The 14 best breakfast and brunch in Guimaraes

This is my most favourite cafe in Guimaraes. The Jesuita (or mini Jezuita) is just the best!And you can get good and fresh pastery even in the night! The staff people are very nice, friendly and the service is proper. Highly recommend for a true local experience.

My last breakfast before leaving Guimarães! Came recommended by a friend and didn't regret it. Large coffee (abatanado), pastel de nata, lanche com salsicha (sausage snack) and Bola de Berlim (Berlin ball) for 3,50. The abatanado was to my taste, stronger than in other places, which served kinda watery coffee (to my taste, of course). Pastries were good as always in Portugal, and the price was fair.

There are a lot of different português pasteries and they are mostly delicious. I definitely recommend broas de mel and toucinho do céu.

Well it is just GREAT! Fresh bread and pastries! Amazing toasted bread, you have several options to choose from! I asked for a latte and they were so kind to bring hot and cold milk and manage the temperature next to me as per my request! Super friendly staff and delicious food! Presentation 5 stars!

Excellent pastry in Guimarães. Here you can find high quality, fresh and tasteful products for your breakfast or even lunch. The toasts and juices are great! The shop is located in a calm surrounding (+- 2km from Guimarães city center) and there is plenty room to park the car. Great spot!

After ordering a cappuccino, we got some instant nescafe water. After explaining what we had in mind by saying "cappuccino" we got coffee and hot milk what tasted ok-ish. Juice was tasty. Sweets were also ok-ish. Bonus star for very cheap price.

Highly Recommended, to an evening snack , like a huge toast and fresh squeezed orange juice, or some Brunch, and relax a bit with the family.

This was a lovely breakfast place we tried out on our holiday. The food was delicious and we had a good start to the day. Service was fast. Bathrooms were clean as well.

Ordered some food then asked for a recommendation on a drink. Both were amazing, but I got my coffee within 2 minutes, while the french toast came 10-15 mins after, so I had slowly finished my coffee by then. I was about to leave, thinking there had been some confusion on what I ordered, as the staff was just chatting to eachother at the counter (place was empty). I would probably have given 5 stars otherwise. Other than that, a little pricey, but I would surely visit again next time I'm in the city. Staff were very chill & friendly.

The food was nice, I liked the black sesame latte (vegan) and the orange juice. The truffle cream was very good too! Good spot and the staff speaks English The yoghurt bowls were nice 👍🏻 couldn't really taste the mango in the mango-licious one though.

I visited Benedito twice and I will be back for sure. The food looks great and it tastes fabulous. I love the avocado toast, with benedicts eggs but all other dishes were very good. The desserts are really appealing to the eyes and they taste accordingly :-) . The service is friendly and efficient. A “must visit” in Guimarães. An excelent value for money!

While looking at Instagram photos it was catchy!! Asked for a oat pancake with fruit and topping. (here you can't choose your fruit, that's not a good start, at least they should let you know which ones are available and which ones do you want). Presentation it's good, but could be very good! plus price/quality. But once you go there, you will see how expensive can be to just get a simple pancake. The menu isn't small, and you have a few options but unfortunately, isn't clear about the content. Asking staff they will let you know.

Asked for a Cappuccino because they said it was actually made there and it came from a can of powdered Cappuccino. It tasted like coffee with milk. Very bad. The cookie I ordered was also not very good - too thick and crunchy. The atmosphere is good and the staff was actually nice, apart from lying about the capuccino. There's sufficient parking space and it's wheelchair accessible.

Overall experience was great. The food quantity and quality was great as well as the staff, they were very friendly and welcoming.

The hotel is in the center of Guimarães. The room was clean and spacious. We booked a room with access to SPA. It was good. The water is warm, the swimming pool and sauna are clean. But aware that you can use it only 1 hour per day and you need to book it. We were provided with bathrobes, flip flops, towels and swimming caps. Also in the room there were hair dryer, towels, shampoo, shower gel, hair conditioner, body lotion etc. The service is good, the staff is friendly. Our room was on the 1st floor, but it was very quiet. Ac worked. Totally recommend it!

Had a lovely relaxing 3 days here. The location is perfect to wander the city & when it gets too hot, retreat to the large pool. Small rooms, but very clean & comfortable beds. Great reception & lounge area, with friendly staff.

The Hotel has an excellent service, everything was top. The localisation was great because the city is small and walkable everywhere, so the Hotel give you a great starting point. The room was confortable and the AC was appreciated considering the high temperatures of summer. The service team was excellent, always available, welcoming and helpful. So, on appearance Cafe Oscar is appealing, clean and nice decor, However, the coffee is extremely weak tasting, almost like hot water with a sprinkle of old coffee granules being reused. The Food… very plain tasting and the steak sandwich so tough that you need a knife to cut it before you can chew it. Very confused as to why this place has such a high score, either tourists just have no taste and leave good comments for anything they try OR the chef has changed. Either way probably best to avoid for now.

We stumbled upon this cafe while visiting Guimaraes and it was one of the best breakfasts we have ever had! The hot chocolate was incredible and the owner treated us like we were guests in his home. Amazing food and ambiance.
