On arrival I opened the door and the room smelt so strongly of bleach yet still seemed unclean. The futon in the room was stained and incredibly disgusting, the fridge contained a half used glass of water, the walls and touch points seemed very unclean. I made the big mistake of running a black light over the room. The next major red flag was the cockroach infestation in the room. A number of these small roaches appeared and climbed over my items. I had the pleasure of spending my 21st birthday here and our host treated my family, friends and I to a tasting on the house and a beautiful moscato for the drive home! The whole experience was filled with so many laughs and wines tailored to all of our guests pallets. The lady running it was extremely knowledgeable, and told us about her experience producing wine, as well as sharing with us in -depth detail about the wine we were tasting and the history of the site. Meals looked and tasted very rushed despite the length of time taken to serve out. 3 staff at the front bar doing very little but only chef and 1 kit hand in kitchen. No communication that there was an issue in the kitchen until over an hour after we started asking how long entree’s and kids meal would take. After 90 min we were offered a soft drink and told that dinner would be there soon. Premise was clean and well presented. such a pity that the kitchen was so poorly staffed and managed and the ribs were very over priced for what was served up ( go to the Australian hotel Cessnock and have a real sized rack of ribs for cheaper ). One of the worst dinning experiences I have had and won’t be back.
