1MAIN TOWER

Observation deck
In Frankfurt, there are numerous attractions and activities to explore, including the Main Tower. This skyscraper offers unparalleled panoramic views of the city from its public viewing observatory. Visitors can admire iconic buildings such as the Commerzbank Tower, Deutsche Bank Twin Towers, and Trianon while taking in the 360-degree vistas. Additionally, Main Tower features a restaurant and bar just below the observation deck, providing an opportunity to savor both cuisine and scenery.
Breathtaking 360° View of Frankfurt – Well Worth the Visit! An absolutely stunning 360° view of Frankfurt awaits you from the rooftop! It’s one of the best places to take in the city skyline from above. Tickets can be purchased directly at the entrance—€9.00 for adults. The staff was very friendly and professional. While there can sometimes be a queue at the entrance, it was thankfully quiet when I visited. Security is well organized—your bags are scanned before heading up in the elevator. There’s even a toilet available on the 54th floor, just one level below the rooftop, which is convenient if you need it during your visit. Overall, it’s a must-do in Frankfurt, especially if you’re into cityscapes and photography. Highly recommend visiting on a clear day for the best experience!
JOSE P — Google review
Great views from up there, but it was way too windy. the ticked was only 9€, the linie to buy the ticket there was not long, the people that work there are super niceee Ofc its worth to go up there once you are in Frankfurt, i would prefer it nights too.
V — Google review
Amazing views of Frankfurt! The Main Tower Observatory is a must-visit — super fast elevator, friendly staff, and the view from the top is incredible. You can see the whole city, the river, and even the hills in the distance. I went during the night and the view with city lights were beautiful. Totally worth it! It’s €9 for adults to go up the elevator with unlimited time at the top. So you can stay as long as you want. You will need to go through a security checkpoint first before getting on the elevator Overall, extremely worth the view if you are in Frankfurt!
Jack F — Google review
Worth visiting once. There will be sitting area as well. I recommend once. No time limit for staying top. Camera is allowed. Beautiful view from the top. Ticket price is 9€ per person. Toilets available.
Rajala M — Google review
Totally worth the visit! The view from almost 60 floors up is breathtaking, you can see all of Frankfurt and beyond! The platform feels safe and open, and the atmosphere is amazing, especially at sunset. A must-see if you’re in the city! And you go by elevator ofc! It takes 1 minute to go up. Also it has discount with Frankfurt ticket.
Freya N — Google review
If you’ve been up to an observation platform on a big city building before, they all do seem to be similar but still fun. The Frankfurt main tower is no exception with some great views and an overly slow security and ticket process which you should allow extra time for. There are bathrooms up top and people are all friendly and willing to help take photos.
Reed B — Google review
A great observation tower offering a full panoramic view of Frankfurt. There’s an enclosed platform, and if you climb a bit higher, you’ll reach an open-air deck. A family ticket costs €20 — definitely worth visiting!
Ieva Z — Google review
Lovely view and all that but the viewing platform (vp) was very icy and dangerous (we were warned however, not that it makes it better). There are 3 flights of stairs AFTER the lift to reach the viewing platform (vp) that you are not informed about until you have to climb them. A lot of the buildings we wanted to know about were not featured on the maps around the vp (can't please everyone) however, when using the 'more details' QR code available I was presented with this message...

Located in the lively city of Frankfurt, Goethe House is the birthplace and childhood home of the renowned writer and politician Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Visitors can take a tour of this historical house featuring period interiors and exhibitions. The house offers a glimpse into Goethe's life, allowing guests to explore the rooms where he wrote his famous works. The collection includes original manuscripts, artwork, and personal belongings.
One of the must-visit tourist attractions in Frankfurt because it offers a deep insight into the life and times of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Visitors can explore the rooms where Germany’s most famous writer lived, see authentic furniture, and learn about his early inspirations. A great place for literature and history lovers.
IWA S — Google review
Historic Site of Goethe's House where he was born and spent his young life. Multiple languages available for explanation on items displayed through an APP. I recommend you bring your headphone/bluetooth. Tickets are €12 per adult. They have a family rate. You need to be able to walk up and down stairs a lot. Enjoyed the visit as I do admire his life.
Sung K — Google review
Combination of two museums under one roof: historic birthplace of Johann van Goethe and museum of German romanticism. Striking difference between meticulously restored residence of the poet with attention to details and period’s furniture and modern part of romanticism museum. If you are short on time, Goethe’s old house is a must and also first floor with paintings of the other museum.
Mike Z — Google review
Fascinating museum with great renovations! The house looks beautiful inside. They give you a map, which makes it super easy to explore each room. There’s also an upper museums with lots of interesting exhibits and interactive things to see. Definitely worth visiting! You can get a discount with the Frankfurt Card.
Freya N — Google review
Visiting the Goethe House was such a great experience—it truly feels like stepping back in time to see how Goethe lived. Every corner of the house is filled with history: the kitchen displays old dishes you may have never even heard of, the games they played are still there, and the architecture and atmosphere are unforgettable. Even the smell carries a sense of the past. I wish homes like this were still being built today, but sadly times have changed. We only had a short layover in Frankfurt, and since it was on a quiet Sunday, visiting here was absolutely worth it.
Soraya L — Google review
Much more to this museum than we expected! Wonderful restored home with period furnishings and original artwork. Descriptions were in both German and English so we could understand and enjoy it fully. Don't miss this when you are in Frankfurt!
Jenny C — Google review
Nice place to visit in Frankfurt. The house is well kept and gives a glimpse of Goethe’s life. Not too big, easy to explore in about an hour. Worth a stop if you enjoy history and culture 🏠📚
Supanee K — Google review
Had a 12 hour layover and decided to visit this museum. It was money well spent and an afternoon of delight stepping into every room and space of Goethe history! I love the old grandfather clock that still works and the chime thrills through the house of Goethe, standby every half hour. We kept missing it. Piecing together the story of Joseph in one of the rooms was therapeutic esp for someone who doesn’t speak or read German. Thank God for google translator. The visit has a calming effect like as though I was brought back in time. The large glass frontage featuring the garden offered two perspectives. One from the front and the other from the inside looking out. After all isn’t the arts about perspective?? There’s a cool and ancient water fountain that I manage to refill my water bottle. It was refreshing to drink from the tap and the charge of 24€ for two person was well worth the ticket price. We got more than what we paid for. There was also a special corner where I could place a music score on a special device where I could listen to narration of the music composition by Robert Schumann and actually listened to the music being played. It was interactive and amazing. Love the modernity without compromising the beauty of historical arts and the subtlety of tech being used. Totally awesome!! For those with bags in tow rest assured there is proper storage for you to be hands free. Storage is free.

The Städel Museum is a renowned art gallery in Frankfurt, Germany, featuring an extensive collection of European art from the Middle Ages to the present day. It is one of the must-see attractions in the city, offering visitors a journey through seven centuries of artistic expression. In addition to Städel, Frankfurt boasts other cultural institutions such as MMK for modern art, Liebighaus for sculpture, and Schirn for modern and contemporary exhibitions.
It is nice museum with multiple floors, famous art, and contemporary selections as well. We have spent the whole day. Toilets are nice and clean. The person at the first place before stairs was very informative and friendly 💐👍😀. Lockers are nice and have 1 or 2 € deposit. Roof top was nice. Strongly recommend seeing this museum 👌. It is a bit expensive though, 16 € per person.
Ahmet T — Google review
this is definitely a museum that you should take the time to see. They have three floors a various artist and art. It’s quite pricey. It’s €18 per person which I find expensive. entrance. People at the cashier were very nice. They were helpful. They also have bathrooms which were very clean a gift shop they also had a small café with a lovely young lady behind it who could speak English I’m always happy when that happens since I don’t speak German and I ordered a piece of the apple pie which she recommended and it was delicious and a cup of cappuccino. It’s a nice way to spend 2 to 3 hours enjoying the beautiful art.
Harriet M — Google review
Was skeptical it would be worth the 16 euro entry fee but for what you get, the price is reasonable or even cheap. The sheer scale of this place and the range in its collection is mind boggling. Beautifully curated. Temporary exhibition that was on at my time of visit was also very thought provoking. Exhibits range from religious paintings to contemporary paintings to sculptures to photographs and multimedia. I almost missed the underground exhibits but 100% make it a point to stop by. The modern experimental art is incredible (funded by various German institutions I believe). Genuinely could spend hours there. You can casually see famous artists works displayed. Lovely staff as well. 10/10. That’s how you do an art museum!!
Niko C — Google review
Had a nice experience and spent my time well. There was Carl Schuhe collection when I went and I really like it. Also went up to the rooftop and saw the city skyline. The cafe is also cozy and has good collection of cakes. 18 EUR well spent.
Sanchita S — Google review
Amazing museum with an incredible collection! You can see works by Rembrandt, Kandinsky, Bosch, and many others - really fascinating to explore! The contemporary art floor is also super interesting, full of creative and thought-provoking pieces. Everything is well organized and beautifully displayed. A must-visit for anyone who loves art! Also discount with Frankfurt ticket.
Freya N — Google review
Amazing collection of Classical, contemporary & Modern works of art. Easily able to spent 3 hours there. Also the view of Frankfurt skyline was very impressive. Didn't have to go to the Main Tower for it.
Josie B — Google review
Fantastic art museum with a strong mix of German masters and international icons. You’ll see everything from Renaissance to contemporary art. My personal favorite: “Youth Tempted by the Vices” by Luca Giordano — dramatic, full of energy, and unforgettable. A cultural must-see in Frankfurt!
Kevin4r — Google review
An overall pleasant space surrounded by beautiful architecture, artistically designed staircase leading up to the rooftop terrace, overlooking the River Main and Frankfurt’s skyline. Stadel didn’t seem to have as many star attractions as some of the larger museums, but Schuch and French Art exhibition was an interesting theme. I downloaded their app to see if that would work as an audio guide, but it unfortunately didn’t work.

Frankfurt Cathedral, also known as Kaiserdom, is a stunning Gothic-style Catholic cathedral that boasts Renaissance frescoes and offers panoramic city views from its tower. It was once the tallest building in the city until skyscrapers like the Main Tower and Commerzbank Tower surpassed it. Dedicated to St. Bartholomew, this Roman Catholic church played a significant role in the Holy Roman Empire's elections and coronations.
Beautiful cathedral. Really enjoyed the experience. I went to the top of the tower, the staircase is really narrow steep and long so be prepared for a bit of a hike but once you are at the top it's a full 360° view of the city. The price was quite reasonable I believe it was €5 per person but I could be mistaken. 10/10 if in Frankfurt this is a great place to go. There's also lots of historical buildings in the vicinity including places to eat or grab coffee. Great place to spend an afternoon.
Oliver S — Google review
recently visited Frankfurt’s main square and it was an unforgettable experience. The beautiful historic buildings create such a charming atmosphere, taking you back in time with their unique architecture. What truly amazed me was the sound of the church bells – so powerful and mesmerizing that it filled the whole square with a magical feeling. I even recorded a video to capture the moment, but being there in person was beyond compare. A must-visit spot in Frankfurt, full of history, beauty, and soul.
Zulia — Google review
The Frankfurt Cathedral is stunning — full of history and beautiful architecture. Climbing the tower is totally worth it for the amazing city views! Inside, it’s peaceful and impressive, with lots of detail to admire. A must-visit if you’re exploring the old town!
Jack F — Google review
Beautiful and awe-inspiring cathedral in Frankfurt. Majestic structure which has peculiar aesthetic finish, especially inside it. What strikes a visitor first is the marvellous collection of statues and paintings. It is not very spectacular when viewed from a distance but when you are inside you are wonder-struck at the great assemblage of rare statues and paintings. The tall columns and arches all add to the grandeur of the cathedral. The picture of St Bartholomew being flayed alive gives a shudder to you.
Dr G — Google review
Frankfurt Cathedral (German: Frankfurter Dom), officially Imperial Dome of Saint Bartholomew (German: Kaiserdom Sankt Bartholomäus), is a Roman Catholic Gothic church located in the heart of Frankfurt am Main, Germany. It is dedicated to Saint Bartholomew. Quite unique as an cathedral, as the entire architecture was painted in ♥️ red; and the famous story is that all the surroundings were mostly destroyed during WWII, but not Frankfurt Cathedral.
Bill L — Google review
It's a place to be! First church here was built in 7th century! And particularly this cafedral was fully built in 1550 and saw many kings of the Wholy Roman Empire crowned! If you compare the pictures from 17 century and nowadays, you feel the importance and richness of history of this place! By the way, being here is not about Christian or whatever, this is about enriching yourself culturally! I stress it from my non- Christian background!
Bakhtiiar I — Google review
Must go! I'm not religious and wasn't planning on going. Would have regret. It's very impressive! There was a old lady greater who didn't apostatize and gave me a full run down of Frankfurt and the church's role.

The Kaiserdom is Frankfurt’s iconic Gothic cathedral, known for its tall red-sandstone tower and its role as the coronation site of Holy Roman Emperors. It’s one of the city’s most important historic landmarks.

Palmengarten Frankfurt is a sprawling botanical garden established in the 19th century, featuring an impressive collection of palm and orchid species showcased within its greenhouses. This renowned attraction is part of the must-see sights and activities in Frankfurt, alongside other landmarks such as Romerberg, Stadel Museum, and Frankfurt Zoo. Visitors can also explore local culture through dining options and budget-friendly accommodations while indulging in shopping experiences at Zeil Shopping District or enjoying vibrant nightlife scenes.
I visited the Palmengarten in Frankfurt am Main today 🌿 Such a peaceful oasis in the city. I really enjoyed wandering through the diverse plant collections, enjoying the lush greenery and the little hidden gems such as the charming ponds with fountains. The vibrant colors of the flowers were a delight and it was the perfect escape to connect with nature ❤️❤️❤️

Beautiful garden, it's so soothing to walk here. Families with kids, couples and groups enjoyed the mood. Next time we'll visit them on weekdays because the crowd was huge. We anticipated amazing butterflies but there weren't many.

The palmengarten was absolutely stunning and well taken care of, lots to see and the atmosphere is amazing. Its a great place for all ages, they have an awesome play area for the kids too. I just wish there were more toilets but other then that the place is a must see
Ra'eesah S — Google review
Took my girlfriend on a date here and would happily return for more (both to the girl and the garden). The ticket price is well worth the experience, and I’d strongly recommend it to anyone who is looking to escape the cityscape into a lovely area of natural beauty. My only complaint was that it was so popular that many other people had the same idea I did, resulting in some over-crowding in a few of the areas. But overall, it receives 5 stars from me and a desire to return to lose myself there in the future.
William S — Google review
Vast, almost otherworldly botanic gardens. Fascinating any time of the year if you have any interests in plants and botany. I went in autumn and the park was radiant with autumn colour. I went round clockwise from the Palmentgartenstrasse side and the think this was best. Started with nice lake views then onto the butterfly house and then the mind boggling greenhouses with various climate controlled zones.
Robert O — Google review
Excellent botanical garden! Very large, with a wide variety of ecosystems. The tropicarium ranges from the Himalayan mountains to the deserts of South America. Above the waterfall there is a nice city view. In the underground grotto, there are aquariums with fish and plants from all over the world.
Lenka H — Google review
We had some time to waste before a flight and this was the perfect place - in fact it might become a routine to spend time here to finish the yearly Europe stay. Very well mentioned from the grow houses to the passways and bathrooms. It would be amazing if one of the snack stations had vegan options on the menu (might have overlooked one?) Very friendly staff around, too. Thank you Palmengarten!

A Tranquil Escape in the Heart of Frankfurt – Palmengarten Review I visited the Palmengarten on a sunny afternoon and was completely enchanted. Nestled right in the heart of Frankfurt, this botanical garden is an oasis of peace and natural beauty. From the moment I stepped through the gates, I was struck by how well-maintained and thoughtfully curated everything is. Each greenhouse tells its own story—from tropical rainforests and desert landscapes to exotic blooms I had never seen before. The palm house in particular is stunning, with towering trees and a warm, humid atmosphere that instantly transports you to another world. What really made my experience special was the sense of calm that permeates the entire garden. Even though it’s a popular spot, it never felt overcrowded. There are plenty of benches to sit and relax, and the pathways are wide enough to wander at your own pace. I especially enjoyed the rose garden and the lake area, where families and couples were picnicking or just enjoying the view. Whether you’re a nature lover, a photographer, or simply looking for a serene break from city life, Palmengarten is a must-visit. It’s suitable for all ages and offers something year-round—lush greenery in summer, colorful blossoms in spring, and atmospheric strolls in the cooler months.

Kleinmarkthalle is a bustling market hall in Frankfurt, housing over 60 vendors offering a diverse range of groceries, flowers, wine, and prepared foods. It is located close to the famous Zeil shopping street and features 156 stalls open every day except Sunday. Visitors can explore an array of fresh produce including cheese, meat, vegetables, fruit, confectionery, bread, and pastries from the region.
This is a must visit in Frankfurt, It has dozens of independent market stalls offering almost anything food related you can think of. many vendors offer free samples of products so you can try before you buy. Me and my girlfriend brought dried fruits, pineapple and apple, to make this decision the vendor gave us samples of about 10 different products. we also tried several cheeses and meats. this place is even fun to go and browse. prices were reasonable. close to other near by attractions.

On a long layover in Frankfurt, our family stumbled upon a charming local market. It's very much a food-centric spot, with tempting street food everywhere – we just wished we weren't so full! We did find some authentic German honey and beautiful plants. It's a fantastic place to escape the heat, offering a cool indoor experience on a sunny day. My only regret was not finding a souvenir that could survive the journey home in warm weather.
Hisham A — Google review
An indoor market. A visual treat, a large selection of fruits and vegetables, butchers and spice and sweet stalls, food stalls including comfortable seating at the end of the market, a garden growing store full of vegetable and garden crop seeds, and really interesting animal raising tools.
Moti N — Google review
Kleinmarkthalle is such a fun place to spend a lunch time or afternoon! There’s so many places to get delicious food and drinks and it has a really electric atmosphere! We visited on a weekend and the market was extended to stands outside, which were packed. It is definitely one to expect to be crowded but it was well worth the visit. I would recommend going for drinks so that you can walk around and pick up some deli ingredients for snacks 😋.

Lovely market with plenty of fresh meats, fruit, veg with some nice wee cafes and wine bars. Joes delicatessen is definitely worth a visit, gorgeous salami and wine.

If you want to feel the heartbeat of Frankfurt, look no further than Kleinmarkthalle. This indoor market is a vibrant and bustling hub where locals and visitors mingle, offering a slice of authentic German daily life with an international twist. From the moment you walk through the entrance — a simple but welcoming sign urging you “Auf die Kleinmarkthalle!” — you know you’re in for a treat. The market is alive with the hum of conversations, the aroma of fresh produce, and the dazzling colors of fruits, vegetables, flowers, and baked goods. Inside, the variety is stunning. You’ll find gorgeous cakes and tarts, like the ones beautifully displayed here: crumbly Streuselkuchen, glossy strawberry tarts, and towering cheesecakes dusted with powdered sugar. Each looks homemade, hearty, and utterly irresistible — perfect for a midday treat or a sweet souvenir. Further down the lanes, stalls burst with fresh produce: juicy strawberries, brilliant red currants, exotic fruits, and an impressive display of white asparagus (Spargel), a true German spring delicacy. Fresh mushrooms and artisan products add to the rich variety, and everything is beautifully laid out, making it a pleasure just to browse. The layout of the hall is practical yet charming. Upstairs, there’s a mezzanine where you can get a bird’s-eye view of the market’s bustle below — a sea of stalls and colorful canopies. Small eateries and cafés are scattered around, perfect for taking a break and sampling the local flavors. One charming find is Mathilda, a stand advertising homemade brownies and tarts, with a playful chalkboard encouraging you to “Eat cake!” — sound advice when surrounded by such delicious temptation. Navigating the market is easy, with wide aisles and a relaxed vibe that invites slow wandering. Despite its central location, Kleinmarkthalle retains a sense of local authenticity — it’s not just a tourist attraction but a beloved part of Frankfurt life.
Clifton P — Google review
The Kleinmarkthalle is an absolute Frankfurt gem, a vibrant hub that awakens all your senses! Stepping inside is like entering a culinary wonderland. The array of fresh food is breathtaking – from seasonal fruits and vegetables bursting with color to artisanal cheeses and baked goods. For meat lovers, the quality of the butchers is exceptional, offering prime cuts and regional specialties. And it's not just about groceries; the atmosphere is truly alive. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafts through the air, inviting you to pause and soak it all in. Beyond the edibles, the stunning flowers stalls add a splash of beauty, making it a perfect spot to find a thoughtful gift or simply brighten your day. It's more than a market; it's an experience, a true taste of local life.

St. Paul's Church, also known as Paulskirche, is a significant redbrick church in Frankfurt that serves as a memorial to the beginning of German democracy. It has been repurposed to host concerts and exhibitions. The original construction began in 1789, coinciding with the French Revolution. The church was where the first freely-elected legislative body in Germany, the Frankfurter National Assembly, convened in 1849.
Another unmissable place in the heart of Frankfurt. A spot for the first German parliament I can recommend the church to be visited. On the lower floor is a very interesting digital exhibition about the history of the building. The main room, the planery hall can be found on the upper floor. No entrance fee, recommended to go for it!

From the outside the church looks really good, even tho kinda small. Sadly, I couldn't get inside, because the heavy rain complicated my plans. I wish I could.

St. Paul’s Church in Frankfurt is a symbol of German democracy. Although no longer used as a church, it now hosts exhibitions and serves as a memorial site, offering great insights into German history. Definitely worth a visit.
KY W — Google review
St. Paul's Church has come to symbolize German democracy since the first German parliament took place here in 1848 and 1849. The church itself was designed by Johann Andreas Liebhardt (1713-1788). It was rebuilt after World War II by the prominent German church architect Rudolf Schwarz (1897-1961). On the outer wall of the church, there are numerous monuments including for John F. Kennedy (who spoke in the church in 1963), Theodor Heuss, Friedrich Ebert, and Carl Schurz, among others. The church is used for the annual award of the peace prize of the German book trade association. You can see its numerous illustrious award recipients on two plaques on the inside of the church. The main room is decorated with the flags of the German states.

St. Paul’s Church in Frankfurt is a historically significant landmark renowned for its role in German democracy. It is a former Protestant church used as a national assembly hall. The church is particularly celebrated for hosting the first freely elected German parliament in 1848. The church's neoclassical architecture, with its impressive circular nave and red sandstone facade, adds to its visual appeal. Inside, the spacious and serene interior provides a contemplative atmosphere. However the interior is very basic, so you could skip it unless you participating in some event.

Alte Oper is a historic opera house in Frankfurt, originally opened in 1880 and reconstructed after World War II. It offers classical concert programs and stands as one of the city's cultural landmarks alongside other attractions like Romerberg, Romer, Archaeological Museum & Garden, and Frankfurt Cathedral. The city also boasts a vibrant cultural scene with venues such as Schirn Kunsthalle and the German Architecture Museum.
Visiting the Old Opera House in Frankfurt was truly a magical experience. As I approached the building, I was immediately struck by its grand architecture – the intricate details, the grand columns, and the way it majestically stands against the modern skyline. It felt like stepping back in time to an era of elegance and classical beauty. Inside, the atmosphere was equally enchanting. The acoustics were incredible, and whether it’s a concert or just a casual visit, the ambiance transports you to a world of music and art. I couldn't help but admire the beautiful chandeliers and classic interior design, which add to the timeless charm of the place. Overall, the Old Opera House is a must-see in Frankfurt, whether you're an opera enthusiast or simply looking to experience a piece of the city's cultural heritage. I highly recommend adding it to your itinerary!

First time entering this gorgeous building and it didn't disappoint. The staff were friendly and available , the auditorium spacious and acoustically good. You do need to take out a bank loan for a drink at the interval but all in all a great place for a show
ScooterVonHootananny — Google review
The Frankfurt Opera is without question one of Europe’s finest cultural treasures. From the moment you step inside, you feel the blend of tradition and modernity that makes this house so unique. The acoustics are outstanding – no matter where you sit, the sound is rich, balanced, and powerful, allowing every detail of the orchestra and singers to be fully appreciated. The productions are consistently world-class. The repertoire strikes an impressive balance between beloved classics and bold contemporary works, offering something for both seasoned opera lovers and newcomers. Stage design, lighting, and direction are often daring and innovative, yet always respectful of the music and story. The orchestra performs with extraordinary precision and warmth, and the ensemble cast is among the strongest in Europe, with many performances easily rivaling those in Vienna, Berlin, or Milan. The experience is not only about the performance itself. The atmosphere in the foyer is elegant but not pretentious, with a welcoming feel that makes the evening special. Staff are professional and helpful, from ticketing to ushers, contributing to a smooth and enjoyable visit. The venue is also centrally located, making it easy to combine a performance with dinner or a walk through Frankfurt’s lively city center. Overall, the Frankfurt Opera offers an unforgettable experience that sets a high bar for musical and cultural excellence. Whether you are a devoted opera enthusiast or simply curious about the art form, a visit here is absolutely worthwhile.

The zoo is one of the top attractions in Frankfurt, alongside other popular sights like Romerberg, Stadel Museum, and Palmengarten. Visitors can immerse themselves in local culture and explore the city's vibrant restaurant scene.
The zoo is very picturesque! Nicely decorated and great it is good for a weekend family activity. Lots of different animals from all corners of earth, but don't expect to see them all since their enclosures are very big and they often hide. The food is also great and I definitely recommend it!

Pretty great zoo, pretty quiet when I visited. Great variety of animals and species I had never seen before. Loved all of the birds! Pity the shops in the zoo were cash only though! But I enjoyed my time at the zoo with my photos. I would recommend but wouldnt need all day to visit!
Jeremy A — Google review
This zoo offers incredible value with prices significantly better than what I experienced at Dublin Zoo (my only prior comparison). The atmosphere was wonderfully nice and friendly. Unfortunately, my visit was constrained by a flight, which forced me to rush and prevented me from seeing the entire park. Prospective visitors should note that certain popular enclosures, like the giraffes, close 30 minutes prior to the main zoo closing time, which I missed. Overall, it was a very positive experience and a great place to visit on a Sunday in Germany.
Una — Google review
The reptile and nocturnal houses were really cool! Coming from the United States there were a lot of animals I don't see very often in American zoos. It's small-ish in size but they really pack in a lot of animals without feeling like they're in small enclosures. We got here late in the day and spent about 2.5 hours here but we could've spent another hour or two.
Jordan B — Google review
What a fantastic day at the Frankfurt Zoo! A definite highlight for me was the penguin 🐧🐧🐧🐧 enclosure. They are so charming and fun to watch as they waddle around and swim gracefully in the water. The whole zoo is beautifully laid out with so many amazing animals to see. Highly recommend it for a perfect day out! ❤️❤️❤️
Ірина Ф — Google review
It's a small zoo, do not plan to visit for longer than two hours. It's nice but definitely not a destination. Small kids would enjoy a visit, it's not too full with people and you can easily get around on foot. Make sure to bring cash though if you're planning on having a snack (they do not accept anything else. Also Beware, the coffee at the park is a crime against humanity! The dark habitat and the reptile and rodent pavilion deserve a special mention, the animals all seem well taken care of and the enclosures look adequate for the inhabitants. Absolutely worth a visit.
Inna Y — Google review
We had been so looking forward to visiting the zoo in Frankfurt. But it was a complete disappointment. You had to look for a long time for a place to buy either coffee or something to eat. Where were the giraffes? Elephants, lions and tigers. We had been most looking forward to seeing them. There were none of these animals, so definitely not worth the money. So we left very disappointed.
Liskoertz A — Google review
On the good side, there are many kinds of animals, lush and pretty easy to walk around as it’s not too large. The downside was that it’s a bit worn down and old, we didn’t see any lions, tigers and other animals. One penguin looked like it was screaming and dying. Other guests were not too respectful to the animals, banging on the glass wall and pouring water on them. It’s fine for the price though, but 1,5 hours was enough.

Eschenheimer Turm, also known as Eschenheim Tower, is a unique 15th-century landmark in Frankfurt. It is the oldest unchanged landmark in the city and was designed by Madern Gerthener. The tower now houses a restaurant serving global cuisine, a cozy lounge, and outdoor seating. Located in Frankfurt's LGBTQ+-friendly area known as Bermudadreieck, it is surrounded by some of the best gay bars in the city.
Me and my friends had a wonderful dinner here! The Flammkuchen was absolutely delicious – we tried both the vegan option and the salmon prawn seafood one, and both were incredibly flavorful and perfectly prepared. The beer selection was excellent and hit the spot. Beyond the amazing food and drink, the staff was incredibly nice, providing great service throughout our meal. The atmosphere was truly fantastic, making for a really enjoyable evening. It was totally worth it, and we definitely plan to visit again soon!

Good food. Burgers, salad, bruchetta, champions all tasty. However, the humus seemed to be from a family pack / super market. Inside the restaurant was a bit too cool. The winter garden is smoking area with some hot spots. For parking choose a parking garage nearby. No toilet for wheelchairs.

Great landmark location directly at the Eschenheimer Turm/Eschenheimer tower. The restaurant is in the Eschenheimer tower, with great sitting space outside. The historic significance , built in the 1400s adds value to the space. Recommend the burger and fries, friends had the flame and seafood they also loved it. Opens until past midnight so available foe a late meal too.

Thought this was going to be a tourist trap with overpriced average food. How wrong was I? The best beyond meat vegan burger ever with side of fries dusted in paprika served on a brioche with mayo and ketchup on the side. It's in a historic tower in the middle of Frankfurt. The toilets are up the tower, so make sure you've got plenty of time. A really great experience.

During my stay in Frankfurt lastJune, I discovered near my hotel a lovely Coffee-Bar-Restaurant called Eschenheimer. Very good dishes with courteous and professional service. I chose the place to be my home restaurant so I had the chance to taste several dishes ... and each dish was a bingo! Meat, seafood, pizzas, interesting salads ... and great beers. i arrived to Frankfurt once again few days ago and I’m dining there almost every day lunch or dinner. I enjoyed being there on June and I’m happy to be there again this week !

Great place for a cocktail. Happy hour until 22:00. Be warned though the toilets are at the top of the tower! Service is quick and friendly. Prices are reasonable. There’s a cocktail happy hour 18:00-22:00 with many offered at a reduced price of €9.50. Didn’t have food but what other guests had looked good.
Michael M — Google review
Fantastic place to enjoy some drink after dinner. There are many tables outside (blankets are provided for those who suffer cold) and the bar is inside a tall tower you can easy spot from the neighborhood. Sound strange, but I suggest you taking some time to "visit" the toilet that on the 1st floor of the tower (take care of the stairs if you enjoyed too much drinks)
Enrico P — Google review
This restaurant has something very special, is inside and around a tower which was build around the year 1346, the tower was used to protect the city at that time, today this tower at Frankfurt downtown and you can test great international food. Inside the tower, the space is reduced and there is space for the bar and few tables but as mentioned previously around the tower they have tables too, either you want to enjoy good food inside or outside the atmosphere of the place is really nice. What not everybody know is that in this restaurant if you have a bigger event or special occasion you can make a reservation of what they call „Kaminzimmer“ this place is at the top of the tower and has much more space and is really nice to enjoy your drinks and food at the top of the tower. The food that I recommend is the one on hot stones, I love the stakes, prawns or chicken but they have great salads, pasta, pizza, etc. for drinks as well they have a big selection of wines and cocktails. On regards price i think you pay for what you get that is a great experience, moment and good food and drinks. The staff is friendly just in crowded ours somethings you need to wait a little bit to get serve. If you are near to Frankfurt and you are looking for a special place where to enjoy good food and drinks don’t hesitate to visit the Eschenheimer Turn restaurant you will like it.

Historical Museum Frankfurt, located in a building from the 1300s at Romer Square, has expanded with a new wing. The museum showcases over 600,000 artifacts and art pieces that depict Frankfurt's history from medieval times to the present day. Visitors can explore scale models of historic Frankfurt at different periods and witness photos of the city's devastation during World War II. The new wing seamlessly integrates with the historic architecture and features a cafe as well as panoramic city views from its top floor.
A great museum that really captures the essence of Frankfurt’s history. It does a fantastic job highlighting the key figures and characteristics that shaped the city. The collections section was my favorite. The staff were super friendly. I also picked up a lovely gift from the museum shop for my daughter. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Frankfurt!

A very good museum with innovative ideas to present “boring” history. We decided to go during a weekday around noon. We didn’t have to wait to enter and received instructions on how to start the tour. We liked the approaches used to present the city history. Also suitable for kids (possibly the main target group).
George P — Google review
Amazing historical museum. It has an interesting way of telling the history of the city and how it developed from the river harbour to the main economical city of the Europe. There was also when I learned that Anne Frank and family had lived here before they moved to Amsterdam. The lockers are especially good, much better than the Natural History Museum. The usual lockers are very big already, but there are some bigger ones which can fit even a big luggage easily. And for no cost at all! Good option for those who want to spend only one day at the city and want to keep the baggage safe whitout carrying it around. Although one day is not enough to really get to know the wonders of Frankfurt.

Comprehensive museum, covering vast sections of Frankfurt’s history. A great way to spend many hours learning all about Frankfurt, its early start and how it has become the money powerhouse of Europe. Beautiful exhibits with many interactive experiences. Friendly staff, good value for money

Just okay. Two of us paid about $16 Euro to enter the museum. There were 4 floors here. Floor 0 had a cafe, lockers and restrooms. We perused floors 1 - 3 and while there are some good historical items here, we found the museum to be laid out sort of oddly. The oddness may just be from our expectation of historical museums as often, they are laid out in a chronological order with signs and arrows directing you. This place was different. While we won't be back, I wouldn't dissuade anyone from coming here if they have the time and patience to explore it.

The Museum is an absolute gem for anyone interested in history and culture. The exhibitions are incredibly well-curated, offering a deep and engaging look into Frankfurt’s past—from medieval times to the modern day. The museum layout is intuitive, and the interactive displays make the experience both educational and enjoyable. The building itself is a beautiful blend of historic and modern architecture.

It’s an inconsistent scattered museum. Feels like a high school exhibition where different study groups present projects after a course on Frankfurt history. One might wonder if Frankfurt is too boring to have a proper museum its history. I think that’s not the case. The city was e.g. the capital of the German Confederation from 1815-1866. I could not find that information anywhere in this museum. I would have liked to know more. Create different sections in a timeline for the guest to walk through. Build it like any other interesting history museum.

I visited several years ago and was very impressed especially the large area of exhibits about the history ww1 through ww2. So fascinating, about the many elections. Back to this visit and all that interesting stuff is completely gone, and the focus on a lot of little known people with lots of portrait pictures of many Karls and also Kaiser Matthias plus 1000s of coins for which there is no explanation I could find. Very disappointed. Bring back the easy to follow exhibition of 2021/22 times please.

A nice old place where you can enjoy the architecture, people, coffeeshops. In the heart of the old town of frankfurt, the place is very nice and worth a walk.

It’s amazing here, many walking tours also start at this point. This is like a prime touristy spot. Many souvenir are also around and restaurant with various different culture and countries are available. There is also a shopping mall nearby on walking distance. I suggest anyone visiting Frankfurt to visit here

Beautiful historical site. The Romer still stands in Frankfurt in all its majesty. This medieval building is perhaps the city's most important landmark. In the past it was regarded as the most beautiful square in Germany. Now it is a very popular square and a very good spot for photographs. Romer is the seat of the Frankfurt city administration. There was a sizable crowd there when we went to it. There was also some preparations going on for an upcoming national event.

The Römer is absolutely stunning - a must-see when visiting Frankfurt! The old town square around it is full of charm, with half-timbered houses, cafés, and plenty of photo spots. You really get a feel for the city’s history here. It’s especially nice in the evening when the lights come on, and during the Christmas market it looks magical. Easy to reach by foot or public transport, and there are lots of restaurants nearby. A perfect place to start exploring Frankfurt!

The Senckenberg Nature Museum is a large natural history museum that houses an impressive collection of dinosaur skeletons and a giant anaconda. It is one of the must-see attractions in Frankfurt, alongside other popular sights like Romerberg, Stadel Museum, and Frankfurt Zoo. The museum offers visitors a chance to explore the wonders of nature through its extensive exhibits. Additionally, it provides an opportunity to experience local culture and cuisine while being surrounded by fascinating artifacts and displays.
Interesting museum with a large collection of species from all around the world. Everything is well specified and described. You can see a large number of different species, from the ones that are common and that you see everyday, to endangered ones and the ones who are, unfortunatelly, extinct. There is a part with skeletons, which is probably the most attractive part for the average visitor and children. A couple of skeletons of dinosaurs and fossils describe how Earth looked like a long time before humans. It is a nice place to learn, deepen the knowledge and get familiarized with flora and fauna.
Alen V — Google review
Amazing experience🤠 My childhood dream was visiting a natural history museum of this size and abundance of exhibits. I’m giving 4 stars just because the air conditioning was off in the middle of July and the staff had to open the front entrance and rear door to cool down the visitors. Also some of the solar system sections didn’t have lighting. Overall as a Dino nerd I would recommend anyone to visit this museum!
Aldin R — Google review
Fascinating museum with a huge variety of exhibits - from giant dinosaurs to mammals and even displays about the human brain! Everything is well presented and easy to explore, with plenty of information and fun details. Great for both adults and kids, you can easily spend the whole day in here without getting bored. You can have a discount with Frankfurt card 🙌

Was wanting to go to the other museums, but they were closed for renovations. Went here. LOTS of kids screaming everywhere. The bird exhibit is worth seeing. I appreciated the labeling if something was an original or casting. Also appreciated the dual language tags.

We recently visited the Senckenberg Nature Museum and our entire family loved it! It was a beautiful and captivating experience from start to finish. The collection of dinosaur skeletons is truly awe-inspiring and the exhibits are so well-presented. A particular highlight was the taxidermy section on the upper floor. The journey from an incredible variety of birds to the massive big game animals was breathtaking. We were even amazed by the intricate displays featuring all kinds of insects, all preserved with stunning detail. Our kids were completely engaged, fascinated by the massive T-Rex, the diverse wildlife displays, and the incredible variety of fossils. It's the perfect place to spark a child's curiosity about the natural world. The museum is spacious, clean, and easy to navigate. We highly recommend it to any family visiting Frankfurt. It's more than just a museum visit; it's an unforgettable adventure that is both educational and incredibly fun. We can't wait to return!

Well worth the €12 adult entry, even as an English speaker who couldn't understand all the text. The displays are beautiful- they have a wonderful selection of fossils, minerals and other items, which are all beautifully curated. The layout is very cool, and the building itself is geometric and adds to the sense of wonder and exploration. Would highly recommend. I believe we spent 4 hours here and could have spent another 1-2hrs there - only left due to time restraints on our part. A small gift shop.

Rate it as 9/10. As adults we easily spent 2 hours. All spectrum of animals, birds, fish, insects and more. I was quite sceptical before, but after visiting I can highly recommend it.

The Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt is a modern and contemporary art gallery housed in a striking, angular building. It is renowned for hosting major temporary exhibitions featuring works from various periods. The gallery collaborates with esteemed institutions like the Tate Gallery and the Guggenheim Museum, showcasing diverse artists such as Munch, Giacometti, Frida Kahlo, and Marc Chagall.
Was lucky to visit the retrospective of Hans Haacke there during its last week. The overall impression is very good: detailed and non-obvious curatorial texts and extremely friendly and nice staff. Would be coming back when I’m in Frankfurt.

After you find the entry (not very intuitive), you‘ll see a notice about a temporary closure. When you go to the new place (13 min by subway) they tell you that they don’t have an tickets yet — or an exposition (but that you can look at the building).

Must be place! Surprising and unusual items invite thoughtful evaluation and discussion. It's worth visiting this place regularly, as the exhibition changes periodically.

Great modern art museum with changing exhibitions. I enjoyed the current exhibition of Carol Rama (1918-2015), a pioneering Italian woman artist who only got recognized late in life. Rama definitely had a her own style although her triptych reminded me of Francis Bacon (1909-1992). Her artworks included both figurative and abstract works. The artist lived her entire life in Turin.

Loved the idea behind this particular gallery based on unorthodox musical instruments. But I give 4 not 5 because it should be more clear to the public that to really enjoy the soul of the musical instruments mixed into your living space you had to be there for certain times of the day on certain times of the week. I saw a guitar made completely from parts of guns... Very cool

One of your top choices for art in Frankfurt, with a great garden for a coffee after your visit. We decided to walk to the Liebighaus starting from the old city center and it was worth it: nice houses and historic buildings on our way along the river. We were impressed by the range of the sculpture collection which never became too “chatty”: we never got overwhelmed by the quantity of the sculptures in each section, which added to enjoying our time there/ not being stressed to quickly move on to the next section. The lighting of the sculptures added to the experience, giving a warmth to the artwork. Definitely recommended

Peaceful and quiet museum. Don’t find much oversea visitor, mostly parents with kids. This is a good place to teach sculpture appreciation to children. The season we visit is just blooming. Can find different sizes of daffodils in the garden. Many beautiful sculptures displayed in this museum can spend at least half day there. Also few more museums along the river band. Staffs are super friendly and helpful.

Definitely one of the nicest parks in Frankfurt! Being a blanket and some friends, walk your dog, join a sports group, go for a run, hang out with other parents by the playground :) Gets a bit loud and wild on the weekends, and it helps to like humans as the nearby university brings quite a few of them :) there’s also a fenced in dog area and some nice quiet corners to find. If you dare, come during sundowns around summer solstice where the fireflies migrate here from the neighboring botanical garden to work their magic on you ;)

Historical landmark
The Iron Footbridge, also known as Eiserner Steg, is a historic landmark in Frankfurt that offers stunning city views and is adorned with padlocks left by romantic couples. This wrought iron bridge was originally designed by Peter Schmick and constructed in 1868, connecting the Romerberg at Sachsenhausen neighborhood. Despite undergoing reconstructions over the years, it has maintained its original design.
This bridge is really cool, it is covered in love locks. It is pretty insane how some of these locks are all connected in ways I didn’t even think was possible. The bridge also offers beautiful views of the skyline and is pedestrian only. I recommend!

A perfect stop for travelers exploring Frankfurt! The Iron Footbridge (Eiserner Steg) is more than just a crossing — it’s a scenic spot where history, romance, and skyline views come together beautifully. I visited around sunset, and the reflection of the skyscrapers on the Main River was breathtaking. It’s a short walk from Römerberg, so it fits easily into any walking route around the old town. You’ll find plenty of people here — locals jogging, tourists taking photos, and couples leaving love locks on the railings. It’s one of those rare places that feels peaceful even when it’s busy. Tip: Visit early in the morning or near sunset for the best photos and fewer crowds. Bring a coffee, enjoy the fresh breeze, and take in the view — it’s a fantastic spot to feel the vibe of Frankfurt!
Ravindra G — Google review

Magnificent place with excellent views. I came to know about this bridge by my favourite movie Bommarillu (Telugu/India). Got rain while I was on the bridge, but didn't affect much. There are some surrounding places good for memory.
Kini P — Google review
The iron bridge is a great sight. From the entrance to the other end, it is only a matter of a few minutes, but you will have covered an old iron bridge traversed billions of times. The bridge is a large one with wide steps leading to the entrance. Though it is a footbridge, it is wide enough for several people to walk side by side. It is also very good for photographs. It has become a landmark in Frankfurt. When we visited it, there were several other visitors proving that it is a popular tourist destination. Lovers used to leave locked padlocks on the bridge. Now there are tens of thousands of such locks on the bridge.
Dr G — Google review
Stunning Views, Historic Charm – A Must-Visit Landmark in Frankfurt! The Iron Footbridge (Eiserner Steg) is not just a pedestrian bridge — it's a panoramic balcony to one of Germany’s most vibrant and modern cities, steeped in history, culture, and breathtaking riverfront views. Whether you're a traveler, photographer, or simply out for a walk, this spot is absolutely unforgettable. As you step onto the bridge, the city opens up before you in a perfect postcard scene. On one side, you see the striking skyline of Frankfurt — a rare fusion of historic architecture and glass-covered skyscrapers that make this city so uniquely beautiful. On the other side, the peaceful charm of Sachsenhausen invites you with its traditional German taverns, cobblestone streets, and warm ambiance. The Main River flows gracefully beneath, offering mesmerizing reflections of the buildings and the bridge itself. At sunset, the sky turns golden-orange and paints the water in magical hues — it’s an experience that stops you in your tracks. Whether it’s day or night, sunny or misty, the atmosphere here is incredibly serene. The bridge is also known for its "love locks", where couples from around the world have left behind tokens of love and memories. It adds a layer of intimacy and charm that makes it feel like more than just a place — it’s a symbol of connection, both physically and emotionally. Tip: It’s one of the best photo spots in Frankfurt — you can capture the river, the skyline, and the famous Frankfurt Cathedral (Kaiserdom) all in one frame. If you’re lucky, you’ll catch live musicians or street performers adding to the mood. Easy to reach, open 24/7, and completely free — the Iron Footbridge is the perfect spot for a romantic stroll, a moment of reflection, or simply enjoying Frankfurt’s dynamic blend of old and new. Highly recommended — a peaceful escape right in the heart of a busy city. Don’t miss it!

Museum MMK für Moderne Kunst, located in the heart of Frankfurt, is home to a remarkable collection of over 4,500 international works dating from the 1960s to the present day. The museum boasts pieces from legendary German collectors and regularly showcases emerging contemporary artists. One notable exhibition delved into the work of photographer Claudia Andujar, known for her profound exploration of the Yanomami culture in Brazil.
Phenomenal modern art museum designed by Hans Hollein (1934-2014). The building itself is always worth a visit with many fascinating views and angles. The exhibitions are always interesting as well. The current exhibition "There is No There There" does not disappoint either. It focuses on artists from foreign countries working in West and East Germany prior to unification.
Nils P — Google review
Really disappointing. The art pieces are boring and intellectually lazy. There were more security guards than visitors. The building is nice and its architecture is interesting though, that's why this museum gets two stars instead of one. If you like art, I'd rather recommend the Städel Museum which is much more interesting.
Georges B — Google review
Interesting collection of Kunst work. Clean modern gallery which wasn’t too busy. Audio tour comes as part of your 15 euro day ticket. Free lockers for bags and coats. Great cafe too!
Caroline B — Google review
Just learned free admission to the museum on the last Saturday of every month, I went for a quick visit. Currently, works of Rosemarie Trockel are exhibiting till 18 June 2023. I am just a layman who do not know too much about classic or modern arts but still found some amazing pieces of art. For example, there are 2 creations made with electric cooking hotplates that are on and you can feel the heat from them. Amazing, isn't it? What more, I love the internal architecture of the museum with long stairways and spacious exhibition rooms very impressive and pleasing. In fact, the paints on the walls are art works.
Michael C — Google review
Loved the Trockel show. Building is a typical monstrosity privileging the design over showing art but what’s new… what is new is the nasty oppressive staff. You feel hunted by the security guards they must be trained to be angry and make sure there’s no joy in the air. Sad… guess it’s their thing. Great show however!!!
J. C — Google review
The architecture is somehow more interesting than the Exposition. I have been particularly captured by the contrast between huge white rooms and very tiny painting, forcing a sort of interaction with the art itself. Again, the building offers many occasions for looking around, from different perspectives, levels, from down, from up, from light to dark and vice versa. So, nice place to go to PS. The floor that looks "soft" is wonderful... :)
Laura P — Google review
One of the great modern art museums. The showing of Candy Nolan was particularly powerful - barriers erected in massive spaces let both the artwork & building speak deeply, and gave space to ponder. The staff were helpful and courteous. The central stairway is truly amazing and itself a work of art! The new cafe is excellent.

Airport
Frankfurt Airport is a major international airport with convenient transportation options, including two stations for regional and long-distance trains as well as city shuttles. Located in the Rhine-Main region on the banks of the River Main, it serves as an important gateway to the vibrant city of Frankfurt am Main in Germany.
Frankfurt Airport is one of the best airports I’ve traveled through. It’s extremely clean, well-maintained, and efficiently run, which makes for a smooth travel experience even during busy times. The layout is modern and easy to navigate, with plenty of clear signage in both German and English. One thing that really stood out to me was the food – there’s a wide variety of restaurants, cafes, and grab-and-go spots that go far beyond the typical airport fare. Whether you want a quick snack, traditional German dishes, or international cuisine, you’ll find plenty of good options. Security and customs were organized and moved at a steady pace, which I appreciated. There are also lots of comfortable seating areas, duty-free shops, and lounges that make long layovers much more enjoyable. Overall, Frankfurt Airport feels efficient, clean, and welcoming – a place where travel doesn’t feel like a hassle, but part of the experience.
Ryan W — Google review
Frankfurt Airport is one of Europe’s busiest hubs, and my recent experience there was overall very smooth. The security check was seamless, with plenty of personnel on hand to guide passengers on what items to remove, which made the process fast and stress-free. The check-in counters open only two hours before departure, which can be a bit inconvenient for early arrivals, but once open, everything runs efficiently. Inside, the airport is well equipped: Ample seating areas for waiting comfortably. Gaming stations for kids, which is a nice touch for families. A wide variety of duty-free shops offering everything from souvenirs to luxury goods. Interestingly, I found chocolates quite pricey, but perfumes and LEGO toys cheaper compared to Helsinki Airport, as well as many German and French stores. A decent selection of restaurants and cafés, catering to different tastes. The only drawback I noticed was the very limited number of water refilling points—I came across only one. For such a large airport with excellent other facilities, this was surprising and could definitely be improved.

The Ultimate Wide-Body Spotting Location! If your passion is catching the biggest aircraft in the sky—the Boeing 747s, Airbus A380s, A350s, and all the heavy wide-bodies—Frankfurt Airport (FRA) is an absolute must-visit. This is a five-star location purely for the sheer volume and variety of "big boys" passing through as the hub for Lufthansa and a major global cargo gateway. Best Spot for Arrivals (The Money Shot): Search for the "Autobahn Viewing Area" or "Luftbrückendenkmal" (Berlin Airlift Monument). This elevated spot near Zeppelinheim puts you directly under the flight path for approaches to the 25L/C runways. You get spectacular, frame-filling views of aircraft on short final. Bring a mid-range zoom (70-200mm) for incredible photos. Parking can be a short walk, but the reward is worth it. Best Spot for Takeoffs (Pure Power): Head to the "Runway 18 Viewing Platform" (also sometimes called "Take-off Site West"). This platform is specifically designed to get you over the fence for clear shots of heavy jets spooling up and thundering down the departure-only runway. The sight and sound of a fully loaded 747 or A340 rotating right in front of you is a legendary experience. Pro-Tip: Check the day's active runways online before you go to pick the perfect spot! This is an essential stop for any serious aviation enthusiast.

One of the best airports I've been to! Everything is super convenient. Every area is clean and well maintained. The security is very fast. And what blew my mind was the super fast luggage self check in - took me 30 seconds to drop my luggage without waiting on long queues. I really enjoyed my experience there.

Frankfurt Airport is very large and busy, yet the lines move quickly thanks to the professionalism of the police and staff. The airport’s size means you should plan your transfer flights carefully.I think at least 2 hours and 45 minutes is enough time for a comfortable connection. Prices inside are generally high, but the facilities are clean, and the food and drinks are of good quality.
Omer Y — Google review
Frankfurt Airport (FRA) is undeniably Germany's primary international gateway and largest airport. While Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) serves the capital region and is a major hub, Frankfurt actually handles the most passenger traffic and operates as the main hub for Lufthansa and global alliances. For anyone connecting internationally or traveling to other parts of Europe, Frankfurt's size and efficiency make it the crucial transportation center in the German country.
Arunbhaarat — Google review
Very unfriendly and unhelpful people there at security check. The only nice guys were two policemen who had nothing to do with the airport. No business lounge in Schengen area not the easiest to navigate not all the scenners updated so they will take away your liquids unless you walk bit further

Frankfurt Airport is large, modern, and comfortable with a pleasant atmosphere. The restaurants are good and fairly priced, though there could be more variety for Asian travelers. Information services are a bit basic but still helpful. Overall, it’s a well-structured and convenient airport.

Museum
MOMEM - Museum Of Modern Electronic Music in Frankfurt is a vibrant tribute to the city's electronic music legacy. The museum offers an immersive journey through the evolution of electronic beats, featuring interactive exhibits that are bound to get visitors grooving and perhaps even discovering their inner DJ. While it may be a small space with rotating exhibits, it showcases diverse elements such as Sven Vath's tracks and displays of keyboards and synthesizers.
At MOMEM, the vernissage felt less like an exhibition and far more like a portal — a quiet reopening of a chapter that shaped an entire cultural DNA. Omen wasn’t just a club. It was a sound laboratory where raw energy became an identity, and identity turned into an entire movement. A place where techno didn’t just play — it awakened something. Walking through the vernissage, I could feel how strongly this era still pulses within the people who lived it back then. What came through wasn’t some softened nostalgia, but something completely unfiltered. A shiver in the body, a glow in the eyes when memories rise from the deepest layers. Stories that never faded because they were never truly closed. They kept echoing — and they still do today. Between projections, archive photos, vinyl covers and the voices of the people who have carried this time within them for decades, a very particular atmosphere emerged. A warmth — almost a frequency — shared without a single word. You could practically hear the wildness and the fearlessness that shaped those nights in the past. You felt immediately how deeply the we, the sense of belonging, and the creative rebellion are still rooted in every glance, every smile, every subtle nod. To me, it felt as if the subculture itself — pure and uncompromisingly beautiful — stepped back into the room for a moment to remind us where today’s movement truly began. Techno culture was never meant to be perfect. It was an impulse — a collective heartbeat of people daring to go different ways, to think bigger, to break boundaries. And that exact vibe resonated throughout the evening: “We were there. We built this. And it still lives in us.” I’m deeply grateful to have been part of this night. grateful that my camera could capture traces of a legacy that cannot be erased. Moments where past, feeling, and present come together in a single space and frame.

Electronic music is a very special and unique topic to a museum. I do admire this innovative and strong techno feel venue in the city centre. You can listen to different strong dance music and the introduction of musicians in the world. Besides, there are also exhibits of keyboards and synthesizers. Nevertheless, the owner can enrich the content and exhibits of this museum to increase the attractiveness and education value
Fat C — Google review
Worth a visit if you are into electronic music or want to understand how electronic music is produced. There is even a room with educational tutorials on how to use different synthesizers and drum pads (only in German language though). There are many stations where you can put on headphones and listen to influential electronic music, however, the space has loud music playing in the background, so it is kind of hard to enjoy both of these experiences at once. The core displays of the museum are in German and English. I like the incorporation of peng graffiti (iconic around Frankfurt). Note that the museum entrance is sort of below the main entrance of Hauptwache.
Lauren — Google review
There a lot of negative comments on this place, many of which I think are unfair. If you don’t like electronic dance music, don’t go to this museum. Think of it like this- if you don’t like portait art and go to a portait gallery and complain about it having art, you probably shouldn’t have gone. This is about the history and experience of electronic music. When you walk in here you get a whole heap of headphones and get to listen to electronic music from the last 40 years. It helps you recall, reflect, and you can’t help but groove on the spot. I learned a lot and it was fun. Not a place for kids, they just won’t understand the music or point. I recommend this place wholeheartedly for the EDM music lovers amongst us.
Shaun G — Google review
Pleasant experience, very friendly staff. It's a museum born for electronic music lovers. Quite complex as information, with a lot of details displayed. You can listen to different tracks on headphones and even vote for the one you liked best.

Outside the DB station. A must stop in Romerberg/ Frankfurt! And English speaking. Engineers in the back for lessons. Full global history of House, Techno and EDM. Equipment from every generation is on display. Amazing Experience! Tickets €13 euro
Taylor C — Google review
Must to visit place for those who loves music. This museum actually looks more like a club. There are many cool events and on Friday evenings you have a chance to listen to great DJs and dance there. In the museum you have possibilities not only to listen to cool songs, but also try to compose melodies yourself. Highly recommend to visit for everyone.
Igor V — Google review
I felt obligated to go as an avid electronic music enthusiast, but overall was left quite disappointed. 12€ is really overpriced for what you experience. It’s really just a collection of Sven Väth’s old vinyl archives from the 80s onwards, which is fascinating if you’re a massive Sven Väth fan, and of course huge respect to him for what he’s done for the techno community globally, but this exhibit was really more about Sven’s career than “modern electronic music”. I think the “Sven Väth Electronic Music Exhibit” would have been a more appropriate title. Inside the exhibit, you have a room where panels take place on Thursdays, an area to view his vinyl collection, some digital screens showing photos of his life and gigs over time, and headphones dangling which play some of his selected tracks on repeat. There are also VR goggles showing some interview clips and music videos of his productions. You can really watch all of these interviews on YouTube and stream the music on Spotify. I could easily post up a photo of the list of songs that you’ll hear in these headphones, but out of respect for those who invested into making this exhibit possible, I don’t think it would be fair to do so. After reading the reviews, I came in with minimal expectations and I wanted the reviews to be wrong, but unfortunately, the sentiments of most of these reviews is correct. Some reviews complained about the equipment not working, but all of that has been fixed. I had no problems with the equipment. Still, I definitely do not think 12€ is worth it. A maximum of 5€ for entrance is what’s reasonable IMO. It took me about 30-45 minutes to go through the exhibition. Again, much love and respect to Sven Väth and the legends of our scene, but I think some more thought and value offered will have to go into this to make it worth anywhere near 12€. Sadly, I would not recommend this until more improvements have been made or a price adjustment is done. That said, the place does have a cool vibe and the staff were friendly. There are also lockers to store your belongings, including larger backpacks. Hope the curators of this exhibit will benefit from this honest review, so that others can derive more value from it in the future. All my best!

We loved our visit to frankfurt's Christmas market:) The atmosphere was very festive and lovely, so nicely decorated and you can definitely feel the holiday coming (night time is of course the best time to visit, but dont miss out daytime as well). It was just so much fun wandering around, enjoying yummy foods (there are pretzels covered with diffferent chocolates crepes, sausages, waffles, hot potatoe latkes and much more) and having hot gluhwien (as it was so cold outside). It is quite lengthy in size as well which was very nice - stretches over a few streets.

Having been to German christmas markets in UK, I must admit that nothing comes close to the real thing. The food, drinks, ornaments and above all the atmosphere is uncomparable and this is a must do activity for anyone in the area during December.

I'd usually consider Frankfurt a rather dull place, having been there several times. But the Christmas market turned it into a whole new place, and I was just impressed at the size of the market, stretching from the shopping street to the old town.

Adolf Wagner is a charming tavern that captures the essence of traditional German dining. With its inviting sidewalk tables, it offers a delightful selection of hearty German dishes complemented by local wines, beers, and ciders. This cozy spot is perfect for those looking to immerse themselves in the local culture while enjoying authentic flavors.
Great atmosphere and authentic vibe. The food was outstanding. The schnitzel with Grüne Soße really showcases Frankfurt’s cuisine, and the pork knuckle was absolutely delicious. The wine paired perfectly with the meal. Service could be more polite — not sure if it was the language barrier or just the attitude, but communication wasn’t easy

The place is located at reachable distance from Frankfurt South station. We went for the first time to taste the famous Green Sauce served with boiled egg and baked potatoes. There is plenty of space to sit either roadside, insite courtyard and inside building spaces. They also serve one of their kind Apple wine which is also worth trying.

Delicious traditional food and amazing apple wine! The prices are very reasonable for the quality. Cozy atmosphere with that classic Frankfurt charm. Definitely worth a visit if you want an authentic local experience.
Freya N — Google review
Visited Adolf Wagner, also known as Apfelwein Wagner – Traditionslokal seit 1931, and it took us a moment to realise both names referred to the same place! Once we figured it out, we were glad we went — the experience was great from start to finish. We ordered the Ribs and Sauerkraut, and when it arrived, the “pork chop ribs” turned out to be exactly what we were expecting. It absolutely did not disappoint — incredibly soft, full of flavour, and complemented perfectly by the sauerkraut. We also tried some of the classic Frankfurt dishes, which were just as enjoyable. I also really liked the apple wine here compared to other places — it wasn’t too sour or vinegary. Instead, it was smooth, balanced, and genuinely easy to drink. Service was excellent, too. From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted immediately and shown straight to a table despite the busy atmosphere. A wonderful traditional spot with delicious food, great apple wine, and warm service — definitely worth a visit!
Michelle H — Google review
Run Run Run!!! Extremely disappointing experience at Adolf Wagner — and I rarely leave negative reviews. I came here expecting traditional German food and local atmosphere, but left completely frustrated. The chop steak and pork knuckle were absolutely inedible. Both were over-salted to an unbearable degree, especially the pork knuckle — it tasted like pure brine. The food quality was shockingly poor and lacked any real flavor. Even worse was the rude and pushy service. The staff forced customers to sit together at shared tables, even though there were plenty of empty seats. There was zero regard for guest comfort or personal space. To top it off, when paying, I was pressured into leaving a tip, despite the horrible experience. Tipping is voluntary, and frankly, the service did not deserve a cent. Adolf Wagner may be famous among tourists, but it’s nothing more than a salty trap with bad food and worse hospitality. There are many better, more respectful places to experience Frankfurt cuisine. Avoid this restaurant at all costs.

Nice way to get a quick view from Frankfurt, at a very nice price €8, plus they give you a drink and some snacks (Pretzels). The only thing …. you have to wait sometimes more than 30 min because of the waiting line because of the demand of the people who wanted to get into the cabins, and you could be rejected because there are not enough seats inside. Among that, highly recommended. I would take it again.

Waited a bit longer than scheduled, but there was a festival on so that’s understandable. Once on board it was pleasant and the apple wine/cider was delicious. Reasonably priced and a good way to see a bit of the city.

1/5 – Extremely disappointing and unfair experience We were deeply disappointed. On April 26th, we waited through two full rides, but still didn’t manage to get on. The conductor seemed to choose who to let on arbitrarily. When we asked if there was space for three people, he refused us — but just moments later, a group of six people asked and he let them on without hesitation. The attitude was rude and unprofessional. We left feeling extremely frustrated and hurt. This experience ruined what should have been a joyful moment in Frankfurt.

It was good, but it could be great. No air-conditioning on the tram, which is probably not normally a problem, but it was a very warm day when I did this, and was somewhat uncomfortable onboard. Need a lot more interaction by the conductors with the guests. Our conductor seemed very work-adverse. The commentary was hard to understand (but I am old, so that may be my problem alone).

I watched a performance of Sweeny Todd. Outstanding performances from the whole cast and crew. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole show. The theatre itself is easily located and spotted from the street. The interior layout goes to the basement of the building with a bar on each of the two subfloor level to accommodate the balcony and general audiences. A dedicated coat check line leaving the theatre would have eased some confusion from the guests wondering why the line wasn't moving up the stairs. Otherwise the theatre was excellent and I would love to return for another show.

Not very big, but rather charming and interesting theatre. The person doing the selection knows his job. The pieces played here are top notch. You won't make a mistake coming here at least once a month. Highly recommended!

Great theatre though the choice of productions in the last few years has been hit and miss in my humble opinion. Sister Act like which is on currently is great, despite an uninspiring set. Less good is the bar management - chaotic /disorganised- queue for interval drinks blocking way for people wanting to get to bar (and toilet). Would be easy to solve and make the pre-show experience less stressful (and more profitable for the theatre).
BJ V — Google review
Sehr schönes Theater. Gute Auswahl an Stücken. Tolle Bar mit einer guten Gin Auswahl. Nice theatre with regularly changing good and interesting plays. Especially the musicals are my favorites. The cast changes with the plays and were always really good. The bar is nice and has a good selection of gin and an ever changing cocktail list aligned to the plays. It's a must visit if you are in town.

The English Theatre has quite a unique approach, and it really works (imagine, in contrast, if there were "The Spanish Theater" in the USA and how that might work with natively English speaking, non-Hispanic Americans). We saw an excellent production of "Jekyll and Hyde," with actors who were either native English speakers or who otherwise spoke flawless English with a light British accent. Tickets were relatively easy to purchase online, but we did need to have access to a printer (no app or web based option to display the bar code on a movie phone). The theatre has a trendy looking, club like bar area with many drinks, including the local Frankfurt favorite, apple wine (apfelwein). But check the sheets on the walls of the bar, as they also offered 3 mixed drinks that were comically named to suit the musical. Staging was beautifully planned while mechanically simple, with multiple levels and side paths that kept actors (some of whom doubled as background singers and musicians) in view much of the time as they visible moved behind the scenes, on the stairs, or along the balcony. Overall, heartfelt acting and singing from a dedicated cast, and a wonderful evening in downtown Frankfurt (and just minutes away from the main train station and many restaurants).

It is an experiential interactive museum where you are guided by a blind guide in the dark through various room scenarios, where you try and decipher the environment around you and navigate it. You will be given a cane as well to try and use. It was a unique eye opening experience that turned the tables on us sighted people, and gives you a rare empathetic look into what it is like to be blind. The tour is about an hour long and there is an opportunity to have a drink and/or food in the blind bar at the end. Reserve in advance and if you do not speak German, make sure you contact them first to see if they have a tour in English available. Tina was our guide and she was outstanding. TIP: It is located underground in the subway entrance area.

Tourist or not, you HAVE to at least experience this! Hidden away under the stairs to the underground this hidden treat is what you need. It's a 60 minute experience of being blind, taking place in pitch black rooms that simulate various different areas of life, from cinema, outdoors, taking a tram, to others. Feel what it's like to be blind and it's an amazing and also thought provoking museum. They do English and German tours. If you are wanting an English Tour, email them directly and they'll be able to advise. I literally emailed the day before and by 9am I had a tour booked with two others. Definitely worth it and you will look at the world in a slightly different way

We had an amazing experience. We were in a small mixed group with people we didn’t know, everyone was friendly from staff, participant to our tour guide. I went with a 7year old, who is turning 8 soon and a 9year old, who will be 10 soon. My 7 y was scared at times and was holding my hand most of the time but was curious and enjoyed it at the same time. My 9year old loved it and 1hour wasn’t enough. A big thanks to our guide Benji who was kind and had lots of patience with my children. I can definitely recommend this expericene maybe from 9/10years and above. It gave us a glimpse of how challenging everyday Situation can be if we weren‘t able to see and had to depend only on our touch, listening and smell.

Absolutely brilliant experience, it really makes you understand just how much the world isn't designed for the visually impaired. Staff was wonderful and super friendly, our guide Elisa was excellent on our English tour. Highest recommendations, a must-see attraction in Frankfurt

Super experience, friendly guides. Make sure you are at least 15 minutes before the tour starts at the location, to make sure you have enought time to ""check-in". Tour takes about an hour. Definitely recommend.
Sonesta Q — Google review
Good tour, it really opened my eyes about the world of blind people. I was able to book a same day tour when emailing them in the morning.
Jke — Google review
Went to this musuem. Its all about what the world is to a blind person. The entire exhibition is lead by actual blind people and I listen to their stories it was quite nice. You will go through multiple day to day things as a blind person. The entrance is located underground. It's cheap 16 euros for adults. Also they do English tours but since no other English speakers were there they did a solo tour just for me. But this should not be the norm. So its better to bring more people.
Jockpantz — Google review
Wow! We made a last minute decision to come here. Please book in advance if you require an English speaking guide. At first they couldn’t fit us in but we managed a last minute booking and it was amazing. Our guide had a very soothing and calm voice that really elevated the experience. I was quite anxious to start off with but soon calmed down after a little while. Not an experience to miss! Please remember to bring cash with you as you will need €1 for the locker and some cash for the bar

Klassikstadt, situated in a former clinker brick factory in the northeast of Frankfurt, is a haven for classic car enthusiasts. The facility serves as a restoration center for privately owned prestigious cars and features an impressive lineup of vintage Porches, BMWs, Jaguars, Mercedes, and more displayed in glass cases to regulate humidity. Visitors can immerse themselves in automobile culture and witness restoration work and engine construction through glass workshops.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Klassikstadt in Frankfurt, and it was truly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had as a car enthusiast. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the charm and atmosphere of this incredible place. The beautifully restored industrial building immediately sets the tone for what’s inside: a breathtaking collection of classic and modern cars. Walking through the space felt like stepping into a dream, surrounded by iconic vehicles from legendary brands like Ferrari, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, and Aston Martin. What struck me most was how up close and personal you can get with the cars. Unlike a traditional museum, many of the vehicles are displayed in open garages, where you can even watch skilled technicians working on them. It was fascinating to see the restoration process in action and learn more about the care and dedication that goes into preserving these masterpieces. The staff and mechanics were incredibly friendly and passionate, happily answering my questions and sharing stories about the cars. This interactive element added a whole new dimension to the experience and made it feel so much more engaging. During my visit, there happened to be a classic car meet-up, which made the day even more special. Dozens of vintage cars were lined up outside, and their owners were eager to talk about their vehicles and share their experiences. The sense of community at Klassikstadt was amazing. Everyone there, from seasoned collectors to casual visitors, seemed united by a shared love for cars. It’s not just a place to admire vehicles; it’s a hub where automotive culture truly comes alive. After spending hours exploring, I stopped at one of the on-site cafes for a quick bite, and I was impressed by the quality of the food and the relaxed atmosphere. The entire facility is designed to make visitors feel comfortable and welcome. I also noticed that Klassikstadt has event spaces available, and I couldn’t help but think how perfect it would be for a corporate event or private party. The combination of stunning cars and elegant surroundings creates a truly unforgettable setting. Klassikstadt isn’t just for car enthusiasts—it’s a fantastic destination for families and groups as well. Kids will be amazed by the shiny, colorful cars, while adults can appreciate the rich history and craftsmanship behind them. The variety of exhibits and activities ensures there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Getting to Klassikstadt was also incredibly easy. It’s just a short drive from Frankfurt’s city center, and there’s plenty of parking available. For those using public transportation, the location is well-connected, so it’s convenient no matter how you choose to travel. Overall, my visit to Klassikstadt was an unforgettable experience. It’s more than just a collection of cars—it’s a celebration of automotive history, culture, and community. Whether you’re a lifelong car enthusiast or simply looking for a unique and exciting way to spend a day, Klassikstadt is absolutely worth a visit. I’m already looking forward to returning in the future, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Frankfurt. Trust me, you won’t regret it!

Just visited Klassikstadt and it was fantastic! The collection of retro cars is amazing, especially for fans of Porsche, Ferrari, and Aston Martin etc. The place wasn’t crowded, which made it easy to take my time and admire each vehicle. If you’re a classic car enthusiast, this place is a must-see!
Yuliia Y — Google review
It was a bit out of the way, but totally worth it. Four floors packed with amazing classic cars, plus I got lucky and caught the season opening — owners pulling up in their own beauties. Great atmosphere, incredible cars, and an unforgettable experience. Absolutely loved it.

This place was awesome! The variety of classic cars was incredible. It was so much fun and really interesting to see. Definitely worth a visit for any car enthusiast.
Melissa A — Google review
Klassikstadt is a genuinely fascinating spot for car enthusiasts, and my visit left me with mixed but mostly positive impressions. The first thing that struck me was how quiet the place was—almost surprisingly so, given the number of vehicles and displays inside. This calm atmosphere actually made it easier to take everything in without crowds or noise getting in the way. There are a lot of different types of cars to see, ranging from beautifully restored classics to rare models you don’t often encounter. I was especially impressed by the selection of Lancias, Alfa Romeos, Mercedes-Benzes, and BMWs on display. Whether you’re into Italian flair or German engineering, there’s something that will grab your attention. One of the highlights is the very large model shop located inside the building. It’s packed with scale models, memorabilia, and collectibles, and could easily be a paradise for hobbyists. Unfortunately, the man behind the counter was quite rude, which took away from what could have been a really enjoyable experience in that section. The venue itself is cool and visually interesting, with an industrial vibe that suits the theme perfectly. That said, the entire visit is fairly short; if you’re taking your time, you’ll likely be finished in 30 minutes or less. Still, if you have spare time while in Frankfurt, Klassikstadt is definitely worth a quick visit—especially if you appreciate cars, craftsmanship, or unique spaces. It's a brief stop, but a memorable one.

We went to see old classic cars, and that was what we saw. Some were dusty, which was pretty cool in itself. There is even a gift shop. Cool. Morgen Plus 4 photo attached.

German restaurant
Apfelwein Dax is a traditional Hessian restaurant in Frankfurt that offers a genuine pub-like atmosphere and serves robust local dishes such as schnitzel, steak, and herby green sauce. The establishment embodies the authentic Frankfurt experience with its cozy wood booths and helpful Vokabeltrainer for tourists. Known for its cash-only policy, Apfelwein Dax provides excellent food, service, and a refreshing apple wine that's perfect for quenching your thirst.
Excellent spot to try Frankfurt specialties. We got there right on midday, so our waiter had more time to explain menu items without too many other customers around. We tried the local cheese, green sauce and apfelwein (not all together - across a few courses). Lovely traditional restaurant and we were made to feel welcome.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Authentic Frankfurt Fare with Excellent Schnitzel and Apfelwein Apfelwein Dax is a fantastic choice if you’re after traditional Hessian food with friendly, attentive service. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming—perfect for both locals and visitors looking to enjoy regional cuisine. The house apple wine was refreshing—dry, slightly tart, and very drinkable. A great match for the rich, savory dishes they serve. We had the Wiener Schnitzel (veal), and it was outstanding. Lightly breaded, pan-fried to golden perfection, and tender inside—exactly how a proper schnitzel should be. We also enjoyed the white asparagus, which was in season and served simply with melted butter—a classic, elegant pairing that let the quality of the asparagus shine through. Service was efficient and warm throughout, with staff happy to assist and check in without hovering. If you’re in Frankfurt and want a taste of local tradition done right, Apfelwein Dax is well worth a visit.

Wonderful atmosphere. Traditional style german food. This a cash only establishment so ensure to have 20 to 40 euros per person.

If I could award more stars, I would. Stellar food and the best apfelwein I tried in Frankfurt. The staff was friendly and accommodating even though we stumbled upon the place and had no reservations. The ambiance is top-notch. We enjoyed ourselves but tried to be respectful of locals in their neighborhood joint. Do yourself a favor and get the green sauce — with eggs is most traditional. Will be thinking about this experience for a while.

Very local and great restaurant if you want to try some real German food with simple and old-school atmosphere. Schnitzel and mushroom soup was amazing, apfelwein tasted very strong and pure, reasonable prices too so definitely recommend if you looking for simple meals. Quiet place, a bit older crowd so nice to get away from all the city noise and busy restaurants.

We were at this restaurant last weekend. We were starving, and to our surprise, the portions were very generous! The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the bathroom was super clean! I recommend it.

Very very good and authentic Schnitzel with some great Apfelwein in one of the most authentic hessisch environment you can find. I recommend to order along with the green sauce.

Love this restaurant. The decor is very unique and interesting, very much a hub of Frankfurt Culture so would definitely recommend to tourists like myself. The food was very good, Apfelwein was cheap (€2.50) and also very good. My meal with 2 Apfelweins came to about €20. The waitress who served me was lovely, she spoke English but I wanted to practice my German, she was very patient and friendly and when I didn't understand she switched to English which I appreciated. It was very busy, I went on a Tuesday evening and it was packed. I didn't book beforehand, I had to share a table with some other people but I appreciated that they could fit me in even with it being so busy. Oh and the food came very quickly too! Would definitely recommend.

The Jewish Museum Frankfurt, located in the 19th-century Rothschild Palais with a modern extension, offers a compelling narrative of Jewish history. Opened in 1988 to commemorate Kristallnacht, it showcases over 900 years of Jewish life and culture in Frankfurt. The museum features exhibits on Anne Frank and houses a state-of-the-art research library. It provides an engaging and emotional perspective on Jewish life from the 1800s to the present day.
The Jewish Museum in Frankfurt has a cool modern wing, and part of it is in the old Rothschild family house. The building itself is pretty unique, though the layout is a bit funky—exhibits start at the top and go down, and the signs don’t really help you figure out the flow at first. But the exhibits themselves are pretty cool, with some creative touches like using transparency and RFID tags to interact with the displays. Even if you don’t speak German, it’s definitely worth checking out for the architecture and exhibits (plus most of the stuff is in both German and English). There’s also a cute café with Jewish-inspired food if you're hungry.
Milagros C — Google review
Highly recommend the Jewish Museum not just for the exhibits but for the delicious, flavourful and delectable vegan food. The photo is of the Chaime (with Tofu). It is spicy and yummy! Come here and check out the restaurant on level 1 Life Deli. Best food in Germany!

A must-visit to understand the many layers of Jewish history. You start on the third floor, focused on the Holocaust. The second floor explores Jewish traditions and rituals. The first floor shares stories of Jewish families, including Anne Frank’s. I left with much more knowledge and cultural understanding. Highly recommend if you want to learn more about the topic and truly understand why fighting antisemitism matters.
Lara R — Google review
Just came back from a great half day at the museum. Quite modern and clean look. Lots to read up on, can spend hours and hours here. Lots of security and a police vehicle outside, but the museum was fairly quiet and peaceful. Very wide collection and incredibly informative on not only Jewish history of Frankfurt (which is far more expansive than I ever thought, with the Rothschild’s and Franks) but also general Jewish customs. Cool interactive features too. Loved my time here and if I am ever unfortunate enough to end up in Frankfurt again, I know one nice and interesting place one could spend some time.

Very good idea to have a Juish museum in Frankfurt. There are things that could be better in terms of organization and display . The film in the pictures couldn’t be seen so some table displays that couldn’t be seen because of the reflections. Every thing can be changed to make it better.

I recently visited the Jewish Museum in Frankfurt and had a wonderful experience. The staff were extremely kind and welcoming, making the visit even more enjoyable. The museum itself is spread across three floors, with the top and middle floors being my personal favorites. There was a wealth of information on display about Jewish culture and history, including some personal family stories that were particularly touching. While the bottom floor didn't appeal to me as much, the overall museum was a great educational and cultural experience. I would highly recommend a visit to anyone interested in learning more about Jewish history and culture.
A. U — Google review
A trip to the museum can evoke a wide array of emotions in my opinion! My experience at the Jewish museum has been thoroughly incredible, the captivating architecture and calming atmosphere of the material used was astonishing. Quite contemporary setting and complex arrangement, yet interesting! Nonetheless, the presentation of the exhibits is informative as they use different methods to present informations. Interactive screen touch, sensory recordings and visual recordings and pictures.

What an amazing heritage site filled with treasured stories of Frankfurt Jewish life before and after the Holocaust. I highly recommend visiting this museum. The active audio display of reciting the names of the current hostages is moving and makes people of all creeds and ages, stop and remember the hostages and hope and pray for their swift return. The current room dedicated to Kibbutz Nir Oz is extremely impactful and moving!

Located in an 18th-century mansion, the Deutsches Architekturmuseum (DAM) is a captivating space that showcases architectural exhibitions and events. The museum, housed in a late-19th-century villa redesigned by architect Oswald Mathias Ungers, features five levels with a wealth of documents on the history of architecture.
Really nice exposition about the development of the old town from Frankfurt on the ground floor. On the second floor there is also a permanent exposition from different construction stilles around the world with several incredible miniatures

I am so happy that the iconic German Architecture Museum, designed by Oswald Mathias Ungers (1926-2007), has reopened after a long renovation. With the famous "Haus in Haus" it was perfectly in tune with the zeitgeist of Postmodernism when it opened in 1984. After more than 40 years, the time may be right for a reevaluation of Postmodernism which was the opening exhibition of the museum in 1984 ("Revision der Moderne, Postmoderne Architektur 1960-1980"), organized by the inaugural director of the museum Heinrich Klotz (1935-1999). Nice café in the lobby.

It is a museum on Frankfurt's museum street that I would especially recommend architects to visit. Is it because of the small size of the building, or the stuffing of all the areas, it seems a bit cramped to me. There is something interesting for curious architects.

Located in Frankfurt am Main, Museum of Applied Art (Museum Angewandte Kunst) is a part of the Museumsufer and offers a vast collection tracing European history through art and everyday objects. The museum's new building, designed by Richard Meier, provides an additional 5,000 sqm of exhibition space to the original premises in the adjacent historic Villa Metzler.
Richard Meier .... love his work! I didn't go in the museum, but walked around the exterior for quite some time. Ahhhh.
Csmmog — Google review
The exhibition visit was comfortable and enjoyable. I was able to see many medieval manuscripts, as well as exhibitions that highlighted the differences in artistic and philosophical perspectives between the East and the West. The typography exhibition felt like a permanent display, but since there were no explanations, it was difficult to understand. Photography was prohibited, which made searching for related materials a bit inconvenient. As for the Dieter Rams exhibition, I felt that both the explanations and the presentation were quite German—just as I expected. :)
Zeulja K — Google review
It was a travel through time, as the exhibition is deliberately not shown in the chronological order. Objects from the same theme in different time points in history are put right next to each other. Modern coffee cups next to ancient containers. Unlike Städel that takes several hours, this one can be finished in 1-1.5 hours. Staff are friendly.
Xueting L — Google review
A good exhibition Student discount available It was best to learn Richard Meier's architectural philosophy. When I visited on a weekday morning, there were few people, so it was quiet.

This is one of my favorite museums in Frankfurt. Great architecture by Richard Meier (born 1934) and a wonderful exhibit on Dieter Rams (born 1932), designer of Vitsoe and Braun products for many years. The collection of objects from the permanent collection is also great, including a rare original Frankfurt kitchen designed by Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky (1897-2000). The period rooms in the Metzler building are also fabulous. I also enjoyed the exhibitions on women in icon paintings and on Hamid Zenati (1944-2022) which paired his art with objects from the collection of the museum. I also love the Richard Meier reading room with furniture by Le Corbusier and Charlotte Perriand, among others. And the current exhibition on the 100th anniversary of the New Frankfurt is timely and informative and has a lot of detailed information plus a nice catalog. The exhibition on Contemporary Muslim Fashions a few years ago was a real trailblazer.

I enjoy museums of all kinds so much! This museum included. Museum Applied Art is a must-see museum in Frankfurt as it contains interesting arts to see with a wide range of different exhibitions. Did I mention how lovely the lady at the entrance was! She introduced us to the museum day pass? I believe, which allows us to visit multiple museums in 2 days and save money alongside. She’s so sweet and helpful. However, some points I wanted to highlight: It’d have been more interesting and informative if they’ve added an english translated description on the side of some arts, It’ll be easier to understand what I’m looking at. I fell in love with the building itself, the architecture was so minimalistic yet interesting. The day light was obvious all around within the museum, it was arranged accordingly and strategically.

I would never have thought that Applied Art is so fresh, interesting, even beautiful! I really recommend this museum in Frankfurt. There are around 50 museums here, but do not miss this one. Like all the other museums I have been in, it's not too big, and you need 2-3 hours to explore it slowly and with "gusto". It was even interesting for my son, as there were interactive exhibits that he could engage with.

New Old Town in Frankfurt, also known as Frankfurts Old Town, is a district that was partly destroyed during World War II but has been restored to its prewar look. The area features ornate townhouses and medieval buildings, giving visitors a glimpse of how Frankfurt once looked. Notable landmarks include the Alte Oper opera house and the iconic Haus zur goldenen Waage.
It is the heart of the city. Basically after Dom and all other beautiful things you end up here. It is very touristic but still quite nice and peaceful. There are lots of decent restaurants all around where you can enjoy.

The buildings that were destroyed during the war have been reconstructed to match the aesthetics and architecture of the old building. Every building has a story to tell and history to reveal. There are a lot of cafes and shopping spots here. It was amazing walking along the buildings

Loved it here, the square was so pretty and relaxing. A few lovely restaurants, most wanted you to have food and wouldn't just serve drinks, but we did find one at the end that was happy to just serve drinks. The square was smaller than I anticipated but the river walk, the iron bridge, boat trips, and bars along the river were amazing, really welcoming and buzzing with music and people, such a great atmosphere. I visited for a long weekend and spent each evening beside the river. The shops had a good range of souvenirs as well as practical items, and no matter where we went out who were spoke to, everyone was so friendly, informative and welcoming, even with my very poor attempts at speaking German.
