The adventure park was great. Not packed, so it was quicker to get on the rides. We managed to sit on all the rides we wanted to. Especially the more challenging ones like Axis and Rage. Great fun for all ages. A good advantage is that the tickets go to half price after 5 pm. Overall, it was a fantastic day.
Our kids love this place, we go every year for the day. Great price for entry and half price after 5pm. Open till late, plenty to do in the area. Carers can get a wristband for half price, up to two Carers but you need to buy tickets on the day at the park itself. Other tickets can be brought online or on the day.
Great rides for £35 per day per head or half price after 5pm. Or £4 per ride if you want fewer rides. I had 6 and 11 year old and both enjoyed.
As a family we have been coming for a long time. The wrist bands are really worth while buying ahead of time as long as you go on at least 5 rides it’s worth it. We did wait for one ride as it broke down and my daughter couldn’t get out one as the harness got stuck for everyone. The rides are fun. The only down side for us was we got a pancake at the end of the evening and there were three staff just mucking about and not really serving. They were laughing at each other and shouting. Other members of the public were not happy as we waited nearly 20 mins. I don’t mind people having fun but they were meant to be working and it was more like a social gathering for them.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Adventure Island, Southend-on-Sea What an absolutely amazing experience! 🎢 Adventure Island is truly the happiest little amusement park by the sea! The moment you enter, you can feel the excitement and energy all around. It’s beautifully maintained, super clean, and offers something for everyone — from thrilling rides for adventure lovers to gentle ones for kids and families. The staff are cheerful, helpful, and always ready to make your day better. The sea view adds a special charm to the whole experience — imagine riding a roller coaster with waves in the background! 🌊 Food stalls, games, and the overall vibe make it a perfect full-day outing. Whether you go with family or friends, you’re bound to make wonderful memories here. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Southend-on-Sea! ❤️ [ Adventure Island Southend-on-Sea, amusement park, family fun, seaside rides, thrill rides, UK travel ] #AdventureIsland #SouthendOnSea #FamilyFun #UKAdventures #SeasideVibes #ThemeParkFun
We visited on the first day of our week holiday. We went for the annual pass as the children will want to visit again and the pass also gets discounts for food, shop etc. We are now on day 3 and going again! Well worth the money! The queues are very quick, we could wait nearby and see them in the queue for the majority of the rides. I wanted to go on a couple of rides so bought some ride tickets separately (no need for a day or annual pass for me 🤣)
VISIT DATE: SAT 20/09/2025 VISIT TIME: 13:30 - 20:00 Adventure Island is a fantastic place to visit if you have children and are in the Southend area. We’re based in Hornchurch, about an hour away by car, or you can also travel quite easily via C2C from Upminster, so my ex and I have visited a number of times with our daughter, starting when she was 3 (she’s now 6). The park promotes itself as free entry, but no one is going to come just to walk through it, so the reality is that you’ll need to get a day pass to take advantage of the rides. At time of writing, it’s £35 for the day, but you can save £10 by purchasing online in advance. If you’re planning to go more than once, then it makes sense to upgrade to an annual pass. These are currently on sale at £50 and do not start until the first time you go. If your child is under 120cm tall, you won’t need your own pass, as they need someone taller (and at least 14 years old) to ride with them. As you’d expect, during the summer, or on character event days, the park is very busy, so there are queues for rides, but going off season reduces this dramatically. We were really blessed with a quiet day, so barely any queuing time, all rides open, with the exception of one, which was closed due to a mechanical issue and the park and rides were open till 8pm. It was also a warm day - being inside the park means that you are sheltered from the wind coming off the Thames Estuary, so even when it’s breezy, you don’t really feel it. There are a variety of rides, with plenty of slower ones for younger children, or those who don’t like faster stuff. Oh these, we really like Adventureville and Spooksville (which is the “scary” version, in darkness and with models of monsters and clowns, as well as appropriate sound effects), and you’ve also got stuff like little trains and boats and the best Crooked House ever, which has been an attraction on the site since 1949, surviving the great flood of 1953 and various ownership changes and developments over the years. I loved this attraction as a child and my daughter loves it too! There are also a number of rollercoasters, with more gentle ones, then building up to Rage, which has a vertical drop and loops. My daughter is looking forward to being tall enough to do that, but she’ll be going on with her Dad when that time comes, not me! There is also a water slide and an indoor area, Adventure Inside, which features a few more rides, including a traditional carousel (my personal favourite) and a decent sized soft play. Staff at the park are generally young, so they have lots of enthusiasm (if we lived nearer, I’d probably encourage my daughter to apply when she’s older, as I think it’s probably a pretty fun working environment, as well as quite hard work) and they are also friendly and helpful when you need anything. As well as the rides that are included in with your entry, there are also plenty of stalls encouraging you to spend more, like “Hook-a-Duck”, which my daughter loves. This is where having an annual pass is beneficial, as you get 20% discount on purchases, including from the food and drink stalls, of which there are also many! Personally, we recommend avoiding the restaurants inside the park as they’re not that great and there are loads of really nice local places a few minutes walk away which deserve supporting. You can also spend money on a Funtopia gamecard, to use on the many games machines in the arcade areas. You can pay to play with a debit / credit card, but the Funtopia card gives you extra credit and allows you to collect points which can be exchanged for prizes. Annual pass also gives you extra credit! Plenty of toilets in the park, including accessible and baby change. All in reasonable condition throughout the day. Overall, we really enjoy visiting and will continue to do so; it’s a great day out on its own, but when you add the other nearby attractions to the mix (Sealife Adventure, Southend Pier, spending time on the beach and in the water when it’s warm enough), this is a fabulous place to visit.
Discounted tickets after 5pm. Got to be quick if you want to do all the rides. Rage was the best. 2cm too short for two. Height checks in que. Ferris wheel took ages. Some ride staff were brilliant. Got wet on the green water slide. Toilets at either end. Plenty of places for food and drink. A good enough park to say you've done.

I love piers, and Southend Pier was a fun experience to walk. It is the longest pier in the world, and the fact that it's on the Thames and not the sea, makes it even more unique. I wanted to return with the pier train, but due to its low frequency, I decided to walk the return as well. The view, whether with high or low tide is amazing, and all in all, a great day out from London in less than a hour away.
Really long pier. Rail travelling take few minut csn walking also.Worth a visit. Nice view. Town is also interesting and clean. Is many attractions, nice restaurants.
Worth the money! It was lovely to experience the train up to the end of the pier. Lovely views from there. Plenty of seats to sit down, a restaurant that serves food and drink. There was a DJ playing by the bar area, which sounded good. The only thing negative is that it wasn't very well organised when waiting for the train and the staff were abit grumpy. Coming back our door wouldn't open but no one was there waiting for the train to arrive back so a few of the passengers had to false it open.
Very nice pier. It's over a mile long(!) We walked up and got the train back and it was £20 for a family of four. There are shops and cafes at the end but are very expensive. Great views from the pier itself.
Walked on the longest pleasure pier in the world (2.14km). Then we took the "spirited-away-like" train back to the shore. Will not forget such memory.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) Southend Pier was a good experience overall not amazing, but still enjoyable. The walk along the pier was peaceful and offered some lovely views. I took the train back, which felt like stepping into the past it has a charming 1940s-style look that gives it a unique character. What stood out most was the contrast in atmosphere. The pier has a calm, laid-back vibe, but once you head back toward the Adventure Island side, it suddenly feels like a completely different world ,busier, louder, and more energetic. It’s an interesting mix of tranquillity and fun. Worth a visit if you’re in the area!
The longest pier in the world. Currently running trips across to ports on the Kent side of the Thames estuary. We had breakfast in The Last Post, a brisk walk to the pier entrance. Then, hopped on the pier train to the end of the structure. Leisurely pint outside the cafe in the glorious sunshine before boarding the boat for the hour-long journey to Queenborough port for an explore and lunch. A scorcher of a day. Make sure you book the ferry crossing early
Really nice pier. It's amazing that you got the option to walk or use the railway. It's great fun for adults and children. Offer shops , restaurants.

Beautiful ceramics, art, cards, and jewellery. A great place to browse and buy high-quality affordable pieces from local makers. Owners are very friendly and knowledgeable. One of my favourite places in Leigh.
An absolute gem, extremely charming, friendly shop with a view into the artists' studio
First time here. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit and many of the items reminded me of my childhood. Tin bath and ceramic hot water bottles. Deep joy 😊
Love this place , always worth a visit when I am home. Take your time and if you have the opportunity, speak to the artists. ( they do commissions ) Thank you Richard.
Superb ceramics on display from two potters - Richard Baxter and Julie Saunders, beautifully displayed in a studio near the bustling waterfront of Old Leigh. A great place to visit and loads of eating options.
Pottery gallery full of seaside and sunshine colours! And some very original shapes! Beautiful selection of pieces. Bought one but will return for more!
Love the ceramics in here. I have a couple of estuary ware pieces. The mug is one of my favourites!
Looked around the gallery today and was impressed by the selection and interesting artistic quality of the items on display, well worth a visit.

A really lovely place to visit, they look like they treat the fish and animals here so well. You can see the monkeys who have been rescued and they are looking so well also. A lovely place to come and visit, I would highly recommend.
VISIT DATE: SAT 20/09/2025 VISIT TIME: 16:55 - 17:35 My daughter, her father and I have visited this attraction a number of times over the last four years. It is just the right size to go round in under an hour, with a good range of fish to look at and plenty of information panels to learn about them. They also have monkeys, meerkats, tortoises, a butterfly house (it’s amazing having these giant butterflies flying so close to you) and a display of animatronic dinosaurs. There is a café and gift shop, as well as some small rides which you pay extra to use. The site is fully accessible, with step-free access and accessible toilets, with baby change facilities. Full price entry is £18 (£16 in advance, online), but an annual pass is only £20, so worth getting if you’ll come more than once. Children under 90cm tall get free entry. There is a carpark immediately next to the site, but is very expensive. Car parks are run by the local authority. If you’re able to walk, try parking a bit further away to save money. You can find details on the local authority website.
The kids absolutely loved the zebra sharks and the talk was interesting. Look out for the giant lobster! There is more than just sea life with dinosaurs and butterflies to enjoy. The season ticket for the year is only a little more and worth doing for locals. Easily accessible by car or train (a short walk really from the station and cheaper than the car park) The cafe I would probably miss on a further visit. The staff were lovely, but it was very pricey (even on a discount) and the food ordered was not very substantial. For example no salad came with jacket potatoes, sandwiches were plain with no sides or crisps etc and expensive for what they were. Hot chocolate was lovely though! There are lots of local foody places and you can return all day with a wristband entry.
Lovely place, with great choice off fishes, sea life and animals. We truly enjoyed walking around as a family and seeing all that sea life had to offer. The souvenir shop and the cafe are a nice little bonus at the end of the tour. I would totally recommend this place and make sure you buy your annual tickets for £2 extra rather than the day pass.
A small but pleasant aquarium, different locations: fish, penguins, turtles, a small pen with mammals. Tropical butterflies. Café. Good for a family weekend. Great for children. Large parking nearby.
Enjoyable day out. Annual membership is only £2 more per person than single entry so worth considering. Cafe area has been expanded and uni sex toilets are now upstairs. There is a baby changing facility on the ground floor though.
A super day out for the kids, lots to see and do, I love that you can go round again, see things again and take your time. Lots of rides dotted around, very informative and interactive for the children. Couldn't fault it, will return.
Great place so much to see. We brought the annual pass for £2 pp extra. Staff are super friendly only downside was the cafe didn't have any fish.

Me and my dog love a walk here it's beautiful and peaceful, usually always parking available if not in one carpark definitely in the other. It's got a nice cafe you can sit outside in the nice weather with your dog. Nice climbing activities for kids also
Parking is hit and miss . Cafe is lovely with toilets but dogs aren’t allowed inside ( awkward if on your own) . The actual woods are really fun and interesting to walk around. So many options with all the woods that link together . The ox bow stream is a school kids delight ( also great for the dogs to cool down in ) . Easy to get turned around and confused to get back but that’s the joy of nature ! Avoiding the golfers is a challenge until you’ve been there a few times . There is a kids play area that looks great . Poo bins are spotted around the walks so no excuses !
Always a beautiful walk. Great for families. Childrens play areas. Cafe. Dog lovers paradise for walking. Seating in and around various parts of the woods
I own a lovely Labrador and we decided he deserved a good old walk in the woods today. It was our first time visiting Belfairs and it was amazing! Our dog had a great time wondering through the trees and chasing the pigeons. We saw some squirrels, which was nice too. There is also a stunning golf course! I would totally recomend visiting Belfairs Wood!
An absolutely beautiful place, love it, love it, love it!!! Will definitely be visiting again, with a bit more exploring to be had. Recommended for all and their dogs
This place is absolutely amazing — my sons love it here!
I really like belfais woods, it's nice to walk around, you can play golf there is a restaurant and a cafe. You can even do horse riding there. Plenty of parking and toilets.
I could walk here every day , one of my favorite walks

Amazing sunset but sunrise is even nicer. ❤️. Nice clean historical place. Ideal for picnic. Kids loved it. (No tickets required)
Don't expect a massive castle like Arundel but do expect beautiful scenery over marshes. Oh to be invisible and travel back in time. There's no entry fee. Also don't expect cafes or toilets. The nearest cafe doesn't have visitor loos and you can't take your dog in. It's lovely though and provides employment for people with learning disabilities. There's a great country park very near which apparently has a loo in the hub. It was too hot for our dog but we'll definitely return to see the park. A final plus. There's a car park near the cafe but there's a free car park in Castle Lane.
My partner proposed here 😻😻😻 I can see the place from the train when I go to work. Such beautiful landscape and walking trail 😻😻😻😻 you can even see the biggest buildings of London from here 😅
Castle ruins, nearby extremely limited parking, good for a walk and a nice view. There's signage through the site explaining what parts of the castle can be seen.
We enjoyed exploring the ruins. The long leisurely walk was a good distraction from the dog ban on the beach.
Nice and peaceful trail, lovely views. No toilet stop, though, and make sure you Take water.
Stunning ruins I absolutely adore this place I will surely be back next year for a picnic.
Stunning place with amazing views across the Thames Estuary went here for a walk today was greeted with great scenery

My friends and I drove 2.5 hours especially for this casino because we love the experience so much. Staff are nice and explain the games if you ask, and it’s easy to make a tidy profit! The bar is great as well as the food service, so from start to finish it is a great experience. Will definitely be back soon as it is always a great time in such a gorgeous building!
Great ambiance, dealer are so friendly, take time to explain the games, waiter never far. Can have snack if you forgot to eat before, open 24h.
Had a meal in November for my friends birthday, there was a group of 10 of us. Things started of well, the Restuarant was nice, the staff were attentive We got our starters and I was quite impressed, after that things went down hill. We were all looking forward to the Madness tribute band, so imagine our disappointment when we miss it, especially Linda who’s birthday it was. They took so long bringing out the different courses Due to the fact we were told we would have to wait , as they had a buffet to put out. We all thought this was bad as we had all payed £40+ for our meals. Our meal took about 3 and half hours in total Some of the staff were doing the bar as well. You should get more staff in when you have events This is not good enough 🙁
Took visiting friends here as went on a groupon voucher once before and the food was ok but on this particular night it was really not good! Ordered beef wellington described as served rare, it was really well done all 4 of them! I couldn't eat mine the waiter refunded my meal but the evening was a bit of a let down! The staff though are absolutely brilliant shame the chef lets it down! Won't eat there again!
Appalling place. Staff are great. Tried to spend lots of money but failed. Went with£200 came away with £200 . Very bad for a casino. The worst gambling established I have ever been to. The staff were terrific. I do not understand how a casino can allow me to not spend any money! I was willing to loose at least £200 but spent nothing!!! Amazing, well done rendvous saved me a fortune, thanks. I spent more money at the seafront arcades, amazingly bad casino. Great if you do not want to spend any money. I assume such a bad establishment will close very soon. The staff are terrific, but maybe they should encourage me to spend more!
Staff were extremely attentive and food was very good. Best piece of cod I've had for a long while. The only drawback is that you're sat close to the gaming tables.
This used to be the nicest casino in Southend but now that the competition have improved they're all of a similar standard. Nice place to go for a night out or a gamble but could do with more seats and a bigger bar area. The restaurant wasn't great when I visited in 2018 but there was talk of a new menu being planned so maybe it's improved now. Food and drink is expensive, but about what you'd expect for a casino. There is a car park outside but lots of people seem to get parking fines even though they've paid for parking - better to park in the big car park next to the Sea Life Centre and walk round to the casino.
Great casino. Good atmosphere and the croupiers are normally very cheerful unlike a lot of places around Southend. Only down side is the drinks are a little pricey however it’s a great night out in general and I would recommend.

Nice venue for a show although a bit dated and need of some TLC and a fresh coat of paint. Friendly staff and comfortable seats and good views from almost all angles. Had a very nice evening listening to a Queen tribute act. I think their band name is Majesty.
Great theatre to watch a show. Plenty of leg room in the dress circle with great view of the stage. The theatre looks a bit run down but certainly gives it a bit of character! Definitely worth pre-ordering your interval drinks which are delivered to your seat
I went to Bon Jovi's concert, the concert was excellent, the employees are very prepared, congratulations, I recommend it 🙏
Really sorry to leave a poor review and not a reflection on the performances at all. But Jesus… cleanliness and self respect lack here! Where’s the pride in appearance 🤢🤢 very dirty, old and the digest place I’ve been. Honestly don’t go here, needs a massive reinvestment and the whole lot ripping out and replacing. Gross
Myra’s story was fabulous. It’s a must see one woman show. Seats a little uncomfortable after a while. You can order refreshments on the app and they bring them to your seat at the interval, which is good. Bar area in the foyer is spacious and car park only a five minute walk, and is free after 6pm.
An excellent evening. The show was top drawer and all the staff at the theatre played their part. A great venue.
Great little theatre. We saw Oklahoma and the cast were amazing 👏
Went to watch Emma Kenny talk about killer couples. The show was fantastic as I am a big true crime fan and love the psychology behind it all. Seats were comfy, wasn't too hot, staff were friendly.

Love this place, it's so beautiful! Lots of different walks to go on and interesting things to see or simply just sit and enjoy the view! Bring a drink and snacks and you can spend the day there just taking it easy.
Lovely to walk around during summer. Some nice coastal path, great for wildlife. Roads are extremely uneven driving into the carpark though, be careful to avoid potholes!
It is a very good place for long walk, specially on hot sunny day to capture some vitamin D. However, there is not enough facility of toilet, which you can find in a golf cafe, where you need to buy something to use it. The natural beauty is so full, that you won't regret going there. If you are lucky you might see the chorus dance of birds in the sky. Enjoy.
A beautiful nature reserve right on the estuary. It offers quiet and tranquil walking routes either along the river which will take you to Benfleet or along the various routes crossing the reserve. There is plenty of parking either at the entrance to the reserve or right at the very end of the road where you can also launch river vessels, canoes/dinghies/motor boats etc into the water (charge). There are lots of birds to watch as well as the traffic on the river. You will also be able to see Hadleigh castle in the distance. Both Leigh-on-Sea and Benfleet stations are close enough to the path that you could walk from one to the other.
A circular two mile walk around this island is fantastic for wildlife or just taking the dog for a walk . The scenery looking out to the Thames is something else as well
Nice place for a walk. Good for wildlife photograph and birding
Ounce you go to the last carpark, their is one hide ....The only thing is it's quite muddy on route to get to...it took me 39 mins. With a lot of help from locals,to get to,but it was well worth it,in spite the fact that the path way ,was muddy, and it rained quite heavily. They could of had shutters through the windows, which could of helped more to keep you dry...
A really lovely nature reserve. It's beautiful, peaceful and buggy accessible in most places.

Small rocky beach adjacent large green open field, playground and lots of benches making it a great place for family gatherings in a sunny afternoon. Specially I liked the long beach side road which is ideal for cycling, skating and jogging. There’s a sailing club. BBQ not allowed nowadays. Plenty of parking spaces at reasonable price. My kids enjoyed a lot.
Quieter beach along the Essex coach. It is a pebble beach with grass on the verge. Ample paid parking available. Car park isn’t 24 hours so locked at night. Would be a good place to enjoy a family day out. This is the best place to catch sunrise depending on perfect weather conditions.
It was a grey November day with the tide out, which means a long walk to the water, but a nice place to get fresh air . Lots of parking places too. We didn't try the new cafe,as we had eaten, but will review another time.
Lovely, peaceful beach with a grassy picnic area and tidal pool. Can also do an enjoyable walk to nearby Gunnesbury Park.
Lovely beach which faces the North Sea rather than the Thames Estuary. Lots of parking available in the local area (both free street parking and paid car park). Loads of green space as well as a reasonably sandy beach. This area is much quieter than Southend but there is a cafe here.
Fantastic place for a family gathering. Well kept area and grounds. Plenty of space for my 45+ family members to gathering and remember our brother Michael R.I.P.
One of my favorite beaches because there is a lot of open space, you can play ball games, fly kites, and we don't step on each other.
Quiet clean beach, with 2 nice cafes selling all the usual stuff like ice creams etc. Plenty of parking. Little playground on a grassy area with plenty of benches and picnic tables. 2 sets of public toilets at both ends of the car park, very clean and regularly maintained. There is a small sandy area before walking down to a shingly beach which is good for small children and sand castle building. Felt very safe and family friendly. You could see people doing water sports in the distance. Only reason it’s not 5 stars is that I didn’t see any showers to rinse of the sand. CHECK THE TIDE TIMES, so you enjoy some swimming and chilling. BRING WATER SHOES your feet will thank you

Went in for a quick drink and something to eat. From the start the service was great and really friendly. Had some bar food which was really tasty, and for a casino the prices on both food and drinks were very good. Couldn’t fault anything. Even managed to win a little! Nice level of music and entertainment too
We went as guests with friends. Didn't door much betting as we were there for the show but all in all a nice atmosphere with a great lounge bar and entertainment. The food was above average.
Richard Browne was absolutely outstanding. He’s the kind of person every venue dreams of having on their team. From the moment we arrived, he made us feel genuinely welcome and went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect. He struck the perfect balance of professional and personable and turned what could have been an ordinary night into one we’ll remember. Thanks to him, I’ll definitely be coming back, and honestly, he deserves a pay rise for the way he looks after guests. A total credit to the casino.
Want to say a huge thank you to the team for being super a few weekends back. I am a newbie, but found the dealers very professional, knowledgeable and adaptable to each player. Want to give a huge thanks to Michael for overall combining comedy and also excitable energy at all games he was put on - really helped to make our night :D Giving a 4 because table service was a bit slower than anticipated and drinks were forgotten.
Went on a Friday night. More like a disco than a casino. Drinks reasonably priced. Food was o.k., except the hummus and flatbread. Definitely need more waitresses to serve the gaming tables. Definitely won't be returning!
I cannot express enough how disgraceful my experience was at this place. My wife urgently needed to use the toilet, and instead of showing the slightest bit of humanity or decency, the staff refused outright. I even offered to buy a drink and become a paying customer, yet we were still treated with complete disregard. It’s astonishing how a business that claims to welcome people can be so cold, inhospitable, and unfriendly. Basic courtesy costs nothing, yet this place seems determined to drive people away with its lack of compassion and hospitality. If you value respect, kindness, and being treated like a human being, avoid this establishment at all costs. There are plenty of other places that will gladly take your money and treat you with dignity. This one clearly does not deserve either.
Amazing staff here and great food and drinks. Adele, Jack and Natalie were so accommodating and friendly. Will defo be returning!!
Great experience, spent a few hours in here having lunch and playing the machines..its a beautiful place inside and very clean to..my girlfriend came away out of pocket but still had a good time and lovely view across the estuary..

Lovely park, lots of areas to discover including the old priory itself and the walled gardens. We'll worth a visit.
Nice place for you to relax, walk, or visit the museum. You can watch the bowling or enjoy the tennis courts. The gardens are quite well maintained, but the bins seem to be always over full. Still, there's plenty of open space for you to enjoy as well as places to eat for reasonable prices. The parking is free, so that's an added bonus. It's definitely worth a visit if only to watch the wildlife.
A lovely, relaxing place in the heart of Southend. The Priory is a museum, but wasn't open on our visit. The cafe only accepts cash, so we didn't eat or drink there. A good play area for children.
Such a great park! It truly has something for everyone: sports facilities, a playground, a pond, ornamental gardens, general woodland, Korean food, and even a Saxon Hall! It’s just a short stroll from our office. We visited today because it was so hot. The team has been exceptionally busy, so we decided to brainstorm, play table tennis, and enjoy some ice cream. It was great to get outside. We highly recommend it to everyone. One of the best parks in the area, if not the UK. Enjoy!
Amazing park! Went to see Fleetwood Unchained at the Sausage & Cider Festival. Brilliant day out and excellent venue
I Have visited priory park on several occasions for different events and dog walking and it's always been great. It's a beautiful park and there is always something going on. The toilets are clean and the café is lovely with a great selection of food and drink. (Cash only or pay via bank transfer) Today for the first time I took my son fishing and it didn't disappoint, we met Sam a bailiff who was really polite and 2 other fisherman who where so helpful and kind it blew me away. the 2 chaps called wes and ross where both really passionate fisherman and couldnt do more to help us as novice fisherman ourselves. They even helped my son land a 20lbs carp. We will definitely be returning
Truly stunning park.. FREE.. great for all ages. The gardens, grounds and old buildings are very well kept. There is parking free. Not so much so try to go on days not so busy. There is also a small cafe for drinks and food, or take your own and have a picnic. in the grounds there is a kids play area and also very nice duck ponds.
Gorgeous piece of history in Southend. Was great to visit the museum after many years, though was sad that many of the pieces have been removed. Still well worth the visit though. The visitor centre has modern toilets which was good to see. The old toilets are still there, but not the best option! The garden was beautiful and peaceful as always.

The receptionist was lovely and kind. The room was comfy. No air con but you do have a fan and can open the windows so i was happy. There is a Toby carvery next door and loads of restaurants along the strip. I was very happy with the selection. The beach is across the street and the closest train station is a 5 minute drive.
We stayed here over the weekend for a wedding. Firstly the lady on reception was so welcoming and friendly. The rooms were adequately sized for what we needed and the bed, perfectly comfy. 30 second walk to the sea front and carvery directly next door
The staff were fantastic very welcoming and helpful. A big bonus is that the parking is free. Room 11 on the ground floor has A lovely outlook onto a garden but (no hot/cold) air conditioning - only a wall heater and an upright fan. We had to inform Premier Inn that sadly we experienced a smell of damp.
A typical Premier inn, decent rooms, in a good location next to the sea front. A carvery is on the same site, which was great for eve meal. A bit of a walk to town, but that was a plus point for us, as we enjoy a beside -the- sea stroll!
Lovely hotel, stayed several times now. Nothing is too much trouble for staff. Only down fall is no resturant link to hotel, there is Toby Cavery in front of the hotel and many cafes in local area.
Friendly staff, clean and comfortable, the only thing is there is no restaurant in house... but a Toby Calverley in on site x10 steps away... I spent an extra night at premier inn just because of the Toby Calverley Great combination... I normally stay at the Eastern Esplanade up the road... but I think I will switch now Thanks TC
Nice hotel, the write forgets to mention the complimentary paddling pool/swimming pool in carpark. Courtesy of good old British Summer
Great location and service. Would definitely recommend a visit. It's located at the quieter end of town too.

I’ll start from service &!simply say; polite, thoughtful & well presented. Drinks were flowing and they did their upmost to commit to what we wanted, the Decor and atmosphere was absolutely satisfying our food arrived at a reasonable time. Food was essentially delicious, between two different pallets we are satisfied
I get full well we can’t all win all the time. But 200x50p spins without a single bonus is CRIMINAL. Take your money somewhere else. You won’t have any luck here
Went to the casino at the weekend with some friends, we only went for drinks but it was awful. Hardly anyone in there, no atmosphere and the door kept asking people to keep the noise down. No one was loud, rude or over the top. One small group walked in and someone in the group said it was his birthday happily and he got told to keep it down. He wasn’t even loud. It was just awful and soulless with the doorman executing their power for no reason at all! It was dull and boring and never will I return as you couldn’t speak without fear of being told to be quiet!
I attended here for the first time in a while and got pleasantly greeted as usual. However, when I then entered I was greeted with new electronic terminals as opposed to the old ones I had previously been used to. These terminals are far more confusing than the old ones and I also believe don't link to as many live tables or if they do these were hard to find. Also they appear to only start at 25p chips now and not the previous 10p minimum limit. This is general was not too much of an issue for me and played anyway. Winning some, losing some as you do but always pressing repeat bet and then adding a couple of chips on numbers I was already covering. This is when the poor customer service comes in. So a number I was playing on comes in but I don't get paid, why not because my chips aren't on that number..why are they not there it's a repeat bet every spin for the previous 30minutes or so..So I get some one over to look. They say it must be a "click and drag" feature as the money that was on the winning number has miraculously moved to a losing number just as it comes in. Also, the manager that came over said himself he was unsure on these new machines as he was still getting used to them himself. I prove it's not a click and drag feature but because of this I lost out on about £60 from the winning number meaning I didn't have enough in the terminal to place a repeat bet which then coincidentally started winning, so the way I play I would have been up about £100 on my original stake money if not more but all I got offered was a complimentary voucher valid for 48hrs, but as I was leaving anyway I didn't take it. I wasn't actually told how much it would be but apparently it is on my account should I return in the next 48hrs and hope it will be at least £100 but don't expect it to be over £10. Extremely disappointed.
Had an amazing evening at Southend Grosvenor Casino, made even better by the incredible service from Rahul, who served as both our waiter and bartender. From the moment we arrived, Rahul was welcoming, attentive, and clearly passionate about delivering a top-tier experience. His cocktail recommendations were spot-on—my mojito was perfectly balanced and refreshing. Later, when he served us in the dining area, he impressed again with his professionalism and great menu suggestions. Even with a busy crowd, Rahul remained friendly, focused, and genuinely made us feel looked after. He remembered our drink preferences when we returned to the bar, which was a lovely personal touch. The casino itself was lively, clean, and had a great atmosphere, but Rahul’s outstanding service is what truly made the night memorable. We’ll definitely be returning—and hoping to be served by Rahul again!
There's much better casinos to spend your money and time.
There’s a nice restaurant, food is good. There’s a Bar, moderately priced, cocktail included. Lots of game slots, there’s a live Roulette and Blackjack tables. Its a great casino in all.
Very nice? Friendly staff. Great drinks.

Lovely place to play tennis at, the courts are just £6.5 per hour and they're well kept. The park itself is beautiful too, hosting two cricket fields, a cafe, a little lake and a flower garden. Positively delightful weekend walk.
This is a very open park with a skateboard park, tennis courts, the Chalkwell park rooms has a cafe for refreshments, plus you have the Metal works art studio, it’s a well maintained park with a rose garden to. A number of different advents are held in the park through out the year. The reason it’s been given a 3star is there is nothing outstanding about it but it has a small carpark and lots of space for children and families to enjoy.
Not like the photos any longer. The once beautiful flower beds are mostly weeds, sadly just another neglected part of Southend
Great park with two play areas for different age groups, and a cafe and tennis courts. Makes getting the kids out of the house for a few hours easy as you can move from one spot to the next without them getting bored.
Small park but nice place for a stroll for a half an hour or so. Nicely labeled rose garden would be brilliant once they start to bloom. There was one rose called National Trust! Kids' play area was busy. Saw some heather growing nicely.
This park is lovely. It has so much for to offer, kids play ground, beautiful rose gardens, bike/scooter ramps and so on and on. Green fields round and round. Plenty parking spaces. Always a favourite for the kids scooting or riding their bikes. And all it takes is a bit of sunshine and this park would be packed. Brilliant. 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
We went to the fair as most rides were £1.50 .My grandchildren had the time of their life .The side stalls are very expensive £4 a go .Bought 3 waters that cost £6 At the end of the day you expect that. They went on the Waltzer the guy was amazing jumping on twirling them round he was like Spider Man took me back to my youth .I took cash as its alot easier than trying to pay by card but you can do both on most rides etc My youngest granddaughter who is 7 said it was the best day ever so worth every penny
Love this park. It has beautiful well kept gardens and different sporting facilities and play parks too. Great for a nice bit of fresh air, sit down for a coffee or picnic.

I booked a private hire birthday party for my little one's birthday and I have to say it was the easiest party I have arranged for her. I had a wide range of children age wise and they all had a wonderful time. I did go overboard with the amount of food order (which I think the parents were happy with because they ended up being able to eat as well). After the party I did invest in an annual pass and do arranged most group playdates at Monkey Bizness because the kids can play and the parents all feel safe to relax with a coffee. What more could you ask for from a playdate?
Generous space, clean and decent atmosphere, parking lot for everyone, kind and responsive staff. The only minus: not too many food options on the menu and not even a non alcoholic beer available.
Have been here a few times and my son loves it. Really great soft play section for the bigger children, a baby and toddler section which I think is good. We’ve been here since my son was a baby so he’s got to explore all sections. We also like the sensory room and the arcade section which I believe is new (although these are quite expensive( cleanliness is good. Food options are really good but it is expensive.
We love coming to Monkey Bizness at Rochford. We've got the annual pass and have had our sons birthday party here too! We had it as a private hire and wouldn't hesitate to do that again. Its got something for all ages and is very reasonably priced.
A well run kids soft play with a climbing wall. Our daughter always has great fun here and the food and drinks prices are not bad. The soft play area is huge but you can always keep an eye on the kids from wherever you sit. They love the big slide.
Went on a Saturday and although it was busy, it never felt overcrowded. The team managed everything really well, and the kids had loads of fun. Will definitely be making this a regular trip.
What a cool fun place. Kids totally loved it. Lots of fun things to do. Go Kart, Obstacle play area, basket ball hoop, aor hockey and many other activity places for kids of all the ages.
We booked a party room and it was amazing from start to finish. The kids were entertained, the food was great, and the staff took care of everything so we could just enjoy the day. Thank you Monkey Bizness!
