Nature & Parks
Popular place with gardens, play equipment & glass domes housing a fruit museum, greenhouse & more.
Slide 1 of 8
Fuefukigawa is a huge establishment with many buildings, play areas, and planted green spaces. Very walk-able, but bring an umbrella during sunny days. The indoor domes get hot, so keep water with you. There is a cafe and a restaurant, and if you have the time the restaurant is very good with AC and reasonable prices.
Nice park where you can enjoy the scenario from the hill to the city. There is fish catching activity, and you can grill the fish after catching. It’s fun for kids.
Beautiful place! There are all kind of fruit trees here. You can see how the gorgeous fruits are growing beautifully. Remember to be respectful and don’t pick the fruit! They have plenty of places around the area where you can buy all kinds of fruits. Also there are lots of areas where kids can play! There is the outdoor playground, aqua park, indoor playground in the dome, underground museum with interactive activities, and more. There are couple options for lunch time, fish grilling at the aqua park area, that’s seasonal. Bbq, restaurant, snacks, and the delicious seasonal parfait. I got to try the muscat one and it was amazing! Come early to enjoy as much as you can! Have lunch in the area, get some souvenirs and delicious treats and at the end enjoy at their onsen! A perfect day!
Fuefukigawa is an excellent scenic spot. Many spacious parking lots, attractive views. Spend pleasant moments with your family, children, friends, and loved ones. Make memories of happy moments, but renew love in the best atmosphere. Refresh your mood with your favorite snacks, meals, barbeque, ice cream and soft drinks. A beautiful antique railway train is waiting for you to take you around the park. Water Park is a very enjoyable place for children. Where children fulfill their wishes. And with it the freshest fruits from the orchards are eager to accompany you. However, no matter how much we talk about the charm of this park, it is less.
Amazing place with beautiful views, with lots of fruits. Huge place with play areas for kids, lots of stores around to buy the fruits. Can spend and entire day with a bunch activities to do. By dusk the place looks very different with the breathtaking views it offers.
Parked there at night. Greeted by Mt Fuji in the morning
Awesome place to spend the day. Non car access: bus from Yamanashi-shi. (I used electric bike along Fruits Line road from Isawa. Would recommend.) Space for kids, dog run, great views, an underground fruit archaeology museum, restaurants, shops, this place has something for everyone.
Super pretty, and I've heard the ice cream is great as well!! Featured in the hit anime and manga Yuru Camp! A must visit if you're a fan or near the area!!

(Translated by Google) It's at a good altitude, so it's one of the most comfortable roadside stations! Many hikers stop by here, and the staff clean the toilets regularly, so they're kept clean. The venison croquettes in the cafeteria were delicious. The dam curry is also sweet enough that even children can eat it, so I think it's fine. (Translated by Google) [After crossing the mountain, I waited for 30 minutes, slurping on some cold soba noodles in silence, thinking at the shop] On the way back from walking through Nishizawa Valley, I stopped by this restaurant to take a break. However, the 30 minutes it took from ordering to having the food brought out felt like twice as long as the tiredness of the hike. Perhaps there weren't enough staff, as the kitchen seemed to be in a state of chaos. ◆ Cold soba noodles - 600 yen ◆ Hoto noodles - 1,400 yen Both had simple flavors, and were just enough to calm my hunger after hiking. They were just like filling my stomach. The shop next to the restaurant had a good selection of local specialties, and before I knew it, I was spending my money on souvenirs worth nearly 8,000 yen. This may have been more memorable. When I came here before on a weekday, it seemed empty, but on Sundays the number of people increases after 9pm. As expected, there weren't many people around at 8am. Oh, and there's a dog run. However, although there seems to be enough land, it's small and the grass is quite overgrown, so even if you come with your dog, I don't think you'd want to let him play here. It's a bit disappointing. Also, is there camping? It looks like you can do that next door. I never noticed it before, but I guess things are changing little by little. Rocky peak with a hiking & scrambling route to the top, plus views of Mount Fuji.
Slide 1 of 8
It was 4 hours with medium pace hike to reach the top. First we saw trees, then wide open area with tall grasses, finally we the climbing areas with the help of chains. This is definitely not beginner friendly. But, the walks and climbs are amazing. Oh, don’t forget to catch the first bus (8.30am) from Enzan, otherwise it’s a bit hard to catch the last bus (4pm)
Great hike day! We started our day after a night in Yamanashi. The first bus is starting pretty late, so we took a taxi. It took us about 30 minutes and 7,500yen We climbed the mountain in the opposite way by mistake. Not recommend… The climbing started pretty boring, trees without leaves, and a big steepy slope. Only in 1,640 meters above sea level, we could start see the view. Fuji mountain was pretty clear. Anyway, from there it’s got better, and the “climbing” was not as exited as we expected but still was really nice. The view from the top was great. On the way back we’ve seen the shelter- really good and convenient. We’ve seen a broken stone building with a tunnel to enter and even a pair of deers. We recommend this hike, but don’t expect for too much.
My favorite hike thus far.
You can climb easily and the view from the top is a great mountain. There is a little rock climbing along the way, but there is a solid chain and you can climb easily. You can easily enjoy the snowy mountains because snow is not deep even in winter. The view towards the Southern Alps from the top is amazing. It would be best to climb in the air from clear autumn to winter. It is an easy mountain, but as it is a 2000m class, I would like you to climb with solid equipment. If you sweat at Mitomi hot spring on the way back, you will feel great.
The trail is very well marked and decently maintained. Great vistas of Kofu city and Mount Fuji. Big loop "8 shape" takes 6.25 hours. The buses back to 2 train stations go every 1 hour to each station. Catch the first bus from the station in order be able to catch one of the last 2 busses.
At Mt. Kentoku very nice view of mt. Fuji during sunrise. 🫡🤙
Another amazing day hike from Tokyo, can be a two day hike if you hike up to Mt. Kinpu but as there was still a lot of snow I decided to do just Kentoku san. Highly recommend Kentoku san in summer hike from May- Nov when there are buses available from Enzan station. Maybe more hikers as well. if anyone decides to go in winter, i would say not to go solo as there won’t be many people along the way and the mountain on the top is narrow. Also, be prepared to spot a few deers 🤗🤗
Awesome views of Fuji above the clouds. Course is a good challenge with forest, rocky terrain and a tiny bit of climbing w/ chains.Takes about 3 hours each way.

Great fruit picking experience! Strawberries left and right! There were around 12 25m rows of strawberries they’ve opened for picking, and Japanese strawberries were very very very delicious!!! Not overly sweet, but just right.

Even though it was an all-you-can-eat option, I couldn't eat much, so I gave it an extra 10 minutes. One of the steepest trails in 100 mountains of Japan, this mountain is not for everyone. I started my climb from Nishizawa valley in Yamanashi prefecture at 0640 and completed the trek in about 10 hours. Climbers can expect steep parts with dense tree cover and no views until the elevation of 2100 meters. However, on a clear weather day, climbers will be rewarded with a splendid and uninterrupted view of more than 20 major summits of Japan. This mountain can be climbed in a day but a lot of people spend the night at the mountain hut near the summit. Avoid this mountain on rainy, cloudy days. I have now climbed 43 of the 100 mountains of Japan.
(Translated by Google) I stayed the night before at Shirakiya Ryokan and climbed Mt. Kobushigatake from the Kegihira trailhead. It takes about 3 hours from Kegihira. Even if you walk slowly, it probably won't take 4 hours. If it took 2 hours to get to Nametaki, then it'll probably take 4 hours. There is no view until just before the summit, so the famous photo of Mt. Kobushigatake is the view you can see while descending from Mt. Kobushigatake to Mt. Kobushigoya. You can't see it from the summit of Mt. Kobushigatake, or from the summit of Mt. Kobushigatake (lol). *There is no view from the summit of Mt. Kobushigatake. Kobushigatake to Mt. Sanbo. It started out cloudy and rain-free, but it started raining quite heavily along the way. The summit of Mt. Kobushigatake was foggy and windy, so the conditions were pretty bad, which was disappointing... After that, I headed toward Mt. Sanbo, but the sun cleared for a short while around Mt. Daisen, offering a great view. I later realized that taking the route around Mt. Kobushigatake first would have been better, as it avoided the steep chain climb. Next time, I'd like to climb on a clear, sunny day.

It's not a far walk or taxi ride from Yamanashi-shi Station and there's a beautiful garden with tons of rare native plants, a duck that rules the pond, and an old gardener who took the time to explain the plants (in Japanese). There is no sidewalk at first, but after a short walk you will find a sidewalk. A slightly modest information board for the temple will appear, and it looks like it is surrounded by vineyards. The approach road is narrow and long (for one car). This Buddhist temple has been designated as a national treasure. The style of the building is similar to the Shariden of Engakuji Temple in Kamakura and the Jizodo Hall of Shofukuji Temple in Higashimurayama (although there are differences in width and depth). Also, the vault where the chief priest and his family originally lived has become an important cultural property of the country. If you only look at the vault, it looks like a temple in Kyoto. After visiting the temple (from the outside) and praying, I received a goshuin stamp from the head priest's wife, who told me that the house in front of the shrine is the current one. As it is a Rinzai sect temple, the principal image is Shaka Nyorai, but the stamp is Senju Kannon, and Kannon is the principal image of the Buddha hall (I have not confirmed whether you can get a stamp of the principal image, but the stamp is Kannon) (There's a possibility that it's only for you, but it's a good idea to check before receiving it.) [Denomination] Rinzai School of Buddhism, Myoshinji Branch [Principal Image] Shaka Nyorai Statue [History] In Kai Province, many Zen temples of the Muso sect were founded, including Eirinji and Chozenji (Kochozenji), both founded by Muso Soseki in 1330. However, Seihakuji is believed to have been founded in 1333 or 1351. According to the Kaikokushi (Records of the Kingdom of Kai), the temple was founded by Ashikaga Takauji as a place to pray for national peace and victory. It was founded by the second abbot, Muso Soseki's disciple Seikei Tsutsutsu, who credits his teacher Muso as its founding priest. During the Muromachi period, it was a branch of Kamakura Kenchoji, the central temple of the Kanto Muso sect, but became a branch of Myoshinji around the early Edo period. It was once burned down, leaving only the Buddha hall, but the various halls were rebuilt during the Kan'ei period. However, in a fire in 1682, most of the buildings were destroyed except for the Buddhist hall, so reconstruction work began during the Jokyo era, and the temple was completed with the completion of the main gate in 1731. The large wooden torii gate at the front gate, and most of the other buildings (including the bell tower), including the worship hall which is about 10 ken wide, have roofs thatched with cypress bark, giving it the illusion of being a pilgrim to a historic and famous shrine in Kyoto or Nara. This shrine has perhaps the most sights to see in Kofu. I love cypress bark roofs, so I stayed there for quite a while, but unfortunately I visited in the summer, and the grounds were full of mosquitoes and I got bitten repeatedly. If it weren't for the mosquitoes, I probably would have stayed longer. Also, these lion statues have very humorous and cute faces. The grounds also have a bell tower and a Nyohokyo tower, so I think the old syncretism of Shinto and Buddhism still remains. Nine buildings and 11 buildings, including the main shrine, worship hall, torii gate, and shrine gate, are registered as important cultural properties. The main shrine is an eleven-room Nagaru-zukuri style building, and is the longest existing Nagaru-zukuri main shrine in Japan. The torii gate was built in Tenbun 4 (1535), the bad year of Takeda Nobutora, and is the oldest existing wooden torii gate in Japan. There are not many main halls or worship halls with cypress bark roofs in the Kanto area. I wouldn't say that the precincts are in disrepair, but I feel like they could be better maintained. [Enshrined deity] Emperor Ojin (15th Emperor) Emperor Chuai (14th Emperor) Empress Jingu (empress of Emperor Chuai) 【honorable history】 At the imperial request of Emperor Seiwa, in 859, Usa Hachimangu Shrine was proposed to Nakajima, the Netorigawa River (currently the Fuefuki River), and since the area was called Oimata, the shrine was built. It is said that the shrine's name was Oimata Daimyojin when it was first proposed. After that, it was washed away by floods several times and relocated to its current location in Kubo, where it became Kubo Hachimangu Shrine. During the Sengoku period, it was revered by the Takeda clan, the guardian of Kai Province, and the current main shrine was rebuilt in 1410 by Nobumitsu Takeda, the guardian of Kai Province. In 1516, the Imagawa clan of Suruga Province joined forces with the Kokushu Oi clan of Kaisai District and invaded Kai Province, and many of the shrine buildings were destroyed by military fire during this time, and many of the existing buildings were destroyed. Many of them were rebuilt after this. The main hall of Kubohachiman Shrine was built in 1519 by Nobutora Takeda, the shugo of Kai. This building is connected to the main shrine of Tenjin Shrine built by Carpenter of Yamanashi City in 1522.The two shrines are connected by an east-west central axis using the ancient Jori system, and they also share a common architectural style. Can be seen. Kubo Hachiman is the oldest Hachiman shrine in Yamanashi Prefecture that established the form of Hachiman worship, and was revered as the guardian deity of the Kai Genji, especially the main Takeda family.

However, if you take the community bus (not a wagon type) that runs only once in the morning from Higashiyamanashi Station, the walking time will be cut in half (departs from Higashiyamanashi Station at 10:05). Get off at Kitanaka Entrance. The shrine is on the opposite bank of the Fuefuki River. You can see the shrine from a large wooden torii gate before you cross the Hachimanbashi Bridge (there is only a sidewalk on one side, and there is a pedestrian bridge running parallel to it, so if you are riding a bicycle, it is better to use that). The shrine grounds seem to be poorly maintained overall. The worship hall and main hall are located one step higher. There is also a bell tower in the precincts, making it a shrine with strong vestiges of the syncretism of Shinto and Buddhism. In contrast to the dilapidated surroundings, the shrine building is old (it is a nationally important cultural property), but it seems to have been well-maintained. The entrance gate is also built like the main gate of a temple, and all the buildings within the precincts are roofed with cypress bark. Like. The building is amazing, but the shrine as a whole is a bit disappointing. Although it is far inferior in popularity and popularity to the most famous Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine, there is no difference in sight. It is much higher than Takeda Shrine, which is only well-known, and Ichinomiya Sengen Shrine, which is only known for its shrine status. Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine has 11 nationally designated important cultural property buildings, while Kubohachiman Shrine has 9 buildings, and although there are no national treasures, both of them are of an exceptional standard for shrines and temples in eastern Japan. It is particularly impressive in that the medieval shrine building donated by successive generations of the Takeda clan has been preserved, and in that the main shrine, which is designated as a national important cultural property, and the hall of worship are both 11 rooms long, making it unique in its style. The wooden torii gate, said to be the oldest in Japan, is also worth a look. Even though it doesn't have easy-to-understand attractions like Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine, the charm of Ibushi Gin becomes more appealing the more you look at it. It's about a 20-minute walk from the nearest station, Higashiyamanashi Station, and it's a remote place with no convenience stores or restaurants, let alone a temple town. However, near Higashiyamanashi Station, you can find Seihakuji Temple, a national treasure, and Hokoji Temple and Erinji Temple, about an hour's walk from Kubohachiman Shrine. Hoko-ji Temple houses three Buddhist statues designated as nationally important cultural properties, and Erin-ji Temple is known for Takeda Fudoson and the saying, ``If the mind and head are destroyed, the fire will also cool down.'' From there, a 40-minute walk towards Enzan Station will take you to Kodakji Temple, the head temple of the Kodakji sect of the Rinzai sect, Suda Tenjin Shrine, which is home to the eight feudal lords of the Genji clan and houses the national treasure Tatenashi, although it is not open to the public, and the former residence of the Takano family, which is a nationally important cultural property. You can enjoy a whole day just in this area, so I don't feel that the access restrictions are too inconvenient. There are quite a few restaurants and souvenir shops around Erinji Temple and Enzan Station, and limited express trains stop at Enzan Station, making it convenient for getting around. Absolutely beautiful corner of the world. Only wish it was summer, some of the cleanest water I have seen and really wanted a swim. Did put my feet in, but was akin to putting them in a bucket of ice. Need walking shoes, the track there and back can get a little hairy.
Nice waterfall for cooling-off in summer. Plenty of parking and about 10min walk down to the falls via nice suspension bridge. I have walked about 1km downstream and there's plenty of plastic rubbish, which either floated down or has been thrown from the road. Hence 3 stars, although around the falls it's clearly getting looked after which is nice.
This is beautiful but be careful since there isn't a railing.
There's a power spot here but due to my feet and health problem I have no chance to go so I'm stuck 😂 here. The place is good for a resting and enjoy the river view..
Beautiful and relaxing

Very calm and relaxing, since the beginning of the road to the shrine, fresh air and nature sounds. The shrine is also beautiful with many carvings of animals. As you walk up the slope from the narrow entrance, there are various small enlightening letters written to keep you from getting bored. The slope will make you sweat if you walk too quickly, but if you take your time and take in the scenery, you'll have fun reaching the shrine in the back. I think it took about 20 minutes to walk, but I didn't get tired while taking pictures. People with disabilities should not push themselves too hard. There is a small main shrine in the back, it looks like the door of a private house, but it opens, so please come and say hello to the god in the back. When I saw a family protecting a shrine in the mountains, I couldn't help but ask for a stamp book and stamp. While I was waiting, I thought it was cold, but they treated me to amazake, which warmed my heart. This time I plan to come on an even numbered day and complete the stamp. thank you.
(Translated by Google) Bike Shrine The view was amazing. The wind chimes under the eaves help to cool down the heat during this season. The road safety stickers are also lovely, with a design that resembles a bike tire. (Original) バイク神社 眺望が最高でした。季節柄、軒下の風鈴が暑さを和らげてくれます。 交通安全ステッカーもバイクタイヤを模したデザインで素敵です♪

(Translated by Google) This garden was designed by Muso Soseki (Kokushi), who was also famous as a landscape gardener! Speaking of Muso Soseki, his most famous work is the garden "Sogenchi" at Tenryuji Temple in Arashiyama, the first of the Kyoto Five Mountains. Sogenchi has the feel of a refined, capital garden, while Erinji Garden has a rustic feel that matches it perfectly. (In a good way.)
