The Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory is a must-visit attraction in Louisville, offering tours and exhibits on the iconic sports equipment. The museum showcases the handcrafting process of the famous Louisville Slugger baseball bats, which have been an industry standard for nearly 140 years. Located in Downtown Louisville on Museum Row, visitors can explore interactive exhibits and learn about the history of baseball while admiring iconic artifacts like Babe Ruth's bat.
I had no idea what to expect when we went to the Slugger Museum in Kentucky. My husband and the kids were excited, which made me curious as to why. The tour turned out to be very thorough and engaging. Our guide was knowledgeable, explained everything clearly, and answered all of our questions along the way. One of the most memorable parts for me was learning about the machines brought over from Germany in 1964. They’ve been in operation ever since, and I was amazed at how well they still work. When I asked about repairs, the guide explained that there are mechanics on site who specialize in maintaining them, with that knowledge passed down from generation to generation. I also learned something I had never thought about before… Slugger bats are made from three types of wood: birch, ash, and maple. The history behind the bats and the precision that goes into how they are made, even down to the way they are positioned, and how the decals or stamping are carefully placed, gave me a whole new appreciation for the bats themselves. I would highly recommend making the Slugger Museum one of your stops if you’re visiting the area.

We love this place! We took our kids there because they play baseball and I highly recommend doing the full tour experience. Their shop has a nice variety of bats at an affordable price. Finding parking is easy because we park at the museum parking & their price for parking is way more convenient than the other public parking lot nearby. Their cafe staff members we interacted with were very friendly and helpful. Go visit!

I absolutely loved coming here. It has been a bucket list location for a long time and didn’t disappoint. Our tour guide was great. Very knowledgeable, kind and patient. You get a mini bat at the end of the tour. Definitely check out the gift shows and other free attractions at this place

Great baseball history experience for anyone. I'm not too much of a baseball fan, but thoroughly enjoyed my time there. Enjoyed our tour and our tour guide was very informative. Learned alot and enjoyed my time in the museum as well. Lots of history in every corner. Will definitely be visiting again in the future.
Claudio T — Google review
Great museum and factory tour! The tour was approximately 30-45 minutes and was a great experience. It was so neat to hold an actual bat from legends such as Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, Johnny Bench, etc. The batting cage was a nice bonus that we enjoyed as well. Highly recommend for families.
Todd H — Google review
If you love baseball, this is a stop for you. Lots of baseball history and fun to see a major part of the game come to life from the tree selection to the finished product. This is an actual factory, they were working during the tour and you get a surprise at the end. We'll worth the visit!
Jonathan W — Google review
Fantastic l little museum factory. Which takes you through the making and history of the Louisville slugger baseball bat. Friendly staff. If you're a baseball ball fan you should have plenty all things to see to occupy a good hour and a half to 2 hours. Especially if you have a favorite player or a favorite team. Plus you get a mini bar with your tour😊
The M — Google review
If your a baeball fan or close by this is a must see. I would recommend purchasing reservations ahead of time and taking the tour of the museum. I visited with the family and spent around 4 hours here. There are a number of historical displays and interactions that you can participate in. The factory walk through was interesting as you can see the build out of a MLB baseball bat. Would recommend if your in the area!

The Muhammad Ali Center in downtown Louisville is a must-visit for anyone interested in the life and career of the iconic boxing legend, Muhammad Ali. The museum showcases his journey from Olympic boxer to three-time World Heavyweight Champion, highlighting his conversion to Islam and his core principles. Visitors can explore interactive exhibits, multimedia displays, and historic artifacts that tell the story of Ali's incredible life.
This a such a great experience. They've done a great job honoring Mr. Ali's athletic and humanitarian legacy. Five floors of phenomenal exhibits. I love that they have you start at the top floor and work your way down. There are also beautiful murals on the center building and surrounding buildings. A must see if you're in or near Louisville.
L. B — Google review
A great museum to learn more about the life of Muhammad Ali. The exhibits beautifully showcase his journey — from his early years in Louisville to becoming a world champion and a global humanitarian. Interactive displays, personal artifacts, and inspiring stories make the experience both educational and moving. A must-visit for anyone who admires “The Greatest.”
Sevinj S — Google review
I’m grateful that I had the chance to bring my son here to see the EPIC legacy of an icon- Muhammad Ali. I’ve been here once before, and both visits left an impression. You can FEEL the greatness of Muhammad Ali- it’s not just a visit, it’s an experience. My son asked so many questions and it made for great discussions. I’m really glad he went. I’m bringing my other sons with me to visit too! If you’re from Kentucky, especially Louisville, you should visit if you can. Make sure to start at the beginning! You can’t even begin to experience the inspiration and true grit of this man without having a sense of where he came from. The persecution. The determination. The legend. It was humbling, heartbreaking and inspiring. Muhammad Ali, the epitome of greatness in all facets. He was more than a world champion boxer. He was a champion in character. “If my mind can conceive it, and my heart can believe it-then I can achieve it” -Muhammad Ali, the greatest.

Inspiring and Powerful Experience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An inspiring place that beautifully celebrates Muhammad Ali’s life, values, and legacy. The exhibits are powerful, educational, and moving. A must-visit in Louisville!
Rex R — Google review
This place was amazing. The set up was awesome. My favorite thing was a full size boxing ring with a show being played in the middle of it. You see a amazing man in such a complicated time in our country's past. I would so highly recommend
Mark B — Google review
The Ali Center is the place to go to learn the incredible life story of The Greatest of All Time. The museum is chock full of photos, videos, paintings and other memorabilia chronicling the unbelievable journey of a little boy named Cassius Clay who became a three-time heavyweight champion and global icon as Muhammad Ali. I grew up during his heyday and loved and admired him. I remember his comedic antics before fights with his opponents (and the obnoxious sportscaster Howard Cosell). The museum jogged a memory when I saw references to his fights with Jerry Quarry. I went to the Oct. 26, 1970, closed-circuit broadcast in Springfield, Illinois, with my dad. We witnessed Ali’s triumphant return to the ring after a 3 1/2-year banishment. The fight was stopped in the third round due to a cut over Quarry's left eye. Ali would claim his second heavyweight championship four years later. Ali’s religious beliefs are a major focus in the museum. For someone who grew up in the 60s and 70s, the Ali museum brings back a lot of memories. Anyone younger would learn a lot about an important chapter of American history by visiting.
Jerrold F — Google review
Visiting the Muhammad Ali Center was a powerful and unforgettable experience. The exhibits are beautifully done — not just showcasing Ali's legendary boxing career, but also his values, activism, and global impact. One of the most moving moments was seeing the Olympic torch he carried, it gave me chills. The interactive displays and personal artifacts really bring his story to life, and the top floor view overlooking the river is stunning. It’s more than a museum, it’s a place that challenges you to think bigger, stand firm in your beliefs, and strive to be your best. Truly inspiring and a must-visit in Louisville.
Mo J — Google review
What an inspirational place to visit. You can spend a lot of time here and be very inspired by such a young man at a time when the world was not so nice. You'll get emotional learning so much about Muhammad Ali life and all his struggles and how he still continued to carry his head high.

Caverns & Caves
Louisville Mega Cavern is a former limestone quarry that has been transformed into an underground adventure playground. It offers a variety of activities such as zip lining, ropes courses, tram tours, and e-bike tours. The cavern's history dates back to the 1930s when it was used as a working limestone mine and quarry. During the Cold War, it served as a fallout shelter before being repurposed into a commercial storage facility and later into a tourist attraction.
Awesome experience! I went with my mom who’s not big on informational tours but even she enjoyed it! We did the Tram Guide Tour and our tour guide was so funny and nice! She answered questions after the tour and gave us witty jokes when traveling down the caverns to keep us entertained! They had stunning lights and exhibits to see when you go deeper. It wasn’t packed today since it was during a Tuesday, so I’d suggest going during the week if you can. All staff were really nice to my mom and I, and were very helpful when it came to signing in and receiving our tickets or asking questions! 10/10 for it all and I’m so excited to come back in a million years and see it all again! (You’ll get that joke when you go on the tour)

🌟 Big thanks to Sebastian for giving us such an amazing tour at the Louisville Mega Cavern! 🌟 We had a great time learning about the history of the cavern—Sebastian was so knowledgeable and made the experience fun and engaging. 🚋✨ Although we only had time for the Mega Tram tour this trip, we saw just how much more there is to explore—zip lines, ropes courses, biking, and more. Definitely worth another visit! If you’re ever in Louisville, the Mega Cavern is a must-see. 🪨🙌
Amy T — Google review
We had a blast! We only lasted an hour. The workers said no one lasts more than 2 hours. So yes there is a time limit but not really. It is actually really hot down there. We definitely did not need jackets. I was sweating like crazy by the end of it.
Rebecca B — Google review
Had a great time with Tour Team 2 (Lizzie and Sydney). They took us through the cavern crossing 5 zip lines and two suspension bridges. Shoes are important since there are some muddy/slick spots, and since it was summer we didn't need any covering, but in the winter that'd be a different story. Favorite zip lines were the longest one (3 Football fields) and the last one where you can race another guest. Thanks for the great time, Team 2!
Jason S — Google review
Mega Cavern was a fun spot to visit. There are many activities to do within the cavern. There is a ropes course, a walking tour, a tram tour and a zip line course where one of the zip lines is a long as the titanic. My family chose the tram tour and had a good time. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot. I recommend visiting if you are in the area.
Lesha A — Google review
We went ziplining and had a blast! We had four of us in our group and were paired up with a few other people plus the two tour guides. The group wasn't too big, and it was a very fun/different experience right in the heart of Louisville. Our tour guides out did themselves (Cam & Caroline for group 3 - I highly recommend these two!!) and made sure we all had a ton of fun while also being safe. The actual ziplines and bridges we took were fun! The only thing we thought would've made the experience better would've been to have music to go along with the lights they had. I will definitely do this again!
Ashley C — Google review
So much fun! Jj and Norbert are the best! Ask for them!! We did the zip line and it was our first time and they made sure we knew what to expect and felt safe the entire time! Give these 2 a raise! They deserve one!
Amber C — Google review
Fantastic zip line course. There’s 5 fun zip lines and a couple of suspended bridges across. Takes about three hours to do everything. Here’s the biggest tip, wear your crappiest shoes because they will get really muddy and dirty. Austin and sarah?? were the tour guides and they were very upbeat and friendly

Churchill Downs is a historic and iconic thoroughbred horse-racing track located in Louisville, Kentucky. It is most famous for hosting the annual Kentucky Derby, a prestigious event in the world of horse racing. The site also features a museum that offers tours to visitors year-round.
If you visit Louisville, KY and have the opportunity to visit Churchill Downs, I would highly recommend going. This time, I attended the evening racing on a Thursday and had a great experience. The crowd was smaller and temperatures were more comfortable. They had $2 beer, live music, and food trucks. Churchill Downs is a beautiful place and they keep making it better. (See the pictures I posted from an upper level at the track) I have gone to Churchill for Oaks, Derby, evening races, and wedding receptions. Check their website for events and special occasions throughout the year. You won't be disappointed!
Mark B — Google review
Our group of 4 enjoyed our experience here. All the tour guides were knowledgeable and readily accepted and encouraged questions. We did the extra early morning track tour and got to see horses finishing their am work out and the track grooming begin. This was followed by an informative movie in the Great Room covered by the general admission. We had time afterwards to wander the museum displays on 2 floors. We remembered triple crown winner Secretariat and enjoyed the 2nd floor info on him including video of all 3 races. We finished our time there with the barn and backside tour which was quite interesting. There are many horses stabled here plus about 600 trainers, etc. that live above the barns or in the dorms. We saw many stables, horses, and their care givers at work.
Barbara L — Google review
We did the backstretch workout tour. Our guide was Ferguson who was simply great. The tour started off at the Museum at 6:45am.. if you do this tour.. it will seem like no one is around at that t, but there folks at the museum entrance who are inside.. just knock on the doors and staff will let you in. Your DSLR camera might be welcome with no flash, so be sure to ask. This tour was 2 hours and well worth it. You will get to see the horses working out, as well as the ponies that are used to walk out the thoroughbreds on race day. You will also get to see the stables and the race horses.. We were shuttled around by golf buggy so no worries about walking. You will have to pay for the museum in addition to the tour. We had a wonderful experience and got to see and learn so much about this iconic place. Reservations are required. Parking is free.. no restrooms once you start to tour but there are rest rooms in the museum prior to the start.
Roger C — Google review
We're really not horse racing people or gamblers but we decided to come visit anyway because of the iconic reputation and we're so glad we came. The horses are beautiful and the facility is amazing. General admission was $10. The surrounding area is rough not what you'd expect with such a prestigious venue close by. Keep your arms and legs inside the ride at all times and don't feed the wild animals. Absolutely recommend visiting Churchill Downs though if you're in the area.
Lonnie C — Google review
Go early and have the full museum tour experience! Take your kids if you have any. They have nice things to buy at their shop. Their cafe has a bar & a good variety of food. The museum is full of history, pictures, trophy, dresses, etc. My favorite part was the tour.
Yenisey D — Google review
We visited Churchill Downs for the Survivor’s Day Races and it was an unforgettable experience. We had tickets for Millionaires Row, and everything from start to finish was exceptional. The atmosphere and views were incredible — truly a one-of-a-kind racing experience. The food and drinks were top-tier, beautifully presented, and delicious. The service was outstanding as well; the staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure everyone was taken care of throughout the day. There were four of us in our group, and we all had an amazing time enjoying the races, the energy of the crowd, and the overall luxury of the Millionaires Row experience. It made the day truly special and memorable. If you’re planning a visit to Churchill Downs, I highly recommend Millionaires Row for a first-class experience — we will definitely be returning!

What a fantastic racing experience this was. The entire place was staffed well and all of them were extremely friendly. Betting couldn't have been easier with plenty of personnel taking bets and automatic machines. The weather was perfect making it even a more delightful afternoon.

So fun. There’s races daily, so you can just pop in, i think it was $10 per person, and bet on a few races or just watch. They happen about every 30 minutes. Sit wherever you want and just enjoy this truly historic building.

The Kentucky Derby Museum, located at Churchill Downs, offers a captivating experience with films, interactive exhibits, and more that narrate the history of the renowned horse race. Visitors can also explore other attractions in Louisville such as the Muhammad Ali Center, Cave Hill Cemetery where Muhammad Ali and Colonel Harland Sanders are buried, the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory showcasing the iconic wooden baseball bat, and the Frazier History Museum serving as the starting point for the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
Wow so much history here. Great tour with our guide taking us around and out to the track. Lots to see with all the displays of trophies and memories of past Jockies and owners. The people who helped make Churchill Downs the best horse track ever. We had lunch in the cafe and got to see horses out back of the cafe. It was a good day spent visiting the Kentucky Derby Museum. The run for the Roses.

Great way to learn about the history of the Kentucky Derby and see a lot of memorabilia. Our tour guide was fantastic. Lots of cool displays. They did have a lot of private events going on so some areas were closed. Still, worth the trip!
Rebecca Z — Google review
We really enjoyed the museum. On display were trophies, photos videos and costumes from the rich history of the Kentucky Derby. At the time of our visit there was a special exhibition of memorabilia from arguably the greatest race horse of all time.. Secretariat. This was an added bonus that I really enjoyed.
Roger C — Google review
Great museum. Even better Barn and Backside Tour. Worth the extra few dollars. Ally, our your guide, was knowledgeable extremely enthusiastic with great sense of humor. Really felt like we came away knowing much more about thoroughbred racing and the traditions of Churchhill Downs. Don't miss.
Paul D — Google review
I did the Ultimate Churchill Downs Tour and it was actually pretty cool. I came into it as someone who has never watched a horse race and I left the tour wanting to come down for the Kentucky Derby. My guide was very knowledgeable and you could tell he loved sharing the stories of the derby. I would recommend this to anyone who likes learning about history and especially those who love horse racing. One thing that was good to see is they clearly take very good care of the horses at Churchill Downs.
Jacob N — Google review
Local resident here - “Barn and Backside tour” with BARRY….priceless! Barry is a treasure - we have been to the track and museum numerous times but had yet to do the backside tour. Barry was amazing! (I think Churchill needs to figure out how to record/document his knowledge for the future!)
Shelley T — Google review
A great museum if you are into horse racing and the history of how the sport became successful. The had a few interactive areas to keep children interested, but there was also a lot of reading. We were most looking forward to the tour, but when we arrived, they were sold out. We didn't think to buy ahead for a random Wednesday in September, but my recommendation is to buy tickets for the tours ahead of time. We still got to go on the mini tour included with the museum tickets, but would have loved to see more of the track.
Heather M — Google review
Wow what a great place to learn about US history, the museum is fascinating and the tour here are excellent. I liked the Barn and Backside tour much more than the Superstars and Spires tour. The first tour if you do an early tour is the early morning tours you can see the horses exercising on the track which is a cool experience. The guide we had, Keyanna was excellent. The Superstar tour I would skip if I were to come back unless you REALLY want a photo by the spires. This place is a definite must in Louisville I spent about 4 hours here- the movie is a must and every admission to includes one complimentary tour (which I didn’t know about but the other two tour has information that overlaps). If you are planning to do a tour DEFINITELY book online in advance just in case.

Situated on Museum Row in downtown Louisville, the Frazier History Museum is a modern museum that offers a comprehensive look into Kentucky's culture and traditions. With three floors of exhibitions, the museum showcases artifacts related to various aspects of Kentucky's history, including the Civil War, Bourbon and tobacco industries, textiles, art, and the lives of Kentuckians. The museum also hosts talks, events, and educational programs throughout the year. One of its main attractions is the Charles W.
This museum is incredible. My wife and I visited while we were staying a month in Kentucky. Absolutely blown away by everything Kentucky has to offer and all of the history of this place. The museum did a fabulous job displaying the wonderful and varied history of the state.

This is a really cool museum about Kentucky history. You could easily get through most of the exhibits in 1 to 2 hours. They did have a film that played three times a day, that we watched. That was really interesting and informative as well. We learned quite a bit about how many different people are from Kentucky. And we learned a lot of facts about the state, that we did not know before. Definitely worth a trip if you have time.

I got married here on June 14, 2025. Not only was the venue gorgeous, the staff were magnificent. Throughout the entire process, they answered all my questions and after booking they let us and our family tour it multiple times since we booked almost 2 years out. The week/day of, the staff working our event were amazing. They were attentive and helped us in every way. We could not have picked a better place with better people.

We had a tour of the bourbon floor and did the bourbon tasting. Very nice. We have tickets to go back because there are many floors and many different displays.

As a visitor from out of town, I learned alot about KY. Alot of it definitely seems geared more for kids, but there was still quite a few exhibits I found interesting as an adult. P.s. There is an entrance to a secret speakeasy in the bourbon hallway

Very cool! 😎 First time in Louisville...neat find!! Not just the political history of Louisville and Kentucky but everything from the geological, industrial and sports! And no, they didn't forget the bourbon! 🥃 Sorry I didn't take more pics Louisville Slugger factory and museum are just across the street! Made for a great combo afternoon!

We attended a work event at the museum, the museum itself was beautiful with plenty of interesting pieces to fill the downtime before the event started. The space provided for the event was amazing. There was one floor dedicated to cocktail/ social hour and another floor for the ceremony itself as well as two floors of museum exhibits. The main event space was complete with podium for speakers, dance floor, space for buffet and space for bar and games. The spaces never felt crowded and it was never boring, great event space for large groups, we had probably 120 people.

Nature & Parks
Waterfront Park is a picturesque oasis situated along the Ohio River, just north of downtown Louisville. This 85-acre green space offers walking paths, water features, kids' play areas, vast lawns, and public art for visitors to enjoy. The park is also renowned for hosting major music festivals such as Forecastle Festival in May and Bourbon & Beyond in September. These events feature an impressive lineup of artists across various genres and attract thousands of attendees from around the country.
Waterfront Park in Louisville, KY, is a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy the scenic Ohio River. The view of the river alongside the iconic bridge structure is truly picturesque, especially on a sunny day. The park is open to everyone with no entry fee, making it a perfect place for a casual stroll or a peaceful break. During my visit, I noticed many people walking with their pets — mostly dogs — which adds to the friendly and laid-back vibe of the place. There are plenty of seating areas throughout the park, ideal for resting or simply enjoying the surroundings. Another plus is the availability of scooters outside the park, which you can use to explore the city further. Overall, it’s a great urban green space for walking, relaxing, and taking in the riverside views.

Louisville Waterfront Park is one of the most beautiful and relaxing spots in the city. Whether you’re visiting with family, friends, or just looking for some quiet time alone, this park offers the perfect escape right in downtown Louisville. The park is very well-maintained — clean walkways, plenty of open green space, and stunning views of the Ohio River. You can take a nice long walk or bike ride along the riverfront, enjoy the cool breeze, and stop by the Big Four Bridge to take in the skyline view. The bridge lighting at night is absolutely gorgeous and makes for some great photos.

During the visit to Waterfront Park in Louisville, I was pleasantly surprised by how peaceful and scenic the place felt. It’s one of those spots that perfectly blends the calm of nature with the energy of the city. As the sun began to set, the sky transformed into a soft mix of oranges and pinks, reflecting beautifully over the Ohio River. Sitting by the water and watching the boats drift by was incredibly relaxing — the kind of moment that makes you slow down and just take it all in. As night fell, the nearby bridge came alive with bright, colorful lights, casting shimmering reflections on the river. It gave the whole park a warm, vibrant glow — almost magical. Families, couples, and joggers shared the space, and despite being out after dark, you can feel completely safe thanks to the visible police presence in the area.

We stayed in Louisville over Memorial Day weekend. We had some extra time on our hands, so we searched some places in the city to visit. We settled on Waterfront Park, and I’m so glad we went. It’s a beautiful park right on the Ohio River. It’s so nice we actually went three times! It’s right across the street from the Louisville Bats’ stadium. You can watch the stadium fireworks from the park. Downtown is really nice. We heard a lot of bad stuff about downtown Louisville, so we were a little nervous to try it. I think some common sense will get you a long way. We stayed together, stayed in the populated areas, left before dark, etc. We never felt scared. The RED LOT (you can search “Waterfront Park Red Lot” in your GPS) - FREE parking by the older playground. There are some bathrooms and lots of benches. Good shade. Walking paths that go down to the water near the bridges. You can walk the riverfront by all the bridges, the Lincoln memorial area, and all the way to the pedestrian bridge, the new playground and splash pad. There are LOTS of benches, swings, and shaded areas along the way. It’s a pretty, easy walk. It’s very nice. Lots of families and couples. Lovely. The SILVER LOT (you can search “Waterfront Park Silver Lot” in your GPS) - FREE parking by the new playground and splash pad. There are other parking lots nearby too, if this lot is full. The playground and splash pad were great; the kids loved it! There are bathrooms right there. Lots of benches, tables, and swings and a nice walking path by the river. You can access the ramp to the pedestrian bridge (Big Four Bridge) from here. It’s a nice, easy ramp up to the bridge. The bridge itself is 1 mile across to the Indiana side. There are no benches on the ramp going up to the bridge, but there are lots of benches once you get on the bridge. Food trucks set up in the area as well. We had a great time there, and would definitely go back!

If you are in Louisville then please, please go on this walking bridge. The views are incredible. A unique experience. Don't ask questions just go for a walk. You'll thank me later. Excellent park for children on both the Indiana and Kentucky side.

Nice park along the riverfront in Louisville. Lot of festivals and events here and be sure to walk across the Big 4 Bridge, great views of the city, river, and good exercise.

Walked here the day before the Mulligans 5k fun run and also ran across the pedestrian bridge during the run. It was a nice walk and nice view of all the bridges.

Beautiful and modern. The Big Four Bridge is a former railroad bridge now pedestrian bridge that crosses the Ohio River that links the park to downtown Jeffersonville, IN. Playgrounds and splash park for kids. The park stretches a good length along the Ohio River in downtown Louisville. Another phase has recently opened on the west side of downtown with an huge playground.

Kentucky Science Center is a kid-friendly museum located in Downtown's West Main District on Museum Row. It offers hands-on exhibits, IMAX films, and educational programs for visitors of all ages. The museum aims to make learning interactive and engaging with various themed sections such as Unique Human, aviation, big blue planet, engineering, and live science demonstrations. The colorful displays and interactive zones create a sense of play and whimsy for visitors to explore and learn about science in an entertaining way.
We went and it was absolutely amazing! The staff was a kind and helpful. They had a lot of really neat exhibits that my 2-year-old enjoyed exploring. They had a water station and on the top floor they have a little construction area which she had plenty of fun playing in. Definitely look forward to going there again in the future.

A fun little learning center! My husband and I came to Louisville on a recent anniversary trip. We took the tour of the Louisville Slugger Museum and decided to walk down the road to check out whatever places there were to see. We came across the Kentucky Science Center and decided to have a look for a future trip with our younger kids. The museum was housed in an old building downtown, which I absolutely loved! The idea that this building was once something else way back in the day, really intrigues me. The architecture is always an added bonus. The museum is very spread out, which makes it nice because you’re not on top of each other trying to get to things. Highlights: My husband was very excited to see the UPS exhibit. He retired from UPS so he really did enjoy that part of it. Thank you for that 😃 We also adored the little area that had construction vests in you were able to build. So cute! Oh, and standing inside of a bubble at the entrance was also really cool. It’s a great place for the littles and a nice place to come on a rainy or hot day. The downside and the reason I gave it only 4 stars is it seems like there’s really not enough things to do in the museum. Because they are so spread out, it looks much larger than it is. The things to do are very similar to those at other science centers. If you are somebody who lives in this area or may not have been to any other science type centers, then this place is definitely a fun place to go with the kids especially if you are a member. Another thing I noticed is that certain areas were kind of a mishmosh. For instance, there was a space capsule in the same room as animal heads and tusks that were on the wall. Also, in the same room as the mummy? I just thought that maybe whomever set up the museum could have put them more into categories instead of just kind of placing them wherever it seemed like there was a spot to use. In the same room, there was an extremely strong scent coming from the Subway sandwich shop downstairs. I believe that this beautiful building could be revamped into something so much more when it comes to the science center. I think it needs a little bit more when it comes to a tween area as well. Just looking at each area again and placing things more categorically would be wonderful. I would certainly bring the kids here as the building itself is extremely interesting. Overall, I would still recommend a visit here 😃 There is an admission fee and tickets can be bought ahead. Very good for kids. Changing tables in the restrooms. Live performances. Gift shop and theater on the premises. Subway in the building for food. Paid parking garage, parking lot or on street parking. *Wheelchair accessible entrance, parking lot and restrooms

Always a wonderful time three floors of tons of fun stuff to do. Perfect to wear your little ones out or for curious older ones. We absolutely love the science center! From the noodles, the climbing wall, the ups truck, the grocery, splash table. Everything is typically well kept and tidy. Very busy place since it's downtown.
Mariama P — Google review
This place is expensive but awesome. There are so many learning areas for different ages and themes. The UPS Truck was a huge hit with the kids. I felt like the small toddler area needed some updating and a good cleaning but the activities were varied and fun. The grocery area seemed to be very popular. I am not sure how you could keep all of those items sorted and clean. Maybe in the store’s checkout area there could be sorting opportunities. As an adult I loved the upstairs area about personalties, traits, feelings, etc.
Christy E — Google review
The Kentucky Science Center in downtown Louisville is truly one of the best places to explore science with kids and family. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the excitement of learning mixed with fun. There are three floors filled with interactive exhibits that keep children and adults engaged for hours. My kids especially enjoyed the hands-on areas where they could build, test, and experiment. It’s not only entertaining but also educational in a way that sparks curiosity. The staff members are friendly, helpful, and very patient with children. They make the experience even smoother by answering questions and guiding families through the exhibits. Another highlight is the IMAX theater, which adds a whole new level of excitement to the visit. Parking is convenient, located on the back side under the bridge, and members can park all day for only $8, which is very reasonable for downtown. One of the most amazing things is that if you have WIC benefits, the Kentucky Science Center offers a free family membership plan, making science accessible to more families. Overall, this is a must-visit spot in Louisville for learning, fun, and family bonding. Highly recommended!

Louisville Zoo, nestled in the Poplar Level neighborhood, is a beloved attraction featuring over 1,700 animals from around the globe. With eight major exhibits like Glacier Run and Gorilla Forest, visitors can witness diverse species and enjoy educational shows and animal feedings. The zoo also offers unique wedding venues where couples can exchange vows surrounded by their favorite animals. From intimate ceremonies to larger receptions, this venue provides an unforgettable experience for couples and their guests amidst stunning wildlife habitats.
We went from open to close and managed to walk through everything only avoiding the park and splash park area (we wanted to see every exhibit). Kids had a great time. Would recommend buying tickets online. There are member discounts on things like camel ride , giraffe feeding and tight rope walk . If you frequent location I’d recommend getting membership

Great little getaway with my family! I like that you can bring in your own food and coolers. The opportunities to feed the giraffes and birds were absolutely awesome and well priced. It was $3. That's very affordable. The only complaint I had was over half of the buttons that open the doors for a wheelchair did not work, and we had a family member in a wheelchair.

Highlights include the Gorilla Forest, Glacier Run, and the Islands exhibit—all of which are engaging, educational, and fun to explore. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly dedicated to the care of the animals and the experience of the guests. The zoo also offers interactive and seasonal events that make every visit unique, from animal encounters to themed festivals. It’s easy to spend an entire day here without running out of things to see or do. The Louisville Zoo strikes a perfect balance between conservation, education, and entertainment. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, it’s a must-see attraction that provides memories for all ages. Truly a gem in Louisville!

First time here and it was amazing! When we travel we try new zoos and wildlife sanctuaries and this one is one of our new favorites! The only gripe was the menus included food for the Halloween event but didn't state it was only available in the evening during the event times. Had to work at finding food after being excited about several things on the menu and it not being available.

Staff goes above and beyond to care and promote all these special and endangered species. Not to mention they have wonderful engagement and even had a super fun drum circle 😄 Highly recommended and with food drive you can do good for the community. Did I mention the gift shop?? Fabulous 🐧 earrings! Please visit and you will have a special day to remember of stress relief and pure fun!!

Great animal talks, demonstrations, and exhibits. The bear talks and seal show are really cool to see the animals up close. The tram is a relief from the hills and to get to a certain area quicker. Suggested donation is $1. Wait time for a tram may be 15 minutes. The Splash Park is fun (check website or call ahead to see if it’s open or closed for maintenance). There are several employees making sure kids use the slides one at a time. There are two playgrounds near the restaurants.

Had an amazing time watching the animals. Very clean. The elephant exhibit was closed for for reason but the rest of the animals were out and about so we seen most all of them. Great place to walk and get out of the house. Kids have a splash pad if you go so I suggest a change of clothes for them

The Speed Art Museum, located near the University of Louisville, is a spacious and renowned cultural attraction. Following a major expansion and renovation in 2016, it now houses an extensive permanent collection spanning 6,000 years of human creativity. The museum features diverse artworks including contemporary pieces, photography, African sculptures, Native American craftwork, and a section dedicated to celebrating Black artists.
I went to the Brilliant Blooms event and had such a wonderful time. The art museum really put a lot of effort into this event, there were drinks, live jazz music, a bouquet bar and of course the beautiful displays created by local florists. This event was affordable and I LOVED that they gave local florists an opportunity to show their work. One of my favorite aspects was that you really could smell the flowers and it looked like they curated each piece to fit with the art in the room. Would definitely go back and definitely recommend.

Love the architecture. This museum is around U of Louisville so went on a weekday during winter break. Fridays have a children’s day, but planned to go right when it opened, to bet the rush. Great special exhibits and solid permanent pieces. Definitely plan to go back.

Wow! This is a true gem in Louisville, KY. I mean that. There is so much depth and beauty to be discovered here in this masterfully laid out museum. There are exhibits that are ancient and then there are modern and contemporary exhibits. The newer addition of the building is a piece of art all in itself. I recommend a trip to see this art museum. I am thankful I took my family.

Drove down from Cincinnati to see the Brilliant Exiles exhibit about American Women in Paris 1900-1939. First, the museum is beautiful, an architectural masterpiece. And the exhibit was absolutely terrific—just the right size, very approachable, good information with each photograph/painting. The whole theme of ‘brilliance’ and the kind of independence and joy of these women are deftly captured in this exhibit. It was a pleasure to be there, a privilege to see the works. We did do a little exploring of the rest of the museum, and I especially liked the Kentucky Art section. Well worth a drive to this wonderful museum!

Art museum has a wide variety of art, from classical to folk art. The building itself is fun to explore. Didn't realize it sits on the Louisville University campus, not downtown! Allow for at least half a day to see it all

Nice small museum, doable in 2-3 hours. The map is not super useful, but you can find your way through. A fair amount of old white male art, but a really good amount of female artists and artists of color are featured. There are lots of Kentucky artists represented as well. The furniture was very interesting, it is throughout different galleries. The gift shop has all the normal things and some cool jewelry and stuff.

Cave Hill Cemetery & Arboretum, established in 1846, is a picturesque burial ground with the graves of many notable people. It offers the 'Footsteps of Greatness' tour featuring Muhammad Ali's burial site and other significant locations. The cemetery is also the final resting place of Colonel Harland Sanders, founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken. Visitors can explore nearby attractions such as the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory and the Kentucky Bourbon Trail starting at the Frazier History Museum.
I love visiting arboretums and gardens, as well as historic cemeteries, so this place was a must on our trip to Louisville. We visited on a Saturday morning with mostly local joggers enjoying the area. This place is ginormous and beautiful. I do wish they had more of the trees labeled with what they were.

Beautiful! This is an absolutely amazing cemetery with some gorgeous memorials. I could spend all day looking around and almost did! There are some notable people resting here all across the board. From Colonel Harland Sanders of the KFC empire to world renowned boxer, Muhammad Ali to the NBA player Derek E Smith who invented the “high five” and more! Sculptures of a husband and wife dancing, children playing, a magician and a little girl with the most beautiful memorial…Jesus holding the ropes to her playground swing. Class and beauty throughout the whole cemetery. If you are looking for anyone notable, pick up a map or you will get lost for sure. Highly recommend a stop! *wheelchair accessible parking lot and entrance

We visited this gorgeous cemetery on the advice of our bed and breakfast hosts during a little getaway to Louisville, and I'm so glad we did. Saying "it's beautiful" just doesn't convey how beautiful it really is, and we enjoyed finding the resting planes of several well known historical figures. I'm definitely glad we included this during our trip.

My friends & I were in the area for a concert. We thought wow this place looks beautiful and big let's go look. We ended up spending 2.5hrs here & we could have stayed for a few more. So beautiful all the trees, water, and just natural landscape. So much history. We found a map and a lot of famous people George Rodgers Clark, KFC Col Sanders, Muhammad Ali and so many others buried here. I definitely will be back. My husband & son would really enjoy this as well.

This is a very well-kept and peaceful cemetery that clearly holds the remains of many of Louisville’s most well-to-do residents. Many of the graves are intricately carved pieces of art, and the place is beautiful. It’s also somewhat maze-like. I visited in the morning and spent a little time admiring the stonework. It’s quite a sight if you enjoy such things.

The Conrad-Caldwell House Museum, also known as "Conrad's Castle," is a remarkable Victorian-style mansion located in the historic Old Louisville neighborhood. Built in 1893 by architect Arthur Loomis, this castle-like house showcases stunning Richardsonian Romanesque architecture. Visitors can explore its grand interior with intricate stone designs, colorful stained glass windows, and beautiful woodwork. The museum offers tours that provide insights into the building's history and late 19th-century interior design.
One of the coolest homes I've seen. I love the "castle like" design on the outside. And the neighborhood it's in is gorgeous. Very cool history in the house between the two main families as well as how it transformed from a family home into a museum of sorts. The woodwork on the interior is so detailed and so beautiful. It truly was an amazing experience.

July of 2025. Parking is available along the side streets. A charming park with a fountain, a lion statue, and an antique fire lamp-post is located in front of the mansion; a video is available for viewing. As the photographs may suggest, the exterior of this mansion is quite beautiful. Your visit begins at the gift shop, situated to the left of the mansion, where you will receive a brochure detailing each room. Restroom is also available at the gift shop. We chose a self-guided tour because we were somewhat pressed for time. After leaving the gift shop, we entered the mansion's front entrance and were greeted by Beth Caldwell of the Caldwell family, whose photograph is attached. She was exceptionally kind and provided a wealth of information. Most rooms feature photographs illustrating their historical appearance. It is truly captivating to witness how individuals of high social standing lived during that time, offering a journey back in time. Donations are gratefully accepted to support the mansion's upkeep, and a portion of your gift shop purchases also contributes to its maintenance. We hope you have a wonderful visit!

Very cool, historic mansion right outside of downtown Louisville. The neighborhood itself is worth checking out. Amazing architecture, inside and out. The folks who volunteer are very friendly and will answer any questions you have. You could spend 30 minutes, or a couple of hours here, depending on your interest. The grounds include a gift shop. Tickets are not expensive. Worth an afternoon or morning visit.

Beautiful Richardson Romanesque home in the heart of Old Louisville. Tours are roughly 70 minutes long, and they proceed through all three levels of the house. Though the stately staircase on the first floor was the highlight, all of the other rooms were elaborately decorated with many of the original furnishings (and even small accoutrements such as cookie dishes!) Beth was our docent, and she explained how she was the great-granddaughter of a Caldwell and provided personal anecdotes about some of the people who lives in the home. She was very accommodating for our large tour group.

Very informative guided tour by a member of the Caldwell Family. It was fun to take a stroll through time and history as we moved from room to room in this 9000+ sqft mansion. Many items are original from the Caldwell family and others donated. We purchased tickets in advance but probably wasn’t necessary.

My family and I went on the Lamplit Tour and had such a wonderful time! The guides were fantastic—knowledgeable, engaging, and full of interesting stories and facts. They even managed to capture (and keep!) the attention of my two energetic boys, ages 7 and 11. We all learned something new and had a great experience. Highly recommend this tour for families and history lovers alike!

This is an excellent tour. We had no idea who Conrad-Caldwell was, but this home was part of our Old Louisville Ghost Tour that we walked by so we decided to take the house tour the next day. Most house tours you get to see just a couple of rooms, but this one you get to see many and most of the furnishing were original. Our docent's name was Beth Caldwell and she was excellent. She is the great granddaughter of the 2nd owner of the home. She is very knowledgeable and patient. It was great getting insider information from a relative of the owner. This is probably the best home tour I've been on and I think most of it is due to Beth.

Nice relaxing 2 hour ride along the Ohio River. Great for kids and adults. Our kids were greeted and given a great activity book that taught them about the boat with coloring pages, scavenger hunt, and word search. The staff was very polite and friendly. We ate prior to boarding the boat so we only got a quick snack which was a little pricey. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Louisville

Really enjoyed this experience. I did a sunset music cruise. Get to the boat early if you want a seat outside by the railing! The DJ was great, played a nice mix of old and new songs. The ride was lovely. I didn't get any food but they have plenty of snacks and drinks available on board if you decide to skip dinner. If you have time I suggest a river cruise. There is paid parking in the lot next to the dock but it fills up quickly.

Really enjoyed this with my husband and daughter. My daughter enjoyed the theme based dance parties more that they offer. I loved the cruise for photography opportunities. The guide was fantastic and you could tell she loves her job. Get there early for good seats! Stadium food was a bit pricey.

Planned a trip to Louisville to go on the belle only to have the cruise cancelled after we boarded due to mechanical issues. It was very stormy and we had to deal with getting soaked trying to get to the belle from the parking we paid for. Paid 45 dollars in concessions then they cancelled after everyone got comfortable. They only gave out passes for a future cruise but I am leaving for Minnesota tomorrow so it’s a complete bust and loss of money for me. I get it stuff happens but still very frustrating after being almost 100 bucks in and being sent back home… wish we hadn’t spent the money on the concessions… the belle seemed like it would be cool though…

The best for a day out for all and sundry to cruise thro the Ohio River across the borders of the Indiana and the Kentucky States. It's running for the 111th year, an engineering marvel with proper maintenance. Three tier deck, the bottom splashing the river water to propel with steam blowing out with warmth smell on a cool sunny day; middle one is for dine, band music, event hall and the top to watch the beauty around 360 degrees. Lush green of Kentucky on one side; bridges and buildings on the IN. Competitions for all ages, like name the music; find the spots in the boat for a treasure hunt. Won the free pass for another visit for two members. Refreshments like soft drinks, pop-corns and other varieties give treat to us with their aroma around. A never miss a chance spot.

Had a fun ride on the Belle of Louisville in Cincinnati. I have many fond memories of The Belle from a family excursion when I was little, to a high school prom, a welcome to the University of Louisville Dental School, to today’s ride.

Sights & Landmarks
The Big Four Bridge is a stunning transformation of a historic railroad bridge that now serves as a pedestrian and bicycle pathway, connecting the vibrant Louisville Waterfront Park to Jeffersonville, Indiana. Spanning an impressive 2,525 feet over the Ohio River, this iconic structure offers breathtaking views of both city skylines and riverfront landscapes. Since its conversion in 1969, it has become a beloved destination for walkers, runners, and cyclists alike.
Lovely place for a walk or run, well lit in the evening and has interesting facts/history boards along the way. Large ramps up and around to the bridge portion. Open to all ages and abilities. Connects Kentucky and Indiana. Music playing overhead when you hit the middle of the way! Recommend a walk across to anyone who visits the area.

The Big Four Bridge is truly one of Louisville’s most iconic landmarks and a must-visit spot for anyone exploring the downtown area. Originally built in 1895 as a railroad bridge, it has been beautifully transformed into a pedestrian and bicycle pathway that connects Louisville, Kentucky to Jeffersonville, Indiana. Spanning about 2,525 feet over the Ohio River, the bridge offers stunning panoramic views of the water, skyline, and passing barges. The LED lights that illuminate the bridge each night make it an especially magical place to visit after sunset. It’s perfect for walking, jogging, or cycling, and the smooth ramps on both ends make it accessible for all ages. Despite some older safety concerns, there’s now excellent police presence on both sides, making it a very safe and family-friendly attraction. On the Louisville side, there’s an amazing playground and splash area for kids (all free), along with clean restrooms. On the Indiana side, you’ll find several great restaurants—The Parlour is a must-try for pizza and iced tea—and even an ice cream shop nearby. Free parking, scenic views, and a peaceful atmosphere make this bridge an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended for families, couples, and solo visitors alike!

We visited the Big Four Bridge during the day and had a great time as a family. The walk across the bridge was peaceful with beautiful views of the Ohio River. It’s clean, well-maintained, and perfect for a relaxing stroll or bike ride. There are parks and places to sit nearby, making it a nice spot to enjoy some fresh air. A great daytime activity for families or anyone visiting Louisville!

Easy walk, great views of the Ohio River and an overlook of the Louisville skyline. Lots and lots of people but plenty of room for them all. Bikers, runners, walkers you name it. At both ends there are parks and/or playgrounds. For fun if you use your map you can find the exact spot that you’re halfway in Indiana and halfway in Kentucky.

Great pedestrian path and good exercise from the climbing up and down from both sides of the river. Great river views and of Louisville. Moderately busy, but plenty of space. Well done!

Did a late afternoon walk across the bridge to have dinner on the Indiana side. It was an awesome experience at night with the Louisville skyline and the changing lights on the bridge. Definitely worth seeing the waterfront views over the Ohio River.

We loved walking the Big Four Bridge. 1 mile across from Kentucky to Indiana. The bridge has a nice, long ramp that goes up to the top making it easier for those who might have difficulty with stairs. There are bathrooms near the FREE parking area (park in the Silver Lot, or close to it). There are food trucks. No benches on the ramp, but there are benches on the bridge. There’s also a playground and splash pad near the bridge, and a nice pathway that goes along the river with lots of benches, swings, and shaded areas. Really pretty area!
Carol D — Google review
Very cool walking bridge from Kentucky to Indiana. Easy walk, nice big, open space. Plenty enough room for walker's runners, bikers. There's only one thing I did not like about this bridge. Is it says no pets?I can understand wild and rambunctious pets not being allowed to get on the bridge, but my dog is very well-trained. And there should be no issues as you can see in the pictures and videos. I did take my dog across the bridge because he is so well-behaved and no one said not 1 thing. So big 4 bridge there, you have it. Good dog should be able to walk across. I'm not sad about it

Louisville Slugger Field is the home stadium of the Louisville Bats, a minor-league baseball team. The field has a unique design, incorporating a former train shed into its structure. Named after the famous Louisville Slugger baseball bat, it offers views of the Ohio River and Indiana. Visitors can also enjoy attractions like the nearby Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory. The stadium's clean facilities and reasonable prices make it an ideal spot for families, with amenities such as an on-site carousel and playground.
Great little field for the Louisville Bats, but this time it is for the Savannah Bananas, team The Party Animals vs The Visitors. Great game of Banana Ball. It is more than baseball, it is super charged baseball with an attitude and Fan Focus! It is arguably the most sought after ticket. Fan and family!

I travel frequently and enjoy going to minor league games. This is one of the nicest stadiums I’ve been to in the four years I’ve been doing so. I highly recommend going and checking out a game if you haven’t. Public parking is across from the front. $10 unless you can find parking along one of the streets.

Took a large group from work and our families. We had a blast and made some great memories. There is really not a bad seat in this place. Lots of great vendors with some great food. Clean facilities and inside area had good air circulation with the right temperature.

First time I've been there. Very exciting and HUGE. Went to the restaurant inside stadium to eat and it was delicious. Went to the shopping store where they had the baseball shirts, caps, jackets etc, nicely displayed.

I got a hot dog and a Coors light when I first got there and it was $18.50 I could not believe the price that this was considering. It wasn't even a major league team. The stadium was very clean and well kept. The bathrooms were even nice. They had lots of attendance and a yellow shirt so you could see them. They really gave out a lot of balls to all their stadium fans so that was fun.

We stopped at the LSF while on a little bourbon trip. What a great place! If you like baseball, this is a must see. We got to take a tour of the bat-making facility, as well as learning about the players who used their bats. They had a couple of exhibits where you could swing a bat used by the greats, Stargell, Clemente, and Ruth. As well as inside the museum, they have home plates lining the street that you can check out.
Lina H — Google review
Nice stadium that's easy to get in and out of. They have good options for food and beverages along with alcohol and non-alcoholic options. Most of the seats are in the shade for early evening games as well, which is a big plus!
Jason S — Google review
I was blown away by the prices for a minor league game. There is zero chance this could ever be affordable for a family with children. I paid over $7 for a french fry that easily fit in thr palm of my hand and was the equivilent to McD's small fry. Lastly, and this may be 100% on me, but I had MUCH higher expectations for Louisville Slugger stadium. The Slugger is iconic but the stadium was not. Never want to be negative, but knowing what I know now, I am not surprised the stadium was empty on a Friday night sadly....

Located in Downtown Louisville, Angel's Envy Distillery is a trendy industrial-chic venue that offers tours by reservation, cocktail classes, and tastings. The area is home to numerous distilleries and breweries, making it a haven for bourbon and beer enthusiasts. Visitors can explore other nearby attractions such as the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience and Rabbit Hole Distillery. Additionally, there are several well-known brands with storefronts or visitor centers downtown.
We do a lot of distillery/brewery tours, and this was a neat place to visit! Most of the staff were friendly, with the exception of when we were leaving…the man at the front desk had his nose in the air a tad bit much, he could’ve been more friendly. He acted like he was running a 3 star Michelin restaurant!! It was a nice and clean area, my only disappointment was that the gift shop area just didn’t have very much to choose from. I was hoping to go home with some cool loot, but ended up with nothing. Their prices were a little high also. Was a little sad that they didn’t offer a complimentary glass for you to take home from your tasting experience. The candy that they paired with the drinks was really yummy though! Our tour guide was super great and so were the staff at the front desk when we first came in! Glad we got to have this experience!!

Angel’s Envy is absolutely stunning – both inside and out. From the moment you step through the doors, you’re surrounded by a warm, polished atmosphere that feels intimate yet world-class. The tour itself was outstanding. Our guide was impeccable – knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the craft. The entire experience was informative, interactive, and full of fascinating details about the bourbon and whiskey-making process. I left feeling like I truly understood and appreciated the artistry behind each bottle. The tasting was the perfect finale – the pairing with chocolates was nothing short of incredible. It elevated the flavors in a way I’ll never forget. Cons? The only thing I’d mention is that the gift shop merchandise felt a bit excessively expensive. That said, it didn’t take away from the overall experience in the slightest. Would I come back? Absolutely. This is a bourbon destination worth revisiting again and again.

I had a great experience today at Angel's Envy. I did the bourbon and chocolate tasting and it was amazing. They respect military service and the tasting was FREE for me being a veteran. That was a nice surprise. It was still reasonably priced at $20. My tasting guide was Paul (pictured) and he was extremely knowledgeable and professional. I highly recommend visiting this unique distillery. I will come back. Thank you to all of the amazing staff. It was a great couple of hours.

We had the absolute pleasure of doing the Single Barrel Tour at Angel’s Envy in Louisville, and it was nothing short of amazing. What truly made the experience stand out was our incredible tour guide, **Paula**. From the moment we met her, she made us feel completely welcome – like old friends sharing a drink and a story. Paula was **extremely knowledgeable**, passionate about the craft, and had an incredible way of explaining the entire process that made it engaging and memorable. Whether you’re a seasoned bourbon enthusiast or just beginning your journey, she brings the history, artistry, and heart of Angel’s Envy to life in a way that’s both accessible and inspiring. Her warmth, humor, and attention to detail made this tour feel truly personal. We learned so much, laughed a lot, and left with not just a deeper appreciation for bourbon, but also a fantastic memory we’ll be talking about for a long time. **Highly recommend** booking the Single Barrel Tour—and if you’re lucky enough to get Paula as your guide, you’re in for something special. Thank you, Paula and Angel’s Envy, for such a top-notch experience!

Tours were sold out by the time we arrived, but we headed up to the second floor bar and were pleasantly surprised. The space is open, bright, and beautifully designed, making it a great spot to relax. We were able to sit at a table with the kids while enjoying our drinks, which was a nice touch. I tried the Night Shade, and it had sweet undertones with a smooth finish… absolutely delicious. Even without the tour, the experience was worth the stop.

Spencer was such a great guide. Polished and passionate about bourbons. He answered a bunch of our random questions and clearly loves this part of his job. Highly recommended tasting because of the chocolate pairings from art eatables. There was one that really tasted like fruit loops. I'd definitely come back just to drink some of the amazing bar cocktails.

The angels blessed us with Matt as our tour guide. The best tour guide we could ask for! He had the best jokes and attitude. The distillery is amazing! Love the history and facilities. We also had rocking bartenders in the Finishing Room. Great folks all around, and a must visit while in Louisville! Hope I hit exactly 51% of corniness.

What an awesome place!! My husband is the bourbon guy so we stopped in to do a bourbon tour/tasting kind of last minute. Thankfully they had some open spots since we were a walk in. Even for a non bourbon drinker like me, it was a good time. Our tour guide (I'm so sorry I don't remember his name) was a younger guy, but he had so much passion and you could tell he loves his job. Explained everything from the ingredients they use for bourbon, all the way to the bottling process and then so much more, it was a great history lesson. Plus he told us how to properly drink and enjoy bourbon, which I appreciate since I had 0 clue. Actually found a sample I really enjoyed and it was the high end stuff (go figure). I forgot to mention it was my birthday and the front desk people gave me a little birthday token pair of Angel wings. That was so sweet, I loved it! After the tour (and spent some money in the gift shop), we wanted to continue enjoying our experience and stopped in the little bar they had. Our mixologist (he was so much more than a bartender) Armand was super sweet and we ended up chatting with him for a good hour about travel, food, and all sorts of life lessons. I hope he enjoys his Mediterranean cruise!! What an awesome day to spend to my birthday! Sure, you could probably do something cheaper but it won't be the fun and awesome experience my husband and I had on some random Saturday! Don't be afraid to try something new!

Wonderful visitor center with lots of information about the history of the Ohio River area around Clarksville. Lots of information and interactive exhibits about the fossils that are commonly found in this area. What was most fascinating to us was the timeline that explained the fossil and geological as well as geographic history of the Ohio River. The museum has a small admission charge of $9 per adult. Parking costs $2. The fossil beds are free to roam around.

First time to this park too and it was a very different experience than any other state park. No trails but a lot of interaction and history. There is no shade out on the flats so I would recommend a hat, sunscreen, or an umbrella. There were also a lot of dead fish in various stages of decompression, so it can get a bit smelly.

Great place for kids to explore and to be one with nature. Do not come here wearing sandals/flip flops. Shoes are an essential here! There is a suggested $2 per car donation.

An absolutely fantastic park on the other side of the river from Louisville. A lot of history happened here, including where Lewis and Clark started their expedition west. The interpretive center is affordable ($9, $2 additional to park on site, or you can park just outside the grounds for free) and a great place to spend about an hour. There's a walkway down to the river where you can see all sorts of amazing fossils from the Devonian period!

Locust Grove, a circa 1792 mansion and former home of Louisville founder George Rogers Clark, is a National Historic Landmark steeped in history. The house has hosted presidents like James Monroe and Andrew Jackson, iconic explorers such as Lewis and Clark, and famous figures like Cassius Clay. This 55-acre historic site showcases Federal-style architecture and offers tours, exhibits, events, and educational programs to the public.
I visited for the first time today. I was speechless it was so breathtaking. Our tour guide was incredible. She has so much knowledge to share and never missed a beat. The grounds I don’t even know how to describe. Honestly walking along I could almost feel like I was back in the year 1790. There is also a museum and signs posted around the property at the different buildings and you can even get an audio tour on your phone of each site. Also there are walking trails. All in all I’ve never visited a more well-maintained, beautiful historical site. Thank you for all that you all do!

It was a beautiful place to walk and enjoy a little bit of history while walking with our dog. We decided to come to Louisville this weekend with our dog and there aren't many places dog friendly but this was one of them advertised as if if don't go inside the buildings. The premises are so wide and beautiful that you can enjoy still a nice stroll with your fur baby and learn about the history of the place. It's well-maintained, too. Unfortunately, they kept the bathrooms locked.

LG has a wonderful campus. Very well maintained and clean spaces. The indoor museum is super interesting. Really well done and the information is clear to read / understand . Similar to many southern museums, they were a little too positive about the whole enslavement situation. But it was better than some. The tour of the property was excellent. Very well kept and preserved. Each room in the main house was very interesting and properly staged. Our tour guide was one of the biggest highlights if not the biggest. His name was Dave, and he was the man. Knew his stuff, and was able to answer just about every question my group had. His involvement shows, with his love for the space. We were very happy to have gotten him as the guide. Thank you for the time!

Lacks pertinent information: Source Wikipedia "In 1783, Clark, who reputedly hated Native Americans and once declared that he would like to see "the whole race of Indians extirpated, that for his part he would never spare Man woman or child of them on whom he could lay his hands", publicly proposed that a 2,000-strong force be mustered in Virginia to attack Native Americans in the Ohio Valley. Clark argued that this proposed expedition would show "that [the United States] are always able to crush [Native Americans] at our pleasure". He also once told Native Americans that if they declared war on the United States, they "should know that the next thing would be the Tomahawk" with "Your Women & Children given to the Dogs to eat". The proposed expedition was never carried out due to budgetary concerns." Nowhere is this information available at your museum. In fact you describe him as a great negotiator with the Indians. He advocated for genocide. He would feed children to dogs. As keepers of a historical site you should be deeply ashamed. Really, ask God if you think you should laud and have a statue of a man who did not love but murdered HIS greatest creation out of hate and greed. You praise and protect sin. Horrible

We were in town for my mom’s birthday and had some time to explore the downtown distillery. We’ve been on a few bourbon tours in Lexington and Bardstown, but this one was definitely the best. The tour was super well-organized, with a deep dive into the history of the Louisville shipping port, Eval Williams bourbon, and the Shapira brothers. Our tour guide, Dennis, was also incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. It was a great way to learn more about my hometown, and hearing it from someone so knowledgeable made it even more special. If you’re in Louisville and have an hour to spare in the downtown area, I highly recommend the Evan Williams bourbon experience. And if you happen to get Dennis as your tour guide, you’re in for a treat!

Louisville isn't just about the Bourbon; it's the people. Visiting from Seattle, I was continually struck by the warmth and genuine friendliness of everyone I met. While the whiskey is the main draw, the hospitality elevates the whole experience—a sentiment that was profoundly true for our tour at Evan Williams. We chose the Speakeasy Tasting Experience, and while many tours cover the history and process of making bourbon, this one was in a league of its own thanks to the fully immersive, in-character staff. The adventure starts downstairs when your guide selects a volunteer to approach a solid steel door. The secret password? You knock "with purpose" and tell the man inside you're "friends of Louie." Stepping inside is like walking straight into the 1920s. The speakeasy-style bar instantly sets the mood, and the "show" begins while you're served top-notch bourbon. I won't spoil the rest, but the acting and storytelling are phenomenal. Having been on over 40 distillery tours across Kentucky, I can confidently say this was, hands down, my favorite to date. If you're in downtown Louisville (LooaVul), this is a must-do. Just a heads-up: book your tickets ahead! We saw people turned away while waiting. For logistics, the gift shop is on the second floor, and the main bar is on the third. Cheers!

A very cool place to be! My husband and I stopped on fourth Street during our 30 year anniversary trip to Louisville. We had heard a lot about this place and wanted to check it out. The street is blocked off to cars so you’re able to simply walk through. It has an amazing open air feel with a clear roof so it feels that you are indoors when you’re actually out. The middle has a stage for live music and there’s a lot of restaurants and other entertainment that surrounds it. We did see some nice colorful murals, a piano that had been painted with a bright design and gorgeous flowers. We came earlier in the daytime so there wasn’t much going on, but we are excited to stop at a different time next time we visit. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! Credit and debit cards accepted. It seemed to attract a certain crowd…I am not sure I felt as comfortable as I’d like. There was police around for security.

Fun during the day and night. We stopped by during the day to get something to eat and have a couple of drinks. Guys was very good. When I was younger this is the place to party. Always a great time

Good place in town to visit, at night, if you like to drink in the street while listening a band is OK, weekends very crowded. Just Be careful it could be drugs and drunk people

This venue houses many restaurants and bars and has an open area for live music. I stopped by on a Saturday evening and DJ Hummingbird was spinning music and had the whole block moving.

Beautiful! There was a band, there are bars, and you can even ride a mechanic bull! Must be 21 to enter after a certain time and they card at entrances.

While I did have a blast, you're writer Elaine from four months back stands CORRECT. The staff at PDR had open seating roped off. Just last month. I noticed you replied to her saying seating was no issue. Perhaps you should slide in unannounced one weekend evening . Trust but fact check... They don't want to clean the areas so they rope them off and do not allow seating. That is a FACT , noted at both of my visits over the past month. I may try them one more time because the staff was nice, atmosphere was great and my friends live it.. when they're allowed to be seated. No biggie if we don't get to sit down. Whiskey Row is awesome too and may be better suited to a certain class of individuals that both enjoy and are willing to pay for a seated experience, even if VIP. Staff at PBR were professional and nice. Not enough to support your prices, nor the culture of the area PBR is located in. I think what I'm trying to relate to you is they didn't really seem to embrace the idea or goal of getting returning customers by providing a wonderful SEATED experience. There's nothing more frustrating than going into a restaurant bar or grill seeing many open tables. Much less seeing ropes in front of them. Forcing us to stand up and have our drinks. I am in my 40s, it's not like I have to sit down. I have a little bit of class and like to sit down to enjoy some of my $15 cocktails that I purchase at your establishment. No they do not let you sit at those tables consistently. As a matter of fact we were asked to get up from a table at 12:30 at night and was told that that section was closed it was not roped up. Several people had just exited the booth. Whiskey Row is pretty great, I would bear that in mind

The Louisville Palace Theatre is a grand, historic venue that opened in 1928 and continues to be a vibrant hub for live entertainment. Its opulent Baroque design, adorned with intricate plasterwork and ornate ceilings featuring over 140 carvings, creates an enchanting atmosphere. The theater hosts a diverse array of events including live music concerts, ballet performances, stand-up comedy shows, and movie screenings.
Went here for my first time tonight for a show. The venue is gorgeous, the staff was helpful, and of course the show is great. Can't wait to visit here again!

Great little theater. Seats in Loge level were comfortable and had a drink holder near floor level. Seemed to be well staffed at concessions. Short walk after show to 4th Street live where there's lots to do.

The Palace Theater is a beautiful venue, every seat offers a great view since it’s a smaller, more intimate space. While the seats aren’t the most comfortable or spacious, the overall atmosphere makes up for it. Unfortunately, our experience was dampened by an encounter with an overzealous security guard at the entrance. My wife had accidentally left a bottle of tea in her purse, and instead of a quick reminder or polite request, the guard went through every single item in her bag. It felt excessive, especially since it wasn’t contraband. Overall, it’s a lovely theater with great sightlines, but the entry experience could definitely be handled with more courtesy and common sense.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL space! Attended the 50th Anniveraary showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show and was left spellbound by the beauty and personality filling the Palace. I was there for the show, but I wish I'd spent more time wandering around and taking photographs of the incredible, artful place! Gorgeous!!

What a stunning building. The staff did a really good job going through your belongings to ensure safety (he took almost everything out of my purse which was odd and uncomfortable). He was really into it. Otherwise, it was lovely.
Tammy M — Google review
The venue definitely put a good amount of effort into its look, some time ago. It's definitely dated, with the roof having stains and paint falling off. I'm unsure what "style" their design is as it seems to want to be Italian and/or fantasy, yet a slight Chinese vibe as well. I went to a Stephen Wilson Jr concert here and the sound was quite awful. They have not invested in a proper sound system. The first 2.5 hours of the concert was uncomfortably hot, with many people around us complaining. Seats were comfortable. Plenty of bars. Water $6. Double cocktail $26. Bathrooms were clean. Staff didn't know how to make the cocktail specials. Ushers consistently sent people to the wrong seats, I believe we saw a total of 5 groups of people have to get up as they were sitting in the wrong place that an usher helped get them to. Overall, the operations management should be revisited and sound + lightning need a significant investment if plan to have a long term future in concept productions.

The KFC Yum! Center is a massive indoor arena located in downtown Louisville, serving as the stomping ground for the University of Louisville's Cardinals basketball team. With a seating capacity of 22,000, it hosts an array of events including big-name concerts featuring artists like Billie Eilish and Cher, family-friendly shows such as Disney on Ice, comedy performances by renowned comedians like Kevin Hart and Dave Chappelle, wrestling matches, and other special events.
Super easy to find. We arrived an hour early to make sure to have plenty of time. The Arena Garage was already few cars into the street but not terrible. For convenience I decided to use the Skywalker garage directly across from the Arena’s garage entry. It was a $20 fee but easy open with plenty of free parking spaces. I was able to park in the first row walk across the street and be at the entrance no problem. The building itself was a little strange to navigate not knowing the exact layout but it really just circles around. Employees were polite, building was clean and the show was awesome. I will say snack a souvenirs were definitely on the pricey side, With both a bag of popcorn and a bag of cotton candy being $18 a piece but each did come with a little souvenir of its own. In the end the prices didn’t matter the experience was well worth it and the tickets were very affordable.

I was here for the Kentucky vs Louisville basketball game. It was a lovely atmosphere, very clean, and well organized. The staff provided excellent help and services at each encounter. The beer was EXTREMELY over priced. As expected. Being a Kentucky fan, I can appreciate the egress methods and precautions taken to provide a safe and efficient experience for all fans. There were plenty of police and security in place to prevent any problems or chaos for such a huge rivalry game. I earned a free ticket from the student lottery, so although I had nose bleed seats it was a pleasurable experience. I have also been here for multiple concerts and absolutely love the yum center. I think it is a very professional, clean, top of the line atmosphere. The city of Louisville and the Yum center work very well together in collaboration for events that take place.

Copper & Kings is a trendy craft distillery located in Louisville's historic Butchertown neighborhood. The distillery offers tours of its modern and eco-friendly facility, followed by a tasting of their various spirits including brandy, gin, and absinthe. They are known for their commitment to producing high-quality fruit-based distillates without added sugar or synthetic flavoring. In addition to brandy, they also produce a range of gins and top-notch absinthe.
Copper & Kings sure seems like it’s come a ways. This was my first tour of a brandy distillery, and I was stoked to find that many of the apples they use come from my home state. The tour is fairly short but descriptive, and the barrel room smells wonderful. It’s pretty interesting how they’re using sound to try and circulate the aging brandy in those barrels. The staff was friendly and the tour guide was both entertaining and informative. The grounds are pretty and would make for a nice place to relax outside. They also have a Great Pyrenees dog who makes for an extra cuddly mascot; she’s very friendly. My tour was excellent, and we sampled several of their apple and grape brandies at the end. They seemed pretty generous with their sample pours, and their spirits certainly seem much better than they were some years ago. The tour is worthwhile for sure, and I ended up with a renewed respect for the place.

I want to start off ny recognizing Collin (our tour guide) and Snoop (his furry friend that joined us). They were both amazing, Snoop just chilled with us everywhere we went and Collin took great care of us! Copper & Kings is a much visit in Louisville. When a company known for its Brandy can make it in a town know for is Burbon that it saying something. The company was recently sold to a local (ish) gentlemen after being apart of a much larger chain (I won't split it to much). Their creativity and mastery in the craft is bar none. Did you know agitation in barrels could be performed with Metallica and Run DMC? Yep, you read thst odd sentence correct. C&K does not put their barrels on a ship and sail them around the world. The play a great playmix with huge speakers and amps at the barrels to achieve the same end result. The building was painstakingly resorted and coupled with the butterfly rescue courtyard area their place is beautiful. Don't miss out on this tour and tell Snoop and Collin we said the orange is wrong we agree and fingers up pew pew! You know if you know.

Awesome Brandy, gin and bourbon. I sat at the bar. The bartender (I forget her name but she was a redhead) was super friendly and knew so much about the liquors. She makes incredible drinks. There was hardly anyone there because of the fireworks cancellation, and her recommendations were spot on. The food was top notch. I had the pimento cheese dip with chips to start, fabulous. Perfect with the brandy flight. The scallops were cooked perfectly with delicious mushrooms and potatoes. Warm beignets capped off a delicious dinner. I'll be back

The Waverly Hills Sanatorium, a Gothic-style former hospital built in 1926, is now a popular destination for dark tourism. Once a cutting-edge tuberculosis treatment facility, it has been abandoned for over 50 years. With a haunting reputation and a history of nearly 63,000 deaths within its walls, it's considered one of the most haunted places globally.
My friends and I traveled from New Hampshire for a girls trip and the paranormal tour was top of our list. Jacob and Anthony were our guides and were so awesome. Jacob was wicked great at connecting with the group as well as the spirits. He was kind and respectful to the paranormal, which ain’t something you see very often. Jacob had a lot of really intriguing knowledge of the sanatorium and the tour was amazing. We did have some paranormal activity and even caught an apparition on one of our pictures! 10/10 would recommend the paranormal tour! Thank you to Jacob and Anthony for a night of history and the paranormal!

We went on a 10:00 p.m. paranormal tour and had a great experience! Our tour guide (Jason) was super knowledgeable about the property and had lots of interesting stories to share. We didn’t experience anything “paranormal” but really enjoyed learning about the history of the building and the people housed there. We definitely want to come back, maybe for one of the historical tours during the day! I don’t think this is clearly communicated on the website, but we went in August, and it was HOT. Only one small area of the building is air conditioned, and the rest of the time you are in sweltering areas with no air flow. Dress lightly and bring a bottle of water if you go in the summer!

We went to visit the haunted house event and it was amazing! We paid for the VIP experience and got to explore some of the building before the haunted house. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. After exploring the building we went to the haunted house. The actors were great and interacted with you. House was huge felt like it went on forever! We took the family out to Waverly Hills. I wasn't sure what to expect, maybe a boring 2-hour tour of the place. No - rather it was actually pretty fun and exciting for those who love haunted houses. Many dark, creepy rooms to navigate through as a group, close-quarter areas with dense fog, and a healthy mixture of jump scares and laughter along the way. I recommend it for first time haunted house go-ers. Also, the event is mildly safe for children around 13y.o. Remember to arrive as early as you can, because the line stacks up fast.

Louisville Slugger Field is the home of the Louisville Bats, a Triple-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. The modern stadium, built in 2000, offers ample lawn and bleacher space for fans to relax while enjoying peanuts and Cracker Jacks. It also features interactive elements for kids, photo opportunities, and a full-service brewpub. Throughout the season, there are special promotions including designated Dog Days where fans can bring their dogs along to support the Kentucky Humane Society.
I had such a great time watching the Bats play! The entire park is fantastic and the entertainment between innings was very enjoyable! I recommend visiting this park!

My son and a classmate and I saw the Bats play yesterday and had an awesome experience. Slugger Field was glorious, the weather was sunny, and we saw some great baseball. I also got OUTSTANDING customer service from the Ticket Office at the ballpark...especially PAYTON, a member of the club's staff. These are some of the reasons I've been a Bats fan for years...and heartily recommend it as a wonderful place to enjoy a ballgame!

Great field! The Bats are a good team and they play good ball. I have been to several games at Coors Field and this stadium works just as well.

We walked around the back of the field and interior of the complex prior to visiting the team store. We visited after the close of the season so had no chance to see a game. The attendant at the team store was in the stockroom at the time of our visit. This was noted on the door so it was no problem finding them. They were very patient with us while we looked around the store and shared many stories with my wife. We were visiting from Cincinnati and wanted to get some things from the Reds AAA affiliate. It was very cool to see the pictures of the former players back when they first started out.

We have been attending bats games for years and have always enjoyed our experience while at slugger field. This year, I called in advanced to get clarity on purchasing senior tickets. I was advised that we could purchase tickets on game day for the senior price. However, when we were purchasing our tickets on game day we were denied the discount. We were told that the tickets must be purchased by midnight the day before a game to get the discount. Which is very inconvenient. Once inside, we noticed the stadium is starting to look a bit ragged. The paint on the seats are chipped and the cup holders rusted out. The bathrooms are dirty and smelly. The concession prices had gone up 50% from last season. Crazy to pay $7.25 for a warm hotdog. One positive note, there are no long lines at the concession stands. Needless to say, we won’t be attending anymore bats games and from the looks of the empty seats we aren’t the only ones leaving. Good luck Bats.

This is a very exciting team to watch right now. McLain, De La Cruz and Encarnacion-Strand all have major league talent. They are explosive and can score a lot of runs. A group of us friends went on the bourbon trail and decided to go with Kentucky Bourbon Tours. Nicole was awesome and getting us setup with some really fun stops. Mike, our limo driver was also wonderful with everything he did to make our time traveling around exceptional. Definitely going back next year and will definitely be using this company again!

I gave 2 stars because we did receive a partial refund but the ENTIRE day was a disaster. The driver was late picking us up, on the way to the 1st distillery, he ran over at least 5 things, little did we know, he blew out a tire but didn’t tell us. We waited an hour for him to arrive back at the distillery only for him to tell us there was a flat and they were sending a sprinter van - we had booked a limo. The drivers were arguing in front of us, we missed our 2nd stop, he suggested we eat in the sprinter van - there were 10 of us, we said absolutely not. He started running out of gas, his card was declined, he took us to another gas station to try again… this went on all day. I could go on and on about how unprofessional the day was. It was my 40th birthday and honestly, this day just sucked. Would not recommend trusting this company if something goes wrong bc they don’t have contingency plans in place.

If I could make my review zero stars, I would. I booked a limo for my husband’s birthday at 10 am to take us to a bourbon tasting and a lunch in Bardstown , KY. I received a confirmation email on the day of the booking and a reminder email the day prior to the trip. I paid 50% on the day of the booking. At ten am the day of the trip, the car did not show up. I had guests at my house that were joining us. I was so embarrassed that the car did not show up. I called to inquire . The person over the phone was clueless. Not only he did not know where the car was, he could not tell me for over 20 minutes if we could get a car. We were on a tight timeline due to our bourbon tasting time. Finally , one hour later a bus shows up. I had paid for a limousine with circular seating, not for a bus. They had snacks in a messy box . The seats were extremely uncomfortable and did not recline. The bus was very loud and it was not conducive to conversation or to having a good time. The company did not skip a beat to charge me the second 50% on the day of the trip. I called multiple times asking for compensation for the one hour delay and for not getting the car we paid for and could never talk to anyone past the front person. I have never written a review but this interaction was beyond catastrophic. I would never recommend this company and I don’t want someone else to make the same mistake I did. Trip was on October 16,2022

Kentucky Peerless Distilling Co has been crafting whiskey since the 1880s and now offers tours of its urban warehouse distillery, providing a glimpse into the production of bourbon and rye. Situated in close proximity to other renowned distilleries, it forms part of Louisville's burgeoning whiskey scene. Visitors can embark on a day-long exploration, moving from one distillery to another without needing a designated driver.
🥃 Kentucky Peerless Distilling Co. – Small Batch, Big Character ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you're looking for craft bourbon at its purest, then Kentucky Peerless in downtown Louisville is an absolute must-visit. This distillery may not have centuries of continuous operation, but what it does have is history reborn with heart. The family legacy dates back to the 1880s, and today the great-grandson of the original founder continues that vision in a way that blends tradition and innovation beautifully. Everything happens under one roof – milling, mashing, fermenting, distilling, aging, bottling – all done in small batches, with extreme attention to detail. The tour is incredibly well presented, guiding you through not just the process, but also the story behind the name. You can feel the pride and purpose in every corner of the building. We had our tasting right inside the distillery bar, which is cozy and classy. The gift shop is also worth a look – well-curated, with premium bottles and unique merchandise. What sets Peerless apart? Their bourbon and rye whiskeys are all non-chill filtered and bottled at barrel proof – meaning you taste them exactly as they come out of the barrel, with no watering down, no filtering. The result? Rich, bold, aromatic whiskeys that are full of depth and character. Yes, the price is higher – but so is the quality. Whether you're a seasoned bourbon enthusiast or just beginning your journey, Peerless delivers an experience and a product that feel truly handcrafted – because they are.

We had a great experience at Peerless. Its a little out of the way but still easily accessible in Louisville, a couple blocks ftom Michters and an easy walk. The visitor center is nicely decorated with a good array of merchandise for sale including some specialty bottles only available there. We picked up quite a few. We were there for the tour and a tasting. Interesting history. After the tour we went into the tasting room which is nicely decorated. We got to try maybe 4 samples, I can't recall. Corky happened to be there and came in to say Hi which was so nice. That doesn't happen many places. We really enjoy Peerless bourbon and enjoyed the experience.

OMG we love this place. In all honesty I wasn't a huge fan but we went last year and they totally turned me into an advocate. Our most recent trip was just as great. The history and vibe of the building is worth the visit alone. Add in the people and the whiskey, that's a pretty solid recipe. Their single barrels are absolutely fantastic and worth a try. I love their rye. Grab a tour, it will totally be worth it. At a minimum, stop in and grab a bottle. They have a really nice gift shop. This is at the end of whiskey row. You can easily walk it. We walked there and then grabbed an Uber on the way back so we didn't have to lug 5 bottles back.

We jumped off the plane and our first stop had to be Peerless as I have always wanted to go here. The staff were incredible, the Bourbon and selections were out of this world. I must say that the best part was meeting Corky the owner and him signing a bottle for me. Thank you so much for not only signing the bottle but sharing some personal stories with us. If you ever need a "Colorado Peerless Ambassador" I am up to the job!!! Thanks for making it an experience to remember.

I visited 7 distilleries/tasting rooms during my two-day visit to Louisville. Peerless was disappointing. If you don't do a tour, you can have a sample or pour except on the half hour. We decided to wait around 20 minutes to try a couple. Each one oz sample was $8, and the two of us were in a private room with an employee who poured the bourbon. There was no discussion about the bourbon or distillery. Furthermore, I know two of the bottles they were selling at the distillery, I can buy locally in SC for $15 less.

Enjoyed a tasting hosted by Bill, Sr and it was a great experience! Learned about the history of the distillery and was really happy with the selection of whiskey that we were able to try. One of our favorite experiences while on our bourbon tour in Louisville!

Awesome tour. Christine was an outstanding tour guide. Tour provided an abbreviated history spiced with a little bit of science, a taste and explanation of distillate by one of the distillers, and ended with some wonderful tastings. I’ll definitely be keeping Peerless in my bar.

Highly recommend this tour located in downtown Louisville. The tour guide was knowledgeable, polite and entertaining. The tour went above and beyond my expectations. It started out a little long winded but that’s expected when you tell family history.

Old Forester Distilling Co. offers educational tours on bourbon fermentation, distilling, and barrel-making, along with tastings and a gift shop. Located in the heart of Louisville's Whiskey Row, it is surrounded by other renowned distilleries such as Angels Envy, Rabbit Hole, Michters Fort Nelson, and Evan Williams Bourbon Experience. The area also hosts storefronts/visitor centers for well-known brands like Castle & Key and Bardstown Bourbon Company.
My wife and I visited the Old Forester Distillery in Louisville, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the tour itself was top-notch. The gentleman who led our group was incredible—knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the craft. The tasting was both elegant and informative, giving us a real appreciation for the different expressions of Old Forester. We capped things off with a stop at the gift shop, where we picked up a bottle of their single barrel, barrel strength bourbon—a perfect souvenir to remember the visit. Highly recommend this distillery to anyone visiting Louisville. Whether you’re a bourbon enthusiast or just curious, Old Forester delivers an unforgettable experience.

Good experience. The gift shop was great and the tour was, well, a tour. I was excited to see the home of one of my favorite bourbon but I left wishing I had more of an up-close experience on the tour. It's more friendly to families and I suppose a "safer" tour than some of the ones that take you right into the process rooms, but thats what I was looking for. All in all im glad I went!
Chris C — Google review
We had a great time on the tour. The guide was great! Lots to see, lots of history and the barrel making and charring of the barrel was very cool to see! The tasting experience was also great! We will come back again with family and friends.

It was a great experience. I definitely recommend the full tour. The docents were very open, knowledgeable, and engaging. The tour itself was interesting with just the right blend of past and present. The highlight of our tour was the barrel-making process. The tasting itself was great, with a nice selection, and at no point was I rushed. I hope to revisit when in Kentucky again!

Wonderful tour and tasting. It was great to hear about the history behind Old Forester and the making of bourbon. The tour was first rate (although I don’t have any experiences with other bourbon tours yet) and our guide, Bob, was first—rate.

It was honestly one of the better distillery experiences during our honeymoon. They didn't actually have any openings for their tour when we were scheduled to be in town but, I emailed them and told them about our honeymoon and they booked us a tour right away! The distillery did not feel overly crowded, every single employee was beyond helpful + kind and the tour itself was informative and interactive. They even let us char a barell in celebration of our honeymoon. Highly recommend this distillery over others in that area. My only complaint is that they didn't offer better bottles for sale in the gift shop. My husband related it to being a gracious host. When someone comes all that way to visit your home, you generally "roll out the red carpet". While that was certainly the case in every other area of Old Forester, it wasn't really the case on the side of sales and we even found that some exclusive bottles offered there were cheaper at liquor stores up the road. All in all a wonderful experience that we would try again. 🫶🥃

We visited for the Goodness Never Varies tour and it didn't disappoint. Our tour guide was very informative and kept everyone interested. Even my wife who isn't a bourbon person enjoyed both the tour and tasting. Our tasting includes the Series 117 Extra Extra Old 1910, Birthday Bourbon, 1924, and The President's Choice.

The Parklands of Floyds Fork is a sprawling green space that stretches along the Floyds Fork river in eastern Louisville, offering nearly 20 miles of scenic beauty and relaxation.
I had the best time at parklands today!! The louisville loop is a beautiful trail to walk there are so many tress with beautiful flowers and natural nature beauty. The restrooms are VERY clean and maintained. My favorite part of going today was climbing to the top of the climbing silo (it was stairs) and looking at the beautiful view of the park. The picnic area is super spacious and has beautiful scenery around it and was the perfect place for out bookclub field trip today! I will definitely be visiting this park again this summer on my own time!

We only had time to ride a 6 mile section in the middle, but The Louisville Loop is THE BEST BIKE PATH IN THE WORLD. I would give it 50 stars if I could. It is excessively wide, wonderfully smooth, and comes with many cool bridges over the scenic river. And best of all, it felt like I was riding downhill, BOTH ways! 😆
Mike B — Google review
Rode my bicycle through 4 of the 5 parks connected by the Louisville Loop. I was worried it might be noisy and big city sights. I was pleasantly proved wrong. This was a beautiful ride through the parks. The trail is well marked, with numerous trailheads to access the trail. Cyclists, hikers, walkers were all using the trail. Plenty of CLEAN, well maintained bathrooms at the trailheads. Make sure to stop and read about the history of the area at the Trailheads.

What a beautiful park! There are great open spaces, access to trails and natural areas, and a dog park. There are parking lots spaced throughout, making it convenient to get in and get to relaxing quickly. There is a HUGE open lawn with a trail around it. It's perfect for just about anything from laying out, playing catch, flying kites, having a picnic, and so much more. There's sooooooo much room. If you like having wife open spaces and access to some other park amenities, the Parklands is perfect.

Huge, beautiful park with miles of paved and unpaved trails. Great place for social distancing with numerous creek access points, bike riding, walking, jogging, canoeing/kayacking, fishing ... Take your fur baby for a walk then have a picnic!

While Beckley Creek and Pope Lick Parks are beautiful, Turkey Run Park and especially Broad Run arem more of what many of us go to a park for. Peace and tranquility. They all have great hiking and biking trails but those two are the best. BC and BR both have spraygrounds and playgrounds so that is sure to please the little visitors. They all open at sunrise and close at sundown. The Parklands website is a fountain of info on what they have to offer. As well as the few rules they have.

This park has a great bicycle and mountain bike trail system. Also good for just about anything else recreational Outdoors. Floyds Fork is a beautiful Creek that can be paddled in the spring and after heavy rains in the summer. This park is an absolute gem in Louisville Kentucky. I truly would like to thank city of Louisville for putting these 5 parks together.

Nestled near the vibrant downtown waterfront, The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts stands as a cultural beacon in Louisville, KY. This expansive venue is dedicated to showcasing an array of artistic expressions through its educational programs and diverse performances that include music, dance, and theater.
I had the privilege of seeing The Thorn at the Kentucky Center for the Arts, and it was nothing short of breathtaking. The performance blended powerful storytelling, stunning choreography, and immersive visuals in a way that made Scripture and history feel alive on stage. The opening scenes transported us straight into Rome’s Colosseum—capturing the raw intensity of power and control, and reminding us how people were once used as pawns in the games of empires. From there, the production moved seamlessly into a spiritual battle of angels and demons that left the entire audience captivated. What impressed me most was how The Thorn balances art, faith, and emotion. It wasn’t just a play—it was an experience. The dancers, acrobats, and actors brought a raw, physical dimension to the story of Christ’s sacrifice and redemption. At moments, it felt like heaven and earth collided right there in the theater. The Kentucky Center itself provided the perfect setting—comfortable seating, excellent acoustics, and a staff that was both friendly and professional. If you ever have the chance to see The Thorn here, don’t hesitate. It’s more than a show—it’s a reminder of the greatest story ever told, and you’ll walk away deeply moved.

A beautiful, large venue to see a show in! I’ve only ever performed on the smaller stage, but it is very lovely and well-maintained, and the crew/employees working behind the scenes are intelligent, helpful, and kind! I’ve seen shows in the larger theater and it was a stunning experience! The design is beautiful and the staff, again, are so helpful and fun to chat with. I also had a sandwich from the cafe on the first floor before the show, and it was very yummy!! I highly enjoyed seeing a show here, and I definitely recommend it!!

We have seen several shows and concerts in this venue. It's a beautiful space, and from what I can tell there are no bad seats here.
Kevin H — Google review
Please pay mind to the cheaper seats are high up and yes a distance away. We seen Morgan Freeman with the Louisville orchestra which was awesome. But Morgan Freeman was only apart of the jazz history program for less than 10 minutes and he had a hat on and we were in the nose bleed section. What is disappointment the program was. But we would definitely go back to see a little more orchestra again they were awesome 💯
Valerie B — Google review
Older staff somehow didn't have a clue where one of the two active theaters were. Had to ask three different employees where to go (showed them my ticket each time) and missed the first few minutes of our show since they kept pointing us in the wrong direction. Would be nice if the theaters had better signage instead of having us rely on the clueless staff.
Devin B — Google review
We went to the Herb Alpert concert there on July 21. Other than getting gouged to pay $15 to park in their parking lot, the experience was five star all the way. Everyone inside the facility was just as helpful and as friendly as they could be. We were taken to our seats by a very friendly lady. The room, the sound, the seating, everything about the Bomhard Theater was just spectacular. I would highly recommend this place for any event or concert and would not hesitate to go back for something else down the road.
Jeff G — Google review
My family attended a musical during the weekend, midday in the summer. We were pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to access the building and how nice the facilities were. I did my research ahead of time and found out that admission does not include parking. This is correct; however, the attached parking garage did have event parking for a flat $15. We arrived 45 minutes before the event started and there was barely any line. After the event ended, it took us about 30 minutes to leave from the second level. The building interior was modern, clean, and had good AC. The bathroom was large and nice with multiple entrances. The building also included two spots for concessions, an indoor seating area, and souvenir area. There was a second story for access to the balcony and box seats and main story for everyone else. The only complaint I could field was that the seats were a bit small for tall people or heavier set people. The seats are close together, shoulder to shoulder wise. All in all a very clean, well organized, and well orchestrated event at a nice facility. I would definitely come back for another show or event.

Rabbit Hole Distillery is a contemporary bourbon maker located in the heart of Nulu, Louisville's vibrant hub for art, food, and culture. Founded by Kaveh Zamanian after falling in love with bourbon through his wife, the distillery offers guided tours and tastings in a stylish industrial-chic facility.
I was seeking new experiences, and I found myself at a relatively new bourbon distillery. The tour was thoughtfully designed, featuring mini areas that offer a glimpse into the fascinating distillation process. We were fortunate to visit on a day when they were actually distilling—loading barrels, processing, and bottling right before our eyes. The distillery has two bars: one upstairs where they craft drinks and another downstairs filled with wonderful memorabilia. While the downstairs bar offers quick, pre-made drinks, I truly recommend heading upstairs. The view is lovely, and the atmosphere at the real bar is just wonderful. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely encourage others to take the tour. It's a delightful journey worth exploring!

Excellent bar on the 3rd floor overlooking the city. The bartender was great, very friendly even though she was in the weeds. The best selection of limited release whiskey I have seen on the bourbon trail. They also had a cocktail flight that my wife loved.

I appreciated the detailed tour! I had a lovely time and would definitely be back! I learned how to drink bourbon and now I feel ready for next time. Highly recommend got a modern distillery experience! (Their cocktail bar/bar upstairs was great)

A wonderful tour! The boxergrail has always been my favorite (the boxergrail single barrel is absolutely a must). Don’t skip the cocktails at the bar upstairs! The gimlet is one of the best cocktails I have ever had. This is such a fun, tasty, and exciting tour

This was our second visit to the distillery in 2 years. We really enjoy the atmosphere...the bar on the 3rd floor and outside seating is very relaxing. We sampled 3 of their limited series bourbons and despite liking them all, purchased one. If in Louisville, I wouldn't miss this one.

Rabbit Hole was the first of four distilleries we visited while in Louisville. We really enjoyed the tour - it was informative and interactive. The curated bourbons we tried were very tasty and we enjoyed being able to try them in a group in one of the private rooms. Definitely recommend visiting!
Rachael M — Google review
I had just finished at Old Forester Distillery so my expectations were set, so take this as you will. The entire wonderful tour there was $33 which ended with 4 tasters of, in my opinion, way better whiskey. Rabbit Hole charged me $36 for two tasters. These are what you get to decide if you want to buy there bottles. I was over at a whiskey bar, NEAT, the night before where they specialize in curated whiskeys and had the same amount of whiskey from a 1972 bottle and a 1991 bottle with the tab coming in at $30. They were not trying to sell me bottles that was an experience. Rabbit Hole has missed the mark. I liked their whiskey before visiting their distillery. Don’t go if you like the product you will not be happy.

Kentucky Kingdom Theme & Water Park is a seasonal amusement and water park located in Louisville, KY. During the day, visitors can enjoy a variety of thrill rides and children's attractions, as well as waterslides and wave pools at Hurricane Bay Water Park. As night falls, the park comes alive with vibrant entertainment, illuminated roller coasters, evening shows, and delicious park treats.
We were visiting Louisville from Florida with our two kiddos (5&8yo). One of the reasons we choose places to visit is for their amusement parks. This park was not the reason we chose to visit Louisville but we are sure glad that we visited. It's not a park we would ever visit again but it was definitely worth it while we were there. Kentucky Kingdom is a great size park with a good number of rides both for big and small kiddos. The park was not busy at all. I think maybe we waited most 5 minutes for a ride. I love how they have rides strategically placed close to the roller coasters so I could take my 5yo on those while my husband took our 8yo on the bigger ride. Because the park opened at 11am we are a large late breakfast/early lunch so we didn't have to eat at the park. We got a quick snack while we were there and ate dinner once we left the park at 7pm. The park was clean and the staff was friendly. I would recommend this to anyone visiting the Louisville area.
Corinne B — Google review
This is a phenomenal park for both young and old. The absolute best part is if you come on a weekday the waits are just minutes. At Disney you can literally spend your whole day waiting on 2-4 rides- here you can spend your whole day riding! Sure it’s no Disney- but what’s the value of actually enjoying your trip?? We had just a wonderful time. Spent two days, one mostly riding and the other mostly in the water. One of the more amazing things to me was the food- it was actually good by park standards and you can get totally full for $15 each. Most meals are exactly that $14.99. A lot of the local hotels offer a free shuttle to the park as well. If you’re within 2 hours of this park- you’re just not going to be able to beat it for the price, wait times and number of rides. Have fun!!!
M S — Google review
The food was expensive, and menus were limited. Customer service while buying my season passes was extremely poor. The benefits and discounts were pretty good and definitely worth it. Hurricane Bay is definitely a great place to spend your summer cooling off and enjoying the sun at the same time. First aid stations are available throughout the amusement park. There's live bands and events happening at different times as well. Overall, the experience was great.
June G — Google review
Kentucky Kingdom has it all. Thrill rides, family rides, and kid rides. There are shows to enjoy, games to play, and they even have a 5D movie experience. Hurricane Bay has plenty of chairs and lifeguards all around making sure everyone is safe. There are a ton of fun twisty and curvy slides. Then there is the scary slides for those that want a thrilling ride. They have a wave pool and a lazy river. There’s food and drinks through out the park, gift shops, restrooms and changing areas. The vendors will give you free water. There are lockers to rent to keep your items safe. The staff were so friendly and up beat. It was so much fun. We were there for 6 hours and didn’t have time to do it all!! The lines weren’t bad at all either.

We had such a wonderful time! It was incredibly hot but the wave pool and lazy river were perfect for cooling off. We rode the same roller coaster 3 times in a row! Some of the staff were super friendly and helpful.

This theme park is extremely nice! We were there today on a busy Saturday and it was still quite nice and the lines weren't very long. They keep the place clean and family-friendly which is absolutely wonderful for a nice change. It's great to not have chaos and cigarette smoke.

Spent a weekend here i highly recommend for family vacation as I have 3 little ones (2,5,7) and they loved it all! It has a couple different water places for children to play and swim around! The staff was so nice and accommodating! Would definitely go back!
Amber D — Google review
This is a smaller amusement park. It has a nice amount of rides and a decent amount of rollercoasters especially considering the compact size of the park. Overall the park appeared to be clean and well kept . My favorite ride there personally was Wind Chaser ( formally Storm Chaser) . My biggest complaints would be the lack of merchandise specific to rides t-shirts and such , or maybe I just didn't see them . Also the employees or at least the ones I interacted with, they just didn't seem like they wanted to be there / didn't enjoy their job/ lacked any enthusiasm... It's possible it was just really early in the day idk. Overall not a bad park and the recently updated area was really nice.

The place is renowned for its high-quality locally roasted Good Folks coffee and specialty drinks like Butterscotch Latte and Ganache Latte. Visitors can't miss out on the incredible chocolate chip cookies packed with buttery goodness.
It's a really cool coffee shop, that has some of the most delicious sweets around. We tried the Rice krispie treats and the chocolate chip cookies. The chocolate chip cookies really were some of the best we have ever had. They have some place to sit, with a jukebox. We had time and space to sit and enjoy our food.

Not sure if it's the best cookie out there, but it's definitely dang good. We ordered a few different cookies and a coffee to enjoy while walking around the neighborhood. The staff is super friendly, and the atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect from a great coffee shop—warm, inviting, and relaxed.
Andrew M — Google review
We had the chocolate chip cookie and the oatmeal cream pie. The chocolate chip was good but I personally prefer mine crispy, these were on the chewy side. The oatmeal cream pie was good but very sweet. The coffees were okay but not worth the price. The service initially was fine but the female working last Saturday decided to blast the music while everyone was talking. There were multiple tables with families and couples at them all chatting away and she just walked over and blasts punk music from the juke box. Not sure if she wanted everyone out because they closed in an hour or not but we felt it was very rude and we will not be going back.
Mark W — Google review
During my visit, I sampled the oatmeal pie and peanut butter pie. The cookie dough exhibited a soft and moist texture, making them highly recommendable. However, the beverages were less impressive. The Thai coffee, for instance, was unsatisfactory, resembling an Americano latte with an unpleasant taste. The matcha, however, was acceptable.

I enjoyed a latte and a cookie here while waiting for an appointment elsewhere. The coffee was smooth and bright, and the chocolate chip cookie had that perfect balance of saltiness and sweetness that the best cookies have. The staff was quick and professional, and the interior was comfortable. I think this is a very nice coffee shop, and the excellent cookies are a big plus.

I love this neighborhood spot! We stopped here every time we were in Louisville in this walkable neighborhood. The ice green tea is a must as well as a chocolate chip cookie. Also, does the name get any better?

Gralehaus is a charming and eclectic cafe located in an old Victorian home, offering a unique focus on craft beer, coffee, and seasonal breakfast and lunch. The cafe has quickly gained popularity since its establishment earlier this year. It shares a beer garden with the adjacent Holy Grale pub and restaurant. Chef Andy Myers creates traditional regional dishes like lamb sausage and grits alongside inventive crepes such as duck confit with goat cheese, orange, and pickled pear.
Stumbled upon this place while visiting from out of town, and unfortunately it’s my new favorite brunch spot full stop. The food was amazing, staff were friendly, and the coffee was quality (and I’m a coffee snob)! I was loving the comfortable and thoughtfully curated ambiance - the seating area was somewhat small but that made it feel fun and lively - though that also means it might be tough to visit with a larger group size. We liked it so much we came back the next day! A must visit next time I’m in the area.

Was in Louisville for the weekend and had Gralehaus bookmarked so decided to check it out. There was already a lineup when I got there which was a few minutes before it opened. It was busy inside but the decor was cute and cozy. They also had outdoor seating but it was a bit chilly for outside. Staff was really nice and friendly. I had to wait a bit for the food to come out and it was a good portion size for the price. It tasted fresh. I had leftovers too. Overall, not a bad spot but not sure if I would wait (good thing I wasn't that hungry yet!)

An absolutely delicious meal, start to finish. The atmosphere was fun and eclectic, the staff were delightful and friendly. But the food was the star. We had the biscuit and gravy and the “best damn” coffee cake with an egg and bacon. Delicious! To drink we had an iced Honey Bee Latte and an iced Jasmine Peach Americano.

Amazing breakfast. Best food I had in Louisville. Get the mushroom Grits. It sounds scary but it’s just incredible. I didn’t like that you have to order at the counter, we sat there for a while before someone told us.

The breakfast in this place is great! We both really loved it. We got the breakfast sandwich and strawberry French toast both were awesome. It’s built in an 1800s house with a Bed and Breakfast attached. It felt like a pit stop for world travelers and business-persons alike. The atmosphere is very nice, and cozy, warm and inviting. My biggest take away was that the people working there seem to really care about what they put on a plate. I watched the chef meticulously put an egg on an order to make just perfect. The only con: Little pricey, but I can’t blame you. My experience was fantastic

Wanted to make a brunch stop here in Kentucky before our 4 hour drive to St Louis. Was recommended another place serving exclusively biscuits and gravy but glad we went here. My mom absolutely loved the cheeseburger, I loved the frittata and egg grains bowl (for a little bit of balance!). My dad and sister shared the biscuit sandwich 🥪 which was divine to them. As for drinks, ordered the ginger matcha latte and the seasonal drink coconut matcha latte. We LOVED the iced ginger matcha latte, order it (that’s a command, not a suggestion).

Start by saying this was a Food network Highlighted Restaurant not sure why it was..to me this place doesn't live up to the hype! We ordered 3 dishes veggie hash,Lamb Grits and Biscuits and Duck Gravy. The one that stood out to me the most in flavor was the biscuits and gravy. The lam grits was straight up nasty from the flavor to texture of the dish the lamb is a ground patty meat weird Man! The service was garbage! There seating system is most Ridiculous thing ever... I'll say one cool thing they do have is kombucha on tap I thought that was pretty cool. Can't see my self coming back here.

Beautiful museum and wonderful art. First floor had a gift shop/coffee shop and a creativity center for the children. The second floor had a continuation of the dresses from the first floor. The third floor had canvases if beautiful art work with a local artists working on a master piece. Very friendly, clean, and amazing place.

I ordered the Belly Buster, definitely a solid option, very well elaborated, good flavor and excellent presentation. was my first time at the place and honestly no complaints at all, te service was great, all the workers are very friendly and open to help you in case that you needed. PD, the place is gorgeous, the design of the store is perfect, colors, furniture, lighting, everything on the space looks nice. Congrats!

Its cheap and the gift shop area is really cool. Good cappuccinos here too. The viewing rooms are somewhat odd. One room had a tiny bit of history on Louisville parks. The other was an expensive ikea type area. They get 4 stars though because its cheap to visit. The front reception area persons are really nice. Clean bathrooms, cool shop area trinkets and the cappuchanchans are top notch.

I walked in. They act like I was invisible and spoke to the person behind me. I had to get their attention to ask about a piece of art. Not friendly I was totally ignored. I won’t spend money in a place that refuses to recognize me even as a customer.

I absolutely loved KMAC. I wish I could go back! My friends and I were out-of-towners visiting from up north for a conference in the city, and this museum was one of the only places we could find open on a Sunday before flying out. I'm so glad we found it. The ultimate museum aesthetic and feel- so warm and cozy and friendly. All the art was, of course, beautiful and thought-provoking. Even the coffee was absolutely delicious and made on the spot. My friends and I stayed here for a good while just chatting and hanging out in the lobby after viewing the pieces. The employees on the ground floor were highly knowledgeable and so kind and relaxed. They made us feel welcomed and comfortable. You could tell right away that they absolutely were passionate about the arts. On top of all this, admission was free! I still keep my pamphlets and stickers that I got here, and if I ever come back to Louisville I will 100% stop by. I'm sure my friends would say the same.

OMG what a great piece of history that has been saved that is so well maintained and ran. The director is such a sweet lady, and she gave a great tour to our group. She is very knowledgeable - it makes you want to learn more!

A friend and I visited on 3/29. It's a small museum but definitely recommend it. Our tour guide was fantastic. He had so much energy and we could tell he cared about the content. It was great learning about Edison and seeing some of his inventions in addition to the light bulb. The tour was well worth the visit!

Excellent place to visit if you are interested in Thomas Edison and his many inventions. An informative docent guides you and even plays music on several phonographs as he demonstrates their workings. Edison lived here a short time when he was 19, working as a telegrapher until he was fired. Come visit to learn the full story.

This was an amazing place to visit. The guide was so kind and so knowledgeable. There are so many of Edison's inventions here to see and it was amazing to be able to touch a few things, hear some of them work and just hear the stories the guide had to share. A stop we absolutely recommend making!

Cool but not that cool. They have a ton of information about the legend but he only lived here (rented) in one of the bedrooms for a very short time. So it’s not really or was it ever his house.

With an indoor space designed for optimal sound and a capacity of about 400 people, Gravely Brewing Co. offers an unforgettable music experience. But that's not all – Gravely Brewing Co.
Been to quite a few brewery’s in my days and this one has stood out. It has a lot of cool little features that makes for a good brewery. First the beers were great! The lagers were so good. Flights offered. The atmosphere is amazing. Plenty of seating in several different areas that offer several different experience. The highlight was the short walk upstairs outside to give you a nice view of the city. Service was amazing. Food was really good too. Elote, nachos and pastelitos were tasty! Good amount of parking for you to pull into. Plenty of good things to pass up a visit!

We recently hosted an event here with The Beauty Boost, and Gravely Brewing Co. was the perfect spot! The space has such a fun, welcoming vibe and plenty of room for people to gather, connect, and enjoy themselves. The staff was incredibly accommodating and easy to work with, making the planning process smooth and stress-free. Our guests loved the atmosphere, and the nachos were a huge hit. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue and are so grateful to Gravely for helping us create such a memorable experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking to host an event or just enjoy a great night out!

Super cool place that also has really great beer. I found the place right around last call but the guys were super cool and let me get a couple half pours while they were cleaning up. They have a photo booth inside one of the rooms which is something I've not seen before and thought was such a great feature for a brewery. They also have a food truck permanently on site as well as an outdoor deck and above that a rooftop deck with a gorgeous view of Louisville. I would make sure you put this on your must see breweries in Kentucky.

Whitehall, a historic mansion and garden located in Louisville, Kentucky, is a picturesque venue with a rich history dating back to the 19th century. The Italianate style house and its surrounding gardens offer an enchanting setting for weddings and leisurely strolls. The property's lush outdoor space is ideal for elegant ceremonies amidst blooming flowers and verdant greens. Additionally, the illuminated mansion creates a captivating night-time experience, while the landscaped gardens provide serene pathways for moonlit walks.
This is a beautiful historic, home and gardens along as an event venue. The home is wonderful very beautiful. The grounds contain gardens that have numerous flowers and plants blooming all throughout them. It is just lovely. The grounds are very well-maintained. We were there for a wedding event that was outdoors and everything was spectacular. All the help the venue, the whole 9 yards it was such a wonderful event. Highly recommend renting the space.

Nice venue, especially for weddings. Would look even nicer if some of the areas were power washed and the vines trimmed for outdoor weddings in the courtyard. Parking was full and not sure where any more cars would have gone if more attendees. Easy to find off Lexington Rd.

In addition, the photos of weddings at Whitehall are always top-notch. The gardens are a lovely spot for weddings.

Love this place so much. Frequently visit just to roam around outside, especially as the seasons change and especially when the peonies are blooming in the garden in spring. It’s beautiful! And the grounds are kept up very well.

From a professional wedding photographers perspective, Whitehall is the perfect venue. The garden area is absolutely gorgeous for a ceremony. The fact that the couple can get ready, get married and have the reception all at the same venue makes it easier for the couple and their guests. Not to mention, the entire grounds is filled with beautiful flowers and trees. (A photographers dream!) The indoors is stunning too, with plenty of options for photos in the case that there is a rainy-day wedding. From my experience, the staff was very kind as well. 5/5 for me!

Great place to go for relaxing time. They have something for just about everyone, a playground for the kiddos, small outdoor gym for adults, tennis courts soccer fields, a 1 mile gravel walking loop, a 1.25 mile trail to hike that is absolutely gorgeous, archery targets, and an okay pool for the hotter days. I would say try to avoid the trails shortly after a rain due to how muddy they can get, but if you can handle the mud, the creek is an absolute delight to listen to from the trail

Nestled in one of the oldest areas of Louisville, the Waterfront Botanical Gardens has transformed from a former dumpsite into a stunning 23-acre oasis. The gardens feature an edible garden with a waterfall fountain, native and pollinator gardens showcasing vibrant plants like coneflowers and black-eyed susans. A new winding path leads to the Butchertown Greenway, adorned with colorful flowers along a waterfall stream.
This place is WONDERFUL! They've clearly done a lot of work here to make it serene and calming and beautiful. There's a lovely walking path with a gorgeous waterfall. We came in late April, so everything was blooming with so much color. There was also a fascinating exhibit on the history of the area and how the botanical garden came to be. And there were signs displaying plans for future exhibits, like a bonsai garden. I can't wait to come back in future months and years to see the progress!

The Waterfront Botanical Gardens is one of my favorite locations in Louisville for engagement photos and weddings! Couples who appreciate nature and modern architecture will absolutely love this space. The Water Wall is a serene and calming sculpture that makes a beautiful background for your wedding ceremony. At golden hour, the sun beams through the water wall for stunning wedding photos! Guests can explore the gardens during cocktail hour, enjoy appetizers and refreshments by the Plaza Fountain, and see butterflies visit the pollinator garden. The gardens are well-maintained, and everywhere you look there are vibrant plants and flowers that make a wonderful backdrop for any photos you take! Here are a few photos from a lovely fall wedding last year at Waterfront Botanical Gardens (images from Frames and Letters Photography, design and planning Events by Jacquline).

Free botanical trail that includes a variety of flowers and shrubs, as well as a few different, beautiful waterscapes. It is not large by any means (probably one acre has been developed), but it appears the site is still a WIP and under construction. It is also free to visit (for now). Parking is easy and generous. The only downside is a nearby freeway, so some of the peace and tranquility is definitely lost in the sounds of semi trucks and motorcycles speeding by. For now, it’s about a 20 minute leisurely walk, to the end of the trail and back.
Matthew L — Google review
This was our first time time at the Waterfront Botanical Gardens. We went for the bonsai tree show. The gardens are absolutely beautiful. I would definitely recommend a trip here. We bought a T-shirt to help support their plans. Also, the personalized bricks on the walkway really pulled at my heart strings. It was one of my favorite parts of the visit. I really hope they get there bc it's going to be stunning.

Went on a Saturday afternoon had a few hours to kill. Is a neat way to connect with nature in a very industrial part of the city. The parking lot is gravel, and the walking path is paved. All of the plants seem well taken care of and expertly trimmed. There is a decorative fountain next to their little event center. And there is also a connection to the local hiking trail down the hill.
Jonathan W — Google review
This is a beautiful place for a leisurely walk. We entered the gardens through the gate on the Butchertown Greenway. The scenic path winds up to the main level and includes many plants, flowers, and even a water feature. Once at the top of the trail we enjoyed the sprawling gardens and additional water features. The gardens are perfect for families and people of all ages.

This Botanical Garden is only on phase 2 of construction but so far it's quite lovely. Plants are healthy and well-labeled. Handicap accessible with lots of classroom space and interesting activities. Not yet much shade until trees grow bigger but it's going to be beautiful. No admission but suggested donation of $10 that can be made with a QR code at entry.

We stayed 3 days and visited every distillery on our list plus some. Our drivers, Tom, Bill and Tony were amazing. Very knowledgeable and so courteous. They went above and beyond to make sure our visit was the bucket list adventure that we wanted. I can't recommend Mint Julip experiences enough!

We came to Louisville to do the Bourbon Trail last weekend. We started planning the trip with Anna Gray several months ago to ensure a perfect experience. Anna was amazing at putting together exactly the perfect experience for us. And it started Saturday morning when Neal Wellinghurst, our driver picked us up. Neal is a Louisville native and a wealth of information. In addition to the stops Anna had booked for us he managed to squeeze in several additional stops that he thought we would enjoy and we did. We are already planning our next trip in September of 2026 and we told Neal we will be requesting him as our driver. The Mint Julep Experience cannot be beat.

I highly recommend that bacon and cheese croissant and the raspberry danish. My husband really liked their monkey bread muffin. Everything was super fresh and the drip coffee was awesome as well. Highly recommend visiting!

Nice little bakery! It was a bit busy of course on a Sunday but it was well worth the wait. I got their Smoked Salmon and it hit the spot! Next time I might have to dabble and try one of their Cruffins or pastry’s!

I stopped by just to satisfy a craving and ended up in dessert heaven. The Cookie Monster Croissant was rich, flaky and just the right amount of sweetness. The chocolate chip cookies? Perfectly chewy with melty chunks of chocolate in every bite. Totally worth the detour & I think one of the best in town. Highly recommend!
Roy J — Google review
My experience was amazing the service was great and the vibes were even better. I had the sausage biscuit with pepper jelly and also a red velvet croissant the day before. I had the biscuit with sausage and pepper jelly and a raspberry Danish that I didn't get a picture of and they also gave me a free sprinkle cookie, which was actually really good too.. The only thing that was hard for me was how big it was.And the standing room. You have to be very comfortable being in in other spaces. The space is very tight but worth the crowd.

I had the butcher block sandwich, totally delicious! Key Lime supreme was out of this world.

We stopped by Butchertown Grocery Bakery for coffee and breakfast sandwiches, and it was absolutely fantastic! The food was delicious, the coffee was perfect, and the atmosphere couldn’t have been better—warm, welcoming, and full of great energy. The staff were friendly and enhanced the experience with their genuine hospitality. It’s the kind of place you can’t wait to return to. Highly recommend stopping in if you’re in the area!

Stumbled upon this bakery by chance. Had the most delicious hot ham and cheese sandwich of my life. Very flavorful and unique sauce. Came with a choice of cookie or chips. I got a chocolate chunk cookie, which was amazing. Husband got the chips, which he loved. Decor is cool, too! Nice place to dine in. Staff were helpful.

Impressed by the baked goods Not impressed by the latte Here's what I had 1. Blueberry scone - moist and buttery. Very buttery, so if you like that, then this will he be your "jam". I enjoyed it, not too sweet and a good blueberry flavor. 2. Raspberry Danish - flaky sweet and a little tart. Fluffy and just enough! 3. Large latte - I only drank half and that was enough. Was just a little too bitter for my liking. This is definitely a cool place to post up and grab something and get some work done or meet up with a friend to catch up. I wouldn't mind this as a local spot, but probably wouldn't put it as a place to write home about. I originally came for a cruffin but they had already sold out by 10am on a Tuesday morning. Bummer. Wish they planned a little better. The staff is completely friendly and the space is great!

Brewery
TEN20 Craft Brewery Butchertown is a unique taproom that opened its doors in 2020, offering a historic 22,000 square foot space with ample seating. The brewery boasts an extensive beer selection including sours, IPAs, seltzers, and lagers. It's not your typical rowdy sports bar; instead, it provides a comfortable atmosphere with big screen TVs for game-watching without the usual crowd.
TEN20 struck me as a pleasant brewery to spend time at. The space both indoors and outdoors is comfortable, and the staff seemed friendly. I really enjoyed their Flying Pig beer, and it really hit the spot with the heat outside. This would probably be among my favorite of the Louisville breweries I visited.

Rating: 4/5 for Drinks | 4/5 for Food | 5/5 for Ambience I had a great experience at this brewery! The drinks were solid, with a nice variety of craft beers that I really enjoyed. The food was tasty, with a good selection of dishes, though there’s room for a bit more flair in some options. The best part? The ambience – it’s absolutely perfect! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it a great place to hang out with friends or relax after a long day. Overall, a fantastic spot to enjoy great brews and good vibes. Highly recommend!

Ten20 has always been a favorite. I am not certain what the relationship with MozzaPi is but this review is for MozzaPi. Also always been one of my favorite Louisville pizza places. However, recently the menu has drastically changed. These pizzas are now quite possibly the worst pizza I have ever had. Very disappointing. Crust is now disgusting and ingredients are very low quality. Please bring back the old Mozza Pi menu.

Sold-out trivia led to just sitting around for a few drinks with friends. Nice selection for those who are sober or sober-curious. I got the Grapefruit Fizz mocktail. Not sure if that selection is permanent or a holdover from dry January but it was good enough for a mocktail. My friends got the Ten20 Lager and a fruited sour - they enjoyed them! This is one of the most reasonably priced breweries in town. Dog-friendly as well!
Audrie L — Google review
Loved this brewery! It has such a laid back vibe and plenty of seating whether you sit indoor or outdoors. There is a bar to order your drinks and a few food options to choose from. Drinks were good, pizza was great and enjoyed a relaxing time.

We love Ten20, we had our wedding reception there and it was fabulous. They let us design the space how we wanted and were flexible with caterers and all the other wedding things. The service was friendly and speedy. Their drinks are delicious always!! Highly recommend for event space that is affordable!

Beer is great but service especially around the food is poor and planning was horrible. Came to watch the Racing soccer game and instead of having two lines for the different food only had one that wrapped around the interior of the building. Everyone online was complaining and the line took. Almost 30 mins to get through. The bar also messed up our order twice. This is a great place, but I don’t suggest it one nights that are gonna be busy.

I had a cocktail and husband had the New England IPA. Really great. Took home a six pack. Great place to sit outside. Really loved it. Recommend for sure!

Bowling alley
Pin + Proof at Omni Louisville Hotel offers a unique Prohibition-style speakeasy experience where guests can enjoy specialty cocktails in a cozy and intimate setting. The bar also features four professional bowling lanes, adding to its distinctiveness. Visitors can mingle, unwind, and even enjoy small bites like Brie grilled cheese and meatballs while sipping on crafted cocktails. The small and intimate bowling alley is perfect for group parties or a fun date night spot.
This is a hip bar. We really enjoyed bowling while getting some cocktails. The bowling alley is small and intimate and perfect for a group party. We had eight people comfortably in a lane and really enjoyed ourselves. It can really get hopping on the weekends but a weeknight is a great time to get in there. If you’re looking for a fun date night spot or a birthday party like mine this place is a cool stop.

Bri was absolutely amazing! Her service was top-notch—super friendly, attentive, and she brought such a fun energy to our night. She made the whole experience so enjoyable, and I’ll definitely be back because of her! Highly recommend this spot for great cocktails and awesome service.

Fantastic place! Excellent atmosphere, food, and drinks… My server Jessica was outstanding and made great menu suggestions, loved her personality and hustle… Will definitely be back!
Roy J — Google review
To make reservations to bowl was really difficult. I had to call the hotel and provide my information to later be contacted via email to confirm my reservations. When we arrived the person at the podium directed us to go to the bar to retrieve our bowling lane. The bar was packed, and we had to wait a while to get an opportunity to speak with the bar tender in regards to our reservation. We when finally was appointed our lane, nothing was explained and bowling shoes was not available. The waitress was nice, but not attentive. The music was not loud enough to hear, instead we could hear the balls hitting the pins and our lane neighbor's conversation. This was not my ideal of a speakeasy bowling experience. The cocktails were okay and the steak eggs rolled were really delicious.

Great experience here! Speakeasy vibe with a little bowling alley, extensive bourbon collection and unique (+beautiful) cocktails. Loved the space and the bartenders were also awesome
Cady P — Google review
I love the atmosphere and the staff. I'm not much of a bourbon/gin drinker, but the bartender was able to make me a decent Cosmo. My partner enjoyed one of their signature drinks. I would definitely hit this place up again if I were back in the city.
Irina — Google review
This is such a darling little place within The Omni Hotel. My coworkers and I decided to have a nightcap after a long day at the NACADA Conference and we were glad we did! There's a 4 lane bowling alley that costs $100 per hour to play. Not a bad price if you split it 4 or 5 ways. We didn't play but we enjoyed watching! The drinks were nice and I loved the ambiance! The drink menu was on the front and back of a bourbon bottle. Cute touch! However, my manager ordered the float and sting drink and hated it, but my coworker had an almeretta sour and we thought she may have needed a moment alone and a cigarette! She had that "after-glow" once she took her first sip! Nevertheless, it's a nice place and quite unique!
Sylvia C — Google review
Speakeasy bar and bowling alley! Such a unique and fun environment. After dinner we wanted to find a nice spot that wasn’t to busy or loud for a chill adult night out. Pin + Proof fit the bill in every aspect. Very attentive service at the bowling lanes for drinks and snacks, nice bourbon and drink selection. A fun time all around. We’ve been back twice since this trip when we have been in Louisville.
