(원문) Absolutely brilliant place to visit! We found Pennywell farm when searching for somewhere to visit en route to our holiday park. Even on a wet Monday we still had a fantastic time. There’s plenty of animals to feed in the dry. Feed was available to purchase at the entrance/shop. The goats will definitely make you giggle. From the incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable staff giving talks, to holding a piglet. Both children aged 2yrs old were fully engaged and made to feel welcomed by staff. There’s also plenty of hand washing stations located around the site. The views from the top of the viewing tower give you a 360 panorama of picturesque Scenery which all compliment its truly beautiful location. We loved it so much we returned on the Friday, on our way home from our holiday. If you have the opportunity to pay Pennywell farm a visit it’s well worth it! (원문) We went as a mixed family party of ten, age range from Great Nan at 76 to the youngest just a few months. Pumpkin Day was fantastic, the weather was cold but the rain held off. Cuddles with mice, rabbits, guinea pigs and pigs indoors was extremely well organised and overseen by friendly, helpful staff with complete emphasis on the animals welfare. Same for the pig racing and we were very happy and impressed. Food available was pretty good, but difficult to find something for my 9yr old grandson,as he has very severe allergies to milk, cheese, gluten and even soy and there really wasn't anything he could have. cross contamination couldn't be ruled out. I understand that they can't cater for these problems,but might i suggest that at least a few gluten free with vegan cheese pizzas could be kept in the freezer for people with these sorts of problems?. Then they'd always be able to offer something.It's hard when he has to always take his own food and can't join in with everyone else. That said, they were as helpful as they could be and did have fruit juices he could have. We thoroughly enjoyed our day out together seeing the animals and playing in the play areas, taking photos and making memories. Came away with a few unusual pumpkins and plenty of smiles. (원문) A fantastic experience for all ages. The butterfly sanctuary is almost unique - there are few places that allow people to walk directly through an open habitat to find what they can. Two warnings - it is significantly more humid than the local area, and it can smell of the ripe/rotting fruit they feed on. We don't get much time to ourselves as it is, and after a long week at work, we just wanted to unwind together, not with other people. When I first mentioned this, we were told it was because they wanted to get as many people in for the event as possible and it was a sense of community. I appreciate the community vibes but again, it should have been mentioned. I also think getting as many people in to enjoy the event is fair, but it has to be comfortable. When we were seated, I could see that my partner was uncomfortable with the setup, so I went back up to the bar and explained how we felt. Kindly, we were moved to a table nearer the front with just two covers. It was awkward having to tell the other diners we were moving (the situation could have been avoided) but at least we were moved. Unfortunately, the table was extremely close to other people, so close that the diner on the side of my partner pretty much shared his chair as an arm rest! It was the best we were going to get so we just tried to make the most of it. We did end up moving back to another table nearer the back because the bingo and raffle was extremely loud (music was OK but maybe we are getting old!). This could have been much worse if I had actually had it but thankfully it was noticed! Again, the event was great. Not sure why Bingo was crammed in before it? Food was great. The only small drawbacks were the main course was served without cutlery which we had to ask for and a table that wobbled until I stuffed a menu underneath the leg which is the only area where the Cott Inn lost points, and I sincerely mean that this review is actually 4.95 stars (if Google allowed) because these and the parking were the only drawbacks as they are only very very small attentions to detail that I would feedback! Our food was delivered in a timely manner and the friendliness of the staff was all very satisfactory, I would just advise not to rest on the laurels of exceptional food quality to miss out on very minor attention to detail that would have made this experience 10/10! We will return with hopeful expectations as the general experience was very good and hopefully sling a 5 stars result your way! We stayed as a treat to spend the weekend exploring Dartmoor. The Room: We had booked a superior twin room, expecting a certain standard of quality and comfort. Unfortunately I didn't take photos of the dinner, but my friends broccoli with the pie was grey and sad. If you have a modicum of interest in well cooked food, this is not the place for you. I think the food itself overpriced but can get over, the service prior to complaining about the room was really good. How they have dealt with things since has been really rubbish. You wouldn't event get this in a Travelodge or premier inn. Don't trust the 5* reviews- go elsewhere for food and your stay!

We were staying under half a mile away and as we had eaten here previously for lunch I decided to give it a try as they have an excellent gluten free menu. On paper the menu had excellent choices. We were told the pie is cooked fresh and would take 30 minutes which we agreed was ok. However 1 hour & 20 minutes later the food arrived just as we were about to pay for our drinks and leave. The burger was ok and tasty. However the pastry on the pie was raw and the gravy was watery with no flavour and wasn’t eaten because it was inedible. We felt bad and the lady offered to make something else but I reminded her how long we had waited for the food so I left hungry which my husband wasn’t happy about. I just don’t understand why the food took so long because from what we could see we were the only customers in the restaurant. What a shame because the pub is in a lovely setting and we enjoyed sitting outside for drinks before dinner but we also couldn’t understand why it was so quiet at 6pm. I must say it was the worst meal that I’ve ever had so won’t be returning next year. Even though we were not charged for my meal which was a nice gesture from the waitress it’s not enough to persuade us to return next year.
