Bakery
The Garrison Bakery offers a delightful array of confections, with their Chelsea buns standing out as particularly affordable and delectable. However, the pricing of their other cakes is exorbitant, having experienced a significant increase. For instance, a slice of chocolate brownie garnished with chocolate mini eggs costs an astonishing 3.65 for just two inches. This unexpected escalation in prices has left patrons feeling incredulous and unwilling to make future cake purchases at this establishment.
Fabulous local run bakery serving amazing take-away sandwiches and a HUGE selection of great cakes. We visit the Garrison Bakery every other week we are around Thorpe Bay and usually buy a sandwich made with their Granary Bread and then a couple of cakes. My husband’s favourite is their Egg Mayo sandwich which is tasty and generous in size – all freshly made to order. Their sausage rolls are good too. All the cakes sampled so far have been great – our favs are banana loaf, double chocolate brownie, apple turnover, Chelsea and bath buns (they are huge but very light), red velvet cookies (please make these again only seen them on the last visit). Last visit they had a new chocolate and pear vegan brownie which looked great and hope to try next time. The cafe has a few tables/chairs inside, and another couple of tables/chairs outside. It is always busy around lunchtime and the staff are always working really hard to keep up with customer demand, and always friendly/helpful.

Fantastic cakes and a reasonable coffee. Nice friendly service and a good range of cakes, drinks and sausages rolls etc. They'll heat the latter on request which is good. The cakes are a little pricier than some places but the quality is more than enough to justify it. Nice and near the beach too so you can enjoy your coffee and cake with a lovely view.
Iain L — Google review
A bit pricy but as an individual bakery I guess you need to make money and all that so don’t blame the price.
Snow — Google review
Rude staff, stale pastry and the lemon curd and cream cake had MOLD inside, went to return it but unfortunately they were closed. Disappointed as I've heard good things about the place. But safe to say I'll be warning people against it!
Louise C — Google review
This was my first time visiting this bakery but unfortunately this will be my last. I bought a Victoria sponge slice for around £3.25. Once I left the bakery and decided to eat the slice on the train, I was absolutely disappointed. The sponge was stale and hard, the cream was all mushy with the jam and to top it off, when I took my first bite I found a strand of hair inside. I do not recommend this bakery to anyone, card payments are a minimum of £5 and the bakery goods are out left to be stale and disgusting.
Iqra — Google review
Well overpriced, rolls werent fresh and the tuna mayo had more mayo than tuna!! 2 rolls and 2 slices of cake £19! Daylight robbery that definitely wasn't worth it sorry 🤷🏼‍♀️
Miki B — Google review
Went in on the 31st of March to buy some lunch the women on the till wasn't very nice at all. I asked for a cheese and ham roll and asked if I could pay with card she said it has to be 5 pounds minimum spend which I'm pretty sure is illegal now but whatever. I looked around for more items to make up to five pound as I was hungry and didn't want to eat a sandwich from a shop. The lady who made my roll was quite nice she said thanks unlike the women on the till. One of the items was some fudge from the fudge people peanut fudge which was so nice but when I looked at the packet the best before date was the 29th of March. I know fudge would be okay but that's besides the point also my roll tasted like it had sat in a plastic wrapper for god knows how long.. collectively a horrible bakery that's overpriced but get away with it due to location and selling out of date products. Won't be going back there again. I advise others to stay away.

There is rats everywhere in the kitchen I see them all over food they was going to sell to costumer there is rat poison everywhere out back and when I left the company she refused to pay me and was incredibly rude and unprofessional. STAY WELL AWAY

"Best Bakery In Southend!" I go to the Prittlewell store at least once a week. The staff are always friendly and the cakes are rotated regularly. The food is AMAZING and the price is SUPERB. I will always highly recommend Bake.

Good choice of Bagels and sandwiches in clean and modern surroundings. Food was tasty and coffee was spot on too. Little on the pricey side.

Love Bake! Our favourite place to grab a bite to eat. Especially in the mornings or when on the go. Staff are amazing, friendly and accommodating. Food is fresh and homemade and a various desserts are a sweet treat. Always spoilt for choice. Nice to see a local business thrive in the local area. I would recommend the bacon sandwiches, Chicken BLT Club and Smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel. 5+++++

We went here Saturday afternoon for lunch as our plans changed. The staff were friendly, food was delish and price was great! We sat in to eat and felt very welcome. Great little place!

Bought a £3 chocolate topped flapjack about 9.45 this morning. Flapjack was inedible - granite hard and freezing cold. Once home (half hour later) it took a carving knife and force from both hands to cut the flapjack into pieces. It was dry as bone and seemingly frozen solid. (Photos attached show cut-up flapjack and proof of purchase.)

I've eaten sandwiches around the UK but my god this place beats them all. I had the minted lamb with caramelised onions it was the best ever and at a great price. I'll definitely be back

This place is so worth a visit! The food is sensational and the team are super friendly and helpful. I only popped in to grab lunch and ended up buying sausage rolls and cakes to take away. Will 100% be back (weekly!). Thanks to the team there

Amazing sourdough! Also purchased pain au chocolat and a hefty couple of slices of blueberry & lemon cake. Both delicious. Highly recommend. Friendly staff as well. I really hope another shop will open up in Rayleigh.

This is an artisan bakery and coffee shop in a quieter part of Leigh-on-Sea near to Southend, I've been meaning to try this place since it moved out of Leigh-on-Sea town centre a few years ago. Needless to say I was not disappointed the coffee was good and the food was excellent too, a generous size bit of cake as well. my mum was present when I visited, she liked it too and it takes a lot to impress her. I have dropped a star because of parking, not really the coffee shops fault but you have to park in the street on a busy road.
Mike — Google review
Popped by with my partner for the first time and we were pleasantly surprised. The cake and cookies were quite tasty and the iced coffee was actually really good. The only negative was the capuccino, it tasted a bit burned.
Sergio A — Google review
Amazing bakery, lovely atmosphere (made me feel back at home)... Had the seasonal toasted Hot Cross Bun with butter and Jam, and it was deeeeeeelicious! Great way to start the day. Fresh eggs and sourdough bread coming home with me.
Walter N — Google review
I would argue that this place is the best cafe in the area. I can't find sourdough anywhere else to buy. The coffee was fantastic, and the brownie was delicious. Service was quick, and the ladies were kind and helpful. super clean, and they sell farm milk and butter. wish it were closer to me. But I will be cycling passed soon!

I've just had the most amazing home delivery from flour and Spoon. I've had an iced coffee which was amazing and a breakfast bap This was first class. The bacon was absolutely delicious as was the sausage. I cannot fault this place. This is the first time I've ordered from here and I will definitely be ordering again. Top marks. Fantastic find ❤️❤️🙏

I went to this cafe during a work break. I was so hungry as I hadn’t had much for dinner the night before or any breakfast. I had the mushroom and cheese toastie with an oat decaf latte, it was so delicious- the bread was crunchy where it needed to soft where it needed to be and the mushrooms and cheese were so delicious and I loved the potatoe salad and green salad on the side. The potatoe salad reminded me of my mums who is polish. The only thing for me is that I would have loved so mustard in the potatoe salad because this is now my mum makes it and for me it was a little too sweet. I then decided to get a piece of the blueberry and lemon cake- delicious it was soft and had it tasted like a yeast cake which I love. I was so good- I really want the recipe it’s the best I have ever had. The coffee was also amazing and I am really picking on coffee as I come from Melbourne and we love our coffee- it wasn’t bitter and I loved the cup it was served in. The atmosphere was peaceful and I liked the decor. Loved this place and will definitely be returning as I love the food but also want to do the sourdough bread course which I think is so reasonably priced as others I have been looking for are over £1000. Thanks again for making my lunch break so enjoyable 💚

Went to see 'The Classic Rock Show' i would highly recommend it. These guys were phenomenal! The venue was good and very easy to get in to and get seated. Bar was quick to get served at and venue staff were very friendly ! Support your local theatre and keep gigs like this alive ! Rock on 🤘

Brilliant show from Janette and Alijaz. Such an all round show supported by an excellent band. We had the pre dining show. The meal was lovely and our waitress Allison was so friendly and attentive.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What an absolutely fantastic night at the Cliffs Pavilion! Luther Live was outstanding from start to finish. The singer not only captured Luther’s incredible voice but also his warmth and stage presence – it felt like a real celebration of his music. Every song had the audience singing along, and there were plenty of goosebump moments on the big ballads. The atmosphere was electric, the sound quality spot on, and the whole evening was filled with energy, joy, and nostalgia. If you’re a fan of Luther or just love great live music, this show is an absolute must-see. A perfect night of entertainment in a brilliant venue!
Stephen L — Google review
We have been to various different shows over the years and never had a bad experience. There are a variety of different performances to choose from with many family friendly options. There is plenty of parking available in the nearby car parks or down on the sea front (be advised of the many steps you need to climb from there). The theatre itself is spacious with different price options to choose from and there is a good amount of leg room. We opted for a side box for Jimmy Carr and decided the view was better elsewhere (still had a fantastic time). The staff are all friendly and happy to help. All in all one of our favourite venues.
Samantha D — Google review
Absolutely wonderful location with the best of views overseeing English Channel. We came to Southend-on-Sea for a concert and as expected THE THE was simply amazing, thank you Matt Johnson, and keep doing what you’re doing best! 🙏🏼

Just got home from seeing, The Tina Turner Musical! It was absolutely incredible. The cast were outstanding. The set incredible. The whole production was a triumph. I can not recommend this show highly enough. I have previously seen TINA in London, and this was just as good, and, maybe even a little bit better. We really are lucky to have such a great theatre in Essex!
Jai P — Google review
Not the best venue for acoustics or being able to see as the stalls are flat. However, the staff were very helpful and friendly.
John B — Google review
Nice theatre with good sound quality and comfortable seats. Good views. Only knocked down a star because everything is quite hard to find - no obvious signs for toilets etc. The flow of the place feels a bit off and queues for toilets are very long in intervals. I was directed to an accessible toilet despite not being disabled which could be problematic for disabled people who need them. It was also quite hard to find available staff to ask where things were. Would definitely come back but think better signage and toilets would make for a better experience.

Lovely little tearoom. Came here with my mother at about 9.40 on a Sunday, nice and quiet. Staff are lovely and cheerful. I ordered egg florentine, my mother ordered scrambled; The florentine was nice, only the spinach was quite watery and the eggs were a little overcooked. Other than that though, the bun had a nice crunch and the hollandaise and rocket were flavourful. My mother said her scrambled eggs were a 5/5, as was her coffee [with oat milk]. I had the Folkington's apple juice, kept at the perfect cold temperature and served in a nice little glass. I also ordered the brownie to finish - gorgeous. Almost too rich, it was warm and chocolatey and a nice helping. All in all, 4.7/5. Will definitely be returning!

Last minute decision to have breakfast and coffee here on a Tuesday morning after a long walk! Sat in the outside area under cover. Waiting staff very friendly, took our drinks orders which arrived quickly after ordering. We then decided to order food, which again arrived quickly after ordering. There were several other tables occupied so, middle-to busy. I highly recommend the sour dough it was incredibly tasty! Would love to return again, very enjoyable.

What a beautiful peaceful, piece of paradise. The food was amazing, the service was quality and the price is great. You visit Old Leigh you gotta go in. Love this place, will be returning!

A little gem of a café. Very dog friendly (including their own choice on the menu). Wonderful garden type atmosphere. Great food choice (we tried the kippers and were not disappointed). We were lucky when we visited as it was midweek (it can get very busy at weekends), so get there early to avoid disappointment.

The most amazing DOG friendly restaurant I have ever frequented. The great thing is , it is very clearly dog friendly so one has no reservation eating there with your pooch. The menu is great and the food is of the highest quality. The staff are so welcoming and a dog menu is just the icing on the cake. Seriously this place is a truly happy place and so it is nice not to feel under manners with a dog. It is obvious the dogs realise how welcome they are and relax. Win win. Owners happy dogs happy. Thank you .

Came in for a birthday brunch treat, and had seen this place quite a few times but never been in. Once you walk through the archway, it opens up into a beautiful outdoor/indoor garden with tables and blankets and stunning decor. We got comfy at a table, and ordered our food. I opted for the full English, and I absolutely was not disappointed! The best part was the 2” thick toast - easily the best I’ve ever had! We also had some cake to follow, which was super tasty. Will definitely be returning!

Seafood restaurant
Osborne Bros Cafe, situated in Leigh-on-Sea, England, is a renowned spot offering a diverse range of cuisines including Fugu, Hot Dog, Majorcan, Middle Eastern, Monjayaki, Murtabak and more. This eatery is famous for its seafood selection featuring English classics like jellied eels and whelks as well as less common fare such as octopus and crayfish.
The seafood here is unbelievably fresh — every bite is pure joy! I couldn’t stop eating. Pair it with an ice-cold beer from the pub next door, and you’ve got yourself the recipe for a perfect day. Seriously, this seafood stall is an absolute gem! So full of flavor, heart, and good vibes — I loved everything about it. And the little street it’s on? Peaceful, charming, and just perfect for anyone who enjoys soaking up the beauty of a slow, lovely day. You’ll want to stay awhile.

I’ve never been to a shop like this before, especially as a visitor from overseas. What an experience! Matt, one of the staff members, was brilliant. He explained everything to us and allowed us to sample some seafood that we hadn’t seen before. It was definitely worth the visit!
Michael B — Google review
The conundrum with seafood restaurants is that you can always compare it to other places... So yes this is Leigh on Sea and you won't have the same seafood platter served in Honfleur or Le Touquet or Stockholm ! For Southend, Osborne's is pretty much the best place around to get a half decent platter or small plate if one fancies. I stopped by and had a few things, 11 quid for it and all the food was ok.
Antoine B — Google review
We're new to the area and stopped in for lunch. Despite being super busy, the staff greeted us warmly and seated us super quickly. Food was fast, fresh and affordable. Had the best oysters, and incredible mussels and fries. We will be back!!

The cafe Muffin Break is a great place to get a muffin or coffee. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the coffees are delicious. The muffins are especially good, and the cafe is often crowded because it's so popular.
Myself and my partner often go for a coffee here and something to eat ,it’s really lovely food and my caramel latte is always made to perfection , the staff , especially the owner are very friendly. I would definitely recommend going.
Linda M — Google review
Been here with my Mum several times.* Came in for lunch with family today; myself, I ordered a Tuna and Cucumber Sandwich with a Mocha. Pros: The food (especially the muffins, which can be warmed up on request) is generally very lovely. Additionally, when me and my Mum used to come here often (more on that in a bit), the friendly male barista knew us so well that he would (without fail) remember what both me and Mum would usually order each time we stepped in, and would start preparing said order once we both nodded "Yep, the usual please", that being toasted teacake and tea for Mum, and vanilla milkshake and banana muffin (warmed up of course) for myself. *That having said, my usual visits here with mum were from some years back, and we don't come here often nowadays. Why is that? Cons: Well, we eventually stopped coming here often as soon as Mum realised what was happening to her 'toasted' teacake, which looks like it gets flattened under a waffle iron now, so you know, flat and rather hard. A silly con perhaps, but when Mum ordered herself a croissant today, that too suffered the same poor fate as the toasted teacake. At least the rest of our order turned out alright. Another con is the children's play area. Looks worn down, and I've never really seen anyone play there, so it could do with a refurbishment. But toasted teacake/croissant aside, food is still great, and once again shout out to the wonderful male barista (forgot name sadly); even after our period of absence from Muffin Break, he still recognised us today with a smile 😃

Just stopped by for a bite before getting a bus to Southend airport. Great options for muffins, all of which looked great. I ordered a raspberry and apple muffin and a latte. The muffin was so fruity and delicious. The latte was absolutely amazing too, kudos to the barista. The staff are really nice and friendly. Coffee like the one I got here makes me wish this shop was on my morning commute.

Bakery
Although this is not an official endorsement, our organization recently sought out a local bakery near a remote venue for breakfast treats. The assistance and service we received were excellent, and the quality of the food matched it. The bakery promptly delivered to the remote location as promised and maintained communication leading up to the event, accommodating changes in our order. Overall, their service was exceptional. Unfortunately, due to being busy at the event, we only had the chance to sample three items instead of indulging further.
My Mum was absolutely delighted with her wedding cake! The fruit cake was delicious and the presentation was beautiful. Karen was super responsive to all of my emails, sourced the artifical flowers on my behalf, and the lovely ladies in the Eastwood shop even carried it to the car for me! Thank you to the whole team - great product and service 😊

I genuinely don’t understand how they’re employed. We walked into the shop packed full with customers, and there lie 5 teenage employees looked as though of the age 17-18 serving them. There was a lack of structure and control and so unaware that it was our turn - we heard a low distant call -“who’s next?” We squeezed through bundle of people and finally arrived face to face - with a girl. We told her what we wanted, something with raisins. Directly infront of us stood a pastry, staring at us in the eyes - and yet she replied with an egotistical tone: “we don’t have any”. Are we deadass 🥀. How incompetent do you have to be; we asked her a second time to look in the back - offering her a second chance to redeem herself - she failed miserably. Frustrated i pointed a finger at the pastry i craved - “sorry about that”.

I have been going many years but this morning I was very disappointed with the service. Last week I bought a fruit loaf and nearly broke my tooth on a very hard piece that looked like a stone. The manage said that she would give me a new loaf. However when I went to collect it this morning she refused to give me the loaf saying that it wasn’t a stone but a piece of extremely hard date which would have caused damage if I had bitten on it. The assistant served someone else whilst I was waiting and completely ignored me and started writing in a book.

Recently popped in and they have a wonderful selection of cakes I must say that the bread pudding was the best I’ve had for a long time will definitely be going back. 😃

Their low GI multi-seed bread loaf is delicious! One of the tastiest bread loaves I’ve ever had.

Whilst not an official corporate endorsement, as an organisation we were looking for a bakery local to a remote venue we were using to provide some breakfast treats. The help and service we received was brilliant, and the food was to match. the Bakery delivered to our remote location, at the time they promised and stayed in contact up the the event and accommodated our change in order. Brilliant service all round. just sorry I was too busy at the event so didn't get to eat more than three to replace lunch after we had done - could easily have polished a box off!

Customers have praised the accommodating staff who go out of their way to ensure a pleasant experience, whether by offering indoor seating or heating for outdoor diners.
I have been meaning to come here for breakfast as it is always busy. I loved how early it was open especially when in Leigh lots of places don't open until 8.30 or 9.30 the staff were so welcoming. There was a fabulous range of breakfasts foods with even some steak dishes for breakfasts. I loved the full English all the items were well cooked and very flavoursome. There is no doubt I will be back for breakfast again soon!

Popped in for brekkie. Cup of tea and cheese on toast with a poached egg. Quick, yummy and v reasonable. Very popular with working men who at 10:30am are not yet working? But are breakfasting. No judgement 🥺

Just moved into the area and saw this place up the road from us. Went in for two Jacket potatoes to take away. We had a slightly complicated order but the lady who took it was patent and lovely. The gentleman who made our food was really nice too. The food itself was tasty and a great portion size! Will come back!
Amy W — Google review
Driven past this place a hundred times so decided to pop in for a post-workout snack. Visited at lunchtime and it was almost full, testament to the food served here. My partner went for the Berry Smoothie which was served cold and packed with fruit, and I had the Chicken Salad (extra chicken breast). The salad was excellent and very generously portioned. The pomegranate seeds on top were a nice touch too. Situated right on the London road, there are a few free parking spots right outside but there’s also plenty of parking available along the side roads. The cafe is clean and nicely decorated, staff are friendly and attentive and the food is very good. Update: having tried several more of their dishes here, I’m really impressed. The Protein Steak is definitely my new favourite. Highly recommended

Fab breakfast, amazingly cooked breakfast steak, wonderful staff, couldn’t recommend anything more for a birthday breakfast, amazing hygiene and very attentive but not overly attentive.
Finn R — Google review
Very disappointed in my last visit I actually sat with a huge London/ European foodie/blogger who is pregnant. She ordered a peanut butter and honey smoothie and it was presented with warm milk( disgusting) she actually went inside to ask for some ice and when the waitress could be bothered after 9 minutes she banged the glass on the table with a terrible attitude. I was rather embarrassed by the powdered smoothie with warm semi skimmed milk and the waitress I raved about being so pleasant was very unprofessional. Sadly I wont be going back. ( by the way the cook/chef should ask you if want oregano and garlic on the fried breakfast before as I'm allergic to thyme and oregano. Potentially a place to go for a pretentious breakfast.⁸

Great seaside pub. Seemed to be mainly locals. Historic building. Bar staff were good and watching the bar for custom. I was served quickly and found the prices a nice surprise.

Did not stay at the hotel only for drinks at the bar Seems a locals bar, the staff did not know how to pour a Guiness just pulling the leaver and placing the glass down not allowing to settle or tipping and holding the glass. Floors were sticky and on a hot day all windows and doors were closed and smelt stale Garden area was ok not exactly picturesque.. but the biggest problem was in the garden area a group of people openly smoking weed and talking openly about the drugs they had on thier person

Had to stay a night in that hotel with my husband. Most dreadfull experience, ruined the mood for the whole trip. Hotel is outdated and unmaintained. Serious need of renovation. Room was dissapointing, dirty and inconvinient. Carpet was stained and lost color, shower cabin was a little 1 meter box. Toilet was shared-1 meter box as well.Could hardly move the window in the room, let alone close it. Spring mattress had a bump so my back is damaged now.Misery at its "finest" Have to admit though, staff was friendly and nice. They knew what we were signing for.

The customers were happy to wait and appreciated the offer of a complimentary soft drink while their order was being prepared. After 10 minutes, they received their Peri Peri rice box with lemon and herb flavoring.
Great Food, Fun Atmosphere, and Family-Friendly I recently visited here and had a fantastic experience! The prices were reasonable, and the food was delicious. The pool table adds a fun, relaxed vibe, perfect for a game after dinner. Families will love the kids' zone, which kept the little ones entertained while we enjoyed our meal. The friendly staff and homely atmosphere make this a must-visit. Highly recommend for a great time with family or friends!

Came in with my partner and two little ones for a meal on Friday evening. Parking is available nearby. Cleanliness is reasonable but the dining area could do with being renovated. Food was very nice, my partners chicken burger especially. I had the chicken strips which were marinaded in an excellent hot sauce. The children’s meals were your standard chicken nuggets and chips, but they were perfectly fine. Worth stopping by if you’re in the area.

Great food and a family friendly environment. The kids play area is a really nice addition. We will be back!
K E — Google review
The food? Great. The pizza was cooked to great, halloumi great, milkshakes great. But let me tell you about the true headliner of the night: the fire alarm. Beeping. Every. 30. Seconds. At first I thought, “Oh, that’s annoying.” Then it became, “Is this part of the ambience of the restaurant” By the end of the meal, I was twitching like I owed it money. It wasn’t loud enough to evacuate, just loud enough to haunt your soul. Like a tiny little sheet screaming “BEEP” while you’re trying to enjoy the peace and copy right free songs. So yes, good food. But unless the fire alarm gets therapy or a new battery, I’m bringing noise-cancelling headphones next time.

I’d like to start with a massive thank you to Gemma and Will and also the manager of the Rayleigh store (I’m so sorry I didn’t get your name!) I ordered a birthday cake for my daughter 4th birthday, went to pick it up but got there before the cake had arrived, The manager arranged for the cake to be delivered to my home so I didn’t have to come back, which I was more than happy to do! Will personally delivered the cake within an hour of me walking into the store, I had updates from Gemma via phone, which she didn’t have to do. Their customer service is second to none. I am so impressed with their customer service! Now the cake; the cake was the most tastiest, beautifully decorated cake I had ever got, I ordered the medium size and this was more than enough to feed 30 children with cake to spare which didn’t last long between me and my husband. It’s so worth it buying locally, then a supermarket range. Thank you thank you thank you, I will definitely be ordering again! I can see why so many people repeat buy ❤️ Violet was obsessed!

This store has put food on my table for many years. I would certainly recommend every single type of loaf sold and the pastries, both sweet and savoury, are also worth a try. Lately, entry to the store is restricted by a door gate and hand sanitizer, usually, is on hand. Whilst not cheap, prices are usually reasonable and bread orders can be reserved by telephone. Parking is usually straightforward, right outside, and several dedicated bicycle parking stands are nearby. One cautionary note, this store is often sold out of it's wonderful bread products quite early in the day.

Popped in to treat ourselves to some tasty desserts after finding this place on Instagram. The cafe itself was beautiful! Cute seating and wall decor and a lovely floral ceiling which was very pretty. The choice of desserts was very generous, and we took a fair while to decide! We opted for a Smarties pie and a Jam & Cream Blondie. Both were delicious, not too sweet or sickly, and we’d definitely return again to try something new next time we’re in the area.

A review from the heart for one of the loveliest businesses I've had the pleasure of working with! I ordered the tall vegan lotus/biscoff gold cake for my wedding day and it was PHENOMENAL! I also ordered the vegan brownies which were so delicious I nearly ate them all myself. Support small businesses, because the care, attention to detail and love that is poured into the work is what makes everything so special! Without going into a long story, things were quite comically going wrong before my wedding day. It was the day before and I was picking up my cake, but due to an overseas order error it wasn't in the shop for pick-up. Here comes the best part, the ladies working at the shop were on the phone helping me to figure it out. Before I knew it I was where the magic happens (the big kitchen) and meeting Will and Gemma. They not only had my stunning cake ready to go, they spent time to chat to me and reassure me that "things go wrong in the dress rehearsal, so everything can go right on the day". I will never forget their kindness and will remember the delicious cake and brownies forever!

Customers rave about the exceptional hot cross buns, fresh sandwiches, meat pasties, sausage rolls, and Tottenham cake. While some note that the white bread may contain butter or oil, overall, the bakery is highly recommended for its tasty offerings at reasonable prices.
Fantastic traditional bakers. Great warmed or cold fresh sandwiches / rolls. Keep this little gem alive.

Lovely local bakery store. Humble and old fashioned but has a unique character and charm because of it. The important thing is that the bread is so tasty and is definitely amongst the best around the area... And I really love my bread! Reasonably priced too and always get a friendly service from staff. Update: Noticed the white bread appears to contain butter or oil. The paper wrapping is usually rather greasy time I get back home. In these times where we like to know exactly what is in our food... This may put some people off.

Old school traditional bakery which makes really nice Danish pastries.

recently bought a homemade tuna sandwich 6/ 10 and also purchased a Danish Apple turnover with cinnamon as it looked & sounded great... couldn't taste any cinnamon & it had approximately a tea spoon of Apple flavoured gel in it. 2/ 10 .

Bought four exceptional Hot Cross Buns today. Shame I will have to wait a whole year for the next ones. These are the best HCbuns I have EVER had. The peel gives a wonderful citrus kick and the tops were so yummy and sticky with a large cross of yumminess. 40p each AMAZING.

Lovely fresh bread, and the meat pasties I had were delicious and full of meat! I knew they'd be good when I felt how heavy they were! 😋

My go to place for fresh bread! Simply the best! I like to get there early while the bread is still warm. Great service from the lovely ladies! Thoroughly recommended.

Bake Bakery is a charming cafe located near Chalkwell sea front, just a short walk from the station. Visitors have praised its delicious sandwiches and exceptional ice lattes. The menu offers a variety of options including breakfast sandwiches in ciabatta or bagels, as well as an array of specials and cakes at reasonable prices. It's considered a great local bakery with a wide selection to choose from, making it worth a visit when passing by.
Never tried this place, so here goes. Very good menu, The shop is well laid out, Nice and clean, LOADS of choice. Good prices. Pleasant seating area outside. After having a coronation chicken sandwich (which was very tasty, although no napkins), I can say the food was MORE than worth the £4 for lunch. Excellent. The only thing, for me, was the girl taking the order, seemed a little sour.

I was so looking forward to having this cake, I asked if it was fresh cream or fake as I call it ie patisserie and the lady advised real, got home and cut it open, took a bite and realised there was mould. A lot of mould. So disappointed, and it wasn’t fresh cream.

Lovely little cafe near Chalkwell sea front. Turn right when you exit the station and stay on the right side of the footway. The cafe is less than 5 minutes from the station. Really enjoyed the sandwiches and would definitely return. The ice latte was exceptionally good 👍🏼. All in all we had: Two large ice lattes Full Monty breakfast sandwich in a ciabatta Breakfast in a bagel 🥯 All for a cost of just over £14

Lovely cakes and sandwiches but not open till 4.30pm as advertised. I’ve been along twice now at 14.50 and 15pm and they have been shut. I think they are only open till 1/2pm maybe for lunchtime only customers.
Sue K — Google review
The 1st time I ate here it was amazing so I decided to come back. The sandwich I was given tasted awful and you could tell it was rushed. There was no butter, the bread was soggy and when I opened it from the wrapping everything was everywhere. Such a shame as the 1st time was so nice. Whilst in there the staff were talking about how slow the last hour would be, so I'd like to have thought they'd put a bit more effort into the food.

Great local bakery with a vast selection on offer. Slowly working my way through the specials! Meal deal is good value.

It says 4.30 closed on the door. Turned up at 3.40 to be met with staff hurriedly clearing away the place. They looked at me like I was crazy when I asked if I could be served and was told no we’re shut. There’s always an atmosphere of can’t be bothered here so I won’t be bothering to return. Lots of other places.

Having just moved to the area I was chuffed to see a nice little bakery at the bottom of the road. I’ve been several times now and every time anything bread based I’ve had has been incredibly dry. Donuts, bagels, bread, pastries, and sandwiches… all dry as a bone. It’s such a shame as all the savoury fillings I’ve had have been great. I would be a regular if this wasn’t the case.

Horrible staff. Issues with providing ketchup with sausage and pasty. They say it’s not written but we only provide with hot food, seriously ? This is not the first time we visited greggs.

Nice and clean and excellent services! However, the company policy charging a different prices for sugar tax is not acceptable. The biast stands when you have a coffee you have sugar at your discretion for FREE, now, when you buy a fizzy drink with sugar they charge you for the tax, it is a joke. I would of give 5 to this store but do to no fault of the employees I gave a 3 and to be honest the company does not deserve the 3 star rating.
