I love castles, but this time I can tell that I did not feel at ease in it. I supposed to find more informations about the Maguire family and their history, instead what I found was a war museum where tanks are pointed towards the castle as if to symbolise the supremacy of England over this Irish family that was the owner of the castle.

On our first trip to the north of Ireland we stopped in Enniskillen for a quick break by a river bank. On a whim we decided to have a look around Enniskillen Castle. £6 each for tickets which is very very reasonable in my opinion. We didn’t really follow any predetermined path, just started rambling. The condition of all the pieces displayed is excellent. And the information plaques are great snippets in to railway life past. There IS actually a barbers shop in the middle. People waiting like at a station for their hair cut, but don't be put off, carry on through to a other 2 rooms of displays. Baiba is a phenomenal baker, an incredible artist and the loveliest person. We went to the cake tasting and honestly almost ended up with a twelve tier cake because every single flavour was heaven. We ended up choosing a four tier cake - Salted caramel, White Chocolate and Raspberry, Chocolate, and Lemon. All tiers were absolutely divine and our guests LOVED it.
The look of the cake really blew us away though. We had asked for a very whimsy style with texture and green colour and oh my gosh Baiba delivered all of that and more. We've attached a picture but honestly it doesn't do justice to how stunning this cake was.
Thank you so much again Baiba you were wonderful and the wedding cake was so bespoke to our style and personality. You're a genius!
