I've heard so much about this place, so I finally decided to check it out! Honestly, the hype is totally justified—it was packed with people, and there were some folks waiting for a table.
Luckily, we got seated pretty quickly! We ordered the famous Chilly Chicken, some wonton soup, and burst garlic rice.

Chung Fa has an old-school setup that carries a certain nostalgic charm. We tried the veg wonton soup, veg chowmein, veg Manchurian, and chilly paneer dry. Among these, the wonton soup stood out and met our expectations. The rest of the dishes, however, were quite bland and lacked flavor. A heritage place and the second oldest Chinese restaurant in Lucknow. While I expected some authentic old style Indian Chinese, it was strictly okay. The peking soup was awesome but the chow mein and the chilli chicken were nothing great. Portions are huge and cost is low but they could improve the taste.

Chung Fa has been our favorite forever and usually feels like a guaranteed 10 out of 10. This visit, though, the experience slipped. We ordered a tomato soup and what arrived tasted like watered-down ketchup. We spoke to the manager and he actually admitted they had made the soup using ketchup. No surprise it was completely off in both flavor and texture. They really need to take the tomato soup off the menu if this is how they’re preparing it!
The rest of the meal reminded us why we’ve liked this place for so long. The bone-in chili chicken was spot on and the chicken chowmein was great.

I was extremely disappointed with my recent visit to Jone Hing which is supposed to be the best Chinese restaurant in town. Firstly, they only accepted cash and no option for payments through UPI or cards. We ordered chicken American sweet corn soup, chicken Peking soup, chicken chili, and fried rice. Unfortunately the soup they served us was stale and had a bad odour. Moreover the crispy noodles they brought to us were burnt, and we had to ask for a replacement. Unfortunately the second serving of crispy noodles was also not good as they were too oily and it seemed like they were fried in cold oil. Due to the poor quality of the food we decided to cancel the rest of our order and pay only for the soup. We left the place feeling extremely disappointed and I would not recommend it to anyone.

It's an old chinese restaurant opened during 80's. The Ambiance was quite authentic. With dim lights dragon flies posters on the wall, buddha statue the feel was awesome. Coming to the food, the taste of the food was similar as before. Both the quantity and quality was good. Bit over prized. And the main thing they don't accept digital payment. Kindly carry cash. It is situated near baan wali gali. Food is actually good but the thing which is really degrading this place is his owner's arrogant behaviour towards their customers. The owner has no basic civic sense. In my opinion, currently everything here is overpriced whether it is momo, chilli potato or chowmin. Hygiene was also a big deal in this cart. The parking guy at the hotel said that if I allow him to park, it would be free, however, if I insist on parking myself, it would cost me ₹200. I said you only park. China House is on first floor. Went to have a Birthday celebratory lunch. Reached late and buffet was about to be over in less than 30 mins, so ordered A la carte. Ordered Rs. 1000+ caesar salad with add ons along with drinks.
What I got 2 leaves of lettuce broken into smaller parts along with few small pieces of bread marinated with some sauces. If I would not had ordered addons hopefully I would had got full 4 leaves, but they reduced 2 leaves and adjusted the space in their small plates with 2 addons (priced separately).
The best part was that two other groups on the adjacent tables were also fighting for meagre quantities served for hefty amount charged.
Last but not the least, proper bill was also not provided.
Experience ruined the mood and had to leave for another restaurant.

We visited yesterday, Tables were clean and all the mess was dumped under the table by service folks. Although it was all day dining, but service staff was less and they didn't discourage people to use dirty plates every time Which was un hygienic. The place has got three priority elevated seating areas and we were lucky enough to be score one of those which made the experience even more enjoyable. The restaurant has got ample seating space and dedicated play area for kids and a separate (though small) dance floor. The food is also good and the vegetarian options are quite plenty. Garlic naan was my personal favourite. Though the price is a little on the higher side, the quality of food compensates it really well. However, while visiting this place again in Aug 2025 made me realise that some places are just irreplaceable.
