Ok, a quick, sad vent. We have been ordering Uber Eats from New Dragon City in Cambridge for a few years. Food is good. Last night they attached a receipt to our order with their internal
pricing and it was 40% less than what we had been paying. I called and chatted with the owner to understand why. I don’t like to complain or leave negative reviews but I feel like people should know how things taste before they order food from a new place. So here is my honest review.
We got 2 combo plates that were below average, standard Chinese food. The food was very greasy, which is usually pretty normal for Chinese food like this, but this seemed extra greasy. I’m actually surprised I even noticed this though, considering the pool of sauce it was swimming in. My rice was soaked in it
Some people like extra sauce and that’s fine, but I personally prefer my rice not to be soupy. I could have asked for it on the side, but then I would have had to pay.
Also just a heads up to anyone with food dye sensitivity - the sweet and sour sauce left red stains on everything it touched, including my skin.
The other dishes might be good, but I wouldn’t recommend ordering the combo plates.

We have ordered from here a few times. The food has been decent quality usually. We have found that some dishes are a waste because they're just filler veggies and about 2-5 small pieces of meat. Tonight it was a letdown. The kung pao chicken was all veggies and you had to search to find the chicken. The chicken chop suey was very very watery. It was difficult to open without spilling it. The egg rolls were good and the sweet & sour chicken was delicious as always. We will have to be very selective with what we order next time, if we order again from here.

Visited this restaurant recently and I had a very good experience. Chicken Vermicelli was spot on and it will be my favourite dish. I had minor issue with Satay Chicken with Rice Noodle, as chicken felt overcooked and rubbery.
Other items we tried were Mango Avacado Rolls which is a good try and Vegetable and chicken dumpling which is usual. It was a good atmosphere which seats filled and had lot of moving crowd. Overall a good dine in experience.

I was craving Vietnamese noodles and visited this restaurant close to closing time. The place is quite large. We ordered the vermicelli noodles and the regular beef pho to share. The taste was just average,not particularly impressive. Usually, at Vietnamese restaurants, there are small bowls on the table for sauces. Used to grab lunch here whenever downtown and food was consistently great. It had been a while since we were in the area so recently ordered take out. Still excellent and reasonably priced. They do excellent vegetarian spring rolls, and a favourite is the crispy chicken with peanut sauce. It comes with plain steamed rice and a crunchy mix of bean sprouts, shredded carrots and onions. They’re a very busy place, and understandably so. During our entire 40 mins visit to the restaurant, we were asked if we were ready to order/ready for a takeout box 4 times, which was not my favourite part of the experience.
The menu has a very interesting selection, and the back kitchen definitely has the competency to make it. The back kitchen looked very clean too, which was great.
For anyone expecting authentic Asian flavours, though, do note that this is more of a retro fusion place. They do a good job tailoring the taste of the dishes towards the preferences of their preferred customers. Came to Saffron last to last year and went again this past Sunday — and wow, this place still slaps. The food is next-level. Their Malai Kofta? Unreal. Literally to die for.

After moving to the cambridge, we were looking for a restaurant with good food. Finally we have found one. The masala tikka paneer is my favourite one. The gol gappe and the dahi puri is so good. Honestly, this experience was bad. Paid just under $70 for 3 dishes for takeout last month, and they were all bad - See the photos. The first concern should be that there was not 1 person in the restaurant just before 7 pm on a Thursday. The Noodle dish was definitely cooked a day or more ago and sat in the fridge. Came across this gem of a restaurant in the downtown of Cambridge (Galt). They serve up real authentic Chinese food, just like the restaurants that I went to as a kid in eastern Ontario. Once Upon a Time every small town in Ontario had a Chinese restaurant. George's has been open for over 76 years and is still run by the original owner's family.
I had some take out food earlier this week and the egg rolls were to die for. They're handmade every morning at the restaurant along with their homemade plum sauce. You can taste the difference!

I always passed by this place when I was taking the bus and was always curious. This spot was great happy to say I got the butter chicken masala and the steamed mo mo. The chicken was tender in a nice rich sauce and the mo mo was perfect texture not runny or mushy at all with a delicious salty and fatty meat filling. We came to My Thai restaurant for lunch and it was nice and quiet, plus the aesthetic of the place was nice. We placed an order of Pad Thai ($18) and Massaman Curry ($18), and our dishes each came with a complimentary spring roll. The portions were good and very filling.
The Pad Thai was really flavourful, the noodles were bouncy, and there were varieties of different proteins inside: peanuts, tofu, chicken, shrimp, and egg. It was however a bit oily.
The curry was enjoyable with a sweet creamy coconut milk, sweet potatoes and a choice of protein either beef or chicken.
The only downside was that there were flies buzzing around at our time of visit and they kept trying to land on our food, which is perhaps just a circumstance of it being Summer.
I do recommend this Thai restaurant, and while you’re there enjoy the Grand River and the historical buildings around!

The hot & sour soup did not disappoint, it packs a punch though, spicy from the chili, and sour from the vinegar. The spring roll was excellent and definitely homemade. Chicken almond vegetable had a hint of sweet, just perfect. You won't find authentic Chinese food dishes here like smashed cucumber salad, sesame noodles, etc but the dishes they do serve are made with love!

And the rice was obviously reheated and still in the shape of the container it was heated in. This is now my favourite place to dine in with family we always visit and never get disappointed. Today we planned to do buffet on Father’s Day and they make special buffet with Punjabi style chicken saag and egg curry. Everything was so delicious even they put so many options in veg buffet as well. Tandoori chaap was mouth watering they serve fresh naan on the tables. Service also good.

I am highly impressed with J.C. Royal Thai Cuisine. The establishment offers the best Thai food in the local area, and their prices are reasonable for the generous portions they serve. I’m Thai and always crave som tum (papaya salad) with my meal, and when I ordered, he said he’d check to see if they had the ingredients, since they usually have to throw them out as not enough people order it. She was able to make it, and honestly, one of my favourites! Super fresh, and super tasty (definitely ask for it to be spicy if you can handle the heat!). Seems like a family rum small business that take care and pride in their establishment and their food. The menu is huge like many thai places. Every restaurant will make food a little differently with their own twist. We loved the food and the crispy spring rolls were great. They were skinny by crispy and delicious. The yello and red curries could have had a bit of a stronger taste, we felt the flavor was a bit mild and toned down. The flavor could have been punchier for our taste and compared to some other popular tha places. It was rather mild. I'm so glad I found this spot so close to home. I would usually go all the way to Waterloo for poke, and it's nice to see I have a way closer option now. Hungry ninja has a 10x better price. Possibly the worst meal ever. A ninja was a mercenary in feudal Japan. And like a true Ninja, this restaurant slaughtered this meal. The sashimi had bones in it. Not one piece but two. Bones! Going to this spot for pick up was so nostalgia for me! It definitely reminds me of the old, hometown Chinese spot where I come from. HOEVER, I really wish I could get passed the smell of the place. It was so stale and over powering I almost had to wait outside to pick up our food. I was digging feeling like I was walking in to a huge time warp (to say the restaurant is out of date is an understatement) but the smell was just so off putting.
We got Cantonese chow mein, beef and broccoli, lemon chicken ..chicken wings and two egg rolls .

When this place first opened it was decent. I went a couple times after and the quality of food and prep was noticeably declining. Today, I gave it another shot, however, I was heavily disappointed as I ordered two beef pad Thais with mild spice. The noodles were over done, clumpy and dry. The beef was overdone and dry. I don’t know what changed since they opened, but unfortunately, I DO NOT recommend eating here as the quality of their dishes is poor and overpriced for how bad it is.
