World's longest Pier, 1.3 miles. It was so beautiful walking in the pier overlooking the sea. The ticket was only 1.50 walk both ways. Couldn't reach till the end of it but it was worth it. I can bet the end of the pier would be amazing. There are resting areas too midway for you to relax and enjoy the beauty of the sea.

The longest pier in the world. Currently running trips across to ports on the Kent side of the Thames estuary. We had breakfast in The Last Post, a brisk walk to the pier entrance. Then, hopped on the pier train to the end of the structure. Leisurely pint outside the cafe in the glorious sunshine before boarding the boat for the hour-long journey to Queenborough port for an explore and lunch. A scorcher of a day. Make sure you book the ferry crossing early

Very nice pier. It's over a mile long(!) We walked up and got the train back and it was £20 for a family of four. There are shops and cafes at the end but are very expensive. Great views from the pier itself.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) Southend Pier was a good experience overall not amazing, but still enjoyable. The walk along the pier was peaceful and offered some lovely views. I took the train back, which felt like stepping into the past it has a charming 1940s-style look that gives it a unique character. What stood out most was the contrast in atmosphere. The pier has a calm, laid-back vibe, but once you head back toward the Adventure Island side, it suddenly feels like a completely different world ,busier, louder, and more energetic. It’s an interesting mix of tranquillity and fun. Worth a visit if you’re in the area!

Beautiful views and a relaxing place to unwind. The pier is really long, so taking the train one way is a good idea if you don’t feel like walking both ways. A bit pricey for what it is, but still a unique experience.

Really nice pier. It's amazing that you got the option to walk or use the railway. It's great fun for adults and children. Offer shops , restaurants.

We had a great time here, we got the train out, had fish & chips, had coffee and walked back... a great way to spend a few hours, the lifeboat station on the end is also great, and the young couple that run it, are a blast. Much appreciated for looking after us.

Our kids love this place, we go every year for the day. Great price for entry and half price after 5pm. Open till late, plenty to do in the area. Carers can get a wristband for half price, up to two Carers but you need to buy tickets on the day at the park itself. Other tickets can be brought online or on the day.

Great rides for £35 per day per head or half price after 5pm. Or £4 per ride if you want fewer rides. I had 6 and 11 year old and both enjoyed.

As a family we have been coming for a long time. The wrist bands are really worth while buying ahead of time as long as you go on at least 5 rides it’s worth it. We did wait for one ride as it broke down and my daughter couldn’t get out one as the harness got stuck for everyone. The rides are fun. The only down side for us was we got a pancake at the end of the evening and there were three staff just mucking about and not really serving. They were laughing at each other and shouting. Other members of the public were not happy as we waited nearly 20 mins. I don’t mind people having fun but they were meant to be working and it was more like a social gathering for them.

We visited on the first day of our week holiday. We went for the annual pass as the children will want to visit again and the pass also gets discounts for food, shop etc. We are now on day 3 and going again! Well worth the money! The queues are very quick, we could wait nearby and see them in the queue for the majority of the rides. I wanted to go on a couple of rides so bought some ride tickets separately (no need for a day or annual pass for me 🤣)

VISIT DATE: SAT 20/09/2025 VISIT TIME: 13:30 - 20:00 Adventure Island is a fantastic place to visit if you have children and are in the Southend area. We’re based in Hornchurch, about an hour away by car, or you can also travel quite easily via C2C from Upminster, so my ex and I have visited a number of times with our daughter, starting when she was 3 (she’s now 6). The park promotes itself as free entry, but no one is going to come just to walk through it, so the reality is that you’ll need to get a day pass to take advantage of the rides. At time of writing, it’s £35 for the day, but you can save £10 by purchasing online in advance. If you’re planning to go more than once, then it makes sense to upgrade to an annual pass. These are currently on sale at £50 and do not start until the first time you go. If your child is under 120cm tall, you won’t need your own pass, as they need someone taller (and at least 14 years old) to ride with them. As you’d expect, during the summer, or on character event days, the park is very busy, so there are queues for rides, but going off season reduces this dramatically. We were really blessed with a quiet day, so barely any queuing time, all rides open, with the exception of one, which was closed due to a mechanical issue and the park and rides were open till 8pm. It was also a warm day - being inside the park means that you are sheltered from the wind coming off the Thames Estuary, so even when it’s breezy, you don’t really feel it. There are a variety of rides, with plenty of slower ones for younger children, or those who don’t like faster stuff. Oh these, we really like Adventureville and Spooksville (which is the “scary” version, in darkness and with models of monsters and clowns, as well as appropriate sound effects), and you’ve also got stuff like little trains and boats and the best Crooked House ever, which has been an attraction on the site since 1949, surviving the great flood of 1953 and various ownership changes and developments over the years. I loved this attraction as a child and my daughter loves it too! There are also a number of rollercoasters, with more gentle ones, then building up to Rage, which has a vertical drop and loops. My daughter is looking forward to being tall enough to do that, but she’ll be going on with her Dad when that time comes, not me! There is also a water slide and an indoor area, Adventure Inside, which features a few more rides, including a traditional carousel (my personal favourite) and a decent sized soft play. Staff at the park are generally young, so they have lots of enthusiasm (if we lived nearer, I’d probably encourage my daughter to apply when she’s older, as I think it’s probably a pretty fun working environment, as well as quite hard work) and they are also friendly and helpful when you need anything. As well as the rides that are included in with your entry, there are also plenty of stalls encouraging you to spend more, like “Hook-a-Duck”, which my daughter loves. This is where having an annual pass is beneficial, as you get 20% discount on purchases, including from the food and drink stalls, of which there are also many! Personally, we recommend avoiding the restaurants inside the park as they’re not that great and there are loads of really nice local places a few minutes walk away which deserve supporting. You can also spend money on a Funtopia gamecard, to use on the many games machines in the arcade areas. You can pay to play with a debit / credit card, but the Funtopia card gives you extra credit and allows you to collect points which can be exchanged for prizes. Annual pass also gives you extra credit! Plenty of toilets in the park, including accessible and baby change. All in reasonable condition throughout the day. Overall, we really enjoy visiting and will continue to do so; it’s a great day out on its own, but when you add the other nearby attractions to the mix (Sealife Adventure, Southend Pier, spending time on the beach and in the water when it’s warm enough), this is a fabulous place to visit.

Adventure Island is the perfect place for a fun family day out! My son had an amazing time—there are so many rides tailored just for them, from mini roller coasters to gentle carousels and splash zones. The park is super colorful, lively, and full of energy, which keeps little ones excited all day long. We loved how easy it was to get around, and the staff were fantastic with children—really friendly and patient. With no entry fee and the option to buy wristbands or ride tokens, it’s great value too. The atmosphere is lively and family-friendly, with plenty of food stalls and places to grab snacks. A must-visit if you're in Southend!"

Discounted tickets after 5pm. Got to be quick if you want to do all the rides. Rage was the best. 2cm too short for two. Height checks in que. Ferris wheel took ages. Some ride staff were brilliant. Got wet on the green water slide. Toilets at either end. Plenty of places for food and drink. A good enough park to say you've done.

This is a very open park with a skateboard park, tennis courts, the Chalkwell park rooms has a cafe for refreshments, plus you have the Metal works art studio, it’s a well maintained park with a rose garden to. A number of different advents are held in the park through out the year. The reason it’s been given a 3star is there is nothing outstanding about it but it has a small carpark and lots of space for children and families to enjoy.

Great park with two play areas for different age groups, and a cafe and tennis courts. Makes getting the kids out of the house for a few hours easy as you can move from one spot to the next without them getting bored.

Small park but nice place for a stroll for a half an hour or so. Nicely labeled rose garden would be brilliant once they start to bloom. There was one rose called National Trust! Kids' play area was busy. Saw some heather growing nicely.

This park is lovely. It has so much for to offer, kids play ground, beautiful rose gardens, bike/scooter ramps and so on and on. Green fields round and round. Plenty parking spaces. Always a favourite for the kids scooting or riding their bikes. And all it takes is a bit of sunshine and this park would be packed. Brilliant. 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We went to the fair as most rides were £1.50 .My grandchildren had the time of their life .The side stalls are very expensive £4 a go .Bought 3 waters that cost £6 At the end of the day you expect that.They went on the Waltzer the guy was amazing jumping on twirling them round he was like Spider Man took me back to my youth .I took cash as its alot easier than trying to pay by card but you can do both on most rides etc My youngest granddaughter who is 7 said it was the best day ever so worth every penny

Love this park. It has beautiful well kept gardens and different sporting facilities and play parks too. Great for a nice bit of fresh air, sit down for a coffee or picnic.

One of my favourite parks and the cafe is good as well and dog friendly, it is also a short walk to the seafront. Unfortunately the playground needs updating, the play equipment needs attention, I understand residents have been onto the council about this, so hopefully be sorted soon but a beautiful park.

I love this park. Was my GSD Harriet’s favourite place and was the last place I ever took her before she passed. Will always hold a special place in my head sitting with her looking at the swans and the ducks I just find it so peaceful at night when the lights round the pond are on

This is a really lovely park, to have a walk around the pond, see the swans with their babies. Gorgeous cafe, very friendly, always busy, clean! The children’s park area, is unfortunately going down hill! It needs a complete upgrade! The equipment is either partially removed or is aging! The soft floor areas are disintegrating! It needs a complete replacement to bring it back up to the amazing play area it used to be!

Great park, field, play area, cafe, gardens, rose beds, table tennis. Great for Dog walking, enjoyable views, large pond/lake for viewing ducks and swans and seagulls. Free available parking in 2 local car parks. Also within walking distance of the Sea Front.

Lovely lovely park. Well kept and looked after by everyone. Took kids there to feed the ducks and we were greeted by this majestic birds. Don't see swans very often and not so close, but today they were eating bread out of kids hand. Beautiful.

Great place to go on a walk and take the family dog out for a run. Recently there have been refurbishments to create parks and benches. Lovely views and often gets a nice breeze coming from the seaside. It’s actually quite nice when it rains too, adding to the tranquil atmosphere. It is also an overflow car parking area when the beach is packed over summer

Thumbs up from me. Kids love it most importantly. All the playground equipment is pretty new and fresh. Like the picnic tables with board game table tops. Nice touch. The location is great. Just across from the beach.

Great little beach. Plenty of parking and much cheaper parking than the central beach. Platform built for wheelchairs. Uncle Tom's hut supplies beverages. Well maintained toilets. Grwat new play area for kids across the road. Can't ask for more.

Nice place for you to relax, walk, or visit the museum. You can watch the bowling or enjoy the tennis courts. The gardens are quite well maintained, but the bins seem to be always over full. Still, there's plenty of open space for you to enjoy as well as places to eat for reasonable prices. The parking is free, so that's an added bonus. It's definitely worth a visit if only to watch the wildlife.

A lovely, relaxing place in the heart of Southend. The Priory is a museum, but wasn't open on our visit. The cafe only accepts cash, so we didn't eat or drink there. A good play area for children.

Such a great park! It truly has something for everyone: sports facilities, a playground, a pond, ornamental gardens, general woodland, Korean food, and even a Saxon Hall! It’s just a short stroll from our office. We visited today because it was so hot. The team has been exceptionally busy, so we decided to brainstorm, play table tennis, and enjoy some ice cream. It was great to get outside. We highly recommend it to everyone. One of the best parks in the area, if not the UK. Enjoy!

I Have visited priory park on several occasions for different events and dog walking and it's always been great. It's a beautiful park and there is always something going on. The toilets are clean and the café is lovely with a great selection of food and drink. (Cash only or pay via bank transfer) Today for the first time I took my son fishing and it didn't disappoint, we met Sam a bailiff who was really polite and 2 other fisherman who where so helpful and kind it blew me away. the 2 chaps called wes and ross where both really passionate fisherman and couldnt do more to help us as novice fisherman ourselves. They even helped my son land a 20lbs carp. We will definitely be returning

Truly stunning park.. FREE.. great for all ages. The gardens, grounds and old buildings are very well kept. There is parking free. Not so much so try to go on days not so busy. There is also a small cafe for drinks and food, or take your own and have a picnic. in the grounds there is a kids play area and also very nice duck ponds.

Gorgeous piece of history in Southend. Was great to visit the museum after many years, though was sad that many of the pieces have been removed. Still well worth the visit though. The visitor centre has modern toilets which was good to see. The old toilets are still there, but not the best option! The garden was beautiful and peaceful as always.

An interesting local museum with an eclectic mix of exhibits.

Well worth a visit, especially as it is free to enter. The museum concentrates on Southend's history throughout the ages showing you archaeological finds from the local area. It's exhibits are set up in a way that you are walking through each period of human history from neolithic stone age, Iron age Bronze age, Romon etc. They travel up the time line through to modern day and have a spectacular collection of period radios all manufactured in Southend. We went to see the planetarium which you do have to pay for but is also well worth the price of admission. There are toilet facilities and an area for you to eat your own packed lunch as there isn't a café and the tea/coffee machine was switched off. There is a car park not 2 minutes away with plenty of parking. We went on a Sunday and had the museum basically to our selves.

Southend Museum is a real local gem. It’s free to visit, well laid out, and full of fascinating exhibits about the area’s history. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the planetarium show was great too. A brilliant way to spend a morning.

Great little museum. Very interesting re the saxon prince found in Southend. Didn't visit the planetarium but a friend said it was brilliant and her grandsons enjoyed it.

I was curious about the planetarium, thinking it would be like the one on Baker Street (Madam Tussauds of old). This was on a tiny scale with a capacity of about ten people at the most. Seats were rigid and craning upwards to watch the show made it very uncomfortable. The atmosphere got a bit stale towards the end. I'm glad I went once to satisfy my curiosity.

Tried to book the planetarium over the phone 3 or 4 attempts with no answer so though I'd drive down as there is no option to book online. Got there and asked have you booked? explained the situation. Told there is a show today but it's just started so you can't go in. Decided to have a quick look around, looked at the front of the museum (5mins) and went to walk though to a room at the back to be advised its £4.00 to come in this room as its a separate exhibition! Gave up and went to priory park. All in all a disappointing experience from the booking system by phone that no one answers to the actual museum.

Now living very close by, this is one of my happy places. I love feeding the ducks (please follow guidelines - absolutely NO bread or yeast products! They love porridge oats!). There's squirrels, lots of birds, Koi carp, fish, terrapins and even large birds here not to mention squirrels here! There's a plaque to our late wonderful MP Sir David Amess. Please note: dogs must be kept on a lead here. Unfortunately one entrance to the park doesn't state that dogs must be kept on a lead or you can can be fined £100. A lady didn't know and her labrador retriever dog went into the water and scared the whole flock of ducks flew away! She was so upset. Thankfully the ducks came back! There's quite a few species too!

Such a great park/garden. Lovely place to bring the kids. It's not big in size but it has great features and planty for kids or animals to run around. Its nicely kept and well looked after. The ducks and pigeons are very friendly. They would come and eat out of your hand. It's only a few minutes walk from southeast train station and 10-15 minutes to the seafront. Great park5🌟👍

Been coming here since I was a baby. Fond memories. It was nice to see people using the little field area for an Easter egg hunt hub.

A Lovely park to visit, my children love seeing the turtles, ducks, fish and squirrels. The squirrels are super friendly and they take monkey nuts from your hand. My kids also loved doing the little activity in the half term where they had to find the mouses in the building.

Lovely park in a hidden location. No carpark available but you can park on surrounding roads. There were lots of squirrels, pigeons and terrapins. Afew little families of mallard ducks also around the pond. We feed them some corn and peas, which they really enjoyed. 🦆🦆🐢

Love walking around the grounds. Quiet walk small stream trickling along. Ducks by the pond & Terripins. I walk my dog here she loves it as there are many Squirrels

Great free exhibition 'scene by the shore' about music in Southend. Has old photo's, posters etc. But also local artists making new works on response to the music scene.

A fairly large, local, free to enter art gallery containing a mixture of different exhibitions- at my time of visiting (July 2018) I saw a gallery dedicated to old paintings, photographs, fashion and a brand new modern paintings exhibit being set up so you're sure to find something to interest you. The staff who run the gallery are really friendly and polite, making for a great visit. If you wish to support the gallery I'd strongly recommend making a purchase at the gift shop which is filled with a wide variety of different products.

Splendid soaring 50s modernist cavern with a few modest galleries lost inside. Impressive above all is the optimistic architecture of the complex of the five centre and surroundings I fear mostly lost on contemporary residents.

Ever changing exhibitions with a local flavour, like this one about youth tribes gathering in southend over the years. Has some permanent parts too, like the Jazz archive. Do go in for a wander.

I was genuinely surprised at how diverse the exhibits were, all the while being very informative and touching upon different themes and ideas that are at once both historical and contemporary. It’s different than others that I’ve been to, which is why it’s something that I would always fondly remember.

This is a great place to visit, it is so nice to visit, I used to come here for the library and it just brings back memories with the walls the way they are. I used to think as a child it felt blocky but I can now see the appeal. It has plenty to see and a jazz museum in the basement which used to be the children's books section.

The great place to enjoy the sea along with the other fun activities. Great options for the family and kids.

There is a large lake you can walk around and the perimeter of the park forms part of the England coast path. There are no public toilets and I didn't spot anywhere to buy food or drink. This used to be a military site and there are several structures you can look at, but none are open to go inside. There are information boards dotted around the park, explaining its military history. There are warning signs telling you to keep of the beach as there may be unexploded shells.

Come here often! It's a nice place to walk around in good weather! Ca get very blustery though as it is by the sea wall. But it's well paved (if you want that sort of thing, has a skate park and little basketball area, and can see plenty of wildlife. I don't mind this, but for some whom it might bit be most pleasing, the inly thing to bear in mind is that it can get quite busy on sunny days, and if you're looking for being surrounded exclusively by nature or greenbelt land (without seeing houses etc.) it might not be the place as it is overlooked by the Garrison estate. This being said, it's a nice estate to walk around in and of itself because it has some very attractive areas and hiuses, especially the old Garrison bit :D

I visited this place many times the past few weeks at about 6am. A photographer's dream, amazing scenery - especially at dawn. Don't miss it.

This entire area of the coast was once the property of the Ministry of Defence, but has slowly been turned over to the council, who have stuck housing on most of it. One pocket of it was kept back as a nature reserve, Gunners' Park, a nice patch of greenery which joins the East Beach promenade. You can easily access the coast path from here, but there are dog restrictions on the beach. Your dog can only go on the beach from 1st October to the 30th of April. The centre point of the reserve is a large lake, with plenty of benches to sit on, and leftover brick buildings from the days of the military to sniff at. We've always found other dogs to say hello to, and my dog loves racing around the lake, dipping her toes in to the water and running through the long grass. You can look across the coast to Kent, into Southend at the famous pier, or head down the coast to Shoeburyness, which makes a longer walk of about three miles there and back. The path to Shoeburyness is concrete, so perfectly fine for pushchairs and wheelchairs, but you will be walking along roads at times, so you'll need a lead for those bits. There's even a play field for more off-lead time along the route. There are toilet facilities once you head along the coast path, and there's usually a static caravan selling hot food and drinks if the coastal breeze is a bit brisk. There is plenty of parking around, with a couple of official (free) car parks, although they're not massive. Plenty of car parking around the local streets, as long as you park considerately.

This park is always a favourite. Kids and us love this place. It's a beautiful park/woods. Lovely walk so it's a huge area to cover. So if you are planning to see it all, prepare for being there good few hours. And everytime we are there , we get to see people riding their beautiful horses along the woods. They have there a lovely play area for kids to entertain and burn off some energy. A real good day out for the whole family 5🌟

It was difficult navigating the woods as there are no signs. We always had to ask for directions.

Lots and lots of trees, public golf course, children's playground and a woodland play area for older children. There is also a Essex wildlife Trust Discovery Centre, where you can buy, tea and coffee, cake, icecreams and cold drinks. There is also a stable where can horse ride at the weekends. If none of that floats your boat, its just a great place to have a long walk.

The woods are looking lovely at the moment. It has dried up somewhat so the dogs don't get quite so filthy, the trees are amazing and there are squirrels, bluebells and all sorts of wildflowers as you walk in to the main area. Very peaceful. Parking, bowls, golf, a nice play area and loads of room to roam. Also this bloke was hanging around....

You can find lots of fun activities at this wonderful location! There are abundant trees, a public golf course, a children's playground, and a woodland play area for older children. The Essex Wildlife Trust Discovery Centre is also located here, where you can purchase tea, coffee, cake, icecreams, and cold drinks. For those who love horse riding, there is a stable with weekend rides. If you're looking for a peaceful stroll, this is a great place to take a long walk.

Grew up playing in these woods and always go there for a bike ride or walk. Nice places to have a picnic and the woodlands centre is good for a cuppa.

Parking is hit and miss . Cafe is lovely with toilets but dogs aren’t allowed inside ( awkward if on your own) . The actual woods are really fun and interesting to walk around. So many options with all the woods that link together . The ox bow stream is a school kids delight ( also great for the dogs to cool down in ) . Easy to get turned around and confused to get back but that’s the joy of nature ! Avoiding the golfers is a challenge until you’ve been there a few times . There is a kids play area that looks great . Poo bins are spotted around the walks so no excuses !

I own a lovely Labrador and we decided he deserved a good old walk in the woods today. It was our first time visiting Belfairs and it was amazing! Our dog had a great time wondering through the trees and chasing the pigeons. We saw some squirrels, which was nice too. There is also a stunning golf course! I would totally recomend visiting Belfairs Wood!

An absolutely beautiful place, love it, love it, love it!!! Will definitely be visiting again, with a bit more exploring to be had. Recommended for all and their dogs

I really like belfais woods, it's nice to walk around, you can play golf there is a restaurant and a cafe. You can even do horse riding there. Plenty of parking and toilets.

Shoebury park is a nice place, however, the Brook under the small footbridge needs dredging of all the rubbish and weeds before the water rises again. That spoils it..

Excellent playground under the trees. The main park area isn't huge but is well maintained and has a pond/lake with a pleasant shady path around it. There's a bowels club, skate park and large field to one side. Around the lake there are often fishermen being you know, fishermen. Unfortunately there is a bit of litter as everywhere these days, people are just happy to drop it but if you live nearby then this is a nice place to walk to and around. Keep your eye out for rats under the decking :)

Nice park, great fishing lake with swims, places to walk and throw a ball for the dog. Places to picnic and a play area and maze for the kids.

Nice Park with a pond, children's playground, tennis courts and a skate ramp with exercise machines. There is maze at the car park entrance, all in all a nice park in general for everyone. Nice to see all the ducklings on this visit, hopefully the turtles have been removed and they will have a greater chance of survival. Unfortunately the toilets have been boarded up due to vandalism.

Great play park, tennis courts, large field, cricket pitch, fishing lake with ducks and geese, skate park and a simple maze. Bowling green (club) A well maintained and popular park. No cafe. Toilets but currently locked every night at 3:30pm!

This park is the best park for miles. Great for football. There is an 'easy' maze. Massive pond with lots of wildlife (bring some duck food🦆) The playground is excellent, with lots of different rides. The 9,and 7 year old had a blast. There is also a small skate park and a bike track. Would highly recommend.

Can I just say what a well planned event City Jam was and Focal Point Gallery played a huge part in allowing artists to interact with members of the public in the workshop sessions outside the venue. A huge credit to everyone that made the event happen from the Council being supportive to the organisers and artists from all over the world. I was blown away by the artwork and how friendly everyone was. I will 100% be back next year.

I found the exhibitionreally entertaining. At first it was pretty confusingbut you understand what it is about as you go through. It suggests an belief in evolutionbut also in fantasy. The exhibition was pretty short since it wasnt a big gallery but it was enough to let you know what it is all about.

A hidden gem in the centre of town. Well worth a visit, you're never sure what you'll see as the contemporary art exhibitions can be everything from the more traditional to the best in contemporary art.

On a sunny day, it's somewhere you can relax for a little while and not worry... I've been here many times throughout the years, it's pretty much the same, you get your peak times where it's very busy and the non-peak times where you can relax a little more. There's many places nearby so you won't have to worry about refreshments nor worrying about the restrooms being too far seeing they are located not far away. You can enjoy the place alone, with friends or family,

A nice little beach in South End on Sea!! Wonderful walk on Beach with a cup of coffee and friends. Lovely weather. Must visit for the serene view of water and ships/ boats. Instagram reel makers would love this place for sure!!

Beautiful place to witness nature’s wonder. Can’t call it a beach, end of the great Thames river which flows through London. The water flows in during the high tide and flows out during low tide. One of the best experience waking on the sand during low tide, lots of people do it and wonderful time spent away from the land to witness some sea creatures. Parking available rite at the water front.

The water isnt the cleanest and the sand is about 60% pebbles but when the sun is out its a great place to relax. Lots of shops and entertainment surround the area. I strongly recommend walking or taking the train down the pier nearby. The view of the beach from there is beautiful.

Great beach for families. Nice and quiet away from the madness of the amusements. Although they are great it's nice to travel along the road and get a different experience for the children to have a play in the sand and a paddle. Nice break for the grandparents too.

I just spent a couple of hours doing some work in my camper van, overlooking the sea. The view was lovely, but the price of parking is why I have given a lower score. Time was when you didn't have to pay for parking after 6pm, but this has been extended to 9pm. The cost of parking for three hours was around £6.50 in case anyone needs this info.

Great beach for walk or run at any time of the day. I tend to qalk along the beach first thing in the morning, with the fresh breeze coming in off the water. Rhe view on s good day is brilliant and worth going down uo the beach for. The place is really clean and the beach area pebbled all the along the beach to Southend and Shoeburyness. The only issue is most of the promanade area has parking meters so you either need to pay to pay or find a space on one of the side street. I tend to park on the one of the side streets.

It was quiet in the middle of the day when we went. The beach is sand and pebbles. Wear water socks! Since this is the Thames Estuary, we decided not to swim, but we had a quiet, relaxing time sitting on the beach and walking in the water.

Great fun for everyone, kids, dogs and horses! Massive golf course! 2 kids play areas one inside the woods and one outside! 9 hole pitch and putt as well as a full 18 hole difficult course! A large restaurant and bar! Aground great day

Love walking our dog here. She can go off lead as there is ample space. Usually meet happy like-minded people here too. We are lucky to have these woods on our doorstep.

A truly lovely day, sun was shining, lots of families with children of all ages running around and climbing on the wooden structures and ropes, lots of balancing to try, fantastic. Off to the cafe for tea, cold drinks, cakes or ice cream, lots of happy people and dogs, highly recommendid

Like this place! Lagoon and Children's Playground make this part of the beach family-friendly so it is easy to stay there for the whole day in summer. Water is warmer than in a sea. Basic facilities are available nearby. Highly recommended particularly, because of the close distance to London (around 1 hour by train)

Worst beach I have ever been to (and I have been to quite a few bad beaches). Nappies were buried in the sand and dog waste too. The lagoon was very mucky and there were shards of glass left in the sand. I don’t know who would let their child play on this beach as it is very dangerous. I would not suggest coming here because you will probably feel sick when you see it. Do not come here if you value your health. Note: This review was written a year ago. I only wanted to fix a spelling mistake.

You can smell the piss from 30 metres away from the lagoon. The water is filty, the sand is full of rubbish, broken glass, cigarette butts and some planks with rusty nails. You can expect some of the same under the water, with lots of seaweed and other things that would not be there if the water would be cleaned regularly. There are much nicer places to go to, right next to the lagoon

A great place to go for all ages. We enjoy our time here in summer and in winter.

For the life of me I dunno why anyone is letting their kids wading or swimming in this filth. Walked around between the lagoon and access road. The smell of sewerage was sickening. Over hearing locals talk about drunks puking and using it as a toilet also added to its charm. Avoid this place if you value your health.

The only sandy place is Southend On Sea. It's a small Lagoon especially for kids and it's about 1 m deep

Anyone with land can run a cat park, but you need skills to provife good customer service. Oome day I'd forgotten to pay, and I remembered a few hours later and bought a ticket for time that covered my entire stay. Fair enough, the warden has already issued the penalty. I contacted customer service, via an easy web form, asking if they could refund the parking payment, and I'd pay the penalty. Zero interest is doing that and they denied any evidence I had bought a ticket, despite me attaching an invoice. Managed by greedy vampires with zero interest actually helping their customers. Shame on you.

Loads of spaces and easy layout, the road spaces just outside can be tricky due to the trees and raised pavements and wobbly kerbs, mins your step and watch the bottom of your doors for damage.

Plenty of parking and 2 minute walk to high street. Could do with more payment machine's.

Easy to use especially if you are disabled plenty of spaces but remember to close your car windows and make sure that it's locked too.

Was going to give 3.5 really, mainly because the payment machine is so so slow. But plenty of good spaces...and cost is very reasonable. There are some public toilets there too, used them, clean and did not stink.

This blockbuster is AMAZING these are photos of the Blockbuster Express on hamlet Court Road on the 7th feb 2023 it’s a overgrown place. The alley next to it leads to a door but you can’t get in. There’s a big smash/crash in the front window try and get in if you want🤣🤣🤣(don’t do that) The inside is fully painted white. There is a bit upstairs if anyone knows what was up there please comment and tell me😃.Any updates on the building again pls comment thank you:Sebxt101

Easy to find. Free after 6pm so was very useful to park for the palace theatre last Thursday evening. It is well lit, clean, lots of spaces.

Great place to walk and play (if you're a child). Bowling greens, golf course, bridle paths, 2 playgrounds one with swings, slides etc and one with a very big adventure climbing frame. Also a visitors centre with a cafe.

Absolutely brilliant for walking, dogs, families and cycling and of course golf ⛳ if that's your thing. Two cafes with ample seating. It can get busy though and car parks can fill up quick especially if it's a warm sunny day.

A nice place with lots of greenery. Multiple walking trails to follow. Can find some cyclists. A place to see flora and fauna. Large carpark. Tea rooms and toilets available. Unfortunately closed at 17:00. Toilets are also not accessible after 17:00 which is too quick during summer time. Can find golf courses and children's play area also.

Visited 2 weeks ago for lunch. Food great, hot & well presented. Staff attentive. Had to wait for the courses but it was well worth the wait. Food freshly cooked to order which is what I like. Will be visiting again very soon.

Lovely spring afternoon walk.

Usual excellent morning walk. I just wish people would use the dog and litter bins. I filled a large black sack up the other day. The paths are beginning to dry nicely. Just waiting for the ETW centre to open for coffee.

Really lovely park with good paths, fine for scooters, and parks for kids on the walk too. nice cafe, but not 5 star as prices for kids drinks were extortionate! 1.95 for a juice box! Ridiculous! Xx

Good local car park , spaces not too tight , great location for shops

Nice a convenient car park for the driving test centre and a short walk to the high-street. Payed via the ringGo app and haven’t had any issues to date. It seems to get quite busy during the day but I’ve always managed to get parked.

The spaces are too small when it's busy. I finally got a space and had to leave as I couldn't get out of the car!

Very poor payment instructions on payment machine. Suggest a separate sign outlining process of selecting time required and payment process. This could be studied before and understood without the pressure from a queue of 5 people behind you waiting whilst I tried to figure out the procedure.

I had a brilliant time at this car park. I drove in via the entrance and found a space to reverse park my car. It was so easy because there were white lines painted all over the place indicating where it was best to leave my car. There were lots of other cars in there too so I felt really good when I had to leave my car there and go for a meal knowing that it had lots of friends to have a chat with. All for a few quid ! Brilliant ! I'm going again next week - can't wait. I'm so excited.

Convenient car park for the town centre or the seafront. It's especially good for the latter as tends not to get as busy as the seafront area yet is only a 5 minute walk from the pier, Adventure Island and jubilee beach. £1.10 per hour for up to six hours or £12 for the day so also cheaper than the seafront car parks. Payment by cash or card at the machines or via the Mobon App.

Great car park good location.

Seaway Car Park offers convenient access to Southend's beach and pier with ample spaces and reasonable rates. It's well-maintained and secure, though it can get crowded during peak times. A good choice for visitors and less than 5 minutes walk to the beach.

This is just like most of the car parks around Southend as in extremely overpriced, full of broken glass and litter. They take hundreds of thousands of pounds yet spend very little back on taking care of them. How they can justify the prices whilst expecting families to pay to stay and spend their hard earned money around Southend is a joke. This is exactly how towns die, greedy people running it without returning any investment back until there's no customers.

Seaway Car Park is in a great location, close to the beach and attractions like Adventure Island, but the parking experience isn’t the best. The spaces are quite tight, which makes parking tricky—especially for larger vehicles. It can also get crowded quickly during peak times, so finding a good spot isn’t always easy. It’s convenient if you're visiting the seafront, but be prepared for a bit of a squeeze. Not the most stress-free place to park.

A big car park,however u need to pay and display your ticket on your dashboard once you have arrived. This is a problem if you are unsure how long you would be spending.. Paid about £8.70 for 3 hours stay.

It's pretty expensive, but it is right near the seafront so its a premium. Alot of people seem to struggle with the machines, you just need to know how to add time (+ and - button) and your good to go - you can also pay using the Ring go app.

Great car park perfect for getting close to Chinnerys venue ..and at a fiver for 6 hrs parking ..was a biggy better than previous weeks stay in Brighton for the same amount of for 24 quid so I was happy with that 👍

Central carpark for Southend seafront, not the best carpark, it’s has Ringo app easy to make payment but 6 hours rates is 16 pounds. Space is not so wide .

Beautiful park with so many duck around, kids enjoyed a lot. Children can play there , do some activity while I was sitting on a bench. But be careful about dog if you scared !

Not as good as the main Southchurch Park on the opposite side of Lifstan Way but still a peaceful and natural bit of parkland. There's a lake surrounded by vegetation not very accessible, only viewable from a couple of spots. On the plus side there's a giant free car park.

Lovely park. You can park around it for free. Nice little cafe in the park. Plenty of seating. Flowers in bloom. Children's play area. Secure parking for pedal cycles. Small lake running through the middle. Access for everyone. Overall I would recommend

The East side of the park (across Lifstan Way), great wildlife area, looks natural but obviously being cared for in a sympathetic way. Becoming a real haven for wildlife.

Beautiful, the East park is the other side of Lifstan Way to the Southchurch Park with the cafe and lake. Over the last few years the park has been transformed into a haven for wildlife but also is now a lovely space, really nicely and neatly maintained - really well kept with wild weed areas that are extensive enough to support bugs and birds without making the place look neglected. It was a pleasure to hear a couple of Reed Warblers calling to each other round the edge of the pond. The new trees are doing well too!

A lovely area with a little lake and plenty of space to walk the dogs. Near the seafront too. You have to pay for parking, but if you park in Southchurch Park it's free there and you can just cross over the road.

Plenty of space usually but fills up when there is a show on at the nearby Cliff's Pavilion. You can pay using the Ringo App. I understand that it's probably the most expensive car park in Southend. If you are able to climb the steps it's cheaper to park in the seafront carpark.

went here today and they now charge until 9pm... 3hr and 17 mins £11.30 - real con as it was impossible to read the screen to know the new charging... captive audience for the Cliffs Pavillion £16 for 4 hrs !!!

Bloody hard to use app and 3.45 for hour Rip off ,and absolutely disgusting, Is the council trying to ruin the town by putting people off coming to see shows and visit the sea front? We live here and shouldn't have to pay extra to park on top of council tax so greedy🤬 We should have the choice of paying by card or cash as well!!!

It's green and mostly clean, nice during the day. Has a playground for kids and an exercise area with equipment. Also a great place for a dog walk, lots of other dogs. But after dark, lowend teenage scrotums tend to mill about graffiting the equipment and littering.

An unusual, small park. Swings, slide and climbing frames in one section. Across a long path, which is great for skateboards and toddler bikes, are tennis courts, a couple of table tennis tables and an outdoor gym.

Nice, the thing enjoyed my stroll around,dogs were all on leads lots of things for children to do swings slides and many more things for them to choose from, and the thing that pleased me most the quiet ,lovely to stroll around listening to the birds the realising how lucky we are .

Nice little quiet local park, has kids play area as well as a "fitness" section and a tennis court. The Prittlebrook runs along one side adding to the diversity of wildlife whicj can be spotted.

It's a great little oasis of quiet and green. A safe place for kids to play and have fun. The playground is suitable for all ages and for the fitness conscious there is a fitness playground.

A lovely little Park in suburban Leigh. Sectioned off areas for children and dog walkers. Outdoor fitness for big kids. A maintained place. Downfall, on the southern edge of the Park (by the brook), around the fence perimeter, loads of rubbish dumped. I even encountered a large black rubbish sack, appeared to have been tossed over the fence. Who needs a rat infestation in a children's play space?!?

No Disabled Bays or Parent and Child Parking Bays. Other than a Blue Badge you have to use either Mobon, Ring Go or Southend Parking Mobile Parking Apps to pay for parking. Access to and from the Car Park is completely unsafe for BOTH Pedestrians and Wheelchair/Pushchair users. Only in Southend.

It's a car park. What can you say. There are always wardens walking around trying to catch you out. (Money for wardens but not police, funny that) The exit is narrow so watch your wheels. Pay Meters are horrible as they want your reg number so you can't hand the ticket on to someone if there is still time on it. Signage is minimal and unclear

It's one of my go-to carpark for southend. It can be busy at times. However, I've always managed to get a space. Paying for parking is simple and easy via the app. We've had no issues so far

There are a few disabled bays as you pull into the road that leads to this car park, but in the car park itself there are zero disabled bays and no mother and child bays. The fact that the council have allowed this is very wrong, and clearly no consideration was taken before rubber-stamping it!

Open Space car park and parking for coaches as well. Car parking meters available within the location with contactless facility. The car park is a bit distant from the main promenade/ attractions, however there is always some space. No security cameras that I have seen around nor did I see anyone looking after the car park. It’s clean and an open space . Can pay by mobile app called MOBON. Prices for parking is a bit expensive but as the area is an Attraction place, I guess it is normal.

Outrageous prices - lots and lots of spaces but at £25 a day in November you can see why. We went elsewhere as some central car parks are cheaper

No one seems to really notice this massive car park! It’s got so many spaces but it is a tad expensive!

Nice clean car park with plenty of space but unfortunately Southend council are taking the Mickey as prices have gone up again. £2.80 for one hour, £11 for 4 hours and god forbid you need more time than that. I went with the family and we had to rush back which put a damper on the trip as no time for doughnuts.

I would give 5 star to this car park if the traffic wardens here would be more humane.. .. Unfortunately the one working today was very eager to fine: At 5.30pm (half an hour before the car park closes), when the car park was almost empty, he fined me because the back of my minibus was overhanging 1 foot to the parking bay behind me.. (I parked there only for an hour and I had valid parking ticket). When I asked him if he's seriously going to fine me for a little bit overhanging to the next parking bay in an ALMOST EMPTY car park at the end of the day, he just said: "Sorry mate, that's the rule." (If this was a busy summer morning, when the car park fills up quick, I would probably understand the warden being so strict that I cannot overhang even 1 foot to the rear parking bay.. But this was a cold, windy February late afternoon when the car park was almost empty..)

Decent space to park, with a couple of people looking after it during summer at least. Price similar to the rest of car parks in the area but a bit further down the road than most of the others. Very annoying that mobile payments Google/apple don't work on the ticket machines.

Car park it's pay and display or use the Mobon app on a smart phone. You need to register the app. The car park currently has some art work painted on the walls of the surrounding buildings which are very good

At 10am this morning (Wednesday, October 18), I got an hour's parking via the ticket machine at Clarence Road. I am an octogenarian with one foot in the grave. Half an hour later I had a tooth extracted at the highly recommended Royal Mews dental surgery. The dentist warned: 'If you feel woozy, don't drive.' I returned to my car bang on the hour, but as I felt woozy sat at the wheel while recovering. A traffic warden appeared, flashing his booking pad. 'You've expired,' he said in a threatening tone, ignoring the blood-stained bandage hanging from my mouth. 'I've been advised not to drive while I'm feeling woozy,' I argued. 'Your time's up,' was his response, 'You've expired.' I prepared to drive off but then lost my temper with the warden (he knows who he is). I explained (as if it was not obvious, my mouth was still numb from the injection) that I'd just had a tooth removed, and suggested he added the word 'discretion' to his vocabulary. This gentleman needs lessons in how to handle the public with a touch of understanding sprinkled with sympathy. I hope he treats his granddad better.

As carparks go this is certainly one ! It's ideally located for shopping in the HighStreet with a 5 min walk. The ticket machines are temperamental and often have a queue so would recvomend using the parking app to pay.

I was surprised to find so much space on a Friday. I have the Move app which makes parking so much easier and if you think you might be late back to your car you can easily extend the time on your phone.

Unbelievable. Pay pay pay. You got a high street dying in front of are eyes and all the council want you to do is pay for parking. How about trying to encourage people to come to Southend to shop buy chargeing a little bit less.

Actually sitting on the off road spaces not the car park. Excellent views over the Thames Estuary towards the Medway Estuary. A vantage point for spotting the SS Richard Montgomery and parts of Mulberry harbour.

Nice and safe car park. I have seen a comment here which says that you get oysters here. Be advised as it is an criminal offence according to local council and if got caught can be prosecuted.

A small grass carpark close to the beach if you want the toilets its a 5 minute walk to the main carpark at Shoebury Common there is also a cafe at the main carpark for tea and coffee and ice cream but not hot food

Of all the car parks this is one of my favourites. May buy a ticket next time for an even Longer stay.

Near to southern end of high street and sea front. Capacity is limited (not very large). Southend Parking Pass can be used here. Visited around 9 am on Thursday and there were ample spaces.

One of the most expensive and outrageously decorative town car parks in Southend-on-Sea.

Very convenient car park. Only a few minutes walk from the city center and main attractions of the area. The parking charge is also low when comparing with other car parks close to the beach. Adventure Island and Southend Piers are just 5 minutes walk from this car park. It is 24hrs open and you can pay either using mobile apps such as RingGo and Mobon or directly at the car park by cash

Spots can be hard to find during the day

The best thing is its free parking after 6pm but I am not sure if it includes weekends!!

Best handy parking for the Palace Theatre. A bit scruffy, but reasonably well lit at night.

Not really very desirable for ladies parking in the evening as lots of youths hanging about. Went up the road to the open air one better lit.

It's ok, but to be able to use a bike you got to go stupidly early as it's a small park and often oversubscribed. some of the regular skaters are awesome people and in the last year they have been really friendly despite my large two wheels. Much nicer crowd than Leigh imo. Good park if local, but not worth a long travel when better/bigger parks are out there. Missed opportunity by the council as so much space around park doing nothing that could have been utilised.

Think Jay Z & Linkin Park 'Collision Course' Potential to be a good park but absolutely no flows when its busy, often too many people just hang around not using the park to skate. Not suitable for younger children as nowhere safe to practise.

I went there the other day and all I could smell was weed. I stayed there until about 7:00 at night. I wanted to stay for longer but unfortunately there are no lights on at night so I couldn't see what I was doing. Thankfully I didn't crash because of this, but this could be very unsafe. VERY DARK!!! Overall not a very good skatepark and needs improving.

A great skatepark though there seems to be a lot of chavs and trouble makers that hang around the park but do not ride or skate.

Reasonably close to the Cliffs Pavilion if the Shorefield Road C/P is full, and still free after 6.00pm while the Shorefield C/P will be chargeable until 9.00pm after the 1st April 2025

Part of the Southend parking scheme and handy for school drop offs and pick ups, but as a result can get busy at school times.

Terrible service all round. The staff that work there are rude, will not assist, and are unhelpful to say the least. They move the gravestone to allow the ceremony to take place, but then refuse to put it back. If you want it put back, you would need to get an outside company to come in AND you have to pay them an additional £170 to allow the third party to come on site. AWFUL PEOPLE!

The level of incompetence is just beyond! Why have a number on your website if it's never gonna be answered when calls come through????

Near to where my parents grave, is a water tap . The ground underneath is a mud bath. After several people asking for this to be rectified over a long period of time. This has still not been done. It needs concreting or paving. The only answer you get is it isn't down to them. Surely then the cemetery should inform the people that are responsible for it.

Beautiful cemetery, very well maintained. The office staff are very helpful and patiently looked up 3 burial records for me and marked them on a map. The ladies toilet was actually clean!

Usually quiet except for :mothers day" and it will be packed roads are narrow some parking restricts flow but normally not a problem but many parked cars creates a "single lane" preventing vehicles from passing due to large volume of parked cars because everybody turns up at about the same time so best park near entrance and walk the difference

Everything I go to the office it's never open and you can't reach them by phone either been try to get this tree remover from behind my husbands grave for years now they still haven't done it

Somehow managed to get kicked out after doing nothing but taking my bike to the bottom level to take pictures to sell my bike. Man was rude and aggressive telling me to get out when I was not doing anything suspicious. I was not talk what I had done wrong and there’s nothing that says no loitering. If you’re going to shout at a kid maybe put up some signs :/

Been parking here since December. I live just down the road and this was my only close option for parking due to my street not being listed for residence permits. £55 per month I’ve been paying and what happens, they decide to reduce the time to 9pm close rather than midnight and also increase my monthly permit cost to £60.50. I’m not one to complain or leave reviews like this but honestly that’s just ridiculous. For someone who drives a lot for work, where do I leave my car if I get home late? Why am I paying more for less operating hours? Absolute disgrace.

Avoid, you have to have an account, what they are saying is go away and shop somewhere else, il never shop in Southend again. This is what happens when you let public officials who have jobs for life run services. I went in , my wife had an appointment nearby which we missed due to not being able to park without an account, I tried logging on to website but you can’t as there’s no phone signal in a concrete building. Then I couldn’t get out as I hadn’t paid, then I received a fine for not paying. If this sounds your cup of tea then go ahead!. Local traders must hate this nonsense.

Not good experiences. Very over priced. A nightmare to try and pay. Had several fines for no reason one of which no ticket was placed on my car but a month later I get a reminder for a fine I didn't know I had which had then doubled. Worst part is I'd paid the charge when I entered anyway....

Handy carpark near top of high street but the spaces are sooo small. You need to hope people are good at parking their vehicles or spaces are too tight.

Absolute nightmare trying to pay. Went in for 5 minutes trying to figure it out and left as I couldn’t pay via phone. Subsequently called and listened to 35 reg nos to choose from and register- none mine. Wasn’t clear if you pay upon leaving or parking so I eventually paid after half an hour as I didn’t want to get fined. Absolute joke.

It’s in a good location but the spaces are tight. The only time you will want to go to this car park is when your in someone else’s car.. oh and it doesn’t smell like urine (not up until my visit anyway).

Great venue for all occasions. Been many times for various events and always have a great time.

A clean, spacious theatre, clean toilets and a cafe/ bar. We came to see the Panto, merchandise prices were a rip off, I'm pleased to say that very few people bought anything.

It's been years since I last saw a show at the cliffs. I really enjoyed it, and loved the scenery of the sea from the bar/restaurant area. Will definately be going there again!

The car park is far too small and badly signposted.

Witnessed a cleaner shouting at a woman for using the toilet and he has been coming back and forth “cleaning” them since 9am and locking the doors inbetween so no one can use them.

Parked here on a Saturday. Ticket board said £3 for the whole day. Got charged £7 when I paid at the pay and display. Usual daylight robbery by local council Southend.

Went to get my 13 yr old his second dose of covid vaccine as Southend Civic centre was the only centre nearest to Chelmsford open late and 13-15 yr age group vaccination. Car park is right next to the Civic Centre , easy to access, well spaced out and special marked bays with 2 hr free parking for vaccination centre attendees until 30June 2022.
