The owner, Sarah, is without doubt the main reason we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Coombe Trenchard. She is so welcoming, friendly and, despite my constant stream of questions, nothing ever phased her or was too much trouble. A few days before our wedding, I was feeling incredibly overwhelmed and stressed - Sarah was fantastic and put all my worries at ease, stating that she would sort everything out for me. This meant that I was able to enjoy the run-up, as well as the wedding itself, as much as everyone else. The house itself is absolutely beautiful, set in acres of gorgeous grounds and gardens, with views of Dartmoor beyond. We had struggled to agree on a venue before discovering Coombe Trenchard, but we both knew as soon as we stepped foot in the door that this was the place we wanted to be. We initially wanted to get married under the clock tower outside, but had to put our wet-weather plan into action and had our ceremony in the equally stunning main hall instead. Guests were provided with umbrellas for venturing outside for photos and blankets to take the chill off (the fires had also thoughtfully been lit, which definitely helped our elderly guests in particular). Our wedding breakfast and reception took place in the Coach House, which has a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The Peacock bar is also a great addition to this venue and very much enjoyed by our guests in the evening. Our day went by in a fantastic blur - waking up the next morning in the peace and tranquillity of Coombe Trenchard was a welcome calm, made even better by the amazing breakfast cooked for us.
