We had reasonably high expectations of our one night stay at the hotel given we paid about $280 for the night. The room itself was nice and spacious and had all of the amenities you would expect. Unfortunately the shower was slightly broken so water would come out of both the top and bottom shower head and the switch was broken. The room had a heating system but no thermostat to control your own temperature (slightly annoying but the room was warm so we managed). Lastly, there was a coffee machine but we were told we could only use one capsule each for free and after that would be charged which is very disappointing for the price we paid. The restaurant was average. We ate dinner there and the food was nothing special but not too expensive either. Breakfast was included in our room but this was another disappointment. The spread was small, the pastries and bread were stale and there was no staff there to replenish supplies. The butter had run out but of course there was no one to ask to get more, there were scrambled eggs available but no egg station (which is available at every other hotel at this price point). Lastly, the hotel didn't have their own transfer service to the airport. They enlisted a third party company to do the transfers. When we asked for a transfer to Calama airport we asked for the transfer at 10:30. The best they could do was a range of 10:30-11:15. So we essentially had to sit around in reception hoping the transfer would come on time to make our flight. The transfer was also a group transfer (not a huge issue but the fact that a hotel this expensive didn't have their own transfer service is very disappointing). The second more major example was when our van was driven off the road during an exploration, nearly rolling down a small hill, and getting stuck in deep sand. I booked a superior room and they walked me to a room at the back at the hotel that was not what I booked. I promptly asked to be moved. The staff is extremely unfriendly.
