Deutsches Eck, also known as the German Corner, is a picturesque headland in Koblenz, Germany where the Rhine and Moselle rivers meet. At this historic site stands a 37-meter high equestrian monument of Kaiser Wilhelm I. The city of Koblenz itself is over 2000 years old and is surrounded by beautiful low mountain ranges. It serves as an excellent starting point for exploring the UNESCO World Heritage area of the Rhine Valley and the Mosel Valley.
Definitely worth a visit, probably one of the largest statues in Europe. There is lots in the surrounding areas, cafes just behind. There is access to the fortress within a 5 minute walk and the old town is only a 7 minute walk A must see if visiting the area
Tom B — Google review
Great and large statue with huge area for people to stand, sit, walk by and eat/drink at the numerous food stalls in the vicinity. Nice place and area beside the Moselle (Mosel) river flowing into the Rhine river. Koblenz is very nice river city in Germany not very far from Border city Trier or the country Luxembourg by train.
Bhanu A — Google review
It is a real wonderful scene The River divides into two branches with the mountains and Cable cars along with the flags around you I loved the place , great for taking pictures
Ahmad N — Google review
Deutsches Eck is an absolutely stunning place to visit! The meeting point of the Rhine and Moselle rivers offers breathtaking views, especially at sunset. The atmosphere is peaceful, and there’s a real sense of history surrounding the monument. The area is beautifully maintained, perfect for a relaxing walk or taking photos. It’s also a great spot to sit and enjoy an ice cream while watching the boats pass by. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this iconic landmark is truly unforgettable. Highly recommended!
Raf — Google review
If you are visiting Koblenz, this is a must-see place. It's in all honesty nothing that spectacular. The monument (covered elsewhere) is, but this is just a lovely bit of space, made extra special as it's the confluence of the two rivers. Just take time to appreciate the views of the water, the castle, and of course the (spectacular) monument.
Phil B — Google review
It's worth visiting. You can see the colour difference of Rein and Mossel coming together at this place, go with a cable car to the fortress (a lot of expositions included in the entrance ticket. The view of Koblenz from the fortress is very nice.
Tetyana S — Google review
Wonderful monument. The plaza has plenty of room to walk and position for photos. Food and drinks nearby as well as a few souvenir vendors.
Frank D — Google review
Sixty-three steps to climb to the highest point of this humongous monument to Whilelm 1, which was much bigger than I thought it would be, situated at the land jutting into the confluence of the Rhein & Mosel Rivers. Wonderful views of the fortress, the Basilica, and the actual joining of rivers. A must/ see on Koblenz.

Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, located 118 meters above the Rhine River, is a significant historical site in Koblenz. The fortress houses the state museum of antiquities and hosts special exhibitions and war memorials. Accessible via a cable car ride from Deutsches Eck, visitors can enjoy stunning views during the ascent to the fortress. Originally built in the 11th century, it has been destroyed and exchanged between various powers over centuries.
If you wouldn’t know you would think you are in Italy. Such a fantastic fortification, great history, great building complex, fabulous exhibitions, although there could be more explanations in English, (for example the videos in the wine exhibition with subtitles). Grey views, great restaurant a must see when in this area.
Hans-Lothar H — Google review
Our tour guide was in Character as a British spie. He walked us through as if we were an invading army. The fort and its design is very impressive. The walls are 4 meters thick.
Joseph C — Google review
Ehrenbreitstein Fortress offers great views of Koblenz and the wider area. It's also good value, especially when you get the combined ticket with the cable car. The exhibitions are interesting, particularly the one on the fort's history and the archaeological finds, and the show in the excavation area was a highlight. However, the layout of the fortress is quite confusing and could use better signposting. It was also a shame that one of the media-focused areas was closed during my visit, and I also accidentally missed the wine exhibition. All in all, it's an enjoyable place to visit, but a better layout would certainly improve the experience.
Tim B — Google review
Visited the fortress and the grounds outside, the fortress is massive, with so much to see, I didn't have an audio guide, this would have been beneficial, as a lot of exhibits only had an explanation in German. I believe a visit to the fortress, plus the cable car for 21 euros is a real bargain. Can recommend
Mick P — Google review
Apart from the history and the view, there is nothing much to see really. Compared to the entrance fee is expensive. Just the cable ride alone with the view point is sufficient to see.
Pasan S — Google review
Pretty nice place to visit with great views. Expensive to get in especially considering most of the tunnels are closed and the museum section has limited hours. Still, worth the visit.
John M — Google review
Impressive castle, with nice courtyards for walking, great view over Koblenz. You have few coffee bars and get toneode with the cable car
Marin V — Google review
This castle isn't exactly a must-visit. It's actually a former barracks used by the German army in the late nineteenth century. 🚠 The funicular ride costs 15 euros and is a glass capsule with some dirty windows. The views are decent, but the ride isn’t comfortable at all. 💶 Entrance to the castle is 10 euros, but all you really get is a view of the Rhine. Most of the buildings are just empty concrete walls—there's hardly anything to see. 🧑‍🏫 It might be interesting for a historian studying the German army of that era, but if that’s not your thing, you can definitely find better ways to spend 2 hours and 25 euros. 🆓 Just a heads-up - entrance seems to be free after 6 PM, though there are no signs to inform visitors about that.

In Koblenz, the Basilica of St. Castor stands as the oldest church in the area, boasting Romanesque architecture and vaulted ceilings. This historic sanctuary holds significance as it was where important negotiations took place in 842 AD regarding the division of the Franconian Empire. The basilica's rich history includes its founding in 817 AD and subsequent renovations over time, including restoration after sustaining damage during World War II. Its roots are tied to St.
Basilica of St. Castor is a wonderful historic site with a special atmosphere. Inside, the elegant vaults and architectural details create a sense of both grandeur and intimacy. The quiet and peaceful ambiance makes it a perfect place for a short break and reflection. Definitely worth a visit, especially if you’re interested in history and architecture!
Fiodor K — Google review
Set back from the main street, but admired & toured by many Germans, the Basilica of St. Castor has a lot to see. Don't miss the fountains in the monastery garden beside the basilica. This Romanesque basilica is a must-see if you go to Koblentz.
JB L — Google review
A beautiful little church with lovely grounds. There are a number of quirky items/sculptures around the church area. There used to be an unusually decorated piano outside but not sure if it's still there. I will post a picture of the piano.
Brenda — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ Peaceful, Historic, and Architecturally Striking The Basilica of St. Castor (Basilika St. Kastor) is one of Koblenz’s true historical gems. Nestled just a short walk from the Deutsches Eck, this Romanesque church dates back to the 9th century and carries with it over 1,000 years of history—from religious significance to political events like treaty negotiations during the Holy Roman Empire. The architecture is understated but elegant, with twin towers, rounded arches, and a sense of solemnity both outside and in. Inside, you’ll find a calm, meditative atmosphere, with beautiful stained-glass windows, frescoes, and a modest but moving altar. It’s not overly ornate, which adds to its authenticity and sense of reverence. The surrounding garden is especially lovely—quiet, well-kept, and great for a short walk or a break from the busier tourist sites. Interpretive signs provide helpful context, though a guided tour would definitely add more depth if you’re a history enthusiast. 📍 Highly recommended for lovers of architecture, history, or anyone seeking a quiet, contemplative space in Koblenz.
Irene L — Google review
I didn't go inside but walked around the outer areas, gardens, and then down to the waterfront. Its a short walk from the old town and only a short walk to the Eke statue and the access up the fort.
Tom B — Google review
Lovely place very quiet and serene like a church is supposed to be. Springtime made it even more beautiful due to all the tulip blossoms around it.
Pritam C — Google review
Having seen so many cathedrals, I was not expecting a whole lot. But we entered to find fantastic organ music - which did stop while we were there, but it still contributed to a magical experience. The next best thing about this site was the beautiful pool on one side, the sumptuous gardens on the other side, then the very well-done timeline & graphic display in the back, detailing the rich and ancient history of the area. I wish I’d had more time there!
Chung-Hae C — Google review
It was a nice place to visit and the surroundings adjacent where the Meuse and Rhine join. Sadly the stone is black with soot from industrialization and the area would definately be a great visit and huge boost if there was some restauration to clean the stones

Very beautiful church. It was constructed in the 12th century, and has been renovated and expanded several times. We now see a Romanesque origin with a Gothic choir and Baroque towers.

The DB Museum Koblenz is a fascinating railway museum housed in a former repair warehouse, offering an immersive journey into the history and evolution of rail transport in Germany. Located at the Koblenz-Lutzel train station, just 3 kilometers from the city center, this museum boasts a diverse collection of restored vintage trains, railway artifacts, and interactive exhibits. Visitors can explore two floors of displays showcasing everything from early locomotives to modern vehicles.
Amazing place. You can easily spend several hours here. €8 family ticket. Incredible value.
Simon L — Google review
Nice museum with some very interesting and historically significant locomotives. You are left to your own to roam around freely. Many locpmotives are accessible. Parents with children should be extremely cautious as the terrain is more a depot than a museum and the museum lies immediately besides live railway tracks with no fences, just a chain to mark the difference. Only open on Saturdays. Not very large. You would want to spend two-three hours here. Worth the trouble of getting there if you are in the area, say no more than an hour driving or so away, but not a museum I would go to great lengths to see (like Mulhouse or York).
Garratt F — Google review
Great experience 🙌😍 They doesn't have any entry fee, but if you go on with kids train trip or other for fun you have to pay little amount. And jumping trucks is also free for kids. It is really kids friendly, if you are living nearby you must visit. It have so many beautiful trains
Sameera K — Google review
Nice place for kids liking trains. You can go into sum of the locomotives and play with the buttons and switches. 8 Euros for a family ticket. A nice place to spend 2 hours with the kids. There are trains from different eras. From the beginning of the 1900 to today.
Tamir M — Google review
Great idea if you're into trains. We had a tour and the guide explained a lot of interesting things about the history of the trains.
Ati C — Google review
So worth the 3 euros just to wander around and see all the old locos and coaches. There is about one of each loco, and some extras in different colours. You can get inside the locos and coaches in the shed such as a Class 118 and some coaches built in 1938 for the then govenrment, but I did want to peep into the stuff in the yard such as the restaurant and sleep cars, but alas. Even just to sit on the running board of a Kof and watch the trains go by was a nice way to spend some time. Have been back and will be back. Note: not for those that find it difficult to get about. Lots of walking over tracks and big steps. Easy free parking. Note for those looking, you go under the rail tracks and it’s a turn up a small road schorn something str then a sharp left up to the tracks. Brilliant location to visit the only downside is that it only opens on Saturdays.

Very nice museum with lots of variety in loco's from steam to electric. The walkable terrain is pretty large! Lots of educational exhibits. You will be entertained for hours. The entrance fee is very low, but the experiences you get out of it are priceless! Also has a fun little shop.

Historical landmark
Stolzenfels Castle, originally built in the 13th century and later reconstructed in neo-Gothic style by King Friedrich Wilhelm IV, offers tours of its historical fortress. The castle is surrounded by a picturesque park designed by Peter Joseph Lenne, featuring grottos, waterfalls, and a Pergola Garden with lush rose vegetation. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the Rhine River and Fortress Ehrenbreitstein from the castle grounds.
Beautiful castle. Well worth the admission costs to see the inside rooms. If you parked in the garage at the foot of the hill, tell the attendant when you get the visitors pass, and you should be able to park for free.
Joseph B — Google review
There is a parking garage (but not with many spaces), and then you walk the winding road up to the castle. We bought tickets and were asked what language we wanted the brochure in, but I said we did not need it. The woman at the kasse said, "Of course you need it, or you won't know what you're looking at!" I was never forced to take information material before, but we accepted. There weren't many places to explore on the grounds and we couldn't figure out how to the get to the other side outside. The inside we had to wear felt clogs over our shoes and they were enormous! It was a nice interior but not many rooms too see.
Maria L — Google review
One of my favourite castles on The Rhein and a must if you are near Koblenz. The tour is amazing, the views even better. Highly recommend.
Colin S — Google review
One of the most beautiful castles here in Germany! An excellent mix of defensive castle and modern residence! The view onto Koblenz is also magnificent :)
Stefan H — Google review
This is a very beautiful castle. Although you must walk up a very steep hill. Or call a taxi to drive you up the hill. Alot of history is preserved in the castle. I can not imagine how hard it was to build this castle back in 1839. Well worth visiting. A beautiful walk down.
Mona K — Google review
An alright ish romantic castle, was extensively rebuilt in the 19th century. Upon visit most of the beautiful garden was inaccessible, interior areas were nice.

Don't waste your time. It's a lot of effort for little. Only a few rooms where you can't even step in with your shoes. A few photos from afar are enough for this castle. You can see the same in other castles in the Rhine Valley without so many restrictions.

Experience the breathtaking Koblenz Cable Car, a gondola-style ride that offers a unique and stunning aerial view of the city. The cable car takes you high above Koblenz, allowing you to admire sights like the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress and the Rhine River. Reasonably priced, it's an ideal activity for families.
5***** Definitely worth a visit! There was no waiting line (but we are still in March), and the prices are ok (although the toilets at the fortress near the gift shop should be free…). The ride is quick but beautiful, and from the fortress you can get some amazing panoramic vistas, but not just when you exit the cable car, you have to go in and explore a bit. It was so windy and cold today that we did a rather quick tour, because we were freezing. So, consider bringing a few extra warm layers and a wind breaker or something like that. There was a restaurant up there, but we didn’t try it. The souvenir shop has some beautiful postcards and books, so take a look on your way out. And they accept American Express and they speak English perfectly!

Marksburg Castle, located in Braubach, is a historic fortress that has evolved over 700 years from a 12th-century keep. It stands as the only hilltop castle on the Middle Rhine that has never been destroyed. The castle offers guided tours where visitors can explore various areas such as the torture chamber, knights' hall, armory, and knight's garden, immersing themselves in a truly medieval atmosphere.
Only hilltop castle never destroyed. Built atop shale stone, includes a "poison garden" of toxic plants. A very interesting display of historic weapons and armour dating back to the Greek, Roman period but also up to the 1600's.

The last remaining original medieval castle overlooking the Rhine. Fascinating 60 min guided tour (in English) with a very knowledgeable guide. Stunning views across the valley and down to the Rhine. Well worth a visit
Julian P — Google review
Not a bad castle with nice views. There is a bit of a slope to walk up, but it's only 20-30 steps, so not much. Tickets are 11 euro, and the tour is about 1 hour long. You have to book a tour ticket to walk through it, you cant just have a walk around on your own. There is a cafe at the bottom of the castle and outdoor seating area for refreshments, lunch etc and it seemed reasonably priced.

This is a must if you are in Koblenz. One of my favorite castles out of about 16 that we saw when we were traveling up and down the Rhein river. The tour is amazing. The views from the top are absolutely spectacular. Just an amazing castle. That’s all that is to say. Enjoy the photos.

Lovely castle to visit. Bit of a hike up the hill but well worth the effort. You can only visit tge actual castle on an organised tour, our English speaking one only had 10 of us, and great value at just 11 euro each

Housed in a 17th-century half-timbered building reminiscent of Alsatian architecture, it exudes a unique atmosphere. Guests have praised the friendly and hospitable waitstaff, recommending dishes like Schnitzel and Kalbsschnitzel with mashed potatoes.
Absolutely gorgeous. Fantastic food, many, many wines offered by the glass, and our server was just so lovely. We had a brilliant evening, strongly recommend. I had the pork medallions with spätzle and mushrooms in cream sauce and it was delicious.

Very nice food Unfortunately didn't have our first choice of wine but the alternative was very good. The waitress was very grumpy even though we managed to speak enough French she seemed not to like talking to us. We were not asked if the food was ok or if we wanted anything else. We left feeling our custom was not appreciated but don't let this out you off. The menu is very good and food all very tasty.

Wahnsinn. Super Food. Kalbsschnitzel with mashed potatoes and also heaven and Earth, amazing combination of baked blood sausage, liverwurst with baked apples. Absolutely amazing. Burg Lahneck, a stunning medieval castle dating back to 1226, has stood the test of time and played a strategic role in territorial disputes. This picturesque hilltop fortress has changed hands multiple times before being acquired by the Duchy of Nassau in 1866. Visitors can enjoy its attached restaurants and use it as a stopover for hiking and jogging routes. The castle also offers candlelit tours with personal anecdotes from knowledgeable guides, making it an enchanting destination for history enthusiasts.
Awesome place to visit. We were privileged to tour while cruising down the Rhein on Ama Waterways. While it was getting dark when we arrived it added to the mystical properties of this ancient castle. Lahneck Castle (German: Burg Lahneck) is a medieval fortress located in the city of Lahnstein in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, south of Koblenz. The 13th-century castle stands on a steep rock salient above the confluence of the Lahn River with the Rhine, opposite Stolzenfels Castle, in the district of Oberlahnstein. Its symmetrical plan, an oblong rectangle, is typical of the later castles of the time of the Hohenstaufen. The pentagonal shape of the bergfried is rare for castle towers.

As others have said you need an organized tour planned in advance to see the inside. It is about 100 m of uphill and downhill walking to get to the entrance from the closest Parking. Located outside the Basilica of St. Castor in Koblenz, the Kastorbrunnen, or Saint Castor's Fountain, is a fascinating relic from the Napoleonic Wars. Erected in 1812, this French-era fountain is made of basalt rocks and features an inscription by the French prefect Jules Doazan that prematurely praises Napoleon's conquest of Russia.

Maciej B — Google review
(Translated by Google) The classicist Castor fountain on the forecourt of the Basilica of St. Kastor in Koblenz was built from basalt blocks in 1812 at the instigation of Jean Marie Thérèse Doazan, the prefect of the French department of Rhin-et-Moselle. His hastily written inscription, which was also carved in incorrect orthographic French, was intended to commemorate Napoleon's supposedly successful Russian campaign. The text reads: “An mdcccxii / Mémorable par la campagne contre les Russes / sous le Préfectura de Jules Doazan.” (German: In 1812 / Monument to the campaign against the Russians / under the prefecture of Jules Doazan.) In fact, as we know, Napoleon's Russian campaign ended in disaster. In the Sixth Coalition War, on New Year's Eve 1814, the predominantly Russian army corps under General Saint-Priest, which formed the right wing of Blücher's Silesian Army, crossed the Rhine between Neuwied and the mouth of the Lahn, with the focus on Koblenz. The French had recently evacuated the city and left it to the Russians without a fight. However, their commander showed humor and did not remove Doazan's fountain or the first inscription, but instead had a second one placed underneath it. It reads: “Vu et approuvé par nous Commandant / russe de la ville de Coblentz / le 1er janvier 1814.” (German: Seen and approved by us, Russian commander of the city of Koblenz, on January 1, 1814.) The Kastorbrunnen is a large square block made of Niedermendig basalt blocks and originally stood in the middle of the square. It was created by the Aachen sculptor Rauch according to plans by the military engineer Dagobert Chauchet and has a high, grooved base and a protruding, also grooved end plate. There are two suspended semicircular fountain bowls made of Lahn marble. The fountain was fed with spring water from the water pipe from Metternich and has been supplying the Kastorviertel with clean drinking water since August 15, 1812 (the emperor's birthday). It carried a group of figures made of limestone with the personifications of the Rhine and Moselle. Due to severe weathering, the sculpture was removed shortly after 1817. A replica of this group of figures today decorates the castle park on the Rhine side above a fountain. In the 1950s, the fountain, which the French had placed in the axis of Kastorgasse and thus in the line of sight to the Kastorkirche, was moved a few meters to the north in order to clear the view of the church again.

In 1814, when the Russians conquered the city they did not remove the inscription from the fountain, but their Commander General Saint-Priest put a second inscription underneath which said: "We have seen and approve, Russian commander of the city of Koblenz, January 1, 1814" . We had a lovely time here! The different pools all had something different to offer with varying temperatures and minerals. We took advantage at staying to the hotel that was connected to the Therme. It was so nice to be able to walk over without going outside. We visited during the week. Like most places, the mornings and late evenings was less crowded. My husband could swim some laps in the morning while I soaked up the heat in the 36-38 degree pool. We had one meal at the restaurant and was surprised at how good and fresh the meal was. The table next to us had the Waffles with fresh cream (and it smelled so good!). The saunas were all good. If I had to deduct a point, it would be because there was no very warm water pool in the sauna area. There is a nice pool in the sauna area, but it was a little too cool for me at this time of the year. The Panorama and Klang Saunas were over the river and were very nice. I wish I had better eyesight and could have seen all of the views. It was well worth the money!! I would definitely love to come again!!

An excellent way to reach the summit of the city, offering breathtaking views throughout the journey. I highly recommend this short ride to experience the stunning vistas of the city and rivers, as well as quick access to the fort atop the hill. Please note that there is a cost of €15 per person to reach the top, with additional fees required to enter the fort, making it quite a significant expense for a brief visit. We did not go into the fort due to the pricing during the Christmas period. The cabins are spacious, with seating strategically placed for optimal viewing from all angles, and the entire system is impeccably maintained. Additionally, cable car 17 features a unique glass bottom, allowing for an unparalleled perspective from below the carriage.

Be warned that there's lots of walking if you want to see everything and maybe not so great for under 5s. The playground at the top worked well for us.

Beer hall
Breakfast restaurant
Altes Brauhaus is a traditional German restaurant that offers a classic brewery pub experience. The place has a cozy atmosphere with its chequered flooring, wooden furniture, and friendly owner. They serve up local eats such as schnitzel, meat dishes, and sausages alongside draft beer.
A great German restaurant in the heart of the Altstadt in Koblenz. Make reservations as it’s always full. You won’t be disappointed.
Colin S — Google review
The experience was okay overall. The staff was very efficient and attentive, which definitely stood out. The beer was good, nothing particularly special, and I wouldn’t recommend ordering the Aperol tho. The food was delicious, but the portions were extremely large—definitely something to keep in mind. The restaurant itself isn’t particularly nice in terms of atmosphere or decor, but the prices are very reasonable
M N — Google review
So crowded! But rightfully so - great food, beer & atmosphere. The woman who served us was supernatural. I just had a beer (still full from breakfast) but my husband had his heart’s desire - a real German sausage ( see picture).
Chung-Hae C — Google review
I had dinner here and ordered the schnitzel — beer sauce, the portion was really big and delicious. It was served very quickly, which I really appreciated. I also enjoyed a big, cold beer that paired perfectly with the meal. Great experience overall! Would definitely come back.
Silvia W — Google review
We turned up without reservation and we were lucky to get a table. The beer and food was absolutely delicious, I had a schnitzel with a mushroom cream sauce, my mate had a creamy peppercorn sauce. Absolutely 5*
Mark J — Google review
We arrived on monday, out of the high season, at 18:00 and with reservation, and ut was already full. The staff were really helpful and friendly, encouraging to wait, and very keen to help. Atmosphere was great, energetic with great schnitzel to eat. Strongly recommend if you want a place with high vibes, loudly enjoyable and less formal.
Gustavo U — Google review
The food is good but service is bad. If you’re German feel free, waiter will kindly ask you how is the food. If you’re a “aus lander”, don’t. You won’t get a “thank you” even you pay extra tip. Don’t try to argue that maybe I don’t speak German, we were the whole time speaking German. I won’t directly say it’s racism, leave it to people to judge.

Ice cream shop
In Koblenz, eGeLoSIa Laden is a must-visit for gelato enthusiasts. The ice cream is prepared on-site in a glass-enclosed ice lab, allowing curious visitors to watch the process. The impressive selection includes classic milk-based gelato, refreshing sorbets, and special flavors like "Fior die Latte" with homemade raspberry filling and a crispy chocolate shell. Customers praise the variety of flavors, including vegan options such as chocolate and walnut.
Great gelato at a good price! 2.30 euros for a small cup and you get to choose 2 flavours for your gelato, how good is that? Had 2 small cups in both days that we were in koblenz and all the flavours chosen were great. The queues may be long but service is quite quick.
X W — Google review
Very busy ice cream place in Koblenz. The ice cream was really good and the fresh fruit was great. Lots of areas around to sit outside enjoy your food and then place in a bin nearby and keep the area clean. Lots of different flavors and ways to enjoy your dish. 100% worth a try. Staff kind of didn’t know who to help next as once you get near the counter it’s all spread out and no one knows who’s first or next.
Chris C — Google review
To be honest I think it's a bit overrated. The ice cream is great but a bit too sweet for me. I wouldn't wait in line to get it, but if there's no line and I happen to not have ice cream for a while, I definitely would buy some to treat myself
Zhemin M — Google review
Super tasty ice cream. They have a big variety of flavours with yoghurt and chocolate being one of my favourites. Staff is also very friendly. Waiting in line is worth it.
Kiyan G — Google review
Sorry but this place is much overrated. I had much tastier ice cream even in Germany. After trying it out we don’t want to come there again. The service was great!
Daria S — Google review
Very good Gelato with lots of flavour options. They have good vegan options too including a chocoale one. The day we visited they didn't have pistachio so I opted for walnut and it was pretty good. It had powdered walnut in it. Also the vegan chocolate was very good. The only downside is they don't have traditional cones, instead they have this cup like cone thingies and I wasn't impressed with the crunchiness or the quality of it.
Smitha I — Google review
Very tasty icecream, the best i have ever tried, the mon cherie icecream is so delicious!
Krisztina F — Google review
One of the best places in Koblenz to get gelato. As you can see through the window they even produce it there. They have milk based gelato and sorbet, which is all vegan. They always have a line because it’s so popular but the line goes super fast.

Restaurant
Gerhards Genussgesellschaft in Koblenz offers a unique dining experience with its inventive dishes influenced by global flavors. The restaurant, located near the Deutsches Eck, has received the prestigious Bib Gourmand award from the Michelin Guide for its excellent menu at a good price-performance ratio. Guests can enjoy their meals in a vaulted dining room or on the terrace, accompanied by a fine selection of wines.
Excellent value tasting menu. Relaxed atmosphere and welcoming staff. Our waiter created a wine tasting menu for us and could not have been more helpful. Definitely the best restaurant experience in our Rhine trip.

Delicious food with some great vegetarian options, a reasonably priced 3 course menu and helpful and friendly staff. We turned up right near the end of the lunch time but were still allowed time to eat at our own pace and enjoy ourselves. Also has a large outdoor seating area.

Perfectly cooked lamb with chickpea and haloumi. The gnocchi with trumpet mushrooms are also to die for. A really beautiful restaurant to visit in Koblenz. Great food, great service, delicious wine. It is next to the famous historical landmark in Koblenz. Even more reason to be here.

Exelent food, interesting location. The personel is very polite and nice, but a bit distracted.
Denitza T — Google review
The food and service were excellent. The staff knows the wine selection very well and will give you a good recommendation. We enjoyed a 3 meal course. Every course was delicious, but for the price range we expected more from the main course (fish as well as pork). We will definitely visit Gerhards again to try a different meal 👍

Disaster Dinner, maybe a wrong night for the kitchen?? First of all we waited quite a lot for water and bred. We order two vegetarian menu, nothing to say for the appetiser, it was a salad and it came before the wine!! All the other dishes were too salty and the wait time in-between was unbelievable, more than 40 minutes!! Luckily the dessert was good and also the schnapps. We thought it was better, I’m not sure to suggest it to no one but maybe it was a wrong night for the team.

Located in Koblenz, this restaurant offers an impressive array of burger creations, including many vegan options featuring flavorful wheat patties and other plant-based delights. Beyond burgers, guests can indulge in crisp salads and grilled specialties, ensuring there's something for every palate. The drink menu is equally enticing, boasting a selection of fine wines, refreshing beers, and exotic cocktails to complement your meal perfectly.
Love the burger. We ordered the Hans im burger with cheese. No frills, solid burger. The steak cut fries were good too. The best part of this place? The friendly service. We were attended to by Stephanie - friendly and smiley! We sat outside to take advantage of the good weather. Did pop inside the restaurant to use the washroom and snapped a few pics of the interior.

We were in Koblenz Altstadt and wanted some lunch. This place looked good. The food was amazing. We had a burger with fries, a large cold drink and a hot drink after like hot coco and coffee.

This is a perfect example of how fast service should be. Perfect serving. Great menu. Food really good. Loved it here. The loaded chilli fries are amazing. The burgers come with different buns so its always your style and taste.
Barry L — Google review
Great service, cocktails are great and burgers are just fine. The combinations are great but I had a hard time reading the menu in German. Staff was very helpful though. Prices are reasonable. Decor and presentation was also really good. The Photos speak for itself. I recommend the burgers without the bun... I think it is better without the bread.

Definitely one of the best Bürgerbars in Koblenz!! Recommend to come and visit. Nice atmosphere, definitely great burgers. Full coverage of WiFi, clean toilets!! Recommend
Jusuf H — Google review
I used to love this place due to their burgers, sweet potato fries, overall menu and service. I don’t know what happened in the last year, but the quality of the burger, the brioche and the fries are simply not in the level like before. The worse sweet potatoes I have eaten in long time, they were semi burnt, not crunchy and not well made. Perhaps the quality of the fries were just too cheap. Similar case with the brioche, it was like still frozen, and the chicken burger was smelling weird. Indeed not what u expected from Hans and Gluck. 😭😭 I would say… they really went down with the quality and keep the price.
Interpol — Google review
A decent experience for customised burgers and refreshing drinks. The people who waited our table were very friendly, pleasant and considerate. A must for the Burger lovers. Although I’m not a burger lover myself, I’d be happy to give it another try for the outdoor environment and a decent food.

The Schängel Fountain in Koblenz, created by Carl Burger in 1940, commemorates the local poet Josef Cornelius. It is a popular tourist attraction and worth visiting. The fountain features a bronze boy statue and has an interesting backstory worth researching. Additionally, during the Christmas season, there are Advent markets with friendly stallholders who can speak English. The signage is clear and easy to read, and clean toilet facilities are available for a fee of 50 cents.
A statue of a young chap who periodically spits water at you! Good fun. The ‘spitting’ of the water happens at random intervals so careful that you don’t get a soaking. Great fun for the kids.
Jenn B — Google review
It was a better surprise when visiting in the middle of a rainstorm, as 1. You couldn't see evidence of the spitting, and 2. You're already as wet as you could get. 😂 Was fun to see, and the surrounding Altstadt was very pretty.
Elder H — Google review
Nice place with a historic fountain. Must see during the day to experience “the spitting” of the boy.
Hammes G — Google review

So very busy, but magically Christmas. Clean toilet facilities available. 50 cents to use. Easy to read signage. The stall holders for the Advent markets are friendly and most are able to speak English.
Christine I — Google review
Designed by Carl Burger and dedicated to Koblenz poet Joseph Cornelius, the Schangel Fountain has the bronze statue of a boy spitting water, on a column with the portraits of Cornelius and Kraehmer, and the coat-of-arms of Koblenz. During the French rule in Koblenz in the 19th century, the name was used as a local variation of the French "Jean", a name for the occupiers from France and for the children, the "Schängelchen", who arose from the fraternization. The nickname remained and in 1914 Josef Cornelius wrote the Schängel song, which is still very popular today and which finally cemented the name. In 1941 the artist Carl Burger unveiled the Schängel Fountain, made of bronze and basalt, which since then has been spitting cheerfully on the town hall square. The Mayen boy Rudolf Dany served as the model.

Schloss Koblenz, also known as the Electoral Palace, is a magnificent 18th-century neoclassical palace complex located on the banks of the Rhine River near Deutsches Eck. It was built between 1777 and 1793 by Elector Clemens Wenzeslaus of Saxony and is considered one of the most significant palace buildings in southwest Germany. The palace boasts a grand design with lavish gardens and a terrace garden overlooking the Rhine.
A lovely place located at the convergence of the Rhine and the Moselle River. The work Koblenz is derived from the word confluence or the junction of two rivers. Close to the entrance to the scenic Rhine Gorge, a beautiful area of scenery and castles.

It's a nice place on the shore of Rhine, where you can hang out with Ur friends and have a Bier . The green meadows over here are the best place in city centre , where you can have outdoor games. There is also a small children's play area and also a Skating area, where you can practice and do Skating skills.

VERY BEAUTIFUL. On the outside you have a castle park which has a walking track, beautiful view of castle for photoshoots and also includes a playground portion for kids which has many options for kids to play. Then you pass through the interior of the Schloss and go to the back which opens into a beautiful garden, a monument to take pictures with and you can go down via stairs to walk along the Rhine and enjoy the view of the water and the other side of Rhine. Cool place to chill, take pics and enjoy.

BE CAREFUL: The parking garage closes at 20:30 (8:30pm). That means you CANNOT GET IN after that time at all. If you parked there and stayed out in the city later than 20:30, you will be locked out of the garage and unable to access your car. A security worker (nice guy though! 😄) has to come personally let you in. It costs $45 cash and takes about 20 minutes before security can help you. The signage should be better. I’ve never in my life experienced anything like this before.

The Koblenz Card is a good idea, but doesn't work. I planned to use it for a ship tour with KD carrier, but though all tours are advertised by KD it looks that only few in reality are offered for the discount. Others, in cooperation with Gilles are not offered, but that is explained only when one wants to buy a ticket. Without ship tour, the Koblenz Card is just a rip off.

Nice people, very welcoming. Two things bothered me though : 1- We wanted to check out some castles on the Mosel. They gave us a map that was inaccurate in terms of bus itinerary. For a good while, the bus was driving on the "wrong" side of the river, and also at some point in went back towards Koblenz. The map didn't indicate those things very well, so we were quite scared we had the wrong bus for a good 15-20 minutes. 2- The 1st castle we went to was closed for the week. We only found out once at the gate, after an hour and a half of walk. It was pretty disappointing. I would have expected the tourist center to know about closures in July. But i dunno, maybe that's too much expectations to have.

In addition to original boats and mechanical parts, ship models, paintings, fish, bones, and steam engines of all sizes, there are also castle models, wine vessels, and a loading crane in front of the building. The museum is largely organized by era. Thus, it's not just a classic ship museum, but one that explores the Rhine in all its diverse themes in detail and thoughtfully. Even if the museum appears somewhat antiquated at first glance, newer exhibits and a scientific approach are also evident. Thus, it's less of a fully digitized children's adventure world, like many modern museums, but more of a classic exhibit museum where, with enough motivation to read the signs, you can gain a seemingly endless amount of information. Bags can be left at the cash register or locked away.

Görresplatz, located in the old town of Koblenz, has a rich history dating back to Roman times. The square was officially named Görresplatz in 1946 to honor Joseph Görres, a prominent figure in Koblenz's history. One of the main attractions on the square is a historical column standing at approximately 10 meters high, featuring ten three-dimensional scenes that depict the city's history.

Scenic spot
The Ruppertsklamm is a steep ravine located in Niederwesterwald Region in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It was developed by Theodor Zais between 1910 and 1912 and is an excellent hiking area with rugged trails that often get slippery due to the wetness of the rocks. While it can be busy during good weather, it's well worth checking out if you're looking for a beautiful nature experience.
Beautiful area for hiking. Trails are clearly marked and there is ample parking. Lots of variety. You can make the hike as long, short, steep, or gradual as you like. Slippery if you decide to view the creek, be careful if fear of falling. Not crowded but there is good cell coverage in the event you need to call for help. I did not see any restrooms.

Was in town for a night and found this place via a web search. The reviews were good and one of them mentioned "Goth." Went to their Facebook page (Druckluftkammer) and sure enough saw many a black shirts. Yes! For I love the Goth. Only had to do an emergency shopping run for a black shirt. Luckily, found one at Woolworth for only 3 euros. Their Facebook event page listed: In Taberna Greetings Fool folk - to an evening with bagpipe sounds, Drehleiher, flute and Schalmei! Dance and hustle and bustle, loud laughter, rude jokes and mischievous women - raise your drinking horn and take a good swig of mead on the exuberant celebration! Well get it! Get dressed properly, as is the custom and save 2 coins on the way. Students and apprentices are also allowed to enter our cellar vaults for 2 coins less. DJ Brinnanti at the regulators to Medieval, Medieval Rock, Medieval, Folk! Medieval Rock, Medieval, Folk? Dudes and dudettes, this was great. Plenty of people dressed in medieval garb and the sound of bagpipes was in the air. Very dance-able tunes and affordable drinks. I am a person who loves Renaissance and Medieval fairs so this was right up my ally. Also, the ambiance of bar was great with low ceilings and a bench seat that came out of the wall. My husband and I had a very nice dinner here tonight. The view is amazing, combined with the beautiful weather, you can't go wrong sitting on the patio. We had the beet tartar appetizer, I had the Parmesan steak, my husband had the Bolognese, all very good. My only complaint was the wine, no reds, just a rose... The food here is truly outstanding and clearly made with high-quality, regional ingredients. The burgers were a revelation—perfectly seasoned . The reason for four stars instead of five is the time it took to get our food; it was quite busy, and we waited nearly 45 minutes for our main dishes. However, the quality made up for the delay. Come a bit earlier if you can!

This restaurant was recommended by one of my coworkers as a great destination for good food and a perfect view of the Rhein. The view is lovely as you would expect, however the place smells of burnt cooking oil due to the insufficient ventilation (like most old restaurants in Germany). The seating upstairs is fine (tables for 6-8) however be prepared to sit next to someone else in case the restaurant gets crowded. This was a "warning" before we were sat by our waitress. The presentation of the food is acceptable, but not on the fancy side. We ordered a salmon and a burger. The salmon was fine, while the accompanying vegetables were not prepared well. The potatoes tasted like premade ones from the shop and not like proper gourmet food. The burger was unfortunately not edible. The meat had a foul taste, and after 2 bites, the urge to vomit was very present. The waitress asked if she could replace it with something else, but we declined as the there was no more appetite. We did not eat anything else and paid the full bill (~60€) The upsetting of the stomach continued until the evening. On the plus side, the staff is very friendly. Our experience was not on par with the recommendations. For this price category, one would expect a much better food experience.

The food was nice, but the service was lacking! Waitress who took our order was very distracted and failed to place our order, so another member of staff had to return 15 mins later to retake our order, and he was also very distracted! They seem to be very focused on getting people seated but not so keen on quality of service once seated! Poot form!! 👎🏻

The view is stunning. Great service with a smile. And we only ordered a 🍺

It was a very pleasant visit. The cake and coffee where great, but it would have been better had we received both at the same time. Waitresses are not very organized with kitchen staff or vise versa. By the time we got our cake the coffee was almost cold.

Located in the Langemarck-Kaserne, Wehrtechnische Studiensammlung Koblenz is one of Germany's most extensive military technology exhibitions. The museum spans five floors and covers 1.7 acres, showcasing an impressive array of military hardware including planes like the Lockheed F-104, tanks such as Leopard and II, helicopters, heavy guns, tactical uniforms, light arms, ammunition, and communications technology.
What an incredible museum. I did not expect it to be that great. Apart from the main halls, there are also 4 levels of firearms collections and everything else from navigation to computers. Just incredible. Make sure you also visit the stunning military library nearby, that was an amazing surprise.

Amazing! Hidden gem of military museums! Amazing collection of prototype weapons, devices, nightvision, tanks and airplanes, more than 100 cannons. Dont forget to go upstairs!! Entry is only 3 euros (coins only) price should be higher for what it is!

One of the largest collections I've visited (±4hours), certainly worth going here especially for those that are interested in the technical aspects of military vehicles and equipment. They also have a gyrojet and G11 prototypes :). There is parking available at the museum and a bookshop with a ton of historical books around the corner.

Amazing place to have an overview of the Military Arsenals during different time periods. Make sure you visit all the levels, we almost missed it. Great Personal and facility, for a great experience.

Great display of military technology. A lot of interesting weapons and they are well preserved. One big minus is, tha absolute lack of english descriptions. My german is limited, and I had to use foto translator to get some information about things, that were interesting .

Hidden gem. You know the visit is going to be interesting when the "receptionists" carry sidearms and you need to have photo ID to get in! Huge and varied collection of vehicles, aircraft and weapons collected to educate and train past and current service personnel. Some really unique exhibits you are unlikely to see anywhere else. Very low entry fee but you do have to use coin operated gates (money changing machine is available. Small free car park and toilets on site. Main Halls with large items are located on ground floor with other floors holding smaller items such as personal weapons. As it is not a true "touristy" site there is no cafe or restaurant available if you're looking for meal etc. Highly recommend a visit for anyone interested in military history.

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time here the spring of 2024. The exhibits, pieces, and information found here are plentiful. The staff was very kind and the facility itself is well taken care of. Next time I visit family in Germany I will make sure to visit again.

So many floors and so much to see. There are some very interesting machines. I even got to see The Enigma machine. The museum is very neatly organized. As someone that isnt fluent in German the signs were easily translated with the googletranslate app so I didnt feel like I missed out.

The Preußisches Regierungsgebäude, also known as the Prussian Government building, is a stunning stone structure located along the Rhine. Built in 1905 in neo-Romanesque style, it served as the seat of government during Prussian times and remarkably survived World War II practically unscathed. Visitors have likened its grandeur to that of Hogwarts and praised its majestic presence at sunset.
Might sound silly but this place reminded me somewhat of Hogwarts. The sun was setting so the lighting was just magical and this neo-romantic building is so majestic that you can't just pass by without admiring it and snapping a few shots.
