Aquarium
Zoos & Aquariums
Located in downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee Aquarium is a must-visit family-friendly destination. The 200,000-square-foot complex features two buildings: River Journey and Ocean Journey. River Journey showcases exhibits about the wildlife along the Tennessee River, including playful otters and a seahorse exhibit. On the other hand, Ocean Journey houses a butterfly garden, penguins, sharks, and various ocean creatures. Visitors can also enjoy interactive shows and cruises at the adjacent Ross's Landing river pier.
It was wonderful. There are two buildings, the river and ocean. We began on the 4th floor in each and worked our way down. I would allow a couple hrs for each one. Parking was $13 for 3 to 5 hrs. There was a lot to see and do outside in the area also. It was a great family day.
Jan H — Google review
Great place for families and non families alike. Loved the large tanks for the fish, they looked very clean as well. Glad to see the residents had plenty of space to swim around, compared to some other aquariums I have visited. Wonderful butterfly garden as well. I enjoyed that saltwater and freshwater exhibits were separated. Fantastic views of the Tennessee River and the Riverfront area from the aquarium. Would definitely recommend a visit here, if you're in town.
Ulrika W — Google review
My BF took me here as a b-day surprise and it did not disappoint. The exhibits were lovely and educational. The view of the river from the different levels was spectacular. We really enjoyed ourselves, we came late in the day and it wasn't crowded which was delightful and peaceful - I recommend it!
Janelle R — Google review
Had such a great time at the Tennessee Aquarium! The setup and design of the buildings are beautiful — super easy to walk through and explore. There’s so much to see and learn at every turn, from the sea creatures to the interactive exhibits. Definitely a fun mix of learning and relaxing. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the area — I’ll let the pics do the rest of the talking! 🐠🐧🌊
Alanis R — Google review
This place is awesome!!! We had such a great time!! There's so much to see you could easily spend the entire day here! The only issue is parking (especially if you're disabled). We ended up having to pay to park in front of a condominium in order to have enough room for me to use my wheelchair.
Candice L — Google review
My husband and I thought this was a top notch aquarium. I don’t recall visiting an aquarium with a large focus on freshwater animals. It was very interesting. The flow of the aquarium was really well done. I liked how you started at the top and just meandered to the bottom without risking missing anything. We would definitely recommend this aquarium to others. It is in a great location as well. Convenient to restaurants and hotels. We walked from our hotel, walked to lunch, and then walked back to the hotel.
Bryna R — Google review
We are aquarium people, and I've been here before, but my partner has not! We needed to make it a stop on our trip and we both had a blast! Every single member of staff we came across was very friendly and kind. The exhibits were beautiful and we loved seeing the variety of critters they had. I also got to pet a shark in one of the touch tanks, so yeah it was basically the best day of my life. I'm so glad I got to show him this aquarium and can't wait to go back next time we are in TN!
Bry M — Google review
Great water exhibit, featuring marine mammals and lots of fish from salt and fresh water areas. There are two separate buildings and are included in the ticket price. To avoid the crowds and screeching crotch goblins, I recommend not going during the weekend or if there's any holiday vacations going on.

The Hunter Museum of American Art in Chattanooga offers a diverse collection of American art, spanning from the colonial period to contemporary works. Housed in a historic mansion and modern building, the museum showcases pieces by renowned artists such as Winslow Homer, Robert Henri, and Robert Rauschenberg. Visitors can also participate in workshops to explore their own creativity. The museum's location provides stunning views of the river and mountains, making it an ideal destination for art enthusiasts and those seeking cultural experiences.
What a great experience while located in Chattanooga. You can drive here or walk here really easily. There’s plenty of parking areas and it’s right on the heart of the river. I’ve been inside many times for different parties and social gatherings. However, the coolest part about this place is what it holds outside. You’ll see beautiful pictures of the Tennessee river, several bridges, the river walk, and our littered along the way in a super tasty and passionate way you gotta check this place out.
Malcolm G — Google review
The museum is a mix of classic and modern architecture and features an extensive collection of American art with a few European artists mixed in. While it doesn't boast a huge number of famous artists there are a few pieces by Warhol, Hopper, Wyeth, Wood and Sargent in the collection. The main part of the collection is 1800's to mid 1900's American art and it's a very nice collection. There is some modern and contemporary art mixed in. The museum includes some interactive areas, including one to make an expressive self portrait to be featured on a screen at the beginning of the walk through. Unfortunately, we didn't get to venture through the sculpture gardens because it was raining. It's definitely worth a trip, and you get 3 hours of free parking validated inside the museum.

This Museum in Chattanooga, Tennessee is spectacular and i went there with my dad this weekend. this Museum has it's great History and Art Displays in every single gallery ever from the Colonial American era to the Modern Day Art era of now, plus you can make your own Digital Portrait of yourself and let your imagination go wild; and there Gift Shop is very decent and nice!
Ricco C — Google review
Definitely smaller but excellently priced and very informative. The displays describe the artwork perfectly and the sculpture is outside lead to a interesting garden walk under the famous adjacent bridge. Regrettably the garden display is closed until a later date.

An icon of Chattanooga and Southern Art. Member review. I love their current exhibition - a loan from Spelman University. Great programming and events that are engaging and fun! I would see the need for a Wheelchair button on the entrance door. It would help greatly!!!

Beautiful museum. I loved how it was laid out. Early 1900s to late 1900s in one part of the building then in the mansion 1800s art. Also enjoyed seeing an Andy Warhol original!

First time going, really enjoyed all of the older art. Only problem now is I got my parking validated inside but now Professional Parking Management is trying to charge me $75 for parking at 10 Bluff View. What gives?

Ruby Falls is a mesmerizing 145-foot-tall underground waterfall nestled within a limestone cavern on Lookout Mountain, just about 6 miles from Chattanooga, Tennessee. Visitors can embark on an unforgettable journey by descending 620 feet into the earth via an elevator and then walking through the ancient cave system of Lookout Mountain to reach this breathtaking natural wonder. The waterfall is illuminated with enchanting lighting and accompanied by music, creating a truly thrilling experience for all who visit.
I am so glad I was able to take a detour from our trip to check this place out. The scenery was absolutely breath taking. They have plenty of parking there is someone to help guide you to which part you are looking for. I appreciated how thought out the place is, because you can see it in the details. Even the brochure section had great information about other attractions in the area. The gift shop was actually fun to check out, not many places can say that. All the employee's I interacted with were helpful and really knew their information. I plan a return visit so I can have time for the cave and zipline. I highly recommend this place for all ages.

Great experience in the caverns. Absolutely worth it. The twisting drive up and down the mountain was exhilarating. The guides were amazing. 10/10 would recommend.
Saltylures — Google review
The person who guide us thru this cave was so nice and informative. All the way to the end was incredible seeing all the formations inside the cave. Worth the walk to see this beautiful and amazing natural wonder.
Yendri T — Google review
Visited Ruby Falls and it was such a cool experience. You go down into the cave, walk through all the rock formations, and at the end there’s this huge underground waterfall — it’s honestly amazing to see in person. The lights make it look even more magical. The tour is easy to walk and the guides are friendly and explain a bit of the history. It’s a fun spot to visit, especially if you’ve never seen an underground waterfall before. Definitely worth it if you’re around Chattanooga!
Alexandre A — Google review
Getting to the waterfall is such a fun adventure. The elevator ride down a solid rock shaft is interesting and at the bottom there is a waiting area in the cave where you gather to follow the tour guide through the cave to the waterfall. There was so many rock formations to see along the way that made the time go quickly. Our tour guide had an unique sense of humor and we had a great time! Worth the visit.
L M — Google review
The first time that my wife and I had been to Ruby Falls since we were kids. We really enjoyed the tour and learning about the history of its founding.
BLAKE H — Google review
Ruby Falls is definitely worth seeing if you are in Chattanooga. We had an amazing and enjoyable time on the tour. Going down the elevator into the mountain is cool, and the walk through the cave is fun. The best part is the waterfall! The 145-foot waterfall at the end is absolutely beautiful. When they turn on the colored lights, it looks stunning! It’s truly a special scene hidden inside the earth. If you like nature I would highly recommend coming here.
Miguel R — Google review
We visited Ruby Falls during our trip to Tennessee, and it was truly unforgettable. The staff was incredible ,our guide was so knowledgeable and passionate, sharing lots of interesting facts about the cave’s history and formations. The cave itself is breathtaking, and the waterfall is simply stunning ,pictures don’t do it justice! Everything was well-organized, and the whole tour felt magical from start to finish. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in the area!

Scenic spot
The Walnut Street Bridge in Chattanooga is a revitalized historic pedestrian bridge that provides access to museums and city parks. It spans 2,370 feet across the Tennessee River, claiming to be the world's longest pedestrian bridge. Visitors can take a leisurely stroll across the bridge to reach the trendy NorthShore area, where they can explore various shops such as Blue Skies and All Things Groovy.
This is our one of the coolest bridges in America. I think it’s actually one of the longest walking pedestrian bridges that don’t allow cars on it now the pictures and photos that you see and videos in this review are pretty rough because the bridge is in pretty rough condition however they’re shutting it down in like one week from now and they’re redoing a lot of the surface areaso I will post some more pictures of the revitalized bridge when it’s finished in 18 months
Malcolm G — Google review
What a great slice of history. This walking bridge is super cool. It takes twenty minutes to go across. The walk is nice and the views are amazing. They are closing for renovation on 3/17 for two years. I’m happy I got to enjoy this beautiful bridge.
Lisa S — Google review
We visited the Coolidge park right across the bridge. Nice location and perfect place for evening stroll. This bridge has historical Significance and kids enjoyed learning about it. Sunset view was nice to watch.
Pankaj K — Google review
We were touring the area and had the idea to walk across the bridge and get ice cream on the other side. Parking was $2.45 ($2 plus a service fee of 45 cents) for an hour using the ParkMobile app. We realized the bridge was temporarily closed for construction when we arrived. However, two nice locals told us that we could still walk across the Tennessee River using either of two nearby bridges: the Chief John Ross Bridge or the Veterans Memorial Bridge. The other bridges are busier and not as nice as the Walnut Street Bridge because there is a lot of car traffic, but they’re still viable alternatives if you’d like to follow a similar plan.
Andrew Z — Google review
It's such a classic Chattanooga activity. It's a core memory of mine for so many special moments . I especially loved my sweet dates , my walks with friends , heart break crying to market Street , watching my kid get so excited to run across and terrifying me that she would get her foot stuck in one of the boards holes . I'm sad that it will be closed for two years (because Chattanooga always takes longer than they say ) but I am excited to see the improvements ... And to get rid of the board holes
Ashe — Google review
The Bridge was closed for renovations when I went to Chattanooga and will be closed until next September. Despite the construction, it still was a sight to behold when looking at it from afar.
Michael C — Google review
The best time to visit this historical landmark is right before sundown. Leave your car in the Coolidge Park area and enjoy a stroll across the bridge as the colors change from orange glow to glittering city lights. If you work up an appetite there are many places to eat at the end of the Market Street bridge.
Joe G — Google review
Connected between downtown Chattanooga to the other side of the river, to the other part of town. A walking & biking bridge, no cars allowed on it. Great views up and down the river, and on both sides, its surrounded by beautiful parks, a ton of shops and restaurants! 🌎 We travel for a living (USA & around the globe) and love to share our experiences both here on Google maps and on our social media pages, too! Nestled just a short distance from downtown Chattanooga, Raccoon Mountain Caverns and Campground offers an underground adventure filled with natural wonders. The Crystal Palace Walking Tour takes visitors through the diverse formations of the limestone cave, showcasing passageways, waterfalls, canyons, tunnels, and abundant fossils. For those seeking more excitement, the wild cave expedition provides a hands-on experience crawling through the cave's depths.
We did the Halloween cave tour and we had an absolutely incredible time! I don't want to give any spoilers, but the story was so cute and original and the actors really get into it! The cave itself was amazing as well, however it was very dark when we did it, do the Halloween event. But we really enjoyed it. We are from Florida and might come back again next year! Our tour guide was great, just wish we had cash to tip him at the end! (Not required, but wish we could have!)
Alyssa F — Google review
This is definitely the place to stay. Close to everything, great customer service, and very clean cabins and bathhouses. My family enjoyed their stay and had a blast. The rock panning is an absolute must. Most places it's just good luck. But here, you get a lot of gems and amythysts even in the small bags. The cavern tour was also a lot of fun. Managed to find a few salamanders.
Elle R — Google review
Everyone in our group had a great time! A few of us did the cave tour and a few of us did the gem panning. The staff was very friendly, and the gift shop had lots of cute items for the whole family. The guide for our cave tour was funny and knowledgeable. We went to Ruby Falls a couple days before, and this experience was far better! The size of the tour group was more intimate and the guide really knew his stuff. We even got to see a bunch of baby salamanders! I'm hoping to come back another time to do one of the crawling tours!
Mercy K — Google review
No raccoons around when we went haha, but this was the best cave adventure I've ever experienced! Most people I told about the place didn't know about it and it deserves so much hype. The staff was so friendly and it was a totally laid back experience, as long as you can keep your hands in your pockets! They have done an amazing job taking care of this cave. The critters were super interesting and learning about them before the tour was fun for the kids. DON'T LICK THE SALAMANDERS! We now have a new quote in the house haha. Make sure to check out the gift shop. I got my new favorite cup there. I recommend adding on one of the panning kits at the end of the tour, as well. The kids loved the gems and talked all about what they saw in the cave. We'll definitely be back when they're a bit older for the cave adventures and to camp in one of the adorable cabins on the property.
Sierra H — Google review
This was our first time visiting raccoon mountain and caverns campground on Thanksgiving week and we cannot say enough about this place! Everyone we interacted with on the premises was super nice and helpful our entire stay. Devin our tour guide for the caverns was awesome our 7 year old enjoyed her attention and excitement throughout the tour and the gift shop was so cute! The campground itself was quiet and clean very peaceful! Would definitely recommend this place and plan on coming back in the future!
Crystal F — Google review
We just had the most incredible stay here with our daughter and 5 grandchildren! We had our camper, rented a cabin and a tent site for the kiddos to get the best camping experience ever. The staff here definitely were the definition of southern hospitality and were always available to answer questions and be helpful. The grounds were immaculate and provided playgrounds, dog park, grassy area for frisbee play and lots of room to explore and for the kids to ride bikes. Walmart is less than 2 miles away for any last minutes needs and activities galore on site and in Chattanooga. We were thrilled with everything and will be back!!
Tina H — Google review
We’ve stayed at this RV campground three times in the past year. We like the property and the location, but we’ve had issues each visit. -First stay: THEY placed us in the wrong site, which WE (not them) only caught after speaking with the front desk. Minor mistake, we gladly moved spots. -Second stay: THEIR sewage overflowed, and we had to move from the site we’d requested. Frustrating, but we came back. -Third stay: we booked about 10 days, and halfway through my grandmother passed away, so we had to leave early. We know refunds aren’t typically offered, but as repeat customers under extreme circumstances, we hoped they could make an exception. After waiting over a week, we were told no refund only a credit that must be used by year‑end. We received this after leaving the week before Thanksgiving. With only a month to use the credit with the upcoming holidays, a funeral, and dropping temps (not ideal for RVs), that credit is effectively unusable. We were hoping for a bit more compassion and empathy. We would have loved to keep coming back, but at this point we don’t feel we morally can. We have stayed all over the country and have not experienced these situations and worry about what will happen the fourth time. I’m not telling anyone to avoid this campground, but please keep our experience in mind as you weigh your options in Chattanooga.
Joshua R — Google review
We stayed in the safari tents which were awesome! The campground was located close to everything we wanted to do in Chattanooga. It was very quiet and super friendly. The staff were great with any little issue we had and getting firewood was quick and easy. The playground was situated where I could easily watch my kids and just enjoy a fire while they played. My only complaint was the bathhouse left a little to be desired, but overall not so negative I wouldn’t come back. Thanks for the great stay! Can’t wait to come back.

The Bluff View Art District is a historic neighborhood located on 1.5 blocks atop a bluff, offering visitors galleries, eateries, and gardens to explore. This tiny district stretches along the Tennessee Riverfront and is home to three major art institutions. The Houston Museum of Decorative Arts houses an impressive collection of decorative art glass from the early 1900s. The River Gallery showcases local and regional artists through rotating exhibits and features a serene outdoor sculpture garden along the riverfront.
Nice place to have a stroll, relax, and enjoy sculpture art.
Luis V — Google review
I miss the old Bluff View District! It's really gone downhill since Michael left. The new renovations to Rembrandt's leave it feeling cold and impersonal, just like any other coffee shop (if not for the patio, they would not have such a good business), and the menu has been severely limited. Back Inn closed and with it took a good restaurant, leaving only Tony's with its overcooked pasta and noisy, boring atmosphere. I miss the wine tastings; they were the best part of the Bluff. I've given it 2 stars only for the art; they do a fabulous job with the sculpture garden and other pieces scattered throughout the Bluff, and the Gallery is still very good. Except for the art, no real reason to go here anymore. I miss the old Bluff View District.

I was in Chattanooga for 3 days and I stopped by BVAD every day! Rembrandt Coffee is a great way to start the day with tasty food and coffee. Nice sculpture garden and great views of the TN River and Walnut St Bridge. This is only a 1.5 block, art district but it has a unique, European vibe. There is limited parking for free, 2 hours.

Beautiful old world style place to walk, sightsee, eat, look at art, shop, have a coffee, see a beautiful river, catch a sunset (or sunrise), and stay a night, ...and the view of Chattanooga's bridges.. wow! The Creative Discovery Museum in Chattanooga, Tennessee offers a wide range of interactive and educational exhibits designed for children of all ages. Visitors can explore rotating and permanent science exhibits, as well as enjoy immersive experiences such as piloting a riverboat at the Tennessee Riverplay area. The museum also features the nationally-ranked Treehouse Adventure, which includes various pods like The Gathering House and The Weather Pod where visitors can observe current weather conditions.
My 4 kids (10, 9, 8 & 4) all LOVED this! I loved that they labeled the "sensory advisory" areas because my 4 year old has autism and some times these things can be a little much for him. The STEM floor was our FAVORITE! They had some of the coolest gadgets. It was even parent fun friendly! We are a family of 6 so we paid nearly the same amount for 1 visit that we would for a membership- HIGHLY recommend splurging on the membership for larger families they'll pay for themselves in 2 visits and believe me you'll be back!!

Hand down top 10 of my most favorite children’s museums to visit in the United States. This place was clean very creative interactive exhibit lots of sensory inclusion. It’s a definitely a must when you come to Tennessee to visit, if you have children check out their free family night every month on the second Thursday of the month The exhibits are always changing, so make sure you check them out every so often

My children and I have been here several times. We love how interactive it is. I love how they constantly update and change one of the rooms. We’ve been when it was Doc McStuffins, Wild Kratt’s, Mo Willems and more. As my kids have grown they still find this place so fun. The water area is very sensory friendly and is a fan favorite. The STEM area upstairs is fantastic. The robotic arms, build your own race car and make art using recycled materials are just another area we love. I cannot say enough great things about this place. We visited a few weeks ago. It was free admission night to the museum. It was great but obviously very crowded. My son got overwhelmed and over stimulated while inside. Brian was super helpful. He gave us ideas on rooms inside that would help calm him. I truly appreciated that. We will definitely be back but we will go during a less busy time.

We were passing through Chattanooga and decided to try out CDM. We had so much fun at this museum. Like most children’s museums there were a few exhibits that weren’t functioning, but everything was clean and well maintained otherwise. The staff and volunteers were friendly and attentive. There was easy access to bathroom and sanitizer stations throughout. The stunning playground areas mixed with the exhibits gives kids lots of space to both burn energy and relax into educational experiences. We bought our tickets ahead of time on the website We were there around 10:30 on a Tuesday morning and there were lots of school groups wrapping up at that time. We didn’t have to wait more than a rare minute or two to access any exhibits. Free parking was very limited but there is a paid parking overflow area in the same location. GPS took me directly to the parking lot. We spent about 2 hours there and my daughter did not want to leave. There was a nice little gift shop at the end/front as well. As someone who designs these types of spaces I was impressed and took several reference photos and notes for myself. We had a great time and I highly recommend it.

Absolutely wonderful experience. Also, it is relatively cheap. You can enter and exit all day after purchasing your tickets. You just need a stamp to get back in. Every exhibit was educational and interactive, and It offered both English and Spanish on the educational boards, which was amazingly inclusive for my blended family. My daughter had a blast in the arts center and dinosaurs exhibit, lol. Though I would warn, some of the stuffed animals in the gift shop are 40$-50, and they do not take tap pay. Regardless, a 10/10 adventure for a relaxed Sunday activity. Will be going back.

The science show on October 4th was absolutely amazing! It was a small group, and my son has a speech delay, but the scientist leading the show was so kind, patient, and engaging. He truly gave us an experience we’ll never forget. I know it’s his job, but I hope he understands the lasting impact he has on children and families like ours. The Discovery Museum may be a little pricey, but the experience is worth every penny. We spent hours exploring, learning, and bonding together. Even the café staff were so thoughtful — they kindly let me store my belongings while we explored. Everyone we encountered showed such genuine warmth and care. Please let the entire staff know how appreciated they are — they all deserve a raise for the love and joy they bring to families every day!

We visited on a holiday, it was completely full of kids. Our kids had a blast playing with the dinosaur dig, and the robot games in the upstairs area. The outdoor tree house was great, but it was a bit too hot, definitely will be awesome during the fall. The river play area also had the kids very engaged for a while. Definitely plan to spend 2-3 hours with the kids.
Frederick E — Google review
The kids had a blast and honestly so did my husband and I. That being said,a star short is only because even though I know kids are rough with the equipment at times and things can break, some of the broken items throughout could be easily fixed or repaired. Upstairs one of the tables about wind power was completely broken, 3 out of 4 catapults were broken, etc. At almost $100 for a family of 4 each i can't imagine that it'd be impossible to get someone in to fix those kinds of things on a regular basis. That is what would really set this place apart, for sure.

Coolidge Park, situated on the North Shore of Chattanooga, is a must-visit destination offering a blend of historical charm and modern amenities. The park features an interactive water fountain, a rock climbing wall, and a military memorial. Visitors can also enjoy the iconic Walnut Street Bridge nearby. Families can delight in the antique carousel that has been entertaining guests for over 100 years.
I really enjoyed the park, even though there are still some areas under construction. Despite that, you can still enjoy the carousel, the fountains, and take a nice walk through most parts of the park. One of the most fun surprises was seeing how many rabbits there are throughout the park, I spotted at least ten during my visit. It’s really entertaining to watch them as you walk around. I would definitely recommend bringing mosquito repellent, I ended up with lots of bites all over my legs. Additionally, under the bridge there’s a company that rents out kayaks and paddle boards if you want to enjoy the river. The prices are reasonable, around $35 for an hour of rental, which makes for a fun and different way to experience the area.

The park provided a wonderful experience for the children. The scenery surrounding the area was quite pleasing, offering a pleasant visual treat specially during sunset. Despite the overall positive experience, it was unfortunate that access to the walking bridge was unavailable. Hopefully, the bridge will be open soon for everyone to fully appreciate its beauty. Overall, it was a memorable day.
Arindam D — Google review
The Coolidge Bridge is one of the most scenic spots in Chattanooga. Walking across gives you incredible views of the Tennessee River, downtown, and the surrounding mountains. It is peaceful, relaxing, and perfect for taking pictures or just enjoying the moment. The highlight of my visit was the sunset. Watching the sky light up with color over the river from the bridge was absolutely beautiful and unforgettable. It is the kind of view that makes you slow down and just take it all in. The bridge connects downtown to Coolidge Park, which makes it a great place for both locals and visitors. The atmosphere is friendly and inviting, with families, walkers, and cyclists all sharing the space. If you want a scenic walk and one of the best views of Chattanooga, especially at sunset, the Coolidge Bridge is a must-see.

Adding this stop to our vacation was the best decision! Public parking for an hour to explore was $2 by the blue rhino(pic opp) They had this cool little area with pipes and metal plates set up like instruments for the kids to play on and frozen ice by the parking lot. We had to walk around bridge construction but we checked out the kayak ramp, little games along the paths, and racing through a big field beside the amazing dancing waters with detailed statues. The park has an antique carousel you can ride for free. The attendant was super friendly and the different animals were so intriguing. Outlining the park were the backend of the shops and restaurants. Chalk alley is one of the best ways to the street. Trust me! I definitely recommend adding this stop to your chattanooga trip.

This is a great place for families no matter the age. My dad has always taken us here on our road trips since I was a little girl and now we still go back with his grandkids and great grandkids. There is so much to do and plenty of parking. Their is boat rides on the river they have kayaks or canoes. There's the splash pad for the kids and the antique carousel for kids and adults to ride on. They have nice paved walkways down the river.

This is a perfect example of why Chattanooga is being named a national park city. Many different paths to go down and explore nature and see the river, but also has shops, amenities, a carousel and other fun stuff close by.

Great urban park with beautiful views of Jonh Ross's Bridge and The Walnut Bridge. The park has interactive water fountains for the kids, and antique carousel that only cost $1 per ticket, a lot of green areas, and many restaurants around the area. It is a relaxing place to walk.

Zoos & Aquariums
Immerse yourself in the captivating world of wildlife at Chattanooga Zoo, a 13.5-acre animal sanctuary located in Chattanooga, TN. With over 500 animals from around the globe, the zoo offers an intimate and authentic wildlife experience. Divided into distinct exhibits like Himalayan Passage, Gombe Forest, Corcovado Jungle, and more, visitors can explore diverse geographical terrains and witness the wide variety of species that call these habitats home.
This is a nice little zoo and can be walked in full within an hour or so. A decent amount of exhibits to see even though most of the animals opted to stay inside their enclosures to escape the July heat. It also seems there's construction throughout the zoo, mainly for expansion and building new exhibits. We enjoyed it a lot and it was a nice little stop on our trip.
Jim V — Google review
This was one of the cleanest zoos that I have visited! All of the animals was cared for like personal pets and had their enclosures set up to their likings. I was also impressed that ALL the animals had indoor air conditioned or heat/ outdoor enclosures that they could choose from. Cooling stations all throughout the zoo for the visitors and educational programs. The zoo is not huge but it is definitely worth the visit and I was so happy to see the animals looked happy!
Jessica C — Google review
Small zoo compared to most but very nice. Feed the giraffe for and extra $5. Parking is better I bet, when there is not a ball tournament next door. Clean restrooms.
Barry S — Google review
We had such a great time on our first, but definitely not last, visit! It’s pretty flat so it wasn’t hard to get around and I did most of the wheeling in my own. My daughter, Noelle, helped me some on the uphill spots which were VERY few. We loved it! So many great exhibits and animals and the people were very nice and accommodating. The restaurant seems really reasonable too. The gift shop is adorable. Definitely a great place for the whole family.
Glynis V — Google review
What a wonderful zoo! Great exhibits on the animals and a very clean zoo with friendly staff and plenty of restrooms. It's not a huge zoo, but the exhibits are well done, and you can get great views of the animals. We didn't get to see the anteater or the snow leopards. I think they were avoiding the heat. Appreciate the free admission for veterans. Very nice. Highly recommend the Chattanooga Zoo.
BRAD B — Google review
It was a hot August day on our vacation and my special needs daughter and I decided to do the zoo anyway. It is a smaller zoo so it did not take long to see everything. The animals were not overly active, who could blame them but there was still plenty to see. We were disappointed that there wasn't an elephant as that in one of two animals signs my daughter can do. I am not sure if we missed another way but the giraffe feeding was up some stairs and that did not work for my wheelchair daughter. Also, the red panda house was up a long ramp. Too much for me on the hot day so we skipped it. I wanted her to take a train ride as she loves that but the train they have is not wheelchair accessible. The only option was to take her out and walk her in. Again, too warm, and too much effort. The gal did say that their carousel had a ramp. We were finished at that point and headed to the carousel. As you can see in my photos they have a ramp that you can push the chair up into and something to click her into. It only clicks in one wheel not two as the spacing didn't work. Please consider straps where we can have two wheels in. The carousel doesn't go fast and we had her brakes on so it was safe but extra safety never hurts. The girls running the carousel were very nice and helpful. We left through the gift shop and since we did not see the red panda I purchased a small stuffy for her to have. It was almost $19. Overpriced in my opinion.

We had a great time I feel due to the nice weather as all the animals were out and loving the temperature. My grandson loved it.
Justin G — Google review
Small zoo, but we had a great time! The animals were active and most of the exhibits were open, which made it fun to walk through. It only takes about an hour to see everything, so it’s not too long. Overall, a good zoo—just don’t expect something on the scale of the Nashville Zoo. Much smaller, but still enjoyable!

Scenic Railroads
The Lookout Mountain Incline Railway in Chattanooga is a must-visit for any traveler. This over 100-year-old vertical gauge railway offers a thrilling ascent up Lookout Mountain, providing stunning panoramic views of the city, Tennessee River, and natural beauty. The mile-long ride clings to the mountain at an incline of 72.7 degrees, making it the world's steepest passenger railway.
Had so much fun going up to Lookout Mountain. We decided to take the incline railway and the views were remarkable. This train is handicap, friendly and kid friendly so don’t be afraid to put the stroller on the train. The ride up was about five minutes. We went closer toward the end of the day so we didn’t get to spend much time up in the observation area. So make sure if you’re wanting to spend more time up in the observation area to go earlier in the day, the last train goes down at 5:30pm

Interesting piece of engineering. We walked up, purchased tickets and stepped right onto the train from the low station on a Friday morning. Ended up on the front row as the last two passengers. Steep track and amazing how it works (make sure you check out the mechanical room at the top platform). The view is definitely good from up there. We walked down to the park at the end of the street but it was closed due to the federal government shutdown. The houses are very cool along that street- some new and some old architecture. Worth a walk. The only reason it is not five star is that there is not much else at the top or bottom. I did grab a coffee at the independent shop at the bottom in St Elmo- try to support local independent shops. Plenty of paid parking at the bottom station.
Eric B — Google review
It was a thrilling ride up a very steep incline with beautiful views from the top of the mountain. It's an unusual experience and the gift shop at the top has a variety of goods for everyone. Bathrooms available along with snacks and drinks.
L M — Google review
Incline railway was fun! Bit pricey for a family. The car has a glass roof; all seats are excellent. As you go up - look up the mountain. it gives the illusion that you're going straight up the cliff. Really cool. The historic photos at the top are interesting, as are viewing the mechanics. While they sell timed tickets, you queue up and wait. We arrived mid-afternoon on Sat and waited about 45 min. yeah, I'd go again if with someone who never did it.
Lisa P — Google review
The view with Incline experience is definitely worth the money spent! It’s about $22 per adult for a round trip. Once at the top, you feel like it’s how looking down from heaven feels like. The views are AMAZING! Plus the rich history. Only a couple of things - bathrooms are kind of awkward & you might have to wait at least an hour to get INTO line. It was kind of confusing. We bought tickets then had to wait over an hour to get into line (ticket at 3:15), but that isn’t when you actually board. We boarded around 3:30 to 3:45. So prepare to wait but the crew and gift shop attendants are so helpful and sweet! SHOUT OUT to the top of the hill engineer driver! He deserves a raise! :)

Thinking of taking a ride on the incline car? Here are a few tips to help you make the most of your visit: Save on Tickets: Definitely purchase your tickets online beforehand – it's a great way to save a little cash! Parking Perks: Parking is pretty straightforward: it's $3.00 for up to 3 hours or $5.00 for 5+ hours. Time Your Visit: Honestly, you really only need about 3 hours to go up, enjoy the view, and come back down. There isn't a whole lot to do at the very top, so a quick trip is usually sufficient. Restroom Rundown: Just a heads-up, the restrooms at the bottom were unfortunately locked during our visit, so plan accordingly before you head up! Be Prepared for a Wait: While we were told the next car was in 10 minutes, there was a bit of disorganization, and we ended up waiting around 50 minutes in total. The car left without loading passengers, and we were told it would be back in 30 minutes. It felt a bit like a new attraction opening, rather than one that's been around for years, so patience is key! The Ride Itself: Once all the waiting was done, we truly did enjoy the ride up – it's quite a unique experience! While the ride itself is unique, we felt that $44.00 for two people was a bit steep considering the overall experience and the waiting time. Unique? Absolutely! Worth the price? In our opinion, not quite.
Medic0818 S — Google review
A unique experience going up the incline which is over 70 degrees at most. The view along the way is different each season and the views from tge top are spectacular. We loved seeing the mechanism of the trolly, too.
Rose C — Google review
This was an unexpected enjoyment! The train ride does not take as long as you would think! There are 2 cars that work dependant upon each other. At the halfway point, you pass the other car very closely. The view is spectacular and there is a neat gift shop at the top as well as the bottom.

The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum is a living museum that offers a captivating journey into the history of American railroading. Visitors can step aboard historic passenger cars dating back to the early 1900s and embark on train excursions, such as the Missionary Ridge Local trip, which includes a turntable demonstration and engaging narration on railway history. The museum also features restored trains, some over 100 years old, providing an immersive experience for engineering enthusiasts.
We had a wonderful experience at TN Valley Railroad! It was a dreary, rainy day and decided to go on the Missionary Ridge tour. It was perfect! We got there half an hour early, but the train left right on schedule. The guys working our train were kind, friendly, funny, and very knowledgeable about the railroad. We had a choice between an air conditioned car, or one with fresh (window) air. We chose the fresh air, windows down. Choose this, if the weather is nice! The rain cleared long enough for us to see the turntable demonstration and to walk over and see the other locomotives that were being repaired. It was all in all the best first train ride and tour we could have asked for. We will be returning in the coming months with our children. We hope to try the deli next time around because it looked fantastic! We had already eaten and didn’t know they had one in the station. The gift shop was great also! Lots to choose from, affordable and very friendly. The pictures definitely don’t do it justice!

My husband and I quite enjoyed our trip. The tour guide was fantastic. His talks were humorous and interesting. Unfortunately, we chose a rather cloudy and dull day after the leaves had mostly fallen, but that's not their fault. The tour and experience were nice, however there was some issues with upkeep. Our car had no A/C working. Thankfully it was a cloudy and cool day so we remained mostly comfortable. The view from the glass dome was great, but the top most windows could use some cleaning as they were too closed with grime to see through. The free snack and drink package was very nice.

It was a great experience very enjoyable. We choose the observation package. It was a very beautiful ride and also learned a lot along the way. The a/c was uncooperative on the way back but the staff did everything possible to make our ride enjoyable, even offered to move us to other seating. We were advised that boarding started 30 min before departure, although I would advise getting there around an hour before, even loading went very fast it would have given more an opportunity for seats.

We had a wonderful time. The food and shopping was great at Copper Hill. The train takes you back in time, it has a vintage vibe. The train car we rode in was built in 1947. The seats were comfortable and the windows are large. I cant wait to go again in the spring.

Really enjoyed the ride. Very educational. The staff went way beyond for us. We were running late and they waited. My mother in law had to be let off at platform instead of stairs, they accommodated for her.. Everyone was very nice. Definitely recommend the train ride. Loved the music

Absolutely Unforgettable – The Hiwassee River Rail Adventure is Pure Magic! I hadn’t been on a real train in years, so when I spotted an Instagram video of the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum’s Hiwassee River excursion, I knew it was the perfect way to celebrate my mom’s birthday. We made the 3-hour drive from home, and let me tell you – it was 100% worth every mile! We timed our trip for a Friday in mid-November, after hearing the fall colors were peaking a bit late this year. With just enough leaves fallen, the views of the majestic Hiwassee River opened up dramatically through the trees. Riding midday was key: the sunlight danced across the water, creating that breathtaking “jewel effect” John Muir raved about over 150 years ago when he walked these very banks: “My path all to-day led me along the leafy banks of the Hiwassee, a most impressive mountain river… Such a river is the Hiwassee, with its surface broken to a thousand sparkling gems, and its forest walls vine-draped and flowery as Eden.” He wasn’t exaggerating – the river truly sparkled like a thousand gems under the autumn sun, framed by the rugged gorge and Cherokee National Forest. It felt like stepping into a living postcard (or Eden itself!). This was the very last Hiwassee Loop trip of the season, and tickets were down to the final four when I booked – we ended up in coach class, but it was perfectly comfortable. The roughly 4-hour round-trip journey (50 miles through the stunning lower Hiwassee Gorge) flew by. We wandered freely between cars, snapped incredible photos and videos from the open-air vestibules (fresh mountain air + epic vistas = perfection), and soaked in the engineering marvel of the historic Hiwassee Loop where the tracks spiral over themselves. The staff were fantastic – friendly, hilarious, and full of fascinating stories about the railroad’s history, the local area, and the wildlife along the route. This isn’t just a train ride; it’s a one-of-a-kind adventure that blends nostalgia, nature, and pure joy. If you’re debating it… book it now! You won’t regret experiencing one of the most scenic rail journeys in the Southeast. Highly recommend for families, nature lovers, history buffs, or anyone needing a memorable escape. We’ll be back! 🚂💎

We took the Hiwasse Loop 4 hour trip from Delano, Tn. It was enjoyable. We were to early for the changing leaf colors which I really wanted to see, however it was still beautiful. Recommend you bring games for kids because there is no service and 4 hours can be a little long for them. Also, they say to get there 30 mins prior, however they start boarding an hour prior first come first pick of seats. We had arrived at 11 thinking we had plenty of time went into the town of Etowah to the museum and was told there about the seating so we rushed back and the parking lot was full people already boarding at 12:15. Still a great trip and narrator was awesome.

Rock City Gardens, situated on Lookout Mountain, is a must-visit natural attraction offering breathtaking panoramic views and unique rock formations. The expansive gardens feature over 400 native plant species and vibrant wildflowers along the trails. Visitors can explore caves, rock formations, and picturesque gardens while enjoying attractions like Mother Goose Village and Fairyland Caverns. The 'See Seven States' viewpoint provides stunning vistas, making it a perfect destination for nature enthusiasts and families alike.
This place is magical. It is a unique combination of hiking and breathtaking viewpoints and a botanical garden with enchanting and thoughtful decor worked into the natural landscape. The trail system all connects and leads one into the next, so you can see and experience everything. There's plenty of space to stop and enjoy the viewpoints. There's also plenty of comfortable spaces worked in to stop and take a rest if you need. We visited in late October, so got the added bonus of the enchanted pumpkin patch. We visited in the morning, but I can only imagine it would be stunning in the evening with everything lit up. I also imagine in Christmas, it is wonderful as well. I was very much looking forward to visiting here on our trip and it exceeded my expectations. I would love to come back in the future. My only recommendations are to wear comfortable shoes and to buy your tickets in advance (for a bit of savings). Parking is free.

Absolutely great place to be a child. Imagination coming to life. From the rock formations and the natural surroundings to the decorations, lighting, and displays added by the business, such a cool place to check out. I went during Halloween, and it is very packed on the weekends. With that in mind, bring your patience . . . And your wallet. The admission is expensive. The parking is free but the beer and wine ain't. If you follow the trails on the map, it is one big loop. This makes most of the trails one way, which makes sense. Especially the very tight areas. Some people don't, lol. The fairyland cavern is pretty crazy, and wild. It shows displays of children's stories as dioramas in blacklight. Vivid colors and good detail, but some of the scenes are . . . interesting. All in all a fun visit, bit one start off for price.

Fantastic experience and the place is gorgeous. The panoramic view from the top is breathtaking and you can relax in the cafe while doing it. You can see seven states from here. I had a great time there exploring the area and see all the huge rocks and all the cool trails and the swing bridge. The fairland cavers was a nice surprise. So well done and beautiful inside, really feels magic. Definitely I want to visit this place at night while all the lights around are on, because must be a completely different experience.

I loved everything about Rock City Gardens. We went there on a weekday. No traffic and there were free EV chargers. Entry was quick and easy, requiring only your QR code if you purchased in advance. The trails were decorative and also short and beautiful. It has lots of different sightings. We went at 3PM and left at 8PM. At the summit, there was also a restaurant for people who are hungry to eat.

🎟️(Tickets are cheaper online rather than purchasing at the gates) 🎟️ 🍁🍂As with each season, we get an opportunity to witness the sites with different backdrops. After this trip, Rock City in the fall may be my favorite time to visit! The mountains were on full display painted with the most saturated and vivid colors. With the stark contrast between the blue sky, multicolored leaves, and the Lovers Leap waterfall altogether made the most breathtaking view! At the top, we all enjoyed hot cocoa admiring the view from Cafe 7 patio while our teens enjoyed getting local art surprise goodies out of the Art-O-Mat in the gift shop. As we ventured back down, we embraced the magical experience of walking through stone archways that guided us on our way through this enchanted mountain. We got glimpses of the gnomes and their treasures that are hidden in and along the mountainside. Lastly, we ventured into Fairy Land Caverns that transported you into a nostalgic fairytale that made us all feel young again with our eyes wide with wonder. This adventure is great for all ages! ⚠️A warning if you have any joint or ambulation difficulties, fear of tight spaces, or heights, be mindful you will have to walk through narrow crevices in the mountain, across a suspended rope bridge, and down steep stairs that may be slippery when wet.

Wow. This is an amazing outdoor experience. It was the dream of a couple in the 1930s to share their love of whimsical fairytales integrated seamlessly into a natural rock face. It’s ornate, wholesome and educational. Their Christmas light display is the best I have ever seen. I would like to make this a yearly tradition. I believe it’s worth the higher entrance fee. However, it is not very accessible for strollers, wheelchairs or those with mobility issues. Otherwise, 100:10 recommend.

This is a must see if you are in the Chattanooga area!! I’ve lived in East TN my entire life and just now made it to see Rock City. The views are spectacular! We absolutely loved the multiple trails and hidden gems throughout the scenery. This is such a unique place with a ton of history. The price is fair and the staff are all amazing. We didn’t get to try any food while we were here but it looked great as well. I highly recommend visiting!!

The Chattanooga Market is a vibrant outdoor marketplace that takes place on Sundays, offering a wide variety of food and craft vendors, art displays, and live music. It originally started in 2001 as a platform for local farmers, artisans, and food vendors to directly sell their products to consumers. The market has since expanded to include two locations with food booths from some of Chattanooga's best eateries.
This market is so cool! I was so excited to visit here and yes it was busy but so worth it. There was fresh fruit & vegetables, honey, and a ton of vendors from pickle makers, tomato sauces, jewelry and clothing, metal art and so much more Even though I gotta travel from Huntsville - I will make my way for this market from time to time! Tons of food markets and just a fun family day out! Parking is nearby and there is a fee, you’ll need to download the parking app but there was street parking too but a fee as well.

Visited this market today and coincidentally the Oktoberfest was also happening at the same time and it was a pleasant experience! Lots of good food , beer , and all sorts of different crafts and local vendors to explore! Good experience! My wife and I ate and drank and walked the entire market and bought a few items that appealed to us ! Definitely worth checking out to enjoy the experience! Would recommend to locals and travelers like myself!

Lots of great and fresh local foods from farms and bakeries etc. Local art and decor. Lots of samples at the many booths. Very freindly and kind people working and visiting. Live music to enjoy and its free to go to.. they have weekly themes and its always exciting to go visit or shop or eat at the many many stands or food trucks.

A variety of things to explore, from flowers to fresh produce and homemade lotions and oils. Easy access for strollers or wheelchairs, it's crowded but aisles are wide enough to get around. After you're done shopping you can grab a bite at one of the many food trucks on-site. This market is not open during the winter.

So Much Fun — A Must-Visit Market! I had an amazing time here! From the food to the unique selections brought by vendors, everything was fantastic. What stood out the most were all the flower vendors — I wish I could have taken all the beautiful flowers and plants home, but I had flown in. The market has so much to offer: farm-fresh eggs, raw milk, meats, sausages, and a wide variety of foods. I also loved all the fire glass, homemade goodies, and handmade purses. Pro tip: come with money because you will definitely walk out with way more than you planned! This market is a true gem for anyone who loves fresh, local, and unique finds.

Many vendors are on site, from fresh produce to handmade crafts, so there’s plenty to see and shop. Parking is $2 an hour, and I easily found a spot.

The Chattanooga Choo Choo Historic District is a charming and vibrant area that offers a unique blend of history, entertainment, and dining. Visitors can explore the beautifully restored historic buildings, which now house shops, restaurants, and accommodations. The district is also home to the famous Terminal Station, where guests can stay in authentic train cars converted into hotel rooms.
We stopped here to use the restroom and were pleasantly surprised to find how adorable it was! We ended up walking the entire station. There were small shops selling coffee and cocktails, as well as gift shops and a relaxing area to take in the ambiance. The ladies’ restroom was particularly charming and spotlessly clean! In the back of the station, there was a hotel with a pool. Overall, it was a great stop!
Brandy D — Google review
This district has within it "The Hotel Chalet". One of the unique aspects of this hotel is the availability of fully refurbished Pullman train cars you can can choose to sleep in instead of a traditional room. They are very luxurious in their styling with modern amenities but yet have a flare for the past in their appearance. Sleep 2-4 but can accommodate many visiting guests. Another outstanding business here is a restaurant called Elsie's Daughter. Snuggled around some of the before mentioned Pullman cars, this eatery has fine food with indoor and outdoor seating in a cozy courtyard that has an elegant feel about it. There is a swimming pool, fire pit, and, at the time of my visit, had a DJ playing music near the pool. Several other places to eat and shop are also there, I think you will enjoy taking a stroll around this historic area, so why not stop by for a visit.

Cute area in downtown to walk around, grab a drink and look at the old train cars and pond. Not much to do here during the day but to walk around but I’m sure it’s a fine place during the evening and if they did events here for kids, it would be a lot of fun!
Mandy U — Google review
Sadly they have ruined this landmark. Most of the train cars are gone. They have cover up most of the historical architecture with sheet rock. Water fountains are gone. Somebody has painted a head of Darth Vader on the wall. The sidewalks are nasty. Theres a big piece of green carpet where gardens and trains once set. Good job Chattooga. At least I have memories of a time when the Choo Choo was an elegant place to visit. There is nothing left here to celebrate the train history of the past.
Larry S — Google review
Seeing the train was a dream come true!! It was sad that it was rusting and that the wood was rotting. It is a true American landmark and should be repaired as needed. It was a beautiful area. In my opinion it needs more shops around and not as many bars. It would be an amazing family experience and destination if there were more cute shops. It would bring so many more people in to enjoy the area and awesome Choo Choo!!

Chattanooga Whiskey Experimental Distillery, established in 2015, stands out with its innovative approach to crafting unique batches of bourbon. The distillery offers guided tours for a fee, providing visitors with an opportunity to explore the facility and sample their exclusive whiskey blends. With a small operation capacity of only 100 gallons, Chattanooga Whiskey uses this limitation to experiment with different ingredients and techniques, resulting in one-of-a-kind varieties of whiskey.
Had an amazing time here! Brought my nephew here who was visiting from out of town. Learning of the history and experiencing the distillery was great! Deborah was a great tour guide! She has extensive knowledge and a passion for the brand. The bartenders were awesome and the flight was a great opportunity to taste what they make and sell. Definite Must see in any Chattanooga tour!

We did the tour and tasting today and had such an incredible time with Patrick and Ben! We were the only two on the tour and it was a fun, personalized experience. Patrick was so knowledgeable about the history of the distillery and the processes behind making whiskey—I was so impressed. Ben guided us through our tasting after the tour and made great recommendations of things to try. My bf left with a bottle of the Founder’s Blend Whiskey. It was so fun to learn something new and these guys made it an absolute blast. Cheers!!

We really enjoyed our visit. We decided to do a tasting, $18 to sample 7 whiskies, and me and my wife split it. The bartender did an excellent job of explaining each type of whiskey before we tried them. The bar area is a nice place to sit, sip and relax, We didn't have time for the tour.... They also have an outside seating area. Cool spot!

The Southern Belle Riverboat in Chattanooga offers a variety of specialty cruises, including the standard Sights Cruise and the romantic Sunset Cruise. The boat, built in 1985, provides sightseeing trips along the Tennessee River and offers dining cruises with full meals, live entertainment, and a tour of the pilot house. After a ride on the riverboat, visitors can enjoy dinner at nearby restaurants with patio seating while taking in views of the Chattanooga skyline.
We had the very best time on our Fall Foliage excursion!! We are so looking forward to our Dining/Dancing trip in December!! The staff was excellent from the moment you step inside the gift shop and the wonderful restaurant on second floor was amazing!! Everyone aboard the Southern Belle was so awesome!! The music was great!! The Captain was extremely knowledgeable about the history and we truly enjoyed listening to his stories!!
Addie M — Google review
The first stop for the boat ride was the gift shop. They had us arrive way too early (which is smart on their part as they have tons of stuff for sale.) We were each given a mini moon pie as a gift . There were four of us and they gave us all the same flavor. That was a bummer. I would have been nice to get a variety. It may have spurred us to buy some if we liked them. We did not care for the blueberry she gave us. No A/C on this boat and it was hot outside so it was warm inside with only some fans blowing. We had a family member in a wheelchair so we did not get to enjoy the musician playing on the upper deck. I should rephrase, some of the family did get to hear the musician as they did go up and check out the upper deck. It is a nice cruise and if I did it again I would chose a later time where the colors of the trees were changing and the temperatures were cooler. All of the workers were nice - there was a bartender on our level and the captain and another uniformed fella at the entrance as everyone was boarding.
Jenny U — Google review
We went on the luncheon Fall 3 hour tour. This was a casual, relaxing time. Arriving 1 hour before allowed plenty of time to check in, use the restrooms and wander in the large gift shop. There were also places to sit and play some games while waiting. No rush needed to board as our table was reserved. The live music was wonderful. Food was very good. Then there was Bingo, if you desired, or wander the boat and catch the views. The narration after lunch was very interesting. The only downside was that the rooms were very cold. It was warmer outside (but a jacket was still needed). Dress warmly.
Elaine — Google review
Have been on the boat 3 times now but this is the first 3HR Fall Foliage cruise. As always the staff on and off the boat were very nice and helpful. Captain Mike and Sean are always fun. We got to see several different birds including a Bald Eagle!! The leaves haven’t really started to change yet but it was still a very nice trip except for some of the other passengers. I just wish there was an ADULTS ONLY Foliage cruise. Two families let their brats run around screaming the entire cruise while the parents boozed it up at the 3rd and 1st deck bars. Other than that it was a great time.
Chris — Google review
The Southern Belle is a neat spot on the river with a lot to offer beyond just cruising. The interior is comfortable and well-kept, with plenty of seating. Outside you’ll find pool tables and a nice space to relax with a view of the water. Inside, there’s a general store on the first floor and a full restaurant upstairs, which makes it feel more like a destination than just a boat ride. Not sure if the river cruises run as often as they used to, but the atmosphere onboard is still enjoyable whether you’re there to eat, shop, or just hang out. Overall, it’s a solid place to spend a couple of hours if you’re exploring downtown Chattanooga and want something a little different.
Jonte M — Google review
I had such a good time on this cruise – what a great experience! I came to Chattanooga to visit my sister, and we chose to do this sunset cruise on one of the nights while I was visiting. The weather could not have been more perfect, as the large ship made its slow circle along the Tennessee riverbanks . We were treated to a gorgeous sunset, and we were seated on the uppermost deck, so we had an unobscured view. We were also lucky to have a musician who played his guitar and sang golden oldies that were familiar to probably most of us on deck. It was the perfect background music to listen to, sing along with, and underscore the relaxing experience that we were having. I could not have been more pleased with this voyage! Highly recommend :-)
Deb S — Google review
Had a lovely cruise on the Southern Belle. Made new friends sitting on the top deck viewing the turning leaves, the bald eagles, beautiful homes and the timeless river. The narration on the return trip was informative and entertaining. Even though it was a bit misty when we departed, the upper deck, while open, is covered so we were cozy. Highly recommend this trip for leaf peepers!

Hiking Trails
Tennessee Riverpark, also known as Tennessee Riverwalk, is a 10-mile landscaped trail that runs along the Tennessee River from Chickamauga Dam to downtown Chattanooga. The park features public art, picnic tables, and fishing piers. It was part of a $750 million investment plan to develop and transform the riverfront, which included the addition of the popular Tennessee Aquarium in 1992.
The river park and all included areas are such a great thing for the city. This area has plenty of play space, open grass area, and fire pits with grills. Plenty of piers to fish if that is your thing, plenty of art, plenty of playground things for the kids to have fun. There is an area that can be rented if you want to reserve the park. This area specifically is next door to the marine corps reserve center where there was a significant disaster about decades ago ago. This park has erected a beautiful memorial for those that had lost their life in that specific event. Great place to visit.

I love the Riverwalk. It's great for walking, biking, running, and skating. Every time I go, I discover something new. There are lots of picnic areas, fishing spots, boat launches and most importantly BATHROOMS along the route. It's very well kept. People seem to do a good job picking up after themselves, their children, and pets. The Parks Dept does a great job too!

Historical place
Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park is a significant historical site that commemorates two Civil War battles. It is the oldest and largest military park in the United States, covering various sections of land on both sides of the Tennessee-Georgia border. The area played a crucial role during the Civil War due to its strategic location and railroads. Visitors can explore the park's trails, visit the visitor centers, and even tour an archeological site.
Definitely a must-see! The exhibits are well done and there is much to see and learn. The young ranger giving the presentation on the battles did a wonderful job. There is access to several trails which are otherwise very difficult to park near, so can easily make a whole day out of this place if you also want to hike.
Jenna F — Google review
There are incredible views from lookout mountain. You will get a great perspective of the surrounding geography and a better understanding of the battles in the Chattanooga campaign. The welcome center has a good exhibit that is informative. There is about a half mile trail on the summit. There are several challenging longer trails available for the adventurous. Including some 3 to 9 miles out and back.

Cool lookout with easy parking and walk-up access to viewpoint. Perfect for those who want to drive to a lookout bus hiking. Per some locals I chatted with while there, there are hiking trails around the area too. I was short on time due to a work trip, but now I want to go back and do some hiking!

If you’re searching for a spot that blends breathtaking scenery with a dash of local history, Lookout Point is an absolute must-visit. Perched high above the landscape, it offers panorama views that make you feel like you’re standing at the edge of the world. Sunsets here don’t just glow—they ignite the entire horizon. What really elevates the experience is the historical depth woven into the place. Lookout Point has long served as a natural vantage point, used for centuries by early travelers, surveyors, and even Indigenous communities who recognized its strategic height and sweeping visibility. In the early 1900s, as the area developed, the point became a favored destination for weekend picnics, stargazing nights, and scenic drives. Some of the original stonework and trail markers still remain, giving the area a timeless charm. Today, it continues to be a beloved spot for hikers, photographers, history buffs, and anyone who wants a quiet escape. The trails are well-kept, the air feels crisp, and the soundscape is a blend of wind, birds, and quiet awe from other visitors. Whether you’re capturing the view through a camera lens or simply taking a moment to breathe, the place has a way of grounding you. Verdict: If you’re anywhere nearby, don’t just think about visiting—go. Bring a camera, bring someone you like, or just bring yourself. Lookout Point is one of those places that leaves you a little different than when you arrived.

Visually stunning. Beautiful and lovely little town atop the hill, a neighborhood to envy. The park is historic and breathtakingly picturesque. It made the rest of the driving less grueling.

Ruby Falls is a must-see attraction in Chattanooga, offering a guided cave tour that leads to a breathtaking 145-foot underground waterfall. Visitors descend 620 feet via an elevator and then walk through the ancient cave system of Lookout Mountain before reaching the stunning waterfall, which is illuminated with lights and accompanied by stirring music. The temperature inside the cave remains around 70 degrees with humidity throughout the year. This eco-friendly attraction also boasts being the first in the U.S.
I visited Ruby Falls and it was such a cool experience! The cave walk was interesting, and the waterfall at the end was absolutely beautiful. The lighting made it look magical. It’s a bit of a hike through the cave, but totally worth it once you see the falls. Definitely recommend checking it out!

I recently visited Ruby Falls, and it was such an amazing experience! The cave scenery is absolutely gorgeous — every turn has stunning rock formations that look like animals and other unique shapes carved by nature over time. The highlight, of course, is the huge underground waterfall — it’s breathtaking and feels almost magical when the lights shine on it. Our tour guide made the trip even better with funny jokes and interesting stories about the cave’s history. After the tour, I tried the food they sell there, and it was surprisingly good! Overall, Ruby Falls is definitely a place everyone should visit — beautiful, fun, and unforgettable.

This place is awesome. The story behind the discovery is also really neat. Walt was our tour guide and provided plenty of corny jokes (highly appreciated) and a lot of great facts. He interacted very well with the entire group. Not sure if you can request specific guides, but if you can, ask for Walt. The cave is appropriately lit and there is good footing. Handrails are placed in areas that are a little slippery. If you're taller than 6', prepare to duck a lot. It's not that bothersome. Just a little annoying. The rock formations are really cool and a bunch of them are named. We got the waterfall on a good day as it had rained recently. The drier it's been, the less water than runs through it. The gift shop is stocked with a bunch of different rocks and branded merchandise. They have a restaurant as well, but we had dinner reservations elsewhere. Make sure you stop in if you're in the area. Military Discount: On service members ticket

Absolutely GORGEOUS! Loved the experience! HOWEVER! I did not get up to the railing to see the actual waterfall, because they shut the lights off! I was told we would have a 1 min warning. Never heard it. So I helped a few couples take some pictures since I thought I had time. 😭 I never got to see it up close before they turned the lights out. Very disappointed 😔

Worth a visit. Lot of history behind the discovery of falls. Guided tour was helpful. Not long wait times. It's a long walk in the narrow cave to get to the falls but it's worth it. Restaurant, restrooms are available, ample parking on site.

We absolutely love this place! They have beautiful trails for hiking or even driving on, canoeing and native plants you can purchase. Cory Hagen took us on a tour to see the red wolves, bobcat, and sand hill crane. He was very knowledgeable. We walked on several trails around and past the lake and saw the beautiful wildflowers in bloom. Everyone here was so nice and friendly. We hope to come back soon!

I did a wildlife encounter last weekend. The guide was wonderful and very informative and engaging, and we really enjoyed the experience. They have some very cool animals like red wolves and a bobcat. It’s very clear they care for the animals well and have conservation in mind. I want to come back!

The cost of membership to reflection riding is well worth the price for canoeing alone, but there are so many other things available including hiking, classes, summer camps, The Wildflower Gardens and greenhouses where you can buy native wildflower plants not to mention the wildlife sanctuary where they have several injured animals that they keep to teach and inform people. Memberships are how this place stays operational and apparently they have been in business since the seventies helping to teach conservation and such. The staff are also wonderful. Shout out to Will at the front desk. Brianna who gave us the tour in the wildlife sanctuary. And Paige who runs the Wildflower Gardens.

We'd never been there before and we enjoyed a lovely walk through well groomed trails on Tuesday afternoon and returned to do it again Wednesday before heading home! What a gem of a place to reflect, walk and enjoy nature. Chattanooga is blessed to have this.

My partner and I visited Reflection Riding yesterday and it was just such a wonderful experience. First, we got to meet Vlad, the cutest and most gorgeous black vulture, and Danielle, his handler, on the vulture walk. It was a busy day with a kids birthday party going on but Vlad did amazing and taught us so much :) I really loved how attentive Danielle was to him and put his needs above all else. We then got to see all the animal ambassadors RR is taking care of, included the critically endangered red wolf! Then, I spent way too much time at the native plant nursery and bought some plants of my own to take home. This place does spectacular work for conservation and educates the community while keeping the wellbeing of their animals and plants above all else. This place truly made me so happy, and I will be visiting and supporting them more in the future! Everyone, go give Vlad some love and do the vulture walk, you’ll fall in love just like I did 🖤

Yesterday I went for a walk in the woods after a rainstorm. It was a magical fall afternoon with colors, fog, cool clean air, and a walk that was as easy or as hard as I wanted to make it. I could have gone all the way up to sunset rock but stayed a little closer due to time restraints. There is a lot to learn and gain from even short visits! Here is what I learned yesterday: a "stag" is a tall stump (maybe up to 12') that is left after a tree is cut down. This allows for a property owner to remove the threat of a dead tree but leave habitat for cool birds, raccoons, native bugs, and more.

Nice wide trails, fairly well marked. Trees are well identified with plaques. Shaded trails and lots of trees. Easy hiking

Audubon Acres is a serene park nestled along a creek, offering over five miles of picturesque nature trails adorned with seasonal wildflowers and opportunities for wildlife spotting. The park provides various outdoor activities such as tubing, swimming, canoeing, hiking, birdwatching, and kayaking. Established in 1944 by naturalist Robert Sparks Walker, the sanctuary encompasses multiple areas including the Trail of Tears and Audubon Island.
We came to this hidden gem last Thursday for my daughter's field trip. The kids learned about what life was like back for the pioneers, a bit about agriculture and food preservation, cooking (they even got to try the johnny cakes and apple butter, and even learned how to make rope! My daughter absolutely adored the animals and speaking with The Pony Lady. Thank you all for keeping this important piece of history alive.

We had a great experience visiting this tranquil nature park that is kinda like a hidden jewel situated just two miles from a very busy major shopping area. The trails are well marked and maintained plus they offer trail maps at the rustic and friendly welcome center which has a wealth of nature information. Our visit happened to coincide with two school buses of a field trip for elementary students but hearing their excitement and seeing their smiles made our experience all the more enjoyable. The swinging bridge across the large creek was an awesome plus on the trail that had a few flowers blooming along the way. We plan to visit again because we only visited half of what it offers!

A nice walk in the woods. The trails are well marked, but don’t lose your map. There is no exit or return to parking lot sign. They have placed a significant amount of benches along the trails so anyone should be able to walk it without getting too tired. Good shoes are recommended no flip-flops since it’s been raining it’s kind of mushy. Lotta roots not recommended for someone that isn’t stable on their feet. Not that it’s a difficult incline learning thing is just gets narrow and pretty primitive. Cute little gift shop. Nice volunteers to chat with.

Very cool park. We took the wonderland trail to the suspension bridge that goes over the South Chickamauga Creek. Lots of wild flowers and even wildlife like turtles to see. Even ran into a local volunteer group called Tennessee Naturalists. They were doing some studies on wildlife in the water today. My only complaint was they do reenactments and don't inform the public so firing fake shots on the trail is kind of alarming and being told to get off the trail was off-putting.

My brother had his dog as we were visiting from another state, and didn't know the rules yet. Multiple workers freaked out about it, even though the dog wasn't going on the trails but still in the car. The lady at the counter seemed to try to be cool about it but another lady came in and kept whispering about it in front of us which felt awkward so we left the visitor's center. This was disappointing because they had cool relics I would have liked to check out but it was uncomfortable. We could all hear her and it felt like we weren't welcome. The dog wasn't misbehaving while we were in there. A third worker felt it necessary to make another scene about it outside near the trail. We understood with the first lady, we didn't take the dog to the trail. Also, I thought it would be more chill and quiet like an Audubon sanctuary that we could enjoy the sounds of nature, but there were a lot of screaming kids, loud airplanes and a train cuts through. It seemed more like an expensive, random, anti-dog playground/park than a nature place. There were a few nature signs out on the trail but that was it. I'll give it three stars since I did get to hear a nuthatch on the way back to the car.

Wonderful hidden gem in eastern Chattanooga. Visitor's center has a fascinating museum and there are a variety of hiking trails. Brought a college class here and we had an amazing interpretive hike led by Ava, who helped contextualize the Native American history of the area. Recommended!

We really enjoyed our visit here courtesy of the Katie Lamb library pass. There are several great spots to get in the water and play out in nature. They do offer complimentary mosquito spray at the visitor center, you will need it or bring your own. The mosquitos are dense here.

Visited for a school field trip. Upon arrival staff yelled from the visitor center instead of directing traffic at the gate. Upon pulling through the gate staff rudely said “you have a line of car behind you” This was our first time here and didn’t know where designated parked was bc they did not have CLEARLY marked signs. This was the first point of contact we had with employees thus the rest to the trip we didn’t feel welcome and felt uninviting. Seems like a really gorgeous place, but will not be going back or recommending this place for future field trips for our county schools.

I took 2 groups of 100 students, and it was AMAZING! I'm not a Chattanooga native and I learned so much about the history of the city. I honestly think anyone visiting Chattanooga should take an hour out of their trip and visit here!

A Powerful and Personal Cultural Experience The Bessie Smith Cultural Center is an incredible place that showcases the deep and vibrant history of African Americans in Chattanooga. What made my visit especially unforgettable was the chance to meet artist Bobby Puryear, whose work is featured in the gallery. He graciously shared the story and meaning behind his piece, offering a powerful perspective on its historical roots and personal significance. The center is thoughtfully curated, and the staff were friendly and passionate about the space. It’s more than just a museum , it’s a living tribute to culture, creativity, and community. A must-visit if you’re in Chattanooga.

The tour guide was excellent. He was able to communicate the back stories to the museum's extra-ordinary exhibits. I went with my family as part of the Barber family reunion's Saturday activities. I wanted to stay longer and read all the exhibits' placards. I highly recommend you visit this museum.

Bessie Smith Cultural Center is located on Martin Luther King Blvd. There is free parking in a small lot behind the building. The center is expanding it's exhibits, but it retains it's vibrant local African American history. The museum has a very nice rental hall and hosts some excellent community and cultural events.

While on a research trip I included the Bessie Smith Cultural Center as I passed through Chattanooga. I was so pleasantly surprised at the overall high quality of this exhibit. The timeline, layout, and flow is superb. You start with the Indians on the Trail of Tears accompanied by African Americans and end with Critical Race Theory. You can not get more inclusive than that. The flow of the timeline is logical and natural. The quantity and quality of the displays are great. I took several pics of “learn more” opportunities which I’ve already begun to research. Bring the kids, there is an interactive children area. There is also ample area to sit as you pass through and several video displays to watch. My chance to rest a moment, awesome. At the end there is an African tribal mask display and video as a bonus. Bathrooms are clean and well maintained. Parking is free but there isn’t a ton of it. Pay street parking is all around. I recommend a walk down MLK to enjoy the many murals. The staff was superb and informative. BSCC could be a destination for your family without a doubt!

I have only been inside once or twice since I've moved back to Chattanooga in 89. I found it to be quite interesting. one thing that I appreciate other than the large parking area is the fact that they allow John rector and the people at Union Gospel Mission to serve Thanksgiving and Christmas meals each year. They've done this now for about 10 years. The place gives a very iinteresting history lesson and I recommend people visit when they can.

You didn’t feel like you were missing out on anything. Jason was very knowledgeable in the history of the city. I loved getting to see The Reed Hotel,,.. completely obsessed with the history of the building. Definitely gotta check out room 311. I do wish we had got some more haunted places and stories than the few we got. But next trip we will book with Jason again.. an maybe see what else they offer. The Chattanooga National Cemetery, established in 1863, is a picturesque military burial ground filled with the graves of veterans. This historic site is adorned with monuments and memorials, making it one of Tennessee's most captivating locations for those who hold deep reverence for their ancestors. Created during the American Civil War to honor fallen Union soldiers, this vast 120-acre cemetery offers a unique opportunity to witness three significant battlegrounds from that era: Missionary Ridge, Lookout Mountain, and Chattanooga.
Beautiful, scenic, and expertly maintained. I stopped here to see the unique monument to the Andrew’s Raiders and made a few stops around the hill admiring the scenic vistas and sobering reminders of history.

The Chattanooga National Cemetery is such a beautiful place. It is open to all who served this country and were honourable discharged and their spouses. Graveside services are limited to 15 minutes and done at one of two pavilions.

Beautiful and inspiring! Personally, these gorgeous cemeteries always remind me of the debt I owe to all those buried there. Without them, our lives would be drastically different. Their resting place should be beautiful and should promote respect and reverence. This cemetery captures the very essence of those feelings. Great place to go pay your respect and beautiful to photograph as well.

Stop by to pay honor to all these people who fought for our country. Some of the ones that most people will recognize are the men of Andrews Raiders who Disney made a move about "The Great Locomotive Chase" and Desmond Doss whos story was told in the move "Hacksaw Ridge." To bad everyone story could not be told in some form like this.

It's a cemetery, not a tourist attraction. It is full of historical significance but it is, first of all, a cemetery to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country and for those who, at one time, wrote a blank check to their nation.

AT&T Field is the home of the Chattanooga Lookouts, a beloved minor league baseball team in downtown Chattanooga. The 6,000-seat stadium offers an affordable and entertaining experience for both locals and visitors. With tickets starting at just $10, it's a budget-friendly night out with plenty of cheap beer to enjoy. From April to September, fans can catch games at AT&T Field and take advantage of special deals on drinks and meals.
Hands down the coolest way to spend a Sunday or an evening too. The best part about this place is the staff. The prep and vp share an awesome sense of helping and involvement with the staff and the crowd. These guys and gals really make you feel welcomed and the park is as fun as it can be. Super glad Chattanooga has something special like this. The new ball park opens next year and while we will be excited about it we will miss the old one also no doubt.
Malcolm G — Google review
While I had an enjoyable time (I mean…it’s a ballgame), this stadium does NOT compare well with other parks. It’s old, and feels it. Feels pieced together. There is absolutely no shade. Can barely see the field, due to direct sun down first baselines….which I specifically asked the ticket seller about. Really mediocre food options. The view of the mountains is (eventually) nice. One terrific element for kids, is the ability to greet and talk to players entering the field, down the right field line. Long term, though, they need a new ballpark. Particularly at the AA level….
Mike B — Google review
I had an absolutely unforgettable time at the Chattanooga Lookouts game during their World Softball Night event! From the moment we stepped into AT&T Field, the energy was electric and the atmosphere was full of excitement. The stadium was buzzing with families, fans, and softball enthusiasts all coming together to celebrate the sport we love. The Lookouts did a phenomenal job organizing this special night. Everything from the themed festivities to the player interactions showed just how much thought and care went into making the event memorable. I especially loved how they honored softball players of all levels. The game itself was packed with action and entertainment. The Lookouts played with heart, and the crowd was all in—cheering, singing, and living in the moment. Between innings, there were great games, giveaways. The food was on point too—ballpark classics with that Chattanooga charm. And you just can’t beat that view of the city skyline behind the outfield. Whether you’re a die-hard baseball fan, a softball lover, or just looking for a great night out in the city, this event knocked it out of the park. Huge shoutout to the Chattanooga Lookouts staff for making World Softball Night one to remember. I can’t wait to go back!

This is an amazing historical stop and should be made by history buffs and sight seekers alike. The views are spectacular. $10 to get in and worth it. National historical park. The museum is small but informative. There are miles of trails but they are pretty steep. The main n park is a half mile trail that is accessible and an easy walk.

This place was incredible, almost magical! It feels like you are walking in a park at the edge of the world. Was clean, uncrowded and very reasonably priced as it is run by the national park service. There is even a museum across the street you can visit as well! The trail loops down to a museum within the park and comes back up. The drive up to Point Park / Lookout Mountain is a gorgeous little winding road lined with beautiful homes and an extensive view. Once you get to the top, the roads are a little tight, and I can see that parking may sometimes be a bit of an issue. However, we went midday on a Friday in April, which seems like it wasn't a super busy time. I am not a huge war history buff, but even so, this is still a nice and interesting place to visit. Of course, the first thing that draws you in is the large fort/castle like entrance. . . then once you get inside the view immediately draws you in. Expansive view of the river and Chattanooga below, and the ridgeline where the battles took place. Following a paved sidewalk, you'll notice a large monument on a hill. If you keep following the sidewalk, it brings you to stone steps that lead down to a little museum with another view point. I don't believe this area or section is wheelchair accessible, so just be aware. However, there are other places to take in the views.
Nicole N — Google review
Due to govt. shutdown, the park is closed. Best time ever!!! We had the whole park to ourselves on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Just had to hop the wall, lol.

Lovely park and beautiful view. I'm personally terrified of heights, so I only made it as far out as the cannons, but even the view from as far back as there is stunning. The park ranger there was incredibly kind and informative. There are trails that lead down for different vantage points, which my husband did take. However, word to the wise, if you're not used to the elevation, take your time walking back, as it's a tad harder to catch your breath!

On a hot day, this ice cream shop is the perfect escape! The flavor selection is tempting and unique. I tried the guava—the fruity taste is fresh and natural, creamy and delicious! The lavender and carrot cake flavors were also surprisingly good—distinct yet very enjoyable. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the place itself was clean and cozy. A great spot to chill and enjoy a sweet treat. Definitely coming back!

I was told Clumpies was a staple in Chattanooga and I can see why. I really enjoyed the unique flavor options!! They let us sample to decide what to do! Our favorite was the corn flake crunch and blueberry pie. It was creamy and flavorful!! I like that it was a local chain and there are locations all over the city. I would for sure go back every time I am in town. It is a little pricey but worth the splurge! You won’t regret devouring this great ice cream!

Every time we walked by, there was a line out the door, and we finally decided to brave it. Unfortunately, the staff seemed inefficient and there was no real sense of urgency, which only added to the wait—no wonder there’s always a line! The ice cream flavors were mostly basic, with just a few unique options. I found it a bit overpriced, but the ice cream did taste good. Overall, it feels a bit like a tourist trap, but if you’re craving ice cream, it’s worth it.

Would absolutely come for a date night treat, family time, or even just with friends! I can see why it has great reviews and came recommended by locals. Absolutely would visit again. Check it out!

Stopped to visit Chattanooga for the day and watch soccer. I love trying local ice cream places. We decided on Clumpies. They were out of some flavors and the ones that looked amazing on their top list were not available. I went for a sundae with their malted pretzels and homemade caramel. I got one scoop of coffee toffee and cookies and cream. The coffee toffee was really good but the cookies in the cookies in cream had a strange taste. The malted pretzels and the homemade caramel was the star of the show!!

The Tennessee Riverwalk is a 16.1-mile paved path that runs along the southern bank of the Tennessee River from downtown Chattanooga to the Chickamauga Dam. It's a popular spot for activities like jogging, cycling, and skating, with picnic tables and playgrounds along the way. The trail offers beautiful views of waterfront homes and lush trees. While some visitors have noted occasional issues with signage and accuracy of maps, many appreciate its smooth surface, clear signage, and clean facilities.
Absolutely beautiful. Bike station are place all along route, very convenient, lots of things to see and do along the way.

This is a great spot for many different reasons. It’s a great spot for fishing, exercising, and even just taking a walk. It has access to the river as well as a nice sidewalk. There were alot of bike riders but it was nice in general. The sidewalks aren’t really wide but good enough.
David N — Google review
This trail runs through downtown and has countless twist and turns and you may actually become confused at some point. When I was near the Hunter Museum, I didn’t know which way to go. Plus, there are too many people and dogs to enjoy cycling long distance. There are plenty of restrooms and places to rest etc. It’s very clean and seems very safe because it’s saturated with so many! I enjoy a trail ride where you don’t have to twist and turn etc. I would recommend riding on the South Chickamauga Creek Greenway. I enjoyed this ride much more. I did see Lookout Mountain and there were other views but this trail is not for me. I enjoy seeing the trees and being out in the open and not surrounded by concrete(concrete jungle)! I recommend parking at the Amnicola Marsh near Steel Warehouse. On the trail all it states to park at Ross Landing but this is paid parking which makes no sense because free parking all along trail. If you park where I recommended, go to the right towards steel company because this is longest part. If you go left the trail is maybe 3.5 miles long and filled with dogs and people!!!

We drove up from Georgia to ride the Riverwalk today. It was awesome! Smooth surface, clear signage, plenty of clean bathrooms, great views. One of the best urban bike trails we've ever ridden.

Located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the International Towing & Recovery Museum is a fascinating destination for those interested in the history of tow trucks. The museum showcases a gallery of early trucking equipment and features an outdoor Wall of the Fallen memorial as well as a gift shop. Visitors can explore restored antique wreckers and equipment from the tow truck industry, along with related toys, tools, and pictorial histories.
The 1st tow truck was invented right here in Chattanooga. The museum opened in 1995 and features dozens of fully restored tow trucks in display from vintage to modern. Tickets are $12 or $10 for seniors. You watch a 7 minute video, walk through 2 areas of vehicles, memorabilia and a ton of toys on display and walk through the Hall of Fame. The souvenir and gift shop was really neat, offering a variety a different and unique items. They also had a working tow truck for kids!! 👍 The worker was very helpful and gave us great ideas of places to visit. They had area magazines and maps available as well. Highly recommended!

From the outside you can easily drive by and not have a clue that you just passed a museum . ☆ I think they need a tow truck and better signage out front☆ to get more visitors. THIS IS A COOL PLACE TO VISIT. when my fiancé asked if I wanted to go to the tow trucks museum I thought ookkk, I wasn't as excited as he was about going ... Now I'm glad I did. They have a gift shop as you walk in the door and a tiw tru that tge kids can play on and operate the boom . Then you go into the movie room And watch a short film about the museum and some of the early tow trucks . Once you enter the first room you will be blown away With all the beautiful trucks and amazed how they have changed over the years . They have peddle cars and lots of older and so.e new toy tow trucks . I think not only will the Men but women and Children will enjoy seeing and learning about the tow trucks as well I think it will give you a little more respect for the job that they do. The staff are helpful and friendly. Go check it out .

Wow, what a fascinating display of tow truck. You start with a short video. Less than 10 min, then you are free to roam the tow truck halls. There are 2 levels. No touching please. The vintage tow trucks are in amazing shape. All if them are very cool. They even let you sit the the Kei car tow truck. Very cool place to go.

I definitely have been wanting to go to this place for an extremely long time. It was absolutely worth it. It's very powerful place especially on the outside with the wall of the fallen. Because some people don't understand it. They don't understand that those aren't just names on a wall. Those are someone's loved ones. That made the ultimate sacrifice to help somebody else out that was in need. Me personally I drove her tow truck for 15 years so I had my fair share of close calls. People nowadays really need to understand the slow down and move over. But going into the museum you definitely learn a lot. Especially with the quick video, with it being the birthplace of towing. Going through the museum you see the old school stuff right up front and it's just amazing we're towing came from, to where it is today with all the modern technology and hydraulics. So it's definitely a really cool learning experience. You see a lot of cool stuff in there.

Songbirds is a non-profit foundation and live music venue in Chattanooga that opened in 2017. It features an astonishing collection of over 500 vintage and rare guitars, making it the world's largest assemblage of its kind. The museum showcases guitars from the 1950 Fender Broadcasters to the 1970s, including instruments played by rock legends like Chuck Berry, BB King, Bo Diddly, Roy Orbison, and Robbie Krieger of the Doors.
Such an awesome experience and a real gem to the Chattanooga community. You will be hard pressed to find a more passionate community of musicians that not only spends a tremendous amount of time preserving music and music history, but ones that are encouraging the youth in music. Absolutely love this place and highly recommend it to anyone!

This is my first time at songbirds, it's a great intimate venue I saw some live folk music, sound was great, air conditioning was amazing in the hot Tennessee summer, and the people working there were super nice. It's got a lot of interesting history and exhibits to look at while you're waiting for the show. Very enjoyable evening.

As the admin for a touring and, we play alot of clubs, bars, and festivals. Of all the places The Unsatisfied has played recently, Songbirds has to be one of the top teir best. We are always met with respect and integrity. The staff there are all kind and professional, James, Victoria, Mike, Saylor, Andres, Ryan, Spencer - thank you! The museum is amazing and presents a beautiful backdrop for our Tribe to visit. And the Foundation itself uses proceeds to provide programs that give kids access to music. Check out their work online, go see a show there or just visit the museum, if you are a band, reach out to them for booking. It is an experience we appreciate and recommend highly on all levels! ~Lysa

Such an awesome experience. Would out on the very top of your list of things to do in Chattanooga! Reviews were mixed so we weren’t really sure what to expect but the museum exceeded our expectations and then some! Beautiful museum-clean, well organized, informative with a lot of interactive exhibits. My 14 year old who’s very into guitars absolutely loved it. He was so intrigued throughout. Said of things we did in Chattanooga (Ruby Falls, Incline Railway, and Rock City) this was by far his favorite. While I’m not as in to music as he is, I also found it interesting and enjoyed the historical knowledge there and learning more about Chattanooga’s history too. Clean, modern space with polite, knowledgeable staff. Lovely bathroom facilities. And can’t beat it for $15! We spent about 3 hours enjoying the museum. I’d recommend allowing at least 2 but honestly, even if you’ve just got an hour it’s worth the visit! Oh, and some other reviews mentioned the vault wasn’t open- it’s open now and it’s super cool!

Nature & Parks
Renaissance Park, located adjacent to Coolidge Park in Chattanooga, spans 23 acres and is primarily composed of restored wetlands that were once heavily polluted due to industrial activity. The park now showcases clear water and a thriving ecosystem, serving as a testament to environmental restoration. It offers a serene urban escape with contemporary sculptures, well-maintained gardens, and scenic river views along the Tennessee River.
I’m so impressed with all the variety of plants in the park! The bees, birds, and wildlife make for a fun walk or run through the park. Clean, easy place to enjoy and exercise or play. Place to enjoy the view or workout or walk and talk. Coffee shops and restaurants to easily grab something after your fun.
Smmsands — Google review
What’s good? In contrast to the adjacent Coolidge Park, this park brings a little more nature and seclusion to the table. The area has a bit of a wetlands feel with the water being controlled in an artistic fashion that’s pleasing to the eye. Great spot to chill and escape the hustle and bustle of the area. What’s bad? My only critique is that I would rather the wetlands overlook path continued on as a complete bridge.

The park itself is great! The sledding hill is fun as long as you have a good piece of cardboard (better bring your own) and don’t hit any pot holes on the way down. Sadly, on our most recent visit, we noticed that someone wiped away a chalk drawing we had made about a week before. My fiancé and I had made a chalk drawing of Bingo from the show Bluey, hoping it would bring others a smile. We returned about a week later, it not having rained since our previous visit, but someone had washed or wiped away the drawing completely. I’m not sure how long anyone was able to enjoy it before it disappeared.

Restrooms were clean, and picnic tables were accesible and shaded, but overall, only 2 stars for two main reasons. Firstly, there was a slight smell of stagnant water which at first seemed to be coming from the restroom but I believe it was from the river nearby. Also, if you park here, MAKE SURE YOU PAY EXTRA. I made the mistake of paying only for the time I thought we would be there to eat our picnic, and when I got to the car, ONLY 10 minutes past the deadline, I found a $20 fine already posted on it. It was ridiculous considering 30 minutes more would have only cost $1. Seemed like they were just ready to pounce on one and desperate for money

High Point Climbing and Fitness - Downtown is a popular climbing facility that opened in December 2013. It offers 28,000 square feet of climbing space including lead, top-rope, and auto-belay walls, as well as a 15-meter speed-climbing wall. The gym also has areas for beginners, boulder pits, and adjustable walls. Professional climbers are available to teach skills to those new to the sport.
First time here but definitely not the last. The entire experience was wonderful from staff to the other climbers, how well the facility is kept. Nolan was incredibly kind, knowledgeable and patient with my little guy as he asked a bunch of non-climbing questions 😂 We ended up having to leave because I got a nose bleed (not climbing related) but literally everyone made that so simple! Staff and climbers alike helped me get cleaned up, got my son unhooked, even offered to help get the stains out of my clothes. When I say every interaction at the gym was incredible, I truly mean it. We'll be back again VERY soon. 💚

I don’t know about you, but I love supporting a business with incredible owners who really do care and want to make your experience a great one. We had the best time here!!! My five-year-old, eight-year-old, and my 35-year-old self thoroughly enjoyed everything it had to offer! The Kids Zone was so much fun, and there were also plenty of other rooms for advanced climbers! Make sure to visit when you’re in Chattanooga!
Allie S — Google review
Tall walls, great setting, pretty stiff grades. Everything you could want in a gym. Literally amazing. Only suggestions- moonboard setup seems like spacing isn’t correct. Having a moderate or hard climb on the outdoor glass wall would be cool
Ben O — Google review
Great value! A great day trip for adults or kids. I'm a bigger adult and even though I had to mostly climb in the kids area I didn't feel judged and had a blast! Our main goal was to attempt to climb the outside wall and upon going in we found it was closed. The 2 of adults and my 9 year old all had a great time! I went to the desk and asked about it and they opened it right up for us! Great customer service and the team will lead, teach, and answer any questions you have!
Stanton H — Google review
Went to this gym with some friends, and it was pretty fun. This was my first time at a rock climbing gym so I didn't know how to work any of the equipment there, but that didn't matter as our instructor Meg gave us an overview on how to work the autobelays. The bathrooms there are nice and clean. The free climbing areas were fairly safe as well. There is a parking garage literally built above the gym so when compared to other places in downtown Chattanooga it has easily accessible parking. All in all I'll probably come back next time I'm in town.
Joshua F — Google review
Overall, I think High Point is fun, especially for a children's activity. One ticket allows for re-entry the entire day. On your first visit, you sign a waiver and have an employee give you a tour. There are walls for adults, but we go to the children's room. But there is room for improvement. Our daughter has a fun tim, but the fun wears off fast. I don't climb, and there is only one wooden bench for seating, so it's not my favorite. Oftentimes, groups of adults will come take over the children's area, especially the building towers, and there is never staff monitoring or asking them to leave space for the children. That can be frustrating. The entrance is located next to Mellow Mushroom. Paid parking is available. Reservations are not required.
Britt C — Google review
Overall not bad. A ton of the footholds(especially on the top rope climbs) were so worn down that they were basically useless. Gym could use a solid cleaning and some new handholds/footholds because of the amount of daily traffic is really taking a toll. Bouldering had a nice variety of traditional climbs and comp style boulders. Grading seemed fairly reasonable for the boulders, the top rope climbs were slightly sandbagged but I didn’t mind. Most of the walls are short with a small selection of 9 long climbs for top rope. Still had a good time and would be back again if in the area.

Lake Winnepesaukah Amusement Park, also known as "Lake Winnie," is a long-standing family-friendly park located just outside downtown Chattanooga. With over 38 rides and a five-acre water park called SOAKYa, there's something for everyone to enjoy. From classic attractions like the Ferris wheel and carousel to thrilling rides such as the Cannon Ball roller coaster and the gravity-defying Genie, visitors can experience a mix of nostalgia and excitement.
Wonderful amusement park for all ages. My 3 and 1 year old could spend a week there and not get bored. Plenty of rides that little kids can go on, though most of them they will need an adult to ride with them. However there are still plenty of high thrill rides for teens and adults. The water park area is well-designed and well-staffed. I could personally spend the whole day in the water park area alone. The cannonball rollercoaster is great. The lines the day that we went weren't bad at all. Generally 5-10 minutes tops, if not less.
Emily F — Google review
Amusement park price for permanent carnival rides & 1 good old fashion wood coaster. It was the 1st and probably the last time my family & I will visit. Sadly, they did nothing for their 100 year anniversary, but what they need to do is shine up & fix up all the old rides they have. At least retouch up the paint on the ponies 🎠
Dbvfyjch E — Google review
It's a cute park, but its $45+ fixed price is absurd unless you have young kids. They need to go back to pay-per-ride. The only notable rides for teens/adults are the antique boat chute (purely a novelty) and ACE Landmark wooden coaster (actually pretty good depending where you sit). The rest you can experience at a carnival. Food was good and mostly affordable, charming location.
Karl M — Google review
The rides are fun, those that are open. The park itself is dirty as it gets. Avoid the restrooms behind the tilt a whirl. If we lived closer, its a place I'd buy the annual pass for quick day trips. Love that you can bring your own food and drinks. Huge cost advantage. A fun day with family for sure.

My son and I had a BLAST! They are doing their Halloween festivities now and they did not disappoint! They have a "Thriller parade" where the workers dance the Thriller dance the length of the park. It was cool! And their 2 haunted houses were very spooky too! The haunted train ride is always memorable as well. But my favorite this trip was that my 8 yr old son finally rode the Cannonball Rollercoaster for the 1st time with me! ❤️🤍💙🎃👻

Wow! The nostalgia. I used to visit Lake Winnie as a child. I remember my mother used to talk about her trips as a teen. I’ve not been in years, but as soon as I heard they have a Halloween theme every year I decided I had to go back. We were there on Halloween night. Park wasn’t as packed as I was expecting for it being Halloween. Everyone we interacted with was very friendly. Overall park and bathrooms were clean. Popcorn was tasty. Food was priced very reasonable. Haunts were spooky and fun, but not too scary. My only complaint is where are all the fun gift shops I remember as a child? We only saw one open and items were very limited. I was looking forward to browsing them. I plan on visiting again when park reopens. Hope there are more shops the next time. This place holds a lot of history and memories. I love how the park hasn’t been modernized. Looks like it did 30 years ago. If you want an updated park, go to Six Flags. Don’t mess with perfections. This place still has the old nostalgic feel. I would highly recommend a visit!

I love Lake Winnepesaukah! I have been going to Lake Winnie since I was a child. My son's first visit was to Spookah in 2010 the first year they had it. Lane was just a month old. We haven't missed a year. I also love the water park! the funnel cakes are the best! Can't wait till October!
Holly P — Google review
We went on the 4th of July 2025, and it was too crowded. They did have multiple trash cans assembled all over, but you could smell them a block away. They were not properly spraying the cans out when pulling bags out. The water park was way too overcrowded. The lazy river had so many people in it that you couldn't even see the water; people were lying on top of each other, basically. The lines to the water slides were so long you could maybe ride one of them 2x. Several rides everywhere needed updating maintenance, such as rusted areas, old paint falling off, scary rattling steps, nasty picnic tables that needed pressure washing, and several rides not working. The big wave from the lazy river was not working either. The bumper cars only had a few cars working, which made it no fun. When you would go back and forth between the water park and regular park, they were strict and mean about putting a shirt on, yet they didn't say a word about young girls walking around in thong swimsuits and the tops so skimpy they only covered their nipples. Not child-appropriate when this is a family place. The locker area smelled like rotten urine, as if people would pee when they were getting dressed over there. The whole park needed weed-eating so badly that grass and weeds had grown over everything. The miniature golf course, which charges an extra $4 to play, has mold and mildew all over the course, along with weeds growing out of the ball hole and fencing that needs painting or pressure washing; it's so nasty. It don't get me started with the games! These are such rip-offs and rigged. It's$3 a game and no matter how many people play you when the crappy little price is like a tiny plastic bead necklace. The Ferris wheel would only have 3 carts at a time when it's a 16-cart wheel. I don't know why that was, but it's been that way every time we've gone. We paid for the big cups that you could get $1 refills in, but it was almost impossible to get a refill. Funnel cakes have always been my favorite, but these young kids who make them don't know how to mix the batter properly or cook them right. They come out so thin and like a plate of little Krispies. The gift shop used to be a cool area while looking for what you wanna buy, but they had the exhaust fans that took hot air out and the air off, and it was hotter in there than outside. You didn't even want to look or buy anything. They have tables above the concession stand in front of the lake with big ceiling fans above, but they had those cut off and needed to be on bc it was about 97 degrees that day. In the bathrooms, they were out of a lot of soap. The poor workers were in that sun and heat with no fans except in a few areas. They used to keep the lake nice and clean-looking and sifted out where you could see the big catfish and turtles, but it was disgusting! Trees were overgrown, and stuff was not sanitized properly. This was my favorite place for years, but it's become overcrowded and run down. We spent about $600 to smell nasty stank everywhere. They weren't cleaning trash, etc, probably, and a lot of stuff was broken, rigged, or a rip-off. I'm so disappointed ☹️ I forgot to mention that the lazy river and water park needed cleaning because it was so cloudy looking and you could see pubic hairs, tons of leaves, and filth floating around. They needed more chlorine in the water. They have eating tables with umbrellas in the water park when you order food, but they are all taken up with people's towels, clothes, and shoes that are swimming and not eating. This needs to be stopped! My kids received a free Lake Winnie pass for good grades, but we couldn't use them; it had to be only on Tuesdays, which is hard for most parents to go during the work week. If you live in town and want something expensive to do for the weekend, then sure, go, but I wouldn't recommend it for an out-of-town traveler! Not worth the money. SMH do better owners of Lake Winnipesaukee, bc y'all are all about huge profit without the upkeep and sanitisation. The fireworks were fantastic though!

Incredibly delicious meal with house made pate and the pork rinds were just so crunchy. The burger is Incredibly juicy and prepared well but the real winner is the rueben. My wife and I visited here 2-years ago when Josh Gates was in town. The location and atmosphere is great with phenomenal service not to mention the food. The food is indescribable delicious. This time we shared the Niman Ranch Bavette steak cooked medium which produce so much flavor. We also chose the upgraded potato salad, which blew us away. The fried potatoes took it to another level with bacon, mustard seed, mayo and Dijon. Highly recommend adding these potatoes to your dish. You won’t regret it. We also got the Homegrown - Mexican coke with peanuts (childhood memories) with Chattanooga 91 and Big Country Energy. To add to the meal is being served by Kimberly!

The burger is obviously one of the best in the galaxy. But the thing that really zoinked my buds was the potato salad… ya’ll: I didn’t know potato salad could be the main character. Watch out. She’ll steal your man. Perfectly creamy. Perfectly tangy. I miss it whenever I leave. Also dare I say - one of the best martinis in Chatt.

Butcher shop, 400 Bourbins, and fresh cooked grass fed beef. I'm In!!! We had the burger and fries. Really good burger, I would suggest having the amount of grilled onions reduced, they were really good, but you may not want that many. The homecut fries were round and just right, with a really good salt on top. We got extra salt to add, it's worth asking for some. I ended up ordering the salt on Amazon to ha e some at home. Oh and BTW, they have choc chip bacon cookies. Dam! Parking is sparse, but there is road and pay areas, but go give it a try. the fresh meat looked great also, I got some of the breakfast sausage to bring home.

Chattanooga Brewing Co. is a historic craft brewery located near Finley Stadium, making it a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. The brewery offers classic German ales and lagers, as well as more unique and funky brews on tap. The company has an interesting history dating back to the 1890s, which the new owners took into account when reviving the brand. In addition to its great beer selection, Chattanooga Brewing Co.
Chattanooga Brewing is an absolute delight. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and perfect for relaxing with good food and even better beer. I tried the Chestnut Street Brown Ale, and it was outstanding. It was rich, flavorful, with a wonderful nuttiness and a smooth chocolate finish that made every sip satisfying. The tomato basil soup and club sandwich were both delicious and hit the spot. Everything was fresh and well-prepared. A special shout-out to Kailyn, who was absolutely wonderful. Their margherita flatbread pizza was so delicious and probably the best flatbread I've ever had. The pimento cheese with bacon jam and pita was also delicious. I had one of the IPAs and it was ok. It was extremely hot inside to the point I was sweating. The poor plants hanging on the wall looked like they hadn't been watered in quite a while. Nice atmosphere, just really hot.

The place is great and I love the total vibe, but they have this slushie machine over in the corner that's not being used that they could replace with a sweet and unsweet tea station because they don't sell tea, in the south, in chattanooga, sweet or unsweet. Also, I went to ask him to buy a sticker of their logo cuz I collect brewing company stickers and they said they don't sell stickers. What the hell, that's the whole point of owning a brewing company. Anyway, the food was good and the service was great.

miserable service for a Saturday during lunch. not the on-shift staff - fault, as she was clearly overwhelmed with people, but waited 30 minutes for first of 3 meals to come out. recieved it, and that member of the party was done earing neither of the other two was delivered. asked for an update, was told to hold on, and were not returned to. left after being told our tickets were lost 10 minutes after asking. i have never left a review before but this was an awful experience all around. for the prices charged, yall can afford to have more than one person on the floor and in the back. Great if youre going for beer, bartender was quick to offer a drink - dont get food. no communication between the floor and kitchen

Cool bar, okay food, amazing people. Not very much "bar food" so to say but good tastes available. Place has 2 different vibes, if you go for lunch its going to feel more corporate and uptight area. If you go at night it's more of a down to earth can actually chill bar. Management issues are obviously there but overlooked drastically, I imagine out of stubbornness of the owner. Place could be a really cool taproom and hangout but has more of a "these workers really dont like working here" so there's no real heart in the place, just another business that wants your money instead of truly trying to reach out to customers and create a place in which people can feel comfortable, happy and not like your just purchasing a beer and food. Just another chattanooga area bar. Nothing I would call special, but go see for yourself.

The Bitter Alibi is a modern pub located in Downtown Chattanooga, known for its rustic and warm ambiance. It's popular for its inventive brunch fare, burgers, craft beer, and cocktails. The menu features unique twists on simple ingredients such as Cheddar Drop Biscuits with Panko Fried Chicken and hot honey Chicken Biscuit. The drink menu offers creative libations like the Dirty Drunken Chai made with house-distilled vodka and cold brew chai.
Amazing food! Intimate bar atmosphere, but low-key enough for conversation. Perfect for groups with their at the counter orders. Fast service and friendly staff. I went twice during my stay in Chattanooga, had the BA Ramen with the wonton nachos and the BA burger with fries, and everything was incredible. Will be coming back.

The last time I've been here was years ago. I came here with a friend for brunch, we sat outside on the patio and I ordered an avocado toast. It was good and we had a nice time. I would come back to try their other brunch foods. Recently I came with a large group of friends for some late night food on a Saturday night. There was a bunch of seating inside for all of us. I ordered the Black Bean Noods and added ground beef to my bowl. Wait time wasn't bad. After a few moments, a server came by and said that they forgot to add my hard-boiled egg lol. Service was good. I was looking forward to trying what I ordered, especially since I love black bean noodles. And maybe I was a little too excited or had high standards, but my black bean noodles didn't taste like the ones I've had in the past. I was pretty disappointed by it. I liked the pickles in my bowl, I liked the sauce and the consistency of the noodles was chewy just how I like it to be. The pickles added a nice acidity to the overall savory flavor profile. The ground beef was flavorful and added to the overall dish. It was a savory bowl but it lacked umami. When I tasted it, I knew it was missing something flavor-wise as a whole. My bowl was okay, just not spectacular to me. I think I would've been better off ordering the K-pop fries because my friend really liked it and it also had all the ingredients I'd like. For what I ordered, I felt like the price didn't correlate to the quality and taste of the dish. I wouldn't pay that much for what I ordered again. We still had a good time but I wouldn't order this again.

really enjoyed our time - wish we could have stayed longer! this place feels local, casual, and welcoming. Its quant and cozy inside. We just popped in for a drink before a dinner reservation down the street and enjoyed talking to the bartender so much we wished we didn't have to leave. Others were ordering food that looked and smelled great! Would definitely visit again!

The bartenders were amazing and had great recommendations! The Fun Guy tacos and Creamsicle drink were both better than expected, noting I'm not sure what I was expecting or why 🤔😆 I would def order both again!

At The Bitter Alibi, the vibe is set, A cozy haunt you won't forget. The ramen’s wild — a flavor parade, Like miso dreams that chefs have made. The broth is bold, the noodles tight, Each bowl a twist, pure foodie delight. But what makes it shine, beyond the fare, Are the hearts and smiles that welcome you there. So raise a glass, don’t pass it by — Cheers to the crew at The Bitter Alibi!

Manuel! If you get the chance to sit and talk with Manuel, consider yourself lucky. He will be honest with you about food choices (not that anything isn’t good… just more explains what is on the menu vs what you’re craving & even considers pairing it to what you’re drinking). The wonton nachos. Do it. We had it with the ground beef and it was one of the best things we’ve eaten in Chattanooga. Manuel also makes a serious cocktail. He is passionate about the ingredients and knows what he’s doing!

Saw this place on uber eats and it looked great, however in person - not a decent place. Dirty but not in the charming way and not ambient in any sense. The energy from it deterred everyone in my party of 8. Don’t waste the time unless you’re desperate.

Hipster vibes with amazing Ramen. This is a cool place to stop in for a drink or the ramen, which is something they’re known for. The building was once a house, converted to bar space with 2 floors & a front porch for seating. We chose the front porch since the weather was right & not overly hot. We both ordered the pork belly ramen, (BA Ramen on the menu) which did not let us down. It had some spice to it, but the right amount. If you’re a fan of ramen, this is a must try. We also tried the potstickers as an appetizer, which were great. Fair prices & friendly staff.

Chester Frost Park, located in Hixson, is a year-round camping destination with 228 recreational campsites for tents and RVs. The park offers a sandy beach, boat docks, and fishing spots along the shores of Chickamauga Lake. It's a family-friendly summer day destination with lush green lawns, picnic facilities, and a floating obstacle course called Nooga Splash during the summer months.
Cannot say enough amazing things about this park. It's gorgeous from every angle. Every site has a lake view. Trails are great, and the sites are very large and long. Staff is friendly and helpful, and we saw them constantly working and driving around checking on things. Rangers are on site as well. We WILL be back!

We have stayed at a few different state park yurts. This is the first time we stayed at Chester Frost. Check in was earlier than most and was pretty easy. We stayed in yurts 99 & 100. They are right beside check in so that was convenient. The view from the back deck was stunning and a great way to start the morning. We had a dock right out back of the yurts so we did quite a bit of fishing. The grounds were nice overall. My only complaints (if you could really call it that) would be the bathrooms. I will say they seem to be in the process of redoing them so that’s a positive. We will definitely be back!

The park isn't as clean as it used to be. I've been to the swimming area for the last week. I picked up other people's trash and clothes the first couple days. Nothing has been picked up or cleaned on the beach area since. I think they just need to hire additional hard working folk. The campground restrooms need attention also. Other than that, the staff are always friendly and helpful. The campground is nice.

Oddstory Brewing Co, situated on E M L King Blvd near the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, has swiftly become a popular spot in town. The brewery is known for its unique and experimental beers that are introduced frequently and seasonally. It's a great place to try out new beers and hang out with friends.
First time here. Great atmosphere, food was AMAZING. Plenty of open patio space for families and VERY green atmosphere that partners with the Chattanooga Zoo. Super innovative restaurant for Chattanooga. Plant based options available for substitution.

Oddstory has been a go-to spot for years. I thought I had reviewed Oddstory so I’m sorry y’all! The service, drinks, food, and staff…all superb! I can’t say enough about how great this place is. The bar is welcoming, the food service window is consistently staffed by the most delightful folks, and there’s varied seating for whatever you’re feeling that day. Keep it up, we’ll see you again soon.

Awesome spot! - Great selection of drinks. They always have a wide variety of beer. I enjoy darker beers and they always have a few options for me to choose from. My wife doesn’t partake often and still had several NA cocktails, sodas and kombucha to choose from (pictured is blueberry basil kombucha). - Awesome layout. They have a huge outdoors area with a fenced off kids area, largely appreciated by us childless adults that like breweries. There is also an indoor area where you can sit if the weather sucks. - Parking is not ideal. Small dirt lot attached to the building. You can park on the street nearby and walk here easily. All in all a great spot.

Went for the 1st time on 16 July and had a blast. Tried local and foreign beers. The burgers are great. You have to order fries separately, but they give you large portions and they taste amazing. See pics!

Beer was great, burgers were great, Tikka Masala was great!!! Unfortunately they didn't make an old fashioned or any custom liquor drink other than the 4 or 5 they had pre-made but, it was still an excellent place and an excellent vibe!!

I am amazed by this place! Absolutely incredible sandwiches, burgers, and fries. The prices were very affordable and the food itself was just perfect (if You couldn’t tell by the half-eaten food in the photo). The KFC burger and the Anomaly smash burger are fantastic, along with the elote fries. This is the best burger and fries I have had in chattanooga so far.
Amelia B — Google review
This is my go-to local spot for great beer, tasty food, and friendly service. The only thing that rivals the variety of seating - perfect for any of my moods - is the solid selection of beers in all kinds of styles. Right now, I’m loving the Zora. It’s got a smooth wheat base with a nice fruity kick up front. The summer ale has also been a reliable favorite lately - refreshing and easy-drinking. I always go for the KFC Sando - it never misses. And speaking of consistency, the fries are always crispy. If I’m in the mood for a little extra flavor, I’ll upgrade to the Elote fries for that extra zing. On weeks I’ve already had the Sando (no regrets), the noodles or Smash Burger make great alternatives. The place is consistently clean - from the service stations to the bathrooms to all the tables and open areas. Plus, I can bring my kiddo or pups without any stress, which is a rare and awesome bonus. The open, airy vibe really sets it apart. It’s a popular spot for good reason, so if you’re planning to come on a Friday or weekend night, it’s worth checking the line situation ahead of time. That said, ordering your food at the front when you grab your beer has helped move things along. Either way, it’s never kept me away - because I know it’s worth it every time. Hope you get to enjoy it too!

Scenic spot
Sunset Rock is a popular destination on Lookout Mountain, offering stunning views of the Tennessee River, Signal Mountain, and Prentice Cooper State Forest. It's a favorite spot for rock climbers, hikers, and photographers. The approach to Sunset Rock can be either easy or challenging depending on where you start your hike. There's limited parking available at 405 W Brow Rd, so it's advisable to arrive early. The rocky climb offers an active walking experience with expansive vistas at the top.
A great place to enjoy a breathtaking view. Some photographers even use this spot for wedding photos! Sunset is definitely the best time to come. However, I wouldn’t risk going there in bad weather because there are no guards or safety barriers. I also would not recommend it for families with small children. Honestly, it was terrifying to watch elderly people taking pictures right on the edge of the cliff. For teens, young adults, and families with older kids, though, the experience is incredible. If you have more than 1–2 hours, I’d suggest going to Rock City instead — there’s much more to see, and sunset photo sessions there are amazing as well. People even bring hammocks so they don’t have to sit on the ground. One more tip: locals sometimes offer parking for $10, but they don’t give change — so make sure to have small bills with you.
Natalya A — Google review
This was probably my favorite thing I experienced while vacationing in the area. There is a small parking lot that holds maybe 6-8 vehicles. There is a plaque explaining the historical significance of the site, then a stone pathway leading down to the edge of the cliff. The stone path turns from smooth to rocky, but it was a fairly easy hike down and back up. Once you reach the end of the path you are greeted by magnificent views of the Tennessee River and mountains. The area is not very large. We luckily only encountered a few other people on our adventure. Two ladies had brought lawn chairs and were sitting off to the side watching some rock climbers rappel down the rocky sides of Lookout Mountain. They had the right idea (the ladies, not the climbers 😂)!We saw a path off to the left and walked down it a little ways before turning back. I’m not sure how far it went or where it lead to. This was a wonderful surprise to behold with my own eyes. I would definitely recommend checking out Sunset Rock. Also a good thing to mention is that there are NO railings or fences to prevent someone from falling off. It’s about 1,300 feet up and you would surely meet your maker. I do not recommend bringing small children or misbehaved animals as you may never see them again!

I recently visited Sunset Rock in Chattanooga, and it was an awesome experience. The hike to the viewpoint is short and manageable, making it perfect for a quick outdoor adventure. Parking is a bit limited, so arriving early is a good idea, but it’s definitely worth it. Once you reach the top, the view is absolutely stunning—panoramic city and nature sights that are perfect for photos. I spent some time just soaking in the scenery and snapping pictures. It’s a peaceful spot to enjoy a sunset or just get some fresh air without a long trek. Overall, Sunset Rock is a great spot for anyone looking for an easy hike with a rewarding view. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re in Chattanooga and want a mix of nature, photo ops, and a relaxing outdoor experience.

Public House Restaurant, located at the Southern end of the Warehouse Row complex in Chattanooga, offers a relaxed and refined setting to enjoy locally sourced Southern fare. The dining room, patio, and lounge area provide an elegant yet casual atmosphere for gathering with friends or enjoying a special dinner with family. Known for its high-quality seafood from Foleys in Boston and premium steaks and farm-fresh produce sourced regionally, Public House takes a fresh approach to traditional Southern cuisine.
I would consider public house an elevated meat and three type place which I like since we don’t have anything like that in town. We have always made reservations and get seated immediately. The staff has always been top notch as well. The bar makes a great drinks always the old fashions and they are great. For apps the pimento cheese and fried pickles are amazing but the bbq carrots and ranch are next level! Excellent fried chicken, which is marinated in southern sweet tea. You get a leg, thigh and breast. Very juicy and crispy. Mac n cheese was solid, too. We ordered the soup beans, but sent them back because they cook the bean al dente. As for deserts, key lime and carrot cake were both very tasty. Service couldn't have been better.

It's been years since I stopped here. What a treat! I enjoyed the lovely pot roast that was so tender and the sauce was rich. I enjoyed a side of beets with goat cheese and a small salad. Everything was delicious. One companion got the chicken livers with grits and hot butter sauce. The batter was too heavy so she was searching for the actual meat, but the flavor was wonderful with a kick of heat. A little more grits would have allowed her to soak up the sauce and pair with the healthy portion of chicken. My other companion enjoyed the roasted quail small plate. The inside was juivy with a crispy skin. We also ordered a special brown butter latte that was so smooth and tasty. It needed to be a little warmer, but the flavor was so good. Beautiful presentation for all the items and good service.

Excellent place for drinks and dinner. The staff is friendly too. Ate here two nights in a row. First night we had a reservation. But arrived 45 minutes early and they happily seated us right away. I have to say this, maybe one of my faite restaurants in Chattanooga. The food is so delicious. I never have been one to like steak, but this place literally made me like steak. It has the perfect seasoning the perfect tenderness and everything you feel like you’re fine dining but for the prices is not horrible at all this is my favorite place to go to for occasion. The only thing that I would say that is kind of annoying as you have to reserve a while ahead we got lucky and went on a day that wasn’t busy but we sat outside and if you do sit outside, just beware it is loud with traffic and firetrucks lol. But this is one of my favorite places and I will be coming back.

Trout was excellent! The service was excellent! The hostess found us a table and seated us on a Saturday without a reservation, the waitress was familiar with the menu and wine list and made sure we were served in plenty of time to make the show we were in town to attend. Easy Bistro & Bar is a chic yet laid-back French bistro located in a renovated bottling plant on Chestnut Street. Since its establishment in 2005, this family-run restaurant has become a favorite among local food enthusiasts. The menu offers classic French dishes with a Southern American twist, featuring seafood from the raw bar and an extensive cocktail list. The use of farm-fresh, seasonal ingredients adds creativity to the beautifully presented dishes.
Great experience dining here. The food is excellent and very well priced. There a lot of different flavors to explore through their dishes. They also have half off oysters during happy hour. They have a large variety which were all delicious. The tasting menu was a very great way to sample a lot of the items. It was very filled. They also have an excellent tea menu as well as coffee. I personally found their mock tails to be egregiously overpriced. It's about $8 for what seemed to be about 4 oz. I would not recommend the mock tails.

I don’t think I’ve ever had a better meal. Easy Bistro was a last-minute reservation after we spotted their menu online, and deciding to go was easy. Our reservation was for 7:45, and although the place was packed when we arrived, the service was quick and everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful with our questions. We started with cocktails and a dozen oysters (plus a few extras). Then we tried the squash soup—something that sounds simple but was anything but. For our entrée, we shared the bavette steak, cooked perfectly and incredibly tender. It paired beautifully with the sunchoke grits and sweet potato side. And of course, we couldn’t leave without dessert, so we ordered two. The profiterole was fantastic, and the crème brûlée had a slight lemony flavor with a great crunch from the sea salt flakes and pistachios on top. From start to finish, the food kept impressing us and made for a perfect date night.

Enjoyed a mid week meal with friends. Easy Bistro offers fantastic food and high visibility. For my first time, we sat in the main dining area, other visits were in the more private back room. Our party of four shared plates and easily satisfied ourselves. Conversation was louder in the main area where action dominates. Watching the service and all the plates pass by was far more interesting, for me. A great place to see and be seen. Congratulations on recent recognition Easy B.

I don't know how on earth this doesn't have a 5⭐ total review score! I live here in Chattanooga and come up to point park a couple times a year. It's usually quite, peaceful, and absolutely beautiful scenery 360° around here! There's a few small cool shops, a few nice joints to grab a bite, and literally 5 minutes away you can hop on the incline and ride the railroad down the side of lookout mountain to a bunch of places to eat in St Elmo. It's worth the walk and fee unless you're fat and or lazy, then you may just want to go to one of the many places to get a bite to eat!😉😂 May I suggest Mr T's pizza at the foot of the mountain and close by is a really cool but kinda small clock and timepiece shop. It has grandfather clocks, coocoo clocks and many more. They also used to let you watch repairs being done, super neat to watch or at least I thought so!? Just go, put on your walking shoes, and have a great but layed back time!

Walk up to the museum from the incline. It is a very interesting museum with lots of history to look at. The gift shop has several item that I would of like to add to my collection. The show that tells the history of point park is a great place to start before entering the park.

This place was great. They had a lot of things to purchase like presidential cards, food, drinks, books, etc. etc. etc. There were so many little things being sold here that were cool that it was hard to choose just a couple things to purchase. The person checking us out was super helpful, friendly, and inviting. They also have a lot of history information in this little area and it made our time here even more worthwhile. Glad we stopped off here. They had way more to offer here then I imagined they would and they're only a couple blocks away from the incline and right next to Point Park.

Please see the 3d movie. If was 30mins and SO informative. We all loved it ages 9 to 46!
Amanda P — Google review
While I'd say it's not a destination spot you might is well stop in and check out since you're alreayd up there to check out the view. It's got a decent amount of historical information regarding the Civil War and Chattanooga's history in it. More than anything it's a gift shop - which we did pick up a couple of items. The real reason to be up there though is to check out the views from Lookout Mountain.

Great experience! The movie is so informative and well done. Really beneficial before entering Point Park. The museum really gave me an appreciation for Point Park, they I may have missed had not visiting the museum prior.

Very cool history memorabilia! Neat screen movie of the reenactment of the Battle of Chattanooga. Friendly staff! Cool gifts and treats!

Sculpture Fields at Montague Park is a 33-acre open-air museum located in Chattanooga's Southside neighborhood. The park features over 40 large contemporary sculptures from around the world, set amidst expansive grassy surroundings with views of Lookout Mountain. Recognized by prestigious institutions like the International Sculpture Center and the Smithsonian Institution, this park has become a favorite spot for engagement photos and various events.
Very nice American Art Sculptures in a field with a gravel trail to walk. No road access. Wouldn't recommend sandals. Very dusty and rocky. Plus, they were mowing the day we went. Gave a kingdom look into how the disciples felt going into a home with dirty feet. Had to wash them before getting back in the car.

Interesting metal sculptures. Grass was overgrown in some areas where it was hard to get to benches. Backs up to an armory. They should plant some trees along that fence to hide the view of the metal storage containers and tanks. Weird guys hanging out at the restroom facilities. Didn't feel safe.
Tiffiney S — Google review
My daughter and I visited Chattanooga and came here to see the sculpture garden. There are a lot of beautiful and unique sculptures. We enjoyed walking the paths and looking at all the neat artwork.
Valerie — Google review
What a great free park to go enjoy. Lots of sculptures and abstract pieces of art. The paths are graveled and easy to walk on. The entrance has huge holes enter carefully.
James M — Google review
This is definitely one of the quirkiest parks we’ve ever been to! It is very unique and interesting. Designed in 33 acres of 1.5 miles of winding trails. You can explore more than 50 large scale and world class sculptures. The sculptures are made from a variety of materials including bronze, steel, stone. A special exhibit called the Sealight Festival displayed sculptures of heavy duty wire and Chinese silk cloth that light up and “comes to life” were an exhibit through April 2025. We visited the park during the day. The Park is free and it is pet friendly (must be leashed). There is a large tent area where events are offered. Rest rooms are available.
DElightful P — Google review
Nice spacious park to see some interesting outdoor sculpture of wildly different scope and size. Easy gravel parking right at entrance.

Free walking path perfect to take your dogs or morning run. Restrooms available. Homeless stared us down upon entry, so my Fiance didn’t feel safe

So there I was— me and the boys. On a road trip down to ATL baby ATL! And I wanted a good pit stop for the trip and this was great. We got out and walked around then BAM the boys were sucked into a mandatory photo shoot or I wouldn’t drive away. Would recommend.

Hutton & Smith Brewing Co. is a pet-friendly brewery in Chattanooga that offers a rugged and to-the-point selection of craft IPAs. The brewery often introduces new and unique brews on a weekly basis, but their house favorites like the Basecamp blonde ale and Tremont's Tectonic IPA are always available. Named after the fathers of modern geology, this brewery takes pride in brewing complex layered beers with a geologic sense of time, reflecting their passion for the esoteric and unique.
Got a flight and they had a variety of different beers to try! Have a back game room and love the logo with the drinking beer kitty cat! Very good beers. We liked all of them we tried. Bartender was friendly and helpful.
ERIN L — Google review
This is a relaxed and comfortable place to have a few beers and make some new friends. The beer is all amazing. The couches are comfy, the staff is friendly. Plus dogs. Who does not live friendly puppet.

Update 8/24 Still one of the best places to get a beer in Chattanooga. There is always a great selection to choose from. Update 6/19/23: I always love coming back here. I think we stop by everytime we are in town. Great beer and great atmosphere, as usual. Another great micro brewery that Chattanooga has to offer. This is a must go to place for any beer lover. Great selection of beer on tap and beer to go. Super friendly and very knowledgeable beertenders. The perfect place to go to if you want to get a drink and just chill. Also, all their beers are amazing. 🍻
P G — Google review
Probably the best overall beers that we had in the seven microbreweries that we visited in Chattanooga. The seating area is small and the staff member who served us was very friendly. One of the workers who sat at the bar never acknowledged our presence. Being a business owner myself, it never hurts to greet people and say hello. Their stouts were flavorful and we tried their Lemon Ginger wheat ale and it was very good.
Mike M — Google review
We happened upon this space and were incredibly impressed by the beer here. I wish we could’ve thanked the head brewer personally because the beer was straight fire. Like spewing from a volcano kind of fire. Nothing tasted off flavor. Everything was amazeballs. The bar tender lady (sorry I forgot your name girl #embarrassed) was kind and attentive as well! So happy we came and next time we’re in the area we will come again! We’re from Florida and my husband is a brewer in Orlando so we love to support local breweries wherever we go. Keep it up beer warriors!

Hutton & Smith Brewing Co. provided the best overall experience of all the craft breweries we visited in Chattanooga Tennessee. Knowledgeable and friendly staff that proudly showcased the brewery's crafted beers. People wise, this was a good crowd. Casual, relaxing atmosphere. When we return to Chattanooga in the future, this will be a our good to brewery. They know what they are doing. They brew good beer. The Tectonic Session IPA was my favorite beer.
Brent W — Google review
Great area, lots of seating. Tasty flavors chose a nitro stout that was full of flavor, as well as a blackberry sour. One of the best sours I have had. The space is unique and Proof will deliver food to you there. QR codes on the tables to scan for a menu. I wish I had tasted more beers.

TOURIST First stop on our Halloween bar hop! Super nice staff and ambiance. They were playing a good music mix with Shaun of the Dead, everyone was in costume, and although I was the DD, my friends said the IPA's were very tasty.

Snooper's Rock is a serene nature preserve in Chattanooga, offering a 5.9-mile trail for hiking, birdwatching, and nature viewing. The rock got its name from the prohibition-era law enforcement officers who used it to snoop on illegal moonshine operations. From the parking lot, there's a half-mile trek to reach the overlook where hikers can enjoy stunning views of the Tennessee River winding through the gorge.
A beautiful place to watch the sun come up. The clouds above the river were breathtaking. I did happen to witness a small wedding while I was there. Not too bad of a trip with my Dodge challenger. But I did need to wash it after I left. Dusty! But well worth the trip.
Tammy P — Google review
Our family had a wedding at Snooper's Rock at sunrise to find amazing views for excellent photos for the time of celebration. We did not get to hike much but there are plenty of trails to be enjoyed. Most certainly worth the effort to get to the location.
David F — Google review
Beautiful experience, exactly as pictured with a short walk. I would recommend a vehicle that can handle mountainous terrain and sharp steep turns, though.
Sarah B — Google review
Follow the road right up to the rock, most vehicles will make it down the road. Just take it easy on your tires!! Absolutely breathtaking sunrise!! Bring coffee and breath away your stress!!
Phillip L — Google review
Beautiful view of the gorge. The gravel road that takes you close to the rock was good on this dry day. I imagine it would be a challenge on a wet day.
Brady W — Google review
We got married on Snooper’s Rock and it was perfect! Always a stunning view — this was sunrise
Olivia O — Google review
Hidden gem of the gorge! Very beautiful overlook over a bend in the river. Can be difficult to access, but 100% worth the trip
Armaan R — Google review
The drive here is long, rocky and back woods. But one of the best views in Chattanooga!!!
