J — Google review
A smaller family friendly theme park with a nice water park inside. If you're looking for dozens of crazy coasters this isn't the place, but if you can get by with a couple, want a water park, or have younger children this is a great spot. We went in a nice day in the middle of the week shortly after opening. The line to get in took less than five minutes and we walked right on to the first few rides. By mid day it was a little busier, but certainly not crowded. Only waited in one line over fifteen minutes including water slides.
Chris F — Google review
My kids had a blast here, the ticket prices are fair and there is tons to do here. They have a large variety of rides for all ages. They are even chubby-friendly as my hubby was able to ride everything with ease! The park is clean and well-maintained, and the staff was mostly friendly. Some staff had attitudes, but most were nice. The food prices are OUTRAGEOUS! The burger and fries were 16 bucks and it was a frozen over-salted patty. Was gross. That was the only downside. The drink cups are so worth it! Pays for itself. I will be back a million more times its well worth the money. Just pack a lunch!
Mary R — Google review
Feelings of nostalgia as you see some classic rides mixed in with the new. We had a great time at both the water and amusement park. Affordable and perfectly sized for a day full of fun all ages can appreciate. Over 8 water slides to match all thrill levels! I would not purchase the food plan, it was a waste and did not include beverages. Honestly, if you eat breakfast before hand, you will only eat once around mid-day because you are captivated and having such a wonderful time. You truly only want a cold beverage or ice cream.
Shameka B — Google review
Had a lot of fun at the park! Shivering Timbers is such a fun ride! We spent two days at the park and overall had a great time! The good: -Park is clean, does need a little maintenance such as fence painting. -Shivering Timbers, Wolverine Wildcat, Sea Dragon, Logrun were all very fun! -Beer Garden was a nice spot to relax at both the water park and amusement park! -Lines are not super long! Except for Wild Mouse. (That one they need to figure out) -The train that takes you from one side of the park to the other! Super fun! -Season passes work here! Along with season drink pass! Huge win! The bad: -The water park smelled like poop. Legitimately spent most the day gagging because I kept getting smells of it. This was my biggest complaint of the entire park. -Could use a few new coasters. I know a lot of funding gets allocated toward Cedar Point, but this park is in desperate need of a few smoother coasters. -Food options! Not many great food options. We ended up spending $60 on a pizza there for all of us! Insane! Overall, I would rate the park 4/5! It's a great family park and love not having to wait 3 hours to go on a ride. Super fun two days were spent there!
Tiffany S — Google review
We had a great day at the park! The mobile app for the park was a life saver! It told you how to get to the rides you wanted to ride. If you were looking for food, it guided to there. It was very convenient and great to use. Having upgraded to the drink plan was handy! Anytime you were thirsty, just stopped at any one or the drink stations and get your beverage of choice! Looking forward to going back real soon!
Sheryl B — Google review
it's a fun and great place for family fun!! be prepared, no cash. i found this out the hard way. and holy cow, i remember when tickets used to be $25 to get in, for both parks. now, it's $25 for parking, $60 entry fee (just to get in, riding rides or not) and an extra $69 for the Fast Lane passes. just giving people a heads up on things that i didn't know. ♡ also a recommendation: ADD "fast pass" rides to the water park too! side note: Thunderhawk was down, super disappointing!
•Ashley• — Google review
We had such a great time at Michigan's Adventure! The kids love the wave pool, and we rode several rides, including the Shivering Timbers and the Mad Mouse. The park was clean, the staff were friendly, and the food was good for the theme park. It was a full day of fun during our Michigan vacation. This park has always been our go-to spot every time we visit the area, and it never disappoints. Highly recommend for families looking for both thrills and water fun!

P.J. Hoffmaster State Park boasts a range of attractions, including the Dune Climb stairway, an observation deck with views of the lake, and extensive hiking and skiing trails. The park is well-kept and features an educational center that provides information about local wildlife. Families with children will find plenty to do here, as there are numerous maintained trails to explore along with access to a beautiful beach area.
Probably the prettiest beach we've seen. The sand is beautiful the water is clean and the beach is real long so it's possible to escape the people when it's 95 degrees weather and everyone is at the beaches. There's lots of parking too.

Nice trails. They are remodeling the visitors center now so it’s closed by you can walk around the construction to get to the trail heads. The new visitor center is going to be great. Minnesota does a great job of improving the parks For us all to enjoy.

Nice state park. Clean restrooms. The beach is a hike from the camping grounds. Beautiful trails for biking and hiking. Beautiful beach. Not a 5 star only because its not super close to the beach, quite a hike to it and no full hook ups, only electric.
My D — Google review
Tall trees make for shaded sites, most sites seem to be a close enough walk to the trail to the beach. Pretty large state park overall but didn't feel overcrowded with most sites filled. Will be back someday from MN!
Josh P — Google review
State parks are supposed to make you feel relaxed and inviting but it doesn't feel like that here, the park attendant came up to our rig (truck & travel trailer) first thing telling us that they don't have trailers like this in here, so... please if your going to be up there park so you can pull out cause it gets packed up there... so, we pull in and find a big motorhome up in the top parking lot and their not packed facing out... why are you discriminating our rig? Not friendly at all here, came to grill out and enjoy our afternoon as a family! Everyone is speeding and it looks like all they hire is children
Luttrell F — Google review
We sure enjoyed our camping here! We had perfect weather and there was no mosquitoes. The water was refreshing and the camp host was so friendly! The newly rebuilt, bathrooms and showers were wonderful to use. This is our favorite place to go camping and we look forward to our yearly weeklong camping at Hoffmaster State Park!!
Karen M — Google review
Amazing beach and nice campground. Plenty of showers and fairly clean. We were fortunate to not have anyone on either side of us because there isn’t much separating each of the sites.

The USS LST 393 museum showcases historical exhibits on a World War II tank-landing ship. The displays include uniforms, equipment, and weapons that were used during the war. The museum has numerous plaques throughout that provide interesting information about the ship and its role as a warship. Visitors can explore all levels of the ship from the engine room to the top level.
What an incredible journey through military history aboard the USA LST 393! It was fascinating to explore the rich stories and experiences this vessel carries with it. Those who work there clearly love the ship and enjoy sharing their knowledge of it.

This is a really cool museum that is definitely worth the trip. Tremendous artifacts and momentos of those who fought in the US Armed Forces throughout our nations history. Staff was exceptional. They were very informative and friendly. Go check it out!

This museum has so much more research and history than I could have ever imagined! They have created a retired ship into such a great learning opportunity for people of all ages. They have a lot of different aspects of the military on display and different wars! They have done a great job of restoring and preserving the history of this ship.
Lindsay N — Google review
As a navy veteran I felt right at home exploring the ship. I highly recommend watching the video to the right of the gift shop because it shows how the LST approached a shore, unloaded its cargo, and then was able to exit the shore. I was amazed how much cargo a LST could carry. Do be advised the ladders (stairs) are very narrow and steep.
