Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Torre de Hércules, located in A Coruna, Spain, is an ancient Roman lighthouse that stands at 55 meters tall and is the second tallest in the country. It was originally built during the reign of Trajan and has been functioning since then. The lighthouse offers stunning views of the city and coastline from its top, which can be reached by climbing 245 steps.
Definitely the most important landmark of the city and most likely one of the most of northern Spain and Spain itself you’ll get not only immerse at the ancient story of this place, but also in a great views of the whole city and the ocean this place is amazing very well conserved and the tickets were actually very affordable. No doubt you should make this one of her stops my wife and I visit this during the morning and it was very affordable. The climb is moderate hard, bring, of course comfortable clothes and shoes it takes 15 minutes to 20 minutes climbing stairs to get up there, but you can rest up there enjoying a great views just heads up. Be careful of people asking for money in the parking lot. Just stay away if you can get there by public transit better.
Marcos D — Google review
Ticket boot is placed far away from the tower, so if you're coming a different way (from beach) you're going to miss it and you cannot enter. Online tickets are sold out as a rule. Anyway you can walk around and enjoy the wind from the ocean 🌊
Mersida B — Google review
We visited as part of a cruise stop in August. It's Worth being driven to the foot as its an uphill walk. The views get amazing with each step but it does require some exertion. If you want to see the roman ruins inside you need to book tickets. They are not sold at the entry so best check online. If you're tall, you will not be able to walk up straight in some areas but the lightening is good and artefacts are well labeled. There are stone stairs, at least 200, leading to the top of the tower which has even more majestic views. I advise pacing yourself and not being in a hurry to enjoy it fully and take time to catch your breath. Unless you're fit, don't have kids or the elderly with you. If you're claustrophobic this is not for you. Would highly recommend and would revisit at a more leisurely pace in the future. Don't forget to buy the tickets before arriving! You will certainly get your step count in!
Melinda ( — Google review
A spectacular feat of engineering of it's day, understanding the strategic and commercial importance of why it was built is a story in itself. Entry is by ticket purchased at the bottom of the long ramp or on line. Entry is every 30 minutes for a limited number of people ( perhaps 30) there is no one to hurry you and you could stay longer. There is an exhibition of it's history at the lower level then 234 steps (and no lift ;-) ). My only constructive criticism is that the information boards are poorly placed and not illuminated. I couldn't manage to read many of them.
Stephen T — Google review
I would highly recommend you to purchase tickets online. We got here at 2 o'clock and there was no line, and there was nobody here, but they refused to sell tickets, it is a beautiful place. It could be a wonderful sunset. It's a wonderful place to walk around lots to see just to the south, there's more stuff to see if you continue to walk down the boardwalk, I would suggest you be prepared to walk a long way up a hill, if you do not. Have the right shoes nor or have the ability to do so I would think twice about going there. It offers wonderful. It's sunset photos as well as evening photos at night with the lights during the day. They sell ice cream and drinks at night. There is nothing there. There's plenty of parking down on the bottom. And it appears that you can drive up the ramp, if you're handicapped, it does it appear that there is parking but I did see cars parking up there. On the hill, by the door.

The Torre de Hércules is more than a lighthouse — it’s a symbol of A Coruña’s identity. Visiting it is like stepping back in time, while enjoying some of the most spectacular views in Galicia. An absolute must-see for anyone coming to this beautiful coastal city
Haitham A — Google review
Torre de Hercules was such an amazing place to visit! The family had so much fun exploring the grounds. The views were amazing!
Derek C — Google review
The Torre de Hércules in A Coruña is seriously impressive—it’s actually the oldest working lighthouse in the world, dating back nearly 2,000 years to Roman times. Even without going inside, just walking around it is worth the visit. The views of the sea and the city from the cliffs nearby are absolutely stunning. It’s the kind of place where you can just stand and take it all in for a while. There’s a nice open feel to the area, and the mix of history and ocean makes it a really memorable stop.

Organised coach short tour via our cruise company, experienced local guide, font of knowledge, included visit to this park with on site restaurant/wedding venue; well looked after with tasty examples of tapas, tea/coffee & glass of wine. Great views of the city and its harbours, plus our cruise ship, in the middle distance.

We visited the park on a trip from our cruise ship. It was a miserable day, so unfortunately we didn't get many good views. But I can appreciate that in sunshine it would look pretty nice.

The aquarium is part of the city's more contemporary attractions along with the Domus and the Science Museum. A Coruna itself has a rich historical background dating back to Roman times when it served as an important port on navigation routes.
Nice trip around the aquarium. Interactive for children. Highlight was staff feeding the 10? seals at 12 noon. Nautilus downstairs was interesting too, a 360 degrees panorama of fish tank. We also spotted some cleaning going on, as in photo..
K D — Google review
Lovely visit to to Aquarium Finsterrae entrance was €10.30 per adult. Highlight of the Aquarium was the seals, several tanks featuring various species. Also on site is a gift shop. Staff were helpful and bi lingual so for the English among us there's no problem communicating. Location is easy to walk from Hercules Tower. Thankyou to the staff that made us feel so welcome.

Beautiful aquarium. It’s mostly in Spanish for those non-Spanish speakers. The exhibits are top notch and so educational. The marine life are varied. It’s a must see. Ask how the got their name!
Joe H — Google review
Nice aquarium with outdoor attraction of seals (only feeding and spain talk about them). Inside there are nice aqariums and many talking about fishes and sea But in spain only - no english. Ticket was fine price (family 28€) and you can pay by card.
Radek D — Google review
Great place to visit good value for money, only downside is there isn't much English translation mostly everything is in Spanish
Sarah R — Google review
came here as a kid, around 15 years ago, and a lot has changed, some for the better, some for the worse, now they have got seals, which are super cute and seem happy enough, a lot of new exhibits and animals, but at the same time, less diversity in the big tanks, only one shark, some leaks and many computers and things you should be able to interact with that don't work or are incomplete. I still recommend the experience, especially for little kids or for people who enjoy sea life, I just hope they fix it up and add more sharks, like when I was a kid.
Daniel F — Google review
The Aquarium Finisterrae was impressively clean and well-maintained. All the fish appeared healthy and vibrant, swimming energetically in their tanks. The informational signs were thorough and engaging, providing valuable insights about the various species on display. Although the aquarium is relatively small, it offered a rich experience, showcasing a diverse range of marine life and creating an immersive environment for visitors.

Located just a short distance from the Museo Militar, Igrexa de Santo Domingo is a beautiful church with a rich history. Originally situated outside the city walls, the church was destroyed by English forces in 1589 and later relocated to its present location in the 17th century. The oldest temple in A Coruna, it has undergone several renovations over the centuries.

(Translated by Google) Located in the square of the same name, the church is an important Baroque monument in the Old Town. Its leaning tower stands out and, inside, the Chapel of the Virgin of the Rosary (a historic-artistic monument), patron saint of the city of A Coruña. The original 13th-century convent was destroyed in the attack by Francis Drake in 1589, and the current construction dates from the 17th and 18th centuries. Although Francis Drake was defeated in his attempt to conquer the city and was unable to take the Old Town, his troops managed to plunder the lower part of the city and also destroy other convents such as those of San Francisco and San Agustín. The strong resistance of the inhabitants, led by figures such as María Pita, forced the English army to withdraw, turning the attack into a strategic failure for Drake and a victory for the city.

Orzán Beach, also known as Playa del Orzan, is one of the main beaches in A Coruna, located on Riazor Bay. It faces out towards the ocean and is a popular spot for surfers due to its large waves and lifeguard supervision. The beach stretches along the sunny coast and is easily accessible from the city, making it a favorite among both locals and tourists. In addition to sunbathing, visitors can explore tiny coves with sandy beaches nearby.
If You love City beaches then take a look at this. Surfing, Beach sports. Cycling. Pools and amazing views also by the Deportivo Football Stadium. An amazing City. Food/Drink and so friendly. Recommended.
Jose S — Google review
Ever stumble on a beach that feels like it’s got a heartbeat? Orzán in A Coruña is that place—waves crashing like they’re telling you to kick off your shoes and join the party. I spent an afternoon here, and the mix of surfers riding the swells and families building sandcastles just pulls you in. The golden sand stretches wide, and at dusk, the sky turns into a painting you can’t stop staring at. Locals whisper that Picasso used to splash around here as a kid in the 1890s, dodging waves with his pals. My tip? Grab a café con leche from a nearby chiringuito and stroll the promenade—trust me, it’s the best free show in town. Watch the tides if you swim; they can be sneaky. No tickets, just show up and let Orzán steal your heart.

Easily accessible and popular among locals and travelers . During summer this beach sometimes have lots of tourists. The beach stretches on the sunny coast, within the boundaries of the settlement, it is not difficult to get to it. If your stay is located not far from the beach, you can reach it by walking or using public transportation. If you are traveling by car just use your navigator plus the area is sorrounded by hostels to stay... The water is very clear blueish and mostly cold or medium in temp.. it is also famous for surfing... You can also do overnight relaxation because it is sorrounded by lights so it is SAFE...

Excellent beach! It truly does have sparkling sand! The waves offer you a lot of fun, with a surf board or without Very safe, the crowd is local and very good The beach is clean and well kept There is a chemical toilet on the beach, and showers to rinse off the sand. It is a stones throw from the city centre

Located very close to the castle of San Anton and next to what not long ago was the old military hospital building now called the Abente y Lago specialty center. We have this impressive and ancient museum dedicated exclusively to visiting it and taking an exciting tour of the world of weapons over several hundred years. In it there are uniform weapons from various eras in even the grave of a soldier. But I prefer not to be revealed much more and that you yourself be the ones to discover the wonders that are hidden inside. I recommend it and guarantee that it will be worth the visit. I hope that you like it as much as I do and that you want to visit it again another day. It will not disappoint you. In the vibrant city of A Coruna, visitors can explore the modern and playful side of the city at Domus, an interactive museum housed in a striking sail-shaped seafront building. The museum is dedicated to human physiology and perception, offering an immersive experience for all ages. A trip to A Coruna also offers opportunities to visit historical sites such as the Tower of Hercules, a Roman lighthouse symbolizing the city's rich history.
The welcoming staff at reception set the tone for this interactive museum that interestingly presents mankind. The museum is particularly geared up for younger visitors but even adults will discover a few new things. Great place to take kids, particularly if it's not beach weather outside. Well 👍 done.
M O — Google review
This is a great place to go to fill your day if you have children, it's not for adults and can be very born for adults. It's more like family, friendly and for kids lots to see and do if you take kids, we'll probably take you at least 2 hours to walk through it. I want to play all the games enjoy
Keith B — Google review
Small interactive science museum with some interesting exhibits. It was disappointing that many of the exhibit explanations are not translated in English, which made it challenging to fully understand. Also some of the interactive activities were not operational. However, the architectural design of the building and the views are absolutely impressive. It should not take you than 2 hours to complete.
Angela A — Google review
Interesting to visit whether oldies or children. Lots of interactive exhibits. Most explanations were in Spanish and Galician sometimes English. No cafe just a few expensive machines. It looked like a restaurant was sometimes open. It was free when we went being a holiday.

Great place for people of all ages. The interactive games are fun and you learn a little. The selection of exhibits its fairly limited (hence only 4 stars) but the price is very reasonable and you definitely get your moneys worth. Staff are friendly

Very atmopheric with the audio visuals ..the views are splendid!! The gardens well maintained with great footpaths ..ate well at a pop up event for photography ..good coffee! Helpful staff and the views from the restaurant impressive!!
Abi C — Google review
Fun museum with numerous interactive displays. Particularly enjoyed the first floor section on human intelligence and the games there, including some that can be done as a pair. A bit of an echo so can be extra loud if many children there but of course to be expected ! Temporary exhibit on food is interesting but some sections could be a trigger or upsetting for people with experience of eating disorders. The circle at the beginning of the museum has a showing of birthing videos. This is very interesting but may only be suitable for certain ages with explanations - that part is not for those are uneasy with the sight of blood.

It’s OK. Interactive, so that’s good for the kids but a lot of the installations didn’t work when we were there. It’s quite small so that’s either a good thing or a bad thing. There’s no café that we saw but they did have a vending machine. It says out of order, but it did actually work. Clean toilets. Nice staff. Only €2 each which is fair for what it is. But you can buy a pass which includes the aquarium up the road.

The Gardens of Méndez Núñez, established in 1868, feature vibrant flower beds and fountains within a landscaped park. The area boasts monuments dedicated to revered Spanish figures. The park is teeming with life; young children play while visitors stroll around admiring the old trees and stunning architecture. The Gardens regularly host events such as the Feria del Libro or Feria de Artesanos.
On a scorching afternoon all you need is a lovely garden with plenty of trees to shade under and a cold beer. Only five minutes from the port this place is ideal to relax and just chill out.Plenty of tables and chairs set out in front of the cafe,an odd shaped building with plenty of staff to help out.Go inside and order,I recommend the beer and the crisps of course but other drinks available.

Can’t believe this place was free!!! Really fun experience and cool to see so many different inventions that made such an impact on the world. Only floor 1 was also in English so had to use google translate but it was fun trying to guess what the inventions were before we used it. We were there for just over an hour but could have easily done more if we went earlier. Really great for both adults and kids.

Had a very pleasant experience visiting this museum. Space and displays are well spaced out allowing flow and no bottlenecks. Well curated and organised. Majority of descriptions are in Spanish so used Google translate to understand the exhibits better. Staff were very helpful. Lockers are provided. A great place to visit and it's free. Recommend.

We really loved this museum, such a gem that you might expect to find in a big city, like Madrid or Barcelona (yet there is none like it), I guess that's why they've named it the National Museum of Science. Lots of interesting information for all ages! The building itself is modern, tall and beautiful (wheelchair friendly). Each floor has original pieces, cars, motorbikes, even a 747 airplane (clearly the star of the museum). You'll be shocked at the size of the first television! We thoroughly enjoyed learning about everything, information is clearly written (but only in Spanish). Google lens can translate what you don't understand. And best part, it's free!!

The best restaurant I have been to in La Coruña! The food was impeccable... every dish we ordered was simply DELICIOUS and the service was excellent! I would go back 1000%.

The place is cute and we were lucky to get some seats outside. Unfortunately, there were some constructions going on, but without that, it would have been lovely. The service was friendly, the food took a while to come. The Calamares fritos were great and also the salad. Unfortunately, the tortilla de patatas was very soft and yolky and had some pieces of egg shell... And the langustinos a la plancha didn't taste very fresh. Otherwise, a really nice place to come and enjoy the atmosphere and food.

Church of St. George is a beautiful place of worship dating back to 1766, making it an amazing must-see for tourists. Visitors can enjoy the peaceful and quiet atmosphere, perfect for contemplation and relaxation. The church boasts a magnificent choir, adding to its charm and making it a nice and wonderful place to visit. It's definitely worth a visit while exploring A Coruna, offering a lovely experience that couldn't be more wonderful on a sunny day.
What a magnificent building, a true house of God! We passed by and there just happened to be a mass / service half way through. It was such a great blessing, and we experienced the incredible atmosphere, during the service of a most moving tangible loving spiritual presence. Really really something special to behold. The internal and external structure is very detailed and beautiful, as well as many icons of the saints and of Jesus, as you can see from the photos. If I am not mistaken, above the entrance it says in Spanish, “House of God and door to the city.” I cannot imagine the history this church has seen and lived through. The fact that is still an active place of worship today stands as testimony to the people of this city and the impact Christianity and the love of Jesus that has blessed these people. Again it was our great pleasure and we were honoured and privileged to have stumbled into the service. The only thing that was slightly annoying was the …. Tourists who also stumbled into the church shortly after us, perhaps without realising a Devine service was in progress, they were quite loud, walking around taking photos… perhaps they have never known or experienced the sanctity of the precedence of God, one day I pray they will learn…! In any case, we strongly recommend you visit this House of God if ever you can. You will not regret it.

Very nice marina with friendly and helpful staff. If you can, don't stay on pontoon 10. Very rolly. Sometimes like out at sea. We talked to the marina office who gave us a spot in the inner harbour which was really nice. If not for rolling, would have been 5 star.

Museum
The Fine Arts Museum in A Coruña is a treasure trove of Spanish art, showcasing pieces from the 19th century to contemporary works. Notably, it features masterpieces by Goya and highlights the artistic evolution of Pablo Picasso during his time in A Coruña. Currently, visitors can explore exhibitions that delve into Picasso's legacy and the influence of this vibrant city on various artists. The museum itself is housed in a beautifully restored former Capuchin convent, adding to its charm.
Really nice visit; a beautiful little cultural beacon, just a few minutes walk from the Praza de Maria Pita. Free admission. Easy to spend an hour or two wandering about due to the diversity of the works shown; included was an interesting Goya collection. I enjoy 'hidden' gems such as this one, and found a couple of new favorites!
A.L. P — Google review
Amazing collection of many beautiful paintings, I especially enjoyed the 19th and 20th century section. The Goya room is an interesting look into engraving and the temporary installation of Rubens’ paintings of various myths cannot be missed! (January - December 2025) It is special that there are so many paintings by artists from the region, from Asturias too, and a fair few from A Coruña itself. Foldable seats available for those needing to rest, elevators available inside. Well-price and small gift shop with pretty hand fans, books, T-shirts, bookmarks and tote bags
Ali — Google review
Interesting local museum of Galician and national Spanish artists. Its free so no need to get a ticket, only has limited English interpretation via a leaflet - but Google translate is your friend. The temporary exhibition space is large and about a third of the museum overall so do check out what's on. There isn't a cafe but there a plenty of good options nearby.

A treasure. Free entry, even for special exhibitions. They have a great collection of early Sargadelos pieces, plus tons if Goya etchings that are absolutely worth seeing. The Sorolla exhibition had few paintings but did include absolutely fascinating sketches that I would have loved to continue examining in a catalog. The 20th century artworks give a nice overview of Galician artists. A handful are represented in catalogs in the small but nice gift shop. The staff was kind and the museum is spacious and comfortable to walk, not too overwhelming in scale but definitely worth a visit.

Free entrance museum with very nice arts works from Galician artists
Saeed A — Google review
Pleased I could get in a visit on a Sunday. Thought I needed a couple of hours but managed to visit in about an hour. Bonus as it was free entry. All descriptions in Spanish and QR codes takes you to webpage that can be translated. But the audio guide for highlighted pieces are in Spanish. Enjoyed the ground and top floor exhibitions most which had the sculptures and modern art respectively. Lovely to see several artists present drawing the sculptures. Staff are helpful. Lockers available plus umbrella stand which you can secure your brolly. Has a tiny shop with merchandise and art postcards, umbrellas, and bookmarks etc. for sale. Toilets were pristine.

Very nice museum , worth a quick visit, in display Goya's print and Sargadelos China collection. Has a good collection that covers Flemish to Galician painters, even a large format Sorolla. Entrance is free, so like I said even just to enjoy the building is worth a quick visit. Well adapted for handicapped
PM H — Google review
A wide range of styles and eras with good representation of Spanish artists. The galleries are spacious and bright with plenty of room to stand back, admire and take one's time. A very amusing display of Goya engravings also add to the enjoyment of a visit to this museum. In addition there are displays about the history of coinage, the Madrid art collection of Philip IV, and several modern sculptures.

Castelo de Santo Antón is a historical fortress dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries, strategically positioned to close the entrance to the port of Coruna. The castle offers stunning views of the city and its scenic port from its walkway.

Excellent fortress turned museum right on the maritime walk in A Coruña! Beautiful views once you reach the top. There are very interesting artifacts inside as well (including an old viking ship). Don't miss the area where the water fills up with the tide. We were told it was once used as a torture chamber for prisoners.

Entrance is €2 per person so it would be worth it even if it were empty walls. But it's not just empty walls, it's an archeology museum with quite a few things to see and the views are really nice. If you're here, don't think about it, just go in. Recommendation to management: all the writings are in Galician and Spanish only. It would be great to have them in English as well so that us international visitors can learn about your history too.

This is a relatively simple church, refreshingly so after seeing many Baroque churches. Love the scale of it, the Romanesque arches and especially the Virgin, Child, and saints around the portico. They have smiles!!!! Pretty unusual. In fact, one Saint (?) to Mary’s right, is leaning on the arm of her chair, feet crossed casually. Don’t see that everyday. They have a Gregorian chant tape playing inside which adds to the ambiance. Definitely worth a visit!

I really loved seeing young Picasso's work and their family home in A Coruña. There was lots of interesting items and even prints of Picasso's painting of the apartment when they lived there. The only thing l would have improved, was the historical detail. In that period they didn't use magnolia paint. All the rooms would have been dark rich colours and very cluttered. So this oversight completely changed the character and was much too bright and modern looking.
Madelaine H — Google review
Such a nice house. Very well preserved. It is small, but it gives a nice indication of Picasso's life.
Alex C — Google review
This is very interesting and worth visiting, but it is a shame that, furniture apart , there is no attempt at an authentic interior. There is reproduction of a Picasso painting showing exactly how it would have looked. A typical 19th century clutered home. Instead, the whole place in painted white and magnolia.

Casa Museo de Emilia Pardo Bazán is the former residence of the Pardo Bazan family, now serving as a museum and headquarters of the Royal Galician Academy. The house, dating back to the 18th century, offers insights into the life and legacy of Emilia Pardo Bazán, a prominent Spanish novelist and advocate for women's rights. (Translated by Google) Breogán is the mythical founding king of Galicia. His legend comes from the medieval Irish text Lebor Gabála Érenn (or Book of the Invasions of Ireland). According to this story, Breogán founded the city of Brigantia (identified with Coruña) and erected a high tower (the Tower of Hercules). It was from the top of this tower that his son, Ith, glimpsed the green land of Ireland, thus beginning the journey of his descendants (the Milesians) to conquer it and become the ancestors of the Irish people. Breogán was adopted by Galician nationalism and the Rexurdimento as the symbol of Galician origin and identity, which is why the Galician anthem refers to Galicia as the "Home of Breogán".

Beyond retail therapy, visitors can enjoy a variety of entertainment facilities such as a multi-screen cinema, bowling alley, and even a go-kart track—making it an ideal destination for families.
Located in the small city of A Coruña, it is the largest shopping center in Galicia and is among the first in Spain. It has stores, with diffirent brands such as IKEA which is very big and offers nice things plus the coffee area where you can enjoy having snacks with your family , Decathlon, Media Markt , Leroy Merlin, Primark, H&M, Mango , the famous Zara and etc to enjoy shopping. It also has various leisure for your kids so you will never get bored when you bring them in this area. I came to Coruna for business purposes. I've been here for a few days. I found this place by searching the internet to meet my various needs. Its interior is quite spacious and does not bore the guests. It has stores that stock products of different brands as well as famous brands. Therefore, you can find very cheap but quality products. Unfortunately, as a tourist who does not speak Spanish or Welsh, the only difficulty I experienced was not being able to find anyone who could speak English at the orientation points or in communication. Despite this, I was able to achieve the things I wanted. Also, it would be really better if they added the opening hours of stores according to days to the information in Google Maps. There is no place open as of 11.30 on Sunday. It would be much better, especially for tourists, if information was shared in advance.

Huge mall with lots and lots of shops (200 according to the web). The top floor has restaurants, cinema and toilets. It would be nice to have toilets on every floor but that is not the case. The halls are wide and even though it was a busy day, it did not feel crowded. There are things to keep the kids busy, including a nice arcade on the top floor. Worth a visit whether you need something or not. the parking is HUGE and free. It could use more EV charging stations but hopefully they will add some to keep up with the times.

El gran Antonio Fraguas de Pablo "FORGES", anunciaba en un dibujo editado en "El País": EL PATRIOTISMO ES UNA INDIGESTIÓN ESPIRITUAL QUE SE CURA LEYENDO Y VIAJANDO, QUE ES OTRA FORMA DE LEER. Menhirs for Peace is a sculptural park near the Tower of Hercules in A Coruna, featuring menhirs by Manolo Paz. The stones have square holes cut out of them and resemble a mini Stonehenge. Visitors can take postcard-worthy pictures with the Tower of Hercules through window-like openings in the sculptures. It's a surreal and beautiful space, offering breathtaking views of La Coruna and providing a peaceful environment for relaxation, meditation, and family time.
Strange place, situated just off the coast in A Coruna, it has lots of stones with square holes cut out of them and a rather stranger set of stones which looked like a mini Stonehenge (UK). There are no restriction around the stones so you can go right up to them and take your pictures. The stones are fairly large, but no way on the same scale as stonehedge in the UK. Very interesting place to visit and well worth it. In the area there are benches for picnicking, but no shops to buy anything so its quite isolated out here, you will need to walk for a good 10 minute's to get to town.

This is a truly special spot in La Coruña. The Menhirs for Peace blend art, history, and nature in such a powerful way. Set on a scenic coastal walk with sweeping views of the Atlantic, the stones create a striking silhouette against the sky. It’s peaceful, thought-provoking, and ideal for a reflective stroll or just enjoying the sea breeze. Open 24/7 and completely free, it’s one of those places that makes you stop and appreciate the moment. A must-visit if you’re exploring the Galician coast.
Jacob W — Google review
Created in 2003 by Manolo Paz, this sculptural ensemble consists of twelve large stone menhirs, each carved with a rectangular opening that frames views of the sea, sky, or the nearby lighthouse. The stones are arranged to suggest a family group — parents and children — evoking themes of unity and reflection. The site of Campo da Rata has historical significance, which adds a contemplative layer to the work. Late afternoon and sunset are the best times to visit, when the light creates a particularly atmospheric setting.

he strange name of Campo da Rata (Rat Field) where the monument is located seems the most appropriate to designate the space where many citizens were killed during the dictatorship of Francisco Franco. It is a tribute to the victims of the Spanish Civil War and is connected to the former provincial prison, which is also located in the area surrounding the tower.

(Translated by Google) As a tourist spot a 10 The Church is beautiful, and the sacristan and the priest are extremely rude, racist and sexist. I usually attend every Tuesday (I pray the rosary in the Holy Sacrament), on Thursdays I pray the rosary alone, I accompany the rosary that is prayed there and the mass. One day I asked the sacristan who was outside smoking for information to know the date of a certain mass, he asked me if I didn't know how to read (the date I was asking him about was not listed in the announcements)... Today, like every Thursday, I went to pray the rosary. When the Pope's results came out, I continued my prayers with more joy, faith and hope. When the girl began the rosary with the few people who frequent the church, I sat down and continued the prayer with her. The priest comes out from inside the chapel making signs (I didn't imagine that he was talking to me) when he approached me and said: "uncross your legs, the saint is there, you have no respect"... the few people who were there all looked at me, I picked up my things and left, on the way out he grabbed my arm and told me: "I didn't tell you to leave, I said be good." I answered: “I have been in the church all my life, I know perfectly well how I should behave” and I left. Ps: I was wearing a dress that reached my ankle, sneakers and a long coat. It is very difficult to continue in the faith when it should unite people and exclude us. It's a shame to experience this on such an important day for the Catholic Church. I think this man didn't learn anything from Pope Francis.

The views surrounding area fine, but we never took the elevator. Why? We waited but as it slowly came down it appeared to break multiple times, as we saw it stop and the sound of them working on it continued. The price is also practically robbery, costing 3 Euro to go up and three more Euro to go down, for each person. Was a waste of time overall, and do not recommend. The glass on the ball also seems to be severely dirty and needs cleaning.

In the last of the tasks entrusted to the Greek hero, Hercules had to go down to Hades – the world of the dead – and bring with him Can Cerberus, the three-headed dog that guarded the entrance to the underworld. The work, weighing five hundred kilos, was made of bronze, and was 1.20 meters high. The artist himself defined her as “a warrior, an attentive watchman. La obra, de quinientos kilos de peso, estaba realizada en bronce, y tenía 1,20 metros de altura. El propio artista la definía como «un guerrero, un vigía atento.

It represents the ferryman of Greek mythology in a modern interpretation: a robust, curved body hugging his knees in a thoughtful attitude. Made of bronze and of great volume, the figure conveys a mixture of strength and melancholy, inviting reflection on the journey between worlds and the memory of sailors. Its dark texture contrasts with the green surroundings of the park and the blue of the sea, and changes hue with the rain and the sun. There is not much additional information on the site, but it is an interesting spot to pause, observe the exaggerated anatomical details, and enjoy the views. The location is accessible via a walk from the Tower of Hercules, with nearby benches for resting. It is a unique work that enriches a visit to the park and demonstrates the diversity of styles and themes present in this open-air artistic complex.

It's imposing, truly marvelous, and they couldn't have spoiled it any further by placing everything they've put around it (a ticket rack...). It is the sculpture of a very obese man, this obesity makes his chest hang and he can look like a woman. Charon is part of the mythology associated with Hercules, hence his presence in the tower of the same name. It represents a morbidly obese man with large breasts that usually lead to misunderstandings about the sex of the figure. It is actually Charon and is part of the mythology associated with Hercules. According to legend, another of the jobs entrusted to Hercules consisted of going to the world of the dead (Hades) and bringing the three-headed dog, the dog Cerberus, which was located at its entrance preventing the exit of those who entered there. To reach Hades, Hercules had to cross the Styx lagoon thanks to the help of the ferryman Charon, who was in charge of guiding the wandering shadows of the recently deceased to the other side of the Acheron river as long as they had an obolus to pay for the trip. Hence, in ancient Greece the dead were buried with a coin under the tongue.
