Cookies are fresh out of the oven and taste great and it's nice to have a variety to choose from. Tomato soup is really good, best I've found in town. Grilled cheese is really good as well, though close to what you can make at home. Would be better with sourdough bread or something like that to make it worth the cost. As a person that eats GF and DF, I needed to check this place out while I was in town. I got a gluten-free and dairy-free chocolate cup cake with white frosting. My partner got a regular German chocolate cupcake. As we were checking out, we saw the cookies sign on the wall and asked about the GF/DF cookies. They needed to be baked so we waited 10 min for them. Got the gluten-free chocolate one and the gluten-free and dairy-free peanut butter ones. My partner ate his cupcake while we waited for the cookies. I took all mine home as the cookies were freshly baked and needed a few to cool down. I asked my partner about his cupcake he said it was fine. I tried my cupcake, and I can tell you the cake itself was AMAZING! It had good flavor, was moist and all around yummy. But I can also tell you I hated the frosting; it tasted like it was made from Crisco and I promptly discarded it. I hate to do this when it is a small bakery, but I feel I must be honest.
Parking was also difficult at night when a dance class was in session.

Unfortunately my impressions didn't change. The owners did not offer to replace the cupcakes, but instead insisted that delivery services NEVER make mistakes and that my son was not telling the truth about the delivery. We were given a prompt refund and a curt goodbye. (hung up on me), in DMs the wife said multiple times to "tell my son to stop gaslighting me and make him tell the truth." It was a bizarre interaction and maybe the worst customer service I've experienced anywhere.

We ordered cupcakes to be delivered for our Buff's 21st birthday, as we live out of town. Cupcakes never came, no correspondence telling us there was a problem. We're so bummed we weren't able to send anything for our child's birthday since we can't be together. I chose a shortbread cookie with chocolate chips that was as tasty and fresh as it sounds.
The art on the walls are done by a local artist and the oil paintings pop out with vibrancy that welcome you into the tiny little shop.
The employees are decorated with tattoos and friendly and helpful, especially since we blew in from the street on a very blustery day!
I could’ve easily spent the entire morning there and crowds of people entered and left and with the atmosphere, so entirely comfortable, like you’re sitting in your best friend’s kitchen, chatting to save the world with your best friend over Blueberry tea.

Smelled delicious in there and I can’t speak for their confections, so if you’re going for something besides coffee, maybe ignore my review. But I ordered a latte and it was not a latte. As a former college barista (weren’t we all 🤷🏼♀️) I can say that she likely just stuck the steam wand in and straight up boiled the milk, the ratio of espresso to milk to foam was way off.. basically watery, overcooked milk, no foam. The price was a few dollars less than the downtown Boulder coffees, but that doesn’t really count for anything if you have no interest in finishing the drink.

I used to come here almost every day for the past five years and always enjoyed the friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. Sadly, those days seem to be over. The prices have steadily increased, and they’ve done away with what was once a simple courtesy—offering at least one free refill.
On my last visit, I spent $30 on coffee and pastries. When I asked for a second cup, I was flatly denied because I brought my own cup instead of using theirs. I mentioned that for years, staff had always honored at least one refill (some even provided unlimited refills), but the response I got was dismissive at best. When I asked if they could make a concession given my loyalty and recent purchase, I was told by the manager, “We’re not going to succumb to being guilted into giving you a free cup of coffee.”

Have been to this place over a dozen times in previous yrs, however going there yesterday w/a friend was very disappointing. It was noon and you would expect the place to be busy as in yrs past. There was no one in line at the food line and two women employees were chatting it up w/each other and looking at their phones as we motioned to them. Ordered our soup w/bread and went to pay w/no one there. Seven mins later, a short man w/glasses came around the back w/his mouth full. No greeting, apology, etc. At that point, three other people were behind us obviously not happy w/this employee’s cavalier attitude and having to wait.
There were appx eight people having pastries or lunch and almost every empty table was dirty along w/the chairs full of crumbs. We ended up finding a half clean table and saw a man half heartedly cleaning a few tables passing by several that needed cleaning.

This is our halfway point this morning. I thought I would break out a spinach pie so I went to the soup counter sometimes the soups are yummy… But today the three flavors did not taste great to me.
So I moved to the hot food line… I got the spinach pie… And the side kale salad.
Just so you know I always order salad with 130 amount of dressing. I don’t like dressing. But when I started choking on the dry cow. I went back to the counter and asked if there was any dressing. She said she have no dressing.
I asked if there was dressing already in the shower she said there was I suggested it wasn’t enough. She said they didn’t have any left. Is anybody in the kitchen tasting this food? If they have a salad with no discernible dressing… Should they put it out anyway? Obviously they should and they do.
I augmented this meal with a pop-over from the bakery counter.
The pop-over was so over cooked that the crust peeled off of the rest of the pop over.

This place has become a major disappointment. My crepe with egg, cheese, and potato contained chunks of French fries instead of potatoes, and the egg inside was raw. When I asked the waiter if it was supposed to be raw, he said, "It’s supposed to be over easy," and walked away. I enjoy eggs cooked over easy, but this one wasn’t cooked at all.
They used to serve crepes with a side of cooked potatoes, but now they cut corners and use French fries instead. This was my first time checking out Moxie. I was really excited to try the cinnamon rolls because they had great reviews and the girl working really sold me on them so I got one for my partner and one for me. Disappointed when I got home as I found they were both burnt almost all the way through. You can see in the pictures they’re basically black but just covered with icing. I think this must’ve just been a bad day but if the item is over baked to this extent it shouldn’t be sold.
Giving a 4 star review because I got a couple of other things which were good and the girls working and helping me were really nice. The ham & cheese croissant was really great, they say it’s a bit smoky and I don’t typically like smoky flavored things but it wasn’t too strong so I thought it was great. Also tried the butter toffee cookie (a flavor I wouldn’t normally be drawn to but they recommended it and it was great), and the ginger molasses. I wish they were a bit chewier, but flavor was still good. Ginger molasses was a very strong ginger molasses so if you’re not a fan of strong ginger, I wouldn’t recommend.
I’d go back to try other things. Im just so disappointed in the cinnamon roll and that they would sell me TWO even when they were burnt to a crisp. They were $5 each so that’s $10 down the drain.

Shamane's Bakery has been our favorite bakery in Boulder for years. Every single item of food, baked or otherwise, is absolutely delicious. It is so clear that Shamane's puts care and love into everything they do.
I am writing especially now because my husband and I were so fortunate to have Shamane bake our wedding cake. We got the French Lemon Pound Cake as well as Devil's Food Candied Orange, and they were both mouth-watering.

Wowie. I came here about a year and a half ago, before I had google maps, and remember this place as being a nice bakery in boulder, I also happened to grab a take and bake pie while I was there. I had initially planned on serving it the next time I had a party for dessert. Put it in the freezer and COMPLETELY SPACED!! Come back to two days ago (7/26/2025), when I’m cleaning my freezer out and here I find this pie. I figure I might as well make it, so I thaw it out overnight in the fridge. Simple instructions, and I follow them. The pie comes out of the over piping hot and a beautiful golden brown crust. Unfortunately, the top crust tasted like my freezer (but I take full responsibility, it was my fault for leaving it in the freezer for so long), but the filling and bottom crust were amazeballs. I believe it was an apple pie, and it had cranberries and a few blackberries as well. It is not a typical apple pie, but has sort of a more modern taste to it, and it’s delicious. The crust was crumbly to the touch and sooo buttery. I wish all pies could have this crust.
I beg you, please, do not make the mistake of leaving it in the freezer for a year and a half, but bake it sooner than later, and just enjoy this delectable pie.
I cannot wait to stop in again soon to try some more things.

The macchiato … was wow… do you ever have something that’s supposed to be coffee flavored but you’re like yeah that’s coffee-ISH? This was definitely not lacking on the espresso flavor. It was staring into the blackness of the soft moist cake underneath, and almost fell in completely. But I only took one bite of this one because I am afraid that it might keep me up at night so I have to eat the rest tomorrow. Or maybe the only thing keeping me up is I only bought one.
I also tried a ginger molasses (I think?) which wasn’t as distinctly flavored as the others relatively, but was still quite tasty.
I also had some brownie bites, but they are very cake like a little bit spongy with a good flavor but for me - but maybe I am more of a fudgy brownie person? I got them for my dad who loves gluten free brownies.
Overall, I would highly recommend this bakery for a gluten-free vegan place because nothing tastes fake and nothing tastes grainy- and nothing is dry or too crumbly. Which means they’re rocking it here for the gluten-free world.

The cake was very good. You can't go wrong with this place being gluten free. They have zero room for custom orders. I wanted to have one layer of cake replaced by a other and they refused. I also asked for it to be decorated for a birthday party. In less than ten minutes from the car to King Soopers and then to my dad's across the street, the lettering stuck to the top of the box, because they didn't put any cardboard in to protect it. Was in Boulder with my daughter for a CU admitted student event. Very close to campus and parking was easy to find on side streets just a few blocks away. Great menu options and even a quick grab-n-go section too! I was offered a sample of their homemade sweet potato curry soup and it was amazing! I ended up ordering a cup with my BLT on sourdough. We used Mom’s Pies for our recent wedding, and they were a pleasure to work with from our initial tasting to the day of the ceremony. The hardest part in working with them was choosing which pies to select, as all of them were delicious. In the end we decided on the peach, blueberry, and chocolate cream pies. The crust was flaky and the filling was fabulous. They were able to use as many local and organic ingredients as possible as well as offer gluten-free pies. I've been eating their items since they began and my absolute favorite is their keto buns (but truly, everything is delicious).
